you guys ever really notice how casually suicidal Ford comes off sometimes? he constantly refers to himself dying without seeming to mind the idea or fearing it, always begs those around him to get away from danger rather than save him from said danger, is generally just... reckless beyond reason sometimes and even called his mission a suicide mission when the kids went to do practically the same thing he was going to do before the portal opened... and all that.
but also... maybe it's inconsequential and not something to look so far into, but Ford also jokes about suicide at least twice in the journal. Once, where he begs in code 'KILL ME PLEASE' in reference to the Leprecorn, and the other when he recounts his time in the M dimension. While yes, they are clearly jokes, with what we know about Ford's thoughts about death already, there seems to be something more there, you know? who knows, maybe he was feeling a bit suicidal by the time he got to the m dimension and when he got back to the journal to recount his time there, he joked about it with the 'muicidal' pun to make it seem less bad or something. who knows?
i know i'm probably looking way too deep into that stuff about the jokes, but you know what they say, jokes have some truth in them!
we don’t talk enough about taskmaster being on youtube for free. i don’t mean someone uploaded the episodes to youtube i mean The Official Taskmaster Youtube has every single episode on their channel, in their entirety, For Free. they want their show to be internationally available for everyone to watch. every episode goes up the day after it airs in the uk. you can just go watch the entire show legally. for free. on youtube. go do that!!
I know some people have unfathomable beef with the term but i really don’t see the issue with transmascs describing their specific experiences with societal mistreatment and persecution as “transandrophobia”, like i think it’s good to be able to discuss specific experiences and articulate the problems you’re facing actually.
Amity Park called the Justice League for help early on in the ghost attacks.
They failed to help.
But it wasn’t out of ignorance or neglect. They genuinely did try to help—or at least to try to investigate the situation.
Something stopped them.
They physically couldn’t enter Amity Park. Even with the JL Dark trying, some effect got in the way.
The most they could do was offer advice.
And, well, the only hero they knew in the area was Red Huntress. They knew of Phantom, of course—they were paying attention—but he was a vigilante at best, maligned heavily by the news. Why would they send him things?
my very indulgent fifteen!soukoku thought is that as much as dazai likes to rile chuuya up and push his buttons he doesn’t actually do anything that would properly piss him off.
to me their arguments are a game. dazai says something dumb, chuuya reacts accordingly, dazai pokes fun at him, chuuya makes his own comeback, dazai waves it off. rinse and repeat. they yell at each other for the sake of it and because it’s familiar to them.
which means that there are some days that chuuya isn’t up for it. when nothing dazai says can even garner a reaction. so on those days dazai doesn’t even try, he just sits next to chuuya, sometimes quiet, sometimes bitching about some people that got on his nerves. he says anything and everything in those moments and he can’t even tell if chuuya’s listening or not, but he hasn’t been told to fuck off so it must be okay.
