It almost looked like he was adorably self-conscious. “Most of the alphas in our kingdom have their own packs. But my mother is alpha queen because she is alpha over them all. She leads and protects the whole kingdom like her own pack.”

Stiles smiled. “That sounds kind of nice actually. I didn’t realize that pack dynamics extended across the whole kingdom like that. It makes it sound like what your mother does is more . . . maternal . . . than just a normal queen.”
