gundham for the ask game?? i lov him
GUNDHAM GODDAMN TANAKA MY FIRST LOVE IN DANGANRONPA
Favorite thing about him: His dialect is sososo fun and interesting to analyze. I think he's the main reason I became so obsessed with analyzing and making up my own canon compliant dialect for Vivia. Gundham sparked that fire of dissecting metaphors n analogies and translating them to better understand his behavior and how he conveys his thoughts and feelings through speech. It's incredibly entertaining to write for him, so much so that about two years ago I made my own ask blog for him being in Dead By Daylight's universe. Gotta combine the brainrots of the time somehow.
Least favorite thing about him: Out of all the members of the Ultimate Despair, Gundham feels the least likely to ever end up on their side. It has just never sat right with me that he would fall into despair that easily in the anime, especially since he fought so hard against it in the game. I understand that Chiaki meant a lot to her classmates, but her death doesn't feel like the straw that should break the camel's back for Gundham, notably because he's the one who will literally fight to the death to revive everyone else's morale. The anime is a guilty pleasure of mine, but I refuse to believe that he'd give in to despair that easy. I like his Ultimate Despair design though, it's rad. Too bad we only get to see it once.
Favorite line: He has soooooooooo many iconic and fantastic lines it's not fair to choose one, but I will restrain myself just this once. "Because I, the one who has claimed dominion over evil, am the Ultimate Weapon! I am he who cuts the insolent catalyst which flows out from the chaos with the sword of victory… It's only fitting that I deserve to be called the Ultimate Weapon…!" The fact that he called himself the Ultimate Weapon because he utilized the funhouse's secret after he discovered it in order to kill Nekomaru HURTS REAL BAD. He planted hints to him being the culprit throughout the entire trial because it was never his intent to get away with his murder at all, especially since he fully expected to be the victim himself. He and Nekomaru sacrificed themselves so that the others could live on. I cry.
BROTP: Gundham and Gonta are such a sweet duo in UTDP and Summer, they deserve so many more interactions. They get to exchange their love of all different types of animals with each other until they're walking National Geographic magazines.
OTP: SONDAM! They match each other's dorkiness to a T. Autumn is their season and nobody can take it away from them. Horror movie dates are always a pleasure. They're obnoxious talkers in the theaters, but I'd let them ramble to their heart's content.
NOTP: I'm the type of person who's chill with a lotta different pairings if the shipper(s) make it work. However, one pair I can never imagine being romantically involved is Gundham and Hiyoko. He doesn't give two shits about her bullying him for his eccentrics, but he definitely greatly disapproves of her abuse toward animals. She's trying to better herself post-game, but it'll definitely take a while for her misdeeds to be forgiven by Gundham and they can work toward being on friendly terms.
Random headcanon: Due to isolating himself from others, Gundham never really took the time to question his romantic orientation. That is, until he was accepted into Hope's Peak Academy and was surrounded by other students. He swiftly came to terms with his romantics towards certain people, as sparse as he shows it. Nekomaru and Sonia definitely pushed those unknown feelings into deeper consideration, as he admittedly crushed on both of them at some point and has ultimately fallen for Sonia. He fights with himself every now and then over his feelings, but overall he views his orientation as simply natural, unchanged by time. In regards to his asexuality, he occasionally makes comments to conceal his distaste for raunchy things and attempt to fit in, pushed into doing so by his insecurities, but he recognizes its his true nature to abstain from such desires. Intimacy is romantic for him, and that's all that it has to be for him to be happy.
Unpopular opinion: I have no idea if any of my thoughts could really be classified as unpopular, but I'll toss something unusual out. Connecting to what I've stated earlier, I wish Gundham was shown fighting back more against the brainwashing in the anime. If they had the time, it'd be interesting to see the absolute extremes Junko would have to go through to crush Gundham's unwavering spirit. We could get real dark by having his mom killed in front of him. This forces him to accept that without her, only nature is on his side now, as humanity is beyond saving and what he's committing as an Ultimate Despair is a mercy killing.
Song(s) I associate with him: Kyrie by Mr. Mister cause the angelic imagery makes me sob profusely aughhhh... Eighth Wonder by Lemon Demon and When You Die by MGMT are runner-ups!
Favorite picture of him: This art piece I was gifted as part of a Silent Hill Tumblr Mutuals discord server's Secret Santa, featuring Gundham n Carmina/The Artist from Dead By Daylight, who I made ask blogs for and so deeply love imagining being the bestest of buds!

My Ttte Designs (Percy):
Tumblr media
Headcanons:
Friendly, chill, mature, smug and can be a snarker sometimes. His personality was based on the more grumpier Percy that appeared in the classic series.
Caterpillar? Nah, they're a green centipede. Still, don't call them "Dirty Percy".
Is a lot less emotionally intelligent than canon Percy. Good thing when you're trying not to be manipulated and you're trying to stand up for yourself and your friends. Bad thing when your friends need emotional support and you end up giving them shit advice.
Demiboy and questioning. Uses he/him and they/them pronouns. He's trying to figure out what kind of people he's interested in. Girls and boys are off the list but he has a slight attraction to other genders. That being said, if's they're ever in a relationship, it just might be queerplatonic.
Loves analog horror like the Mandela Catalog, the Boiled One Phenomenon, etc. Heck. he ever brought the Boiled One plush.
Also they love ugly/creepy plushies and giving one to somebody means that they care for that person deeply. So if he ever gives you a fucked up plush, don't throw away. It probably means that you're one of his loved ones.
Their human age is 21 while their actual age is unknown since their og engine basis isn't a real one. However, they did get rebuilt into an actual engine basis following their REDACTED. The engine basis that they were rebuilt into is unfortunately unknown as well.
Is a fan of weirdcore and rap music. His favorite artists are Jack Stauber, Eminem and Connor Price.
Is the second oldest sibling between Pluto, Phillip, them and Mavis. Toby and Henrietta are their adopted parents.
Real name is Percival but just likes to be called Percy.
His left eye is blind while his right eye is fine. So his vision ends up looking extremely weird.
They're taller than Toby but is shorter than Emily.
SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT HEADCANONS!!!!
He used to be like his canon counterpart. Extremely naive, kind and gullible. He was Thomas' best friend, was confused about long words and was the sweetest engine in the Steam Team. At that time, Percy was 18, Thomas was 15.
Toby was extremely close to him as well, basically forming a father-son relationship with the saddletank engine.
That all changed when the tank engine suffered a series of accidents to ensure that he will never be the same....
First, in TOTB, Percy gets caught in a landside trying to save James like in the movie. The difference however was that Percy's left arm and right leg got DESTROYED and had to be amputated since they were damaged beyond repair. He was given wooden prosthetics to help him with his work but become extremely irritable and moody afterwards.
This then leads to him growing resentment towards Thomas, James and the others when Belle and Flynn were introduced in DOTD. All of the events from the movie are pretty much the same like Percy being manipulated by Diesel 10 except for two key differences: Diesel 10's plan involves more than taking over the Steamworks and actually wanting to BURN DOWN Sodor and there are some nice diesels like BoCo and Mavis who were roped into Diesel 10's plan, believing that Diesel 10 was advocating for equal treatment for diesels.
At the Steamworks where Diesel 10 was ready to burn it down, Percy gathers all of the steam engines, the nice diesels and Sir Topham Hatt to try and stop the maniacal diesel. This leads to a violent confrontation until Diesel 10 rips the left side of Percy's face OFF, leaving Percy with a half mutilated face. Furious by this, Thomas charges towards Diesel 10, angrily knocking him into the wall.
Above Thomas was the giant mechanical claw used to lift engines up when they were being repaired, came loose and was about to hit Thomas in the head. But in the last moment, Percy pushed Thomas out of the way and got a concussion. Toby, completely devasted, ran to the saddletank engine and started begging him to wake up. Enraged, Sir Topham Hatt banished Diesel 10 to the smelters' yard as punishment and Percy was sent to the Mainland for repairs.
In the Mainland, the workers were able to stich the left side of his face back together and were about to gave Percy new metal prosthetic limbs when they realized that they didn't enough supplies to make them. So in a desperate attempt, they went to the scrapyards of a random railway and used the remains of a gray diesel to make the prosthetics. Percy was stuck in the Mainland for 3 years.
When Percy finally came back to Sodor, everybody were overjoyed to see him okay but something was wrong with the tank engine. He didn't remember anything about Sodor.
It eventually took some time but Percy finally remembered about his old friends and his old home. But he also found a chilling discovery as well...

Tumblr media
The most transgressive film produced by a major American studio in the 1930s, Tod Browning’s crowning achievement has haunted the margins of cinema for nearly one hundred years. An unforgettable cast of real-life sideshow performers portray the entertainers in a traveling circus who, shunned by mainstream society, live according to their own code—one of radical acceptance for the fellow oppressed and, as the show’s beautiful but cruel trapeze artist learns, of terrifying retribution for those who cross them. Received with revulsion by viewers upon its initial release, Freaks effectively ended Browning’s career but can now be seen for what it is: an audacious cry for understanding and a singular experience of nightmarish, almost avant-garde power.
Tumblr media
The most celebrated and exquisitely perverse of the many collaborations between Tod Browning and his legendary leading man Lon Chaney, The Unknown features a wrenchingly physical performance from “the Man of a Thousand Faces” as the armless Spanish knife thrower Alonzo (he flings daggers with his feet) whose dastardly infatuation with his beautiful assistant (Joan Crawford)—a woman, it just so happens, who cannot bear to be touched by the hands of any man—drives him to unspeakable extremes. Sadomasochistic obsession, deception, murder, disfigurement, and a spectacular Grand Guignol climax—Browning wrings every last frisson from the lurid premise.
Tumblr media
A fantastically atmospheric but rarely seen missing link in the development of Tod Browning’s artistry, set amid his favored milieu of shadowy sideshows and clever criminals, The Mystic provides a striking showcase for silent-era diva Aileen Pringle, who sports a series of memorably outré looks (courtesy of art-deco designer Erté) as Zara, a phony psychic in a Hungarian carnival who, under the guidance of a Svengali-like con man (Conway Tearle), crashes—and proceeds to swindle—American high society. Browning’s fascination with the weird is on full display in the eerie séance sequences, while his subversive moral ambiguity extends surprising sympathy to even the most seemingly irredeemable of antiheroes.

What if we reimagined all of the other non-Teridax Makuta as eldritch horrors, just as Teridax was initially presented in the early years of Bionicle? What if we used each Makuta as a prompt of sorts; What if THEY were the big villain terrorizing an island, their individual name unknown so they’re just THE Makuta to the local Toa and Matoran? Make each one feel worthy of the title of Makuta, with their depictions in Karda Nui being akin to physical, humanoid avatars meant to interact with others, just as the scheming Teridax is like for the vortex from MNOG?
Like for example, Chirox! You have this swarm of spiders known as the Visorak, led by one massive spider, known as Makuta. The Visorak mutate their victims, before dragging them back to their master.
Makuta is a spider-like entity that emerges from a cave, using his spindly limbs to grapple with and analyze his victims... Potentially drawing upon them for inspiration, before tearing and prying them apart into their base pieces, adding them to his massive collection. From these recycled parts, Makuta creates more Visorak, or dreaded Rahi creatures that wreak havoc on the ecosystem. Like Makuta, they are poison, destruction incarnate; They always inherit his twisted spirit that destroys.
That’s all Makuta does, even when he does create; He inevitably just destroys. Instead of coming up with new things on his own, he relies on Fate to mutate the living into something random, hoping chance will eventually grant him a working design for Makuta to copy. You could say Makuta has no real ideas of his own, and is a gambler, a parasite, betting something will come along for him to take.
But isn’t destruction the same as creation, isn’t destroying his victims necessary to make things? That’s where the imagery of the spider comes into play; Its long, spindly limbs? They’re fingers. Makuta is not just a spider, he is a hand; The same hand that reaches into the parts bin to make new creations, plays with MoCs before tearing them apart to make something new. Just as Teridax represents the parts bin, Chirox is the builder’s hand, like in the Lego Movie, or Super Smash Bros.
Each Visorak is like a hand of its own, grabbing victims, reassembling them randomly with mutation. Dragging them back to Chirox, whose hand motif is also inspired from the fact that he is the only Makuta who can fully control his Shadow Hand. And Makuta’s spider-like form? It’s attached to something much, MUCH bigger... It is not just a hand metaphorically, it is a literal hand and when Makuta’s lair collapses around him, it reveals the massive figure he is attached to; His whole, true self, a titan more resembling the Chirox we are familiar with.
The others are different angles and facets to approach the myth, the legend of the Makuta; Different re-imaginings, just as people came up with their own G3 and their own take on Makuta. Just like the Makuta contest we had for G2. Vamprah can represent the animalistic side of Makuta; The raging, kicking, screaming beast he was once described as by Vakama. The apex predator, for if his minions are the Rahi beasts, he is the greatest of them all.
Or Bitil! A temporal entity, haunted by his past selves, constantly summoned by his future self. Always going through different iterations, just as a MoC is frequently edited, redone, rebuilt; You can track his transformation, his evolution across his many selves; Makuta represents the existential horror of the timeline, of the way things change. A ghost of the past, and also a vision of the future. If the Vahi is central to the tale of Bionicle as the Mask of Time, what about Makuta as someone who constantly exploits and distorts this force?
Those are some of my initial ideas. Makuta needn’t always be this faceless force of nature, they can be a humanized figure, like Krika, who can be a sympathetic, tragic villain doomed by the narrative, consigned to his role and aware of it as part of a meta discussion; Miserix is the mighty dragon our knights must slay; The Makuta of Stelt, a land of merchants and commerce, the all-consuming force of corporatism that stifles creativity, or a bargaining devil. Gorast is a fanatical priestess hoping to bring in a new age, Mutran the quintessential mad scientist who played god and flew too close to the sun in his obsession.
Spiriah is a corrupt lord seething over his failures, who transformed and resents his people the Skakdi and must be rebelled against; Tridax is a multiversal collector providing commentary on adaptations; The Vortixx hope to harness the ultimate weapon that is Antroz; Kojol is the arcane keeper of knowledge like Lucifer, who stole the Light of enlightenment from the land of thinkers and is burned for it; And Icarax? A completely straightforward dark lord to conquer, as he always intended to be. Each plays the role of Makuta, as the final villain, the ultimate evil who started this conflict, whom our protagonists must rise to eventually vanquish.

My thoughts about Judge Doom from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988)
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is one of my all time favourite movies since childhood, I would call it a perfect mix of comedy, satire, adventure, detective, drama, thriller and horror. And I want to discuss a little bit about the main antagonist, Judge Doom, who is the most sinister, unpredictable and mysterious character of the movie.
Tumblr media
Yep, his skull cane already makes it eloquently clear which personality we will be dealing with.
Tumblr media
He is the embodiment of Death. Cruel, unnatural and unfair death, not a force of nature. I'm so glad they aired Christopher Lloyd for this role instead of Tim Curry — Lloyd's performance is awesome in how terrifying his character is, and nobody would nail that aspect ever. Since his first introduction Doom gives that feeling of uncanny valley, when you see a human, but feel that there's something wrong with him, that it is not human, it is something that pretends to behave like a human, and this human shape is just a mask that hides something creepy and dangerous. Similar thing you usually feel toward clowns, for example. His movements are nearly robotic, his face has no natural and normal expressions the living human would make, and he never blinks in the entire movie. In Lloyd's performance it is a sinister and cold murderer in the clothes of a judge. Near the end, his transformation with revealing his toon nature is so scary also because of the contrasts — in human form he is really sinister, calm, cold and strict with tiny yet memorable sadistic outbursts, but as soon as there's no need to hide, he becomes this crazy, bloodthirsty and terrifying abomination.
Tumblr media
As a kid, I wasn't scared so much at 1st watching the movie at night, my reaction was "Am I watching a kids movie or a horror movie now?", yet I enjoyed that. As an adult I respect the actor and filmmakers for great writing and performing and appreciate how masterfully they made the horror angle of the character and the story. I also wonder, who created him, and how Doom actually looked, because we see only these mad red eyes and yellow hand he can transform into everything. Plus, when the dip kills him, there's only yellow color, nothing else. Simply saying, Judge Doom is basically a shapeshifter, yet the yellow color is his true color, i.e. his true form. On another side, I'm very glad that the authors kept in mystery, what Doom really looked like and who he was, because that makes the fear of unknown stronger, as well as we fear him exactly because of unknown. Not to mention that, I think, no toon design would ever top over this horrifying human-toon we see near the end of the movie. If we are talking about the question "Who created Doom?", I have two assumptions that can be answers — Doom was created either by horror writer/artist (who can be a criminal and serial killer as well) or by other toons, who became criminals, that lead us to other two questions — what they used for bringing toons to life (what substance), and was Doom so evil since his "birth" or some circumstances and events made him what he is? I have some thoughts about this, but I will mention them a bit later.
Tumblr media
I vaguely remember, people assumed that Doom's true form is this possum toon. I rewatched the movie, and it actually makes a lot of sense. Like, I noticed that the hat, the clothes, the color of hat and clothes are incresdibly similar to Doom's clothes, also the gun is the same to the one Doom uses (and the exact visual hint to it in the scene with Maroone's death), yet nobody talks about this character, as if he was forgotten and overshadowed by Roger and hence he doesn't exist anymore, but posters with him can be seen during the entire movie. Although it is unclear, whether his fur is yellow (it is more creamy, I guess, but it can be a simple lighting), but his eyes are exactly red, evil, with tiny shade of crazyness and have the same shape Judge Doom has. Possum toon apparently doesn't have teeth or has small sharp teeth usual for possums, Judge Doom has human dentures. Plus, for possum it makes sense to have a squeaky voice and to be fast and with great advantage to hide. So no wonder, why Eddy remembered only red eyes and squeaky voice. We have shapeshifting possum toon, who can take lots of various forms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If it is Doom's true form, no wonder, why the authors kept it in mystery. Some yellow shapeshifter with diabolic red eyes and scary high-pitched voice, hiding under the mask of a pale and almost bold human in black (also scary looking) terrifies a lot. If they revealed this possum, audience wouldn't take it seriously anymore. So, about Judge Doom's background and motivation — he literally wanted to genocide all toons. At the same time he himself is a toon. So, why he wanted to do this? Maybe more sense for him to feel anger and wrath toward humans instead of own kind? I have two explanations to this: 1. Personal. The movie hints many details about Doom's past. He was a criminal, a gangster, who robbed a bank, murdered Eddy's brother, became the judge of Toontown, using manipulations, lie and money, and has weasel gangsters as his minions. Since Doom became a judge and has strong influence, he is very intelligent, calculating, cunning and experienced, so he was always a leader. The movie gives parallels with racism, where toons basically are oppressed by humans. Toons can't get serious jobs, they can only entertain humans as actors, singers and dancers, i.e. clowns and toys in fact, and humans mostly don't treat toons as equal living beings. So, toons, who don't want this humilation, basically become criminals. Simply saying, Judge Doom is a victim and a product of this injustice. Doom has self-hatred (or self-loath) issues, since instead of fighting for rights of toons he decided to become a human, an oppressor, the one who is higher than toons and free from restrictions in life, i.e. a human has a choice in how to make own destiny and fate in contrast to a toon (in Doom's eyes). We have an internalized racism theme in the movie. If a society has injustice and is okay with it, it can birth the scariest and the most destructive monsters. In this case, it is good that Judge Doom is a shapeshifter with no true face — he is the symbol of this injustice and its consequences. 2. Pragmatic. In fact, Doom is the only being, who knows how to create the dip, the only what can kill a toon. If he genocided all toons, he'd stay the only toon in the world. Immortal, invincible, nothing can kill him, and since he is a shapeshifter, who can change form and voice and hide under a mask of a human, nobody would be able to find and reveal him, nobody would be able to catch and kill him. Nobody would ever have any idea of who he is. Nobody would ever know how to kill a toon. Nobody would ever know that there's a toon still exists. So Doom would be absolutely free for committing murders or becoming a politician and getting more and more influence and power, he would be the master of own life and fate and destiny. Nobody would ever stop that embodiment of madness and death.
Tumblr media
That is a pure horror Eddy prevented to happen. Eddy not only avenged his brother, not only overcame his trauma and fear, he saved both toons and even the world.

The Unseen Terror Of Alien
Just rewatched Ridley Scott's masterpiece, Alien (1979), and I'm once again blown away by its sheer brilliance. This isn't just a movie, it's an experience that leaves you on the edge of your seat, heart pounding.
The beauty of Alien lies in its simplicity. A crew, a ship, and an unknown entity. The horror isn't just from the alien itself, but the claustrophobic atmosphere and the constant dread of the unknown.
The design of the Xenomorph, by H.R. Giger, is nothing short of terrifying. It's not just a monster; it's a living, breathing embodiment of our deepest fears. Its life cycle, from the facehugger to the chestburster, is the stuff of nightmares.
Sigourney Weaver's performance as Ripley is iconic. She's not just a survivor; she's a fighter. Her character broke the mold for women in sci-fi and remains one of the most influential characters in cinema history.
The tagline of the movie, "In space, no one can hear you scream," perfectly encapsulates the feeling of isolation and helplessness that permeates throughout the film.
Alien is a timeless classic that continues to influence the sci-fi and horror genres. It's a testament to Ridley Scott's vision and a reminder that sometimes, the most terrifying monsters are the ones we can't see.

Art and design by my dearly beloved:
Smokey
Real name : Victor Wilson
Age : around 26 yo
possible victor lore
used to be victor by marble hornets standards known as smokey
a dropout uni student with raging nicotine addiction (smokey did not retain any uni info but vic used to be psych student (projecting much lol))
prolly watched marble hornets with friends for fun and against better judgement decided to give a visit to rosswood park thinking its a film project in the beginning
turns out its not and they spotted the lanky guy
smokey the horror movie enthusiast wants out at that point before shize goes down but its late and they r deep in the forest so comes to conclusion they r all p much dead at this point
peeps want to go hunt for the lanky man cus cool and internet views
my guy is like f that yall r following basic horror lore of everyone dies im not playin like that and straight up says hes not going and hed rather go and sleep in the burned down psych ward
he gets called a wimp but decides if hes gonna die hes not dying an idiot and decides to vidtape everything on his mid tier phone camera
not sure what happens to the rest but they do their meet cute w slendy and prolly with time like half of em ends up in the arko e way or another
smokey manages most of the night fine but like luck would have it still end up meeting the guy
does not go well
wakes up in the burned down hospital not remembering the last unknown time and broken phone beyond repair
decides oho this is bad lets go back to uni and never talk abt it
meets with most friends back at uni but like 2 of em r missing and they just pretend nothing happened, friend group dissolves
after that he starts slowly having memory gaps, waking up in other places
all comes to head when it turns out he missed 5 months of uni after he wakes up back in rosswood really far from home and skinnier than ever and suddenly no more uni student
after that victor surfaces less and less till hes just kinda gone at that point
Smokey first shows up the night victor goes with friends to rosewood
in the beginning surfaces confused unsure who they are and what is their purpose
with time smokey goes through both phone and computer of vics
binges whole marble hornets in one sitting and decides he has a personal vendetta against the operator
since then they work on somehow stoping it (and terribly fails given the lack of information) leading to continuous trips back to rosewood and sleepovers in the rubble of the ex psych ward
figuring out the nicotine addiction takes a bit of time and leads to pretty nasty withdrawal symptoms as well as a very wrecked dorm room (he does find the cigarettes tho and is smart enough to connect the dots (smart cookie, here have a star sticker))
smokey learns asl and isolates themself a lot in the months of operator research
he still maintains two personas to some extends which is one the masked smokey who uses mostly asl and rarely speaks (to some extent also a tactic against being caught by police) and times when he goes without mask on library searches and grocery shoppings
smokey starts a yt channel dedicated to catching the operator and ending it which attracts at best some people commenting on obvious marble hornets ripoff and few cents into his wallet
with passing time they do start finding victims in order to keep themselves alive n appease the the big slinky leading to series of alleged suicides then turned to series of murders
he starts off with two of his ex friends who go back to rosewood and start showing symptoms he learned from mh
When they commit murder they hide in the trunk of the car and basically hotbox the whole thing due to smoking making the victim whoozy and confused, moving on they connect a pipe (like garden hose or whatevs) to the exhaustion pipe and suffocate their victims with the car smoke
the thing that tips off the police is the nicotine in the system of every victim and an account of almost to be one that got stalked by smokey who upon being discovered (also while smoking and which earned him the name) decided to bolt
since then he continues on just about the same, aka researching the operator, finding new victims and surviving untill they meet Something
His hoodie is dark green, the mask is greyish from the grime n dirt, the big cross on it is black so are his pants and hair

Something
Real name : Rae Dyer
Age : 23 before transformation, currently unknown
Something used to be a cryptid fan. They worked at a radio station and had a small night show where they played old rock and often rambled about the latest creature they heard about. While out, looking for a new creature to maybe see, they stumbled upon the Slenderman and became obsessed to document it somehow, quickly spiraling out of control and slowly, bit by bit became a creature themselves.
Something doesn't remember much from it's past life. It used to just wander, guided by the static in it's head towards it's victims, always terrified itself but not knowing why. After Smokey found it, they started wandering together. At first they had serious communication issues - Something only able to speak in tap code and Smokey mainly using ASL - but with time they learned to speak with each other, and now they can understand the other almost without words.
Something doesn't really eat, it survives on fear and between itself and Smokey, it always has more than enough of it. It does steal food for Smokey tho, cigarettes as well, usually leaving them in whatever ruined building he decided to stay in for the night. Something got also addicted to nicotine by just being around Smokey so much, leading to separation anxiety fueled by withdrawal when they're apart.
Something cannot speak, and can only communicate using tap code. When it's particularly worried or scared it does emit a small noise, that sounds like a particularly breathy whine, and more commonly when it tries to speak, quiet spider like ticking can be heard coming from it's mouths.
It usually walks hunched over, used to having to duck under branches, entryways, etc bc of it's height.
Something has pale skin reminiscent of porcelain, and is usually wearing a v neck sweater with a white undershirt and jeans or other pants. It's hair is very thin and scarce, floating around it's head down to it's lower back
Also a tiny doodle bonus of how I imagine these two showing up on Jacks doorstep xjbxbcbcb
Tumblr media
We think the most probable case of them showing up would be Smokey getting bonked on a mission (probably by a car or a would be victim) and Something bringing them over to Jacks cabin to get pached up, tho feel free to do something else ya might think fits =w=
Again, thank you so much for the offer, we're both so honored to have the opportunity to show these two off and maybe if you're so inclined getting them a chapter in ur amazing fic<3
If u have any questions you need answered Abt the two don't hesitate to ask them as well! ^^

... ⠀⠀יִיִ⠀𝃣 ⠀⠀ writeblr intro ⠀⠀ 💌 ⠀⠀ ── ⠀⠀ ;
hello ! my name is third king january but feel free to call me third or january ( or any other nickname you'd like ) ! i'm a twenty two year old black lesbian pursuing a graphic design major with a minor in art history and creative writing—considering media studies—who uses they/them pronouns !
ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ :⠀ 🍓. i think this may be my third or fourth time trying out a writeblr, but the other attempts didn't go well since i was busy and didn't put a lot of effort into interacting with my mutuals </3. this time around, i really want to be a part of the community and be more supportive of everyone's writing! my goal for this account is to share my wips, any writing, and keep motivated to do more than just stare at a blank document for hours </3.
i'm a big reader and i plan to share some of my recently reads on this blog. please feel free to send me book recs if you think it's something i might like or if you just wanna ramble about something you read that you really liked! my favorite genres are horror, magical realism, fairy tales and fantasy. i love beautiful prose that's almost poetic and ambiguous writing that has you questioning everything until the grand reveal.
my favorite books are: bunny by mona awad, deathless by catherine m. valente, and how to win the time war by amal el-mohtar and max gladstone. the last two books helped me understand the kind of writing style i want to strive for as did poetry !! i don't have a whole lot of fav poems, but worm king's lullaby by richard siken is one that's always spinning in my head.
alongside reading i like manga, webtoons, videogames, and anime. my all time favorite anime is hyouka followed by angel beats and clannad. my favorite webtoon is omniscient reader's viewpoint and i can't recommend it enough. it's soosososo good! ( i started with the webtoon before switching to the novel bc i was too impatient to wait for the updates ) my favorite games are the halo series and oxenfree.
other interests of mine include music, drawing, art, watching youtube videos, journaling, horror movies, and sleeping 😴. i have a few graphic novels / webcomics in my wips so i'm learning how to draw to make them a reality! i also have a video game that's tied to another wip so i'm getting into coding as well !
please never be shy / afraid to tag me in ask games, send me an ask, or even a message! i also have a discord ( username: thirdking ) if you'd like to add me and message me there. also never think or feel like you're bothering me or anything if you wanna say hi or ramble about your interests. i'm always looking to make new friends !! 😁
i ask that minors don't interact or follow !! thank you !!
i have a handful of wips that's been running laps in my head for some time now but these are the ones ( excluding shorter stories ) that aren't multimedia projects or animation ideas, but i may talk about those anyways 😋 since most of these are still in the outlining stage they're subject to change but i'll make sure to update anything to reflect those changes !
📝 𖹭 ⠀ֵ⠀ wip one ; spring ( technically untitled but springs gna be in the final title )
the story follows two ex band mates reconnecting in their adult years after they parted ways when their front man signed a major record deal.
📝 𖹭 ⠀ֵ⠀ wip two ; sisyphus
sisyphus stars three siblings at the center of a conspiracy 1!1!1 the oldest sibling, an astronaut, goes missing during a privately funded space mission embarking to a new planet found in the solar system. i wouldn't call this a greek retelling, but it does a feature a lot of nods to classic greek myths!
📝 𖹭 ⠀ֵ⠀ wip three ; atwe
atwe follows the mother of a teen superhero getting revenge after her kid is killed by an unknown villain. though it's my own special take on superheroes featuring my personal criticisms on teen heroes, it's also a study on family—in particular—distant family relations and saying i love you a little too late.
📝 𖹭 ⠀ֵ⠀ wip four ; march marchen ( title will definitely change )
march marchen is my sort of alice in wonderland / fairy tale retelling that follows an unnamed girl in what might be wonderland trying to figure out who she is and who she isn't. ft parallel worlds, escapism, the fear of childhood, and the fear of adulthood.
📝 𖹭 ⠀ֵ⠀ wip five ; neapolitan ( title will definitely change )
neapolitan is a magical girl webcomic / graphic novel. the story follows a trio of girls becoming the successors of a long line of ice cream inspired magical girls. ft a bright fun palette, gore, and cannibalism! though it's a webcomic, i intend to give it a novelization from the perspective of a different set of magical girls.
if you'd like to be added to a taglist please send me an ask! it'll be easier for me to keep track ! thank you for reading <3

part 1 of bloodspur. please ignore any grammar errors, i'll fix them accordingly.
warning for talks of feeling helpless and lost, and other things reminiscent of depression and other disorders
“Come on, Aspen! I’m good for it, I swear, just do me this one solid, please!” The man slumps and rests his face on a worn down mahogany table in front of his booth, cupping his hands around his tired expression and resting his head in his palms. The man in front of him scoffs and chuckles wearily to himself before placing his focus back on matter at hand, the beggar. “Nah, man. You've promised me the same thing for 8 months now. Either get your shit together, or beat it, got that?” When he received no answer other than a exasperated whimper from the other like he was on the verge of tears, he slammed his fist on the table and stood up. “Forget it, Angel. Find someone else to help you out." He concluded. His footsteps were loud as he made his exit, the bell at the front of the diner chimed as he finally left, and the vision of him walking away out of sight made Angel’s heart drop. “Screw you too, Aspen. Screw you too." He whispered. A tall woman with her hair in a bun and an 80s style waitress outfit walked towards his booth with two plates, one with eggs, bacon and two large pancakes, and the other with a cheese omelet and hashbrowns. “You're food, sir!" She said, placing them in front of the man. He just stares at the plate, a ever growing sickly feeling in his stomach churning like a swirling storm as his vision becomes less focused and blurs. He gulps and laughs awkwardly, “May I take this to go actually?" By the time he left the diner, which hadn't been that long a wait, it had started to rain. "Just my luck”, he thought, and he was right. Sure, he had an umbrella, but the slightest gust of wind nearly turned it inside out. He took a lighter from his pocket, old and worn, the design faded revealing the ivory white underneath. What was once a clear image of a beautiful painting was now an incoherent and tattered mess. Along with the lighter, he removed a box of Marlboros from his ripped jeans and lit it, shielding it with his hand, because God forbid it get blown out by the sudden rushing breeze. He hadn't been smoking for long, and he rarely smoked at all. At least, he thinks he does. He has moments where he blacks out and forgets what he's done, and often times, feels as if someone or something else was controlling him. Like separate personalities. Bohemian Rhapsody starts ringing out from an unknown location. He looks around, careful to hold onto his food in case he has to run. But his precautions were rendered unnecessary when he realized it was coming from his pocket. He looked at his ringing phone, panicking at the caller ID. “Mom! You've got to be kidding me!" He might as well answer it. "Circe Angel Lovell! Where are you?” She condemned. Her voice was like a snap back to reality amongst his raging emotions. “Mom, I'm just..." He had to pause to try and smother the urge to cry, when would he learn to be responsible, like a real adult. Here he was, smoking in the pouring rain, walking aimlessly around, like a lost dog, trying to find some semblance of idea how to comprehend how royally screwed he was. “Circe? You know you can talk to me about anything, right?" She soothed. His attempt to hide his cries must have failed, as she audibly exclaimed at the sound of his sniffling. “Yeah.. Yeah, I know." These are the moments where he wished he had a strong will, a hope that he was better than this. If his life was a movie, it'd be a musical with no music, a sitcom with no humor, a horror movie with no killer. Utterly empty, devoid of emotion. He could've been something, yet he whirls through this useless dance to pretend as if he had a plan. Maybe it would be better if he just—oh. Circe is snapped from his train of thought when he reaches his destination. Home. But there was a poster on the door. He reaches for it, studying the typewriter-like font that seemed like a “We're Hiring” ad. “Do you want to help the world? Give back to the world that houses you? Come join B.O.O.O and make a difference!" He raised a confused eyebrow at the wording. Help the world how?

system posting specifically related to pocketcat for a moment, with childhood related writing
splitting pocketcat is an interesting result when you know even a tiny bit of our history, which while we do usually keep to ourself and mask quite often, id like to talk about it- i wanted to write, both as directly related to that and as just an attempt at rather personal writing, as limited as memory is
you take a traumatized small child, and you give it books documenting folklore monsters and various storybooks- sparking that interest, that curiosity, removing the fear of them. thats us
that child will even feel like a monster itself, staying up late at night and never truly getting along with people for long, too excitable, too wild, too unstable, a little monster under the guise of a kid
interest in the eerie will grow and flower, watching horror movies that would seem too much for something so young, but theres never fear! only more curiosity, a sense of belonging
interest will extend to discovering werewolves, beasts that reveal their true nature under the moonlight. the child looks out their window to observe the moon in pure wonder, can that really happen? can the moon truly reveal the beautifully monstrous?
theyll go online soon, discovering more stories and talking to people, eventually creating a character of itself- someone constantly wearing a mask, somewhere unknown between human and beast, hidden away in the woods
there will be people harsh to the childs interests in the horrifying, why would someone like something so ugly? whats wrong with them? this certainly cant be harmless and clearly must be stopped. but it wont be, itll go on
..
after years and extra experiences that cannot be mentioned, youll have a sad queer adult barely really holding on. youll hear what friends you do have talking about a game that looks intriguing, and eventually look into it after one more person mentions it and discover how its just so ripe with beautiful designs and interesting characters, many things your child self wouldve killed for to see. then youll find this cat! hey, you grew up with cats, your best friend is your own cat, and his appearance is intriguing.
a peculiar gentleman, isnt he?
something your abnormal mind can easily latch onto, something outwardly friendly and just barely looking human enough, but sharing many things youve struggled with for so long and buried deep inside, and not to mention the association with the moon, and what the moon means in that world, oh how perfectly it lines up with how you think, how you view people.
so, whether its really wanted or not, the mind latches on and internalizes this character, something that can tap back into that childhood wonder, letting it take its own control.
youve never been happier.

Body Horror Beatdown, Match 8, Round 1

Propaganda under the cut.
The Fly:
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
"Main character turns into a man-fly hybrid slowly over the course of the movie. What happens to him is truly horrific and only adds to my disgust of insects as a whole. Some might even say the ability to make Jeff Goldblum disgusting is a body horror feat in and of itself."
"*potential spoilers?* I LOVE IT WHEN SCIENTISTS FALL BC OF THEIR OWN HUBRIS !!! IT'S SO GOOD also the body horror was rlly well done as far as I remember! It has been a bit since I've watched it tho" "The body horror in this movie was beautifully disgusting, you don't want to get me STARTED on the ending when his jaw is ripped off and everything that was still vaguely human about him ripped away, like his eyes turned to mush and dripped out as his forehead split open and chunks of flesh just fell on the floor, the makeup and special effects were absolutely jawdropping."
The Quatermass Xperiment: X is not an unknown quantity.
(wikipedia) "The film concerns three astronauts who have been launched into space aboard a single-stage-to-orbit rocket designed by Professor Quatermass. It crashlands with only one of its original crew, Victor Carroon (Richard Wordsworth), still aboard. He begins mutating into an alien organism, which, if it spawns, will engulf the Earth and destroy humanity. After Carroon escapes from custody Quatermass and Inspector Lomax (Jack Warner) of Scotland Yard have just hours to track him/it down and prevent a catastrophe."

V&A scene, shot of bronze 'Scandal' relief, by Charles Sargeant Jagger, (and a little clip in the movie)
I love the attention to detail and the production design value in the RWRB movie. It took me a while to place the artwork we see here. In the V&A scene Henry and Alex walk past statues right before they reach the long room where they dance. The camera stays for a couple seconds on this relief named "Scandal", showing us, the audience, that this artwork has some meaning (or it just works as an easteregg). "Scandal depicts a naked couple embracing while an audience of disapproving onlookers in the background peer at them with mouths agape and hands raised in horror. The 1.6 x 1.5 metre relief was boldly displayed in the drawing room of society couple Henry and Gwen Mond where it both scandalised and satirised 1930s polite society with its reference to the couple’s earlier ménage à trois with the writer Gilbert Cannan. Henry and Gwen married in 1920 challenging society’s rules with the unconventional nature of their match; he was heir to a considerable fortune, she was from an unknown South African family." That is the description the V&A lists. More here
So the director of photography (and Mattew ML) is using the art here as a parallel and a kind of foreshadowing: a couple of different backgrounds is exposed to the public and creating a scandal in the society they lived in, foreshadowing what will happen to Alex and Henry. Of course it is a detail, and it is not an obvious link and artistic parallel. It is not essential to understand the movie, it works just fine being an artwork and/or decoration on a wall in a museum. But I love that the RWRB team took the time to insert such depth and layers here to emphasize the "history in history" part. In a way, they recreating the letters of historical figures that Alex and Henry were citing for a visual medium.

Hello! I am OK1610 from ao3. I loved Riddle V.I.Z.ion so much! Such an amazing story with great characters! I loved the aliens especially! Your story inspired me to weave my own tale for these characters as well as a design element for Diz (the support beams) for my refs of the aliens (credited in the post)! I cannot wait to read more about them and their pasts!
Any chance we can get a little sneak peak of what is to come?
('Riddle Classified' sounds like a great name btw!)
Hello!! Lovely to see you again!
Literally had to spin in circles at work when you said my story inspired you, was not prepared; I’m honoured <3 and I hope you have fun creating! You art is so perfect!!! I love how the style is still reminiscent of the game art but far more detailed and much more fun to look at—it’s so vibrant! They’re all super adorable (rotating Quiz in my mind rn) and it looks like such a sweet AU—I’m an absolute sucker for stories where things end well (which I don’t think anyone would guess from my own works XD.) Would be super intrigued to know more when you’re ready to share!
(Definite spoilers for my future Riddle School fic below the cut!)
Dutifully adding a tally to Riddle Classified’s column! I swear the title is going to be the bit I decide last with this thing, it’s certainly giving me the most trouble XD
As for sneak peaks, hmmm; it’s a little early in the process for me to feel like I’ve got much that’s actually interesting to share, but I could tell you about the first chapter? It’s post defection, a few years into the V.I.Z.ion Project, and involves Quiz being kidnapped by bounty hunters/pirates. He has to stall for time, turning them against each other as a distraction, while Viz and Diz sneak around and kill off the people stationed at other outposts before picking him up.
It’s told from the perspective of the pirates, who really have no idea who or what Quiz is, and is set in a snowstorm to really play up a theme of isolation/being trapped. Horror movie vibes. They know something is going on outside, and they know their contacts are going cold one by one, but they can’t figure out why—maybe it’s just the storm like their leader says, maybe it’s something else. They’re stuck with this unknown alien who’s sounding way too plausible when he says the roof might cave in, or there’s something outside, who talks them into telling him the scary stories they’ve heard about rogue soldiers in the area. If they go outside and try to run, they’ll definitely die of exposure, but if they stay? Unclear. And surely nothing out there could be alive. The noises are the wind, just the wind, they’re not in danger, nothing’s getting closer, everything’s fine.
It’s a good opportunity to play with Quiz’s unique skill set of appearing very harmless to manipulate people, gives me the chance to do some exposition on the alien’s species lore, and—most vitally—sets a pretty sinister tone for the V.I.Z.ion crew actually in action! A good jumping off point for what’s to come!
Another chapter I’ve got planned as a definite inclusion (though I don’t know where it’ll go yet; probably late in the collection) is them kidnapping Phil. It’s from Phil’s perspective, and I’ve honestly just been galaxy braining over it for a few nights now; he just barely escapes them when they see him first (runs through populated places they can’t follow, gets on a bus, his dog attacks Quiz when he gets home) and then spends the next few days as Dib from Invader Zim trying to convince his family that Aliens Are Definitely Real And Also After Him. They don’t believe him. One night he wakes up to find that everyone else is knocked out, and the aliens are in the house searching for him. He doesn’t get away this time. Very stressful times for Phil—I don’t think I’ve ever written a non-stressful time for Phil. I don’t think I’ve written a non-stressful time for any of these characters.
With this chapter, I’m hoping to do something with the perspective shift, which is another reason I think it should come late in the formatting. While the aliens are very much villain protagonists in this, having everything be through their eyes will eventually make them familiar—maybe not exactly relatable, but certainly comfortable. The jarring dissonance of exchanging that highly militarised, desensitised perspective to an actually human one—the P.O.V of someone we, the audience, know—when he’s terrified and being hunted by them appeals to me. Particularly as, at that point, I will have written scenes of the V.I.Z.ion aliens interacting with humans from their own perspective, and the difference between what they think and what people think can be thrown into even sharper relief.
I realise I’ve told you about the only two chapters that aren’t from the alien’s direct perspectives, so sorry about that! But I hope they made for a satisfying sneak peak <3 maybe this isn’t what you meant at all… I’ve never actually done a sneak peak before!

So we went to see the new Aliens movie Alien: Romulus. I can honestly can say I'm not a huge fan of the Alien(s) franchise I like them and I have seen them all and have some of them on disk and in the digital collection. I say I'm not a huge fan I just like Predator more. I think Predator is more interesting design/style wise and story wise nothing against H.R. Giger of course its just a preference as a fan thats all but yeah we went to see this new terrifying chapter. Also yes there was collectable goodies which you can see here.
Anyway about the movie I thought it was great I really liked it. I felt it was very reminiscent of the original 4 movies like they took aspects of them and put them into this even some stuff from the two prequel movies Prometheus and Covenant.
but I would have to say this movie drew more on the first 2 movies Alien and Aliens then any of the other ones. Also this is like a direct sequel to the original Alien being it takes place like 20 years after the events of that movie being they talk about in this.
the basic story for this a group of people are wanting to escape their lives working in the mines on a mining colony planet and discover what seems like an abandoned ship and they are going to use cryo pods to escape to another planet. So they go up to the ship and find out that it is a derelict space station which unknown to them had found the remains of the Alien Xenomorph from the first movie and were doing experiments on it. So while these people are looking for the cryo pods they inadvertently unleashed the aliens and now have to survive in order to get off the station.
I knew this was going to be good being it was directed and co written by blank who did both Don't Breath and the recent Evil Dead which were both amazing movies so I knew that this was going to be very good and being he is a horror director this movie played up the horror alot which i think this franchise should be. It did have some actiony bits to it but was as actiony as say Aliens which was good. like I said it should be a horror franchise.
The the visuals were of course impressive the production and set design were all really good and felt like the same time period as the first movie. also the creature effects were excellent. There was an amazing amount of of Facehugger action which was cool I think maybe this is the most you seen them scurrying around on screen? I'm not sure but you actually got to see them almost stalking the human characters. Also the character called the "Offspring" was crazy weird and creepy and its kind of hard to believe that the character is not CGI but an actual person in a suit with like prosthetics?!? That alone is a bit terrifying in itself I was shocked to find out that was a real person in a costume.
In the end the movie was great I enjoyed it alot and I think any fan of the Alien series would enjoy it being it brings the movies back to their horror roots.

Diving Into The Depths With The Creature From The Black Lagoon
Just revisited the 1954 classic, Creature From The Black Lagoon. This film is a gem of the golden age of Universal monster movies, directed by Jack Arnold and starring Richard Carlson, Julie Adams, and Richard Denning.
The plot revolves around a group of scientists who embark on an expedition in the Amazon after discovering a strange hand-like fossil. Their journey takes a terrifying turn when they encounter a prehistoric, piscine amphibious humanoid, known as the Gill-man.
The Gill-man, played by Ben Chapman on land and Ricou Browning underwater, is a marvel of creature design. Its unique and eerie appearance continues to inspire monster designs in modern cinema.
The film masterfully blends horror and adventure, taking us from the depths of the Amazonian jungle to the dark waters of the Black Lagoon. The suspense builds as the creature begins to attack the crew, leading to a fight for survival.
What makes this film stand out is its underlying commentary on the clash between science and nature, civilization and the wild, the known and the unknown. It's a thrilling ride that leaves you pondering long after the credits roll.
If you're a fan of Classic Monster Movies or 1950s Cinema, Creature From The Black Lagoon is a must-watch. It's a testament to the enduring power of well-crafted storytelling and atmospheric filmmaking.
