I started playing Traveller's Rest last night and I think I've sunk 8hrs into it already? Admittedly the first 3hrs were spent serving gruel and water and trying everything I could think of to try and cook literally anything........ except the only thing I didn't try was advancing the main objectives. So like. Doing what the game is telling you to do.
And as it turns out, when you do what the game tells you to do, it rewards you with free upgrades, like a kitchen. With an oven. So you can cook.
😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
So anyway come on down to Helga's Watering Hole where Helga serves you water out of a hole in her front yard and charges you a silver for it and you like it. 🫵
(now serving ✨ porridge ✨ for a limited time)

You make me wonder...
...Did I live my life right?
Guess who's drawing for another wip instead of actually working on it!

I'm currently replaying Pokemon Violet for the second dlc coming up and I'm just over here going "Yea..... the Area Zero gang are a polycule and I'm roleplaying that." Arven is the first acquired in the polycule. Nemona will be second and then Penny? she just joins randomly like "yea I like these people." and then she goes "Oh shit. I *LIKE* Like these people."

Travellers Rest is a chill tavern and inn simulator that is easy to pick up and hard to put down. One of the things added to the v0.5.2.0 build was the possibility of getting a parrot and training it.
To get your bird
I recommend getting at least 14 gold before going.
After day 24 a new NPC will start spawning every Wednesday and Thursday after 20pm. To locate it, go south of your farm until reaching the river and turn right to the alcove to find Crowley’s campsite and wares. If you are at the location when it turns 20pm he won’t spawn so you need to leave and enter again.
You are going to need to buy a parrot egg (9g 10s) , 20 Bird Crackers (15s each, 3g in total ), and a Bird Perch (the cheapest one is 1g 50s) totaling 13g 60s without any haggling upgrades.
The cages allow you to store your bird and aren’t necessary.
Hatch the egg
Keep the parrot egg in your inventory and go around with your day. It will take around three days give or take until it hatches naturally. Don’t skip the day and once it is ready the game will give a prompt to name your parrot. The color you get seems to be random.
Train your parrot
Enter decoration mode and place the Perch inside your tavern. I recommend placing it somewhere you can keep an eye on your parrot. Still in this mode, place the parrot on the perch.
Throughout the day it will say bad stuff ( -40 reputation ) and good stuff ( +100 reputation ), and sometimes your cat will bother the bird and it will be unable to say anything. Whenever it says positive things, give it a cracker. The cracker can be given twice a day and it will take 10 days to completely train your parrot.

methinks about that one leak way back of admittedly highly uncertain reliability but was nonetheless claiming that childes character during early genshin development (at least at one point) was unaligned with the fatui and instead written as like the actual canonical travel companion to aether/lumine in the games story.
and then like. looks at his constellation quite literally depicting and directly linking him to an interdimensional being endlessly voyaging among the stars.
its curious. preeetty curious.

Videogames I wish were real #30
A cozy slice-of-life game that is Spiritfarer meets Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away. You run a spa (onsen) for mythological creatures. You can prepare baths using different kinds of soaps, oils, and bath bombs. There's a small farm where you can grow crops and you can fish in nearby ponds and rivers. You can use the produce you obtain via farming and fishing to cook dishes for your customers or sell it in the nearby town. Some npc sellers in the quaint little town near your spa will sell different kinds of seeds, many exclusive items and furniture you can use to decorate your spa to your liking. You'll also be able to befriend some of the town npcs and even romance and marry some of them. Besides your spa you also have small hotel where your guests can rest during their visits, and you'll be able to decorate the rooms to your liking as well as to suit the needs of different types of mythological creatures. By talking to the creatures and fulfilling their requests you'll learn more about them and forge friendships. Some mythological creatures might even be interested in staying and working there! As your reputation grows you'll be able to expand the spa, accommodate a wider variety of customers and get closer to your goal of turning your spa into the perfect vacation spot!
Similar videogames that actually exist: Yokai Inn (suggested by anon), Spiritfarer, Traveller's Rest

Eight has two Odux mounts whomst he received as gifts from Zakuulan locals on his travels; these two beasts produce milk and cheese, so he regularly makes those products and occasionally sells them to fund his wanderings around the countryside of Wild Space.
That is not their only purpose; given the necessity of a spy to travel abroad without raising suspicion, Eight was tasked with gathering espionage for the Alliance and scouting potential allied villages/difficult-to-reach enclaves while under the guise of an oddjobs nomadic mercenary for hire. Due to the Eternal Empire's aggressive advancement in tech, it was a unanimous decision for him to go with relatively little technology in order to avoid surveillance, save for the occasional radio and report. As a result, Eight spent most of his time living on the back of his animals and caravan-ing to parts most remote while adapting to life on the move.
Being from a semi-nomadic culture himself, Eight took to never staying in one place and gathering reconnaissance from the locals like a fish to water--even building a mobile house-like structure atop his beasts so he could sleep in the saddle while the Odux' were on the move. Lana's mobile Intelligence did come into fruition...though not in the way she expected. No one could deny the efficacy of an operative permanently out in the field however, and it was approved for Eight to carry out his work like so and as he saw fit, becoming one of the most vital pieces of Alliance intelligence due to being largely invisible to a high-tech Empire.
