Pages from a zine I made about disability. You can view the full zine on my itchio as well as download your own prinatble copy! Payment no longer optional as I’ve had some emergency expenses so the zine is currently £2.50, but this is a temporary thing.

You have to convince yourself that after he has broken down and sobbed from the pain and fear that he picks himself and his wounds up off the floor and continues onwards. You have to make yourself believe that it is better to bleed than to be dead. You have to believe that this life is worth living too.” ED.

Y’ALL WE DID IT! My ‘A Rose By Any Other Name’ zine is finally complete and available to read. HUGE thank you to everyone who submitted and contributed work. Your stories and differing perspectives have made putting this together an absolute joy. Reading through submissions was simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking.

I know I’ve disappeared recently, I’m sorry!! I’ve been going through a lot of life stuff, along with mental health struggles so I’ve been quite absent recently. However! I have put together a mini zine for a local art fair next weekend, and I’m pretty proud of it and it’s message so I thought I share it here :)

Ummmm I kinda just finished my first zine, everybody…it has some of my oc poetry from this blog with a new poem I wrote this year and it’s called Spineless Lovers. I’ve been working on it for a year now and I’m very excited for people to get to read it. It’s just waiting a couple finishing touches before I do my first print run. Let me know if you want a copy, I’m willing to ship within the continental US if you’re willing to pay postage+cover price.

Since I’m currently unemployed and waiting on disability and in desperate need of ANY kind of income right now, I’ll be selling physical copies (hopefully in local independent bookstores? I have reason to hope for this 🤞🏻), as well as a digital PWYW version on my itch page. Hoping to make community copies available with that as well for other trans and/or disabled folks that maybe are in similar financial situations to myself, ha. I’m also hoping to set up a ko-fi before I go to print, but I still have to look into that. Much to do!

Anyways that’s just a lil bit of what’s been cooking this summer! I’m doing a lot of open mics and workshops and stuff, I’m going to a poetry publishing workshop this weekend actually.

Our new zine Chronically Invisible by Jessie Ziegenbein is out now!! 🌿✨

"Hi! I’m Jessie, a nonbinary college student

studying mechanical engineering. I live with various disabilities and chronic pain, which has impacted the way I view and interact with the world. My intention for this zine is to highlight some of the unique struggles people with chronic illness and other invisible disabilities go through, though there are many more not covered here. Some of the experiences talked about are applicable to any kind of disability, though are often accentuated by a disability being invisible. My hope is that everyone can learn something new about what it’s like living with a chronic illness or disability, and go on to treat everyone with kindness and empathy despite how they appear to be doing on the outside."

Fuckin' hell... This isn't the latest screenshot of what all I've gotten done for this zine series I'm working on, and I'm not even close to being done yet, but I figured I'd share something here real quick.

I might end up writing a blog post on my webjournal/wordpress blog/thingy after this is done to let everyone in on the absolute butt-fuckery that has been going on behind the scenes.

Like great galloping ghostly ghouls, I've potentially got a major, 2-day festival coming this October, and I want to make sure I have everything ready to go by at least August.

i make zines because i love small and cheap ways to share art, poetry, ideology, fun things, whatever you want. it's a recent revival of marginalized history - black history, queer history, poor history - on how we share information and culture with each other. as a queer and lower income artist (and a raging punk) i wanna bring back this piece of culture!!!
