19. What’re you excited about for next year?
Having my time be mine again. Watching the world turn green again in March or so. Toast cuddles. Husband cuddles. My brother's wedding. Dragging myself kicking and swearing out of burnout. Writing in coffee shops again. Making art on a whim. Putting up shelves in the tavern (our den) (@wasabipesto). Maybe refinishing the coffee table with the same friend who helped me ruin it with nail polish remover. Doing my nails with said friend. Continuing our dnd campaign. Visiting my parents and grandparents. Getting my house organized, however temporarily. Wearing my critical role t shirts. Getting to stop wearing my tmj retainer all the time. Cleaning out my closet. Buying frames for the art that i bought and hanging it up. Getting my new laptop (i named her Lark). Getting a new planner (maybe two). Decorating the guest bedroom. Maybe going to the Renaissance faire next fall. Making terrible jokes about gender with my cousins. Arguing with @wasabipesto about books. Reading @writersblockandapotoftea 's book. Finding out how underwhelming the new Crescent City book will be. Not having to sleep with a humidifier.
Idk man. Just living, i think.

I always thought the "better" I was doing/the more I achieved the worse I felt, but that's not it. The harder I try, the less energy I have to ignore how bad I feel.
I just want to feel better, but the uphill battle is nearly a vertical cliff fall.
I can't stand without my feet going numb. I can't sit without my feet going numb.
My wrists feel like rusted metal.
Binding triggers my asthma.
I am beyond sensitive to heat and get heat stroke constantly. Binding of it makes it worse.
My eyes burn constantly.
I have a 15 year long headache that becomes a migraine if I'm in light too long.
I also get migraines from sudden loud noises, or constant loud noise.
I get cluster migraines "suicide headaches" on an almost monthly basis or more.
I have TMJ which also causes migraines.
Due to my feet, I have been walking funny for 19 years which have caused ankle pain.
I basically have year-long allergies that make it hard to breathe.
I am allergic to basically everything mainstream.
Fucking. I'm done for now. I'm tired of feeling like shit. I don't know how I'm supposed to do this for another year let alone the rest of my pathetic ass life.

Fanfic Update (11/13/2022)
Hello, lovelies. ❤️ I come with good news this time. I'd like to thank everyone for the likes and reblogs of my fics, I appreciate every single one of you. 🥰 I'm still grieving, but I'm doing better than I was in my last post. In fact, I've got four works in progress that I've been working on lately.
One of those is a request from the lovely @acupnoodle 😊 Speaking of that request, I didn't get a chance to work on it last night due to a TMJ Flare up and a migraine. I do plan to work on it tonight. I'm hoping to have it completed, edited, and posted by Saturday (11/19/2022) at the latest. I appreciate your patience and thank you for requesting. 🥰
As for the other three works, they don't have a set date of completion at the moment. Anyhoo, that's all I've got for this update. Peace out lovelies ❤️ and have a good one. 🥰 Much love to everyone. 💞

Why You Shouldn’t Ignore a Missing Tooth?
Tooth loss does more than impact the appeal of your smile, especially if you lose your front tooth. It affects your ability to eat and chew properly, as well as how you communicate. It may also lead to confidence issues and low self-esteem. Missing teeth can lead to a myriad of problems if left untreated.
This post shares more about the consequences of not replacing a missing tooth, as well as the primary causes of missing teeth, so you can take care of your teeth and enjoy a beautiful, confident smile.
What Happens If You Don’t Replace a Missing Tooth?
Most people are usually concerned with the aesthetic impact of a missing tooth. However, your teeth may also shift out of alignment if you don’t replace them as they try to fill the resulting gap. Shifting teeth can create a bad bite and result in oral health issues. When the remaining teeth move, it disturbs the roots, which can weaken their structure and integrity.
You may also suffer from bone loss if you don’t replace a missing tooth. The presence of tooth roots stimulates the gums and jawbones and promotes bone and tissue health. When you don’t replace a missing tooth, the jawbone loses density due to lack of stimulation.
Lastly, you may experience pain and difficulty when chewing if you have a missing tooth. It can take more time to chew your food, and you may feel pain from the pressure. The pressure and muscle strain from chewing with a misaligned bite can lead to headaches, soreness of the jaw, and even temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder.
What are the Common Causes of Missing Teeth?
Missing teeth can occur due to various reasons. Below are some of the most common causes of tooth loss.
Gum Disease: Gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, is the most common cause of tooth loss in adults. The disease spreads from the gums to the bone beneath the tooth, causing your teeth to become loose and fall out.
Tooth Decay:  Untreated cavities can severely affect the tooth to the point that saving your natural tooth becomes impossible, leading to tooth loss.
Accidents and Injuries: You may lose a tooth due to accidents like falls and trauma to the tooth during activities such as aggressive contact sports.
Genetics: Your genes may predispose you to missing teeth when your incisors or wisdom teeth fail to develop. The condition is known as hypodontia if six or fewer permanent teeth do not emerge, and oligodontia if it affects more than six teeth.
Don’t Wait to Replace Missing Teeth
Your teeth work as a unit, and if one is gone, the others can suffer. No matter how you lose your tooth, you should seek professional help for treatment and tooth replacement. You can restore your smile with a variety of replacement solutions, including dental bridges, dentures, and implants. Always seek the services of an experienced and licensed dentist for optimal results and a full, beautiful smile.

Growth Prospects of the TMJ Disorders Market Industry: Research Report
Market Overview –
The TMJ disorders market focuses on conditions affecting the temporomandibular joint, which connects the jawbone to the skull. TMJ disorders can cause pain, discomfort, and difficulty in jaw movement, impacting a person's quality of life. This market encompasses various diagnostic tools, treatments, and therapies aimed at addressing TMJ disorders. It is driven by factors such as the increasing prevalence of TMJ disorders, growing awareness about oral health, and advancements in medical technology.
One of the primary drivers of the TMJ disorders market is the rising incidence of conditions like temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) attributed to factors such as stress, teeth grinding, jaw misalignment, and trauma. As awareness about TMJ disorders increases among both patients and healthcare providers, there is a growing demand for effective diagnostic methods and treatment options to alleviate symptoms and improve jaw function.
Moreover, advancements in diagnostic imaging techniques such as MRI, CT scans, and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) have enabled more accurate diagnosis and assessment of TMJ disorders, facilitating personalized treatment approaches. Additionally, the development of minimally invasive procedures and novel therapies like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and botulinum toxin injections has expanded the treatment options available to patients with TMJ disorders.
The TMJ disorders market is witnessing steady growth, with a focus on innovative TMJ treatment options. As awareness of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders increases, so does the demand for effective treatments to alleviate symptoms such as jaw pain and restricted movement. With ongoing research and development, the market for TMJ treatments is poised for further expansion.
The COVID-19 pandemic has posed challenges for the TMJ disorders market, including disruptions in healthcare services, delayed diagnoses, and changes in patient behavior. However, the increasing focus on telemedicine and remote consultations has enabled healthcare providers to continue delivering care to patients with TMJ disorders, albeit with some limitations.
Despite challenges such as limited insurance coverage for TMJ treatments and the lack of standardized diagnostic criteria, the TMJ disorders market is expected to grow as research efforts continue to improve understanding, diagnosis, and management of these conditions. With ongoing innovation and collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and industry stakeholders, the TMJ disorders market holds promise for better outcomes for patients in the future.
The market for TMJ disorders was estimated to be worth USD 0.5 billion in 2022. According to projections, the TMJ Disorders market industry will expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.10% from USD 0.53 billion in 2023 to USD 0.92 billion by 2032.

Temporomandibular Disorders TMD Devices Market Segment Analysis
The temporomandibular disorders (TMD) devices market is primarily driven by the rising prevalence of TMDs and associated symptoms such as facial pain, headaches, and jaw pain. These disorders are often caused by common triggers such as stress, clenching or grinding of teeth, trauma, and poorly-aligned teeth, which have been increasing due to lifestyle changes and dietary habits.
Moreover, the growing awareness about TMDs and their impact on the quality of life has increased the demand for TMD devices among patients. TMD devices such as splints, occlusal plates, and bite guards are designed to help alleviate symptoms by reducing clenching and grinding forces, promoting healthy jaw positions, and allowing muscles to relax.
The usage of these devices has also increased in dental clinics and hospitals due to their potential to reduce the need for invasive surgical procedures. This has been driving revenue growth for the TMD devices market. Additionally, technological advancements and the development of customized devices are expected to further boost the revenue growth of the market.
In terms of the latest trends, the TMD devices market is witnessing the adoption of digital technologies and 3D printing for the development of personalized devices. However, the TMD devices market faces major challenges such as the high cost of devices, lack of awareness among patients and healthcare professionals, and the availability of alternate treatment options such as medication and physical therapy.
According to the report's main findings, the global TMD devices market is expected to grow significantly in the coming years due to the increasing prevalence of TMDs and the growing demand for non-invasive treatment options. North America is the largest market for TMD devices, followed by Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Furthermore, the report recommends that market players focus on developing cost-effective and personalized devices in order to increase their market share. They should also work towards increasing awareness about TMDs and their treatment options among patients and healthcare professionals.

Dental Splints: Global Market Assessment and Growth Strategies
The global dental splints market size is expected to reach USD 693.0 million by 2030. It is generally acknowledged that oral health has a significant impact on general health. The temporomandibular joint function, for example, and other diseases and treatment alternatives are becoming more widely known (TMJ).

This has given way to growth in the global dental splints market. Furthermore, health care professionals are working together in tandem to provide integrated medical, oral, and behavioral health care in community health centers, schools, medical care settings, nursing homes, as well as in dental clinics. They are also trying to improve access to care by creating a more qualified and diverse oral healthcare manpower, expanding insurance coverage, addressing the growing expense of dental qualification, and improving the overall affordability of oral care.
The prevalence rate of TMJ, temporomandibular joint, and muscle disorder is between 5-12%. Uncommon for chronic pain, the prevalence rate of TMJ disease is higher among younger individuals. TMJ disorders are more common in women compared to men, and women using either oral contraceptives or supplemental estrogen are more likely to seek treatment for these TMJ conditions. Millions of individuals globally suffer from temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ) which are characterized by joint dysfunction and pain. TMJ (ID), internal derangement is the most prevalent kind of Temporomandibular Disorder (TMDs), including 41.1% of patients with TMD. The TMJ condition affects an estimated 10 million Americans, roughly between the ages of 20 and 40 years old - and now those numbers are further growing.
The pandemic has resulted in reduced demand for dental products and equipment which had also impacted the new investment in dental education and the dental healthcare industry. Oral care products such as dental splints, mouth guards, etc. have also faced a low-level of sales and revenue in the first half of 2020 due to the disrupted supply chain of the product and lockdown restrictions in the country. However, in 2021, the market grew at a significant rate due to the covid-19 related stress disorder. COVID-19 outbreak had affected almost every facet of our living hood, and dentistry is no exception. Since stress is one of the leading causes of bruxism, it’s not shocking that it has been on the rise over the last two years. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been noted by the majority of dental practitioners that stress-related oral health disorders have dramatically increased. This has had a favorable effect on the dental splint market in 2021.

The primary difference between a dentist and an oral and maxillofacial surgeon is that the latter has completed additional specialized training in surgical procedures. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are qualified to perform surgical procedures, such as bone grafting, implant placement, facial reconstruction and the removal of impacted teeth. Dentists, on the other hand, are qualified to provide preventive care, like cleanings and fillings, and non-surgical procedures, like root canals.
What do they do at a oral and maxillofacial surgeon?
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are responsible for a wide range of procedures, including:
• Extractions, including the removal of impacted teeth
• Reconstructive surgery
• Facial trauma repair
• Dental implant placement
• Corrective jaw surgery
• Removal of tumors and cysts
• Treatment of facial pain and temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ)
• Treatment of sleep apnea and snoring
• Facial cosmetic surgery
Is Maxillofacial Surgery Risky?
Maxillofacial surgery is generally considered safe, although it does carry some risks. These risks depend on the procedure being performed and the individual's underlying condition. Potential risks include bleeding, infection, anesthesia reactions, nerve damage, and scarring. It is important to discuss potential risks with a surgeon before undergoing any procedure.
What are the benefits of maxillofacial surgery?
The benefits of maxillofacial surgery depend on the procedure being performed. Some potential benefits include improved oral function and aesthetics, decreased facial pain, improved speech, and improved ability to eat certain foods.
In addition, maxillofacial surgery can improve an individual's overall quality of life by restoring facial symmetry, improving self-confidence, and reducing the effects of certain medical conditions, such as temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ).
Do maxillofacial surgeons deal with teeth?
Yes, maxillofacial surgeons do deal with teeth. They are qualified to perform surgical procedures such as the removal of impacted teeth, placement of dental implants, and corrective jaw surgery. In addition, they are able to diagnose and treat diseases and defects of the face, mouth, and jaw.
How long does it take for a maxillofacial surgery to heal?
The amount of time it takes for a maxillofacial surgery to heal depends on the type of procedure being performed and the patient's individual healing process. Generally, healing times may range from a few days to several weeks.

A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE ON BRUXISM
Tumblr media
Dentist have reported an increase in the number of patients who have presented for treatment on tooth damage as a result of Bruxism. Bruxism Treatment has shown an increase since the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Are you wondering what Bruxism is? Well, it is also known as teeth grinding, and is an involuntary action that can happen while you sleep or during the day. There are many reasons why Bruxism may occur. Many people grind their teeth occasionally, something that is not uncommon but can have terrible effects on your teeth, jaw and oral health. Integrity Dental has seen many cases of this.
SO, HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE BRUXISM?
You may not know you have Bruxism if it only happens in grinding teeth while you sleep. It may be discovered if you share a bed or bedroom. The signs that may indicate you have this are:
Headache, facial pain or earache after waking up from a sleep.
Involuntary sleep grinding or clenching your teeth when anxious, deep in concentration with something or angry.
Teeth are worn down, damaged or feel loose
Pain or stiffness in the jaw joints (TMJ)
Teeth feel painful or are sensitive to temperature
WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF TEETH GRINDING?
There is no one single cause for bruxism. Teeth grinding and clenching may be related to a physical issue with your jaw or teeth, emotional issues in your life or even medical reasons.
The risk factor for Bruxism is greater if:
You have a family history of bruxism
Have certain medical conditions, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), dementia or Parkinson Disease.
You feel angry, anxious or stressed
You have missing teeth or an uneven or misaligned bite
You smoke or consume alcohol or caffeine
You have a sleep disorder such as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
You take certain drugs or medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics or illegal drugs such as cocaine.

WHAT ARE THE DANGERS OF BRUXISM?
If you have mild Bruxism, you may not feel any discomfort. A mild case of Bruxism occurs when you grind your teeth about once every three to five days and cause very little damage to the teeth. At this stage, one or two teeth may be worn down, have a crown replaced or some tooth removed. Integrity Dental recommends you seek advice from them directly by making an appointment to have a dental check-up.
However, if you grind your teeth much more than this, severe or chronic bruxism will develop with significant and irreversible damage to your teeth and additional issues that will eventually require treatment.
Complications of Bruxism can include:
Worn or flattened teeth
Tooth loss
Broken fillings, crowns or other dental restorations

Dec 19 2022
It’s just after midnight. I’m really tired but my tinnitus is bad this evening. Think I may have to get one of those sound machines or perhaps an air purifier that can drown out the quiet. For the last half hour I’ve been listening to Mozart at 432Hz. It’s not helping the ear ringing but it’s definitely relaxing. The joys of neck problems. It effects so many things. If it’s not this it’s TMJ or migraines or eye issues or swallowing or ear pain or, or, or…. there always seems to be something. 🙄 So this week I’ll be trying to find something that can drown out this deafening ear ringing. Anyway, I need to get to sleep. Have to be up at 7:30am. Long day tomorrow. Hopefully, there’s no more snow. I did get the ice diggers to put over my shoes but I’m hoping it just rains and washes away all the slippery-ness by tomorrow. That would be a relief.
