Romantic Scenarios
If I could draw, I would have drawn these instead of writing them out, but alas, writing is all I can contribute. This is 99% aesthetics and 1% plot.
Characters: Argenti, Jiaoqiu, Aventurine, Ratio, Sunday, and Luocha
🌹 Argenti
Inside an abandoned chapel of the Goddess Idrila, stood a princess and her knight. Moss and ivy covered the crumbling walls, and grass poked through the marble tiles, creating a carpet for you and Argenti to tread upon. You stood in front of the altar, illuminated by sunlight shining from the holes in the ceiling and the intact stained glass windows above. Argenti knelt on one knee before you, gazing at you with equal parts of devotion and adoration while extending a red rose to you, swearing to protect you as your loyal knight and secret lover.
🦊 Jiaoqiu
You entered a small medicine shop, and were greeted with the pleasant aroma of exotic spices and herbs. The walls were covered in shelves chock-full of colorful bottles, vials, and jars containing various liquids and powders. Behind the counter at the back of the shop sits Jiaoqiu, welcoming you with a sly smile and a polite greeting. A familiar tickling in your throat sent you into a coughing fit, and you cover your mouth with your hand while a concerned Jiaoqiu quickly walked over to you. Once your coughing subsided, you held up a flower petal for Jiaoqiu to see, one you had expelled from your lungs, much to his astonishment. He was your last hope, you said, your last hope in curing this mysterious illness. (Hanahaki AU)
🃏 Aventurine
Rain drizzled a steady beat against the window of your apartment. It was the middle of the night and the room was pitch dark, save for the dim light of a fluorescent shop sign shining inside from a neighboring building. It cast cyan and magenta hues through the window, outlining your and Aventurine’s silhouettes while you made out on the couch. Your wet hair was stuck to your face, both your and his hands eagerly peeled away the rain-drenched clothes on your bodies, but you didn’t feel the cold. There was only the warmth of Aventurine’s lips and the scorching heat of his whispered “I love you”s.
📘 Ratio
Countless stars reflected in the surface of the glassy, still lake, creating a beautiful cosmic pool. You and Ratio stood a few feet away from the water, gazing up at the glittering sky. It was a bit chilly so Ratio allowed you inside his jacket, holding you close to keep you warm while you both watched the meteor shower above. A myriad of shooting stars raced through the sky, leaving behind golden trails that disappeared in the blink of an eye only to be replaced with another. In that moment, you were grateful to Ratio for inviting you to watch this rare phenomenon with him, for it was truly beautiful.
🪽 Sunday
You and Sunday walked along the sandy beach, hand-in-hand. The cloudless blue sky reflected off the ocean’s surface and the warm water gently lapped at your feet. Each of you held an ice cream cone in your free hand, leisurely eating while strolling along the shore. Feeling mischievous, you lied, saying Sunday had a bit of ice cream on the corner of his mouth. Before he could react, you leaned in and kissed the corner of his lips, watching with restrained laughter how his face flushed at the sudden affection, and attempting to hide it from you by covering it with his wings.
⚰️ Luocha
Luocha’s hold on your hand and waist was firm yet gentle as he confidently guided you across the ballroom floor, dancing along to the live orchestral music. The glittering chandeliers, lively chatter and laughter of colorfully-dressed guests, and delicious scents of food piled on the tables had all overwhelmed you earlier, but now disappeared into the background as your gaze was caught captive by Luocha’s. The Duke’s eyes were gentle, and there was an unspoken emotion in his verdant depths that shone through every time he looked at you. You could never quite put your finger on it, but that emotion had your heart fluttering in your chest and wishing that this dance would never end.

On Friday, November 13, astrophysicist Dr. Kim Dahyun and her research team went from Busan to Seoul to visit a location where they were tasked with conducting a comprehensive examination.
Based on radar data from their headquarters, it was seen that around midnight yesterday, an object that seems to be a fragment of an asteroid or comet crashed into the vicinity of Seoul.
Their chief professor and mentor at the research lab gave them the order to report any unusual sightings they came across there before calling the military and defense squad to seize control of the area and place it under lockdown, keeping everyone outside of the sector out.
Dahyun and her group entered the hidden area through their vehicle, bypassing the main road and making their way to the designated site. They made the decision to park close to the danger zone as they were leaving the road so they could more easily reach the astronomical devices inside.
"So what's this anomaly of yours supposed to look like?" One of her intern graduated to SNU, YN LN asked her after arranging all the panels around the van.
"It's almost the same as what we used to find from the sky, but this one was the first to do the unthinkable." Dahyun answered, wiping her eyeglasses. "The record says that it's like a small shooting star that emerged from the sky, but the impact it left when it came contact here almost triggered a mild earthquake."
"So that's why the sent us in." He responded, nodding his head understandably.
Dahyun turns her head around, acknowledging her other assistant who is testing some devices that they will equip on their hands outside. "Uhm, Minyoung excuse me for a sec will you?"
"Yes, Miss Kim?"
"Can you grab for me that gloves beside the first cabinet?" She pointed at the direction. Minyoung saw it and unhesitantly passed it to her. "Thanks."
"Are you guys good now?" She checked on her accomplices. They signalled her with a positive note. "Okay, let's take a look what they have in store for us."
After getting out of the van, they began to swing the tall leaves that were obstructing their view and path on the verdant field. They weren't even gone from their car for that far when they observed something startling.
The three researchers were welcomed with a bald area on the top portion of the field, which was produced by a big crater on the land. The leaves that were impacted by the collision scattered across the hole.
"This looks huge." YN exclaimed with a gasping mouth. "Are you all sure it's just a thin shooting star-like that appeared yesterday?"
"It is. They even presented it to me." Dahyun explained. "The anomalies here would be always associated to the geological condition here. I have a chart that describes everything we have encountered for these past few years and I've never seen anything like this that an unknown object also gave us a hard time dealing with a quake."
"We better get starting now because to be honest, this is getting really unpredictable to the minute and I couldn't understand what's going on as long as we see it ourselves." Minyoung suggested. Dahyun and YN looked at her and they were both convinced. YN planted a huge nail beside the crater and wrapped a rope around it that will serve as their handle when going down to the crater.
As the three of them made it below. They began to look around and observe deeply the surfaces. Minyoung kneels down and poked a stick on a gross material, forming a disgusted expression on her face. "Uhh guys, take a look at this."
Dahyun and YN came towards her. "Does this remind you of something?" Minyoung said as she twirled and flipped it around, almost like she's playing on it.
"Is that an eggshell?" YN asked, furrowing his brows at the black and velvet-colored thin piece swimming at a pool of gooey substance.
"Could be. Just look at the fluids around that probably came from this." Dahyun said, mentioning the slime. They garnered their eyes more at their surroundings, there were even bigger ones that what Minyoung has found and they were also mostly covered with a slime.
"Get away from that, Minyoung-ah. Don't you see how disgusting it is?!" YN scolded his friend. He started to cover his nose too with his shirt. "And do you guys smell that?"
"Yeah, it's bad." Dahyun clenched her face in dislike. "Feels like there's a rotting organ in here."
"Wait, so are we gonna conclude right away that we just discovered a cracked egg?" YN said. He scoffed and rubbed his face. "Am I correct at what I think this might mean?"
"No, YN. We're just getting started here. We are researchers we came here to finish our task and not do it in rush just because we're in an unsettling situation right now." Dahyun protested. "We don't jump into conclusions right away."
"S-sorry, Prof." YN bowed his head. "It's just.. I'm sensing something wrong in here."
"YN, let's just wish it would not happen at all. Okay?"
YN looked at Dahyun's comforting and calm demeanor. He nodded shyly. "Yes, Ms. Kim."
Snapping a few photos of the scene, Dahyun gave Minyoung and YN the order to take everything out of the van that would be necessary for them to make a report and gather any evidence that they would find here. Dahyun borrowed a tracker and used it to glide around the crater's borders while they did so.
The tracker bumped against a tall leaf, and the alarm began to sound loudly. After receiving an alert, Dahyun was perplexed as to what it had discovered. Before she caught anything, she inspected the dirt and leaves in the area.
The leaves did not have sharp, pointed ends. Rather, it appears as though the flower has grown directly onto the leaf, utilizing it as a stem or something unexplainable. Dahyun thought it was rather strange to see a flower extending through the body of the leaves itself.
She stepped back to wipe the dust off her face as the flower burst some sprinkle of nectar on her face as she reached out to touch it. She held her tracker again while she coughed, but she quickly figured out that it was unresponsive.
"There's got to be some power or equipment malfunction" Dahyun hissed on the device as she carried it. "Minyoung! YN! I need a help on-"
Dahyun was about to walk back on the van when suddenly she went out of balance and slipped through the crater. When she was about to get up, she saw the van fleeted upwards to the sky, a hole was formed on the bottom of the vehicle before it splitted in half when it crashed on the ground. Her heart shattered she heard it explode.
She wasn't devastated because of the vehicle, but because of the fact that two of her colleagues were inside that van when it exploded. "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" she shouted at the horrific sight from outside the crater.
Dahyun ran through the ropes and hurriedly climbed but she started getting drowsy and lightheaded, her body losing it sense until it managed to get her out of the grip from the rope, sending her unconscious inside the crater.
Right after she snapped out, the ground she's laying at started to flow like waves.
Dahyun woke up hours later, but not without a clue on her, as her mind was still rebooting from what happened to her earlier. Her eyes opened, and there she witnessed herself sitting in the middle of what it seems to be a cave.
She slowly risen up to her feet, her feet stumbled a bit as she felt a dull ache on her head once again. Rubbing it to ease it off atleast, Dahyun breathed deeply before returning back her attention on her current situation of getting stuck.
She couldn't find any light that would provide her to a clearer vision of everything around her. Nervous and desperate to find a route to escape, Dahyun had no other choice but to walk around and explore for a route way out.
"HELPPP!!! ANYBODY OUT THERE CAN HEAR ME?!" Dahyun pleaded as loud as she can reach on her voice. "MINYOUNG? YN? WHERE ARE-"
She paused as she recalled earlier seeing their van where her two assistants were staying in. Her emotions overtook her, releasing teardrops across her face. She also began to feel guilty, thinking that she should have ordered them to go back inside and fetch all of their equipment on her behalf.
Maybe if it wasn't for her, she wouldn't led both her friends on their own demise. Dahyun sobbed heavily as she repeated calling their names in agony.
She slammed her hand accidentally on some surface. Dahyun probably guessed it a wall where she could support herself while trailing along the cave. She took the opportunity, caressing and patting it.
However, Dahyun noticed something different. It was rough, soft, and quite sticky as she could describe. She tried to smell it, and it brought her to a familiar rotten organ smell she, Minyoung, and YN had depicted earlier.
"Huh? What is this?" Dahyun questioned herself where she is also the only one who could find the answer. With one more pat onto the strange wall, she noticed the entire area start to glow including the one where she is touching.
She roamed her eyes around, and it made her tensed to learn that she does indeed correct on her being stuck inside a cave right now, but rather everything that blocks her from the possibility of escaping is covered with unidentified type of organs.
There was a dark area on the far end just right in front of Dahyun's direction. She could swear that she had a glimpse of something that just moved there and disappeared from the shadows in a few second. "WHO'S T-THERE?!" she shouted as she started having suspicions in her mind.
Taking few steps ahead to check out what it is, a loud roar put her into halt before she was about to scream in terror. She fell on her butt and her breathing goes faster, wondering what kind of a monstrous noise she just heard.
She then saw something emerging from the drak shadows. In her utmost bewilderment and panic, an abomination has appeared in front of her, standing tall with its bulbous, humungeous and very disfigured appeareance.
It's size is like almost half of the space of the cave they're occupying, and Dahyun was in complete disbelief that the fear of YN he was trying to refer a while ago has unfortunately manifested into reality. A beast from the space or in other term made by humans ourselves, called aliens- are real in Dahyun's universe.
"D-don't come closer to me!" Dahyun tensefully said as she starts to crawl away from the monster. It blabbered some unusual noises that almost formed some inaudible words while shaking its head madly, and after that, Dahyun saw something popping out of its body.
Two slimy tentacles just came out from each sides and began crawling through Dahyun to reach each of her ankles and get wrapped. She then felt her body being dragged closer to the monster and Dahyun repeatedly yelled, begging for it to stop while tugging the tentacles with all the force she could apply to yank it off, only to end up with no effect.
As Dahyun was placed almost inches away from the gigantic alien creature, she has finally accepted her fate of being helpless and in danger. Tears filled with nothing but negative emotions streamed out of her eyes before the monster blew out some gas that has a color similar to the nectars that were sprayed on her by an infected plant earlier.
After she smelled it, she soon finds her body growing into a sense of arousal that urges her horny feelings to activate. She tried to endure it but she could swear that her skin were releasing more sweat and her pussy and her nipples are starting to become sensitive.
The tentacles must've found the lustful sensation brewing inside of her, and they took the perfect timing as one of them starts to slid through her pencil skirt and lift it up her tummy before it traces her pussy through the soaked panty. It's partner focused on her clothed breasts, bumping it and feeling its softness as it bounces.
Several more tentacles were released from the creature, but this time with various sizes and colors. Some were lighter or darker, some where thicker or thinner. The thin ones snaked through her sleeve and forcefully spreaded her top, revealing her white strapped bras containing her milky tits.
The rest then helped to remove her skirt, exposing her into half naked with her matching pair of white bra and panties. "NOOO! PLEASE, DON'T DO IT!" Dahyun pleaded until she unexpectedly released a sultry moan when a fast tentacle moves through her cheek and rubs itself on her skin.
All the tentacles starts to wrap around on her meaty thighs and slender arms in order to suspend her in mid-air. Their touch becomes even more satisfying and felt relaxing to Dahyun despite how denial the words coming out of her mouth.
Being half-naked and spreaded in front of the creature's ugly looking face, the tentacle then moved from her cheek to her lips as it continues to rub across Dahyun's pretty face. Her lips starts to pucker and the effects of the strange gas which was probably aphrodisiac as Dahyun guessed, made her more susceptible as it clouded her mind with lust and temptation.
She starts kissing the tentacle before it slid through her mouth, she sucks on it like it was a cock entering on her.
The other tentacles started to become bold also. They tugged and remove her bras and panties, finally making her naked. There's these suction cups- like tentacles went to crept up on her torso to her underboobs, feeling her perky tits bounce on their motions before its lips opened and sucked on her hardened pinky nipples.
Thinner tentacles spreaded her walls, assisting the thicker tubular object crawl and enter her tight pussy. It effectively brought another relieving feeling on Dahyun's aroused body, moaning in rhythm to the tentacle's barging on her constricted hole.
Their movements became faster and rougher, including the suction cups almost biting her nipples then returning to lick on it like there were supposed to have milk leaking out of Dahyun's breasts.
Due to the sudden increase of pace, it also din't allow more time for the tentacles to reach their limit. Despite her little efforts and strength to shake them off their body, Dahyun uncontrollably welcomes their slimy liquid that probably resembles to a man's cum, into her warm throat and womb.
She lets out a poor groan and whimper, sniffling in fear of what it could bring her after when she watched the odd colors and thickness of their cum flowing out of her. She hoped it would not cause her to get pregnant, especially if it would mean that she would breed an abnormal hybrid that sets aparts from what a normal baby should look like.
Desire is what Dahyun could just accept within her, disturbing and letting out the pleasure she has long kept to seek any solutions for it. First load wasn't enough for the tentacles howsoever, as she felt the tentacles changing their hold on her limbs to prepare her for a next position.
Still hanging from the mid-air, Dahyun's body was forced to bend, with her backdoor being the one facing the beast. The tentacles spreaded her legs, causing her cheeks and puffy pussy to open a little.
With her arms around her back, Dahyun endured all the harsh slaps of the thicker tentacles to each of her curvy asscheeks. She lost the count of how many times they played on it, too obsessed on how soft and big enough for it to give comfort on these creatures.
Funtime didn't lasted longer as they went already to the next move. She felt the girthy pair pounding both her asshole and pussy, fucking them simultaneously. Her body went back and forth at their movement.
The suction cups returned to play on her breats, tugging on her nipples and stretching them as farther her endurance could take. Dahyun hissed in a mixture of pain and pleasure only because it aided the abuse her tits were being applied at when she felt something gliding through her entire back.
She turned her head around and witnessed the alien sticking out its wide and long tongue slurping the taste of of the sweat forming across her back view.
The thick tentacles reached their climax, exploding a second amount of load to her love holes. Dahyun huffed at the unmatched energy of these active creatures using her body for pleasure.
As they release from her ass and pussy. She was repositioned again. She was now facing the monster completely before she gulped when she realized what she was about to suffer next.
A huge- like literally- gigantic cock, probably measuring around 14 or 15 inches in size unbeatable to any men's size around the world, is ready to explore Dahyun's innards. Dahyun wiggled her legs, afraid that she might break from being unable to take his girth.
But again, she is outnumbered with numerous tentacles attached to her body, imprisoning her from any attempts of escaping, even though she has no other palns anymore as the aphrodisiacs are still in full effect on her.
Their strength pressed Dahyun's body to the awaiting cock. Due to its massive size it struggled to enter Dahyun's tight little pussy before it succeeded, only for the poor scientist to scream and grit her teeth in a shocking pain while the creature twitched and produced more creepy noises.
Thankfully, it didn't last long as the impressive pleasure began to take over her body when the monster started ramming his cock on her pussy, demolishing her womb inside. She went crazily bouncing on its crotch. Dahyun's eyes are completely white, with her pupils now rolled at the back at the intense pace of fucking she's receiving.
Her mouth began to lustfully agape, with her tongue sticking out as the monster cock continues to push deeper across Dahyun's walls. Her ass starts to create loud claps around the cave as it hits the alien's crotch repeatedly.
The giant cock stuffed into her pussy then pulsated, as it erupted a terrifying amount of dirty white cum almost inflating Dahyun's stomach like she is about to be mistakenly identified as pregnant, before it slowly slid out of her pussy, allowing the rest of the load to explode out of her abused hole.
The tentacles lets go of her body, releasing Dahyun on the ground, which gave her time to rest for a while. She panted heavily and speechless at the rough fucking she just had with the monster alien. She couldn't deny that there might be no other man she would ever met that would match the performance of what this monster has showed to her.
All of the tentacles and the bulbous cock slowly erected again the more the creature stares at Dahyun's messy and sticky nude body lying on the floor. They decided to proceed with the last action, as they focus once again on her nether regions.
Lifting her up, they spreaded her arms and legs again and faced her closer to the creature. The suction cups slowly crawled on her back then cupped her full breasts from behind. Dahyun whined and moaned at the relaxing and tickly feeling it gives. One tentacle went through her tongue, a pair goes back to her pussy and asshole.
There was a twist added again coming from the idea of the monster. Wanting to give every single part of her body that could provide a purpose of satisfaction to this monster's desire, they let go of Dahyun's hands and two tentacles caressed her fingers.
Dahyun sensed their hidden message for doing that and finding out the answer, she formed a fist and gripped the tentacles, stroking them like she would do to a male cock.
All of her body and now functioning properly following the monster's command. Dahyun's mind is full of sex. She has been hypnotized and manipulated too much by the pleasure and sensation that the creature has been passing through her using its ability to fuck her senseless and take her breath away.
The thick tentacles had her overpowered and weak from the way they drill through her holes as deeper as they could get. Dahyun felt her neck bulging as the tentacle gave her a deep throat, her clit being scrubbed by a tentacle with a brush-like end on it to add more pleasure, and the other tentacle wiggling around her ass.
They all began to pull the trigger of increasing the speed while they all moved in unison, their grip on her skin went tighter as they felt this familiar tightness in their system, approaching the climax of their endurance. Dahyun squirted her juices again and spasmed at her own orgasm, resulting to her walls clamping on the tentacles more.
Few more waves, pumps and strokes they gave and finally they executed their final blow, releasing their cum flowing through her throat, ass and pussy simultaneously, as she switches through gags and moans. The two other tentacles enwrapped on her fists splashed their warm sticky liquid on her arms and side of her face.
The rest of the tentacles joined, painting Dahyun's entire body with the rest of the cum flowing and leaking out of its ends. As they finished, the tentacles crawled around Dahyun's skin, giving her body a nice calming massage to ride out their lengthy session of sex and intense orgasms they shared.
Dahyun couldn't opened her eyes wide anymore as she knew she's completely drained now. The creature slowly laid her back on the ground with her body entirely covered with cum. She also weakly spitted and coughed out some from her mouth after unable to swallow all of the load down to her filled tummy.
Now that she can have her rest, Dahyun slowly shuts her eyes as she went unconscious, while the tentacles continue to caress her hair gently and massage her body, especially her addicting round tits, as they wiped away all the stuffs around her pearly skin.
When she woke up again from her long slumber, she found herself lying on a hospital bed with her body now clothed in a hospital gown.
Realizing that she is now in a hospital and two familiar people sleeping with their head resting beside her bed, she concluded that after everything that happened to her, she was now free and safe from that creature she encountered.
She gasped and shuddered as she remembered what it did to her, it awakened her parents and quickly hugged her in response to her fine state. "Oh thank God you're okay.", her mother said.
"How are you feeling, daughter?" Mr. Kim checked up on her. "It's been days you were confined. We were really worried that something worse could happen."
"I-I'm alright… I'm just… still tired." Dahyun said in a weak tone. Her eyes became watery when she remembered Minyoung and YN. "Mom… Dad, we-… we got ambushed. They didn't make it, it's my fault." she said as her lips trembled.
"No, daughter. Don't blame yourself, we know you can't do such bad thing with whole intention. I know you." Mrs. Kim said, rubbing her palms to calm down her poor daughter.
"We heard what happened to you and your team, Dubu. We're sorry." Her father stated in sympathy. "But we couldn't help ourselves to be thankful that we have been given a miracle to have you still here, safe and sound."
"I missed you, Mom… Dad." Dahyun holds her mother's hand and looked them in the eyes tenderly. "I thought I wouldn't make it."
"Oh, by the way. If you may be wondering how did we managed to get you here, it's all thanks to your workmates. They sent a rescue on the location where they found you lying on a grass field with your…. dress torn up covering your body." Her father gulped and lowered his head in regret at the last words. Dahyun just furrowed her brows, couldn't recall that part.
Dahyun saw her mom getting choked up on her emotions. She pressed her hands on her own and stared at her eagerly. "Dubu, answer me with all honesty. Okay?"
Dahyun just listened attentively on what her mom's about to ask. "W-who did this to you?"
Their conversation were interrupted when the door opened. Two men appeared in a room, in which Dahyun speculated that it's a doctor and the other one works in the military.
"Pardon to interrupt, Mr. and Mrs. Kim but this gentleman right here is taking a visit and… to ask for a request for the both of you." The doctor said. He looked at his patient, his face lightened in relief. "Oh, you're Miss Dahyun right? Good thing that you're awake. How are you feeling?"
"Fined, doc." Dahyun replied.
"Is there anything you need from us, sir…?" her mother asked.
"General Knight Yoo of the Seoul Military Army. Greetings to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Kim." the military man introduced himself to the family, performing a salute gesture. "Yes, I actually would like to speak with your daughter."
They all looked at Dahyun who became curious at the acknowledgement. "For what, sir?"
"It's regarding to that research that your team embarked near outside Itaewon." Knight elaborated. Dahyun's eyes widened in astonishment as his words struck those memories of her on that given time to repeat in cycle on her mind, including that one awful experience that she had.
"Your faculty cooperated with us in order to seek help when they lost their line to your team. We went through an investigation at that site and we found something… threatening, and we assume that since you're the only survivor in the incident confirmed yet, we would like you to enlighten us as we interrogate you about what actually happened."
Dahyun pursed her body forward slight from leaning on the bed, her face showed a puzzled expression. "Wait, what do you mean 'yet'?"
General Yoo maintained his intrigued stare at the patient. "Ms. Bae Minyoung's remains were found by the forensic team but your other accomplice, Mr. YN LN is still nowhere to be found but some of his torn out clothing were seen inside a cave. We will give it one week before we rule him as deceased."
Dahyun's switched looks at the four people gathered around her before she lured away her eyes filled with hope for her friend's disappearance from them.
Her traumatic experience of being conquered by an abomination should've brought her instantly to cooperate with the armed forces as they requested for her to stand up as the witness and part of the evidence in this important matter.
But rather, she's conflicted about what she should consider telling to them.
The idea of the alien monster who also amazingly pleasured her beyond the edge, disregarding the actual peculiar possibility behind the monster's odd behavior when she was held captive which failed for Dahyun to intepret; made her think twice on the decision she has to unveil.

I’ve talked a bit about my humansona’s Quest, although it was a while ago now. She’s supposed to repair the navigation systems in her Land’s floating cities, to prevent them from crashing into each other.
I haven’t thought at all about Sahlee's Quest - or, for that matter, her Land. Sally's Land is probably Doom-themed, so let's give Sahlee a Land based on the other Aspect I vibe with.
Tumblr media
The Life-themed Land of Sage and Stardust would be a verdant planet covered in sweet-smelling herbs, frozen in an eternal twilight. The Stardust refers to the Land's weather patterns, as LOSAS is perpetually bathed in a hail of shooting stars - an imitation of Skaia's Reckoning.
The Sage refers to her planet's Quest, as well as its flora. It's the title of a wise, long-dead Consort whose ancient order of herbalists was slain by her Denizen. Sahlee is tasked with resurrecting this order, as it's prophesized that only the incense of the Sages can unlock the door to the Denizen's Palace.

I've been dreaming of the Undersea Marauder.
There are so many rules in this world. So many shackles to keep him down.
Let nothing obstruct his errant path.
How does a moment last forever? How can a story never die?
Tumblr media
A fish is bound to the water his entire life.
It’s not a life for him.
Floyd is on his back, set adrift in the face of the Coral Sea. His hands cradle the back of his head, and he finds himself staring up. A flock of birds form an arrow, slicing through the sky. He wonders where they're going, what they'll do there.
Some merpeople dreamed of trading scales for skin, but Floyd thinks about giving up his fins for feathers. A pair of wings with which to witness all manner of strange things…
He chuckles soft.
Wouldn't that be so freeing?
“Eheheh. I wanna try it, too! Wait up for me, birds. Here I come…!”
Floyd rights himself and dives unto the frigid waters. His powerful tail undulates like a teal ribbon, propelling him after and faster. He steadily gains, chasing the shadows of the birds that skim the surface of his home turf.
Floyd approaches, lifting himself toward the shimmering boundary between sea and sky. A second later, he breaks through with a mighty splash.
His body elegantly arcs in the leap. He’s a skipping dolphin, a flying fish.
Free.
Floyd launches higher and higher, zipping past the flock. He collides with some birds, screeching with laughter as they spin like cars out of control.
Here come the clouds now—he easily bursts through them. They’re made of cool and fine-grained beads of water, refreshing him as he flies.
And higher still he goes, the sky dimming, a gradient of light to dark.
Floyd is among the stars, each twinkling like diamonds in greeting. The planets, like massive globes of sugar orbiting him.
The eel is weightless, effortlessly floating through space. With his arms, he paddles--and though there should be no gravity, the space warps and gives like water, letting him sail as smoothly as a ship after a storm.
He reaches out and plucks a star out of the cosmos, giving it a curious lick. The taste is like sweetened milk, and so he pops the entire thing into his mouth.
Then begins his descent.
At the peak of his jump, surrounded by the stars, he bends downward and plunges.
But there are no longer any waters waiting for him.
He crashes through a canopy of leaves. They scatter like papers, raining down verdant, brown, scarlet, tangerine, and gold. Sunlight pierces them, giving each a magical glow.
Roots come, skittering by him like a snake might slink. Thin tendrils extend from them, brushing his face.
Maybe there is some other name for them? Hyph-something, myce-whatever. Floyd does not care to remember his twin's excitable rambling.
Alarmingly, he spies an ugly bulbous cap poking out from a root. His nose crinkles with disgust.
Shiitake mushroom.
Floyd paddles through the fungi and plants, the scent of dirt and chlorophyll filling his nostrils. It's fresh and green mixed with damp and earthy, nothing like the salty smell of the sea.
Jade would like this, he thinks.
Daisies push through, their petals tickling his skin. He takes a shaky breath, holds, shakes again, and...
Sneezes!!
A great gale is unleashed, clearing his surroundings in an instant. Floyd is sent flying up, up, and away--
He shoots out of the dunes. Sand scatters from the force he emerges with, throwing particle clouds up into the air. Floyd flails, trying to balance his body. No use--he flops uselessly under the pull of gravity.
A scream rips from his throat. Not of terror, but of joy.
The landscape unfolds into a sandy expanse. In the distance, he sees an oasis guarded by palm trees. And below, a great city crowning the desert.
There are bright tents and stalls pitched, merchants hawking their wares. Vases and lamps with unique patterns, ripe fruits, adornments in a variety of designs.
Families and friends mill about in the packed marketplace, satisfied with their mundane lives, the schedules they keep. So content, so peaceful.
Floyd grins.
And he lets himself plummet straight into a stall.
The weight of him collapses it with a loud THUD. The merchant looks on, horrified, and his circle of customers gasp, putting distance between themselves and Floyd. Sticky with fruit juices, he removes the strand of black hair that clings to his cheek.
"Eh, guess it could be worse," Floyd shrugs, tossing off a chunk of watermelon sitting like a hat on his head. A line of juice dribbles down his forehead.
He notices the crowd staring and wiggles his tail in a casual pseudo-wave. One person immediately faints--but luckily, they're caught by a concerned onlooker.
"Riffraff!" the merchant shouts, waving a fist. "Scoundrel!! I demand compensation for what you've wrecked!"
Floyd rolls his eyes. He sounds like Azul.
The eel hauls himself off the pile of fruit--and peels right past the feet of the customers. The merchant's face heats.
"Guards! GUARDS!! Come quickly, HELP!! There's a sea monster on the loose!!"
Floyd rapidly drags himself across the market, digging his talons into the ground, his tail pushing him forward. He gleefully writhes as people scream and flee, clearing a path for him. His laugh, cackling.
He's at the waterways that thread the city when heavy footsteps spill into the street.
"He went that way!!"
Floyd doesn't look back before he dives back into his natural element.
The water welcomes him, its streams washing off the sand that paints his skin, loosening the hair that clumped from fruit juices. A tender kiss, a kind hand.
He has returned to the sea.
The channel goes deeper than Floyd thinks. It widens, becoming an entire ocean bathed in sunlight. A coral reef teeming with life stretched out below him, and when he runs his hand along it, tiny seahorses escape and trail bubbles.
He turns his head this way--a school of rainbow tropical fish race by. The other way, a band is in full swing. A carp on the harp, the plaice on the bass, bass on brass.
Floyd twirls as he passes, happily humming along to the tune. The music wraps around him, giving a warm embrace. He almost misses his name being called, almost forgets himself.
"... od....... loyd... Floyd! There you are."
A face that matches his appears beside him. He is followed by a boy with lilac skin, a series of squirming tentacles at his beck and call.
“Where did you vanish off to?” Jade asks. “Azul and I were starting to get worried about your whereabouts. Weren’t we, Azul?”
“I’m more concerned for the places he visits rather than Floyd himself. Who knows how much collateral damage he could cause unsupervised,” the octopus merman grumbles.
“Oya, Azul… Could it be that you lack faith in Floyd? Even though he has unquestionably served you since middle school?"
"You're saying strange things again. I recall him losing interest and changing his mind last minute more often than 'unquestionably serving'." Azul raises a brow. "So? Where were you all this time?"
Floyd flings himself at the duo, slinging his arms around their shoulders and pulling them close.
"F-Floyd?! What is the meaning of this?" Azul sputters, struggling against his binds.
"I was everything and everywhere all at once," he responds with a laugh. "I was as free as a bird! I'll tell you guys about it~"
"Fufu, it sounds as though you've been away on quite an adventure. We would, of course, be more than happy to hear of your escapades."

I’m late but if it’s not too late for the Kirby oc ask game, 💫💌🍒🍅🐛 for either/both your ocs?
Yeah!
Q: "💫 (Shooting Star) - If they were to wish on a clockwork star, like Galactic Nova or Star Dream, what would they wish for?"
A: If we're talking current day, after they've met and become friends, I honestly think they might just give their wish to each other. Neither is the type to rely on magic or Ancient shenanigans to reach their goals, for better or worse; but they do want what's best for each other.
If we're talking about before the two met: for Zed, it's a secret because I haven't figured out some story details. For Tillda, it's probably predictable enough. I made a little comic (it continues under the cut):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Q: "💌 (Love Letter) - How easy are they to befriend? Are they more of a social butterfly or a lone wolf?"
A: Tillda is not that difficult to befriend, but she might keep you at a healthy(?) distance. She was always somewhat introverted, but after losing contact with Taranza, she is more reclusive (spider pun!) than ever. Zed is her closest friend, but she is also respected and generally well-liked at her workplace.
Zed is even less social than Tillda. It isn't because they don't like other people; they just don't actively seek friendship. For instance, Zed almost certainly wouldn't be friends with Tillda if she hadn't bumped into them during one of their work shifts. (Speaking of which, they do inadvertently creep some of their coworkers out, but either Zed doesn't notice or doesn't mind.)
Q: "🍒 (Cherry) - Out of all of the Dream Friends [Kirby included], which ones would they get along with the most? The least?"
A: ...This one is gonna be somewhat long. I'll reblog with the answer to this one later.
Q: "🍅 (Tomato) - If Kirby absorbed them or their attacks, what Copy Ability [or Abilities] would he get? Alternatively, if they themselves are capable of using the Copy Ability, do they have a favourite?"
A: Tillda---hold your suspense---would give the Spider Copy Ability. (Maybe Kirby could wear her muffler. Or a wig. That would be cute.)
I could see Zed giving the Whip ability because of their tail. (This is much like how Gooey is represented by Whip Shadow Kirby in Fighters 2 because the former uses his tongue as a lasso of sorts). Though maybe you could argue that Zed, being a feline like Tac and wielding a mechanical visor, should give the Copy Copy Ability. (Zed's own visor has several functions, but scanning Copy Abilities is not one of them.)
Q: "🐛 (Caterpillar) - What are your OC’s greatest fears, and why? How do they act or react when they’re afraid?"
A: Tillda and Zed obviously have some deeper-rooted fears, but those will naturally be explored later in comics (whenever I get the chance), so we'll go with their greatest phobias:
Zed: Musophobia. Zed is terrified of rats and mice. Rodents are messy, they chew through wires and equipment, and they're a sign of a disorganized workspace. (And I love the cat-afraid-of-mouse trope.)
Tillda: Claustrophobia. She doesn't like small, tight rooms or crowded cities; maybe it's because she's lived in nice green countrysides all her life. Floralia is obviously a plant-filled paradise, but the planet she lives on now also has some verdant stretches. The modest home she inherited from her parents is in one of the planet's greenest cities (more of a village, really).
As for how they react to scary situations: you know "fight, flight, or freeze"? Well, Tillda fights, and Zed freezes.

For today's WIP, enjoy a bit from an upcoming Starborn!Cait x Starborn!Sam called The Passage of Distant Stars.
One of the benefits of being Starborn was that one could enjoy the stars without a helmet, even on an airless planet. Cait lounged on the wing of her Guardian, gazing up at the darkened sky, surrounded by the faint glittering bubble of her very own atmosphere. The verdant orb of Eridani III peeked up over the horizon—it was a sight she usually enjoyed, but at the moment she was more interested in the silver-gilt ship settling into a landing a few hundred meters out.
It wasn't unexpected; once Constellation had their fill of studying the Artifacts, she'd set the Armillary up in a well-defended outpost on an uninhabitable planet and sent word out via the Trader. For two years, she'd keep it open, and anyone who wanted to go through to Unity peacefully was welcome. Human, Starborn, didn't matter—but the crux of it was that word, 'peacefully'. Lift a finger against her or her defenses, and at best they'd be run off, tails between their legs. More likely they'd just die by gun or gravity; Cait had long since come to terms with the use of force. She wasn't the Hunter, to only allow access to the strong, or the Emissary, to only allow access to the 'worthy'; she'd heard stories of another, the Gatekeeper, who tried to prevent access to Unity at all. She shook her head. She didn't think it was up to her to decide who got Unity and who didn't, and figured 'don't try to shoot me for it' was a reasonable compromise. Too many of them were still willing to; that was one reason she always chose an airless moon for the outpost. Kept civilians out of the line of fire.
The fact that this one had landed within sight was a good sign; the problem Starborn generally landed farther away and tried to sneak up on her. She wasn't about to lower her guard, though—not until she was sure—so she watched and waited. After a few minutes, she was able to see her latest visitor hopping lightly with the ease of long practice through the low gravity. Male, one weapon—a rifle, slung over one shoulder—she didn't have a problem with that. No one sane would walk into a strange Starborn's living room without a certain amount of caution. There was something about the way he moved, though—something familiar—and she felt an equally familiar twinge deep in her heart as the faint edges of his emotions touched her.
By the time he reached her ship, she had herself more or less under control. She thought he said something, but she was off comms, and without air, no sound would reach her bubble. He didn't try to step on the ship, though—polite of him. He was close enough for her to sense clearly now; wariness contending with curiosity, underlying a certain amount of anticipation. The faint bite of loneliness, sharpened by grief. Curiosity and grief. That's how Unity gets us all in the end.
Cait got up, brushed herself off, and made her way down the wing of the ship at a deliberate pace, rather than the careless slide she typically used when alone. With some amusement, she watched her visitor shift his weight a little impatiently as she approached. Finally, her bubble of air wrapped around them both, and she cocked her head at his featureless visage. "Hello, Sam," she said quietly.
It took him aback. "How do you know that?" he growled—she could hear the growl even through the Starborn distortion.
"I should think that would be obvious," she said, not without some amusement. "Why don't we discuss it inside?" She could read the reluctance in the set of his shoulders as easily as breathing, but she didn't let it phase her. "Don't know about you, but I'm hungry. Been a while since I was able to share a friendly meal with someone." She hid a smile as she headed for the airlock.
He hesitated a moment, then took a couple quick steps to catch up. "You got a name?" He'd dropped the voice-changer. "Somehow, it don't feel right to call you 'Liberatrix'." She winced. Stars, but she hated that name. She'd started hearing it a few jumps back, and never had found out where it came from.
"I'll take that as a compliment," she said drily, slapping the airlock switch. As it chugged open, she answered his question. "Caitlyn Lynch-Coe. Cait, if you like."
"Makin' awful free with that name, aren't you?" he replied, equally drily, then waved off any protest. "Yeah, yeah, alternate timelines, I know." The hatch clanged shut behind them; as the pressure equalized, he pulled off the helmet to reveal Sam Coe's familiar face. He squinted a little, studying her features in the dim light. "Don't think I've run into you before," he observed, not unkindly.
Deep inside her, the bond, quiescent so long, twinged again—not her Sam, no, but he resonated with her. They all did, even the ones who had hated her for being Starborn. Sam, in all his variants, was—would always be, she thought—both her greatest strength and her deepest weakness. "I'm not surprised," she finally said, realizing the silence had gone on just a little too long. "Seems like the odds against my survival were high enough that there aren't a lot of versions of me knocking around." The internal door finally opened, allowing them to step through into a small but bright foyer.
"That—" he paused a minute, then let out a little laugh. "You know, I'm not quite sure what to say here. 'I'm sorry' doesn't quite seem right." His voice turned wry. "One of those Starborn things you don't expect 'til they come up, I guess."
Cait couldn't help but chuckle at the observation; he wasn't wrong. "Maybe we need an etiquette guide? 'How to Meet Yourself and Other Starborn Conundrums.'" He roared laughter, his good humor curling around her in warm, achingly familiar waves. She'd missed it—missed him. It had been years since she'd last seen a Sam; this universe's iteration had died as a young man when the odds against him weren't seven but ten to one, and the Rangers had arrived just those few seconds too late. No Sam meant no Cora, and the lack of them felt like a missing part of herself. Not the first time it had happened, and wouldn't be the last, but it always left her feeling off. Those keen blue eyes were studying her again; mentally, she shook herself. Foolish of her to go off into a reverie like that. "Sorry. There's a shower through there—" she gestured to a closed door "—if you like, and clothes in a locker if you want something a little more comfortable than the suit." At his surprised look, she added, "Those Guardians are sweet-looking ships, but a little short on the amenities."
It got another laugh from him. "You ain't wrong. Much obliged."
"Living hab's through there," she indicated a second door. "That's where I'll be." Trying to get a grip.

Crack fic/drabble
A scenario wherein Xavier does not end up in the earth of the past but rather a strange world where the elements almost seemed to be alive. . . and is that jelly moving?
genshin x love and deepspace crossover au
word count: 1273
Xavier hissed through his teeth as he slowly gained consciousness His body tensed as he grabbed his sword and took in his surroundings.
A verdant and lively land brimming with life. He knew looks could be deceiving but waking in such a land a contrast to his own decaying world was rather. . . odd.
At the thought of his homeland images of her flashed through his mind.
He needed to get up and possibly find the rest of his crew. Xavier had a promise to fulfill, he would be damned to give up now. It seemed he woke up in a clearing of sorts. Above the skies were white birds leisurely flying, the leaves rustled as birds chirped, and on the ground, a squirrel seeing his figure ran in the other direction. It seemed like this world's flora and fauna was not too far off from his home. Yet there were no signs of his ship or his crew. The place where he woke up provided no clue how he ended up there just a patch of grass.
As he scouted his surroundings he noted what looks like to be some sort of structure from the distance. It likely meant there were people nearby, it could help him to gather information on where he was but where there were people there was also danger. There was no telling what they would do to him, a stranger such as him.
With no other clues about where to go Xavier marched towards the structure, soon it became evident it was a stone statue. In the middle of a lake stood a man or a woman clothed in robes with wings holding a smoothed round stone with no markings. The statue was old showing its age with cracks yet it was well taken care of with no moss or other coverings.
A familiar sound of footsteps came from the back and he swung his sword in stance watching his assailant, who looked at him with wide eyes. In one hand the person held a lyre and the other was open showing off his palm.
"Woah! Easy there, outlander, I did not come with harm."
The young man continued to have his one free hand open, recognizing the universal sign of peace he sheathed his sword.
"Apologies I was startled," his voice was a bit dry, how long was he unconscious?
The young man laughed reminding Xavier of the sounds of wind chimes.
"It is alright with the way you landed here anyone would be startled."
Xavier narrowed his eyes his grip on the handle of his sword tightening.
"Ohh pardon me I must have startled you again," he waved his free hand," A while back I saw a shooting star landing near Starfell Lake, being curious I followed the trail but instead of a meteor crater I found a strange sleeping man," he says and points at Xavier.
"I had actually bought some first aid kid," he shakes the backpack on his shoulder, "but when I returned the strange man was totally gone."
Xavier blinked the hand on his hilt less tense, carefully he removed his grip.
"I see I must have startled you as well, apologies."
The green-clad man shook his hand as if waving away his concern.
"Never mind outlander-"
"Venti where are you?!"
A man dressed in black with a vivid red mane of hair came out of the forest and that is how Xavier got acquainted with Venti the bard and Diluc the winery owner. An odd bunch and a strange combination, from what he could gather from the clothes they were wearing to their occupation this land seemed primitive and behind on technology compared to Philos, yet the first aid kid was well put together and clean. The two strangers oddly did not ask how and why Xiaver was here, which raised some of his concerns but for now, he would follow and see where it goes
They arrived at the stone bridge pigeons flying away as carts and horses traveled from one side to the other. The bridge led to the entrance of the city called Mondstadt.
Xavier was left behind with Venti as Diluc talked to the guards. Venti laughed and patted him on his back. He must have noticed Xavier's tenseness. It wasn't too long before Diluc came back and they were able to enter the city, Xavier had to wonder if it was this easy to enter a guarded city with no identification or that Diluc had that much influence.
The city itself reminded him of paintings and pictures he had seen in history books. People dressed in a similar manner that was mentioned in the same books, they looked carefree and happy not a single worry that their land might wither and die out someday.
"we will take you to the church they have rooms for travelers that have nowhere to go and don't worry it is very nice there and the people working there are kind as well!" the bard chirped, boasting about it proudly.
With that Xavier was taken further north of the city and a giant winged stone statue stood in the plaza with who he assumed was the same winged deity he saw at the lake.
Before he knew it he was at the church entrance and the sky was turning darker. Venti spoke with some nuns who looked at Xavier with pity that almost made him look away from their eyes for..
"I will have to leave now there is some business I have to take care of, Venti will meet you in the morning."
"Hehe, going already master Diluc? Don't worry Xavier we won't just ditch you off see you in the morning I also got some work to do."
The two left shortly after that. Xavier was escorted to a modest rustic-looking room yet it was clean and he could tell the linen was fresh.
Xavier sat on the bed and took a deep breath.
He would love nothing more than to hit his head against the bed and let sleep take over his mind, yet his body was too jittery. Where was he? Where were his crew members what happened to the ship? His circumstances were too strange and his memories before he woke up were hazy at best.
His thoughts were interrupted by a knock.
He rose up and carefully opened the door a hand at the hilt of his sword.
There, at the door was her.
His star.
.
.
.
.
.
With a tray in hand, she stood there in the nun's attire, not looking out of place in the church walls.
"The other nuns told me to deliver your meal you must have had a rough trip from what I heard."
Her voice was like heaven itself he wanted to say something, anything, or perhaps he wanted to run and hug her breathing in her scent to commit to memory. It has been far too long since he had seen or been near her presence.
"Y-yes thank you," he hated how he stammered his words out.
She casually went inside of his room and he stepped back to make room for her. She put the tray on the wooden desk and smiled.
"I hope you enjoy your meal and get some rest."
Xavier was dumbfounded unable to say anything before she could leave he had to say something.
"Wait," he took a breath.
"Yes?"
She paused mid-step her beautiful smile still on her face.
"Can I ask for your name?" he hated how low his voice got and rubbed at his neck.
"it is Semiramis, pleased to meet you."

Unboxing a World of Wellness
The kit arrived neatly packaged, with everything a budding herbalist could need. A variety of seed packets boasted enticing names like chamomile, echinacea, and lavender, each adorned with a colourful picture hinting at the future bounty. Alongside the seeds came a bag of rich, organic potting mix, perfect for nourishing the soon-to-be inhabitants of my windowsill. The kit even included a set of charming plant markers, ensuring I wouldn't get confused between my calming chamomile and invigorating mint.
A Beginner's Guide to Herbal Cultivation
The true star of the show, however, was the comprehensive guidebook. This wasn't a flimsy pamphlet with vague instructions – it was a detailed manual overflowing with valuable information. Step-by-step instructions on planting, watering, and sunlight requirements made the process incredibly user-friendly, even for someone like me, a complete gardening novice. The guide also delved into the medicinal properties of each plant, offering fascinating insights into their historical uses and potential benefits.
From Seed to Sprout: Witnessing the Magic of Growth
Following the guidebook's guidance, I planted my seeds with a mixture of trepidation and excitement. Within days, tiny green shoots began to peek through the soil, a testament to the high-quality seeds included in the kit. The act of nurturing these little lives has brought a sense of calm and focus, a reminder of the simple joys to be found in nature.
A Flourishing Future: The Rewards of Homegrown Healing
While my miniature herb garden is still in its early stages, I'm already looking forward to the day I can harvest my first batch of homegrown remedies. The prospect of brewing a soothing cup of chamomile tea or using fresh lavender to ease tension is incredibly satisfying. The Medicinal Garden Kit has not only provided me with the tools to cultivate natural remedies, but it has also opened a door to a new and rewarding hobby, filled with the quiet satisfaction of nurturing life and the promise of a healthier, more natural approach to well-being.

As I walk into the field, lit by the slowly fading light of sunset, I feel your eyes bore into me.
The forest rustles with anticipation, I feel your hands shake from miles away. I know you're there, as I make slow, deliberate strides toward the fence that keeps the wilderness, like you, out of our fields.
The townsfolk stand at the edge of the field from whence I came, watching with fear in their eyes. I do this every friday, and you've ensured I return to my kin safely by sunset of each saturday.
And yet they've not learned to trust me, trust you.
As I hop over the fences, muscle memory proving strong, you nearly step out to embrace me early, just on the cusp of where the villagers could shoot their arrows.
But then you meet my gaze, and falter. You think better of it. You know they'd kill us both for such a display. The forest quiets now, as I tear myself away from your eyes to look back at my kin.
I smile, giving them a little wave. A few of the children wave back excitedly, they eagerly await my visits to you. I always bring back your stories, written onto the birchwood you prefer. The children love them.
They're the only ones in the town who dare to listen.
As I finally take the last step into the verdant path, as I am engulfed by leaves and sticks and grass and you, I laugh. You hold me close, beautiful claws gentle and loving as you grasp my face to pull me down to the moss.
You press a loving kiss to my forehead, a soft chuckle leaving us both as we lay in the bed of moss together. We watch as the twilight sky becomes dotted with small glittering specks, the stars coming down to watch as I tell you my own stories.
Your laugh rings out when I tell you little fables made up by the children, of you and what they imagine you doing. One said you fought a dragon by learning how to breathe fire, another said you were off rescuing faraway princesses and leading them into our forest to stay.
Maybe having an entourage of princesses isn't all that far off from the truth, you jest. Your family tends to be rather dramatic, they're more akin to drama queens, I reply, and your wonderful laugh graces my ears again.
You and I spend the night wandering the forest, the creatures of the night chittering excitedly as we leap over creeks. They adore me, you state matter of factly, and i cannot help but laugh at such a thing.
I am but a townsperson, after all. I may have learnt to respect and adore your forest, and its inhabitants, but I have not shed my skin and become as beautiful and wild as you.
My skills lie in farming, and you say that if I were to stay here my hands would go insane with desire to collect the monthly harvests in a jest.
And you'd be right.
But that's why they adore me, you say after climbing an old wild cherry tree to collect us a feast, they adore me because I am different and new. They enjoy my stories and the children's fables because they have heard all of the forest's tales.
I understand them now, truly, even though I am as plain as you could imagine, to someone who lives in such a beautiful, wild, adventurous place?
The mundane must seem like something out of their wildest fantasies.

"Have you ever felt content? I imagine it's like driving down a rural backroad, winding through groves of trees and bushes along the edges of corn country on a hazy yet mild summer morning in early July. Or like watching a summer sunset from the curb of a dinky truck stop, the hot pavement radiating warmth and the smell of dirt grounding you as a warm breeze plays with your hair. Or like stepping into a creek, surrounded by a verdant deciduous forest, and feeling the cool water rush over your galoshes as you cup your hands around a frog and watch your step so not to slip on moss. Or maybe like the smell of fallen leaves on a crisp, clear afternoon as you take a walk through the older part of town, the one with the bigger trees, bundled up against the slight chill. Or maybe like the taste of coffee on an October morning, when the warmth of the cup seems to radiate through you. Or maybe it’s the faint flicker of far away stars and the cool, soft grass beneath your hands, a heaviness in your eyes as you fight sleep just for the chance to see a shooting star. Did you know we look up at the same night sky?
I imagine contentedness feels something like this.”

 Wonderful Baby
(Little fluffy one shot of the first time Hob meets Daniel in the Endless Heirs AU)
Hob Gadling opened his eyes to find himself lying on his back in Fiddlers Green, looking up at the shimmer of a hundred thousand blazing stars. Each one shining brighter and bolder than he'd seen in the Waking World for almost two centuries now, since the skies had begun to fill with smog and street lights.
But here in the Dreaming they were still as bright and joyful as he'd known them in his long ago youth. Each pinprick of light the Platonic ideal of all that a star should be within the minds and hearts and dreams of humanity.
One star in particular caught his eye, twinkling above him with a brightly verdant glow, something Hob had never seen with stars in the Waking. It sparkled even brighter as he looked on, and Hob had the oddest sensation that he was watching the star giggle.
Though perhaps it wasn't too odd really, this was the Dreaming after all. Sometimes you just knew things here without knowing how you knew them. Like how he could know a star was giggling without hearing it.
But before Hob could think on this further, the star shone out brighter than ever before, and then suddenly plunged down across the sky, heading out over the wide plain of Fiddlers Green, leaving a trail of emerald sparks behind it.
Hob was up and after it in an instant, following that other peculiar instinct of the Dreaming, the kind that drove the dreamer further into its embrace with a feeling of " well why not ?"
His feet raced across the grass with more grace and speed than he knew he'd ever had in the Waking, even in his best days. It felt more like flying than running after a while, like he was being pulled along by the shooting star blazing away above him as it shot on towards its ultimate destination, wherever that might be.
And where it ended up being was the outstretched arms of a very familiar figure, who caught the star in those pale arms as it rocketed downwards, lithe body bending in a way as they took the star's weight that reminded Hob as nothing so much as when he used to toss a gleeful Robyn up in the air and catch him once more in the safety of his arms.
Hob's breath caught slightly in his throat at the thought, but he sucked it back in quickly so that he could joyfully call out:
"Dream!"
The figure turned, revealing the beloved face, that wonderful small smile lighting it as brightly as the fallen star had illuminated the night sky.
"Hob"
Dream's voice drifted out towards Hob with gentle warmth as Hob came closer. Normally when Hob found him in the Dreaming his beloved would reach out his hand in welcome, but those hands were currently occupied with--
"That's a baby "
Hob said dumbly, coming to a halt just in front of Dream as the sight he was seeing finally caught up with his slightly reeling mind.
Technically the child being cradled to Dream's chest, still shaking emerald stardust from their snowy white hair was more of a toddler, but still. It was Dream. With a baby.
"Yes. This is Daniel"
Dream said, shifting the boy to his hip so that Daniel could look out at Hob with large blue-green eyes, eyes that sparkled in their depths with hidden stars, just like Dream's.
"Is he--is he yours ?"
Hob couldn't help the faint gasp in his voice as he asked. It was just--just so strange, to think of his Stranger with a child. Hob knew Dream had been a father of course. He had met Orpheus after all, had…had helped him pass on. But Orpheus had been a man, and a man at the end of a long,l ong sad life. To see this child here, happy and bright and just at the very beginning of it all…and to not have known about him…
"After a manner, yes"
Dream's voice was as placid as ever, though Hob thought he could catch the slightest, barest hint of uncertainty. Uncertainty as to how Hob would react to this unexpected revelation of a sudden baby.
Hob suddenly had another thought that sent him reeling.
"Is--is this our baby?? Like--did we make a dream baby somehow when we--er…?"
He trailed off quickly, his face flushing deeply as Dream's lips quirked at Hob's flustering, dark eyes glittering with fond amusement.
"He was born in and of the Dreaming yes, but not due to any… activities undertaken by us. His parents of birth are two mortals named Hector and Lyta Hall. But being born of the Dreaming he has claim to my sireship as well. He is my heir, to both my realm and my station and…and beyond all that he is … he is, dear, to me"
The soft look that came into Dream's face as he pulled the child close, lips brushing over white curls as small pudgy hands reached up to pat Dream's cheeks, nearly melted Hob on the spot. He didn't think he'd ever seen Dream look so open, so at ease, so…so enraptured by the small being held close to his heart.
Something caught in Hob's throat at the thought of how this must be something close to how Dream must have been ages before, holding a young Orpheus just as close.
"Daniel, this is Hob Gadling"
Dream's rumbling voice broke into Hob's reverie,  Dream looked up from the child to grace Hob with a small smile as he added,
"He is quite dear to me as well"
Hob thought his heart might really have melted at that, he felt warm all through.
"Hello sweetheart"
Hob said softly, coming up close to the child with a small smile of his own. Daniel smiled shyly back at him, leaning into Dream but looking at Hob with interest, no fear at all.
"Hob Gadling, that's me. You've got quite a fine Papa here, I hope you know that"
Hob was rewarded for his compliment by a wide smile from Daniel and the slightest blush gracing Dream's pale cheeks.
"You are a consument flatterer Hob Gadling"
Daniel's face screwed up suddenly, his gaze fixed on Hob and for a moment Hob was afraid he was about to cry, until the boy opened his mouth and began babbling:
"Ho-hopgbllk-- Hob Gbbl--"
Hob couldn't help but laugh aloud, both from the baby babble, and from the look of frustration on Daniel's face as he struggled with Hob's name, it reminded him so much of Dream.
"You can just call me Hob, can you say Hob?"
Daniel appeared to actually mull it over for a moment, tiny lips pursed in a way that very much reminded Hob of Dream, before tentatively offering:
"H-Hop --Hob!"
Hob beamed . That warm feeling in his chest blazed like the shooting star that had led him here. The star he now realized must have been Daniel himself entering the Dreaming for the night.
"Hob!! Yes! Good job sweetheart!"
Daniel began bouncing up and down in Dream's arms, clearly delighted with his success and Hob's praise.
" Hob Hob Hob !!"
And suddenly, Daniel was reaching out towards Hob, hands grabbing for him as his tiny body strained towards Hob.
Hob's breath caught in his throat, he looked up towards Dream, hesitating. Dream gave a slight nod of permission, another small smile playing at the corner of his lips.
Tentatively, Hob reached out his arms, and Daniel promptly launched himself into them. Hob stumbled back slightly, but quickly righted himself, pulling the child close. Daniel quickly snuggled up to him, little arms wrapping around Hob's neck, soft and warm and comfortablely heavy against his chest.
Hob's heart was melting again.
"Oh he's perfect"
He whispered reverently, pressing a kiss of his own to the top of Daniel's head, stroking a hand softly through the pale curls, watching with bittersweet delight as they bounced back into place, the memory of another child's sandy curls playing in his mind's eye.
"He appears fond of you as well"
Dream's fond smile faltered slightly as Hob looked up at him, eyes wet and shining. Hob quickly gave a watery smile of his own to show he was fine, he was really, it was just…
"It's been so long…"
He whispered, pressing his cheek into Daniel's curls, trying to keep the slow trickle of tears escaping his eyes from falling on the child's face.
Dream came forward, and enveloped both Hob and Daniel within the circle of his arms, pulling them softly to his chest. Daniel looked up at Dream from his seat in Hob's arms and smiled with all the happy contentment that only children could have.
Dream smiled back, but Hob could see the wet shine in his own eyes noe as Dream's hands mimicked Hob's earlier movements, carding through Daniel's soft snowy hair.
"Yes, I know"
And Hob knew Dream did, and that he meant it for them both. For the sons they had both lost too soon, far, far too soon.
But now…now maybe they both had a chance for a new start. Nothing and no one could ever replace their sons, but Hob was never one to throw away the blessing of a second chance when it came his way.
He adjusted his hold on Daniel so that he could wipe at his eyes with his sleeve, before looking back down at the boy and saying softly, holding him close:
"Well, we're a lucky pair to get to have you underfoot, aren't we love?"
Dream's head came down to rest on top of Hob's, pulling him closer as well.
"Indeed we are"
He whispered with a smile.
"Indeed we are"
