Accessibility tip:

If you want to automate your home a bit, but you don't want any "smart" tech, you can just buy remote controlled power sockets instead

They are a lot cheaper and easier to set up and use than some home automation smart tech nonsense

They don't need an app (but some models come with optional apps and there are apps that are compatible with most of these)

Many of them use the 433mhz frequency to communicate, which makes most models compatible with each other, even if they are from different manufacturers

The tech has been around for a long time and will be around for a long time to come

You don't have to put any fucking corporate listening devices like an amazon echo in your home

Stone gets pulled into Eggmans universe but unlike his Robotnik, Eggman recognizes Stones worth almost immediately. At the beginning? Absolutely terrifying, constantly threatening Stone just by showing him how easily he could crush him with his bare hands, or destroying whoever with his machines.

But Stone makes him the best coffee he's ever had in his life, cooks for him three times a day, knows how to fix and clean and program the badniks, and takes care of all of Eggmans needs without ever being asked.

Which gets Eggman thinking, wow, the other version of me was a lucky man, having Stone around like this, probably married him before the end if the way Stone talks about him is anything to go by. He starts catching feelings for Stone but holds back like, "I don't want to make it weird for Stone, he does so much for me."

Then eventually Stone very casually tells him how badly his Robotnik treated him all the time...

And Eggman is livid.

I've been on my soap box about generative AI before and no doubt I'll do it again, but I'm seeing more and more AI art show up in the community lately, and with the recent ST issue, it's starting to get disheartening.

The only thing I want AI to do is the things that make life a chore so I have more time to do art, not do my art so I have more time for chores.

For most of my pieces, I put how long it took me (according to procreate's in app timer). Cumatively, I've spent 100s of hours making art in the past 3 years alone, and even within those years I've learned and improved. I went to art classes for specific skills, I went to college, and I'm constantly learning new things from the wonderful artists that I have met over the years. Just for all of that time, skill and effort to be scalped to feed a machine that churns up soulless images. 

Art takes time to learn and time to make. And if you really can't draw or have no interest in learning - commission an artist or just talk about your ideas! If you're in the same fandom, it's likely we're excited about the same thing too! Or look out for artists asking for suggestions etc

AI is hurting real people. It's trained using art created by human artists who didn't give permission for their art to be used this way. It's now showing up on book covers, album covers, and even visuals on screens at concerts - all taking opportunities away from real people.

And the latest instance of AI within the ST community and support from what appears to be some sort of management, is a kick in the teeth to all of those artists who have had fan art wrongfully removed and even accounts shut down - even when clearly marked not for sale.

A key point of human made art is the act of communicating some sense of meaning or message - AI art does not and cannot do this. And AI art can never create anything fundamentally new or challenging - humans have and humans will.

Lionsgate casting directors are cowards. For so many reasons I've gone on about before, but today, it's Louella. Back in 2010, I had classmates draw Rue as white, and I had the page numbers with quotes describing her "dark brown skin" at the ready. "But she reminds Katniss of Prim," they'd say. Shut up! The small, cute, sweet black girl can remind Katniss of her small, cute, sweet blonde sister!

Sadly, I remember the backlash of Rue's casting. Newer fans, believe us, it was the most god-awful thing. "I'm not sad she dies anymore" was not an uncommon thing to see on the internet in 2012. I would have hoped that people had grown since then, and I'm very disappointed but cannot say I'm surprised. If Lionsgate cared about how a young actress was treated, they would do something to protect young actresses from racist-ass dickwads. But they don't! Instead, they chose to cast Louella as white. I hate to think they did it to make her death and replacement sadder in the eyes of those 2012 racists, but I do not put it past them.

And with Wyatt, it was literally, "You can have an Asian character, but he'll be the one obsessed with math and die first." Fuck this casting.
