Tumblr media
You and your best friend Chrissy are enjoying a girls sleepover at your place on a beautiful spring Friday night. Your parents were out of town on a conference trip, so you had the entire place to yourself. Perfect for the both of you to be silly, have aggressive pillow fights, and watch ‘Black Swan’ at the loudest volume possible.
You two are about an hour into the film, occasionally tucking into the bowl of popcorn laid out in front of you. But, you’d both much rather prefer to dig into your individual bars of chocolate on the bedside counters.
You would be lying if you didn’t put this film on for a little bit of self-pleasure for yourself. Although an early 2010’s movie, the sex scene in this film was actually targeted towards a female audience, so it felt special to feel yourself represented authentically on screen in a sexual sense this early on in film history.
When Nina and Lily’s lips crash into one another, Chrissy lets out a little “Oh my gosh!” beside you. Chrissy was always accepting of your queerness, despite the snide remarks from her parents anytime you went to her house. Her shock was obviously related to the context of the movie, the scene was a pure shock factor after all.
However, Chrissy’s eyes seem to dilate when Nina’s head is thrown back, Lily’s mouth attached to her cunt as she eats the woman out.
“Um…” Chrissy squeaks out, “What does that feel like? With, you know… another woman?”
Your eyes take note of the way Chrissy’s thighs are pretty close together, almost squeezing as a way to relieve something…
And it’s hot. It’s super fucking hot.
Your attitude immediately changes to one of sensuality, teeth lightly grazing your bottom lip, angling your body to the side as you sneakily look her up and down in her pink nightdress.
“Why? Is it making you feel a certain way?” you ask, trying to get her to speak up.
Her pussy tightens at the words, her eyebrows raising as she purses her lips, “Feels good… down there.”
She is very shy with you, a new side of her unlocking that the neither of you were aware of. You understand how scary it is realising that maybe you aren’t as straight as you thought you were, so you try to make the situation as comfortable as possible for her.
You grab her bare thigh, pushing it apart, her moisturised, smooth skin brushing softly against your fingertips. Your other hand runs gently across the centre of her cloth-covered vulva, appreciating the way she flinches against your touch. “Yeah? Right here?”
She nods, her eyes not being able to look away from the sight of your black-painted fingernails tracing against her. She never thought she would be so into this. She’s only been with Jason in the past, and he was abstinent, so this would not only be her first time with a girl, but her first time altogether.
“Do you want me to show you what it feels like, Chris?”
“Um…” she thinks, a little hesitant on the whole situation. “I’ve never done this before…” she quietly speaks out.
“Hey, hey,” you shush her softly, “That’s okay.” Your hand flutters tenderly against the side of her cheek, “I can guide you completely through this, okay? And if at any time you want to stop, just let me know, okay?”
She lets out a sigh, nodding softly, “I’m just scared…”
“Scared about what, honey?”
Her breath hitches at the word ‘honey.’ She already liked the sound of that. She wanted to hear you say that more. It was so sweet, so tender, so… loving.
She gulps, “I’m scared I won’t like it…”
You chuckle softly, “As I said, you can stop any time you want. But, the way your pretty little thighs flinched at my touch… I think you’ll enjoy a whole lot.”
She didn’t realise how much notice you had taken to her small actions of pleasure like that. If you took note of that, what would happen when she couldn’t even try to hide it any longer?
You shift your body so your face is in line with her legs, beginning to delicately place tender kisses along the insides of her thighs. Your fingertips knead into her plushy skin, cupping perfectly into the palms of her hands. You refrain from giving her hickeys, although you’d really like to, just in case her parents notice when she wears that nightdress, or even her cheer uniform, at home.
You tap the lining of her underwear with your pointer finger, “Legs up, sweetie.”
Those pet names were gonna send her to Heaven, but before she can dwell on that, she follows your soft-spoken commands, lifting her legs up so you can delicately remove her pink panties, perfectly matching with her nightdress.
You sigh as you take in the sight of her pretty pussy, “Wow, baby… So gorgeous.” You move your middle finger through her glistening folds, her slick immediately collecting on her fingers. Chrissy lets out a soft sigh above you, her legs flinching at the sensation.
“So wet for me, honey. You ready to find out what it feels like?”
She nods more confidently now, the scene long gone on the small television perched on your bedroom dresser.
“Okay. Just tell me if it’s too much, okay?”
She hums in response, before you dive into her pussy. You drag your tongue from her puckered hole to her clit, swirling your tongue around it, letting her feel every sensation of pleasure.
Chrissy cannot believe what she is experiencing. Everything is so… smooth. Your mouth is so warm, and adds so much extra wetness to what she could already feel between her thighs. The sensation is truly unlike anything she had experienced before.
Your tongue is flicking side to side on her clit, Chrissy’s soft moans filling the air, the calm sounds of the film fading behind you. That was no longer the focus. She was the focus. Only her.
She can feel the sensations all over her body, to the point where she feels as if she’s floating, “Gosh, that’s so nice…”
“Yeah?” you come up for air, “Is it as good as you imagined?”
“Better,” she squeaks out, your mouth wrapping around her clit and sucking, causing her to take a harsh intake, “It’s so warm and tingly.”
“Mhmm,” you mumble against her core, completely unaware of the absolute vibrations it would send through her, Chrissy let out a loud cry.
“Holy shit babe, you sound so pretty for me,” you let out without a second thought, you mind consumed by Chrissy.
You’re determined now, your movements speeding up as her moans become more jagged, her hips softly moving against your face. You let her body take over, wanting her to experience everything she ever needed. You could always be rough and demanding with her another time. God, you hoped there was another time.
What once started as small waves were slowly growing into large tides. What she would normally run away from with squeaks and giggles at the beach was the complete opposite here. She wanted to be drowned in them forever.
“Uh, uh, uh, uh.” Those were the only sounds escaping Chrissy’s mouth, her eyes closed and head thrown back. She was on a different planet entirely, never wanting to descend back to Earth.
You moaned, licked, sucked, anything to get her closer to that edge. You could sense by the way her legs were closing further and further into your head, she was almost there. You just had to get her to that final wave.
“Sweet— Sweetie, my gosh. My gosh, something is happening. Feels so good.”
“That’s it, baby,”you cooed at her, “Almost there for me. Just a little bit more, I got you, honey.”
There was something about her innocence about it all that sent your brain into a spiral. The fact she had never felt an orgasm in her life was something you were determined to keep sacred to yourself. You wanted to be her first… and definitely only.
“Ah, ah! I’m gonna— My gosh, oh!”
“Honey, honey, baby, look at me,” you encourage her. She hadn’t opened her eyes in a long time, not even throughout any of your praise, but something in her mind compelled her to look down at you. And thank god she did.
You make direct eye contact with her, completely parting with her lips as you lowly say, “Cum for me,” before sucking as hard as you can on her pretty, swollen clit.
She lets out a loud whine, thighs trapping you against her as they shake uncontrollably. It feels like fireworks have exploded in her stomach, electric shocks being sent to her brain as she has not a single thought in her mind. It’s so… consuming, mind-numbing. She doesn’t even know where she is. Heaven, Earth, Mars, she doesn’t care, as long as she gets to experience that again… and experience it with you.
Her legs are still shaking as you part from her clit, your hands massaging the plushy skin in order to relax her body and muscles. “You doin’ okay?” you ask gently, Chrissy still looking utterly blissed out.
“Yes… I wanna feel that again.”
“You do, huh?” you chuckle with a sweet kiss to her inner thigh, “Well, I’m happy to oblige. But, for now, I think you need some rest.”
The movie is coming towards the end, only a couple more scenes before the ending. You’ll have to watch it again with her someday, hopefully not getting too distracted this time.
You encourage Chrissy to go to the bathroom whilst you set up the bed, discarding of the uneaten snacks and fluffing the pillows for an ultimate night of comfort.
As she returns, her make-up had been removed, much to your dismay. Seeing her mascara dripping down her cheeks was a sight you’d wish to see every goddamn day on this Earth.
She tucks herself in neatly beside you, snuggling under the covers and facing you. She opens her arms up, encouraging you to cuddle her, to which you agree, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek as you get comfy.
“Thank you,” she simply whispers.
“Of course. Anytime, okay?”
She hums, before slowly drifting off into a deep and content sleep. You had no idea where this had left you in terms of the friendship and relationship barrier, but it was something you could worry about in the morning. For now, you could fall asleep with the prettiest girl in existence in your arms, and that’s all that mattered.

I read your argument post and I read the same opinions online. I would like to ask if you considered that Deruth might have hestitant to communucate his feelings because he mught lose his relationship with Cale. I agree with the opinions that communication is important but shouldnt Cale also communicate his father?
Also, you cant deny that Cale wasnt the best person in his version in the story. He was called a trash for a reason.
I also feel that you keep Violan, Basen and Lily out? Do you not consider them as Cale's family? Why or why not?
Anyway, interested on what you think
My take on this:
Deruth is the adult. Cale is the child. It doesnt matter how many times have passed. That is their relationship and their dynamic. It is the duty of the adult/parent to care for the child and assume all the heavy lifting in the relationship until Cale himself is an adult. The main reason is that in the end, it is the adult/Deruth who brought Cale into this world and is tasked to guide said Cale - not the other way around. And Deruth's problems or flaws will affect Cale no matter what. I also like to highlight that almost all power and authority resides in Deruth as a parent and adult in all ways - good or bad.
ETA: There is a line in Sekiro by the last boss - Hesitation is defeat. It's fine to hesitate - as long there is also an acceptance of the risk with the choice. In this case, the growing gap and distance between the two, the continuation of resentment or other negative feelings Cale has for the relationship. While distant is not yet formed as full rejection here, constant isolation and uneasiness in the relationship are good ingredients to maybe a permanent no contact with each other in the future. TLDR - Hesitate at your own risk.
re:Cale communicaitng. Sure, Cale can talk. The issue is - is he comfortable enough with his relationship with Deruth to actually communicate his true feelings? Deruth distanced himself and Cale would have definately felt that. Deruth was given a wide berth due to his grief and his remarriage - assuming it helped him cope in his roles. But his relationship with Cale never did recover pre-Jour's death because rifts and gaps formed during the distance. So, if there are already gaps and issues, do you think Cale would be comfortable bringing his concerns without being accused of destroying/delaying Deruth's happiness? If this is the case, shouldnt be the parent/adult be the one who gives reassurance, love and all those things that help them reconcile and their relationship grow? Or is it another burden for the child who has to hide his own authentic self because he already experienced being isolated and hurt from the person who is supposed to give him unconditional love?
2nd question - He wouldnt need to be a trash if his own father protected his new family over the status he inherited.
For the third question - Violan and her children are his stepfamily. Deruth chose them for himself - not for Cale. Stepfamily dynamics are complex and way more complicated vs bio/nuclear family. There are many issues but I would say that Cale cared for them because his father brought them in Cale's life. One argument (reflected in real life) is since they made Deruth happy, Cale should be happy that his father is happy because of them. In a morbid sense, it can implied that post-Jour, Cale wasnt able to give his father happiness or him being enough for Deruth to move on from grief (not that he is supposed to in the first place). In way, Cale deserves them than his father but his link to them is very weak. The Henituse is a classic high-functioning dysfunctional blended family.
I know many people hate the prefix of 'step' and 'half' - but in the 10yrs that this family has been doing, there has been no evidence they came together or act as one unit. It's always Cale or Deruth + Violan (& OFC Basen and Lily). Violan will side by her husband and take Deruth's lead (wrongly or rightly) because she did marry him (you dont marry children, I cant fathom why she did marry this man but I digress) and Basen and Lily would side with their parents. So, I dont think they are a family - they are people who live in the same place and trying to get along like roommates. Besides, it seems that Deruth + Cale isnt considered as a family in its own right.
Hope this satisfies your interest and ask away again if I left out something...

I thought your answer on jily and whether or not they were in love or if it was abusive super interesting!
Personally I’m not the biggest jily fan but that has more to do with the main tropes being used that I tend to find tiring and outdated. But Ive been trying to get more into it recently and it’s been hard finding fics I enjoy because they are either too snape bash-y or feel anachronistic in how they portray the relationship. When im reading jily I actually prefer the writer to lean into the outdated tropes instead of trying to make it fit the modern readers ideas of appropriate courtship behavior, because otherwise it doesn’t feel authentic to me. Specifically it bugs me when they make James a super feminist that would never ask Lily out more than once (I don’t think he’d recognize that as sexual harassment as a teenager boy in the 70s). I get that this is popular fanon right now but it’s been hard to find a fic that doesn’t have this.
So my question is do you have any jily fic recommendations that fit this description (minimal Snape bashing and time period accurate)?
Hi there!
By your wording, I'm not sure if by "time period accurate" you mean fics where he actually asks her out a lot. The beginning of your post seemed to imply that, even though I would argue that it's not the only time period accurate headcanon. Indeed, there are plenty of reasons someone in the 70s may not have repeatedly asked a girl out - from his ego being bruised by her first rejection, to he actually took no for an answer and that doesn't necessarily mean he's a super feminist icon. Not everyone who takes no for an answer is. :p
You may have more luck with old-time fic, tbh - the "ask her out a million times" trope was much more prevalent then, and people were not as feministically aware :p though Snape bashing was much more common. I actually feel that in most newer Jily canon fics Snape is portrayed as a well-rounded antagonist, rather than bashed.
So I'm going to start with some oldies:
I recently read Commentarius by @bcdaily and, while I wouldn't say I got the perfect 70s vibe from it (more like the 90s - it felt very accurate to the way I grew up), I enjoyed seeing in it a portrayal of James that I think most people wouldn't dare write today for fear, exactly, of him not being feminist/respectful enough to Lily. I won't get into details to avoid spoilers. (Very long and incomplete, but considered a classic.)
I also hear The Life And Times by Jewels5 features an immature James who grows up throughout the fic, but I haven't read it so I couldn't tell you myself. (Also very long and incomplete and considered a classic.)
If you enjoy the idea of James being an outrageous little shit for comedic effect, you might enjoy Procrastinator-starting2moro's fics. I haven't read Obsessive Lily Disorder since 2006 so I can't say I remember it very well but the title should give you an idea of how insistently he asks her out in it :p though there may be some Snape bashing in it.
For more recent works, I will gladly recommend everything by @nought-shall-go-ill, who creates the most atmospheric depictions of 70s/80s UK, and also likes Snape and enjoys nuanced portrayals of Jily.
Other writers whose portrayals of James I thoroughly enjoy and who do a great job of presenting James as the little shit that he is include @annasghosts and @ohmygodshesinsane.
And to finish with some self-recs, anything in my James Potter Is A Little Shit tag should be a good bet. I would give a shout-out to my older fics Birthday and Fascination, and my newer ones Written In History and Drunk With Power as the ones you may enjoy the most. And I'll gladly tout readers' favourites The Great James Potter and Mistletoe Mishaps as examples where James is respectful to Lily in ways that I feel are natural and reasonable for the era, all while he's still a little cocky shit.
Hope this helps! Happy reading!!

My Crush: Alyson Hannigan (from Buffy to American Pie to HIMYM)
In the pantheon of Hollywood stars, few have achieved the level of adoration and respect as Alyson Hannigan. With a career spanning decades, Hannigan has captivated audiences with her undeniable talent, infectious charm, and unparalleled versatility. From her breakout role as the lovable Willow Rosenberg in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" to her iconic portrayal of Michelle Flaherty in the raunchy comedy "American Pie" and her beloved character Lily Aldrin in the hit sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" (HIMYM), Hannigan has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry.
Born on March 24, 1974, in Washington, D.C., Alyson Hannigan's journey to stardom began at a young age. Blessed with natural talent and a passion for performing, she quickly found success in the world of acting. However, it was her role as Willow Rosenberg in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" that catapulted her to international fame. As Buffy's loyal and quirky best friend, Hannigan's portrayal of Willow resonated with audiences around the globe, earning her a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim.
But it wasn't just Hannigan's acting prowess that made her stand out; it was her ability to infuse each role with depth, authenticity, and humor. In "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Hannigan tackled complex storylines with grace and nuance, portraying Willow's journey from a shy, bookish teenager to a powerful witch with emotional depth and vulnerability. Her on-screen chemistry with co-stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Nicholas Brendon added an extra layer of magic to the show, solidifying her status as a fan favorite.
Following her success on "Buffy," Hannigan continued to showcase her range as an actress, taking on roles that pushed boundaries and challenged stereotypes. In 1999, she starred as Michelle Flaherty in the cult classic "American Pie," a role that would cement her status as a comedic powerhouse. As the sweet and innocent band camp geek, Hannigan delivered a performance that was both hilarious and endearing, earning her widespread acclaim and establishing her as a leading lady in the world of comedy.
Of course, no discussion of Alyson Hannigan's career would be complete without mentioning her iconic role as Lily Aldrin in "How I Met Your Mother." As Ted Mosby's best friend and confidante, Lily brought heart, humor, and a touch of mischief to the beloved sitcom. Hannigan's portrayal of the quirky kindergarten teacher won over audiences with her impeccable comedic timing and undeniable chemistry with co-stars Jason Segel, Neil Patrick Harris, Cobie Smulders, and Josh Radnor.
Throughout her career, Alyson Hannigan has embraced her sexuality and body positivity, often showcasing her figure in various film and television roles. From her memorable scenes in "American Pie" to her playful antics in "How I Met Your Mother," Hannigan has never shied away from embracing her physicality as a part of her characters. Her confidence and comfort in her own skin have inspired countless fans and served as a powerful reminder that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
In an industry often plagued by unrealistic beauty standards, Hannigan's unapologetic embrace of her body sends a powerful message of self-love and acceptance. Whether she's playing a witch, a band camp geek, or a kindergarten teacher, Hannigan's authenticity and charisma shine through, reminding us all of the importance of embracing who we are, flaws and all.
As Alyson Hannigan continues to dazzle audiences with her talent and charm, one thing is clear: her legacy in Hollywood is secure. From her early days as Willow Rosenberg to her unforgettable performances in "American Pie" and "How I Met Your Mother," Hannigan has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry, proving time and time again that she is a force to be reckoned with. And while her body may have been exposed in various movies and TV shows, it is her talent, wit, and undeniable star power that truly shine brightest of all.

As much as I hate Lily Orchard, white favoritism is a thing in pretty much every fandom. One example I can think off the top of my head in the toh fandom, was back when Thanks to Them aired, and many people mocked Luz's scene in the classroom (despite being literally a display of suicidal ideation) while writing thinkpieces about Hunter's mental health and abuse, basically ignoring the Black main character's mental health issues to focus on the white boy (hopefully this doesn't come off as me hating Hunter, I like him a lot, it's just an example)
Speaking of season 3, there was quite a group of people who hated on Luz due to her mental health issues, calling her selfish and ungrateful while she was struggling with self-destructive behavior while, once again, Hunter didn't get as much backlash for his ""selfish"" behavior in For the Future, as people mostly understood he was struggling with his mental health and grief. It's a sadly common thing in fandoms to narrow Black characters down as one dimensional and "bad", while white characters get a pass and sympathy from fans
Another example of racism in the fandom, is whitewashed art of Black and brown-skinned characters, mainly Luz, and how many artists don't take this topic seriously - that was more common in the early fandom, though, thankfully becoming less frequent as time went one
There's some other examples: in 2021, there was a Skara/Edric comic that spiraled huge controversy on Twitter due to Odalia objectifying Skara and referring to her as an "it", which has very clear racist undertones. Also, art on Twitter of Luz saying she's gonna "ruin" Amity's bloodline by joining her family, also having clear racist undertones (There's likely more, but these two are the first ones to come to my mind, as they received tons of deserved backlash)
So yeah, once again, I dislike Lily Orchard, but denying racism in the fandom is just... wrong. It may be a minority of fans, especially nowadays, but it's there and it harms people of color in the fandom, who tend to get mass harassment for calling it out. I also hope this doesn't come off as rude, the post just brought back some memories of my personal experiences in the fandom, and I thought I should share
Oh my...I never knew it was that bad. The large majority of the fandom loves Luz but to hear some truly nasty people treat her and the other BIPOC characters like this is just wrong. Speaking as comic and video game fan: I know how most of the Batfam fandom will erase Cass, Duke and Steph all while propping up white/white-passing male characters like Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian (nothing against either of them); how Marvel comic fans will downplay characters like Kamala and Miles or slut-shame MJ; how lead female characters of color in games like Forspoken, Dustborn and Mirror's Edge are lambasted as "too angry", "too vulgar", "too snarky", "too unlikeable" by gamers AND critics alike while angsty white male leads in certain popular games are given free passes. I feel you, There is rampant cishet white male favouritism in ALL of nerd culture and I absolutely hate it. For the record, I have nothing against cishet white male characters in general, I just cannot stand double standards that force female and minority characters to jump through multiple flaming hoops to prove their "authenticity". I looked up the whitewashing "fanart" people were drawing of Luz, Gus, Willow, and-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Disgusting.
*To those so-called "fans"*
If you think Luz, Guz, Willow, Darius, Camilia and others would be better if they were white, if you so happen to be inbred, racist piece of crap.
Get the Hell out and NEVER set foot in this fandom (or any fandoms) EVER AGAIN. Dana didn't create a beautiful whimsical masterwork of animation just so you could hijack it for portraying your own twisted Hapsburg utopia. In fact, she hates everything filth like you stand for. So once again, get out and get drenched by acid rain.
*sighs* That felt good.
Just remember: Plasma Lily stands with marginalized voices.

I relate to Nina in the sense of how her search for perfection ultimately led to her self destruction. Her light feminine energy which translated to her perfection seeking, and other aspects of her personality were a bit triggering for me considering how similar her characteristics are to mine.
I would say Lily was the best character of the film. Her down to earth and chilled out personality is something I aspire to be. Fierce. She was so fun-loving and effortless - living life without a care in the world. Sometimes an enigma and often depicted as Nina’s shadow side, Lily represents dark feminine energy and I am so here for it.
This is because Lily is essentially encompassed by authenticity. The dark feminine is freedom.

i’ve been thinking about iphigenia moss today!! i haven’t come up with much on how i see her (other than she’s for sure an indie girlie) so i was wondering if you had any thoughts??
oo yes i do have some iphigenia thoughts!! (most of these will be solarmoss, be warned)
here are some:
- they are nonbinary and use they/she pronouns
- around dennis and to some extent other friends, they act like their true self and don't have to pretend to be more social or outgoing to fit in (in truth, they hate the limelight that the capitol puts on the kids)
- she is genuinely a very creative person, who likes making art (sewing, sketching, they want to be a fashion designer)
- she has to put that aside though because their parents want them to run the food industry like they did
- they were very studious growing up and pushed herself very hard but eventually got burnt out
- as a result of that they always have to pretend they're fine and act like she has everything under control which only further burns her out
- their relationship with her father is very strained, so that's when she turns to not eating as an act of defiance
- only it backfired and turns into something that they can't stop doing, and she becomes obsessed with their body image because of the capitols expectations
- the only "real friend" they have is dennis, and they talk to eachother about everything
- her and livia are family friends, they aren't that close but speak occasionally
- she doesn't like coriolanus tho
- never really realised she was a lesbian because of what was expected of her from her family - it was very "marry a man that we want you to marry" sort of thing (this is inspired by til death do us part by saffronfields023, i love this fic sm)
- when iphigenia first meets sol, they realise how authentic they're being and how she doesn't have to lie to get sol to like her
- she loves sol's smile
- she feels much better when she's around sol, they start eating more and not forcing themself to do things they don't want to
- she really feels like sol is the first person they have ever met (aside from dennis, but i mean this in a romantic way, which she doesn't have w dennis) that truly loves her for her
- this all ends, of course, when sol dies. iphigenia puts her walls back up and lies to lepidus about sol, saying that she didn't even know her name ("sal or something") because they were that depressed after sol's death
that's all i have for now, sorry to end it on a sad one 😭
thank u for the ask lily <3 always appreciate you in my ask box !!

Thoughts
This is a great book for high school students questioning their sexuality. It addresses important issues within the queer community, such as biphobia, which is often overlooked. The character Gretchen, a lesbian, feels compelled to act as a gatekeeper for the community due to her own experiences. She believes her lived experience gives her the right to dictate who can be part of the community and who cannot. While Gretchen’s perspective is understandable given the challenges she’s faced, it raises significant questions about inclusivity and acceptance within the LGBTQIA+ community.
The book thoughtfully examines the harmful impact of forcing others to conform to rigid definitions of identity. It highlights that such gatekeeping can be just as damaging as the external discrimination that the LGBTQIA+ community has fought against for so long. The story underscores the importance of allowing individuals to define their own identities without fear of judgment or exclusion from within their own community.
The author skillfully navigates these complex issues, presenting both sides of the argument in a balanced and comprehensive manner. This nuanced exploration helps readers understand the importance of empathy and open-mindedness. The characters are well-developed, and their interactions are filled with witty banter that brings a light-hearted touch to the story. Their humor and authenticity make the book an engaging read, providing moments of genuine laughter and warmth.
Additionally, the book is a delightful representation of gay and bi awakenings, offering a heartfelt and relatable journey for anyone exploring their own identity. The characters are lovable and their stories are compelling, making it easy for readers to become invested in their journeys. The book not only entertains but also educates, making it a valuable read for both LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a charming, thought-provoking story about self-discovery and acceptance. It's an excellent choice for readers who enjoy character-driven narratives with meaningful themes and delightful humor.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to read cute gay/bi awakening story with loveable characters!

-XOXOX-
A deep, deep sigh leaves Astrid as she sits on the bleachers, trying to enjoy the warm sun of the early summer.
It’s been almost an entire school year since she left Berk, her home, with a sport’s scholarship in her corner. She, Hiccup and Snotlout are the only ones who made it off the island. The twins never felt like going to college and Fishlegs didn’t quite make it. It was devastating for him to learn.
The three of them were send off to colleges in the mainland. Snotlout and Hiccup got into the same one, along with Heather, so she has heard. That has left her here all alone.
She has made friends, of course. She has classmates she talks to, but it’s not the same as talking to the people she has known literally all her life. The things she could tell them, she can’t tell the girls of her sport’s team. And when she punches a guy for being a creep, she’s seen as a freak, the problem. While back home, she would’ve just been same old Astrid and given a pat on the back.
She misses the freedom that comes with being around her childhood friends, misses her family, her home, the beach... But there are two she misses the most and they are her dragon, Stormfly, and her best human friend in the whole wide world; Hiccup.
He makes her happy, makes her laugh, helped her realize there was nothing wrong with being her authentic self and embracing every part of her, both the emotional and the stereotypical as well as that side of her that likes to punch creeps in the nose, breaking it.
Opening the notebook in her lap, she solemnly stares at the dried flowers and petals she has been pressing between them.
Lavender, yellow roses, and red lilies.
They’re a confession. One of devotion, of friendship, of unconditional love.
And they’re meant for him.
One of the girls suggested it after learning that her crush has a rather creative mind.
Astrid thought it was stupid, but now here she sits with dried and pressed flowers and she feels stupid.
Hiccup is miles away, living a similar, yet an entirely different life from her. If it wasn’t for Toothless, the general consensus was that Hiccup would probably move away from Berk for college and stay away. And if he finds a part of the world where he can live his life along with his dragon, he may still leave.
Their lives are going into two different paths. If he doesn’t already have a partner by now, he must have feelings for someone by now. Without a doubt, he has certainly drawn enough attention by just being around.
Last time a break from school brought them all home, she had asked him straight up. She asked him if there was someone in his life, she pretended she was asking out of pure curiosity, just a friend wanting to catch up.
He told her no.
But there was something in the way he said it, how caught off guard he seemed by her question, how he stumbled over his own words before finally formulating such a simple one-worded answer.
He has someone, she knows he does. And if they aren’t together yet, it won’t take much longer until they are.
Years of basically living right next door to him, of silently pining, she can’t believe there would ever be a moment in which she could lose him.
That’s why she’s been trying to put this confession together and why she feels so dumb for doing so.
What if it’s all for nothing? What if she should just be happy with the friendship she has with him instead of potentially ruining what they already have?
Astrid stares at the dried flowers bunched together in her notebook, a hand on them when a breeze threatens to blow them away.
She has no idea what to do with them yet and no idea if she should even try.

So given my last meta and the thoughts on gg s1 and mirror structure, i wanted to clarify a little—because it’s got a complicating factor, and that factor’s name is Blair Waldorf
There’s a version of this story where it works out neatly:
Dan and Serena, our leads, Lonely Boy and the It Girl, come together and realize that they’re more similar than anyone, themselves included, thought
Rufus and Lily, their single parents, are mirrored themselves. Rufus has his marriage collapsing around his ears, and he’s stuck clinging to the past. Lily, on the other hand, needs to learn to accept hers, even as she has a (less than perfect) marriage coming together
As the lightly estranged childhood friends (and kind of sort of secondary romantic interests), Nate and Vanessa make another pair, also sharing between them their families’ high expectations. What separates them is, firstly, that Vanessa did the leaving and Nate was one the left, and secondly, that Nate tries much harder to be what everyone wants
Rounding out our protagonists are the younger siblings, Jenny and Eric. Where Jenny is an outsider pushing her way in, Eric was born with privilege and has been pushed to the fringes
And then there’s Blair
Gossip Girl is not just a story about Dan-and-Serena, it’s a story about Blair-and-Serena, with Serena forming a relationship to Dan and rebuilding her relationship with Blair. This makes Blair Dan’s mirror, even before Bad News Blair’s famous hallway scene between them—Blair’s cruelty and the mask she wears for the sake of popularity are cast in sharp contrast to the awkward authenticity of Dan from minute one. As the scorned best friend (ft. subtext), Blair also mirrors Vanessa, and they have their own conflicts regarding morality and self-serving behavior that might leave them more similar than they’d expected (season 2’s historic building plot, season 3’s Enough About Eve)
Blair has a mirror in Jenny, the would-be queen. They are the same, clawing in hopes of being seen by those around them and approved of, but Blair begins on the top and Jenny at the bottom of the heap.
But Blair’s most prominent place is always as Serena’s foil. She is the calculation to Serena’s natural charisma, the cool to her warmth, the moon to her sun—the Darth Vader to her Sunshine Barbie. They are, always, trapped in a binary orbit. And this breaks the rule of mirrors even further, because Blair does not reflect on the interrelationships between Brooklyn and the Upper East Side, the prominent theme that these are all just people dealing with the problems people have
Instead, Blair’s status as a foil to Serena shows us that Serena doesn’t belong. Think of A Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate—Serena begging Blair not to do what everyone does, to be better the way she’s trying to be. Blair tells us that Serena, for all her It Girl glory, isn’t as much of the UES as everyone thinks

In a bustling city, two souls found themselves walking down the same street, completely unaware of the beautiful connection that awaited them. One was a transgender girl named Lily, who exuded confidence and grace with every step she took. The other was a gay man named Alex, who radiated kindness and warmth with his charming smile.
It was a sunny afternoon when fate intervened and their paths crossed. Lily was on her way to a café, lost in her thoughts, when she accidentally bumped into Alex while checking her phone. Startled by the collision, they both apologized, their eyes meeting for a brief moment that felt like an eternity.
In that instant, something magical sparked between them. Lily, intrigued by Alex's vibrant energy, couldn't help but smile. Alex, captivated by Lily's beauty and authenticity, felt an inexplicable pull towards her. They exchanged a few words, sharing laughter and small talk, and decided to have a cup of coffee together.
Over cups of steaming coffee, Lily and Alex discovered a deep connection that transcended their shared identities. They spoke about their dreams, their fears, and the challenges they had faced as members of the LGBTQ+ community. Their stories intertwined seamlessly, as they found solace in each other's understanding and acceptance.
As the days turned into weeks, their bond grew stronger. Lily and Alex spent countless hours exploring the city together, hand in hand, creating memories that would last a lifetime. They celebrated each other's victories and provided unwavering support during moments of doubt.
Their love blossomed like a vibrant garden, filled with acceptance, respect, and admiration. Lily, with her unwavering strength and resilience, became Alex's pillar of support, empowering him to embrace his true self without fear. Alex, with his unwavering love and compassion, became Lily's safe haven, reminding her that she was worthy of love and happiness.
Their love story was not without its challenges. They faced adversity and prejudice from the world around them, but their love proved to be stronger than any obstacle. Lily and Alex stood together, resilient and united, breaking down barriers and fighting for acceptance and equality.
Years passed, and their love only grew deeper. Lily and Alex became beacons of hope and inspiration for the LGBTQ+ community, sharing their story and spreading love wherever they went. Their love was a testament to the power of embracing one's true self and the beauty of finding love in unexpected places.
And so, their love story continues, evolving and thriving with each passing day. Lily and Alex, two souls who met on a busy street, are living proof that love knows no boundaries, no labels, and no restrictions.
They are a reminder that true love is found when we open our hearts and embrace the beauty of diversity.
My first note here, share your thoughts 💞🏳️‍⚧️✌️

Oh yeah, Lily, you're not a white person. You're so native american.
......
You're so native american that you're not even claimed by the Nation, you're so native american you chose not to contact your Aunt who was actually claimed by the Nation and who could have helped you connect to that culture, you're so native american that you didn't even know what two spirit was until someone explained it to you, you're so native american that you burn sage, a practice many native people have spoke out against. you're so native american that your Avatar's skin is significantly darker than your actual skin tone in real life and is wearing a fucking. feather. on her ear, just to show how "Native" she is (and dont give me that Sylvanas Windrunner inspiration crap, we all know what you were doing) Youre so native american that the supposed native american "trinket" your grandfather left behind was just an unauthentic cheap pendant you could buy off of ebay that was designed by a coloniser. You're so native american that out of all of your siblings, you're the one who got the "native gene" because of "thick straight black hair," but oh wait! Apparently, Courtney is native too! She's just got internalised racism! You're just so. fucking. indigenous. that you think that if you were to die or go missing, you would be labelled as just another case of a Native Woman getting injustice, even though you yourself admited that you don't really face racism since you look white,to the point that you literally had to make yourself yellow by applying concealer in the worst possible way just so you look all nice and "exotic" for your predominantly white audience in that picture, but surely there is no way you're white Lily! You love minorities! Especially Black women who have definitely felt comfortable interacting with you, and you've never been at all fetishy with black female characters.
No but in all seriousness, if Lily wanted people to think she's secure in her "identity as a native woman", she wouldn't need to darken her avatars skin tone despite being much lighter in real life, she wouldn't need to play up how "native" she is, and if she really was native, then the "supposed dear pendant that her grandfather left behind for her as his last gift" WOULDN'T BE ON HER CHEST WHILE SHES LITERALLY STRIPPING SHIRTLESS ON STREAM
LIKE IF YOURE GONNA BROWNFACE AT LEAST VERIFY WHAT IS AND ISNT AUTHENTIC TO THAT CULTURE 😭
the thing is, to LO being "native/indigenous/Cherokee" is entirely about looking like a sexualized brown woman and having a shiny new shield from which she can scream about how everyone else is racist (for disagreeing with her). it has nothing to do with culture, community, tradition or actually nothing of what makes actual Native people proud in their heritage. it's entirely self serving and superficial. the worst thing may be that none of that is LO's original idea. those are just the regurgitated racist garbage that her mom was already spewing and LO just uncritically took it at face value, as a 31 grown woman. the only thing that LO might have added was stripping with a supposed "family heirloom".

It ends with us reviews
Book: It ends with us
Author : Colleen hoover
Genre: romance and slice of life.
My ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ definitely 5/5
About book
Another excellent book to consider is "It Ends With Us" by Colleen Hoover. This novel navigates the complexities of love, loss, and self-discovery with grace and authenticity. Hoover's writing style effortlessly draws readers into the lives of her characters, making them feel deeply connected to their journeys. Through its compelling storyline and well-developed characters, "It Ends With Us" offers profound insights into the human experience and encourages reflection on the nature of relationships and personal boundaries. This emotionally resonant novel is sure to leave a lasting impact on readers long after they've finished the last page.
My thoughts
From a playful conversation to miserable tears, this book has my heart.
The way, Ryle and Lily meet and the story unfolds, it was so enchanting. I loved every single bit of the story, it was so perfect.
lasted. I really loved the couple Ryle and Lily as well but made me upset because I really adore him but they didn't
The Naked Truths and Lily Bloom's journals were just my muses. The sudden change in the romantic wave made me so wonder-struck. How has it changed the violence and vulnerability of the characters? I loved it all. Well.. Life happened, and yeah, it was really painful in the last few chapters. I really loved the chemistry between Atlas and Lily. It was a short American dream, haha, until it lasted. I really loved the couple Ryle and Lily as well, but it made me upset because I really adore Ryle, but they both didn't end up well.
Well the dialogue “There's no such thing as bad people. We're all just people who sometimes do bad things” is simply amazing .
Overall the novel is amazing. And I loved it.
It made me cry for days and yea I also feel Ryle deserved a better ending because all of us loved him. He was not a bad person. He had both sides in his personality, good and bad simultaneously.
Favorite dialogues
* "All humans make mistakes. What determines a person's character aren't the mistakes we make. It's how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses."
* "In the future... if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again... fall in love with me."
* "You're only human. And as humans, we can't expect to shoulder all of our pain. Sometimes we have to share it with the people who love us so we don't come crashing down from the weight of it all"
* "Naked truths aren't always pretty."
* "Life is a funny thing. We only get so many years to live it, so we have to do everything we can to make sure those years are as full as they can be. We shouldn't waste time on things that might happen someday, or maybe even never."
* " There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things."
* "Just because someone hurts you doesn't mean you can simply stop loving them. It's not a person's actions that hurt the most. It's the love. If there was no love attached to the action, the pain would be a little easier to bear."
* "It’s easy when we’re on the outside to believe that we would walk away without a second thought if a person mistreated us. It’s easy to say we couldn’t continue to love someone who mistreats us when we aren’t the ones feeling the love of that person. When you experience it firsthand, it isn’t so easy to hate the person who mistreats you when most of the time they’re your godsend."
This is definitely a favourite book of mine and deserves all of the hype. ❤️❤️❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

WIP Wednesday: Custos Custodium
This scene is mostly just for fun, inspired by hunting around Jensen's apartment for food other than cereal and wondering what kind of takeout he'd get. I make no apologies. Check out the whole thing at https://archiveofourown.org/works/55686901/chapters/141357007
“Wow,” Malik said through a mouthful of cheese, “this is terrible.”
“Yeah.” Jensen chewed, swallowed, and downed half his beer. “You know how they say there’s really no such thing as bad pizza? They’re wrong.”
“Bleh. At least the veggies are edible. What’re you up to tomorrow?”
“Work. Some of us keep regular hours, you know.”
“Sorry I couldn’t make it down on the weekend. But I figured as long as I was in the neighborhood—”
Jensen shook his head. “Glad you’re here. Wish I weren’t tied up.” He eyed his half-eaten slice and picked a dubious circle of cured meat off it.
“Well, I’ve been meaning to look around the city some more. I think I have all the papers I need.”
“This is definitely not real pepperoni. I think it’s got caraway in it. And maybe sage.” He wiped his greasy fingers. “Let me see. Passport, Aug permit, commercial pilot’s license… you have your flight plan?”
“Do I need it?”
“You want to use the CPL instead of a visa, you need a flight plan taking you out of Czechia.”
“Jesus, fine. You got a printer? I don’t want your asshole local cops poking through my phone.”
“I do, yeah, and then you should be good. Anyone tells you to get a permit authentication card, they’re scamming you—let me know.”
Malik rolled her eyes. “Remind me why I flew out here?”
“Figured you wanted to show off your bed head to someone other than Maggie.”
“Yeah, screw you. You realize yours goes flat on the side you sleep on? From the gel or whatever?”
Self-conscious, he brushed his fingers along the side of his head—not that they could feel his hair. “You realize I carry a stun gun? I can make your hair do that whenever I want.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“I might.”
She matched his glare for a good five seconds before snickering. “Okay, you might, and I might deserve it sometimes. Although I’d think scooping your metal ass out of midair might get me a little grace.”
“That’s why I’d only do it if you deserved it.” Jensen scowled at his pizza, and caught her doing the same. “Pitch it? It’s pretty damn bad.”
“It is. But do you have literally any other food in this place?”
“Sure. I got, lemme see, Augmentchoos and Frogy Kousnutí.”
“Bless you.”
“The Augmentchoos have a carefully calibrated glycemic index to, uh…” He picked up the box and read off the back. “To ‘provide your augs with the all-day performance you need.’”
“Uh-huh. Sure. What about the froggy things?”
“Well, they look like little frogs. Think there’s Vitamin D in the lily pads.”
Malik sighed and slid her doughy pizza into the trash. “Fine. I’ll try the froggy friends. I have no idea how you don’t get, like, scurvy or something, eating this stuff.”
“Limes in my cocktails.” He poured two bowls of processed grains and green food dye, then fetched the milk. “Say when.”
“Ooh, big health-food guy we got over here. That’s plenty.”
“What do you think?”
“Think I’m getting hopped up on sugar.”
“Hopped up—Christ.” He sighed and grabbed a bottle from the cabinet. “Even it out with some bourbon?”
“Sure, why not? It’ll be like college all over again. Except I don’t have class to cut in the morning.”
Jensen chuckled and raised his glass. “Na zdraví.”

Double apple! 🍏 🍎
Also 🍑
🍏: Oh lord, what don’t I overuse. Dropping subjects and articles. Opening with unattributed dialogue. Triple emphasis. Run-on sentences. I could name specifics but highlighting them feels like a risky move, and I feel like I’m just barely skating by on calling it writerly voice as it is. (I’m only partly self-deprecating here; I’m hyper-aware of many of my writing tics and flourishes, and it’s a constant battle to make them intentional, and not just tics and flourishes.)
🍎: Happy domesticity, especially babies. I’m someone who has never experienced a maternal instinct/desire for children, so I just wouldn’t know how to do it in an authentic way, and I’m a lifelong, legendary hater of the trope of Cute Kids™️ being every woman’s dream. I never bought Jane being baby-crazy; it always felt pretty out of character. I’m aware she’s married with kids in the books, but on the show? Absolutely not. Until a baby shows up, and it’s all she’s ever wanted? It just really struck me as one of those meta choices—suddenly Jane loves babies, wants a baby, as a way to, I dunno, prove something, but they couldn’t even make that read as comfortably hetero, what with the plan being Baby Rizzoli Has Two Mommies.
So it’s both me not liking or understanding the innate desire to have kids, or be around kids (I mean, I don’t hate being around kids; I do lots of kid-centric arts education and love it), coupled with it just not jiving with the characters, at least for me, at least until consistent characterization became optional (season 4, I wanna say?).
Plus, or mainly: just let two powerful, professional female characters in traditionally male spaces own it. Particularly when their lives seemed satisfying and complete without babies, without even getting into that sort of gross misogyny-adjacent conservatism that a woman can only be truly happy when she’s a mother.
Uh, lots of feelings on this one, it seems 😬
🍑: The gimme here is Edith Wharton, since the whole Age of Wickedness series is basically an homage, down to the name. And as an AU-forward writer, I spend most of my time dropping them into other worlds. But let’s see—Maura is obv my baby, and she (both the character and Sasha Alexander) have a vibe that feels timeless, that could fit into pretty much any setting or era (Jane can too, but more as a generator of conflict in the individual-vs-society mold; Angie Harmon has def seen an iPhone, or at least a cordless). I absolutely see her in some candlelit ballroom wearing a fancy gown, just as bewildered and oppressed by rigid social norms as she is in the modern era. Honestly she could vibe with any of the great romantic heroines of that era—Jo March, Anna Karenina, Lily Bart (hopefully not as tragically as those last two). Certainly that has a lot to do with high society being the same as it ever was, no matter the time period, but that makes it so easy and fun for me. And Maura’s internality makes her a useful and intriguing cipher in ways that really allow for explorations of culture, society, relationships, etc by using her as the lens.
Anyway, I’m pretty sure she and Countess Olenska would’ve gotten along like a house on fire, even though it meant displacing Maura as Mrs. Manson Mingott’s favorite granddaughter when Ellen came back from Europe.

thinking about the mirchloebobby trio...it's the way they automatically believe she's an alien that makes her drawn to them at first. chloe doesn't have many friends - she has lili and milka and quentin but they don't believe like mirtala and bobby do. they go along with it, nonjudgmental, unlike mirtala and bobby, who go all in. they find her fascinating! she's an alien! from *outer space!* she talks so much about the greater galactic community and her rich history in a way that stokes their imagination and wonder, and they want to listen to her! they want to hear what she has to say, and chloe, in all her oddness, is able to be her most authentic self. she *is* her authentic self all the time, but bobby and mirtala are as all in as she is. chloe can tell them anything. she can show them anything. they'll ask questions and let her talk and talk.
and that's where bobby and mirtala differ! bobby wouldn't think of interrupting, unless she's asking what he thinks or what his people would do. mirtala is a yapper! she'll match chloe's tempo and keep the conversation going for hours! she'll backflip while she talks, too, and she might get confused, but that just means chloe can explain herself even more.
when chloe needs to be alone, wanting some silence, mirtala doesn't mind. she has two moody older siblings, so she gets chloe needs her "me time." she'll go explore! and bobby knows he isn't being rejected. that's just who chloe is, and she's the coolest kid in camp, so he'll hang out with her later. (plus, he can go collect arrowheads for his protection services without her noticing! it's a win win. he said he'd stop bullying, yeah, but they're working on him.)
as for mirtala and bobby, she's too bubbly for him, and she likes bothering him! she's scampering after him. he doesn't scare her. she's cartwheeling around his tk hand. he's jealous, obviously, but she's not rejecting him either, so he's left in a weird position where he hates that she's wedging in between him and chloe, but she's also inviting him to tea parties and trying to get him to be a clown with her (which is lame, but...the scones are good).
chloe gets to have two friends who are all in for her! and she's grabbing both of their hands. and mirtala is grabbing bobby's hand. trying to teleport to outer space through their combined psychic power, even if it fails. she's making sure they have room on her spaceship! and when she says she wants to dissect them, bobby is flattered! mirtala says chloe will have to catch her first. (lili did not know how to take chloe's dissection comment at first, but ended up nodding along.)
