I figured if Wheatley were a human he would probably be part of a team that cares for test subjects. Which involves basic medical checkups and general wellness checks. Maybe in Chells case, since she’s so anti-social, he was tasked to be a sort of companion so they could get more information out of her for testing purposes. :3 he’s classified as a nurse and has basic training in it. But he’s not making sense because he’s kinda scared of Chell at first. She just thinks he’s weird and kinda smells bad.

Basically her mother was too young and poor to raise a child so she felt it better to put Chell up for adoption. The orphanage she was raised in was being used by aperture to scout out children with certain “exceptional skills”. They noticed that Chell was highly intelligent and a great problem solver, but had no interest in spending time with others. She had no friends. And none of the other children noticed or cared when she left. She was probably adopted by a high ranking scientist and raised for the specific purpose of testing. She has little concept of social norms or things outside of aperture because she was taken from a “normal” environment so young. [like. Before she was 10 maybe? Idk.] but it doesn’t mean she’s dumb or anything, she just doesn’t really get it yk. Sorry if this is actually so stupid and embarrassing ignore me

okay so first and foremost, i think yes, he is clingy, but controversially i believe he keeps his cool at the begining of a relationship. when you go on dates with him in the first 1-2 months he is out to impress you and although he's still super sweet and caring, he would make sure you're vibing in the same we he is, getting to know you and your personality so he can judge how to approach it, especially if he really, really likes you. once he knows you both connect well enough, i think that is when he goes into the puppy mode that we all know and adore about him.

after you guys are together, or at least exclusive, he would be so touchy but in such a 'i just like to have contact with you' way. so if you are walking he would grab your hand loosely or if someone was coming in the other direction, he would kinda place his hand on your back or arm to guide you out the way. sometimes he won't do it intentionally, he just subconsciously loves skin-to-skin contact.

cuddles! loves them, can't get enough and i don't think he would care who cuddles who, he just loves it (again, back to the skinship thing). he would hug you from behind, on the couch, lay his head on your lap, if you'r in bed i think he either has you lay ontop of him or vice versa while you watch a movie, if you sleep, he will have a leg or arm drapped over you like he starfishes the bed etc etc. physical touch is absolutely a love language of his.

quality time is another way he expresses love. he might not get to see you often between work etc. but he will always make time, even if its coming over to yours for dinner, even if he can't spend the night, he will make sure he is a presence in your life. he is with another member or his family a lot, so i do think he loves being in the company of others even if you do nothing but scroll through youtube videos together and sit in silence, he appreciates you just simply beside him. he would also just love doing mundane things with you, like shopping for groceries or getting a midnight snack when you both can't sleep. he just loves being around you any chance he gets, he would be w someone he is super comfortable with, like a best friend, so you would do everything and nothing together when you had the time.

you need to get along with his family and friends, no doubt about it. he will make it such a bit deal and then tell you 'no pressure' lmao, but he seriously wouldn't introduce you if he didn't think they would like you. his mum (and riki/hee tbh) are who you need to get approval from, he values them so dearly that he would ask them thoughts. because he is a mums boy, she's gonna be a bit jarring at first bc thats her baby but eh, if you're nice and treat him well you'll be grand. once you get the go ahead, he's gonna take you to EVERY family outing, or at least invite you, you'll become part of his family so easily because he wont give you the chance not to.

so funny!! will make you laugh even unintentionally but will get pouty if you laugh a little too hard at him, esp if he makes a mistake or says something dumb. he doesn't want his ego bruised but he can take a laugh. texts memes and jokes to you, yapping 247 and making it so easy to fall in love with him.

oh okay heres one:

"sleepaway camp"= you go there for at least a few days, a week, sometimes several weeks, and sleep there, as opposed to a """camp""" where you go for the day and your parents or whoever picks you up afterward (those arent really camps, but like. idk when i went to "space camp" it was a weeklong but not sleepaway). in the U.S. at least, the typical image of a sleepaway camp involves staying in cabins, dunno how common it is/what it looks like in other countries.

for the first few i just mean like. not necessarily a stealth church camp, just like. idk, a camp where theres also an Assumption Of Christianity and just general vibes without being actually church camp. Duke reeeaalllyyy does not get paid enough for this.

Good news, he was able to get the names of the dealers and suppliers and also narrowed down the places of interest to three warehouses. All he had to do was drop that info onto the server for the night crew, and that was that, not his problem anymore.

Bad news, the car is becoming his problem.

When Duke entered the cave, he could see the wheels turning, and not in a sick burnout way Jason does anytime he gets behind the wheel, they were just turning left and right. Then to add more insult to Duke's attempt at ignoring it, the car opened its driver door in what may have been a mockery of a greeting. Honestly, Duke could have also ignored that but then it seemed to fucking Panic and set off its own alarms and proceed to flail all the doors open and reverse to the point that the back wheels made it off the platform and into the gutter that runs though the cave. If Duke was a betting man, and he was, he would bet that whatever possessed or replaced the Batmobile was so incompetent that he had to worry more about Its safety from the Batfam. Whether that was protection from arrest or adoption is still up in the air.

Either way, this is becoming Duke's problem. He is really not paid enough for this. Time to calm down a sentient car.

“Hey, car buddy? You ok?”

Duke wasn't sure what he was expecting when he was talking to a car of all things, but absolute silence wasn’t it. Was this thing going to try to play car now? After everything that just happened? Duke slowly walked up to the driver's side door and looked in for the green blob person, only to see them in the back seat sprawled out. Duke tried to not think too hard while putting the car back in its spot, but the list of facts he has so far kept ticking.

1. The Batmobile has a new passenger or has been replaced

2. The thing/person is not good at hiding, so probably not a villain plot

2a. If it is a villain plot, they got the absolutely wrong person to do it

2aa. Possible meta forced to spy?

3. The person just freaked out so hard they fainted after setting off the Batmobile alarms.

4. Alfred will know what to do right?

5. Try to communicate again with the person in the car.

It didn't take long for the blur on the backseat to shift again. Luckily they didn't immediately jump into the driver's seat, where Duke still sat. Duke turned to look in the backseat, time to start this interrogation.

“Hey, you ok?” Duke was happy that he was able to see the head nod that the fuzzy blur gave.

“That's good. Now, I can't see you too well, but we can work out some basic questions, alright?” Another head nod answered him.

"Are you in danger? Like, did someone force you to do this?” The head shake that was produced shook the car. Duke internally sighed in relief, not a villain plot or meta trafficking gone wrong.

“So this was just an accident, and I am guessing you are now stuck?” Duke knew he was not as good at body language reading as the others, but the wave of embarrassment and resignation this blob was giving off confirmed that whoever/whatever this is, was not a total threat.
