Every time I see a post that's along the lines of "I don't understand why so many people love Jean Vic", here's the thing-
We don't love him in a regular sense. We're waiting for him to walk around a corner so we can beat him with sticks and shove him in a dirty puddle. Then run off to our observatory to see what he does

I just saw someone compare fictional ship A with troublesome background/dynamic with real people in a couple with a similar troublesome dynamic/background.
You get that is not the same right? Like no matter how much you dislike Ship A, it is still fictional so there is no actual harm being done by people shipping them. Unlike the real life couple where there is a strong likelihood of harm/abuse there (celebrities so no one knows for sure).
I mean, you do understand the difference between fictional and real life people? Right? Right??

“poncho: jedi master edition” is such a good and necessary cal kestis form, seeing him attempt to teach a gaggle of padawans is simply the best thing i could imagine. i hope they also roast him sometimes in true middle schooler fashion <3
ok so i drew this AGES ago (way before the other post) and I think this counts as an excuse to post it! they probably do accidentally roast him a little but one of the ways they forget compassion in lieu of middle schooler "dont care about adults" is:

ever since 266, I saw many people say that because megumi doesn't want to be a jujutsu sorcerer, that means his conclusion doesn't have to have anything to do with using his technique or completing his domain and that him just getting saved is fine, and that is his purpose in the story, and I completely disagree.
Megumi has always treated his technique as a curse in his life, one he had never wanted and one that had always hindered him. he viewed it as a crutch, a weakness, something that controls him rather than him controlling it as its user. it had dictated his life ever since his birth and subsequently forcing him into the gruel jujutsu world, with his father selling and abandoning him, the expectations placed on him by Gojo to surpass him because of his technique, along with now, Sukuna stealing his body, his autonomy, his agency, and his ability to make a choice along with killing his sister and hurting his friends just because of his technique. Him learning that instead of fearing his technique and treating it as something he'll never control or grasp and that its power is way beyond him, he does have the strength and newfound mindset to control it, be its master and be able to completely understand and interpret his technique would be a great way to conclude his character arc and his rocky relationship with his technique.
him completing his domain doesn't have anything to do with jujutsu sorcery. his domain is a representation of his sense of self, his self-identity, his character, so to speak. it being incomplete from the start was to show you that megumi hadn't grasped his sense of self yet, hasn't found an identity unique to himself outside of wanting to save his sister (and later, yuuji) and his complete disregard for his life in general. his incomplete domain is basically showing you his incomplete character. I just can't really fathom the domain not being completed especially after him being at the climax of his character arc. it's more than just a jujutsu thing for megumi's character, it represents him.
also, megumi's purpose this entire arc to just be saved is hardly a good conclusion to his character. his entire life, he'd been stripped of his autonomy, the power to choose, the power to control his life. that was what reggie's curse was: let fate toy with you, become a clown, then die. his conclusion should be him breaking AWAY from that curse, to stop fate from toying with him, and instead of just laying down and letting life kick him over and over, he stands up and finally kicks back, fights against the circumstances, saves himself, instead of doing nothing and just letting others save him. what would be the point, then? he'd be reduced to a literal plot device, whose entire role in the story is to let his body be taken over by sukuna for his technique, and he doesn't even save himself, he just lets others do the work for him. that would be a horrible conclusion. it wouldn't make his dream of wanting a peaceful life earned for me, not because megumi HAS to be useful or has to prove himself to deserve a simple life, but because he hasn't really changed. he's the same as he was before, letting life toy with him over and over and reduced to just the damsel in distress who constantly needs others to do the work for him.
I want him to fight back. I want him to save himself. I want him to put in the work to change his fate.

Surprise, it's happened. Got a little bit of a hyperfixation on my own DnD character right now, lol.
Her name is Unavar and she's a big buff half-orc druid. Second picture is a comfy drawing of her as a little kid with one of her moms.
Now I'm in the dnd artist camp of "a lot of the stuff I want to draw right now are things I can't post, because it's unrevealed backstory stuff and there's potential that my party members might find it" >:[

So it turns out there's a big craft guild organization thing only a few hours from where I live (I saw an ad for their craft fair), and I got like half my holiday shopping done on their website, and the box arrived today! The thing I was most excited to see in person is fragile, though, and it's really well wrapped in bubble wrap and I don't want it to break when I mail it to the friend it's for, so I am not unwrapping it, but oh man the temptation is there lol I also got myself a little metal bug made of a bottle cap and some wire. It lives on my little corkboard where I put postcards and thank you cards now

OF BLESSED THYME & THISTLE | Chapter 1 | Page 7
Masterlist of Pages
Faramir’s cousin, Lothiriel, comes to Minas Tirith to become a companion of his new bride, Eowyn, something that he hopes will ease Eowyn’s rough transition into Gondorian Society. Eowyn, for her part, decides her new companion would in turn make the perfect bride for her brother, Eomer King of Rohan. Matchmaking shenanigans ensue 😏
lol Be prepared to be VERY peeved by some of the main antagonists in this fancomic over the span of the next few pages,,, Faramir's Auntie Terenis (Denethor's sister) and her late husband's niece Lady I’Rhetha (whom Terenis had been plotting for years for Faramir to marry, so imagine her bitterness when he married one of those "uncouth northerners" instead of HER prized niece) are kinda the worst kinda people 😬
Also I tried something new (simple) way of drawing Eowyn's headdress but i kinda hate it so rip my hand i gotta go back to painstakingly drawing every embellishment. That or next scene making her headdress less complicated 😅

ppl aren't gonna like this one but having completely selfish motivations is fine, actually. Acting on sheer self-interest isn't actually inherently harmful. Harm is done when you infringe on someone's autonomy or work against their capacity to thrive.
Selfishness doesn't actually seek that out, in fact, it doesn't look at that at all. That's why it's so often a problem, when your forethought starts and ends at selfishness alone, you're likely to crash someone else's wellbeing, because you're not regarding it at all.
But, and this is crucial, the motivations for one's actions do not actually dictate how they're carried out. The motive is merely why you're doing it. The how is a whole other question, quite literally.
This cuts both ways. One can, with completely selfish motivations, do something that benefits others, or at least in a way that does. There's no rule saying personal gain necessarily must come at another's expense. And conversely, a selflessly motivated action can actualy fuck someone's whole life up if taken carelessly.
So yeah. Purely selfish motivations do not necessitate acting against the best interests of others, they just don't inherently forbid it. It's entirely possible to act on selfish motive, but benefit others along the way.
Understanding this is key to truly internalizing how the material impact of something is its own Thing separate from the thought and intent behind it, and quite frankly, the actual important part. Yes, there are situations in which learning a motive was selfish may diminish the positive impact of something, but if I give you $20 just so I can get $50 from somewhere else, you still got $20, and it's not somehow an Evil $20 just because I had my eyes on the fifty when I did it.
