The Rynth Family

What happens when a lizard and a fish fall in love-

But here we have the Rynth family! One of my more crackier ships with absolutely no reasoning behind it, but eh, that’s what terminal shipping does to ya.

Synth and Riff met after one of Riff’s concerts. Barb, Riff, and the rest of their band came to Trollstopia to perform on day, and Synth was invited by Branch to come to the performance. Synth was absolutely blown away by the music, but most of all by the drummer. Just something about how incredibly fast he moved, even slamming his own face into the drums was just amazing! So after the concert, when Branch offers to take Synth to meet Barb and the band, Synth jumps on the opportunity.

Imagine Synth’s surprise when the drummer turns out to be Barb’s younger brother, and a Prince no less! Despite this, Synth walked right up to him and shook his hand, going on a long winded spiel about how amazing he found his drumming and how excited he was to meet him, so on and so forth. Riff was taken aback by the excitable techno troll, never having someone come up to compliment him specifically after a show. He shyly thanked him, keeping how he found the Techno Ambassador to be fucking adorable to himself, but did nervously asked to exchange contact info.

The two became fast friends after that night. Synth would call or text him and talk for hours, while Riff would just sit back and listen. After a few months of close friendship, Riff worked up the courage to ask Synth out on a date. Synth was over the moon about it, having started to crush on the Rock Prince himself, and the officially started dating. They hadn’t dated for an entire year before Synth couldn’t take it anymore and popped the question to Riff. Riff immediately said yes, and two were married.

After they wed, Riff moved to Trollstopia, since Synth had duties to fulfill full time as a Councilman. There were some bittersweet tears between Barb and Riff (and maybe Barb pulling Synth to the side and threatening him that if he ever hurt her brother she’d find him and end his entire existence), and Riff officially moved to Trollstopia.

Riff began working as a musical mentor for young trolls, teaching them about rock music and how to play it. It was a few years after they married that Synth found out he was carrying an egg, and the two became parents. And very quickly had two more in rapid succession lol

Riff and Synth love being dads, and raised their kids to appreciate all kinds of music. When Hatchet fell in love with country music, and began working on his own spin on it, the two were over the moon about it. When Hatchet decided to move to Lonesome Flats to pursue his career, the two were sad to see him go, but fully supportive of his dreams. When all three of their kids ended up taking on musical careers, becoming extremely successful super quickly, it was too much for the two. Just look at our babies! They’re so grown up and amazing, omg I can’t take this I’m gonna cry-

They currently still live in Trollstopia with their two youngest, Viper and Lantern, but they can often be found in Lonesome Flats visiting Hatchet or in Techno Reef attending Viper’s raves. They two own copies of all their kids records and show them off proudly to anyone who will listen for two seconds.

And that’s the Rynth fam! Very cheesy love story, but they strike me as a cheesy couple xP And this piece was actually the first one I made exclusively digitally! Super proud of it~

Bruce has decided to mess with Hal.

Batman: I gave birth to them lantern.

Green Lantern: I- what?

Batman: *deadpan* I. Gave. Birth. To. Them.

Green Lantern: But- I- you're a man.

Batman: I don't know how that is relevant to this conversation.

Batman: I must depart I have important business elsewhere.

Hal tells everyone, no one believes him.

Laughing at the idea of Hal being off-world so much that he misses a lot of pop culture news, so there will occasionally be an interaction where Hal is like “Man, Prince hasn’t made any music in a while huh?” and Barry or someone will have to be like “Hal... Prince died years ago”

After reading a post by @lastoneout about their Trolls Tangled AU I decided to draw Branch & Poppy during the Lantern Scene.

I also love the idea of Branch & Poppy being Eugine & Rapunzel, also I agree that “I can see the Light” suits them very both.

Photo Op

I decided I wanted a cool photo op for my booth at LA Comic Con (find me in booth 2027 December 1-3), and thought it would be fun to be photographed with life-sized action figures.

I spent weeks working on laying out my action figure background. It took me forever to pick the action figures. I reached out to people for ideas, and everyone had their own (and all good) but I realized that I had to have it be MY top action figures. The figures that I'd never sell no matter what.

After that, it took me just as long to photograph them, something I'm not great at. After that, I messed with the layout for a long time. I struggled to get things in the proper scale, until I realized I could just add an 8x8 grid (the backdrop itself will be 8x8). I had it as good as I could make it, then I sent it to the printer.

I thought all was well, until I checked my junk mail box and found an urgent message. The resolution was low on the figures and they were blurry when blown up. I tried to export a higher quality image, but had issues with compression. Finally, the printer (which was located in India, I didn't know this until I started to deal with customer service, which was awesome by the way). They agreed to recreated my image at a higher resolution free of charge.

Come Thanksgiving morning, I am on the phone with someone finalizing the design, getting it printed, and shipping it off. It's scheduled to make it to me by next Thursday, a day before I need it. I'm super nervous it will be delayed, but will just hope it comes on time and focus on the things I can control. I hope to see you at LA Comic Con posing in front of my favorite action figures.

Green lantern : Ain't no way Brucie motherfucking Wayne is your sugar daddy.

*Batman pulls out a collar written in gold "bruce's batty boy" and shows it to lantern*

Batman: I am not deceiving you Green lantern. I now must go Gotham needs me. *Dramatic cape flip and disappearance*

Bruce had that collar in his pockets for three months.

What do you think of a Reader as a teenage anti-hero. They have a pretty upbeat personality, don't ask why. They like to tease others and especially they like to stimulate competition for the love of Bruce from Batkids

Bruce: I don't think my kids love me.

Reader: *Shows Bruce the Batkids arguing about who is Bruce's best kid*

I have thought about Anti-hero Reader on the regular. (I keep getting distracted by it, too.)

I tend to make an OC and then change their background for different scenarios. I have thoughts of an Anti-Hero!Smalltown!Reader that causes chaos cause therapy in Gotham is shady AF, but this version of Reader wouldn’t be related to the Bats at all. (I kinda wish I had written and posted that version, but I wanted to do a neglect story. Maybe after the neglect story I’ll do it. I would still keep the weather powers, though. I came up with a fun vigilante name for them already.)

Both versions of Reader, however, are petty and teasing.

So here’s a short list of petty things Reader would do to be passive aggressive.

Calls everyone, except Bruce, daddy. (Damian is exempt because he’s still technically Reader’s brother.)

Claims Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) is their favorite Justice League member. Would also call him Daddy. Yes, in that way.

Would claim Jon as their new brother, he is also exempt from the daddy name due to being so precious. (Of course, he will be salty about it.)

Buys suspicious things to throw in the trash. Reader knows they’re the world biggest snoops, might as well make things awkward for everybody when they do.

Will ask questions and say things they know will start arguments, even if it means playing stupid. “Is water wet?” “The earth is flat.” This also includes triggering competitions between everyone.

Will absolutely roast the ever loving shit out of each respective member’s alter ego right to their face.

Refers to Batman as Stellaluna.

Reader is the epitome of Bruce’s Brucie Wayne persona. They play bimbo/himbo/jimbo act just for the troll factor. And, the family will fall for it at times.

I might add more to this later. I was very excited about this ask. Unfortunately, I had to rest because it was grocery day and it’s hotter than the devil’s left testicle where I live. Sucks me dry of all my energy. (I have part Six pretty much done, too. It’s coming. I’m just dragging my feet.)
