love how much perspective i've got with doctor who. i knew i loved the tenth doctor in a lot of ways, even with how his serious and emotional scenes can rip me into several pieces and set me on fire and then burn my ashes too. thought i was just a girl loving a fictional man but 15 years later i'm sobbing in the least heterosexual ways possible experiencing tennant's doctors as an ND traumatised gay aspec trans man

how are we feeling about the new netflix adaptation of avatar??!!!!!!!!!!!! the zuko casting eats and swolzai is so cool to see actually translated well (although we will see how they treat the characters in this)

The only thing I’m really looking forward to from the live action is being able to gossip about it with my mutuals. I don’t really have any other opinion, I mean… it looks cool! (Sokkas hair & zukos scar bother me but ehhhh what can I do?) But I’m an animation junky, I love my anime and my cartoons (bobs burgers beloved) so I don't particularly care for the “real people actors” taking over my cartoons but I’m totally chill about it honestly.

I will ABSOLUTELY be watching it and probably will form a more solid opinion after I actually watch the show.

Can I just say, I am SO READY for the Percy Jackson Series to take over my brain!

Do I have time for that? Absolutely not but I'm so excited to feel the exhilaration of a new hyperfixation again. I'm listening to the audiobooks again but an additional visual medium makes my brain go round like a microwave even more, I'm so excited!!

GUYS Eddie Munson is 010 AU BUT he doesn't have the same powers as El. Instead he can dreamwalk.

He does it unconsciously (cuz yk amnesia and stuff) and sometimes he gets into Steve's dreams. Eddie thinks is his own dreams, so he lets himself play the hero. Sometimes he protects Steve while they run from some weird monsters (Eddie will learn much later that they were demogorgons). Other times he takes Steve away from a bad dream and brings him into a good one and they spend time together. Or he helps Steve while they help the others fight what looks like possessed people (which apparently was true- but Eddie learns later about the truth behind the mall fire).

He always jokes about being Steve's knight in shinning armor, with him being the king. Sometimes Steve would call him 'Eddie The Brave' while thanking him for the help/being there.

Then there's this one dream, where Eddie nearly dies saving Steve from Russians for some reasons. That's when Eddie kisses Steve for the first time, while bleeding from bullet holes in a burning mall. "Payment for my services, my King". After that nearly all the dreams end with them kissing- at first is only Eddie that initiates them, but at some point Steve also starts them. And Eddie knows he starts to fall in love for a fucked up version of Steve Harrington made by his own mind and gosh isn't that pathetic. He wants to blame it on Henderson and his worshiping, but the truth was that Eddie has been dreaming Steve before meeting the frenchman kids. Way before that.

Then Chrissy happens and Eddie learns about the Upside Down, but doesn't put two together until he tells Steve something along the lines "Outside of DnD I'm no hero" and Steve's like "You're Eddie The Brave, man. A knight in shinning armor, remember? Of course you're a hero- my hero." And they both froze cuz 1) How does Steve know about that???? and 2) Fuck fuck fuck Steve forgot this is not a dream this is not dream Eddie, his Eddie, this is real Eddie and is gonna totally find it weird he said that.

That's when it clicks and Eddie starts laughing because of course it is a dream, no way that bullshit is real. Another dimension under Hawkins? Chrissy being cursed and dying in front of his eyes for wanting to buy drugs from him??

"Of course. How stupid of me, of course this is a dream! Don't worry, King. I will do everything in my power to protect your kingdom and yourself truly! I am no other than Eddie The Brave, your one and only knight in shinning armor- without the armor apparently, which is kindly unfair my King. I wish to not end up full of holes from Russians, if possible."

And now Steve is confused because this is not a dream... is it??? But it can't be. Is too real to be. But then... how? How does Eddie know about it?

Of course is Dustin that puts two and two together after they convince Eddie that everything is very much real and not a dream and they convince Steve that he's not hallucinating things. That's how they find out Eddie is 010, tho he doesn't know what that means exactly and why is such a big deal that he does have that number tattoed on his wrist.

Then is only tension, cuz neither of them have the courage to mention the kisses. Is very oblivious they are pinning for each other tho.

A few notes from the baragaki arc movie (that I managed to understand with my shoddy Japanese…):

The opening and ending sketches, in pure Gintama-doesn’t-have-that-much-of-a-budget fashion, are voice-only sketches between Hijikata, Okita, Kondo, and Yamazaki as the camera stays mostly on a still shot of the Shinsengumi main gate.

The opening sketch: Hijikata and Okita start by talking about the 20th anniversary project. Okita shows us the timeline of all the events being planned. 3/4 of the chart is labeled “undecided”.

Yamazaki runs in to say that Kondo has lost his mind. Cut to shots from the Soul Switch arc, when the Shinsengumi became a biker gang. Kondo’s gone nuts, so Okita and Yamazaki join in. Hijikata punches the sense back into Kondo, who says the time away from the screen left him a little loopy.

Hijikata introduces the story we’re about to watch, and gets into the relationship between the Shinsengumi and Mimawarigumi, using scenes from the Farewell Shinsengumi arc as b-roll.

The movie proper starts with a short version of the “Wonderland” opening, and is basically the episodes stitched together. I know that there are some reanimated bits (baby Toshi walking with his big brother is one I think, but I can’t be sure without watching both versions again.) It wraps up with “Nakama” and the arc ending credits.

The ending sketch wrap up includes Hijikata talking about what happened after this to the Mimawarigumi, and mentions the big bad guy, over more shots from the Farewell Shinsengumi arc. (I zoned out a bit at this point for reasons and wasn’t fully listening). Kondo and Yamazaki say their favorite part of the movie (the pole and the anpan throwing, respectively). Okita puts in a plug for the next big event, Gintama Sound Ultra Soul, and gives the audience a sneak peak at the upcoming Ginpachi-sensei anime.

It’s a unfinished cel of Hijikata and Okita. Just the one.

“Well, that’s just like Gintama, always rushing to meet a deadline,” Kondo comments (I think).

Personal note: I cried at the end when sister-in-law talked about Hijikata’s letters to his brother. It touched my heart.

oh that guy!! yeah, i've seen him in my dash and i've seen the gifs, but while he also looks like a buff scholar, i didn't get the same vibe as i got from al haitham??

dr. ratio seems more... snobby. lol. he also seems like someone who is more... vocal? extroverted? not as opposed to socializing? or at least that's the vibe i got from him. hskfjskdj idk how to describe it... they don't feel similar to me....
