What are your opinions about Josh’s death?

I personally found it to be the most random and unnecessary death in all of TVDU.

Josh's death was so sad to me but not super surprising. After all, TVDU loves to kill off any diversity.

It was incredibly random and unnecessary and I could see it being the most random/unnecessary. There were a lot of deaths that upset me but there was some reason for them. Josh's death seemed to have almost zero reason except to unite him with Aiden in the afterlife. But why couldn't they just bring Aiden back? They bring characters back all of the time in TVD, but in TO they really limited it to a few characters.

Josh's death didn't even really have an impact on anyone. Marcel is sad temporarily but it doesn't really push him to do anything or teach him any lessons. Josh's death does basically nothing for the show.

After season one, Josh becomes a very underutilized character. He is really only there for random comedic moments. He is a newbie vampire but that makes it all that more endearing that he manages to survive so much. It truly shows what loyalty and found families can do. I wish they would have shown more of his relationships with Marcel and Davina.

I would have loved to see Josh live and be in Legacies. He would have been a great friend to Hope and could have really helped the vampire community.

What is interesting about this quote from the Tribune is that it was written FOUR years ago, long before any strike action by NHS workers.

It is hard not to conclude that successive Conservative governments have been deliberately running down the NHS because they want to privatise health care.

Yesterday in Parliament (11/01/23), Rishi Sunak accused Keir Starmer of playing “petty politics” when criticizing NHS waiting times. Maybe Mr Sunak should say that to the relatives of the 417 people who are dying each week who would otherwise be alive right now but for the delays to A&E treatment.

It was reported on the BBC’s "More of Less" statistics programme yesterday,  that Stuart McDonald, a professional actuary (someone who analyses statistics for a living), has calculated that 600,000 people per month have more than a 4 hour A&E attendance wait., and that NHS data shows that the longer the wait the more likelihood there is of someone dying. At present this means there are 417 AVOIDABLE deaths per week due to the increased waiting times at A&E.

The longer this government prolongs the strikes and understaffing of the NHS and social care, the more people will die.

I'm willing to bet you REAL money Bela listened to Alcina's warnings (like a good obedient daughter) and avoided the cold just like her mother said. When she said this line she was genuinely confused and scared at what was happening to her body which tells you that for almost a hundred years she never put herself in any situation where she was exposed to the cold because this is legitimately her first time seeing the cold's effect on her.

Cassandra, on the other hand, did say "I have to get warm" which means that she knows what's happening probably because this is not her first time dealing with the cold and its effect on her (it is probably a mix of rebelling against her mother's rules and finding out the hard way what the cold does to their bodies and also because of some maids' assassination attempts because they always want to start with the most dangerous sister thinking it's actually doable). Anyway, as I was saying, Cassandra wasn't surprised at her body's reaction to the cold because she's been there before and she was kinda used to it but Bela was dealing with it for the first time in her life and she was genuinely scared/surprised at what's happening.

Me smacking myself with a newspaper: You can’t know for sure that the gay subtext in the Jeeves books was intentional and it would be bad practice to declare intentionality on behalf of a dead author who can’t confirm or deny it. The fact that Jeeves and the Tie That Binds was the first Jeeves book to be published after the UK legalized homosexuality is probably just a coincidence. I’m sure he wasn’t even thinking about that.
