Ever since the portal accident, Danny has always seemed a bit… off, to other people. But even before that, he’d always been seen as a bit of a weird kid. The people of Amity Park were, even at the start, a bit used to it.

The people of Gotham, however, were not.

If anything, they were the opposite. Living in the ‘city of crime’ had built within them keen survival instincts. Instincts that went on full blast in the halfa’s vicinity.

Most simply avoided him. Homeless shelters turned him away. Jobs, even the less than legal ones, hesitated to hire him. Sometimes people would even call the cops if he stuck around in any one place for too long.

Not even the city’s mysterious vigilantes trusted him. He sometimes caught glimpses of their masked eyes following him from the shadows. Watching. Waiting for him to show his true colors.

Or maybe he was just hallucinating. He couldn’t be entirely sure. He didn’t dare transform and risk bringing down further suspicion on himself, nor could he ask anyone to corroborate for what he saw either. So instead, he just curled further in on himself. Surreptitiously using his powers to steal the bare necessities for himself and avoiding everyone.

Not even during the worst of the anti-ghost sentiment in Amity had Danny felt so alone.

A young humpback whale came right up to our ship in Antarctica!! I heard its exhale from my room and SPRINTED out to the balcony.

It has a golden tail!!

Anytime I want to redraw any of my childhood art I have to face the fact that it's going to be my little pony. I am not exaggerating when I say that was all little me wanted to draw.

So have a doodle loosely based off of some human designs I did 13+ years ago. Are they accurate? No probably not, but I haven't seen the show in forever and only made it to around season 5 before the family turned off cable. Don't know why I didn't try to continue watching online, but I never did. I really should rewatch and finish the series...

realising that mike and will canonically see each other as heroes not just because will thinks mike is the leader and mike thinks will is strong enough to defeat the mind flayer, but because they’ve grown up playing heroes and writing their characters as such. mike tries to replicate that bond he has with the party by calling el a superhero but the word doesn’t carry the same connotation for her. it’s more burdening than it is complimentary.

Patternmaking, both basic and creative: The Shapes of Fabric

Once upon a time I used to follow the blog of someone who worked in the fashion industry who would write irate posts on fitting and quality issues, teaching me in the process why ready to wear trousers never fit properly, exactly how to set a sleeve, and why T-shirts sometimes start to turn themselves into corkscrews once you've washed them. I'm pretty sure this is not that blog, but I think I found it when I was trying to find the aforementioned one again.

The Shapes of Fabric is a really cool blog with a mix of basic guides like drafting pattern blocks (a base pattern you can use to create more complex garments) and really fun patternmaking experiments that are basically practical geometry.

If you're going to use older sewing sources, it's often really helpful to have at least a basic grasp of what pattern drafting is and how it works, so I'll be linking to some tutorials on how to draft some basic pattern blocks (bearing in mind that I've probably not used this source in particular, but the idea is more or less the same however you explain it):
