I created a little Hunt:Showdown(other games too but mainly hunt) Discord Server a while back to find folks to play with because I am terrified of going solo cause i"m poopy at the game lol so I'm just updating things since I've been asked a few times and people reblog occasionally.
The server is still active and we'll always be accepting new people cause more friends in the bayou the better! (no minors tho cause we're all in our 20's)
So if you don't want to do solo hunt anymore hit me up. Always looking for people to play with and have fun! We are strictly PC and play both on the US servers and the European server.
I just want people who are chill and respectful and are not going to rage at fellow teammates. We're here to have fun and play hunt, extracting is optional lol.
(It's okay to get a little frustrated cause it happens but do not take it out on others)
Shoot me a DM if you want to join.
We also on occasion play Phasmophobia, GTFO, Vermintide 2 and Dead by Daylight
hunt showdown really is one of the most exciting -- and unexpected -- games when it comes to showcasing queer rep. I don't think anyone looking at this gritty, hardcore extraction shooter would expect it to include such a diversity of LGBTQ identities, and expressions of those identities.
I gush about this all the time, but I really do think Hunt is out there showcasing some of the best writing and inclusion of queer characters in the industry. Lulu and Sofia's romance is fantastic, but they're not these delicate waifs. They're out there straight up serial killing, but the violence is often mixed with this undercut of longing (lulu monologuing abt how she can't hear the crunch of a man's face as she beats him to death over the beating of her heart as she looks at Sofia)
That's not even touching on the mountain man, the viper, or any of the other queer inclusions in hunt. It's done so naturally and so beautifully, it's never patronizing and feels so real. I also love the autism rep with the viper but that's a post for another day (luv my agender, autistic assassin blorbo)
WiP Wednesday - Hunt Showdown AU because no one stopped me :)
Shadow Weaver was there, knelt in the turned soil. Various blooms surrounded her and a small sack of seeds lay by her side. Of course it was a bit hard to concentrate on that considering the man who was wrapped in barbed wire and half buried looked up at her and began to scream through his gag. Weaver cuffed his ear the way she’d hit Catra a thousand times as she stood and wiped her hands off on her dress.
“You hush while the living are speaking. Your chance was had.”
“Torturing for fun or profit these days?” Catra asked, mildly curious as she stepped over the man to follow her master into the shade of a large willow.
Shadow Weaver sighed heavily, shooting her a side eye as she pulled a canteen off a low branch and handed it to her. The water was blessedly cool as she spoke, “You always think the worst of me. That one there died and rose, not a grunt but not quite human either. Strange tides these days, not that you’d know having been lazing about.”
Catra snorted at that.
“Oh yeah, nothing to do in hell all damned eternity but kick my feet up.” She screwed the cap back on and gave the canteen back. “Fine, what’s with all this nonsense then? Your hold?”
Weaver glared at her, eyes like ice. “No. But I know the mark, they call themselves infernals. I believe you had some dealings with them before you got sloppy. The Prodigal Daughter no doubt.”
Catra bit her tongue hard enough to taste blood.
She had not been sloppy the day she died, she had been betrayed.
Shout Out to Steam user "Viscte" who was playing solo in the same Hunt Showdown match as my trio team. Viscte had a very powerful load-out of a Lebel Sniper rifle with Spitzer rounds plus some other stuff that I don't remember. I watched them for nearly 30 minutes as they camped the extraction point, repositioned, and then very carefully approached the bounties, only to discover that everyone was dead. To re-iterate, I, my team mates, and all other players except for Viscte, were dead. Viscte could have sprinted up to the bounties, looted all the corpses and left, all within 10 minutes. While their caution was impressive, viscte's lack of deductive reasoning was absolutely hilarious. Word of advice for Hunters from an experienced scavenger: if the bounty hasn't moved and it's all gone silent for 20 or more minutes, you can safely walk around in the open while looting the dead.
