So I had a long conversation with someone about wrecker and why he isn't seen as a father figure as much as hunter is. And I don't know why it took me so long to notice it . I have always believed that wrecker is the closest thing omega has to a father figure. But hunter is giving all the credit in the fandom. It's the same as when a father does the bare minimum and people shower them with All the praise and mother's with nothing. Wrecker acts more maternal in a traditional way than any other batcher does. You might think I'm off my rocker with this but hear me out. Think about the traditional mother figure ? They are more physical ,normally emotionally, sentimental, and detailed oriented. Wrecker is the most hands on bad batcher than anyone else. He knew she needed space so he found a way to provide it for her with a privacy curtain and everything. Next he provided her with his doll. He didn't have to but he knew she needed a toy. Through his own love for food they started a tradition and they bonded over mantel mix . It's like a little special thing only they did together .it made her feel special. I put money wreck was the one that saved all of crosshairs stuff for sentimental value . I'm sure they still have all of techs things too. It's like the baby books a lot of moms want to do . I'm sure there are sentimental dads to but when most people think they think in hetero normative terms it goes to mothers. You can't forget that he was teaching her about bombs and tech was teaching her about ships and flying . What has hunter really done beside being the stand offish father that worries about your physical safety. Wrecker was even the first to greet her after omega return.if it wasn't for omega I think wrecker is the glue to the bad batch.
Side bar when wrecker hugged both crosshair and hunter at the same time if was giving mama bear vibes just saying..

More Of My Random Bad Batch Headcanons (Modern AU)
Echo is the absolute KING of finding good shit for good prices on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or Poshmark. He’s found Omega American Girl dolls in basically new condition for super cheap.
Batcher sleeps in Crosshair’s bed with him.
Hunter decided to let them keep Batcher because he realized he hadn’t seen Crosshair smile like he does when she’s around in a very long time.
Crosshair has some degree of anxiety and is an intense perfectionist.
On that note, he has an extremely nervous stomach. He’s just like me fr
Omega likes to bake and usually does so with Echo and Wrecker not only to bond with them but because they’re both good at it and eager to teach her.
Wrecker cries at movies.
Crosshair also cries at movies but pretends he doesn’t.
Echo has an INSANE network of mom friends. His siblings don’t know the full extent of his network, but what they do know is they can’t go anywhere without bumping into at least one mom who knows Echo.
Crosshair and Tech live in constant fear of Echo dragging them along with him to run errands for this reason. They don’t want to socialize with Sharon for three hours in the sensory hell that is a crowded suburban Target on a Saturday they just want to grab their Oreos and go home.
Hunter has a tendency to baby Crosshair if he isn’t feeling well.
Crosshair pretends to hate it but secretly he loves it because it makes him feel loved and cared for.
Omega seeks out all five of her brothers for bedtime stories depending on what she’s feeling that day. She feels like they are all good storytellers in their own ways but for different types of stories.
Their front lawn is the envy of every dad in the neighborhood courtesy of Hunter.
Speaking of Hunter, all the single moms and college-aged daughters home from school in the neighborhood “just so happen” to be in the area when he’s doing work on the lawn. Especially if it’s in the middle of summer so he’s all glistening… (I’m going to stop right here before it turns into a romance novel scene).
Omega hates this and finds it cringe.
Wrecker and Crosshair go more crazy over Echo buying Capri Suns than Omega does.
Crosshair collects shot glasses from wherever they travel to. Wrecker collects snow globes.
All the neighborhood dads go CRAZY (and also get lowkey jealous) when Wrecker shows up to the neighborhood cookout because he is an absolute MASTER on the grill. He’s telling them about all the meats he’s smoked and they’re SHAKING with excitement.
Their elderly neighbors who knew 99 and remembers when they were kids still refer to Echo and the original members of the Batch as “99’s boys”. They lowkey still view them as kids/teenage boys so will give them candy on Halloween even though they’re grown-ass men.
Their house is always very decorated for holidays since at least one of them is very intense about a specific holiday (Crosshair takes Halloween very seriously but pretends he’s just doing it for Omega).

The Clone Wars, S7, E4 "Unfinished Business"
I noticed this on my first watch, but didn't really think about it...
Hunter and Tech both express some reservation about Echo's loyalties early in the episode. By the end, when Echo's plan to move all the droids to one location works out, they come to accept that he's not compromised.
But at the beginning of the episode, Echo already has the Bad Batch skull painted on his armor. So...who did that?
This is partly what prompted my "Who's the artist?" poll back in May. And even before the poll results, I was already leaning toward Crosshair being the artist, partly due to this episode.
He's sarcastic. He's grumpy. He's distant. He'd rather dodge blaster fire than wear his emotions on his sleeves.
And I really love the idea of him being the one to take Echo's armor and paint the skull on it while definitively thinking "yep, this one's ours," even before Echo "proves" his loyalties.
(I need to write some Echo and Crosshair ficlets/vignettes. In or outside of my Written in the Dust series. Ugh. Send me good vibes for inspiration.)

tech + crosshair, unspoken
cracks knuckles. its been a hot minute since i’ve done anything bad batch related, but as ive been writing for an AU project (hi wren), its gotten me back to the basics of writing tech and crosshair’s relationship. and by god is it wonderfully difficult. so much is unspoken! little moments of tech tilting his head to let crosshair aim his rifle. a second long glance between the two. tech could already tell something was off about crosshair after his chip activated. and all the moments in-between/before that led to tech instantly knowing that crosshair’s distress call wasn’t a ruse. and the last time they spoke, was when that unspoken communication broke down and tech really did believe that crosshair was no longer one of their own. i don’t know.
something something they spent their entire lives never having to say what they needed to the other in order to get it, and they reveled in that freedom, until it cost them everything. its 4 am and im tired

Hey did you know the tbb can purr? It’s totally fact and not me wanting to read about it 👀. Anywho, please justice can I have some purring clones? 👉👈
Purring clones now live rent free in my head.
I’m struggling with a case of writers block so this is more in the style of my tbb thoughts. Hope it’s to your liking!
Tumblr media
The Purring Hours
Pairing: could be read as romantic for any of the boys you fancy or could be read as gen. Up to you. gender neutral reader
Word count: 525
Warnings: Mention of the Kaminoans 🤢
A/N: I added Rex because he is the purring king 👑
Tumblr media
No one told you that clones could purr.
It starts with Crosshair of all people. A teasing scratch against his growing buzz cut has him leaning into your hand, chest rumbling with a soft purr. Then, once realisation set in, Crosshair is across the ship, avoiding your bewildered expression as his own takes on a warning scowl. You don’t mention it, don’t dare say anything but when Wrecker gives a hearty laugh you’re unable to fight back the small tilt of a smile.
Crosshair doesn’t speak to you for a whole week but you do catch him looking at your hands more than once. Again, you don’t dare say anything but the next time you see him needing comfort or a grounding presence, your fingers brush through his small curls without a pause.
It turns out that purring isn’t always a good thing. Sometimes it’s born of pain, of sadness. It’s Echo you learn this from as dull eyes watch an old holo of the 501st. A happier time when war wasn’t so unforgiving.
Echo doesn’t have hair and you're too afraid of causing discomfort because of his cybernetics, so you climb in behind him and tug the clone back until he’s settled against your chest. Eventually, after many stories of the 501st, his purrs become louder, happier. You fall asleep to them with Echo safe in your arms.
Wrecker breaks sound barriers with his purrs, seriously no joke, it’s loud. He never purrs in the Marauder; it’s too small of a space and it hurts Hunter sensitive hearing. On Pabu though, the house Shep set you up in, shook so much with each purr you had to reinforce the whole structure. Wrecker loved it.
Tech never purrs, or at least that’s what you thought before his chest raised and fell with steady vibrations against your palm. It’s a silent purr he admitted, embarrassment colouring his words. You find yourself hugging him more than any of his brothers. Cuddling against him during weekly Batch piles.
Omega’s purring is the softest and most frequent. In fact if one of her brothers don’t hear her purring in a span of three hours they’re checking in on her, making sure everything is okay. Her purring increases tenfold in those moments and it irritates Crosshair. But you know better when it comes to his complaining, because despite Hunter’s enchanted hearing it’s always Crosshair who notices first.
Hunter on the other hand never purrs. Some terrible excuse about him being the leader and he shouldn’t and blah blah it doesn’t matter. It’s a lie and it’s Echo who pushes Hunter to tell you the truth. He can’t purr. The Kaminoans weren’t sure how much the ability to purr would affect his heightened senses. Other clones treated him differently because of it. You wish you could go back in time and knock out the teeth of those assholes. You tell Hunter that you love him all the same.
And don’t get you started on Rex. The man’s a purring machine, twenty-four seven. You had asked if it was a first generation thing, Echo had laughed and said it’s just Rex and his mother-hen nature.

I Need To Know TBB Headcanons (S3 SPOILERS POSSIBLE PLEASE BE WARRY)
Tumblr media
What do you think the batch spends their time doing on Pabu? What occupies their time now that they are retired? I have only pieces of ideas but I have been tryna find some other folks thoughts. But to get er' rollin' I'll share my ideas.
Wrecker
• He's definitely a community man from what we saw so
- Maybe he babysits
-Maybe he helps fish like we saw in the past
- Or perhaps he carries heavy equipment for repairs/building
Hunter
- Maybe he helps figure out the best fishing spot for every passing day
- Maybe he builds boats or surfboards? Definitely got old surfer vibes from him at the end of Bad Batch (I am so sorry but I could not get Barbie's dad(?) from that one surfer movie out of my head)
Crosshair
• Cross was the hardest to figure out for me due to how little of what he is skilled at outside of being a soldier. But once I thought about it I couldn't stop LMAO
- I think for a long time he struggles with figuring out what he wants to do now that he's free to be whoever he wants to be. He's used being told what to do, and now that he doesn't have someone controlling him he's having a difficult time adjusting. He probably asks Hunter to give him tasks frequently, and after a while he's given the task of taking care of himself. Learning what he wants.
- I definitely imagine him trying multiple things such as: fishing, farming, all the good stuff
- I see him landing on something creatively driven like tattoos and painting. But I do think it takes a lot of time and soul searching before he gets to that point.
- Probably really distant for awhile, he wants to be around the others but feels he doesn't deserve it
- Reluctant on getting a prosthetic, I can see him choosing not to have one
Omega
• Omega wasn't too difficult for me, seeing what she ends up going off to do at the end of the last episode.
- After using pieces of the Marauder to fix up her own ship with Phee (and Tech depending on your thoughts on it), I see her convincing Phee (again, and Tech depending on your opinion) to give her flight lessons.
- She practices the Tech Turn often, doing her best to perfect it. (If you think Tech should stay dead then let's say she does this late at night on her own and has gotten in trouble for it a plethora of times. She can never quite do it as he does. But if you're like me and he lives, then of course he'll help teach her.)
- Omega probably sneaks off a lot, wanting to explore her new home
- Then I think she eventually gets into contact with Herra, and that she's the one who convinces her to become a rebel pilot
Tech
• In my perfect Bad Batch, Tech is alive. He will always be here in my mind; even if I'll have to mourn him as a character in canon alive and well.
- Tech spends much of his time recording and noting down the things he learns about the new island he lives on. Likely going off with Omega.
- I think Tech and Phee try a relationship at one point or another, maybe they decide to break up, maybe they're together for the long run. His calm nature mixing with her unpredictable one perhaps. She helps him feel more comfortable with himself, and he reminds her she doesn't need to change her stories to make them enjoyable. I think he'd love hearing about the artifacts she brings to Pabu. But it's possible their personalities don't mix well. We didn't get to see as much of their relationship on screen as I would have liked. (Came to rewrite this a bit. Was worried with how I wrote it didn't come across as I wanted)
- Tech probably has his own repair shop, or maybe he creates his own inventions.
More Group Stuff
- Definitely live together at least for a long while
- I think Hunter would get into a relationship before anyone else, then Wrecker getting into one kinda on accident? He'd be super oblivious and go on dates without realizing that's what they are. I think Cross n Tech would be last if they were to get into relationships (personally I see them on the aromantic spectrum, specifically Tech being demi and Cross being recip-romantic or Grey-romantic)
- They do a lot of stuff together, swimming, getting tattoos from Cross, therapy, family dinner all the lovely stuff
And I Think That's All I Got
Thanks for letting me ramble in your feed :)

I have a theory. Throughout the series, we’ve seen Omega interact with pretty much only destructive animals(those weird dogs in season 1 count), like Muchi the Rancor, and now Batcher the Lurca hound. Obviously, Omega isn't force-sensitive like Jedi are force-sensitive but maybe she has a connection to only dangerous animals. Like maybe awakening the squid thingy was actually her fault because she just attracts only dangerous animals.
So here's my weird theory, Omega Will ‘befriend’ the Zillo Beast in order to escape Tantiss for the second time. I mean, The Zillo beast as a distraction would be boss.

Thoughts & Feelings after the TBB Finale
Loved the show, but there are a couple of things I wish had been different/added. We still got damn good finale; pretty tense at times, action was great, Hemlock died (and Hunter and Crosshair got to do it together. Remember; sharing is caring), the way Rampart and Nala Se met their end, we even had a pretty happy ending for once, lots of good stuff.
However, I am disappointed Rex and his rebellion didn’t really play a part, despite being the reason Echo was gone for so much of the show and the screen time they got in season 2. They were also looking for Tantiss, determined to free their brother, so I’d been hoping Echo would manage to get a message out. Just imagine Rex with his boys showing up clutch, keeping troops occupied, evacuating the prisoners, giving the Batch the opening they need to get to Hemlock or something.
While I like how the show stayed focused on the Bad Batch, and didn’t drag in too many characters from other stories, this could have made Echo’s absence/working with Rex feel more vital. Maybe the Rex-storyline was dropped and they’re saving some of these plotlines for another Rex-centred show; those might also show when Wolffe switched sides or what happened to Cody, after he went AWOL.
Now, am I sad Tech is really dead? Yes and no.
While I am sick of every other character in Star Wars returning from the dead, part of me had hoped he’d survived somehow. As mentioned in previous posts, it felt like he died in the middle of his character arch (which his death certainly didn’t complete); Romar in the first episodes of season 2 gave him inside into the value of culture, and how people weren’t defined by what side they were on during the war. Phee added to this with her own love of history and culture...and then it didn’t go anywhere. They also teased the possibility of a romance with her, but it was ended with an awkward goodbye and we didn’t see her react to his death. She mentions him, but its business as usual for everyone at that point. Tech could have been on vacation the way everyone acted most of the time in season 3.
Seriously, the main reason I’m unsatisfied with his death is the lack of reaction and consequences in this season. Even in the episode he died in, it was kinda overshadowed by Omega’s abduction 5 minutes later. Not to mention that it ended with Emeri revealing she was her sister; you lost a science-inclined sibling with glasses? Well, don’t worry, here’s another. Bit overdramatic on my part, I know, but I really didn’t like that reveal, not at the time. Should have been in season 3.  Though honestly? Emeri didn’t need to be related to any of them; just have her be a not morally bankrupt person and the story wouldn’t have changed. She didn’t need to be related to the other kids to care about them, so what really was the point of her being another clone?
Going back to Tech, it’s a shame we didn’t see Crosshair or Phee react. Like, did Crosshair blame himself for what happened? I’m sure he did on some level, but we have not really seen it. Even in episode 5, when he argues with Hunter, Crosshair says he risked everything to send the message, but Hunter ignored him and allowed Omega to get abducted...but nothing about Tech’s death. They all just silently look down a few episodes later, when Tech is mentioned, and in the final episode Crosshair points out the team died with Tech. It’s something, but I wish there had been more. Maybe show different ways they deal with loss and how to support each other. Maybe Phee and/or Shep show them what funeral rites on Pabu are like, as a way to say goodbye to the departed. Compare how clones and civilians handle death, something like that. We had a little mourning in season 2, but again, was abruptly ended/undercut by Omega’s abduction.
Concerning consequences; the team operated pretty normally, once Crosshair was back with them. I think it would have added weight, if there had been more things they weren’t able to do at all without Tech. Really make his loss be felt/shown in the way they approach their missions, but there was only like one instance, when they were trying to find out about M-count and otherwise they operated pretty much as usual.
Now, even if Tech had survived there still should have been consequences. I have made posts like a year ago, talking about the possibility of him being permanently disabled (e.g. paralysed below hip/unable to walk), but still able to help the team, as his mind has always been his greatest asset. Still, I’m okay with him staying dead, so I’m not going expand on this further here.
Moving on, we never learned why Omega was created the way she was. We know why she was useful for Hemlock, but why did Nala Se made her to begin with? Did she have similar goals/did the Kaminioan have a similar project at some point? Was Emeri like a failed test-version of Omega? Just things I wish they had answered, rather than spending two episodes on finding out what M-count means, something the audience already knows.
Which brings me to my next point: why Ventress was in the show? The Batch found out what the M-count was, which honestly is a piece of information Shand could have given them at the end of her episode. Testing if Omega was force sensitive or the taming of that sea creature, didn’t set up anything in the finale as some suspected, so despite enjoying Ventress’ episode, I wish they’d used the time on other plot points.
We also never did find out what exactly Project Necromancer tried to accomplish (though we got a good idea), or how close Hemlock was to achieving his breakthrough. Could have added tension, if we’d known how far along he truly was, added catharsis to see him fail so close to his goal.
Overall I’m not quite happy Omega got brought to Tantiss and escaped twice with minimal help (really undermining the place as a whole). Why did infiltrating Tarkin’s “summer home” feel more dangerous/consequential than the secret mountain-base they built up so much? I love we finally got a happy ending, but one named character on the good guys’ side should have died, not just nameless prisoners we only just met. This is where the clone rebellion could have come in, some sacrificing themselves, helping the Batch, or maybe have Phee (who felt underutilised) get shot down, after getting them to Tantiss.
If you’ve seen previous posts, you know I’m pretty mad about what they’ve done with Scorch overall. What happened in the final episode can be summed up like this:
Tumblr media
He’s unrecognizable from the games and books, to the point I wonder why they even bothered to include him. He didn’t even really do anything. Was it just because he was recognizable? And where is the rest of Delta? We never got closure concerning Sev and now this, a waste of a pretty fun character.
Speaking of clones working for Hemlock.
While I don’t mind the CX-clones being no one special, they had no personality, and except for CX-2 perhaps, no rivalries with the Batch either. They didn’t even get voice lines, so they looked cool for 5 minutes of screen time and died, but were pretty forgettable overall. They are this far down on my list, ‘cause I legit forgot about them. If only they’d been introduced sooner.
Anyway, those are some of my thoughts. I still like the show and would recommend it to any Star Wars fan, but there were a few things I just needed to get off my chest.

Every week I hold out hope that Tech is alive. Between Maul being cut in half and surviving and Boba Fett being alive I still hope. As Jin said in rouge one “rebellions are built on hope”. Yet every time we get closer to the last episode, my hope dwindles.
Back when the season 2 finale happened and for a while there after I accepted that Tech was gone. I hated it so much but I accepted it because I just did. It wasn’t until I remembered Maul, how we never saw a body for Tech that I started to hope. Hemlock found his goggles, has a project called necromancer. It’s probably wishful thinking at this point.
However if Hemlock and the empire were to have one of the bad batch members be on their side, Tech would be the most prudent choice. He’s highly intelligent, well-versed in a multitude of technological advances, and not to mention, he probably knows his brothers like the back of his hand. Well, having crosshairs proved to be pretty valuable to them, Tech probably has a multitude of knowledge on not just his brothers, but on a wide variety of things. He’s been studying his brothers for a very long time. He probably knows all of their techniques and such. He’d certainly be a valuable asset to not just the empire, but to hemlocks scientific advancements as well.
On top of all of this, we have been putting an emphasis on this particular clone assassin from the episode with Rex and echo. This is the same one in that episode that was in this one taking over Pabu. Hemlock said he failed before. It has to be the same clone assassin. He’s come this far and we have put a huge emphasis on him. It has to be someone that we know, someone that once revealed could change everything. This assassin is not just a throwaway character. Not at this point.
I’d also like to point out that we never got to hear or see Omega tell crosshairs that tech died. We never got to see all of the Brothers properly grieve except for that short time that we saw before the empire took Omega. For him being such an important member of their team, being their brother it just seems like we kind of glossed over the grieving process a little quicker than we probably should have.
This is all speculation and me spit balling here as a Tech fangirl and Tech being my favorite bad batch member. But the more theories I read, the more I think about it the more I can’t help but wonder if he really is alive.
However, if he really is dead and he’s never coming back then I’ve accepted it once before I can accept it again I’ll just be really fucking sad about it. But until the last episode is over I’ll keep on hoping.

Can I discuss something about Tantiss and Hemlock?
As someone who studied political science, specifically with a lot of focus on some of the worst human rights violations in history, my thoughts have been going to extremely dark places whenever I think of what Crosshair (and the other clones) went through on Tantiss. We see how evil Hemlock is (I don’t call him Dr because I don’t respect him) and even with that, we don’t even see that much of what he does but what we do know is that Tantiss is this secret, scientific location where all kinds of experiments occur, and children and clones are kept as “subjects” not people, and that he’s given a LOT of discretion and power to do as he pleases.
This is always a recipe for disaster and atrocity, and the fact that we don’t see anything and haven’t so far, and instead it is left to circle our minds, makes Tantiss and Hemlock even more horrifying, in my opinion. Since Star Wars is and has always been very political, this is not something that is lost on me.
It’s also not lost on me that his name, Hemlock, is the same name as a well-known poison.
