So … this is probably going to sound corny as hell, but I was just on Twitter and someone’s post got me thinking.

I truly don’t know how anyone watched Supernatural without seeing that, or not wanting, Sam and Dean to be the heart and soul of the show. They ARE, of course.

Literally, Dean is the "heart." He’s the throbbing, open wound of emotion on the show. Our emotions aren’t always good or something we should let dictate our decisions. They aren’t even always truthful, but they are what drives us a lot of the time. He loves like crazy, for better or worse. He embodies bravery in a fight and fear of being alone. Dean starts the show as heartbroken (for his family, especially Sam) and lonely, and he ends it feeling completed.

When Dean is the most not-Dean, it’s when he is a Demon. He still technically has a soul, but he’s lost his humanity (or heart).

Meanwhile, Sam is the "soul." He’s the ethereal or cerebral, the essential spark that gives a body life (there is no show if there is no Sam, and there is no Dean if there is no Sam). It’s where the conscience and compassion come from, and where faith dwells. Sam starts the show as the soul that is tainted and needs redemption and, by the end, he gets it. Sam is hope and the yearning for more than the base (hunter) life.

Sorry, this just popped into my head when I was thinking of Sam (🎶he wants more than this provincial life🎶) … and I can’t find a soul gif with Sam, so here he is soulless.

When Sam is the most not-Sam, it’s when he’s soulless. His lack of compassion and care make him almost alien.

This even makes sense for why Sam can live on without Dean, but Dean can’t live without Sam. The soul can exist without the body (depending on your belief system). This doesn’t mean Sam is whole without Dean, just that he can exist without him. But Dean, being the heart, needs a spark to keep on beating. The heart can beat, or go through the motions, with artificial assistance when someone is brain dead (or has lost the spark of life), but they aren’t truly alive anymore. No one is home.

Okay. I need to go to bed. This is a big oversimplification, and metaphors got pretty messy here, but I just needed to get my thoughts out there. Thanks to anyone who bothered to read my rambles! 🫂

One more thing before I go to bed … The Impala is the body. The show is complete because it has Sam, Dean and Baby: the soul, the heart and the body.

Okay, this is the last, last thing because I can’t help but write it … A human body doesn’t need wings. So, the feathered one is, in fact, not essential for the show to be complete.

i needed some coworkers to hear keekki's meow and the only place i had a video of it on hand was tumblr so i whipped out my keekki post and played it and one person saw my screen and i forgot to click it so it wouldnt display my username in the video player and. hm. now im scared.

#almost immediately after this i got dropped off to a parking lot where my car was and people possibly saw my fudanshi sticker #and i had a backpack and aa bag and hat to put the bag on the ground while i got my keys from my backpacl and i fumbled bc i ger #SO nervous when i think ppl may be watching what im doing so while i was trying to unlock my car i knocked my bag over and a shirt and a ba #of chips spilled out and from the bag of chips a single chip and i picked it up in my hand bc i have a trash bag in my car for situations #like this but it might have looked as if i picked the chip up to eat it. from the ground. with plenty of seagull shit around #anyways sometimes i forget i act like a cringefail loser (=am mildly clumsy and get flustered and/or nervous v easy)#and then i have a cringefail moment #well. i have already experienced my most loser moment. it was when i was tired and for some godforsaken reason bought meatballs from a stor #those rlly shitty ones in the ready meals section. they were in a plastic bag. and i was at a train station sitting on some stairs and #eating them. cold. straight out the bag. one fell and i started crying.#its been a while since that though #now that im on t i cant cry easily so its fine #i just think i need to stop seeming as if i were a bit of a pathetic loser gdvfjdbdksm #im sure i had a point somewhere in here but i need to ramble about moments im sure everyone has had #leevi talks

Kaeya’s body temperature is constantly running cold, more than even the average Cryo user’s body. It’s partially because of his own anxiety constantly thrumming through him and making his Vision act up some, but also because he’s come to really dislike warmer temperatures and will do whatever to ensure he doesn’t feel them.

Didn't think the 1989 version of The Woman In Black would be scarier than the one with Dan Radcliffe in it

I was Wrong flkjdsafkldsja, but I'm delighted to have been wrong. I had missed getting scared with more practical effects/careful timing of things in the background of shots appearing and disappearing, and this one scratches that itch well.

Which is probably something I should have realised at first watch #but it only hits now when it's like. how to explain #the casts of both versions are both amazing let's preface with that #but. the Dan version felt very Cinematic. I got scared but was also very aware I was watching An Movie during it #(it got colour-graded quite blue which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it does register in my head as Peak Cinematic for the current time #the version of the characters in this 89 version feel slightly more real? accurate to the culture they come from?#like. there's an American Openness between the ones in the Dan version #they're too open to share and hand out compliments and comments like candy they have too much of #everyone is Nice in a way that feels mildly unrealistic #and when they are mad at each other there's tension but a tension #that to me at least you don't worry abt much bc it just feels almost Already Resolved #and it does sort of just drop off and wind up that way tbh #tho I admit it's been a bit since I read the original story so my apologies if I'm misremembering that it did the same in the book #but I could swear there was more that bit of tension there #anyway it isn't that the 89 characters are all mean but they feel Actually British for lack of better words #they have moments of kindness and do have a general sense of like. yeah they care for their community but also they're getting on w/themsel #and their business and not lingering on the interactions #They're kind but not nice and they just. get on with things which is very nice #and feels more in line with the time period to me/what I expect out of a story like this #anyway speaking of Dan found out the guy playing Arthur in this also played the dad in the gross wizard franchise #which wasn't something I expected to see lol #this is my long barely an essay no one asked for and your sign to go watch the 89 version asap #it's on YT for free which is where I'm watching it so genuinely if anyone want link. yes, i got the Goncharov tumbler

#only complaint is that there's no way to seal the lid so i have to be careful to not spill #which is not ideal. i've seen awesome lids that have a slide closure but ya know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ still worth it #as seen on tumblr #wondering if i'm gonna get comments on it lol #yes i'm going to keep buying tumblr merch #very happy they finally came out with something for Goncharov so i had to get it #also got the ea-nasir bracelet which is way too big for my wrists and doesn't adjust :(#but still glad i got it lol #oh and the tumbler absolutely reeked like death when i first got it #so i washed it (hand wash only) and it smells fine now #could be unrelated but i've been drinking from it (obvs) and got super bad stomach cramps #idk if i didn't wash it well enough and am getting mildly poisoned or if coffee was just a bad choice this morning #sooooooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ rip in peace to me i guess
