Okay, now here’s a crazy qsmp theory:

The qsmp duck? That’s Quackity.

For one thing: duck. Self-explanatory.

But there’s one problem, and it’s that q!Quackity is a seemingly-unknowing participant in the explicitly canon human experiment going on on the qsmp. And the Duck? It’s a mascot, but it’s also the ‘host’ of the island. It’s a stand-in for the experimenters, think Usami/Monomi from Danganronpa 2. How could that be Quackity if Quackity is participating in the experiment itself?

This is where it gets crazy.

So far, we have confirmation that this is an experiment. Watch the video announcing the egg event and come back. This is an experiment, and the eggs have been consistent across this and the previous experiment. That comes from the lore teasers from before the smp’s announcement. There were eight eggs/eight players (it’s unclear) before, and now there are 16. The experiment’s scope as increased. What’s important, though, are the eggs.

Q!Quackity’s character arc properly began only after the death of his son Tilín. Everyone else doing major plot had their arcs start prior- take q!Roier and q!Luzu as examples here. He’s been consumed by his grief to the point of desperation.

And his kindergarten’s homework assignments are on the official egg tasks list.

And he’s been saying not to trust Cucurucho/the Census Bureau Creature since day one.

And he explicitly dislikes Arin/AI Luzu.

And Arin is where this theory starts becoming super weird, because he can see the server’s “code”. Combine that with the literal code monsters flying around hunting him down and trying to kill the eggs, and the message during the funeral that said to break out and remember, it’s pretty clear that the qsmp is an electronic simulation with its members as unknowing and possibly unwilling members of a human experiment. Every member added got the digital ticket to the island through minecraft and in a digital version of their streaming setups, except for Quackity, who was only properly announced the day of the server’s start, and for Rubius, whose announcement poster was a glitched mess.

Q!Rubius is the devil/angel with creative and spectator mode, and with connections to God/Satan. While he and Cucurucho don’t seem to get along, they are on the same side, more or less. When Juanaflippa was essentially promised a life from Rubius, she was declared dead at the funeral, much to q!Slime’s anger. And when q!Maximus asked at said funeral what was going on, Trump responded with “I don’t know, but they’re strong…” These guys? Sus.

But back to Quackity.

This last bit is very Anime, but also he did say that he was inspired by Attack on Titan, and so I feel like I’m a little bit justified when claiming that the q!Quackity we see now is the same person as a hypothetical Experimenter Quackity. It’s a bit like Kamukura from Danganronpa 2 if you think about it, or a bit like Eren from Attack on Titan. Spoilers for the end of AoT, but it’s made canon in the end that, the whole time, Eren has been looking back from the future and has manipulated the series in that way. There are an infinite number of timelines because of this. And then with Kamukura, he’s literally the experimenter plugged in with amnesia into the virtual experiment. It writes itself.

Just why Quackity is doing this is unclear, though maybe it has something to do with the multilingual nature of the server (vape wizard, anyone?) or the eggs (again, his character arc only kicked off after the death of Tilín, which could mean that he’s going through these experiments to try and make a world where Tilín lives.)

But, hey, that’s just a theory- a game theory.

Hey! I just finished To Cut Away the Mountains I've made and Fill the Dale Below on ao3 and found your Tumblr! Thank you for writing it was for much fun to read. Your descriptions are very comforting and the entire fic felt very warm.

Are there any world facts that you had in your head but never got to share?

When I tell you that this ask had me freaking out, I mean I was screeching. It means so much to me that you went to the effort of finding my Tumblr and sending me an ask! I'm so glad you liked the story!

As for facts, boi do I have a few. I filled that story up with so much lore just for the fun of it.

Obviously, it was very different from the actual Dream SMP. In this world, the goddess of Death gave Wilbur to Philza as more of a gift than a shared child, I guess you could say. When Wilbur got old enough, he took off to explore the world. That devastated Philza a little, which I think was very clear in the fic, but he let Wilbur have his freedom.

Philza did end up finding a new friend in Techno. Techno was a powerful warlord for a while, angry because his sounder was destroyed. When Philza got him out of that nether fortress where he had been trapped as a gladiator, Techno felt like he owed the Angel a life debt and then that eventually turned into just genuine friendship. Techno is very protective of the old man.

Wilbur ended up becoming the ruler of a country, and everything was fine for a while. Since he was a gift from Death, he didn't really get old and he didn't really die.

But we can't have anything nice. Dream came into the picture as a talented sorcerer who craved power. He inserted himself as a second in command to Wilbur, twisting Wilbur's mind and his rule. Dream was a sadistic dude and Wilbur started to fall to Dream's whims.

As a side note, Dream made the disks of power. Everyone that looked upon them wanted them. Dream thought it was funny watching people destroy each other over some scratched up disks. The power of the disks faded over years, which is why Quackity could keep them safely.

Philza heard about a terrible ruler who was planning on sacrificing thousands of his own people to a power hungry sorcerer and went to go deal with it. Techno entered a duel with Dream while Philza went to find this ruler. Imagine his surprise when he find's Wilbur with his finger on the 'button' that would set off the terrible ritual. There was no reasoning with him, and in this timeline, Philza didn't wait until Wilbur pressed the button. He killed his son because there was no other option.

They didn't capture Dream. They sent hunters to capture him. One of the hunters, George, ended up bonding with Dream and helped him escape over and over again. Dream was sweet with George. He presented himself as a silly little vagabond. Just a little guy. A robin hood type.

George eventually saw the real Dream, though. Dream slipped up and George had to come to terms that he had been tricked and lied to. George helped get Dream captured, where he was put in jail under Quackity and Sam. George felt horrible about this, and he ended up having to live with Philza for a few years while he grieved a friendship that was never real and dealt with the lingering betrayal he had dealt to Dream.

Dream died. He died a sad and broken man, having been tortured every day for 50 years until he finally decided that permanent death would be better than waiting for the chance to escape. He is gone for good. Death made sure of it.

Speaking of Sam, he was so afraid of death that he started searching for ways to escape it, going to various demons and gods to get blessings by going through trials. He was thrice cursed because, after some time, the different blessing and rituals and whatnot reacted badly with each other, like water causing metal to rust.

Quackity twisted the secrets of necromancy from out of Dream, and consequences don't matter to him anymore. As time goes by, he will become more and more unstable. But that's a story for another time.

Wilbur, when he died, became a wraith. Death tried to find him, but because he came from her, he knew how to hide. He drifted the world with the lamb Death had sent to be with him, because while he shunned her, she knew Philza wouldn't want him to be alone. Dream revived Wilbur as a last desperate try for freedom, hoping the man would come rescue him near the end of his life, but Wilbur did not. He just kept running.

Wilbur has white in his hair and feathers from his time being dead.

Wilbur eventually settled down and started working on projects to feel like he's actually doing something with his life. He built his manor and estates, he broke up crime rings, and eventually he took in three children, one of whom reminded him so much of his father that he couldn't leave the child to go into the system. At that point, he started missing Philza for the first time since he left the nest.

That's pretty much it, I suppose. This story was so fun and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I remember I wrote it so fast my finger joints hurt for days.

My memory of the lore is shet, and my writing is bad, so bear with me.

I've been thinking about like, c!quackity is thinking about wilbur again. Be it his disappearance, the way Tommy was icolating himself again, old memories or whatever. But thinking about him and wondering where he was. Logically, he'd ask the one person who would know, Tommy. He goes and visits Tommy, who had (I'm sure it was after wilburs leaving) grew an addiction to invisibility potions (a minecraft version of alcoholism kinda) and he knew something was wrong and in a way pressured Tommy to tell him what was up. So soon enough Tommy did, he told him everything, everything that happened that day at that stupid beach. He knew what Wilbur was planning on doing for a while, and even after wilbur tried to tell him it wasn't what he feared, he knew it was a lie. He knew he wasn't going to "utah." And then is when quackity finds out, wilbur never left the sever. He had killed himself, trying to pass it off as a trip to go back home after a long years Stay in that God forsaken smp. Quackity is taken by surprise, and he doesn't want to believe it. He didn't see the signs. He didn't think wilbur would do such a thing yet, he did. He did it before, so why wouldn't he do it again. He hadn't changed as a person, so why should he had expected anything different. Maybe the change of situation or how he never showed any signs of wanting it all to end so soon instead looking like he could go on tormenting quackity for the rest of time. But no, he was gone. Possibly, by drowning, be it he went out at sea to do it. Quackity looks back on every moment they had together, the way he got slightly attached and expected him to show up every once in a while to fuck around with his day. He'd be caught dead before admitting to anyone he'd missed the damn zombie. But he did, and he didn't understand why it left such a heavy feeling in his chest that for a while made it hard to get up from his chair he spent most of his days in doing presidental work. But now, knowing what had Truely happened, it felt like a straight shot through his heart. He told himself he didn't have any attachments to anyone, especially the unpredictable asshole who spent almost every day trying to get into his country, but he did, he'd spent years with that man, even when he was gone his ghost was still there making it so he never was truly gone. But now he was. Days went by, ghostbur never showed up, the vines in the once great lmanburg grew and grew, his burger van was left there to rot. It felt weird, unnatural, and wrong. Quackity wished e every day that that man would disappear off the face of the earth, but now that he did, it was empty, like a missing peice in a puzzle. A puzzle that was already losing pieces left and right.

Idk I've just been looking at tntduo fanart and thinking about how, for most of them, that aren't AUs or different timelines. What happened in those pictures was just before wilbur's suicide. His final one, where he wasn't ever going to come back. No ghost, no essence besides the forgotten remains of his greatest achievement that started everything, no more wilbur soot on the dream smp. A hell on earth...

in a server where everything from homes to entire nations regularly ends up being blown up with tnt, something about quackity destroying el rapids, a mostly forgotten faction that quackity used to lead with his closest friends, block by block by hand is so symbolic

i think a george rp w quackity is something that has been (not outright) set up to happen since swag 2020. there has been ample and rich development of how they (the charas) fit together that sliding in real george rp w quackity and his gambling arc would come from a more natural place as theres many things that have happened with them that he can draw from. there is a history there that would make a focus on them satisfying. whether or not they work together.

a george rp w karl would be as forced, heavy handed, and untethered to anything actually happening as tftsmp. there isnt as much history to dig into and id argue that in a blind reaction to georges rp being w karl where i have made no prev opinion about it, id still say "really? okay i guess" whereas w quackity id be more like "this makes sense". karl's character couldnt decide what side to be on and would flip w no notice if the other option presented is more lucrative/gives him more power. THIS makes for an interesting character! this is a very human character. one who is contradictory and is clearly only in it for power or respect

id go as far as to say that c!karl being made into a timetraveller ostracized him more from the main story than his opportunistic morals. karl (the cc) is very much a mr beast guy and i mean that in a derogatory way. this is the guy who hypes up every stream like its the next big thing only to deliver the exact same structure. he markets himself and clearly likes to hold the reigns/be in charge. tftsmp lets him do that but without coming across as pushy like he did when he first joined and tried to do the same things in the main story (all those times hed insert himself into a major narrative so he could "be in an animation" stallinh or derailing an already devloped story) but c!karl is a handfed brick to the face

it's a boring story w character tropes that are already being used by other characters in a far more nuanced and developed way (keeping a journal, bad memory, ruling a country, something evil w a smiley face is behind things, etc) karl is doing nothing new and infact hes doing it worse

tftsmp is cool! a look into different times on the smp and how it could have impacted/been impacted by the main story. plus the new characters bring different dynamics to the table. its a great place for exposure nd a fun medium by which to encourage interaction between ppl who may not have interacted much. or it could've been :] if he didnt usually gravitate to the same 5 or so people lol

for the most part i dont like the way he handles his own story. i dont like that it's all typed out on stream it feels near offensive to be handfed a story thats already so simple. karl tells his stories and other people show them. there is nothing all that impactful about words written in a journal. he could fix this by letting his character exist in their space; what i mean by this is c!karl is often more the person behind the scenes than a part of them. the main story doesnt reach him, theres an omniscience or more like a separation to how he interacts w his environment/other characters. i think w a timetraveller story trying to be portrayed in minecraft rp, it's hard to develop from the timetravellers perspective without making the timetraveller be the avatar through which the story is told rather than carried (plus other charas are allowed less freedom). i think karl's whole timetraveller thing coulda been better showcased if the other characters held the reigns and allowed c!karl the freedom to express more real emotion rather than be a detached director

that being said, i dont want it. of all the things going on on the smp, i feep like karl's timetraveller thing is the most unnatural development. it doesnt fit without making him some center of attention which doesnt work cus he isnt involved with the main cast of the story and involving him wouldnt make sense cus his character has had no ties to them.

tl;dr: tftsmp is cool and should've stayed its own completely separate thing w the initial plan behind it as individual streams where if you miss one its no big deal cus the story lives and dies in one stream. timetraveller c!karl is stupid as fuck. og c!karl w the loose morals and ambitions of power/higher social standing is far more interesting and fitting than whatever is going on w c!karl now. c!george rping w quackity is the best possible outcome

You snapped your head towards the sound, letting go of Quackity’s hand, “What was that?” You thought that one of the machines in the casino had a malfunction, they were always kind of faulty and they have been going into overdrive with the amount of people gambling on them.

It was not a machine, no, far from it. When you turned, you were shocked by the sight of sand in the far back corner near the Eiffel Tower being blown into the air and scattered across the land in piles.

“You need to run,” You turned back to Quackity. He was shaking in his place, looking down at the ground. You saw a single tear fall from the side of his cheek and hit the ground.

“Run?” You repeated. 

He slowly nodded, “You need to run.”

The explosions came to a halt, leaving you in silence with your boyfriend. He was still shaking in his place, more tears filled his eyes. You could tell by the way he smiled that he was trying to put up a strong front for you, but you were unsure why.

“We had a good run y/n,” He mumbled out. “A great run actually.”

You laughed it off, he always pulled stupid pranks like this. You reached for his hand, “Come on baby, le-”

“You need to fucking run!” Quackity snapped at you, not moving from his stance. “This place is gonna blow up and kill every single person in it. But if you run all the way to a place that no one has claimed and is far from here, you will be safe.”

“What are you on about?” You questioned him. Before he could answer, you looked down and saw what he saw. A tripwire, being squished underneath his weight.

“You need to fucking run. The second I take my foot off this wire, this whole place will be in pieces. Including me.”

You shook your head, “No, no, no! Don’t be so silly! We would’ve already been dead! It was some faulty redstone, you already set some TNT off.”

“There’s repeaters. This was planned. You're right, y/n, we should’ve been blown up already. But this is a redstone repeater trap. This is orchestrated. Someone didn't want TNT flying everywhere so they made repeaters so that only certain areas will blow up in the way that they wanted it to be. Organized, slow, painful...” He calmly explained. “You need to run before something else triggers this wire.”

“This doesn't make any sense!” You yelled. “Who would care so much that they only want certain parts of Las Nevadas gone?”

“I haven’t told you everything,” He quickly admitted. “And I wish I had the time, but unfortunately I don’t. Please, I’ve already watched Charlie die in front of me and I couldn’t do anything about it. This time, I have control. This foot holds power over life and death and I cannot see another person I love die in front of me. Please, for my own sake, run.”

You stared back at him in silence, there had to be another way. You were not about to let him die in front of you. You pulled out your backpack and grabbed some wood, “We can just put this on the wire! It will hold it down and you can run with me!”

“That won’t work y/n! It’s too heavy, it will snap the wire!” Quackity yelled. “You need to run!”

“I’m running away from you!” You yelled back. “I’m not running away just for you to die out here! You don’t even know what’s going on!”

“I pissed off some people y/n. I got some people killed, you know that. I think that this is their way of telling me that I need to pay for what I’ve done. A life for a life.”

You wiped the tears from your eyes, “Just take a step back. Let this whole place blow up with us in it.”

“Me!” He snapped. “I am going to be the only one dying today. God damn it y/n why won’t you run?!”

“Because I love you!” You confessed to him. “I love you. And I love this place that you built! This is my only purpose in life! Without it, I’m nothing. If it’s gonna die, I’m dying with it.”

Quackity reached behind him and pulled his crossbow out, drawing it back and aiming at you, “I love you so much y/n, and you are not dying today. You are going to run away or I am going to make you run away.”

“Then make me!” You screamed. “We’ve accomplished everything we ever wanted, Quackity! We wanted to build this place and we did. We wanted it to be successful and it is. The only thing I have left to do in life is live it out with you and if you’re saying you’re dying tonight, then I’m dying too!”

“No you’re not y/n!” He urged. “Just run the fuck aw-”

You lunged forward with precision, making sure your toe covered the wire and pushed Quackity with all the strength that you had in you. He fell to the ground and covered his ears, waiting for an explosion, but there was none.

He slowly looked up and was terrified at the sight. Right in front of him was the love of his life, his only purpose to be alive, holding down a single wire that was their demise. 

“No!” He yelled. “Why would you do that!”

“Because I am nothing!” You told him. “All that people know about me is that I live here with you! Do you know why that might be? Because that’s all I’ve done in life! Don’t you understand? I make no difference in anyone’s life. But you do. What about Sapnap? What about Sam? And you have unfinished business with Wilbur and Dream and Tommy and all these people!” You looked around at the country surrounding you, “All my life, I’ve only ever known this place. I don’t have any friends except for you, Foolish, and Fundy. When this place is gone, I will suffer. Are you willing to die knowing that you would leave me to suffer?”

He got back on his feet and stood in front of you. He looked into your eyes, seeing his own reflection back at him. He knew in that moment, that he had lost you. There was going to be no more arguing about getting you to leave. You were staying on that wire and there was nothing he could do.

“You can build this place back, Quackity. I can’t,” You explained. “You are so much more wiser and so much better socialized than me. You need to live for that my legacy can live on.”

He turned away from you, his hands behind his back, “It wasn’t worth it.”

“What?” You asked. “Are you saying I wasn’t worth it?”

He turned back to you and carefully took your hands in his, “No, that’s not what I’m saying. You were worth it. Everything about you, everything I did with you, every memory we made, was worth it. But Las Nevadas, all this built up rage, all the enemies I made, it wasn’t worth it. None of this was worth it coming to this moment. You’re gonna die y/n.” He choked out the last part, a sob overcoming him, “I can’t keep up this persona anymore. I’ve lost everything. I lost my best friend, I lost my fiancé's, and now I’m losing you?”

You squeezed his hand, “You are my legacy, Quackity. Keep me alive when I’m gone will you?”

He placed a gentle kiss to your hand, “I will, I promise I will. I’ll build this place back, just like you want. And I’ll make it even better. No more manipulation, no more power...this place will be built back so that I can love you every day that I live.”

“You need to run,” A final tear streamed down your face. He gently wiped it away and held his hand to your cheek one final time. He squinted his eyes shut, holding back his tears.

“I-I love you y/n.”

He slowly backed away, keeping his hand on your cheek as long as he could. Once he had to let go, he turned and let out a sob before turning back. He was telling you something more, but he kept walking away and you couldn’t hear him. He tried to yell so that you could hear him, but he was too far away. He walked over the hill and out of your sight. After a couple minutes...boom.

Quackity stared at the land before him. Which was once all a mess with craters and sand piles, was now flattened and filled to make small highs and lows. Nothing remained. Not a single block, just the land that once held more than a casino.

The land held love, trust, bond... and Quackity promised to keep it that way. Everyday he returned to the now ruined Las Nevadas with a small pot containing your favorite flower and placed it near your grave. Everyday the sand slowly fused with the pot, covering it and making the land look like a natural flower field 

Quackity still has not said a word to anyone. At this point, he isn't sure who placed the wire, but whoever did was filled with rage and anger. He knew now, from yours and Charlie’s death, that it was not worth going to every corner of the map and searching for whoever did this and killing them.

It isn’t worth it.

gnf cooking stream highlights

saw some people say they wouldn’t be able to watch george’s cooking stream because of school/work so i took note of some things that happened (with very rough timestamps. like really rough and it happened ~around~ that time) so they could relate to jokes/etc being made on the dashboard/timeline without having to watch the entire 4 hours of the stream immediately :) hope this is helpful in any way ? lol

i decided it would be fun to doodle my whole getting into dsmp timeline and keep a record of it for myself! notes for myself under the cut :)

Sometime late in the November of November 16th fame, I started getting back into minecraft YouTube again and I could not tell you for the life of me exactly what I was watching that lead to it but I became a big fan of Ghostbur and watched lots of clips compilations of him and by extension tommy. I didn’t watch any of Nov 16 or anything but I was a hardcore Ghostbur fan and his goofy but often sad antics in New Lmanburg, the family drama with Phil and Fundy, were really what captivated me about dsmp lore this lead to me checking out dsmp people on twitch, so I followed a raid onto ranboo on the day he joined and from then on I was a ranboo main! I watched him like everyday, I got super invested in his lore as it began, and I remember desperately hoping he’d hang out with phil because I thought he was cool and I think I remember ranboo looking up to him too (so you can imagine my excitement when soon into new lmanburg they started to actually hang out!)

this continued through doomsday into january when foolish joined, who I initially did not actually like- I just didn’t vibe with his day one stream when I watched a bit. But then I saw someone who screenshotted part of his summer home (the first big arch he did after the snake statue) and I was flabbergasted, so I tuned into a building stream. And I found foolish was… extremely funny! He’s really silly so his humor is never about putting anyone down for any reason, he had a great rapport with chat that has never changed, and he is an amazing builder. those streams were enthralling, because even doing something as tedious as building can be he always keeps me completely entertained

so slowly, as we moved from February to March, I stopped watching ranboo a lot (especially because I found his nighttime beeduo streams boring at best, so less and less of his content appealed), and started to become a true foolish main! I got really into the egg plot, I started to wane a lot in my liking of c!ranboo, and by the time ranboo moved to the uk I had stopped watching him entirely. of course, this is during prison arc, which is when my passing love of cc!dreams acting like in the exile negotiations and doomsday started to become a lot more serious investment in c!dream

now, back in that first fall, I had also been recommended via YouTube (no surprise) minecraft manhunt, which I devoured as soon as possible, so I liked Dream but it’s not even as if he streamed or made content much (and I was admittedly afraid of how fervently people disliked him and would attack fans of him), but as I moved to foolish, and had been entrenched in these ccs for long enough, I started to like allow myself to really enjoy him and he and foolish balanced out perfectly bc foolish did almost daily content and dream did rare bursts!

of course, roughly last fall karl hit it off with foolish and started consistently joining his streams, and from there I really fell deep into this friend group of ccs, dtqk+, and became a big watcher of Karl alt streams and, eventually, Tina!! Foolish integrating into that group with Karl, Quackity, and eventually Dream really brought me a lot of joy :) their content and humor really clicks with me

I’m currently very happy with where I’m at: finally have somewhere I can comfortably just ramble about these people I enjoy instead of getting by on lurking, and dump art I make instead of having it rot on my phone!

This is the timeline we live in. The same dude who made music for many movies, mc dungeons, a hat in time, banjo kazooie, viva pinata, and so much other stuff, ALSO made two songs for Quackity's lore stream! He made music for a mc roleplay! I cannot get over this!

I’m seeing a whole lot of bad takes and ignorance of past/present content and lack of critical thinking or ability to understand character motives regarding this most recent Dream SMP lore. So please, allow me to lay down some facts, some sense, and also some speculation of my own. This’ll be really rambly, because I’m tired, and I want to say a lot. Rewatching ALL the streaming perspectives now, my thoughts start here:

Considering Sam doesn’t want to enter the cell to dirty his hands himself, he clearly has some aversion or moral qualms about torturing prisoners, but Quackity has convinced him to go along with it. Quackity spends a lot of time before he goes into the cell repeatedly making sure Sam won’t have a change of heart and intervene, which indicates Sam probably has some misgivings. Quackity feels he has to remind Sam that this is for the greater good and to stand back and let him do his thing and that this will probably be the last time. These are all reassurances and instructions that would not be necessary if Sam were known to be totally cool with it all already.

Sam believes the stringent measures Dream put in place for the prison are just desserts for him to suffer, but Techno doesn’t deserve the same cruelty, because Techno didn’t enact those rules. And that’s why Techno gets baked potatoes from Sam, and Dream doesn’t. Sam clearly believes this harsh treatment is justified, because Dream was going to do it to someone else. He thinks he’s being just. Of course, allowing the torture, though not his idea and not really comfortable to him, was still crossing a line, considering physical torture was not something Dream did to his victims (and besides, there’s the argument that not everything a criminal has done is morally correct to be done to the prisoner regardless). That, he was convinced, was for the greater good, to get the revive book. Quackity manipulated him; he thinks he’s doing what’s best, but no, of course that doesn’t make him right or his hands clean.

Sam wanted the dog dead because it’s a security risk, especially with Quackity entering the cell with two other people. He killed it later for the exact same reason. Y’all act like nobody else has ever killed an animal in Minecraft RP; get it together. Is Sapnap also evil? Tommy? He killed his own cat. Random animals are not treated with the gravity you guys are giving them; it makes no sense to call out this one time.

When Techno raised the point that he would be fine if Quackity killed him, because Dream could just bring him back, Dream countered with his warning that Techno doesn’t want to experience death, judging by how messed up it made Tommy. What motive would he have to argue that, aside from actually caring about Techno’s well-being? If Dream was only thinking of himself, he would benefit from Techno being willing to die and be brought back to life by him, giving him an easy reason not to give the resurrection knowledge to Quackity. I honestly can’t think of a reason he would argue other than the fact that he doesn’t want Techno to die even temporarily or experience death--that he cares. Interesting...

Dream hiding in the escape tunnel to make it look like he disappeared too was 5,000 IQ, but he didn’t do it just to be silly or smart. Quackity literally threatened to kill Dream when he came back. Dream HAD to pretend to disappear, because he was legitimately in fear for his life. You saw how terrified he was when Sam found him, how he just immediately begged him not to tell Quackity. He was afraid Quackity would come back and kill him before Techno managed to come back and break him out. He believed that would be his fate and had to make a last ditch attempt to avoid that outcome.

Phil confirmed on stream that the blueprints Techno was led to via coordinates are for the prison. Not Tubbo’s missing nuke, like I’ve seen speculated.

“Steve is your polar bear” was written on stream during the “Prison Podcast” Technoblade lore. This is not a mystery. Dream said he wrote it down when Techno started talking about Steve rescuing them.

If Sam doesn’t approve of Quackity killing Dream, why doesn’t he just tell Quackity Dream is still in the prison but not allow Quackity in anymore? Quackity needs Sam to lead him inside, to let him in. Since when did he have any power against Sam to force him to let him in? I don’t understand why Sam has to keep it a secret just to keep Dream alive. Just don’t let Quackity into the prison anymore. Clearly it was a bad idea, since all these security risks happened while Quackity was getting a free pass to not follow the rules of the prison.

Dream casually walking in the way of Sam’s pickaxe to disrupt his swing once Sam almost had the bell broken gets me every time.

The rapport between c!Dream and c!Sam in prison fascinates me. Clearly Dream is much bolder with Sam than Quackity and still seems to trust his sense of duty to a degree. Sam is also more malleable, convinceable, his fatal flaw being actually listening and talking to Dream, even after it clearly messes with him psychologically. He let Quackity manipulate him, too, and he compromises too much. That might seem weird to say, considering the harsh conditions he has Dream in, but. He does give in to a few things.

I’m wondering if Dream wanted to go to the courtyard hoping it was less secure and easier for Techno to break him out of.

Sam has no reason to lie and gaslight about Dream being the one to suggest raw potatoes and sealing up the courtyard. That’s not in his character to do. So clearly Dream suggested these things. In fact, we have proof. Search for the clip of Dream revealing a teaser for future lore, with him telling Sam the hole in the courtyard ceiling for the light is a security flaw. He straight up says that. Update yourselves. Furthermore, are the recordings we have of Dream suggesting nicer features for the prison even lore? Are they in-character, or was it cc!Dream and Sam making plans? I’m genuinely asking, because I don’t remember/am not sure. In any case, clearly the plans changed at some point, and they were Dream’s idea.

Dream said he didn’t realize how bad it was until after he experienced it. This could very well be a lie. However, it could also be a wake-up call. We just don’t know. Dream clearly possesses low empathy, and every person at some point doesn’t fully realize how poorly another being can feel in a bad situation. Sometimes it actually does take experiencing it yourself to realize how it feels. People can do cruel things to others before the empathy fully clicks. It is possible that Dream really does only now understand how harsh his plans were. Unfortunately, it’s just as likely he doesn’t care and is pretending to, because he has a history of acting, lying, and manipulating. We just do not know, and I think that’s part of the fun, the speculation. Note that none of this is excusing what he’s done; that bores me. I just like understanding characters and their psychology and motives.

Sam is ASKING if Dream had this prison built for Tommy. He is suspicious that that is the case. Dream did not TELL him this, because OBVIOUSLY Sam would have absolutely nothing to do with building a prison he knew Dream meant for Tommy. So no, Sam thought it was for something else. And guess what? It was. Back during the disc war finale stream, Dream told Tommy and Tubbo that the prison was originally intended for someone else (maybe multiple people, the number was not specified), but that he changed his mind and would now put Tommy in it (ha ha punny). Tubbo asked who it was originally intended for, and Dream wouldn’t tell him, preferred to keep it a mystery. Dream had zero reason to say this if it weren’t true. In fact, it would have been more impactful to pretend (or admit) he intended it for Tommy all along. Think of the horror, or even the betrayal finding out Sam, his friend, helped make it. So yes, there is every indication that it is the truth--Dream meant the prison for someone else at first.

And Dream didn’t argue with Sam’s accusations, because why WOULD he? If he didn’t tell Tubbo who it was for, he wouldn’t tell Sam now. Plus, he wouldn’t want to argue with Sam, make him more heated and less sympathetic, and risk him deciding to tell Quackity Dream was there after all. Dream has no reason to speak up. Let Sam think what he wants. Dream’s silence does not mean confirmation. This is not a new thing with him. He keeps things mysterious, and there is a lot about his planning and mindset he does not disclose.

Now, whether Dream made the prison harsher before or after he decided he wanted Tommy in it is up for speculation. We don’t know that timeline.

Anyway, Sam’s speech about Dream getting what he deserves is really delicious. All these people out here mocking Dream fans for Dream still being in prison (like Techno’s not imminently coming to break him out, hello?) and being told off by Sam, yet plenty of us are enjoying it, too, like?? Bruh, what kind of Mary-Sue-touting asshole likes characters who are flawless who never go through strife? Can’t be me. I love watching my favs through triumph AND despair, so this is all just a win for me, thanks.

It is possible to sympathize with a bastard who is highly flawed and wrong AND to understand his motivations without justifying his actions AND to realize he deserves punishment (though to what degree I don’t care to argue). All the black and white morality and taking one extreme stance of “this character is perfect!” OR “this character is wholly evil and only ever does things to be sadistic!” and polarizing the community is cringe, yo. You need to calm down. Enjoy the ride or like...get off?

Anyway, Dream is my favorite, Techno is my second favorite, I adore Sam, I really enjoy Quackity, and the SMP wouldn’t be the same without Tommy. So much love for all of this creative work and its creators. I’m having a blast.

(Disclaimer Note: This is all based on C!Quackity’s lore. This is also all based around their characters, NOT the CC’s. I am also NOT encouraging you to ship any of these characters -- especially bc some DO NOT feel comfortable with that. Also, no Minors are included because NO. This has just been a running Quackity joke for a while, and the concept of C!Quackity trying to flirt with all of these characters to speedrun the server like a legit dating sim sounds just so funny to me. Please do not attack me.)

These are just the routes I’ve come up with for fun, and you can kind of see how a lot of them turn out by the names asjhdgksaj. (I don’t mind explaining what happens in any of them if you wanna know.) ** For anyone that doesn’t know Mystic Messenger by the way, there are 3 Main Endings (Good, Neutral, Bad) for Every Character, a True Neutral End, a True Bad End, and some other Bad Ends along the way if you start Good, then turn Bad towards a Character you’re pursuing.

But also, since this is Quackity… Him balancing out affection towards Karl and Sapnap, gets the Karlnapity Route, which is technically also a Main Route.

I will say though… Karl would probably have secret bonus options in the Advanced Routes that become available that involve Quackity finding out Karl’s a Time Traveler (something he discovers vaguely in Karl’s Main Route), but it leads to Quackity finding out more about Karl’s Time Travelling— the way Karl dies each time, the Dopplegangers, the Inbetween, etc.

Upon discovering all these things and finishing Karl’s Route in Advanced as a Good End, Secret Endings become Available to him. (This is where we’re gonna get SERIOUS, just so you know. We’re living like the Dream Daddy Simulator and there’s more lore than you realize.) More about the Secret Endings under the cut with the actual hidden lore because this post is about to be LONG.

These Secret Endings actually include Quackity witnessing Karl’s Time Traveling firsthand… Also, potentially Quackity traveling WITH Karl through time and into the Inbetween.

Upon him finishing this Secret Ending (which ends with him calming Karl through everything and a hopeful ending of him promising to help Karl to learn more about Karl’s abilities and save Karl’s memories), another route is open.

There’s Three Secret Endings that reveal themselves in total. That was only the first. The final two are connected, but the third being revealed depends on Quackity getting all the Main Bad Ends.

The Second Secret End is directly tied to Karl’s Bad End and the Fiancés’ Bad End in Advanced where in both, Karl forgets Quackity and Quackity lives alone in Las Nevadas.

In the OG Good Ending with Karl, they get married and stay El Rapids with Sapnap (romantic or platonically). In the Good Advanced with Karl, Quackity builds Las Nevadas and Karl almost forgets him, but Quackity comes home and finds out what happened.

The Second Secret Ending is what happens after Karl’s Advanced Bad Ending where he forgets Quackity. This Quackity, who’s chosen not to find out why he wasn’t invited to Kinoko, finds Sapnap struggling enough between helping Karl, managing Kinoko, and everything with Dream. Karl is gone again. Quackity, though still angry with the two, decides to help find Karl.

What ends up happening though is Quackity and Sapnap discover The Library (something Quackity discovers only in the Good Advanced End). They search around and find The Books. Obviously, the two start freaking out until Karl appears. This Karl isn’t their Karl. He looks the same, but there’s a noticeable white streak in his hair. Another thing is that he remembers Quackity.

It’s discovered in that moment that this “Dating Sim” situation with Quackity being able to restart through every path (though he fully never remembers any of them once the paths end) is the work of Time Travel. It’s Karl sending him back in time to make things right. The Karl in their timeline will only continue to get worse and lose all his memories. He NEEDS his memories, otherwise Karl can’t fix the timeline. There’s a huge threat that is going to be showing itself. Everyone WILL be doomed if Karl can’t repair the timeline, however, this Karl can’t fix it for him. Whatever threat that is going to come after them in the near future is following this Karl’s trail too closely. If this Karl tried to do it, he’d be leading the threat back in time with him and things would be doomed even sooner. He can only send back one, which is how Quackity gets chosen. Even though Quackity protests, Sapnap insists that it be Quackity to go. Sapnap can’t leave. If he did, he would be abandoning their timeline’s Karl, along with George and Kinoko. There’s a small argument between Quackity and Sapnap over this, but Sapnap admits he just Can’t. The timeline might change, but he couldn’t live with himself imagining Karl coming home without someone there to remind him that it is Home. Or George finally waking up and Sapnap not being able to be there. Quackity might have Las Nevadas to worry about, but Sapnap has the weight of two of the most important people in their lives on his shoulders. He can’t do it. Future Karl assures Quackity that he’d be good for this, too. That past Karl NEEDS him. His Fiancé NEEDS him. And this way, Quackity can help Sapnap! In the end, Quackity agrees. He reluctantly agrees to go. Future Karl just grins at him and hands him a pocket watch that in future runs, Quackity will be more aware of having because he’s actually had it in every route that wasn’t Karl’s Advanced Route. Right as Future Karl is teaching Quackity how to use it, the portal behind Karl turns a sickly neon green and yellow. Karl looks panicked at the sight. He quickly starts ushering Quackity to leave. NOW. Right as Quackity does, he just manages to see a glimpse of a hooded being stepping through the portal. He’s gone before he can see who it is. The Final Secret Ending becomes available.

The Final Secret Ending is ENTIRELY based on Quackity getting to all the Bad Endings for the Mains and all Karl’s Endings. That’s because the Final Secret Ending is, of course, about Dream. Up until this point, Dream has been doing his typical Dream things. In the Main Routes, he’s more of an idle character for Quackity because Quackity’s not directly involved with him yet. In the Advanced, Dream has reached the point of being imprisoned, thus Quackity is incredibly aware of everything Dream’s done. Somehow, this Dream eventually finds a way to escape the prison. He becomes more powerful upon getting released and somehow finds out about Karl’s powers, leading him down the road of wanting to understand him so that he himself can “fix the server”. Karl can’t allow Dream to tamper with the timeline because it’ll ruin everything. Dream, of course, finds a way into getting into Karl’s library and trying to find the necessary information to do it himself. Insert more plot leading to Dream eventually chasing Karl through the portals to stop Karl from reaching a timeline where they can change the story, and thus enters Quackity. In this Final Secret Ending, Quackity discovers everything that happening because Dream appears before Karl in The Library and reveals everything. Karl arrives late, just as this version of Dream is about to actually kill Quackity because, you know, personal reasons, but also Dream’s figured out Karl’s plan. Right as Dream’s about to kill Quackity though, Karl manages at the last second to shove Quackity the pocket watch, but Karl ends up getting killed in the process. Quackity has no time to mourn before he wakes back up in the past. And that’s all the Karl routes (which technically along with Sapnap) make for the True Endings! So there’s all of that story! ^u^ Definitely way more than I considered plotting out... But ya know,,, I fucking love Mystic Messenger and I love C!Quackity lore, along with C!Karl... So this started as a joke, but now you get lore to it! So please enjoy this brainrot! I put WAYYYY too much thought into it ajsgalkdjghlkd

I know Dream's not going to die (because he's hot) because it'd would be incredibly stupid to kill of the person who started it (unless Dream is solely then DreamXD).

However if he was to die the only people who I would accept doing it are Sapnap (because he said he would and I want Sapnap lore), George (not going to happen. killing Dream requires a lore stream George could never), Ranboo (only if Dream is actually controlling Ranboo otherwise absolutely not) or someone under the influence of the Egg since majority of the Egg members were og members and therefore part of the of Dream family or were super close to Dream before prison.

Tommy doing it seems ridiculous and the most boring option. Sam doing it is lazy writing and a copout. Nobody else has expressed wanting Dream dead so nobody else can do it.

Sapnap is literally the only acceptable option. He's the one who Dream abandoned. He's the one who promises to kill Dream if he escaped. Sapnap wants to do lore.

An idea that could happen and would boost other storylines is if Sapnap goes to kill Dream but is actually helping him escape and go into hiding. They could implement Karl time traveling with an alternate version of Dream for Sapnap to kill whilst Karl brings actual Dream to KK. As much as I hate DreamSMP Karl it would be a way to introduce him to the main storyline through time travel. A few people know about his time traveling (Connor and Dream as far as I know) so nobody would consider it. They'd just see Sapnap killing Dream.

Sapnap killing alternate Dream would kickstart a massive change since the timeline is now fucked. This now lead to two options The first being It kick-starts and speeds up several storylines like majority of the SMP is Egg (Snowchester mansion is covered, Arctic Empire and Syndicate base are both covered, Foolish's place is completely red, the entirety of the SMP is egg and it's now everyone's problem because everyone's house is completely covered, which makes the Syndicate take action against the Egg which becomes the main storyline. It also kick-starts lore for Quackity, Fundy and Connor etc

The second option is killing a different version of Dream fucks up the world so bad (butterfly effect) like Tubbo's nukes accidentally go off and destroy everything leading DreamXD to step in and teleport them to a new world (saving several builds) and that's how they end up in 1.17. (Obviously Tubbo's nukes blowing up building would be done on a copy world like Ranboo's fake prison visit was leaving the og world safe) 1.17 would be in the same seed but fresh so no mining tunnels, no half trees, no creeper holes. But DreamXD would have transported as many builds as he could and in the same place as they should be (obviously they'll do it before updating the world otherwise Snowchester might be a mountain with goats).

Every build and historical piece is still there. Essentially the 1.17 copy is just to get them to the new update and the nukes would be a storyline reason to do so. Instead of just updating the world since it's pretty much fully explored. They just take a short break to remake lore items and retame pets. (Obviously with spawn eggs and creative mode)

It could also make it so the Egg is underground in a huge cave making it look even more epic. (Like DreamXD fucking up during transport meaning nobody has items unless they were in enderchests and accidentally bringing the egg with but the egg power was so strong it made a massive hole underground and is underneath the entirety of the DreamSMP (minus places that require nether travel))

DreamXD also doesn't know about the Nether since he's an End Guardian so nothing from the nether gets transported apart from the nether hub and the beginning of walkway's since they're so close to the portal.

Essentially the 1.17 update only bringing enderchest of items per person (not including pets or Michael) so everyone arrives with no food, armour, tools unless they have spare in their enderchest. It's a way to get people on the SMP more and makes people doing grind streams to remake gear. It also makes it so more people have access to god apples and totem. The 1.17 update accidentally also opens the end portal meaning people can enter. They're not allowed because they canonically don't know what it is but one of the first ring of portals is almost complete (Not the Syndicate table one) My Headcanon is the more the portal is completely the more memories Ranboo has. His memories are being stored in the end so once the portal is open he starts to remember things. So a portal being almost complete could mean that Ranboo starts to remember certain things pertaining to other people's lore which is how they're started.

TLDR: Dream dies to Sapnap, World goes Boom, DreamXD transports them to an identical world but it's in 1.17. They only travel with an enderchest of items meaning everyone has to rebuild gear and tools by streaming and exploring the new update.

if you think c!dream deserves torture, you don’t know what torture is

alrighty, it’s time for me to do annoyingly in-depth lore analysis again because i have seen way too many people on my dash and twitter timeline saying that c!dream deserves to be tortured.

i don’t really think people have a comprehensive, reality-based understanding of what torture actually is, what it can do, and the motivations behind it. i, unfortunately, do: i’ve done extensive professional-level study on torture, so i’m going to do my best to put out some knowledge into our little dsmp-related world.

alright then, let’s start: what is torture, anyway?

there are two types of definitions, general and legal. i’ll reference both, but the message they carry is essentially the same, so i’ll just paraphrase the united nations definition that’s party to (read: supported/enforced by) 170 countries:

torture is any act that intentionally causes SEVERE harm to someone, physical OR mental, for the purposes of extracting information or punishment for failure to do so, with explicit consent from an acting public authority.

i’ll break down those components in the context of the dsmp in a second, but i first want to make it very clear what torture ISN’T. torture is not manipulation, it is not "trauma” in the way trauma is broadly conceived, it is not even direct physical abuse. you can suffer abuse from, say, a parent or a partner, and that abuse is about a power dynamic, where one person is being forcibly subordinated to the other. torture, on the other hand, is not necessarily about power, and it’s definitely not ONLY about power dynamics; torture, by its very definition, has to be intensely and officially coercive, and it has to be SEVERE. there are not degrees of torture, like there are degrees of abuse: being deprived of sleep for days or even weeks at a time is just as psychologically impactful as losing a limb or being waterboarded (simulated drowning- a common torture method that the us has been known to employ).

this is my first major issue with the way some viewers of the dsmp approach this whole debacle. i constantly hear c!tommy’s manipulation by c!dream cited as a perfect justification for c!dream’s torture. what c!tommy, and others on the server- particularly the kids- went through is horrible, and intensely traumatic. i will never deny them that, especially as a survivor of abuse myself, but torture is not just another form of trauma. that’s a very important distinction that we, as viewers, have to draw: torture is considerably worse because it is sanctioned, it is coercive, and its explicit goal is not just to cause pain or make someone feel powerless (common goals of abusers), but instead to shatter someone.

in more specific terms, the mental goal of torture is to completely unmake someone’s conception of the world, how they interact with it, and their basic sense of identity. if you read accounts or speak with survivors of torture, it is frequently mentioned that their very way of processing everything in life was destroyed by pain and had to be rebuilt, completely different, after escape. by destroying one’s individuality, will, and their most integral of processing abilities, you destroy their grasp on the world; and, to put it lightly, such a breaking event is awful enough that, in an effort to make it stop and regain some sense of normalcy, the victim will tell their persecutors what they want to hear. it’s the reason why confessions obtained through torture are notoriously not admissible in courts of law. this goes far beyond abuse or manipulation, and i need everyone to understand that.

now, let’s get to c!dream’s situation. did he do awful things? yes, undoubtedly. i’m a c!dream apologist, but his manipulation of c!tommy and c!tubbo was very fucked up. beyond that, his notable “crimes” that others on the server aren’t also guilty of committing (e.g., murder, theft, arson, to name a few common ones) really just consist of especially massive destruction of property (people leave c!techno and c!phil out of this equation, much to my chagrin, but i won’t get into it here). punishment for his actions is understandable, and is typically what justice systems aim to do. but, even if we completely ignore the inherent inhumanity of pandora (HOOO BOY that’s a lot to ignore but i digress), c!dream is not being punished, he’s being tortured. 

going by the definition i used, let’s break it down:

c!sam knows what c!quackity is doing to c!dream, allows it, and even encourages it. as the warden, he is the person in an official, authority position giving their consent. 

c!quackity is, by his own admission, doing what he is to get information out of c!dream. it’s not a confession in this context, but very specific piece of knowledge, with the promise of death also hanging right above it.

list of extreme psychological abuse: long-term solitary confinement (torture if it’s more than 22 hours. c!dream has been in solitary confinement for more than 60 days now), deprivation of the passage of time, general verbal abuse, incredibly limited social contact (people start to fray without basic interaction after a while).

list of extreme physical abuse (god where do i start): prolonged starvation, malnourishment when he isn’t being starved (you will die without protein intake); use of Warden’s Will Breaker pickaxe (it can hack through obsidian, so i think that’s all i need to say), shears (can be used to do things like pull nails, break limb’s bones, amputate toes/fingers/a whole arm in c!ponk’s case), and an OP axe (a sharp blade capable of slicing easily through wood with brute force, and bone is significantly easier to crush than wood). 

so, we have consent of authority, coercion for the sake of extracting information, and severe physical/mental abuse meant solely to cause extreme pain. c!dream is being tortured according to the proper, internationally-sanctioned definition of the term, and that is not okay in any circumstances whatsoever. 

if you haven’t ever read survivors’ accounts (or the accounts of their victimizers), it’s difficult to understand just how uniquely despicable torture is, and the lifelong effects that remain after it’s over and done with. i honestly recommend you read some testimonials, because it absolutely changes the way you view authority and the world in general.

no one is deserving of this treatment, no matter what atrocities they may or may not have committed. 

it’s a basic tenet of human rights, and i don’t think it should be a hard pill to swallow that it’s never excusable in any circumstance. so, defend c!tommy & co. and criticize c!dream’s actions all you want, but please never say that torture is alright. that statement has real consequences, and real moral implications. don’t be an asshole, and don’t be disrespectful to people who have survived it.

"We first start off at the beginning of the server where the only members were Dream and GeorgeNotFound. After a few days, they decided to add a couple of their friends to the server which include Sapnap, Awesamdude and ItsAlyssa. They built concepts on the server, such as the community house, that are still around today. Everything was running pretty smoothly and well until TommyInnit joined the server on July 4th of 2020. Tommy caused problems breaking the server rules such as griefing, murdering, and overall starting a lot of fights. This would go on to affect the entire history of the server, and spreading an outbreak and wars to come.

The Disc War

The first war we come across is the Disc War. The Disc War was between Dream and TommyInnit. The two discs are Tommy’s prized possessions on the server. Dream however wanted to get a hold of them, so he could have complete control over Tommy. They have been going back and forth, using the discs as leverage over one another all until January 21st of 2021 where Tommy and Tubbo fought Dream to the death. Dream ended up losing 2 of his 3 cannon lives that day and was placed in Pandora’s Vault, a prison built on the server by Awesamdude. Dream would have lost all three of his cannon lives that day, but the only thing that kept Tommy from taking all of them was the fact that Dream could revive people after they had lost their third cannon life. So, with Wilbur dead and hopes to bring him back to life, they just locked up Dream for later use.

The L’amanburg War

The second war we see happen on the server is the L’amanburg War. After the addition of WilburSoot joining the server he had decided to create a nation known as L’amanburg. This nation consisted of himself, Tommy, Fundy, Tubbo, Eret, and Fundy. The war first sparked off when Wilbur and Tommy announced their independence as a nation. Dream did not want this to happen, because he would no longer have control of those people anymore. But, it wasn’t looking too good for L’amanburg as Eret betrayed them leaving them in the dust. There wasn’t any other option, or anything L’amanburg could do at this point so Tommy challenged Dream to a duel. If Tommy won, L’amanburg would get to have its independence. However, if Dream won, he would get one of Tommy’s discs. Tommy did end up losing the war but it wasn’t over just yet. Tommy made yet another deal with Dream that he would give him both of his discs for L’amanburg’s independence. The negotiation was a success, and L’amanburg was born.

The Railway War

The next war is the Railway war. This was a very small and anticlimactic war. Tommy had accidently killed Dream with a minecart, but ultimately tried to benefit from it. He stole Dream’s loot in hopes of making a trade with it to get his discs back. However, Dream saw no point in this and could simply get new gear. So, he killed Tommy’s pet horse and the war came to an end as Tommy returned Dream’s items.

The Pet War

As another small war, the Pet War didn’t really end well. Dream SMP member Sapnap had begun the pet war by killing Nihachu’s pet fox as well Fundy’s enderman. Niki got hurt and sought revenge. With Tommy’s help, he stole Sapnap’s two pet fish, Beckerson and Mars, and with the help of Fundy, killed one of Sapnap’s foxes. Sapnap then decided to blow up the gravesite for Niki’s pet, which resulted in a duel between Fundy and Sapnap. Ultimately, Fundy had lost and the war just ended, as neither side had leverage over one another.

The Manberg Rebellion

Wilbur, President of L’amanburg, decided to hold an election since there was no vote giving him his leadership. Four parties were then created. Pog2020 with Wilbur and Tommy, Swag2020 with Quackity and GeorgeNotFound, Coconut2020 with Niki and Fundy, and Schlatt2020 with JSchlatt running solo. A vote was held on Twitter to have viewers determine the outcome. Pog2020 ended up having the most votes, but before the election started, Quackity made a deal with Schlatt saying that if neither of them were the victors, they would combine their votes. As a result, both parties combined votes so that JSchlatt was voted the new President of L’amanburg, with Quackity as his Vice President. Immediately JSchlatt made his first decree to revoke the citizenship of WilburSoot and TommyInnit.

The War of the Burning Eiffel Tower

Another small war on the server was the War of the Burning Eiffel Tower. This war kicked off when Sapnap had accidently killed Tommy’s pet cow Henry. Tommy plotted his revenge recruiting Dream and Technoblde to fight against Sapnap, BadBoyHalo, Skeppy, Punz and Antfrost. Overall Tommy’s team was stronger, and they ended up winning this war.

Manberg vs. Pogtopia

Manberg vs Pogtopia is arguably one of the best wars and the biggest war to have ever happened on the server. This war took place on November 16, 2020. There was a lot of preparation going into this war as Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, Technoblade, Fundy, and Nihachu built an underground city known as Pogtopia. With help from Technoblade they received some of the best gear on the server that prepared them for war. Along the way they recruited other members to fight against JSchaltt and his new found nation, Manberg. Schlatt received help from Dream along with some others to fight back, until Dream gave up the location of Schaltt where he was hiding. As Tommy was about to take Jschlatt’s last cannon life, he died from a stroke. But, it wasn’t over just yet. Wilbur and Tommy could regain their spots as President and Vice President, but they ended up giving leadership over to Tubbo with Tommy as his Vice. However, this entire time Dream had warned them that there was a traitor among the members Pogtopia. When Schlatt died he admitted to this being a lie, but he was in fact not telling the truth. Wilbur was the traitor. He had been having thoughts of blowing L’amanburg up for the longest time and it had happened on that date. He was caught right before pushing the button by Philza, but after the deed was done, he requested to die, and Wilbur had lost his final canon life. Yet again, it wasn’t over just then. Technoblade, being an anarchist, did not like the idea of rulers or any higher power. When Tubbo became their new leader and felt betrayed since he had helped them regain L’amanburg from Schlatt. So, he unleashed multiple withers, and once they were defeated, he had become an enemy of the state of the New L’amanburg.

The Doomsday War

This war by far was one of the most devastating. Dream, Technoblade, and Philza went against all the members of L’amanburg. The war was supposed to take place at 3:00 P.M., but they attacked earlier and unexpectedly from above, raining thousands upon thousands of explosives on the nation, and unloading a total of 15 withers. L’amanburg was not prepared for this and was destroyed, leaving behind a huge crater of all the history left behind.

Exile Arc

The Exile Arc kicked off when a new member of the server, Ranboo, joined. Ranboo had been goofing around with Tommy and both decided to burn down and grief George’s house. Dream being George’s very close friend was not happy with this at all, and with Tubbo being the new leader of L’amanburg he had demanded that something be done. Over the course of a couple days Dream was like a gnat in Tubbo’s ear trying to get him to betray Tommy. This eventually did happen when Tubbo exiled Tommy from L’amanburg, and he couldn’t walk on any of the grounds of the SMP that had already been discovered. Dream took Tommy far away and would visit him every week, making sure he stayed put. Tommy’s lore from they’re got pretty dark diving into topics that were pretty serious. Eventually he started to wake and realize that he could just run away while Dream was gone. So, he did just that. On his journey away from exile, he discovered a house in one of the snow biomes of the server. This ended up being Technoblade’s house. From here Techno would provide for Tommy until one day he returned to L’amanburg to confront Tubbo. In their altercation Tubbo gave Dream one of Tommy’s discs. Somehow Tommy also ended up turning on Technoblade and becoming friends with Tubbo once more. This is what kicked off the Doomsday War.

The Imprisonment

The Arc ties a lot into the Disc War. Towards the end of the Disc War, Dream was put in Pandora’s Vault for later use, claiming he could revive the dead. Since then Dream has been in this prison with no way of escaping. The prison system, run by Awesamdude, was thought to be very safe and inescapable. Overtime people have visited Dream including Tommy, Sapnap, BadBodyHalo, and Ranboo. One day Tommy vowed that this would be his last time visiting Dream. Everything was going smooth until unexpected explosions were heard right outside of the prison. With security being so tight and strict in Pandora’s Vault, Tommy would have to remain in prison with Dream until the security situation was resolved. The situation was in fact not resolved for over two weeks. Tommy had been annoying Dream constantly with their time together. One day Dream snapped and killed Tommy taking his last cannon life. Tommy’s next stream we see a pitch black screen, and Tommy is heard talking to Wilbur in the afterlife. Wilbur’s voice all of a sudden gets very faint, to the point of where it vanishes. Tommy’s screen then flashed back to him inside the prison with Dream. Tommy had been brought back to life. With this Tommy was able to escape the cell notifying Sam. Viewers were able to learn that Dream actually had the power to bring people back to life and we are left to wonder what he will do with it.

Ranboo’s Memory

Ranboo’s character has memory loss. He is also half Enderman, and the other half is still yet to be revealed. As Ranboo starts going about his day to day time on the server, we see a voice starting to talk to him. This voice is believed to be Dream. These voices keep appearing in Ranboo’s head, and as a result he builds a panic room. Ranboo also started to journal everything he did in a book so he wouldn’t forget anything. Ranboo also has a condition called an Enderwalk. Certain things trigger his Enderwalk such as when anyone types “:)”. From there he won’t remember anything of what happens when he wakes up, and is able to cause serious damage. If we take a look back to when there was a security issue and Tommy got stuck in the prison. The only person on the server who wasn’t doing anything at the time was Ranboo. It is said that he was the one who planted explosions near the prision and trapped Tommy inside. However, he couldn’t recall what he did that day, so many believe that he was in an Enderwalk state. A little before this event even occurred, Ranboo was thought to have visited Dream. When Ranboo visited the prison, everything seemed a little off. Things started to get really weird when Dream had multiple copies of Ranboo’s journal with him. The screen ended up getting all swirly, and eventually blacked out, only with a “:)” left.

Tales of the SMP

A couple months ago in one of Karl’s streams, we learned that he was able to time travel. Since then he has traveled numerous times to places like The Town That Never Was, The Village That Went Mad, The Beach Episode, The Lost City of Mizu, The Masquerade, The Wild West, The Haunted Mansion and The Pit. All of these streams include little bits of lore from the future and the past. But, when his traveling is done, he returns to a place called The Inbetween. Here we first learn that it was a place meant for time travelers to rest and take a break. It is a beautiful white castle in the sky, and doesn’t seem to have a problem in the world. This is until we see some books that pop up in random places. It is as though one person is telling him this place is safe, and another that is telling him he needs to hide and get out of there. Up until Karl’s most recent Tales stream “The Pit”, Karl wasn’t able to leave The Inbetween, aside from being able to return home. But, there was a portal that we had learned of in the Inbetween, and the gate blocking the portal was no longer there. As Karl raced to the portal, words popped up on the screen that kept telling him to get and and that he was almost there. Once through the portal, we enter a world called The Other Side. In this world there is a black castle. And with a book inside, it assures him that this is a safe place. However, when Karl eventually returns home, he keeps getting weaker. He loses his memory and begins to write down all the adventures he goes on.

The Egg

After the Doomsday War, we see a red type of vine coming from deep below in the crater. It leads to a giant red egg. The egg has taken over people’s minds, and whispers to them in a language that the controlled can only understand. With this a group called the eggpire was formed, with the egg controlling multiple people such as BadBoyHalo, Skeppy, Punz, Antfrost and Hannah. The egg has spread all over the server and up till now has been a nuisance. Recently, however, the egg allowed its followers to destroy the egg vines across the server since it didn’t want to make the other people of the server upset. Members of the eggpire such as BadBoyHalo, AntFrost and Punz have been pushing people to go see the egg and join the empire. Although most of their attempts have been unsuccessful, on April 25, 2021, we are expected to see something called the Red Banquet. Multiple people outside of the eggpire have been invited, and several theories are being churned up for what might happen.

Las Nevadas

SMP member Quackity has been working on a project called Las Nevadas for the past month. Since then, we have gotten two streams building up more and more of Quackity’s lore. In his first lore stream, we see Quackity confront BadBoyHalo to express his desire of wanting his friend back, since he has been corrupted by the egg. We also see a very big moment in which the Awesamdude has allowed Quackity to enter the prison everyday, and tourture Dream until he gets the revive book on how to bring people back to life, but to no avail just quite yet. The final installment that is shown in this first lore stream is all of the memories of El Rapids. El Rapids was a country created by Quackity that included members such as George, Sapnap, and Karl. Participants are led to believe that the three other members just abandoned Quackity, but we see in his next lore stream that wasn’t exactly the case. During his next lore stream we see a “prequel” of the first stream involving Las Nevadas. We see an interaction with Quackity and George after everyone else left El Rapids. Quackity explained how he was building Las Nevadas and would make money with his casinos, hotels, and many more attractions. Then we get a hard hitting question about what happened to El Rapids. George explains that he, Karl, and Sapnap went to go build a new county called Kinoko Kingdom However, Quackity was supposed to be included in all of this, but Karl forgot to tell him. Viewers expect that Karl forgot due to his time traveling problem, hence why it is so hard-hitting.

Overall, the history of the Dream SMP is very long, to say the least. There are definitely more bits and pieces of lore that were not included that can be seen on some of the vods correlated to whichever streamer was streaming a certain event on Twitch or on Youtube. If you plan on watching the Dream SMP or plan on catching up on some of the lore you may have missed, reading this article should put you up to date as of publication time. I also recommend going to watch “SAD-ist” on YouTube. The animatics she has ranging from “Warriors” to “Hog-Hunt” cover the majority of events and wars that have occurred on the server. "

FUNDY LORE ANALYSIS

Howdy, howdy friends! After about 6 hours of pure thinking, I have more Dream SMP brain rot-theory-analysis stuff for you! This week I’m on spring break, so unfortunately I’m not prolonging any assignments haha! Today my focus is FUNDY LORE >:) and I’ve sprinkled in a little IRL factoids for ya to enjoy!

Fundy’s lore stream took place today, 3/30/2021. It's roughly 45 minutes, so if you have some time to kill, go watch it! It’s really well done, and his acting is incredible. I will give you a warning; it contains derealization. If you choose not to watch it, here’s a summary from Twitter! link

First, let’s talk about what we know of Fundy’s character so far. 

Fundy’s story throughout the events of the SMP are quite tragic. A few key staples are...

1: the death and betrayals of both Wilbur and Schlatt, as well as the absence of Eret-- all of whom he viewed as father figures (Wilbur being his biological father, and Eret his adopted father who failed to show up at his adoption ceremony. Schlatt was a source of validation and approval for Fundy). 

2: Jealousy of Tommy and Tubbo-- These two replaced Fundy’s position as Wilbur’s son during the L’Manburg eras, and Fundy became rightfully jealous towards them. He no longer felt valued by his father, and was only more negatively impacted when Wilbur made an attempt to mend that rift. 

3: witnessing the rise and ultimate fall of L’Manburg-- and even assisting in its destruction with Niki. 

Along with some other rocky encounters with his family members in the timeline, Fundy can be simply boiled down as a character with no stable relationships to his family, or those whom he considers family. However, he does deeply value his friends and the fun that he has with them-- which we can assume is one of his attachments (this will be important later). He takes pride in making mischief and carries a friendly persona… which makes him easily approachable. 

He does carry valid reasons to instigate villainous acts-- but he instead chooses to remain neutral due to his fear of losing something else close to him. 

I have a number of thoughts regarding Fundy’s character and his current lore, so enough stalling from me, and let's get into it!

Analysis of Stream:

The desert

When Fundy leaves his tower for the first time during the dream sequence, the world is no longer the SMP, but is replaced with a barren desert. From the title of the stream, we can infer that this desert represents Fundy’s Mind and contains the majority of what he thinks about. Deserts often symbolize loneliness or emptiness, and can also be synonymized with brutal honesty or survival. Fundy’s character is indeed alone (in terms of family), and has fought for his survival by being sly and mischievous through Schlatt’s reign of Manburg. Sand itself symbolizes the passage of time, or in other words, the inevitability of the future or truth. As we see in each of the 3 dream sequences, the mysterious bunker containing “truth” appears closer and closer to Fundy’s tower and also becomes more withered and worn on the inside, implying that Fundy cannot escape the coming of truth and future as time passes. 

The desert itself contains a replica of the Camarvan from the old L’Manburg days-- likely a representation of Fundy’s childhood that he holds onto dearly, in spite of his past trauma. During the first dream sequence, the van even contains Wilbur-- perhaps to mock Fundy’s pain, or remind him of it. During the second sequence, Wilbur is gone, likely referencing Wilbur’s absence in Fundy’s life, or his death. During the 3rd dream sequence, the Camarvan is replaced with what looks to be a crater, or the aftermath of an explosion. This could possibly reference the ultimate destruction of L’Manburg (and the destruction of the van), or it could be foreshadowing of the destruction in the future… 

Side theory, here! Tubbo just lost a nuke, and multiple people have vendettas against Dream / want him dead. The pit seemed like it was made out of black stone and obsidian, the same materials as the prison, so it is likely that this is an allusion to Dream’s possible escape.

Who is “He”?

On his 3rd visit to the odd bunker in his dream world, Fundy reads the 3rd book in the chest. Towards the end, this book warns him of a vague male character that Fundy should not join, or avoid at all costs. To quote the book…

“Do not join him. Whatever he asks of you. Do NOT join him. His plans aren’t as nice as they sound. His intentions aren’t what you think they are. He will use you. He will destroy you. Everything you ever loved, everyone you ever cared about. Do not join him.” 

I bet a few characters instantly came to your mind as to who this person that Future Fundy is warning us about, and I’m going to list who I first thought it could be below: 

Technoblade and the Syndicate. Now, I disagree with this option, even though Techno has the outright power to destroy anything and everything like he’s done before. However, because of the creation of the Anarchist Syndicate and their accommodating ideals, it would be out of his character or set of ideals to suddenly destroy Fundy’s attachments to purely demonstrate his power. Also, Fundy no longer represents any forms of government, so he does not pose a threat to the Syndicate. 

I did theorize here that Fundy could be Harpocrates, but that would imply that he goes against the warnings of his future self. (Also not to mention the placement of this stream in the timeline would have to be much later in the past.) But the more that I think about it, the more likely it could be. It wouldn’t necessarily be out of character for Fundy to join the Syndicate and side with Techno against the warnings of his inner voice, but he has been a spy before… 

BBH / the Eggpire. This is also not a likely option for our “he” character, because it is more likely that this dangerous person is not associated with a group such as the Syndicate or Eggpire-- in other words, he operates alone. The Eggpire has plenty of members and those who oppose it, even BBH tried to recruit Fundy and failed. Our “he” has not had an interaction with Fundy yet, and I don’t think that the Eggpire would make an effort to reach out to him again. 

My theory is that Quackity is our “he” figure. As I’ve stated before (see my C!Sam post here), Quackity has proven himself to be an effective manipulator, and could easily persuade Fundy to join his side. Quackity has power over Dream at this time in the plot, and is using it to gain knowledge about revival. He could use his acquired learning from Dream to make a deal with Fundy through using Wilbur’s revival to appease his interest (and provide a chance at healing, given his tough past). Not to mention his cameo at the end of Fundy’s lore stream-- There’s plenty more involvement in the lore that we are going to see from Q. 

The Mysterious Figure

During the final dream sequence of Fundy’s lore stream, he opens the door to his tower, only to see a dark figure, staring into the world… or rather, the absence thereof. This Figure has no other significant character details besides the black hood/cloak and no ign, so we have no evidence as to who it is. I’ve seen plenty of people theorize that this person could be BBH (because of the similarities in cloak design) or they could be the “he” Fundy’s logs are warning him about. But I disagree-- I strongly believe that this mysterious figure is neither of those options, rather, The Mysterious Figure is someone completely separate in this story. Here are a few people I think it could be: 

Wilbur/Schlatt-- both of whom are dead, and could manifest inside Fundy’s mind as spirits or ghosts. 

Dream-- he causes paranoia in many of the younger characters of the SMP, so I wouldn’t put it past him to haunt Fundy like he did Ranboo (the voice in his head). 

Fundy-- a form of himself from the future, or a representation of his conscience (wants, desires, etc). 

Or a guide/protector to Fundy’s mind-- we could see more of this figure if episodes like this stream occur in the future. A character similar to that of the Inbetween or Other Side.

It is important to note that at the end of the sequence, the Mysterious Figure chased Fundy up the tower in fear, causing him to sleep and escape the dream world. I think Fundy would only react this way if he felt directly threatened, so this figure is likely someone unknown and intimidating, or familiar and repulsive enough to cause behaviour akin to a sort of PTSD. It is possible that this figure doesn’t have malicious intent, because there was a bed placed on top of Fundy’s tower. The figure was likely supposed to guide Fundy to this bed to escape the dream world, but this encounter probably did not go according to plan, due to Fundy’s reaction. 

His Internal Monologue

Through the presence of fear and doubt we can learn about the deeper parts and truths of a character. This is the case with Fundy: while he is distressed and afraid in his dream world, through the provided angst we learn about what Fundy truly wants. Fundy states that he wants this dream to end, and he wants to go back to his friends and his old life. He longs for the times where he can just have fun again and prank people, when his friends were there for him. Except, sometimes they weren’t. He states he would join parties and join groups only to watch them disappear as he started to get attached to them. Now, whenever the word “attachment” is uttered anywhere I immediately think back to Dream’s speech, perhaps Fundy is becoming more aware of what he could be endangered by.

Deja Reve

There’s no theory attached to this, just some super cool stuff I found. :)

The reveal of Fundy’s powers instantly set off a flag in my mind the second I heard it. His “powerset” or ability is one of foreshadowing, whatever he dreams about, could happen or is linked to the future. Now, the reason I bring this up is partly because I think it is cool, and it is actually a REAL thing. And I’ve experienced it. Let me introduce you to Deja Reve. 

Deja Reve isn’t really a condition or illness, rather it is a “creepier” form of its more popular counterpart, Deja Vu. When translated directly from French, Deja Reve means “already dreamed.” This word is a descriptor for a specific sequence of events: you dream something, and it happens later, in real life. No, I’m not making this up, and yes, it is real. I’ve had this happen to me multiple times. 

Deja Reve isn’t so simple as “i dreamt this so it will happen tomorrow”. In my case, I would have a particular dream, for example, I went to a Subway with my mom and she discussed with the manager about having my sister work at that location. The morning after I would forget the dream like any other, but many weeks later the exact event I dreamt would happen. I can remember it now, right down to the sandwich I ordered and the way my mom moved across the establishment to talk to the manager-- it was word for word, vision for vision. Each time Deja Reve occurs, I freeze, and I think I’m experiencing a second copy of life, or rewatching a movie. It's super weird, but cool. If something like this has ever happened to you, leave a comment below, I’d love to hear your experiences!

Now I bring this up because many people mistake these sorts of things as having foresight or being able to prophesize-- but it's not the same thing. Deja Reve occurs more often in the younger population, and becomes less and less active as one gets older. Because Fundy is still relatively young in the SMP timeline, I think that not only is this a cool ability set for him to have, but it makes sense for him psychologically as well. There is no clear cause or reason behind why individuals experience Deja Reve, but personally, I believe it has to do with the condition of your brain and it’s experiences to past trauma. Kids who experience trauma find elaborate ways to cope, and usually defer to their imagination. Due to the fact that most of Fundy’s trauma occurred while he was very young in the SMP lore, it is definitely plausible that his amplified, or “more woke” application of Deja Reve, is a product of his past. 

Number Symbolism

I’ll keep this section short, because this post is already miles long, but similar to the previous section, this is something SUPER COOL that I noticed :]

Each book that Fundy reads has a specific number of pages… haha big whoop, Biz, that’s not weird. But did you know that some numbers have symbolism? Did you notice that the 3 books in each dream sequence each had 87 pages, which symbolize family, organization, and idealism? That number symbolizes what Fundy WANTS, but also what he’ll never get if he’s not careful. The first two times he read that book he didn’t finish it… He didn’t achieve his goal? 

Did you also notice that the signed book had 22 pages? That number symbolizes redemption, intuition, emotions, duty and diplomacy-- qualities that oddly correlate to warnings. This number represents what Fundy will NEED to be, in order to survive his future. Also, a Catch 22… take that as you will ;) 

Sidenote… 

Ok this is the last mini section before the end, but another thing that immediately popped into my head during Fundy’s lore was the factor of derealization. Nothing major, but the other times we’ve seen this storytelling or manipulation technique used was during...

I have a feeling that whenever derealization is being used, it’s intended to distract the character from the true evil, to prevent them from tracking their own course or fulfilling their own story… So I’ll be excited to see where Fundy takes his.
