he liked how chill you were in some serious situations especially when some of you guys found out that the teachers finish off students who fail the tests, quizzes and stuff. though you were kinda horrified and in disbelief when alice almost killed claire.

long story short, claire survived because of you.

he was so thankful and relieved that you saved the poor girl, he could've been in a much more painful state as miss circle threw him off the brick wall.

he kept saying thank you day by day or whenever he sees you, he gives you gifts and such. you already told him it was enough but he just kept going with the treats he gives you.

of course you didn't mind, you loved receiving gifts.

although, every now and then, he'd start to become quite shy around you, or maybe tease you or maybe even annoy you in a good way!

you hated it but you secretly loved his way of teasing, though you found it weird why he does that occasionally now.

you weren’t known by gojo until you were introduced. surprisingly enough, he wasn’t the only one with charming eyes (and terrifying powers).

content warning: swearing, r! has makima’s abilities and eyes but they don’t necessarily look like her, gender neutral! reader, r! wears a white button up with a black tie, a black blazer hung around their shoulders, black dress pants and a bandage wrapped around their neck (honestly like 15! dazai), etc.

knowingly enough, gojo satoru was known to be charmed and blessed with eyes that most people swoon for ever since he was a child. not only blessed with charming eyes but finally born with both limitless and six eyes, the first one in 500 years.

because of that, he was spoiled rotten (how horrible!) but no one can deny that he didn’t deserve it. after all, after 500 years of the gojo clan producing, they finally got a kid who changed the balance of the world.

after he turned the rip age of 28, he noticed a person always wake by his classroom with a man beside them. the one thing that caught his attention, was the energy they gave off.

not once did he notice the eyes that pierced through his black blindfolds.

the first time he was formally introduced to them, was that one time where nobara was introduced to megumi and yuuji. he didn’t notice it as first but he realized you were the person walking pass his classroom all the time.

time for the friendship headcanons!

at first, gojo’s first impression of you, was how calm and collected your composure was with some joking antics here and there. you were mostly there just in case gojo wasn’t able to be there with them.

in general, gojo thought you were trying to compete with him because of how you came close to strongest sorcerer (selfish).

i don’t have a grasp understanding of how you two became friends, actually… i don’t think you would necessarily be friends, more like people who trust eachother, have eachothers back and holding respect for each but at the same time, you two don’t trust eachother.

it’s a weird friendship, though, sometimes you two got along, talking and joking around. the next thing you know, you two are ignoring eachother like you never even knew the other.

the concept of friends didn’t scream anything to you, friends didn’t come close to you with how you picture him. in shorter terms, you saw most people like pawns, a means to your plans. gojo was just there.

most of the times, he annoyed you a lot, you could see the way nanami didn’t want to step an inch to gojo (considering how he’s younger than gojo, yet looks older then him. how odd?).

despite everything you two go through as teachers and partners, there are no growth in your “friendship”, as both of your students call it. it’s not what you’re expecting but from the beginning, gojo has had an off feeling about you.

the first time gojo witnessed your technique, was during the shibuya arc; where he massacred a bunch of transfigured humans. you were there helping him, after all, what type of person would you be?

as i said, even though you’re not necessarily friends, you two still have eachothers back.

development!

when time passes, there was a feeling in your stomach whenever you would hang around with gojo, that shoko would explain to you as ‘fondness’.

he was starting to look more like a friend than just a pawn, a nauseous (that didn’t change actually). though, he doesn’t automatically get a pass because the two of you started to call eachother actually friends.

the trio saw the way you two were always with eachother, technically glued to eachothers side and always being there for the other.

gojo, still ever being hungover his ex, saw just a glimpse of him in you, that was partially the reason why he grew closer to you but at the same time, he grew worried that something might happen to you.

without a doubt, even though he’s a complete cocky, egotistical, idiot of a man, his one weakness is his big heart. that’s the first thing you noticed about him. it wasn’t his looks, his energy, or how he was the strongest, it was his big heart that he so desperately tried to hide away.

there’s development to both parties.

you, started to think of him like an actual friend, someone you cared about, and no doubt about it, someone you would sulk over if he ever disappeared.

gojo, who— praying to the lord— for once, will try to get over his ex when he’s with you, there’s something about you that makes everything that’s happening disappear, he needs comfort, you provide that to him.

relationship!

oh boy. why would you ever date him?

how did you even start dating him?

yet again, i don’t have a grasp understanding on how the dating started but i could give a brief explanation of how the feelings developed from there on.

the fondness you get from being around him developed into something where, if he ever got hurt or someone said something to him, you would go ballistic.

he’s someone you genuinely started to cherish and for someone to say or do anything to him would send you to a toxic state. it’ll have him a lot of time to convince you not to harm this person or curse.

eventually, the feelings than letter on developed into, again, what shoko would explain to you, as love. you had rejected the idea of love for ages because you thought you weren’t able to ever feel it. gojo proved that wrong.

gojo’s a nauseous to be around, but knowing him for quite some time made him into a pleasing nauseous. gojo started to pick up that your starting to enjoy bringing around him that he started to tease you about it.

you wouldn’t lie and say the teasing was annoying, it was but it wasn’t the same annoying as before.

when gojo started to fall for you, he quickly tried to bury it before it got out of hand. remember that breakup scene at the kfc? yeah… he doesn’t want that again. let alone fall in love again.

he already lost geto, he can’t lose you. everything he’s ever loved and didn’t want to lose, is lost the moment he gains it.

though, he’d drop signs, massive signs or just small signs, they’re there. even though of what i just said, he’s whipped for you. so down horrendous, my lord.

when you two do get in a relationship, gojo’s touch starved and it shows. he needs to have some sort of contact with you or he’ll sulk in a corner. for a matter of fact, if he doesn’t get atleast 5 kisses each day, he’ll ignore you out of spite until you do kiss him. that’s when he gives you a kiss attack.

i won’t go deep into the intimate details, you can dream about those yourself but i will say, he’s fucking crazy in there (and so are you!)

you’re absolutely spoiled by him, he loves you so why not just give you everything. regardless of that, he knows both of you don’t have enough time, so he tries to make it count by making you happy.

he loves the sparkle in your eye when he surprises you with gifts you adore.

the same goes for you, knowing he’s touch starved, you try and shower him in affection as much as you can before the two of you depart on missions that don’t involve you two partnering up.

knowingly enough, pda is a must in the relationship. though, gojo will stop if you don’t like it, he’s a dick but he’s a good dick (no pun intended).

even though, there’s not enough time and both of your lives are on the line since you’re jujutsu sorcerers, you’re both grateful you had enough time to confess.

oh, and gojo swoons over you, annoying megumi when you’re not there.

( aka me chance HCs I've had piling up for the past month or so)

Ok so uh.

We know how (at least in Chance's Scrapped lore) their parents were helicopter parents. A hc of mine is that, since they wanted them (chance) to be an overachiever and stuff, so they signed him up for a bunch of random things to learn as a kid, so they can just. Play a bunch of random instruments and stuff. The only one they actually enjoyed was piano (which is a canon thing that he likes playing it so yippee)

I've already said this before w one of the first HCs I sent in here, but I hc chance as boyflux and that, basically each new day is a gamble on their gender, but also they're trans Masc too bc. I said so :3 (aka projection)

With the ever popular hc that chance was in the Mafia w Mafioso + gang, I like to think that he and Mafioso had a somewhat father - kid eque relationship? Or at least, Chance looked to the gang as a sort of found family and Mafioso as like a father figure

Chance is. About 24 in my hcs? At least when they got forsaken. Since from what I read w the scrapped lore (my beloved I love the scrapped lore) it said that they got their parents' casino when he turned the legal age, which to legally gamble (at least in the US I think) is 21, and it said that they'd had the casino for 3 years sooo

I like think that in the before time they got the casino (18-20) was when their time w the Mafia was

Oh yeah Chance and Mafioso's dynamic to me is like that one spiderman meme from into the spidervwrse. The one w Peter B parker + miles

I hc that they wear their headphones from having sensory issues (shit being too loud for them which is real) and that sometimes they blast music in them for comfort (more projection lmao)

Speaking of which they were a theater kidsort of. Like. Never actually did any acting or participated in musicals or anything in school but they really enjoyed the music from them when they saw them. Their favorite musical is whatever the Roblox equivalent of ride the Cyclone is

Oh yeah I like to think that they're pretty friendly with pretty much everyone in the cabin, minus Shedletsky and Builderman. Idk why I just get the vibe that those two would just get really annoyed by Chance and dislike them

Theyre probably the closest with Taph, Guest and Elliot (mainly bc the friends that I typically play w main as them :3) and call call Taph Toffee bc it's silly (tpah really likes the nickname tho)

And finally a bit more of an angsty one you could say, one time during a round he was blasting music (don't ask me how idk) in their headphones and the killer was John Doe, the headphones malfunctioned and the song that was playing, the ballad of Jane Doe from rtc, started playing from outside of the headphones, and John heard it, making him pause from a sort of. Grief from it sincr it reminded him of Jane.

Zhongli plays Animal Crossing - some headcanons.

★彡modern au of course, Zhongli is silly

Lending Zhongli your Animal Crossing copy was honestly one of the best decisions ever made, honestly:

“So, am I to help these animals cross the road?"

"You don't, my love."

"Then why is it titled 'Animal Crossing?'"

He's pleasantly surprised when he finds out he needs to build an island paradise for a bunch of furry friends, as he calls them. He already has a few ideas in mind, he says.

He names his island "Liyuef"... he meant to put Liyue but didn't know how to backspace.

Zhongli...dear, sweet Zhongli treats all of his villagers like real people. When he accidentally bonks one on the head with his net, he gets SO sad. "Oh, please pardon me, Sprinkle...I did not mean to...oh! I did it again. It was not my intention, I assure you, miss Sprinkle. Please do not be angry..."

He also gets sad when a villager asks to move out, but he accepts it with grace. "Who am I to deny their wishes?" he'd say, as he lets his beloved Wolfgang go.

"Zhongli, they're literally fictional..."

Gulliver is an interesting character to him. "This bird washed up on my island...he'd been drinking, no doubt. He reminds me of a certain bard." And when Gulliver gifts him something after he locates all his phone parts, Zhongli says "Ah, thank you Barbatos...I mean Gulliver."

And when Redd visits, he doesn't even need an online art guide...he knows real from fake because he's just that knowledgeable about art. That sly fox's got nothing on this old man.

Zhongli also eagerly listens to everything Blathers has to say, fascinated by all the wildlife that can be caught around the island. Sometimes at dinner he'd relay these facts to you. "Darling, today the owl friend told me that sturgeons can.."

Zhongli’s used to having other people pay for his stuff. So when he finds out he needs to pay off his loans, bridges and stairs by himself, he’s a little put off, but works hard to accumulate enough bells to pay everything off himself.

Speaking of bells…man has NO fiscal responsibility at. All. He buys out the shop and boutique on a regular basis even if he has no need for what they’re selling, simply because “Ah, but the little raccoon children have worked hard to procure these items for me, so it is only fair that I thank them, yes?”

TERRAFORMING is his absolute favourite thing to do! He likes to make random chunks of land all over Liyuef because they remind him of how he can harness Geo energy :)

And honestly, he has such an eye for design and detail. Liyuef is soon well-adorned with beautiful pathways, tastefully-placed monuments and flowers, and an artfully arranged neighbourhood, almost reminiscent of the real-life Liyue it was meant to mimic. “Darling, miss Isabelle has given my land a rating of five stars!”

Soon, Liyuef becomes a thriving paradise, and he's happy :) he thanks you for showing him the crossing of the animals <3

Headcanon: Just because they are dating it doesn't mean they are less awkward

I was answering a comment I got, when I started thinking about what would happen if Miles and Gwen started dating?

My first thought: "Oh the adaptation period is going to be fun."

Both in fiction and in real life, you can have a period of time when friends who had been crushing for too long may be trying to not come too strong to the other person in case their new partner hasn't fallen as deeply in love as themselves.

Do I think this would happen with Miles and Gwen? Oh for sure.

Gwen in general tries to hide her emotions and while I think being with Miles will loosen her up a bit, I think she may get shy about how much she likes him (specially considering some things she did while crushing.) Miles I think would do so as well, since it has been his normal to try to tone down his crush, and seeing how "collected" Gwen can be, would try to act "cool."

All of this rambling is now for a list of headcanons of the stupid things they did because of this and that they try to hide from each other before they realize how silly they are.

Let's go!

They both do a victory lap, or the spidey equivalent, swinging across their respective New York after Miles asked Gwen out.

Miles is the loudest, swinging across the streets while screaming in excitement a few times, including one time when he screams "SHE LIKES MEEEEEE."

This ends up with a bunch of people online not only reposting clips of the video where he screams that, but people speculating who could be the mystery girl who seems to like him. Miles panics thinking Gwen may think he is cheating on her and Ganke needs to be there to calm him down and devise a plan to get gossip people into something else.

Gwen isn't much better, she doesn't really scream anything, however she ends up doing a bunch of daredevil tricks and jumps because her excitement manifests in see-how-many-gymnastics-record-I-can-break.

She ends up scaring the living shit out of her dad, who was trying to react very normally when a coworker show him a clip of just a part of it (she literally did this by a good part of the city, so there are different videos.) The gymnastic Olympic team of the United States is once again trying to recruit Spider-Woman. There are now people making recompilations of videos to see if there is a way to catch the whole thing, and some people had noticed that in some clips it almost looks like she is squealing.

Gwen recruited Peni's help to take down the most incriminating videos, mostly because it was impossible to take all of them down. She also begged Peni to have a way for her dad to not find some videos on his phone. I imagine her dad may be a bit protective of her and while Gwen told him she is dating Miles, she doesn't want her dad to realize how madly she is in love with him.

(He knows, he remembers the Polaroid.)

Because of this, the first few days together they try end up planning dates in other universes, because both of them are waiting for those videos to not be trending. Gwen ends up dancing with Miles in Hobie's universe, while Miles shows Gwen a crazy arcade in Margo's universe.

Miles is ALWAYS smiling, depending on how much he has been in his mind he may look more lovesick or casual. Everyone has been teasing him, Ganke, his parents and Peter B the most.

I already headcanon that Gwen is actually a cuddle bug, she just has trouble leaning into others because of her vulnerability issues. So Gwen is constantly trying to measure how much she tries to hug him, to not look too eager to take his hand or lean on his shoulder. Is a tougher battle than she ever wants to admit.

Miles ends up drawing Gwen even more often, especially since he has pictures of her and stuff; so before he knows it, he ends up with this beautiful mural of her. He isn't sure when to reveal it to her because he has added so many little detail and drawings he is afraid to come out as creepy.

Like many people, I headcanon Gwen has tried writing songs about Miles. Well the new relationship status made her finish one of those songs, which her bandmates liking, and Hobie also insisted she should play it next time in his universe.

"Next Time" ends up having the spideygang (Miles, Pavitr, Margo and Peni,) at the concert. Hobie remarks that the next song is written by his drummer, and it doesn't take long for Miles to be smiling once more like a lovesick puppy once the lyrics appear.

Gwen is a bit embarrassed, but he says he loved the song, and he would love to hear more if she ever does. He shares some of his art, and she is, of course, melting.

He doesn't take too long before showing Gwen the mural, and Gwen loves it. Is hidden below a bridge, in a place you can only see while being upside down; and she adores how Miles shown her drumming, her dance, he captures her from her eyes to the little tooth gap she has, and yet Gwen cannot stop being amazed at how despite showing all those things she considers flaws, she looks beautiful in all of them.

Miles shrugs saying "I just draw you like I see you."

And THEN, they become a couple of dorks in love who everyone else is getting kind of sick of how corny they are. But they are kind of stupid for each other and had been holding it for a while, so why not scream it from the rooftops?

Silly Atem headcanons

He’s always loved wearing dark clothing. He didn’t get to in Egypt because wearing black in Egypt? Not the best idea.

The first upside he discovers when he gets his own body: piercings & tattoos.

He and Yugi have a duel to decide who gets the top bunk bed.

He likes seeing depictions of Ancient Egypt in media. Of course he points out a LOT of the inaccuracies, but he enjoys the stuff. He laughs at old mummy horror flicks and thinks the pyramids in Sonic the Hedgehog are fun. He also really likes Raiders of the Lost Ark (he doesn't know if there was a real Staff of Ra, but he really wishes he had one) and LOVES The Prince of Egypt (he tears up every time he rewatches it).

But he's not the least bit amused by the conspiracy theories about aliens and Ancient Egypt. It's one of his worst triggers. The first time he heard about it was when Jonouchi showed him Ancient Aliens for fun. At first, he thought it was funny. Until he found out some people actually believed in it. Let's just say don't ever bring it up, unless you want to send Atem into a two hour long rant.

Museums are an interesting experience. To give you an idea of what he would be like visiting a museum featuring Egyptian artifacts:

He’s a Disney princess. He loves animals and is friends with them. He will stop and admire a beetle or a lizard he comes across, he feeds the birds at the park, and he's basically the King of Games AND Cats. And he's the same with animals that most people wouldn't consider 'pet friendly'. He will gladly give a lion scritches on the head and snuggle a python.

However, he doesn't love all of them. If there's one thing Atem's really afraid of, like have an actual phobia of, it's crocodiles (and gators by extension). He's from Ancient Egypt, after all. He would be kinda like FX'S Archer:

Atem can easily hold his own in a fight, even kill a man himself. Being a prince of Egypt, he was trained in combat and warfare, from hand-to-hand to sword fighting. Even when he’s lost his memories, he still can fight from muscle memory (“Where did you learn how to do that!?” “I don’t know!”).

HATES the cold. He bundles himself up as much as possible during the winter and prefers to stay inside under a heated blanket or near a space heater with a cup of cocoa.

His first time visiting a Christian church is...interesting, to say the least. He likes how it reminds him of the Ancient Egyptian religion because of the hymns, incense, wine and bread, and processions. It does get awkward: like when the plagues of Egypt come up, or every time Atem asks questions about ANYTHING, or when he learns about Jesus Christ ("He sacrificed himself and was resurrected to save humanity." "Hey, me too.")

The photo album on his phone is a lot like a middle aged dad’s. It’s mostly cats, scenery, or Yugi and the gang, and a bunch of them are out of focus or aimed wrong. He almost never takes selfies and he looks surprised or confused in a lot of the ones Yugi takes with him.

He likes watching old movies or listening to records from Grandpa Muto’s collections. This is how he becomes a Rolling Stones fan. Yugi and Anzu are also able to find modern music he would be into, like Seal and David Bowie. He also likes listening to Taylor Swift with Anzu. Jonouchi introduces him to Nickelback as a joke, but Atem ends up liking them.

I'm not a native english speaker myself, but from what I'm seeing here you're doing great :)

To answer you, the whole CMK story after the time skip including them breaking up because of Zap death after Shanks attack, Nina slut era on Elbaf and being somehow saved by the strawhats came naturally, with both Nina and Kid personality and the codependency I headcanon KidKilker to have, it was only a matter of time before things go south, and Shanks offered the perfect breaking point. The global whole story has been written since the moment I really got emotionally attached in Nina - between her two pregnancies or so. Of course things changed a bit over time, for exemple at the beginning of Nina's story I hadn't met Wyv yet so Shriek wasn't her official-tm daughter and I had to rework a bit my story around where our canons crossed, and sometimes fun things happen between me and my readers that make me change the story a bit (for exemple Nina having a fanclub in beast pirates when y'all started defending her rights and wrongs)

Loki wasn't planned in the original story and the whole NinaLoki thing started as a joke with my discord besties. God I wish I could find the exact moment where it became an idea but when the famous panel of Loki all chained up was released I think I said something like "wah, Nina would top him" or something like that, because ahaha she's tiny for a human, he's tall for a giant, he's canonically a yandere simp, that's funny you see? I wasn't even a Loki simp at first!

And then the most we learned about Loki the more LokiNina just... Made sense. So I reworked the storyline to include what was initially a silly joke in. (Shoutout to @nethhiri who was high key involved in this ship before anybody else)

The whole complete ChainsawMetalKiller storyline, including how things will end, has been planned since Loki first appearances - with some changes here and there. And I think you can say the second half of Elbaf, the one that will not be canon compliant and really an AU, is gonna be a collaboration with @wyvernslovecake because we kinda wrote it together? We yap about our shared canon every day and slowly but surely the story wrote itself.

Even if like me you don't like working with people, having a small group of close friends you yap daily with and with who you're being deeply involved in each other stories is an INCREDIBLE creativity boost. Shoutout to @nethhiri @wyvernslovecake @a-killer-obsession who became incredibly important and precious in my life in such a short amount of time, I love you guys ❤️

And last but not least: I'm a professional! Today I'm 28, which means I've been writing comic books every day without stopping for the half of my life - my first real big graphic novel is 10 years old now. I don't say it to flex, just to say I have a lot of practice, storytelling in any form always has been my passion, so it comes up naturally.

⋆ Starting off with age ranges! Akito I see regressing from 4-6, he’s a big kid and he wants to do stuff! I haven’t written any regression content for Kaito before, but I’m thinking 2-5! He has potential to be tiny but he’s mostly in the toddler age range! This of course makes Akito the big brother most of the time! Which he is absolutely overjoyed about. He hates being the little brother in real life, with Kaito he’d the older one! Honestly if it weren’t for the big brother title he’d refuse to refer to Kaito as his brother

.ᐟ.ᐟ Akito likes keeping up his tough guy act. He doesn’t need friends! He doesn’t need relationships! And Kaito is just so openly clingy… Akito never truly gets mad or upset of course, but he definitely gets annoyed and exasperated. He’ll complain all the time that he’s too hot, Kaito just tugs on his hoodie to urge him to take it off. He’ll completing that he wants to move around, Kaito giggles and asks for uppies. He tries complaining that he’s hungry or thirsty, Kaito just eagerly exclaims “Me too!”

⋆ Some of their most peaceful times together is during snack times! Kaito loves his ice cream, and Akito loves his pancakes! Kaito is willing to share but Akito is not, and that’s ok! Kaito doesn’t get upset. Kaito will research what ice creams go best with pancakes and he’ll ask Meiko to get those flavors! It’s usually just vanilla, but I feel like maple ice cream could be good too! Akito acts annoyed but when he tries the ice cream pancakes combination he can’t help but babble softly about how good it actually is

.ᐟ.ᐟ Kaito is very much so monkey see monkey do. Akito has his pacifier? Kaito wants one! Akito’s getting a hug? Kaito’s barreling into them! And yes, the most chaotic part of this, my headcanon that little Akito screams to express any and all emotions? Yup that’s right. Monkey see monkey do. Kaito honestly uses it like a honing beacon, making a beeline to stand next to Akito and start screaming along with him! Honestly sometimes Kaito will even start harmonizing with him which annoys Akito so bad because he interprets it as Kaito dismissing the emotions he’s trying to express and it usually ends in him feeling self conscious and yucky

⋆ Akito struggles to let himself truly relax and let his guard down in general, this is only enhanced by Kaito’s presence though. He needs to keep up the cool older brother act! But Kaito’s not going to judge. He just sits next to Akito and pats him on the head. The headpats are incredibly clumsy and Akito gets hit in the face (gently) more than once, but it’s alright! Kaito is very gentle and patient, and Akito honestly loves the attention, touch starved little baby… He just grumbles his little complaints and Kaito tries to do better!

.ᐟ.ᐟ Akito is incredibly competitive, and he loves playing games! Soccer specifically because I will never shut up about little Akito playing soccer. He always complains about Kaito being on his team, saying that the younger regressor will make him lose. Obviously any and all caregivers make sure the littles team wins, Akito still complains each time though. And obviously Kaito wants to be on his big brothers team! Though sometimes they are on opposite teams to please Akito and then they have to rotate which team wins, and Akito is definitely a sore loser, full on sobbing and tantrum. He’s supposed to win! (˶˃⤙˂˶)

⋆ Kaito gets into trouble a bunch. Not on purpose! He’d just trying to have some yummy snacks! Those snacks just happen to belong to someone else… And while Akito pretends to not like Kaito he will stick up for him! Not to the extent of taking the blame, he makes it very clear that yeah Kaito did that, but he’ll huff and mutter about how “Was jus’ hung’y…” Kaito of course treats Akito like he just saved his life, constantly praising his big brother and thanking him for the help! Akito acts annoyed but he does enjoy the praise so he doesn’t try too hard to get Akito to stop

What do you think about Horikoshi ending the manga without a canon couple? Do you ship or used to ship MHA characters? Did you see romantic potential? Do you think Horikoshi might confirm a couple later?

No canon couple?  Au contraire, my dear anon!  The manga ended with the most important canonization of all!

As to the ships people actually care about or were expecting some word on (e.g. the stuff with the students), my reaction there is overwhelmingly “lol gj hori”.  I’m glad he ended it with no canon student couple to speak of!  While I do sympathize with the position of certain people on Twitter who contend that Ochaco’s arc about repression really needed her to actually confess to Deku, I hated what her crush on Deku did to her arc anyway, so I don’t have it in me to be too annoyed.  Anyway, I don’t think it’s possible to do the Iron Might 2.0 part of the epilogue if Deku and Ochaco[1] have been dating the entire time, so I’m perfectly happy to run with the headcanon that she did confess at one point and it didn’t work out for whatever reason, so by the time the last chapter rolls around, they’ve just been friends for years.

1: Or Bakugou, for that matter, but with all due respect to the BakuDekus who haven’t been seeing Shonen Jump battle manga come and go for twenty years with nary a confirmed gay MC amongst them, that was never in the cards.

I remember posting once ages ago about a Japanese fan’s hope that Horikoshi, who the fan perceived as being at least somewhat progressive about women, could manage to end the series without a bunch of timeskip romances showing up at the last minute.  While I have some deep reservations about Hori’s progressive cred at this point in time, and am not tremendously impressed with his writing of women, either, credit where credit is due: he did end the series without any timeskip romances.

As to there being any confirmation of couples in the material we have remaining, I imagine the last train station[2] for that is going to be the final volume release in December, as, on top of the usual volume extras, Horikoshi should be considerably more free to include expansions that his schedule and exhaustion kept him from in the weekly publication.  I could even see a bonus chapter of some sort, maybe something post-epilogue so we can see the power suit in action or something silly and fourth wall-breaking to celebrate the series conclusion.  There’s also going to be one last fanbook released in January, which I have been assuming will be a data book like Ultra Archive.

Now, do I think any of that stuff will confirm ships?  Eh, that’s not really in my analytical wheelhouse.  The farthest I’d venture to guess is that I would a) not be surprised to get some clarification on Deku and Ochaco, and b) definitely peg the volume release to have material like that over squirreling it away in the fanbook.

For myself, my shipping habits are somewhat erratic—it’s not really where my primary engagement in media lies, and certainly not for this series!  But that’s not to say I don’t have ships, or that I’m not happy to talk about them, so if you’re curious about that, do feel free to hit the jump.  I’ll order them by general sphere first, then by how passionate I am about them compared to ones I just think are kinda cute or funny for whatever reason.

DISCLAIMER: While I have not explicitly stated as much here before, I am a 40-year-old asexual proshipper, proshipper here meaning I'm in favor of curating your own fandom space and not harassing people about their fictional ships under any circumstances.  When I say I ship something, that does not mean I’m idealizing the relationship, want it to be canon, think it would be cool in real life, or am mentally putting myself in the place of one the characters.  It’s solely because there’s something in the dynamic I think is fun or interesting, and “interesting” can very much include the same kind of interest one might have in watching a building get demolished.

Villain-o-rama-rama:

Spinarakiya, ShigaRD, Spinaraki: Alas for my short-lived OT3!  I was really, really pumped for this in the stretch between MVA and the early stages of the first war, what with there being such interesting possible angles between all three parties, only for Re-Destro to get arrested and never seen in person again, Spinner to get snatched up by Gigantomachia and never look back, and Shigaraki to get lost to the possession plot for, at least as far as scenes with his allies were concerned, basically the rest of the series.

Not exactly great material for my shipping heart, though I’ll refrain from the rant comparing how long the PLF members were living in close contact with each other compared to the League of Villains and why that should have meant they developed stronger relationships than what we got.

But canon being what it is, I do still ship the hell out of these three in a canon divergence situation, or any number of potential AUs.  I love the connective tissue there, with Re-Destro + Shigaraki having some startlingly strong background parallels and lasting injuries courtesy of each other, Shigaraki + Spinner having the gaming and the emptiness themes, and Spinner + Re-Destro having their Big Gay Feelings About Shigaraki as well as an appreciation for patterned fabrics some shared early frustrations about Shigaraki’s seeming lack of plans or direction.

It's a good dynamic, and I think they could all do a lot for each other, though certainly not in ways that are good for the continued survival of Hero Society.  But fuck Hero Society anyway.

As to the component parts, I don’t ship Re-Destro and Spinner without Shigaraki being at least an invisible part of the dynamic (though I would read the fic where he wasn’t with considerable interest!), but I’m also very much on board with ShigRD and Spinaraki individually.  My constant refrain about Shigaraki and RD is that they have a lot of common ground but very little common language, and I’m fascinated by how much of that they could recognize in each other and how much of it they could then recognize back in themselves, versus how much you’d get one of those cases of, “This guy is a freak and I’m so normal.”

It's so, so, so important to me that Re-Destro is the first ally Shigaraki won entirely on his own merits.  He's got no borrowed reputation from Stain, no monsters on loan from Sensei, and no help from people on Sensei’s payroll, yet still, as a result of his efforts (both in his own fights and in making the League his own, even if it didn’t start that way) he wins himself an army and a follower who never saw a light that wasn’t his.

I weep for the Shigaraki/Re-Destro relationship we could have had if Horikoshi didn’t decide that Shigaraki in the endgame was to be nothing but a pawn, and therefore couldn’t be allowed to keep any of his markers of independence and growth.

As to Spinaraki, man, what is there even to say?  The relationship so clear and obvious that it had even the mhatwt bros out there saying, “Spinaraki but at what cost?” in the last chapter!  I will admit that I liked them better when their romance had that apocalyptic tinge than when it suddenly started getting painted as primarily about them being Gamer Bros, but at least that melancholic “beauty at the end of the world” shading came back when Shigaraki talked about destroying Mount Fuji for Spinner (be still my heart!).    

They will meet and be close in every world and I will hear nothing else.

RiKoku: I don’t think I truly understood the appeal of ex-lover ships until these two.  They snuck up on me in a big way, pretty much entirely a result of my realization when I was halfway through the (first and only, sadly) MLA Week event that Trumpet was pretty free-roaming and independent from Re-Destro all the way through Deika only to be glued to his side from there on out.  Together with the Spinner parallels (the subordinates who fought each other and then came together to the crater to see their worlds remade) and my jokes about wanting to see the MLA heads during their stressed-out, over-achiever college years, all the pieces fell into place for a Rikiya and Koku who had dated for a few years and then broken up when Rikiya realized that his authority as Re-Destro—and Koku’s strong subordination to that authority—meant that he could not responsibly stay in the relationship.  (This also presents several good explanations for why a man in Rikiya’s situation isn’t married with at least one child already.)

Anyway, to me, they never really fell out of love with each other; Re-Destro just couldn’t justify overlooking the power dynamic problems once he realized how extreme they were.  (This does make for a fun alternate angle on RD’s personal life post-Deika, wherein Trumpet watches RD pass the mantle of leadership to Shigaraki Tomura and then more or less immediately pounces on him because now he doesn’t have the power dynamic excuse anymore.  Look up the great Whatever Is Spared by @leftofrevolution on AO3 for more on this.)

Overhonest: I just like Nemoto much more than I like Chrono, and thus my Overhaul ship of choice follows suit.  I like the idea that their feelings are wildly unbalanced but not totally one-sided—Overhaul has more baggage than a freshly loaded airport carousel, but he does like the Shie Hassaikai, as proven by them being mentioned in the Likes section of his character page. Nemoto in particular is someone whose presence we know Overhaul finds reassuring and we know it because he told Nemoto so directly when Nemoto asked, which means it can’t be anything other than the plain truth.  He relies on Nemoto enough to make demands of him, he expects (and gets!) effectiveness, and he even bothers to take the time to justify out loud why it would be okay for him to merge himself with Nemoto physically (because Nemoto would say yes if asked, right? of course he would) rather than just doing it with no thought to Nemoto’s feelings about it because why should he care about that.

And Nemoto, for his part, is of course an obsessive weirdo who’s totally smitten with the first person he’s ever found who legitimately wants him around, so smitten that he’ll happily overlook the fact that Overhaul primarily wants him around because he’s useful.

Moving away from what’s on-the-page canon, I enjoy (and write) the take that Overhaul is sex-repulsed, not because he’s fully asexual, but as an extension of his mysophobia.  This makes his sex life extremely fraught, but not non-existent.  When I dabble with writing them (and they’re by far the ship I’ve written the most explicit material for in this fandom), I write him as basically a sex-repulsed demi (not that he would know or use that terminology!) who is attracted to Nemoto but has been largely left aggravated and sexually frustrated by their periodic experiments in non-traditional ways of getting him off.  (Nemoto, for his part, is more than willing to keep trying!  No kink is too weird for this guy if it means finding something Overhaul would actually like.)

(To get real here for a second, if Spinarakiya is meaningful to me as a person who’s comfortably poly, Overhonest is meaningful to me as an asexual person who's only ever had allosexual partners.)

AFOUji: Truly the Evil Husbands of all time.  I wish the shift from Final Boss Shigaraki to Final Boss AFO hadn’t left Ujiko with a few truly inexplicable characterization beats,[3] because I truly do love these two as just the worst pair of mutually enabling monsters making the world worse and more dangerous for everyone while being 100% supportive of each other’s passions the entire time.  Here’s to 70 years of Dark Lord/Mad Scientist domestic bliss.

3: For the record, I consider these to be his, “I've only been living for the boy's sake,” line in Chapter 269 and his clear reticence and dissastisfaction with Shigaraki getting the surgery in Chapter 240.

DabiSkep: Skeptic is the only man Dabi has ever thanked for his contributions.  Dabi goes out of his way to kidnap him.  I’m 90% convinced that they’d been working on the video together prior to the Villa raid.  The combination of Skeptic’s deep and abiding neuroticism with Dabi’s swings between lazy malice and manic pushiness is extremely funny.  What can I say; it’s just about the only Dabi ship that really clicks for me.  I enjoy leftof’s take that Skeptic had a goth phase he never completely exited and so Dabi appeals to his inner Hot Topic teen, which he is 100% aware of and 150% embarrassed by.

   

School Environs:

Mirio/Tamaki: Tamaki literally regains consciousness at the exact moment Mirio loses his quirk.  Other than cases where there’s some actual explanation for that—a magical connection, psychic powers, etc.—I have never seen that kind of beat happen outside of a shoujo manga.  The bit where one romantic lead just mysteriously has a Bad Feeling in the same instant that something Bad happens to their love interest is so shoujo-coded.  Jesus Christ, Tamaki is so moe.  And Mirio so clearly thinks the world of him, too, as evinced by what an over-the-top sobriquet he dubbed Tamaki with.  They’re great, end of story.

Monoma/Shinsou: I’ll admit I liked this somewhat better when I thought there was any chance at all Shinsou might end up in Class B—I kind of loathe that he wound up in Class A for the self-evidently terrible reason that it’s The Main Character Class, when it seems so obviously a conflict of interest for Aizawa to be teaching him.  But eh, it’s okay; it just means Monoma will have to nobly learn to look past it after a lot of time spent being completely obnoxious about it.

My annoyance with Shinsou’s class placement aside, Monoma is one of my favorite students, and I like that he immediately latches onto Shinsou as a kindred spirit.  And, like, if that were 100% one-directional, I would probably shrug it off, but Shinsou, despite trying to play at being aloof, does actually get invested enough that he gets pretty bothered by the idea of Monoma needing help, even in something as inconsequential as a class exercise.  It’s just a much, much more interesting dynamic than Shinsou has with Deku or especially Kaminari.

Also, as someone with a bit of a Thing for mind fuckery, the way Copy and Brainwash can play off each other is Good.

MomoJirou: The fanart is cute and I like Momo better than Kaminari.  And the culture clash thing is fun.

Shouto/Inasa: The fanart is cute and I like Inasa better than Deku or Bakugou.

   

Professional Sphere:

Hawksdeavor:The age gap adds flavor.  The fact that Endeavor is still married but deeply unhappily so makes it even spicier.  The difference in what they represent (or could potentially represent) to each other is the best part, with Hawks, for Endeavor, being someone who represents a totally clean page, while Endeavor, for Hawks, represents a lifelong adoration.  Finding each other’s reality in all of that would be an interesting relationship arc and could be extremely fulfilling and strengthening for both of them.

The spoiler is (or at least should have been, if I’d been writing the series) their divided feelings on Dabi.  Honestly, I really wanted to see them clash over the matter of Touya and how to deal with him, with Endeavor wanting to save him but not knowing how and Hawks just wanting him gone but not knowing how to get away with it.  A certain pair of facts is glaring to me: first, that Hawks was a chief architect of the second war’s battle plans, whereas we never saw Endeavor involved with them at all, and second, that, when the big day came, Endeavor was slated to fight All For One with Hawks at his side despite at least some guilty protests from Enji that he really ought to be facing Dabi.

It smacks strongly of Hawks making some profoundly selfish decisions under the guise of clear-headed strategy and I really wanted it to blow up in his face when Dabi found his way to their battlefield anyway.  Pushing Endeavor into a place where he had to choose between them and ultimately chose his son (say, by protecting him from an attack coming from Hawks) would have been validating for Touya, done a lot to lever Endeavor’s arc out of the reactiveness and passivity that drag it down so badly in the canon, and also handed Hawks a real consequence for how dismissively he treats the lives of Villains and how much he’s tried to avoid reckoning with both Endeavor’s abuse and Enji’s own attempts to do said reckoning!

In summary, Hawks and Endeavor could be very good for each other, and the incredible amount of baggage they’d have work through first would be key to either making that good ending feel earned or lead to them dramatically and deliciously imploding.  Either one works for me, and either one, even without the romantic angle, would have been more interesting than the pablum we got.

NightMight: Speaking of could-have-been-good relationships that dramatically imploded!  I love Sir Nighteye as the most visible cost of All Might’s lifestyle, the one he lost because he couldn’t step away from the path his ideals had set out, and how that ideal inevitably took him full circle so that he found himself standing, for Deku, in the same place Nighteye once stood for him.  And of course by then it was too late and Deku wouldn’t listen to him anymore than he himself listened to Nighteye back then.

But Nighteye didn’t give up on caring about him, even if he had no avenue left to express it but throwing himself into finding a successor All Might would accept, which led to Nighteye's own (wonderful) relationship with Mirio.

Just great, difficult, adult stuff about irreconcilable differences that never stopped them from caring about each other even as those differences forced them to their parting of ways.

Mount Lady/Kamui Woods: They’re cute and I like the idea that they both have trouble, for opposite reasons, with cameramen.  I like that he calls her just Lady when he thinks she’s in trouble.  And not to put too fine a point on it, but I like that they’re kinda the most explicit Pro Hero couple and yet she’s the more prominent and important character with the more visible arc, which is a nice contrast to most of the other hetero relationships in this benighted manga.

   

Other/Cross-faction:

Togachaco: The yuri ship that could.  My god, the canon divergence I want to give these two.  You know why I want Deku and Ochaco to not be together in the end?  Because I want Ochaco to realize that she did everything in her power to save her Villain while Deku—after all that talk on the cliff!—just killed his, and triggered Toga just before he left to do it, meaning Ochaco had a harder time with Toga than she might have otherwise.

But, I’m not here to talk about No. 2 Green; let’s talk instead about the canon divergence where Toga survives (shove that absurd death-via-blood-transfusion right into the incinerator) and then Ochaco has to come face to face with a system that does not want to let her be anywhere near as kind as she wants to be.  The canon divergence where Ochaco realizes that her forgiveness is immaterial to justice, where she watches the system she fought to defend gear up to try Toga as an adult because Japan needs a scapegoat for the destruction of the war and all of the people who are actually most responsible are already dead or dying.  Where Ochaco realizes that she has to do something drastic if she doesn’t want to live the rest of her life haunted by the knowledge that her compassion got a 17-year-old victim of emotional and psychiatric abuse executed by the state.  The one where she decides to take a fucking stand, and it forces the rest of her class to confront that need as well.

Kotarou and Nao: I’m not as big on it by the time we’re seeing them in the Tenko flashback, though I certainly wasn’t pulling for some mean-spirited, allegedly feel-good “Nao slaps Kotarou and the whole family walks out of him” thing like you see in fanfic sometimes.  No, what I really like with Kotarou and Nao is thinking about them when they’re both still young, in the stretch of years where they really think they'll be happy together.  That her being with him can make all his problems go away, that him being able to bury his past and be better than all the people who hurt him (and there were so many people who hurt him) will be enough, that love is the answer to everything. Sure, the cracks are there, but they’re thin, and they can be hidden beneath all the days when things are good, when the two of them hold each other and feel safe and loved and sure.

The cracks are still there, and love isn’t enough when love becomes a band-aid and a blind eye.  But the love is still there too, and it’s so fierce and so desperate, and it still won’t save them.

Sorry, everyone; they make me emotional.  They are beautiful in the way of sparks dancing above flames, or early flowers blooming right before a vicious cold snap.  Ah, me.

StainMight: GOD, All Might really needed to grapple more with Stain’s side of his legacy.  Like, StainMight is really a victim of the way the story looked like it was setting up to criticize All Might’s methodology as well-intended but not sustainable long-term, but then, like every other aspect of the series that was about systemic critique, that criticism just evaporated and Stain became an All Might cheerleader with nothing to say about the system All Might supported for thirty years.  Maddening!  But for real, All Might should have been badly hurt in that car attack and then rescued by Stain, both to give Deku some stress about how All Might could be in danger after they parted on bad terms, and also to really make All Might have to sit with this opinionated zealot all-too-prepared to talk about how no one else is really living up to his example.

And there should be UST the whole time.

Yoichi and Kudou: I am almost entirely negative towards the OFA Collective these days, especially Kudou’s role in the endgame, but I still have some fondness for what he and Yoichi could have been.  My god, the first One For All transfer really should have been because they kissed.  More beautiful, more tragic, more profound, and preserves the Yoichi that had some actual fucking agency in the life he lived instead of just constantly being AFO’s or Kudou’s trophy princess there to talk about how respectively terrible and awesome they are.

TogaTsuyu: I just think it would be interesting if Tsuyu were actually allowed to be more present in the Toga plotline, rather than only arriving as a spoiler to avert major shifts every time.  Toga says she likes Tsuyu, too, after all, and Tsuyu is so different from both Ochaco and Deku, so much more thoughtful and considered.  I dunno, I just wonder how things might have gone if, for example, it had been Tsuyu that Toga managed to draw away in the Jakku fight.  Given that side story with her snakey friend Habuko, evidence suggests that Tsuyu is a good deal more observant and intuitive than Ochaco, and I wonder if she might have been able to suss out what Toga was actually asking there better than Ochaco did, and how that might have changed things.

THE TUMBLR PROBLEMATIC ZONE:

Gentle Criminal and La Brava: I was willing to follow the canon’s initial vagary about these two, but I also like them quite a bit together, so if canon wants to put them in wedding rings at the end of the series, that’s fine by me!  Yes, I’m aware that there’s a pretty significant age gap there, which would have been at its most apparent when she first sought him out, but I don’t for one single instant believe that he’d be anything less than a total gentleman to her.  Indeed, it’d be entirely plausible to mount an argument based on his behavior that they were not at all romantically involved circa the Culture Festival arc,[4] and only become so after Gentle’s imprisonment and subsequent release.  But in general, what I’m more concerned with is the dynamic—I regard a power differential in a relationship as a reason for both parties to be cautious and mindful of that differential, but not as an immediate game-ender.

4: Most obvious is that when she says, “I love you,” he only says things like, “Thank you,” in return.

In that sense, Gentle and La Brava are great—they click together perfectly and obviously make each other tremendously happy after a lifetime of rejection.  La Brava, in Gentle’s theatrical attention-seeking, finds someone who accepts her overflowing way of showing love; Gentle, in living up to La Brava’s feelings, finds a reason for his skewed heroism beyond satisfying his pride.  To whatever extent their life together was heading anywhere bad (and there’s no evidence of this at all save that Heroes were always likely to catch up to them eventually, making La Brava’svery extreme response to Gentle’s defeat likewise inevitable), Deku’s intervention got them off of that path and back onto one that let them be accepted by the world, which they seem to have capitalized on marvelously.

They’re the only Villains I can think of whose turn to Team Hero in the endgame works for me without any significant quibbles.  Good for them!  I hope they are so, so happy together, because they deserve it.

AFO and Kotarou: MEANWHILE, IN MY OTHER KOTAROU SHIP.  I love AFO knowing Everything about what he’s doing here while Kotarou knows absolutely Nothing about what AFO is doing here.  I love an AFO who is self-amused in being friendly and reassuring and distractingly attractive to Kotarou, an AFO who knows that his toying with Kotarou would make Shimura Nana sick with terror and rage, and even if she isn’t alive to be so anymore, the fantasy of it is satisfying enough, especially since Kotarou is himself a very handsome young man, one whose hurt and resentment AFO finds beguiling to sometimes prod at, as if unable to leave a bruise alone except the bruise isn’t on his own skin.

I have an AU I’m never likely to write where Kotarou winds up successfully knocking out Tenko on the night of the accident before going on the run with him, only for them to get picked up by AFO a few weeks later, and let me tell you guys, that’s where all my guilty pleasure AFO/Kotarou really lives.

That said, I liked this one much better before we got the opening for it in canon, and not just because AFO’s disguise persona was doofy-looking instead of devastatingly handsome.  It was always one of those ships that tickled my inner hedonistic wickedness fancier but that I never wanted to be canon because my affection for the ship's vibe was not more important to me than the integrity of Shigaraki’s arc, and Shigaraki’s arc was far better served by his early childhood being as free from AFO as possible.  Alas, the reveal is very AFOtarou but at what cost.

Dabideavor: Sorry not sorry everyone, but all the people screaming about how this is SICK FILTH seem to have missed the point that it is indeed, absolutely and completely, sick filth and that’s part of the appeal.  Personally, I like it for two main reasons.

Firstly, I want Endeavor to have as hard a time as possible, and times don't get harder than this. I enjoy it when he's frozen and helpless in the face of the son whose life he destroyed because I have a long history of enjoying stoic male characters being made vulnerable through suffering.

Secondly, and more importantly, I like it because I like the version of Dabi you see in it, particularly compared to the Fanon Dabi who made so much League of Villains fan content un-fucking-readable for years.

I'm going to try to keep the hot fandom tea to a minimum here, limited to the upcoming footnote, but I hated Fanon Dabi.[5] He was an incoherent mash of a character designed to be a vehicle for the unabashed revenge fantasy of bloody murder against Bad Dads while also presenting no danger whatsoever of splash damage, a Woobie Big Brother who was completely harmless except to the father whose organs he was planning to paint the walls with. Every excuse that could be made, would be made, for Dabi's more questionable or even outright nasty moments, even if it meant minimizing or outright erasing the harm we saw Dabi do, right there on the page in literal manga monochrome.

5: There's a particular type of flanderization that goes into Fanon Dabi, the same kind of flanderization I saw attached to Steven Universe's Lapis Lazuli, and which informed the absolute umbrage certain people took with Rebecca Sugar for describing Spinel, the SU movie's villain, as toxic. There is a portion of fandom that loves abuse victims who get angry and lash out, but which will go absolutely ballistic at the slightest suggestion that abuse victims are themselves also capable of harm, that lashing out has the potential to hurt innocent people. In a perfectly executed DARVO, it becomes "victim blaming" to confront an abuse victim about the very real abuse they're inflicting on others. I only specified fictional characters here, but it's a dynamic you see in real life, too. Some people hunger for nothing so much as an acceptable target and abuse victims are not exempt from that statement.

The Dabi I thought was fun was the high-energy maniac who doesn't give a shit about anyone else getting caught in the crossfire of his revenge. Both that version of Dabi and the Endeavor who's paralyzed with guilt and despair are facilitated by Dabi’s father-obsession having a taboo sexual dimension to it that Dabi is all too ready to shove in the face of absolutely everyone who would think worse of Endeavor for it.  That means Endeavor himself, of course, but also all the good little civilians who Endeavor keeps telling to watch him.  Watch this, says Dabi, as he makes lewd hand gestures on force-streamed national television.

It's not about Dabi healing as an abuse victim, and it’s not about Dabi having a fulfilling arc—covering that stuff was canon's job!  It's about the fact that I, for reasons both personal and related to fandom spite, am personally entertained by Dabi being pedal-to-the-metal deranged about doing whatever it takes to seize Daddy’s attention and never let him look away again, which also means acting to ensure that no one is capable of or willing to save Endeavor from that fate. Like, if you want someone who would spend ten years plotting the most agonizing possible way to torment his abuser, then it’s sophistry to suddenly declare some agonizing torments off-limits.  Dabideavor is just committing to the bit.

Random Togami Headcanon 15

The birthday special! Basically, he hates birthdays. He finds them dumb and useless and can't comprehend why anyone would wanna have a birthday party in general or even with friends. Tch! Friends are beneath him anyway! He "unfortunately" has a bunch of classmates who wanna give him a birthday party though. Or at least some cake of some sorts. Not like the heir had traditional style birthday parties anyway. I personally see the type of birthdays he had as a kid before Hopes Peak in a few ways. 1. After becoming the heir, Byakuya's birthdays were like milestones of his growth as a heir instead of a typical birthday celebration. Basically, it was more contractual such as: "Now since you're 15, you now are tasked to do X now" or "Since you're now 16, it's time you do Y". And like, maybe he got a cupcake or something if his father was feeling generous that year. 2. He just didn't have birthday celebrations at all despite his father and family having the ample finances to give him one. Not that Byakuya had friends back then either. 3. Maybe his butler, Aloysius Pennyworth. stopped by and did something small and special for the heir in his youth. Maybe a gift like a new book or perhaps a baked treat or just his presence being more that day than in others. Like some quiet company of some sorts. Not quite sure what the butler would have had in mind to be honest, but hey! It's something! But, anyway, now since the heir's in Hopes Peak, he's now subjected to witnessing birthdays. Commoner birthdays. The ones he finds dumb. And, for about Junior year, he dodges the whole celebratory stuff since he refused to share his birthday to them all with a mix of the class not being close enough to agree to do something nice for him. After all, some of his classmates would be more begrudgingly agreeing to the terms than others. The heir's not exactly well liked anyway. However, the dodging is short-lived after he makes it to Senior year. Now, a good chunk of the classmates who would be the type decide to do something special now know of his birthday. And also the ones who would feel like helping out since they know he's gonna be annoyed and they just love seeing him just a WEE bit miserable from how he still treats them all despite being a little less mean now. Thus, baking montage! They all then pick who's gonna deliver the cake for him or like, who brings him along to the dining hall where the cake is. More of the later if anything since sending someone like Makoto to deliver a cake is just a guaranteed disaster. Then, boom. They offer him a damn cake and he's just like this.

And, his class basically baked it all as a unit and everything. Teamwork's the dream work! Yet, Byakuya still acts like he hates it though cus of course he still acts that way despite the good effort made by his peers. However, who are we kidding. Byakuya's lowkey a bit flattered by the way and secretly likes the free food he's gotten! He's also a bit surprised that they took the time to make it a coffee cake infused with his favorite, civet coffee. AND, wowie! The cake isn't half bad and he's not even that big of a cake person! Also, in regards to the actual celebration, it was oddly quaint. They all decided not to make any large, garish decorations or to put up balloons either. Byakuya hates balloons anyway. Also, not all of them stayed though they all showed up and wished him a good one. No birthday song as well though some of them might have suggested it to get on his nerves. Byakuya just gives MAJOR "I despise the happy birthday song with every fiber of my being" energy. However, no follow-through on singing the song at all despite the temptation since they're all are gonna be the bigger people here! No silly shenanigans. No tomfoolery. Just some of them for a brief moment in time, the heir, and a coffee cake. None of them had the cake either minus the prototypes that were made beforehand that were totally not excuses to have cake for themselves. And besides, the cake's too small to share anyway! Byakuya's a big boy anyway. He can handle it!

i decided to try and do ripper anyways! it was a fun challenge. i kept the interests very vague just so it’s more generalized :) i hope you like it!

Wayne

⁃ possibly one the most supportive guy you’ll never meet.

⁃ gives you his undivided attention when you talk about the things you enjoy. except for the occasional story about either a previous hockey game or something silly he did with raj which he always seems to be able to tie into about every conversation.

⁃ loves to buy you little knickknacks that remind him of you.

⁃ when you first met wayne, you briefly brought up a game you were obsessed with as a kid. after he told you that he’s never played the game, you thought nothing of the conversation and moved on with your life. a few weeks later, he approaches you to tell you everything he could remember from the game you raved about.

⁃ confused about what even prompted this in the first place, wayne quickly follows up by telling you he played the entirety of the game for you.

⁃ isn’t a ‘typical’ nerd but once anything, and i mean anything reminds him of hockey, he’s talking about it for the next 10 minutes at the very least. over time, he does this with your interests as well. the references don’t always make sense (they do in his head), you have to applaud him for being creative at the very least.

Ripper

⁃ has no idea how to form any kind of positive bond with someone other than his typical boy-friends. while he does avoid a ton of people on purpose, ripper has a hard time having genuine conversations with just about everyone.

⁃ he doesn’t really know how to communicate the fact that you two have something in common and he’d like to talk about it with you. everything just comes out bad. seriously. he sounds disingenuous and you can’t tell if he’s just telling a really bad joke.

⁃ after a ton of awkward encounters, ripper finally blurts it out. “I want to be your friend! I know it seems weird that I’d want to be around you but I really-“ ripper stops himself, realizing how aggressive he’s coming off.

⁃ before he can try and backtrack, you give him a simple ‘yes’ to avoid any more embarrassment for him.

⁃ you two have a lot in common! it’s a bit unexpected at first, but Ripper is a huge nerd! over time he gets more open about his interests, but it takes a while.

⁃ being a little.. socially unaware.. ripper genuinely believes he’s one of the coolest people ever. scared that his interests go against his oh-so-great reputation, he never tells anyone about things he genuinely enjoys. until he met you obviously!!

⁃ can be a bit of an inattentive listener at first. uncomfortable that you might ask what he likes, he’ll steer the conversations into completely different directions that had absolutely nothing to do with the original topic.

⁃ you know he tries nonetheless. when he’s genuinely comfortable with you, ohmygod ripper does not stop talking about the stuff he likes. you both connect over a ton of mutual interests which definitely helps a bunch.

⁃ loves to learn more about what makes you happy! he’s not a sweet talker by any means, but he definitely knows how to make you feel appreciated. similar to wayne, he’ll always buy you little knickknacks correlating to whatever you’re interested in at the time. he’s kind of the ultimate gift giver.

- Oh sports are his life support, it’s his saving grace HE LOVES SPORTS- mainly football and soccer (he used to play soccer in middle-high school) THIS MAN SCREAMS AT THE TV “GOOOAAAAAAAAAL” WHEN SOCCER’S ON (he’s just like my dad for real- :0)

- He definitely listens to old fashioned Italian music, his mother raised him in it HE WILL DIE WITH IT IN HIS BLOOD. But he also likes other types of music (he mains Depeche Mode-)

- He has the most dankest most messed up shat up car you can ever imagine that’s STILL GOING, he treats his car like his child though, he cleans it and is EXTREMELY careful with his baby (He listens to his songs in there and bobs his head when he has a song he likes, but he looks really serious, like he’s gonna kill someone- but he’s still enjoying himself)

- I should also mention that he SUCKS at driving, man has a drivers license yet he’s dog at it?! This is also why his car is so jacked up because he kept crashing it when he was younger- I think he’s cooled down now but he still can’t park right- This is also why he rather would take his pizza delivery motorcycle or Stick just drives him (since he’s funnily enough the only good driver-)

- His house is pretty small, and a bit tight but it’s okay once you get used to it, he tries to stay organized but at times he does tend to leave clothes on the floor. Of course his garage is the cleanest thing known to man, a bunch of flags (a big ass Italian flag-) and signs that say “Man’s garage” or “Man cave”. He also has another fridge full of beers and sodas.

- When Brick was gonna stay with them Peppino initially just wanted Brick away from him but he ended up like one of those Dads that have their pet on the couch watching TV. He also play fights with him too like: he’ll pretend to punch him or he wrestles with him for fun-

- He’s an asshole when he wants to be, one time he was eating with his friends at a McDonalds and they were getting breakfast, motherfucker ate half his friend’s hash-brown and put the half he didn’t eat outside the wrapper to make it look normal. (He did this when he was a teen but he can still be an ass like this-)

- He uses a lot of Italian hand gestures, he uses his hands A LOT he practically talks with them-

- He speaks very aggressively in Italian, the amount of times people thought he was angry and yelling at them even though he was just telling them to hand him a napkin. It’s hilarious, Gustavo is the only one to understand he’s not angry, he’s just talking- 😂

- This even applies to when he’s talking in English, HE STILL YELLS- Like his voice is a big BOOM, yeah he can calm it down but it’s still relatively loud, he’s only ever quiet when he NEEDS to be quiet-

Okay now for some Peppino and Gustavo together x] 💕💕💕

- Gustavo’s species has their own language but they can pick up on other languages pretty quickly, so when Peppino wanted to teach him Italian he started slowly and BAM 💥 not even a month passed and he’s speaking fluently! Peppino’s jaw dropped literally-

- Gus can speak his species language at times but only ever to himself.. He usually talks in English and Italian around Peppino (Gus when he’s angry talks really fast in his language, it’s best to just leave him be until he calms down…)

- They speak Italian to each other sometimes, they switch between English and Italian regularly, but they speak English mainly. They WILL however yell at each other in Italian, mostly so no one can understand their conversation if there is people around

- AND FINALLY- like I said with the Italian hand gestures, Peppino uses them A LOT, and he mainly uses them with the other Italians and Gustavo, BUT MAINLY Gustavo. He taught him every gesture in the book so Gus knows what he’s feeling just by hand gestures.

This is gonna be a long one, so buckle up! There’s gonna be several sections and some headcanons are from other people and I will not care if you ‘steal’ mine, in fact I will actively encourage you to do so

All of this will be about the cubitos, even if I didn't put q! before every name

Visual (Outsider perspective)

His eyes looks like they’re clouded in a way? very muted, almost grey, green

He has a bunch of scars running across his face and assumably the rest of his body that looks like lightning or cracks

Brown hair with blonde tips, but when he joined it was just blonde

He’s missing an arm from spinning the wheel and replaced is with a robotic one that he can change depending on what tool he needs

He looks like some sort of avian. Sometimes.

...and sometimes, he looks like some sort of dragon.

Sometimes he looks like a goat!

Species

Tubbo is a very specific type of shapeshifter! He takes on traits from the people he hangs around the most, or the people he trusts a lot. And the eggs recognise that which is why Chayanne calls him an egg - because they do it too!

Some traits include

— The blonde hair, he got it from Phil, the reason it’s mainly brown now is because of Coypiso (will explain more)

— Feathers that kinda look like wings, got them from Phil

— Fangs, he got them from the eggs

— Talons/claws, from both Phil and Pac

It’s mostly from Phil, because they knew each other before Tubbo was unfrozen, and also I think Tubbo would say his prosthetic is enough mimicking Pac and Fit

He can hide these features, and he does with the wings because they get in the wings. When he first joined the island, he shifted between the different traits he's picked up on over the years (goat/bugs/avian/dragon) and depending on who he was talking to he was a different one. All of them included talons, and later on fangs after meeting the eggs.

Tubbo and god.

Tubbo is friends with a lot of demigods and knows a Goddess, who happens to be the wife of Philza!

The lightning that strikes him down? I don't think that's the feds. I think the admins and federation should be seperated more because they are. The admins are the ones striking Tubbo with lightning and blinding him. The admins are a higher power. That also absolutely hates Tubbo's guts because he has befriended three demigods, possibly more, and knows the Angel of Death, and the actual Goddess of Death. And their son, Wilbur.

He gets possessed by people a lot!! He's such a vessel and constantly has people talking inside his head or taking over his body. Chat is actually voices inside his head.

Just silly extra stuff

This is kind of species thing but also.. not? Tubbo can hear machines in a way only really aypierre can? Even then it's very different, because pierre speaks to the machines. Tubbo doesn't. Tubbo just like.. gets them.

Tubbo straight up has a phone. Why? Who knows! How did he get it? Good question! Why on god's green earth is the federation letting him keep it? Because they don't even know he has one. Who does, you ask? Nobody! Except for Chayanne because he called Jack Manifold that one time. Tubbo only uses it to call his friends and text his parents. He doesn't even realize he could use it to get out of here, or that maybe he should tell people he has phone.

The reason for Tubbo's eyes looking cloudy is mostly visual design! His vision is so much worse because of the fact he gets blinded by the admins so much that it permanently affected his eyesight. His goggles help him see better, he added prescription to them so he could see.

First impression: He's a bunch of my favorite tropes condensed in a cool design i was doomed from the start XD

Impression now: He's one of those blorbos who lives rent free in my mind I love him so much. I think he's one of the smartest charactes in Kamen Rider tbh, not in anything specific like Sento or Philip but just as how quickly he connects dots and figures out things. They had to kill him otherwise the series would have ended too quickly XD /j But also he's just a silly guy tee hee ^w^

Favorite moment: every single time he's on screen <3 /hj But if I had to pick some specific, mmmh. Well, I have to go with Gorider bc I have a reputation to mantain, that scene when everyone is accusing Emu and he's the only one defending him is so good; the beach scene because of course we all know the beach scene; and the reveal in Tricks because ough my heart

Idea for a story: okay so. For me current Kiriya can either be OG Kiriya who is a cockroach who refuses to die, or a bugster copy of Kiriya from Chou Super Hero Taisen who deluded himself that he's the real Kiriya (I like playing around with both depending on the situation). But the second one has so much potential for angst ough. I need him and Game Hiro to talk and have Game Hiro make him confront his delusion (since they're both copies of ExAid riders but Hiro accepts that fact while Kiriya doesn't) (and by make him confront I just mean Game Hiro is being his usual brash self he absolutely did not sign up to give Kiriya therapy he's just here to check on his kid). And slightly related but would probably be in a separate continuity (unless I figure out how to connect the two), Kiriya having an identity crisis regarding this (is he the OG Kiriya or is he just a game copy?) and Emu reassuring him that he doesn't care, Kiriya is Kiriya. For the sake of everyone I'm gonna stop here but. I have many thoughts about Kiriya XD

Unpopular opinion: ...I'll be honest, I made myself such a nice bubble in this fandom that I've only seen love for Kiriya so idk what an unpopular opinion would be XD

Favorite relationship: KiriEmu of course it's KiriEmu. I also love when he interacts with Nico I think they should have interacted more :3 Also also the show is a coward for not having Kiriya and Hiro interact more c'mon-

Favorite headcanon: This is super self indulgent lol. I think he's a patological liar, but he's getting better now that he has friends to help him :3

Vice

First impression: Oh I hated him so much it's so funny XD Everytime he broke the fourth wall I was ready to fight him

Impression now: He's just a (very loud and exuberant) silly guy yay ^w^ He cares so much about his family and his friends and specifically Ikki

Favorite moment: idk if it's the favorite moment but I love the last arc of Revice , Vice is so good in that aaa çvç o|-(

Idea for a story: most of my ideas for Revice stories are more about Ikki dealing with the loss of Vice tbh, idk if I have anything Vice centric 🤔 The first part of the Blue Exorcist crossover is technically more Vice centric I guess, with Ikki being knocked out during it and Vice having to protect him. I also have an idea for a one shot not-fic where Ikki and Vice are having an off day so they just spend the whole day merged, I do have some sketches for that somewhere

Unpopular opinion: Liking Vice itself is an unpopular opinion apparenty XD Also idk if it's popular but on ao3 there's a lot of people shipping him and Ikki and that squicks me out :/ They're brothers to me

Favorite relationship: Vice and Ikki of course. Their relationship is so intresting, all the human-demon relationships are so good and unique and it's such a pity this show is not the kind of show to explore this kind of stuff because aaaaa. And the demon sibling dynamics is so good, Vice Kagerou and Lovekov is such a good trio that was underexplored. Also I love the completely made up relationship he and Tsumuri have in my mind (from when the promos for their Outsiders episode came out. I have not watched that episode yet and I am still living in headcanon only land) They're besties your honor

Favorite headcanon: Vice will not allow himself to see Ikki again. He can't deal with having to say goodbye everytime (at the end of the series and during the stage show and after the Desire Royale) and if it keeps happening one day he'll be selfish and keep Ikki for himself and away from their family and he knows Ikki wouldn't want that (even if Ikki wouldn't remember them) :)
