Turkey stopped all trade with Israel as of Thursday, according to two Turkish officials familiar with the matter, adding to already high-running tensions between the once-close allies over the war in Gaza.
The move expands last month’s restriction on some Turkish exports to Israel, as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan steps up criticism of the Jewish state and tries to consolidate support among conservative voters at home.
Trade between the 2 countries was worth $6.8 billion in 2023.
Activists on aid flotilla say US is pressuring Turkey to prevent them from sailing to Gaza.
May the US government watch as all they've worked for fall apart.
Don't fall for their meaningless threats and bribery; they're akin to the foams of the wave that rises in the ocean yet scatters and fades as it reaches the shore: as they fade and get soaked up into nothingness.
This is my first year being into a sport ever in my life and I didn’t know how genuinely invested I’d be in who wins this goddamn cup. I feel like I’m going insane, I care about the outcome of these sports games so much I’m driving my family crazy. I have no idea what I’m gonna do in the summer??? Rewatch old games till my eyes bleed ig??
Any advice for the newbie oh wise person who has a good while enjoying seasonal sports under their belt
for me, the finals are kind of 50/50. obviously if my team is participating, I'm catching every second. but sometimes it's teams i care very little about, like the tampa-habs series in 2021, and i'm only passively aware it's happening. this series, however, has awoken a third, separate way to engage with the scf, which is with the knowledge that vegas is in the top like 3 evilest teams and so this has now become a battle of good vs evil. well, good-ish vs evil.
the summer really does suck, even more so because the community on here is such a big part of why I watch hockey and it goes a little silent as well. i think one of the cool things you can do during the summer is make things. I don't know about you, but i've suddenly got all of these 3 hour chunks of time opening up where i'd usually sit down and watch a game. maybe that time can be repurposed to create video edits or draw or write or find a fun new way to engage in fandom while you've got the time.
or you can do what a lot of other people do and get into baseball for the summer
i used to spend so many hours reading fanfiction. i have since filled the time either with actual books or zelda and i feel like i’m going out of my mind. what they don’t tell you about leaving ao3 is that you really do just leave ao3
A Syrian refugee woman carries her belongings as she crosses into Turkey at the Akcakale border gate in Sanliurfa province, Turkey. Where can I find Free Palestine protests and Ceasefire protests?
A super international and continually updated list of actions can be found at Samidoun: Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network's:
Calendar of Resistance for Palestine 2024
They list events by date, then alphabetically by country, then by city - and it's common for them to have dozens of actions listed for a single date, especially on the weekends.
The United States especially often has 40+ events on a single day, especially on the weekends.
Events are posted with links to the event info posted by whoever's hosting the vast majority of the time.
Look blow the read-more for a list of many of the countries that have been on this protest calendar, in alphabetical order, since I know so many websites/lists of actions are country-specific
*Obviously this isn't the only good source of listings for protest events - there are many others. This is by far the biggest/most international roundup I've found, though, so I started with this. If you know another good place for finding ceasefire protests/events, please feel free to add it in the notes, bc I'm planning to put a bigger roundup together once I find enough other sites
