How many fps do you use in your animations? Also good job!

Hellooo thank you sm!! And it really depends on the project ahah. My default one that I use for lipsync or just "industry standard shots" (like this Luca animation I did a while ago) it's always 12 fps, sometimes 14 if I want to make it a bit smoother. For my recent Gear 5/Nika animation my file was setup at 16 fps, but I did so many frames on 2s or 3s that it looks more like 12-14 ahah it's just useful for those rare moments when I need the extra smoothness

For this one (it's a cancelled Hazbin animation project oops) my file is technically setup on 10 fps but since all the frames are on 2s or 3s it looks like 6-7 fps, if that makes sense?

If you don't know what 2s or 3s means, for example when you setup at 24 fps, when you duplicate every single frame to make them appear twice it means the animation is on 2s, so even if it's technically a 24 fps setup file, the animation will look like it's on 12 fps. You can also make a frame hold longer by just duplicating it etc so you can have your whole animation on 24 fps and have some frames on 2s or 3s here and there to truck the eye, it's just a timing technique

for context the new season is being partly animated by wildbrain i think. flying bark is still working on the show but probably due to all the other projects they've been working on like the atla movie the animation is off.

its understandable that people are upset. lmk has some of the most consistently dynamic and lively animation ive ever seen, and going from that to ok animation kinda sucks. as a culmination of a lot of what the series has been building up to people were inevitably going to be disappointed

at the same time people shouldnt harass animators. like ever. no amount of trying to petition or anything will change the s5, people are just trying to do their job and theres no probably no major changing to the finished product by now. and theres still a lot of that lmk charm in there, and we haven't even seen the whole season yet to judge it. flying bark is still working on it, and even if the animation never reaches the peak of the old seasons it still has the same writers so at least the writing has the chance to live up old standards. idk though we'll just have to wait and see

the way that it doesn’t just make me sad but angry that idols are expected to apologize not just for disappointing fans and their members but for harming them by so much as even having a dating rumor bc is it that bad they found love? or something that could become that? is it that bad for the people you supposedly love and support to be happy? yes I know the industry basically runs on the parasocial relationships but isn’t it high time to recognize that someone else’s happiness is not an attempt to ruin yours? that even if it is painful or difficult for you, that is not the responsibility of the idol. they should not need to apologize for their own happiness and events within their personal life which half the time come out as leaks (read: invasions of their privacy) rather than on their own time. and to go as far as to say it implies they don’t deserve their job or should leave their group… artists experiencing things in life? the emotions of affection and infatuation and love and endearment and everything else that comes with a romantic relationship? that’s only going to give them the capacity to create greater and more enriched art. i’m not saying they’re in a relationship to do (and I certainly hope not) but if you need any reason at all to refrain from causing these idols harm in the way you claim their happiness has so deeply harmed and disappointed you, then take it as them living. that life needs art and art needs life.

so be mbitious is actually a prologue to smf where winners from this show will form a dance crew to participate in the actual prog. guess this was mnet's way of being creative since they lacked enough interest from the male crews to join.

kiel tutin is a special guest judge... and i'm not a fan of his choreography lol he does most of bp, itzy, and aespa's choreo. i think he also did a couple of twice's songs. but for the previous 3 ggs mentioned, their choreo looks awkward af without fancy camerawork (e.g. bp on the colbert show/aespa at mama).

ah we've finally solved the conundrum! tbh i think this was kind of a smart solution on mnet's choice at least, since they have a chance to test run anything they wanna trying before the actual show and also they can drum up a bit of rep for the dancers that make it through pre show, bc idk if this has the staying power mnet wants it to have lmao.

i don't really like any of his choreography either but if he's getting the gigs and has experience in the industry then i don't really have a problem with him being a guest judge. i will defend blackpink this one time and say that the colbert show has uniquely horrible camerapeople for movement-based musical guests, twice was on like last week or something and they managed to make them look lifeless too.

Rate UT characters on likely they are to eat spoiled food

premise: as monster food does not spoil, this speculation is based on how i think they'd treat human food in the post pacifist ending

frisk. trash burger. enough said. (also i hc that they grew up on the streets, so... not a lot of chances to be picky with your food.)

sans. second most likely. there's milk in the fridge bought specifically for him to drink out of the carton whenever frisk's or papyrus' friends come to visit, like a stereotypical disney channel older brother (he loves being annoying on purpose). it's been there for a month. he's still not done with it. it's probably rancid. enjoyer of food and lover of even shittier food. mr worst burger on the menu. he is ESPECIALLY gross about food and he is gross about it on purpose, he will peel an apple for papyrus and then take a bite out of it before cutting him a slice. and then call him a wuss when he acts disgusted. ("stop being a baby bones, we have the same germs anyway" "NO WE DON'T. *YOU* HAVE GERMS! AND I DON'T WANT ANY OF THEM!!" "why? they're pedigreed" "OUGH!?!!"). he mostly uses it as a chance to make a gag (or a lack of gagging, lol) but his strong stomach did also come in handy in the early days of papyrus' interest in cooking

mettaton, of sequins-and-glue hamburgers fame. he's technically tied for 2nd place with sans, but i put him in third because i feel like sans does it on purpose, for mettaton it's more like... a side effect of starting life off as a ghost. few people question it since he's a robot now.

alphys. she doesn't go out of her way to do it, but she buys her snacks in industrial pallet-fuls to reduce social interactions to a minimum, so by the time she reaches the last 3 or 4 packets of blue takis, they're well past their expiration date. not that it stops her. now, this wouldn't happen on the surface because she gets better and has a solid support system, but if monster food could spoil back when she was going Through it with the amalgamates, i feel like she'd either be too depressed or tired to care and eat it, or she'd tumble into a "g-god. you can't even take care of your own f-food. is there anything you can't fuck up" self-deprecation spiral and lose her appetite altogether

flowey. did it to see what would happen. nothing did. never did it again. tbh I just don't think he eats much of anything, spoiled or not.

undyne. getting into the "wouldn't eat spoiled food" tier. she actually thinks it's really gross but papyrus tricks her into doing it by challenging her machismo. she gets SO sick from it. they do this aprox 3 times a month. rinse and repeat

asgore. he's a gardener, and i can see him working in a community garden on the surface, so he'd have access to a lot of fresh produce, for both himself and to give away. however, if some of it were to go bad, he'd probably cut off the affected bit and eat the rest so it doesn't go to waste.

toriel. she is SUPER careful about expiration dates and mold and checks to make sure all she owns is still safe to eat almost weekly. this level of care, however, is mostly meant for other people, not herself, but she would really rather not eat anything that's gone bad. same reasoning as alphys', IF monster food could spoil when she was still in the RUINs, i could technically see her biting the bullet, if only because 1) she was also heavily depressed and struggling to take care of herself, though i think she might sooner skip out on the meal altogether, rather than eat something spoiled, and 2) the awkward stares from the other monsters in the RUINs supermarket might not be something she's willing to deal with on any given day.

papyrus. he would NOT. no way. master of cleaning, germophobe extraordinaire papyrus (well, not really, but he plays the part). if toriel is meticulous, papyrus is obsessive. there better not be a SINGLE spot on his food. and no lines or plaid patterns either!! he WILL wash it untill it goes away. with soap probably. canonically a picky eater to begin with (his picks are just weird as balls). can should and WILL get on sans' ass about his unhealthy eating habits, and that includes eating food that's gone bad.

God this episode really was such a good critique of capitalism and how it's literally destroying our planet, but those with power don't care so long as they turn a profit. When Amity said this line, it hit so hard for me and the metaphor only kept going from there. 

This right here is a feeling that I think a lot of gen z and millennials feel. We’ve been protesting for years and of course we shouldn’t stop raising our voices, but it seems like no matter how much we do, even the world leaders who pretend to care won’t lift a finger if it means they don’t continue to get the political donations and profits they want.

In terms of the capitalism critique as well we have Odalia shown to exploit her workers (as well as abuse her husband) and threaten to force their children into child labor as well if he does not comply with her demands (and tbh we've already seen towards the start of season 2 that she forces Amity already to demonstrate for Blight Industries).

The shipment imagery of a tired Kikimora picking things up draws comparisons in my mind to Amazon warehouses and the haste in which things must be shipped to people, always to the harm of the workers in the factory.

Also, to drive the point home further, we have Odalia using the word ‘business’ constantly, even when not literally talking about Blight Industries.

And of course, we can’t forget the way companies wipe their hands of any responsibility for how their products might be used, drawing a huge comparison in my mind to the U.S. military industrial complex, for instance how the U.S. companies (Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, etc.) and the U.S. government itself routinely sell arms weapons to other countries, frequently in support of genocides like what is occurring in the show (Bangladesh is one example off the top of my head, but there are many others).

The U.S. military also happens to be one of the biggest carbon emitters in the world (see here and here), bringing the climate crisis metaphor full circle. 

This episode was so fucking good and I really appreciate everything the team did here-- they really went all out this episode to criticize capitalism and on the platform of Disney, a notoriously capitalistic and monopolizing company no less? Fucking iconic.

i would have made a separate post for this but i feel like no one would read it so. i’m finally back after um. 10 months. i was super busy and kind of lost interest in enstars and other things so i pretty much abandoned this blog… BUT I HAVE RETURNED! i’m going to try posting every so often and interacting more with you guys on here ^_^ i cleared out my inbox (sorry to anyone who sent things in, it was cluttered and stressing me out haha) so feel free to send me any asks! i will NOT be opening specific requests, but you can feel free to send suggestions for prompts, scenarios or characters you want me to make headcanons for and i’ll try my best!! i also want to try out writing proper fics alongside the silly hc posts, but i might mostly post those on ao3, though i would like a nice balance between silly and serious(ish). i will also try writing for other fandoms like mhyk, twst and pjsekai since i am heavily in those as well but yeah!! my official comeback methinks. hope to chat more with everyone! ♡

The characters in anime aren't fucking white and I need people to stop pretending they are. 99% of anime characters aren't white or intended to be seen as white. Americans and Europeans only see them as such because that's what they want to see and then disregard the characters names, culture, and the entire plot of the goddamn show.

Most "popular" anime treat their female protagonists like garbage or don't even really have any and I'm tired of people pretending that Dragon Ball, Bleach, Naruto, My Hero, AoT, etc treat women like anything other than something to laugh at, ignore, or objectify.

There are plenty of actual queer manga/anime out there and people just refuse to acknowledge any of it because it's not "right" or "perfect" because they often deal with real queer issues and real queer people but no body wants to see that because they just want "a gay kiss" and will scream "SUCH GOOD REP" when a lot of the popular stuff is watered down bullshit. (Same goes for any mainstream queer stuff tbh, often the fault of the publishing/production companies and not the creators themselves but I stand by my statement)

Dubs are difficult and the reason people don't like them as much is because acting to a dub to match existing lip flap movements means that some lines will always naturally feel stilted even if they have the best translators/localizers working their asses off for pennies to make a good adaptation. It's not the fault of the actors, directors, or localizers... it's the fault that dubs naturally have a more challenging ladder to climb to match up to the original which was animated to the performance of other actors.

bro I love clowning on BookTok and how silly stupid BookTok books and trends and tropes are, but I am sick and tired of this 'all BookTok is is porn' discourse.

Like it just reminds me of Twilight discourse, and it stinks of misogyny. Just let people read what they want??? It's not that hard to find a book YOU want to read and look the other way? It's not that hard to engage with BookTok content that can cater your FYP to YOUR book tastes? Also just stop demonizing porn/sex work and those that use those services? Because unless it's depicting something genuinely harmful/hateful/etc. then what does it matter? BookTok critics need to give readers more credit, tbh, because more often than not I feel like adults can differentiate what is real and what is fiction, and can distinguish what is or is not a toxic relationship but still engage with certain material because they like tropes, are exploring kinks, need escapism, etc.?

Like people waste so much time fretting over porn and spice in books. In that time you could have found a dozen more fantasy or sci-fi books that cater to your tastes! As an AroAce person who is discomforted by ideas of sex, I don't engage with smut or spicy books because it's not my cup of tea and I know my personal boundaries. That's it. I just go find books I WANT to read, then! It isn't rocket science! It's ok to not like smut or be uncomfortable with sex scenes/discussions about sex - it's ok! But to go and demonize those who DO like reading that kind of material is hella stupid.

If you really wanna have a discussion about the ick of BookTok then maybe discuss how toxic the publishing industry can be to its authors, especially authors of color, and how it expects authors to work like machines to pump out bestsellers, valuing quantity over quality, or discuss the harm of authors being in review spaces and how this leads to readers facing threats, doxxing, harassment, and then being too scared to share thoughts on books online.

You peeps waste more time worrying about spice and smut when you can just be whimsical and let people enjoy what they wanna enjoy.

Biblically Accurate Barnacles

Ok so I do actually probably have to explain this (this will sound a little conspiracy -ish but please bear with me)

So like at first, I just wanted to draw a realistic polar bear Barnacles, but then I thought, hey if I'm drawing him to be biologically realistic as far as his design goes, why not make him biologically accurate in terms of his actual character?

I've talked ab it a bit before, but the jist is polar bears are hyper carnivores, with vegetation like berries making up only a very small percentage of their diet when sea ice is less expansive. And so, the fact that the Captain (and all the other crew members who are mostly carnivores/ omnivores) eats literally no meat of any kind in the show, and consume only kelp based food, they have all got to be dead may times over. Or at the very least very malnourished.

But then I thought of a headcannon I had, where like, Barnacles would visit his sister Bianca and her kids every now and then (bc they have the most wholesome sibling bond I swear-) and they'd just have like family get togethers and family dinner time. And the idea was, since Bianca isn't an animal rescuer or anything, she would still like eat meat and stuff. So when ever the Captain came over, she would make like seal burgers for herself and Orson and Ursa- and make a special veggie burger specifically for her brother.

B u t T h e n - OHHOHOH THEN, I had a wee thought.

So like Octonauts, animal universe, weirdly advanced technology, yada yada we've been through that before. They can build super complicated vehicles, Tweaks inventions range from already existing to borderline sci-fi. So hear me out here-

What if the Technology in the world of Octonauts is advanced enough, that they are able to produce lab grown meat, like scientists are trying to do right now? So then say maybe a group of mostily carnivore sea-explorers and animal rescuers (the Octonauts) have themselves a moral dilemma. Can't eat fish bc they're supposed to be saving them (+ they can talk so that's kinda fucked), but also can't just give up meat bc malnutritions a bitch. So say maybe they either create or just buy this kind of lab grown meat- right? And what if they put it *in* the kelp cakes? It would explain why we see them eating literally nothing else.

Now you may be saying, Bailey thats rediculous, the kelp cakes are called kelp cakes BECAUSE they are made of kelp, of course theres's no meat in them. And I'd say thats a perfectly reasonable assumption, yk? IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE FACT THAT THERES A CONONICAL BURGER KELP CAKE.

TBH, it's just a wee bit out of place that the burger one is the only traditionally meat based dish here. Everything else is either a fruit or veggie based food. And I'm not even going to get into how the existance of milk and cheese would imply the existance of a dairy industry in this world.

But- not if you use that lab grown- meat idea. Whose to say something like that wouldn't or couldn't expand to other animal based foods, like milk, cream, or cheese?

So yeah thanks for coming to my tedtalk, thats why I draw Barnacles noming on a burg. It's literally 3 am, I am tired.

She is terrified, she could also gain anxiety as the release day approaches. She could also feel a bit embarrassed about the comeback? If there’s any hate comments, she will definitely take it to heart. She might have to fake it til she makes it for the entire promotion times. She thinks that public will betray her if they don’t like the comeback. Hanni could be lacking motivation and confidence, and the stress causes her to have temper tantrums tbh…

Danielle : 6oW rx

She doesn’t seem to like the new sound. She thinks this comeback is a flop, and will cause the group to lose followers and love. She just… doesn’t like it tbh…

Minji : 4oC

Minji is drained, tired and has no motivation. She is completely dissatisfied with the comeback. She’ll think they’ll be unable to break the records they’ve broken from ‘Get Up.’

Hyein : AoS & Temperance rx

She thinks the comeback is innovative, and actually genuinely likes it. She’s looking forward to performing and believes it will certainly make headlines. She wants the comeback as much as we want it too lol! She’s really excited.

“Happy, happy, happy 😸” She also loves the sound. She’s really looking forward to it and knows that it will do well. She knows that they’ll achieve again and gain respect in the industry.

As you could tell, a lot of contradictive thoughts. Some believe it will flop, while some believe it’s a bop. This could have led to arguments and a lot of talks about how they should just try stay positive and remember that they will receive that love from fans and also gain more income. So yea… just a lot of thoughts overall 😅

General publics thoughts: 6oW, 9oW, PoC, The Emperor, The Star rx

They’ll love it and believe that the girls did really well, bunnies will be like, “SOTY again”, “nwjns ready to wipe out awards again this year 😝🫵🏽.” And etc lol! Some could be unhappy at how nwjns look highly overworked and want them to rest. The public could also notice how nwjns aren’t charting as high as they were before too.

Nwjns thoughts on public opinion: 9oW

They would clearly look at the negative and see that ppl aren’t making them chart as high, and they’ll think of those moments from last year BUT this will make them not give up and continue working.

Could also see comments on the overworking, but unfortunately they’ll be unable to control anything…

I wrote my own fanscript of THE OLD GUARD 2

... I got tired of waiting for Netflix, so:

I tried to incorporate the following:

TOG 2 casting (Uma and Henry) plus some locations where the movie was shot last year (as seen in set photos, etc)

my own personal "wish list" of details, but hopefully in a way that makes sense within the larger story (tried to avoid making it just a self-indulgent, shoe-horned laundry list lol) and in a way that it could conceivably be greenlit by the industry -- ie: I'd have loved to write 2 whole hours of them just hanging out playing board games and reminiscing, but that would never be made into a movie.

a few ideas inspired by some of my favorite meta posts/fan art/etc (some of y'all are SO much more creative than the people actually making these movies, istg) -- try to spot them all!

favorite "action" scenes from the Force Multiplied comic, despite this script not being a true adaptation (it just borrows the broader strokes)

the decision not to make Quynh a villain; she's arguably got a hero arc in this, tbh (the top 1% and their use of institutional/systemic oppression to exploit and control the masses is the real villain, actually!)

no new immortals or explanation of immortality, tyvm; I tried to focus on the Family of Six and their shared history as much as possible.
