Remarkable the number of people that find it necessary to protect their eyes in such a dimly lit room.

I'm not a fan and I don't intend to become one, but one of my nerdy hobbies is tracking streaming TV ratings and The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is amazingly resilient. It aired during the same time as Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra's horrendous spy drama Citadel, which cost 300 million dollars for 6 episodes and only charted once on the Nielsen streaming chart (towards the very bottom). Usually male-oriented procedurals from Amazon Prime chart quite easily even though they don't get talked about on social media, but Citadel cost more, was promoted more, and yes fell absolutely flat in the U.S. It's allegedly popular overseas but there's been zero real data to indicate that.
Maisel charted easily despite getting little promotion and even now is bringing in 145 million minutes a week as of a week ago. I wondered for years if it was genuinely popular or it just got the kind of audience Mad Men did (numbers were small, but it was most popular among older, wealthy, urban viewers). And it turns out it was genuinely popular.
