Instead, she would have to simply be his official mistress. A title she seemed fine with keeping, as long as she could stay with Aegon. Which made him love her all the more.

“Oh ho….you might want to lay off the wine then, your grace. Lest you not be able to gift your lady a prize of her own.”

“As I said, your grace, if you say so. She is just…not…my type. But if his grace prefers her then that is his wish like any other.”

The goblet in Aegon’s hand went flying across the table. Nailing the man in the face with first the wine, then the chalice. He didn’t have time to recover as Aegon was coming over the table at him as well. The man out of his chair, on the floor, while his King pummeled and beat the shit out of him with his fists.

Eventually, Aegon lost the momentum of his anger, and he stood up and over the man. Bloody, wheezing for air through some probably missing teeth & a broken nose, while Aegon towered over him panting and with blood knuckles. He took a deep breath, then pushed his hair out of his face before turning back to the other in the room. Shocked, terrified, too prone to speak or move. “My blood runs hot.” He told them. “I think I shall retire and see what my lady has on offer.” He stepped over the curled up form of his former friend and left the room to go spend the evening with his lady. She asked him what happened. Taking in his disheveled appearance with worry and concern. How could anyone think that she was just ‘fine’. Aegon told her it was just a silly drunken brawl, and they make way to go to bed. She offered herself to him, but all he wanted for the last of his Name Day gifts was to sleep quietly with her in his arms. Ending it on a perfect moment just for him and them, before things went back to ‘the others’ in the morning.

King Robert tends to sneak out of the castle a lot. His advisors and guards despair, trying to impress upon him the danger of the monarch just wandering around villages. They argue even beloved monarchs have enemies who might seek to hurt him while he's dallying about, outside the safety of the palace and his armed guards. The King nods and smiles......and continues to sneak out.

Hob, please don't call him "king" or "Robert," loves getting out of the castle! It's not like regular people really know what a king looks like, even if it's their monarch. When he's out Hob is amazed by his people.

Hob has helped raise a barn, brought in crops, been taught to knit by sweet old ladies, celebrated one of the pagan-ier holidays in a village square (the mead and food were fantastic), got into numerous sword fights to defend the honor of young ladies and men..... It's fantastic and real, and Hob would argue it makes him a better king.

Yes, Hob is aware that his various counselors (and his mom the Dowager Queen) want him to get married and stop venturing out, but all the stuck up potential consorts or soooo stuffy and entitled. Hob does think any of them have helped dig a well for a town that needed water or helped celebrate the birth of a new baby in a village pub!

Besides, there might be this beautiful new artist in town, Dream, who rents a room over the inn and takes simple commissions, who is so lovely. Hob is working so hard to be charming and learn more about him,,,but Dream is tight lipped as to where he's from. Still Hob knows he's wearing him down.....Hob got a small smile from his targeted buffoonery last time!

Since they won't stop, Hob has decided he's going to see if he can convince Dream to marry him! Marrying him has to be better than those self serious "royals". But when he goes to see him, Dream is gone,, like he was never there. Hob is heartbroken.

He guesses he's meant to marry one of the snobs. He lets his council choose. They decide to accept the Endless Kingdom's offer - Prince Morpheus.

This is the romcom we ABSOLUTELY deserve with these two beloved idiots <3

Hob is disconsolate after Dream leaves - he doesn't even have the heart to sneak out of the castle. The villagers are quite worried about him until he finally turns up one evening, basically to say goodbye to all his friends. He explains that a spouse has finally been chosen for him, and that as a married man it will be inappropriate to go out gallivanting and putting himself in potential danger. He will have a duty to spend time with his new husband, too. And his friends all understand - they accept his heartfelt invitations to the wedding. He's brought gifts from the castle for all the kids who've basically adopted him as a big brother. And he definitely sheds a few tears in the arms of the old ladies before he leaves.

Meanwhile, Prince Morpheus is en route to his new spouse's kingdom. He doesn't want this marriage at all, but after he ran away (and then got caught and dragged back home) his parents forced him to accept to situation. They won't even tell him where he's going or who he's marrying - a punishment for his disgraceful behaviour! Dream is fully expecting to be married to some awful old man. But when he gets out of the carriage he finds himself in a rather familiar place... he almost laughs out loud! He quickly has to pretend to be heartbroken over the impending marriage, when he really he's nearly vibrating with excitement.

They don't meet until they get to the altar (it's tradition, for royal marriages). Hob’s eyes light up and he looks over towards where his village friends are sitting like "are you seeing this??? it’s dream!!!" Everyone else is quite confused about why King Robert suddenly looks so happy, but his friends are able to heartily applaud the marriage. He truly deserves to be happy!

As for Morpheus - or Dream, as he prefers to be called - with the wedding officially performed, he can throw himself into Hob’s arms. His parents are pissed off to see their wayward son looking so content, but Dream no longer cares. The fates have been kind to him, and delivered him into the arms of the only man he has ever wished to marry. He can't wait to spend many years sneaking out of the castle with Hob, getting up to all kinds of mischief, and finally enjoying life.

You made your way to the waterfall atop Flower Fruit Mountain, prepared to meet Wukong for another day of relaxation. The Great Sage had been your boyfriend for more than a few months now, and he was very welcoming to you visiting him at his dojo. The smaller monkeys of the Mountain seemed to love you too, so they were always great to visit.

You stood before the sealed waterfall, messaging Wukong that you were here. Your message had been read less than a minute ago when you saw the familiar glow of the waterfall's seal, and said seal fading away. This seemed rather fast for Wukong, but maybe he was already outside? You put your phone back in your pocket with a shrug as you waited for the water to fully disappear. When it parted, Wukong's grinning face greeted you. He excitedly pulled you into the grassy green fields on the other side.

When you were met with his leather armor against your chest in a tight hug, you chuckled and hugged him back. When you separated, you looked up to meet his golden pupils. Then... another Wukong showed up over his shoulder? And a third?? The three identical Sages were all grinning at you, before one of them hopped from behind the Wukong you were hugging. He wrapped you in his arms on the other side of you, the third holding you in the available space and patting your head. They were all speaking at once.

"Sunshine!"

"There's my pretty boy!"

"Hey there, handsome! How are you today?"

You were confused at how you were somehow seeing triple, and even more the fact that they were all cooing and gushing over you at once. Even more so when a fluffy tail wrapped around your waist, tugging you out of their arms. You felt steady hands grasping onto your shoulders. You look up, seeing yet another Wukong. This one had a troubled expression that faded to a nervous smile when he saw you. "Wukong..?" You began uncertainly, and this one brought you in for a hug as well, his chin resting on your shoulder. "Hey, Sunbeam. How are you?" The King asked softly. You almost relaxed, until three pairs of firey eyes glaring into your back registered in your head. You leaned back, looking to the three. "Pretty well, except for... them" you answered, Wukong looking to them. "Oh, yeah. They saw your message and came running over".

"I see" You hummed before gently stepping out of Wukong's grip. He kept his tail wrapped around you for safety, shuffling behind you as you slowly approached the clones. You reached a hand out, and the one in the middle stepped up. He took your open hand, holding it in his own and smiling gently. The other two began huffing immediately. "Hey! I wanna be close to him too!" the one on the left protested. "I barely got to see him! Let me up!" the one on the right chimed in. Wukong rolled his eyes at their attitude, a hint of embarrassment flushing his cheeks under his peachy eyemask.

You smiled, opening your arms. The clones immediately brightened, all swooping in at once to wrap you up in their arms. Wukong made a startled noise, leaning in to keep an arm around you the best you could. Though you were squished with your boyfriend on all sides, you couldn't help but chuckle at the feeling of three fluffy rust-colored monkies petting and nuzzling you, as the real Wukong held you close to his chest and his tail on your waist. "Can we keep them for a little longer?" You asked your Wukong, who looked to the touchy clones. "You sure you want them, Sunbeam?" he asked, and you nodded with a smile. "Of course, why would I pass up the opportunity to have three of you?" You asked playfully, nuzzling into the nearest clone.

Wukong sighed, smiling as he kissed the back of your shoulder "Then sure we can, handsome". With that, all five of you went inside. The four Kings didn't stop clinging to you the entire time, all wanting some connection with you. You decided to take refuge where Wukong kept his cot to sleep in, the clones arranging the pillows and blankets to fit all of you in a comfortable nest. Your Wukong kept holding you tight, nuzzling into the back of your neck with a soft sigh. He closed his eyes as you stayed in the center of them all, a warm cuddle pile soothing you to sleep

My final King’s Rising thoughts 👑👑

- Gotta love Damianos, King of Akielos, looking down at a broken cart and being like “I’m too privileged to know how to fix this” while Lazar and Pallas fuck unsubtly in the background.

- LAMEN. CRYING. 😭😭😭 Laurent really chose Damen’s high school bully nickname.

- Charls is an actual MVP. He took one look at Laurent and understood the assignment. He’s a cousin to the King of Vere now. He is actually a part of the royal family. Ring bearer at the wedding. I don’t make the rules. And the absolute best part about it is that he never fuckin finds out 😂

- Laurent is having the absolute time of his life. He’s sat there TRASHING Nikandros and telling all these Akeilon sluts to cover their arms and accidentally reinventing the cloth trade. What a legend 😂

- The night they spend at the inn is so so significant. Laurent realising that he’s allowed to have desires and finally being asked what he wants. But also the undercurrent of being scared and confused by what turns him on because of his history. Damn I love that his traumatic experiences don’t disappear just because he has Damen now.

- I also need a whole book about their trip through Akeilos - Laurent being too pale and northern for the heat is SO real lol

- King Damianos promising to end slavery 🥲

- I need Laurent and Nikandros to become friends who tease each other ruthlessly.

- Okay so the kid is Kastor’s. I have to admit, I really do appreciate Jokaste and her sacrifices to a certain degree - not the whole degree - but a certain degree.

- Laurent giving himself over for Damen’s sake and the child. Holy shit the symbolism. Damen hearing the Regent confirm what he already kind of knew about Laurent and going apeshit, and Laurent realising he’s defending him. 💔

- “Throw up quick, we need to go.” Nikandros, I love you.

- Damen just WALKING IN to surrender. He really said all eyes on me you’re not gonna forget this.

- He stands up for Laurent against all the odds and I cannot even imagine what that felt like for Laurent.

- GUION YOU RAT ASS MOTHERFUCKER (I should have seen this coming.)

- And this is why you NEVER cross a mother about the ones she loves - the Regent is being taken down by every child he abused and that is exactly how I wanted him to fall. So satisfying.

- Paschal’s testimony and it all coming together. I ADORE how no character is forgotten or irrelevant once they die. Nicaise, Aimeric and even Govart were significant to the Regent’s downfall. The perfect evidence for the council to acquit Laurent and charge the Regent.

- I have to mention the 11 year old boy and how Laurent protects him when he sees him worry for the Regent upon his execution. He truly doesn’t understand what’s going on and the manipulation runs deep. Laurent broke that cycle of abuse.

- Kastor vs. Damianos - another fight that was always meant to happen and solidified that Kastor cannot be redeemed, even by Damen’s kindness.

- Laurent being the one to kill Kastor was only fitting. He’s fulfilled himself, Auguste, and Damen, and he used something so himself to do it. His wits. I really love that.

- And finally we have two legitimate kings, friends, and lovers. Ruling over two kingdoms that will probably end up one. An absolute perfect ending. ♥️

So the lovely @skylarstar1000 was asking their daily question: ‘what are your thoughts on King Creativity’? I’m going to tell you exactly what I think. I believe he was REAL (possibly with another name) and that Thomas will write about him one day. Let me explain my proof—

Logan was the one that explained that Roman and Remus split like an ovum into two creativities, and they are essentially twins, or two halves of the same coin, a light half and a dark half. When that all was said, Roman was knocked out cold and Remus really only had to explain who he was, not how it happened.

What was left out, what we all missed, was the most important information: ROMAN’S SIDE OF THE STORY. I do believe there is still some lore to be explored about Roman before he had to split himself and when/why he went through the process. Maybe not the reason, but I do feel he would want to explain how he felt and the responsibility he claimed for doing so.

It’s possible that the name ‘King Creativity’ is just a fanon name, but there is a hint of proof if you look at Roman’s playlist. In it there is a song called ‘King’ by Years and Years. ‘King’ might just be an arbitrary title reserved for a royal person, HOWEVER, there’s a line in the song that says ‘I had to break myself to carry on’ most definitely referring to Roman splitting from Remus.

So Roman might have been King Roman, is what I’m saying. He was ‘King Creativity’ all along, he broke himself in two to ‘carry on’. There is more to that song about how Roman did all this for C!Thomas, and how Roman was finding the courage to fight that part of himself so that Thomas can live a more noble and happier life. It’s complicated and self sacrificing, but in the end, Roman will always be a protector willing to serve, no matter the cost.
