When it comes to relationships in characters the most important thing to look at is what each character is getting from the relationship

I got that from this video essay called “The key to writing criminally good relationships” by LocalScriptMan on YouTube go check it out if you like writing stories

anyway let me use this to talk about Shadowpeach

What Macaque got out of the relationship was someone who was everything he wasn’t. Wukong was loud and ambitious and would speak up when Macaque wanted to blend in. Wukong was Macaques light to follow.

What Wukong got was someone to pull him back down to earth, someone who wasn’t scared to tell him when he was wrong but didn’t hate him for his flaws. Someone genuine.

the main problem in the relationship was that Wukong wanted more, he wanted to change the world, but Macaque was fine as long as he and Wukong were safe and together. Wukong wanted a legacy that lasted till the end of time while Macaque didn’t really care about what people thought after he died as long as he could be happy.

The breakup wasn’t either of their fault. It was always destined to happen one way or another

“Who was he?” Austin didn’t even try to lower his voice, being even more obvious as he pointed after the man as he weaved through the crowd. Your excited smile faltered, your eyes narrowing with concern. “He works with Rolling Stone Magazine. Remember when I sent him my portfolio two weeks ago? He recognized me and approached me! He said that he loved my work, and that he’ll be messaging me Monday about potential-” “He was a little too close to you, don’t you think?” His blue eyes were narrowed on you now, his lips downturned as he looked you up and down. The outfit you were wearing tonight had been a big cause of discussion earlier on in the night. The halter top was extremely low cut, and the leather pants skintight. After he had practically reduced you to tears, he had finally let up. Finally admitting that he thought you looked beautiful, he also let it slip that you wearing the outfit made him afraid of any unwanted male attention. You understood that his personal image was important, but you would think that having a sexy girlfriend would be a good thing for publicity. His fans absolutely adored you. They even went as far as to call you a “fashion icon” over the past year and a half of your relationship with Austin. It added a lot of extra pressure on you, hence why you spent so much time worrying over your own appearance. You didn’t dress for the male gaze. You dressed for yourself, so you weren’t used to so many people paying such close attention. 

“Aus, he’s pushing sixty and his wife is right there.” You pointed to the middle aged woman dancing in front of the stage, who was soon joined by her very rich husband. The live band was playing all classic rock tonight, which always attracted an older crowd. You and Austin loved making the short drive from your apartment down to the bar when you two had the time to spare. The bar wasn’t very popular amongst the younger crowd, which gave you and Austin the freedom to dance and make friends with local bands and performers. 

During the earlier stages of your relationship, things had been more relaxed. Austin had never been this possessive or overly jealous, but now that the two of you were seriously committed to one another, his behavior was off the charts. Any man that interacted with you, whether it was for work purposes or not, was a potential threat. Tonight was a perfect example of that. You didn’t necessarily blame him, but you found it easy to get annoyed with his constant huffing and puffing when the two of you were out together. Either he’d turn up the PDA until it was damn near inappropriate or he’d completely subtract you from the situation at hand, wordlessly heading in the opposite direction that the ogling man was standing. What Austin didn’t seem to be able to understand was the fact that you couldn’t control other people, or whether or not they were attracted to you. “I know how men think, baby.” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at the stupid excuse he gave for his bad behavior. Your cheeks were already heating up with embarrassment as you realized that couples at nearby tables couldn’t probably hear him since his voice was raised. You were hoping to be spared from any sort of public humiliation.  You let out a deep groan, your shoulders slumping in defeat before you merely nodded your head, starting to walk back towards the bar in order to close out your tab. It was obvious that the night was ruined, and there would be no salvaging either of your sour moods. At least- not while the both of you were out in public. The dirty blonde was quick to reach his hand out, grabbing you by the wrist to stop you. You could feel people’s eyes on the both of you, probably recognizing you and your boyfriend from tabloids. Seeing a normal couple fight in public was always slightly entertaining, but a celebrity fighting with his girlfriend in the middle of a bar? Everybody seemed to take note of your body language, and knew that it meant nothing good. You needed to lighten the mood, and quick. The two of you had been lucky enough to stay out of drama throughout your entire relationship. The last thing you needed was for someone to video the two of you in the midst of a little altercation with one another. 

“Let’s just go home, alright? These heels are killing me, and I want to take a shower.” You tried to play it off, shooting him a small smile. The actor had the inability to say no to you most of the time. He always went out of his way to take care of you- often times taking it too far, like tonight. He caved, Austin’s eyes softening as he took in the lazy half smile on your face. He was quick to nod his head, lifting your hand up so that he could kiss the back of it. You could tell that he was regretting his mini tantrum. He always did this. He’d accuse others all while calling you naive, and then make up for it by love bombing you. As much as you adored him, you were starting to grow tired of it. You knew that if you didn’t say something now, that it might get worse for you, but you didn’t want to risk a major blow out. The blue eyed boy was the type to take things to heart. Instead of moving forward and fixing his behavior, he felt guilty about it, and moped around the house for days. Despite his age, he lacked a lot of mental maturity. He gently walked you up to the bar, keeping his fingers intertwined with yours as he leaned an elbow against the stained wood. “I need to close out my tab.” He called over the loud music. The bartender nodded, rubbing his hand over his beard as he looked over the two of you. “Butler, right?” You two came in on a regular basis, so all Austin had to do was smile before the man pressed a few buttons on his POS system. A check was placed down in front of the two of you, and Austin was quick to sign his name, giving the man a hefty tip- per usual- before pocketing his card. “Thanks, man.” The older bartender nodded, waving you two off. “See you both next time.” 

The short drive back to the house was tense, but only on your end. Austin was busy rattling on about the band that had performed, and how talented the bass player was. You smiled and nodded along, piping up to agree every now and again so that he wouldn’t notice the gears steadily churning in your brain. You could tell that he was ignoring the topic of the earlier altercation completely, already regretting the way that he handled things so publicly. 

If you didn’t speak up now, then the two of you would be stuck in this toxic cycle. You were sick and tired of constantly having to check in on him. You hadn’t ever given him a reason to doubt you or your intentions with him. The two of you had all of each other’s passwords, you were constantly with one another- even on days where he was filming. How could he not possibly trust you? 

“Do you not trust me, Austin?” You blurted out. Your mouth went numb the second the words tumbled past your lips, and slowly you pressed your tongue against the roof of your mouth, cursing yourself for not waiting until you got back home to start this cursed conversation with him. He blinked a few times, turning to look at you once he had stopped at a red light. “W-What? Where the hell is this coming from?” But you could tell that he knew exactly why you had said that. You hated when he tried to play dumb. “I love you, Aus. I really do. . . but this constant jealousy and possessiveness is starting to get out of hand. I’ve never given you a reason to find me untrustworthy, have I?” He opened and closed his mouth a few times before quickly shaking his head. “No! You haven’t. . . It’s not you that I don’t trust. It’s them. You’re too nice, Y/n. I just don’t want anyone to try and take advantage of you. I’m trying to protect you.” Was that really what he thought that he was doing? You could tell by the look in his eyes that he was telling you the truth. Sure, you had never been a guru went it came to interacting with boys. Sometimes you find it hard to tell whether or not a guy was flirting with you. Back in high school you had a crush on a boy for a full year before finding out that he was gay. Never once had you gotten the hint. You might be an idiot around boys, but that didn’t mean that you would ever let anyone cross a boundary with you. You pursed your lips, trying to find the right words to use. Before you could speak the light turned green, causing him to turn his head to face the road yet again. Now that his eyes were off you, you found it easier to speak. Less pressure.  “I appreciate how much you love me, but it’s beginning to get a bit embarrassing when you act like that in public. People were staring at us-” “Then fuck them. I’m not worried about what other people think. That old guy was clearly drooling over you. I go to the bathroom for two minutes, and all of a sudden there’s this guy all over-” “It’s my dream job, Austin! He wasn’t being rude or disrespectful towards me or our relationship. He didn’t even compliment my physical appearance once. He told me that my portfolio was diverse and that I’d make a good fit for their current team. If he had heard you, then that could have ruined everything that I’ve worked all of my life for.” You looked over to catch a glimpse of Austin’s pale face. You could see the weight of your words finally hitting him. He had almost ruined your career as a journalist, and it would have all been over his petty sense of jealousy and possession.

He's not really one to initiate things like kisses, so you'll have to take the reigns on that part cause he's a little shy! (and he's worried he might hurt you with one of his tusks)

He has no problem initiating things like hugs and cuddles though

If you ever come into his study while he's working on something, he'll happily plop you down on his lap and explain what he's doing while he works

You two are so comfortable and casual around each other that someone could mistake you two for just friends at a glance

OK IM IN THE CHAPTER 23 OF THE FTFO BUT I NEED TO TALK ABT THIS FANFIC AND HOW ITS SO GOOD.

(WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS) God i love fanfics, especially when i found fanfics like THAT. I have absolutely no words, the first thing i should say its that i love how original the idea is and how the author putted efford to make Ink what he really is, a pacifist, he is a different Ink but still have a essence of a Ink y'know? Many fanfics dont do that, you could read, change the names to any new character bc you can't recognize any trait of the original story, this one carries a original concept, simple, but dont take away the essence of the characters.

AND AS I SAID BEFORE simple and original concept, THAT TURNS OUT TO BE JUST A BIT OF A WHOLE STORY, i really like in some fanfics the whole concept of a open multiverse that people can in and go and have different universes for different purposes, i liked a lot of how careful the author was of secret identities and sense when it comes to the gang members, you can really fell danger and worried abt the characters, the way they tell Ink abt the Omega timeline its not in a manipulated way, they REALLY believe that and you understand, bc in this story theres not a entirely 'good' or 'evil' side, theres just sides that fell into a way of violence in worlds that the only answer was violence. Its another perspective abt the situation, but sill not just doing "oh the bad guys are actually good and everyone just misunderstood", no no, they can be really toxic, but they can rely on eachother and understand their mistakes.

I love stories that discuss abt pacisfism and relashionships, that prefer on rely on not fighting but trying to understand your enemy, but not being naive, just hopeful to make peace without war (and exploring more abt the cycle of violence and revenge)

Anyway, if i write everything i think i will be here all night, i will continue reading by tomorrow and maybe maybe do some drawings of my favorite parts

Hey flight, I want you help with opinion about something. Can we consider Chloé a toxic abusive daughter to André? I saw someone saying that when it comes to André distancing himself for Chloé, leaving her custody to Audrey and adopting Zoé, was good for him because Chloé was toxic to him. Because yes, children can be toxic or even abusive to their parents and it's not always said parents' fault, but I had never seen things regarding their relashionship from that perspective before. What do you think?

I think that's the perspective the show is trying to put forwards, but I don't think it works super well? I mean, Chloe's definitely rude and demanding of Andre, but she's not in a position of power here, which means that her ability to "abuse" one of her parents is limited: while it's definitely possible for kids to abuse their parents, that kid usually has to have some kind of power over their parent in order for that to be possible.

Toxic? Yeah, sure, that just requires the other person to have a negative influence. But abuse? Ascribes a level of power to Chloe that she doesn't really have in that relationship.

Some things I had to say about the article that propably anyone will read but I want to say them out loud (I added some thoughts, yes I keep thinking about it)

1. I knew about this case back in may 2022 and started to read all I can about the accusations. By that time I was not a huge fan, only know him because of CMBYN and SN and praised his performance. Up to this point, I think that what we read about the AirMail article is a confirmation of some things his fandom has already said during those years:

- The lack of proof and inconsistencies of his accusers and how stalker one of them was from day one.

- The fact that his ex was part of the smear campaign and how a destructive person she is.

2. It also confirmed something that was pretty obvious, although some people believed it was not true: the affair, the cheating

- Was he a cheater? Yes he was, did he fucked up the marriage? I believe so but I think a relationship is about two people too. Thus, we would never know 100% what happened behind the scene. My conclusion is that none of them was a saint in the relationship, and it was toxic.

- Does it make him a bad, horrible despicable person? I think what it makes him is more a terrible partner, a toxic one, considering his explanation in the article about his other relashionships.

3. In the article it also stated things that were shocking and actually sad for me.

- The attempt of drowning: I have to say that when the "docu" was release last year I thought about how impactfull was going to be for him, mentally and emotionally. And that it could be the end for him, in terms that at some point we would wake up one day to find out he was gone. Well, by reading that he though about it, at the beginning of the scandal, really moved me.

- The sexual trauma he had as a child and how that leaded to his view of sex, it was really unfortunate. Was it a PR way to get forgiveness? As the article stated, is a common tactick, but I am not 100% sure it was the intention because also in the article, he stated that episode is not an excuse for his behaviour towards those women, it was more to find out the origin of his personal problems and the way he saw sex.

- I want to comment somthing here, since I have been reading about it yesterday: his sexuality. I think this topic is nobody's business. Whether some say the article is "forcing" readers to believe he is straight, to me, it is non sense. The article is not about his sexuality is about his personal traumas, issues, mistakes, his side of the story in terms of the accusations. When it was mentioned that "he had never had sex with a man" it was related to the colombian guy and Effie's comments.

4. About her ex, I might be honest, at the beginning I really was on her side. I mean, if you find out your husband cheated for so long, and started to have questionable behaviour and also is acussed of something so delicate. How would I feel? I would have felt terrible, disapointed, I wont even wanted to know about him anymore. But there are also some points:

-After reading about her and now confirming it through this article. My empathy for her dissapeared completely . In fact, I find her anmoying and somebody whose obsession to show her perfect-imperfect life makes her fake and irritating.

- Her way to react to everything: its really disapointing coming from someone who had everything on her side to be the smarter one. And it confirm the idea of "being older does not makes you more mature". Since she is older than him, but if she was mature or more clever she would have handle the situation better. Okey, as I said, the impact of a cheating specially after so many years can make you do things. He is the father of her children, embarrasing him for being a cheater would have been enough.

- But take it further to create this whole campaign for years and confabulate with the mistresses and accused him of r@p* and violance towards his children, leading to distroying his career, was too much.

- What I wonder is why? If you know your partner cheeted on you for years, why stay with him? Is more powerfull your intention to have the perfect family than separarte from a person that clearly does not love you anymore? Did he promissed he wont cheat again but keep doing it? Was it all about the money? We would never know for sure.

5. His process of healing. It is good to know that he is working on It, that he made peace with himself and his is finding his way to have a normal living. It Is his right, even after his wrongdoings, he has the right to start over and make a reflextion of this actions. Is people going to forgive him? I dont think so nor I think he should care about that. if he is fine is enough because unfortunatelly people in sm are toxic.

6. About the way he reflected on his actions. I think it is mature from him to take responsability. That is what anyone who made mistakes should do, but here I have some comments:

- I do not understand how people are mad or critize him. What did they expect? That he accepted he rape people, that he is cannibal? The article was his side of the story, and explain his version and supported it with information. Is the same way those women have done the last 2 years.

- About his comparison with RDJ and others. I think every story is different but in general I understand that what he meant was that those people struggle but at the end they change and are better now.

- there is one thing I did not like about and it was the "hero' death" comment. I like Armie. He seems like a genuine, honest person who had and is dealing with his issues. But I dont think it was good to compare his situation to "heros's death" since it make it look like he is the "hero" which clearly he wasn't nor isn't. Jus saying that you have to hit rock bottom to later start again for good would have been enough.

7. His friends. I have read that some questioned the way his friends commented about Armie. In my personal opinion, his friends are good ones. If I were one of his friends I would definetely talk to him and tell him how an ashole he was, I would even being disapointed, in addition to the fact that I would asking him if he raped somebody or not. Even more, if I warned him and at the end did the opposite, I would tell him "I told you". Does it make me a bad friend? I dont think so. A bad friend would have been if I leave him alone, or didnt support him, didn't try to help him to understand that what he did was wrong. A true friend tells you when you fucked up, but that does not mean they will leave you. I think they are those kind of friends.

8. About his career. I wish he come back. As I said I really like the way he act. For me, he has the qualities to be a good actor and he loves it. (The part that really broke me was when he said: "they didnt want me to act, but also they dont want me to have a normal life either"). In addition, I think:

- if that happen or not we dont know. Many did not like him before the scandal, less they do now. There is nothing he can do and I dont think HW would do anything.

- If Luca or any independent director cast him would be really nice. Based on his performances, he perfomes better on this type of films than the big budget ones.

- But at the same time, I think: if I were him and after being treated that way in the industry I work for 10 years, would I really wanted to comeback? If so I would have to see all those people who turn their backs on me or make fun of me or did not say anything when I needed the most. Personally I would felt weird.

9. About the reaction of people and the media. Well there is not too much to say:

- Show biz media really covered the most controvertial things, left aside the most important parts. In general, they kept the same narrative otherwise they would be seem as unbias and as bad journalism. Does it surprised me? Nop.

- But what I really congratulate Armie is for not choosing them as the media to release his side of the story. It was pretty smart I might say. I enjoy the idea of how Variety, Hollywood reporter and the rest might have been feeling to find out that he give the exclusive to the AirMail.

- about the people, well it does not suprised me how hypocrites people are in sm. The way they wish him d*ad and do not want to hear the side of his story, confirm how less interested are in knowing the whole picture compared to how eager are to distroy people.

10. About justice, I hope those people get the consecuentes of their actions. It is not fair for the Metoo movement and any sa survivor to have people who stained the cause and such delicate matter for their convenience and mental problems. Armie said he emotionally abused those women therefore he is paying the consecuences. It is time for the rest to get the same.

In general it was an interested article and I am really happy that he decided to talk. It was his right and also I think it was necessary.

If people believe him or not, that is another story.

Yeah, nothing about their relationship has ever really been on the same page. I guess I understand shipping them from El's POV, because initially she seems pretty sweet in the relationship, but not really after this season. Anyway, I talk about their dynamic more here bc there's just...so much to unpack with them.
