I am the last person to assume whether a writer is using ai or not but to be honest, sometimes it is so blatantly clear that they are indeed using ai. Because how do you go from not even knowing which words to capitalize, where to put a period or a comma or how to use the right grammar to writing with zero fucking mistakes in like less than six months?
I know people progress but that much and in all aspects all at once? It is even more sad when readers are attracted more to these stories rather than the ones written by the actual writers.
Also, because this is my first time experiencing shit like this, I am surprised how much it is weighing me down. I wonder if there are more writers who come across this, and it makes me feel sad for them when I think about it.

NOTICE: As more and more fanfic writers are using generative AI for their works (you uncreative dweebs), I hereby swear on everything I hold dear that I have not and will NEVER use generative AI in ANY of my written work. Everything I post will be organically and creatively my own.

As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever.
make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing.
spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us.

(via Writing (& Editing) Doesn't Have to Suck - by SJStone)
What I see so often from writers is what I call “the slog.”
The slog is real, and I totally understand when writers struggle, when you see writers talking about struggling to get 300 words on paper, when writers lament about the editing process, the marketing process, the querying process. This is the slog. The pure joy of writing, like any relationship, doesn’t persist 24/7/365. You have to do the work. You have to want it. You have to put in the time. You have to love it, even when you hate it. Like any good relationship, sometimes writing loves you, and sometime it hates you. And it’s okay.
The slog is real, and it’s coming for you. But it doesn’t have to be awful. I mean, it can be; it will be, but it doesn’t have to be. There are ways that you can sidestep the slog to some degree and make all that writing and editing and marketing fun. You just have to do different.
And so, here are some tips I have for you that I’ve found help me keep going through thick and thin, through dealing with the slog when every word carries a price and even when the words flow like wine and you’re drunk on the flow of your story.

Tell Your Story: The Human Element in AI Writing
I hope you’re writing about your topic every day for at least a few minutes. Writing every day, even for just fifteen minutes per day will help you reach your writing goals. Writing doesn’t have to be difficult, especially when dealing with current trends. The AI Trend One trend that we face in today’s nonfiction market is AI. As we have all seen during the past couple of years, AI has been…
