hiii I come to you with some worldbuilding

Airplane dragons did not always exist, in fact they only showed up suddenly around the world ~20 years ago, replacing every existing aircraft at the beginning of this new modern magic era. I wanted to imagine all the new/different roles existing infrastructure would take on as a result of this, along with some new infrastructure that may have popped up in the last 20 years.

Side note: this doesn't exactly take place in our current world. Its a bit more of a utopia in the way that clean renewable energy has been figured out, capitalism is only found in history books, and a few major adjustments to countries (mainly the US) have been made. It's pretty solarpunk!

The work that Daniel Clark did for "Dear Alice" is very close to what i'm trying to go for :)

i have a little addon to make using ao3 easier, little QoL tweaks, and a fun thing it does is if you put in your average reading speed, it'll tell you roughly how long it'll take to read a story. i have mine set to the default, a relaxed 100 wpm, and here's how dead woman walking is shaking out

if for whatever reason you want full spotify premium (for example i use it a lot on my work computer and phone so i can’t just download something and be all good tbh) jsyk the cheapest option is gift cards. you have to front load your payments because they come in 3, 6, and 12 month options, which i recognize isn’t an option for everyone, but if you can you definitely save money - the 3 and 6 month one comes out to $10/month ($30 and $60 respectively) and the 12 month comes out to $8.25/month ($99). they’re available as physical cards or digital gift cards that can be sent directly to your email. once the gift card runs out i believe you just go back to standard membership, but you might default back to paying for premium monthly if you’ve already given your payment info. there’s like, at least four major retailers i found selling these when i google ‘spotify annual gift card’ so i’m not even gonna link anything i’m just gonna suggest you do that and take your pick. obviously if you’re capable of just cancelling your membership and using a free option or this is pissing you off enough to change platforms, do it. i just haven’t paid full price for premium since the last price hike annoyed me and i found a third option.

Greetings, Dirk Gently fandom; I bring you great news! A saviour has been born!

Introducing: a searchable DGHDA scene index!

What is it?

It's a way to categorise and search for every single scene in the show.

You can sort by character, tone, season, activity level, etc, and the spreadsheet will automatically give you all the scenes that match your search with a link to their start and end times on YouTube!

Why?

The original intention of this was for fic writers – as the writing equivalent of a folder of reference images. But it has as many applications as you can think of for it!

How?

Four days of me hyperfocusing on spreadsheet formulae. Worth it.

But!!! There's a Problem!

See, I've set the whole thing up, with formatting and formulae and so on – but, at present, there isn't actually anything in it.

There's something like 900 scenes in the whole show.

So: I'm asking for your help!

I've got a document linked below explaining everything involved, but in short: if we produce a community effort and divide the episodes between us, the whole thing will be filled out and functional much more quickly!

There's no pressure to do anything you don't feel up for, so don't feel like you have to input loads to take part! And if you don't take part at all for any reason, that's also completely fine. Your presence in the fandom is always enough <3
