caine is a little perplexed as to why you stay at the lake all the time, your room does have water... though, to be fair, your room is blocked off and small. i think it would take him a while to directly interact with you but just know that every night when you sing hes listening to you... actually now that i think about it, i dont think it would take him long to make himself known, he would probably clap and applaud you after one of your personal performances... probably makes sailor jokes, because, you know, sea stuff and mermaid lore... wants to include you more in stuff so he probably does IHAs that are lake themed, or perhaps makes something sort of like a portable tank..

she probably mistakes you for an NPC for a moment LMAO... i was going to go with an idea that pomni would be into mythology and stuff but now that i think about it, i actually see the opposite now thats more of something i can see zooble and gangle being into... not many ideas for pomni, unfortunately, but i think she would be friendly around you for manners

she thinks your really pretty, i think... while ragatha doesnt strike me as the type to be into mythology and stuff, i think she subconsciously is attracted to you because she grew up on stories about mermaids, fairies, and princesses... sure she doesnt remember all that since shes gotten stuck in the digital world, but the instinct to be near you is still there... i think if she got caught listening to you sing she would be so embarrassed, probably tries to excuse herself unless you tell her she can stay.. having someone come by down to the lake is nice, to finally have company

rarely leaves the tent but lets say he goes down to the lake one day while you happen to be out.. similar to pomni i think he would mistake you for an NPC simply because you are almost never in the tent... i think he would enjoy your singing, though, very calming and it eases him.. quietly listens and returns a few times when he sees youre out. meek apologies when hes caught, hes almost sheepish about it and admits that he should have asked before getting up in your business.. ooo i love this man

S: Lord. I'd forgotten how tedious these are.

V: They're really not worth it unless you can drink. It was so much worse when my parents would drag me to these as a child.

S: Hm. I didn't mind my father's business functions, but my ex-husband's were insufferable.

V: [chokes on wine] "Ex-husband?"

S: Well... "Ex" in that my untimely departure left him a widower, yes.

V: ...is he a--

S: [rolling eyes] NO, he is not a ghost.

V: Still! How have you not mentioned him once?

S: [shrugs] It didn't come up.

V: That isn't fair! I've spilled my guts to you for your research. You HAVE to tell me something!

S: Decided what?

V: The favor you owe me for bringing you along as my plus-one tonight!

The room was silent as he stared at (name), the other looking uncomfortable at the stares as Mikey looked almost annoyed "not worth looking at, ready to wife you" smiley grumbled and (name) sputtered at this statement "seriously you're the prettiest person we have ever seen, you make Sanzu look like a toilet ghost" Baji said and Sanzu didn't even deny it but did glare at Baji.

"Who told you you're not worth admiring?" Mitsuya asked and (name) sighed "my family..."

"Ayo I just wanna chat" the others began getting rowdy and Mikey just stared at (name) almost methodically before speaking "you're half brothers with Kisaki"

"Has he been saying this shit?"

Well thank god they booted him out of Toman because he just became fair game.

just some headcanons i have for the pjo triton i fantasize about in my head

okay so the main thing about triton is that he takes his role as prince and heir SERIOUSLY. like you dont see any of zeus’ kids rattling on about how they’re the prince/ss of olympus right? they’re gods before they are monarchs, but triton is built different. his primary loyalty is towards serving atlantis and his father-king, poseidon, rather than personifying his mantle as the god of calm seas.

this also means that triton doesn’t really care about messing with humans like the other gods do. in fact he doesn’t really care about humans at all. he cannot fathom why poseidon has so many human affairs and why he regularly leaves atlantis to meddle in the mortal world. for triton, having rule over all the earth’s seas and oceans is a large enough domain as it is without worrying about whatever the land dwellers do. 

actually triton doesnt much care for anyone outside of the sea, other gods included. why would he? he spends all his time in the ocean. this also means that though he acknowledges zeus’ role as king of all gods, he does so grudgingly. he’s more likely to see zeus just as poseidon’s annoying younger brother rather than anything as familial as uncle or anything as reverent as the most powerful.   

because triton takes his princely role so seriously, it makes him a bit... haughty? dude’s just used to constantly being surrounded by people who have to respect him and take care of life’s meager hardships for him. he’s prideful and he doesn’t really see that as a fault

look, he’s really proud of the fact that he’s a prince, okay. he looks at the other gods like ares and hermes and apollo and he thinks, “these kids are not acting like they are children of the king god.” triton embracing his princely status is, to him, embracing the responsibility of what it means to be a child of the sea and a child of poseidon. he knows that a lot of creatures and communities depend on the sea to survive, and making sure that sea is eternally habitable for all of them means stepping the fuck up. poseidon is the king of the ocean, and the ocean harbors so much: both beauty and monstrous things, the bright colors of the surface and the dark denizens of the deep. and because poseidon is his father, triton believes that his duty as a son is acknowledging the weight of that responsibility and doing his part in keeping the peace. part of that philosophy bled into how he raised athena, and he’s the main reason why athena takes her role in giving wise counsel to zeus so seriously too: they’re both well aware of the fact that their fathers are very powerful gods and often far too carefree with their power.

so triton can come off as rather straight-laced, and blunt, and a bit of an impatient dick that’s willfully ignorant of anything outside the ocean. but all that stems from a deep sense of duty, and to the citizens of atlantis at least, triton is a fair and just ruler that they can always count on to take over when poseidon isn’t around.

and like, at least part of that duty was instilled in him because of amphitrite. poseidon may be the ruler of the seas but amphitrite actually is the sea itself, and when the waves crash and hurricanes form and the tide wanes both amphitrite and triton feel that echo in their godly bones.

he’s the only one of his siblings that is primarily worshipped in connection to their father -- as poseidon’s herald -- rather than his domain, so by nature he feels a stronger pull towards atlantis than they do. he’s also a bit of an ass to his siblings tbh. in his view, they’re all neglecting their duties in some way and he’s eternally resigned to picking up the slack.

and because i think of triton as dutiful, i also think his contempt of percy is less because he’s jealous that percy is the favorite, and more because he knows percy doesn’t truly understand what it means to be poseidon’s son. like yeah yeah he’s the son of the sea god and he exhibits great and fearsome power over the waters blah blah, but does percy know the power structure in atlantis? the daily lives of their people? does percy does his duty as the son of the king and assist in atlantean government and politics? no! and triton is sick of the way that poseidon’s demigod children never seek out to help atlantis, and the way that poseidon has never really cared about pushing his demigod children to even care about their kingdom. 

once triton warms up to percy though, he takes it upon himself to teach his younger brother everything he needs to know. and yes he thinks that percy is annoying and a brat but he also sees that percy is genuinely caring. one of his new favorite things to do is teaching percy how to fine-tune his control over the currents, which is a skill the demigod has never really needed to develop overland. it helps soothe the grief he still carries for pallas. 

i subscribe heavily to the idea that percy had to stay in atlantis for a while to cope with tartarus. and i also see poseidon instructing triton to watch over percy as he sleeps, mindful of the nightmares that he always has that had only gotten worse since his time in the pit and the way that percy can sometimes lose control of his powers during them. as the god of calm seas, triton knows a thing or two about soothing a storm. as he grows to like percy more and more, he also takes it upon himself to play a light lullaby for his brother, the music filled with a calming magic that lets percy rest without fear. 

by the end of percy’s stay, percy gets convinced to visit atlantis more regularly. and triton always shows up to take him to and from the palace every time.

haha wait sory follow up to the last two asks . i finally remember what the term for it is. Like, double standards. My issue with how some ppl interpret The Laios and Toshiro argument is how they kind of hold them to a diff standard of like tha fault is mostly with Toshiro for not speaking up instead of Laios because ppl see him as more oblivious in general even tho yea i mean that's fair i can also be like that sometimes!!! but its unfair that ppl say Toshiro isn't some flavour of neurodivergent too and is just like. an allistic asshole. lmao

either way i think theyre both interestingly flawed. and i enjoyed their fight and what it like meant for both of them (a big growth moment because laios like has a more understanding perspective of others' now and how like some ppl are going to be annoyed with him / how he should be more careful going forward with boundaries. and he also like . can see other ppls perspectives more in particular how toshiros sleep deprivation and lack of eating contributed to him lashing out suddenly at Laios.

and then how for Toshiro he kinda like? becomes more assertive and like doesnt just repress whatever it is he wants to say. Like the fight is super well written and interesting for both of their characters' growth so i want more ppl to kind of like /get/ that its less of a NT vs ND typa situation and more of a yeah these guys are both autistic, goin at it, and learning from their past mistakes. Getting worse before they get better at communication, that kind of stuff :]

I think this is all very valid and true and honestly this sorta fandom mini-ecosystem is really reflective of how people view neurodivergence as a whole, like there's some sorta monolith and one size fits all solution.

IDK how many people have this experience but at my elementary school they had a special daily class for the kids with "social difficulties" which basically meant they threw all the neurodiverse kids in a room and treated their different symptoms as exactly the same and were surprised when most of us HATED each other by the end. I have little to no volume control and was put next to a kid with severe noise sensitivity and yet they thought we'd get along because we both deviated from the norm. People expect there to be one true neurodivergent experience and it just doesn't work like that.

I definitely get what you mean about relating to both Laios and Toshiro and being annoyed at the mentality that you need to pick a side too, even if there is a million percent more Laios in me than Toshiro. A lot of people don't realize that people's symptoms don't follow an archetype and can have symptoms that seem to conflict with each other (I for example am a selective mute who also talks impulsively). People keep making false dichotomies with this stuff which is also where the temptation to make it into an autistic vs allistic right vs wrong thing comes in and it's a whole mess.

At the end of the day I just wish people were comfortable viewing this moment of conflict between Laios and Toshiro as a moment both of them needed to have to learn and grow, that's why they were both all bruised up at the end, neither came out as someone perfect but it's what they need to move past their differences and stuff.

That's also why I think it's so cool that there's a whole community online full of other neurodivergent folks who can all throw their own perspectives in and all that! I really enjoy hearing your perspective on Toshiro's character and I'm glad you help me think about him in ways I wouldn't have been able to on my own! :3

Here’s a thing. Was very good in my policeman yes. Was he great in my policeman, no. I don’t think acting is for Harry. I also don’t think dramatic acting is for Harry. The reason he did a good job in My policeman is the fact that he had a lot more prep time for it. Harry was casted in don’t worry darling a month before they started filming. Harry was casted in my policeman over six months before they started filming. Harry had so much more time to prep for my policeman then he did for don’t worry darling. But to say that do I think they should have casted another actor, yes. The thing about it is the fact that Harry is working with people who are classically trained. Emma, David, Florence, Chris pine, Gemma Chan are all actors who are classically trained. And then you have Harry who is completely new to acting. Doesnt seem like he has a really good acting coach and he’s kind of risk going into the situation blind. I think they could have casted much better actors for Harry’s Roles in both movies but they casted hairy and he showed we could do. But what I will say in this situation is Harry’s acting isn’t going to be the thing that hurts him and all Hollywood or the thing that prevents him from getting rolls, it’s going to be his Fanbase. They have a weight of taking a film and making it all about Harry if he’s in it. Harry had eight minutes of screen time in Dunkirk but the entire press tour was about him. His costar is get asked about him even the ones that barely worked with him and it turns into the Harry show and it’s low-key kind of annoying and you can see how annoyed they are with the situation. Harry did much better in my policeman done and don’t worry darling but it wasn’t a huge improvement nor was it amazing. There are a dozen after that they could’ve tested in both movies I would have done a better job. And would have made the movie better. But Harry fan so big that everything he does is amazing and that’s not true.

I want people to think objectively about this. If any other actor would have gotten tested and don’t worry darling and gave the exact same performance as Harry did would we be saying that it was a good performance.? No. Harry styles performance and don’t worry darling was not good. It was not anything special. If any other professional actor say Evans Peters, Dylan O’Brien, Dev Patel, or Daniel Kaluuya would have been casted in that movie and gave the same performance as Harry dead we would all be clowning them and saying that it was shit. Harry styles is not cut out for acting. It’s not for him. He didn’t get casted in those movies because he’s a good actor he got casted in those movies because it gave the films a lot of attention. Don’t worry darling wouldn’t have gotten half the money and did if Harry styles didn’t join the cast. Nor would it have been made because we all know he invested some money into that film. The reason that my policeman got green lit was because he joined to the cast. His performance in my policeman was slightly better because he had more time but he is casted and movies with people who are again and classically trained and have been doing this a lot longer than him. It’s not fair to him. I don’t know why his agents and managers see him in a movie with Oscar Nominees and people who have been in the industry for 10+ years and who all went to performing arts schools and are classically trained. Another reason why acting doesn’t really look good for Harry is his Fanbase. They are fucking annoying. A lot of harry styles fans are fucking annoying. The second he gets casted in any film with actors y’all go to their fucking comments and spam their accounts and ask them questions about them. They could be promoting a different project and everybody wants to ask about Harry. Even the fucking media does the same thing and it’s annoying. Florence look like she was dying when they asked her about him on the red carpet. He was in Dunkirk for less than 10 minutes and the entire press tour was them being asked about him and it’s fucking cringey.Fans were sending hate to David awesome when he got casted and why he made his Instagram account they were making fun of him and his looks in the comments. He was in eternal’s in a post credit scene for less than a minute and the entire press conference people were asking about him and even now asking about him. I get that he is interesting but I would be pissed if I was promoting a project and I spent so much time getting ready for and they asked me about a guy who was in it for less than a fucking minuteThat combination doesn’t help him. There are a dozen actors that I could name that should have been casted in both don’t worry darling and my policeman. We can sit here and say that he wasn’t very good. I’m not hating on him I love Harry styles but I can sit here and say that he was a good for either of those rules because he’s not a good actor. And it’s only fair to people who actually are good and have actual talent that don’t get rules because some singer wants to dabble in acting every once in a while. In my opinion, blackpink gets hate so easily is because theyre SO big. They are so popular they seem untouchable so whatever hate they get is not gonna reach them or is “normalized” because popular things get hated on all the time. Its “cool” to be in the minority to hate on something popular. This is very evident from their rookie days. During whistle all the way to d4, everyone loved them. I feel like he thinks he doesnt need to show how much he loves you through actions, more so through blunt words.

But he will get the sudden urge to hold your hand every once in a while, so be prepared because he could get the jump on you at any point.

Adoration bloomed in your chest at his words and you grabbed his outstretched hand, instantly interlocking your fingers with his. Absentmindedly, you ran your thumb up and down his hand comfortingly as you smiled like an idiot to yourself.

ok idm public but its like, A Lot so here goes: Im a pretty new DM, ive only ever done little homebrew things with a few people at a time that havent gone anywhere. Currently, ive taken over as DM from a long running game involving 3 of my friends and my older sister/brother in law (im 22 theyre about 26) and im running The Witch Beyond The Wildlight (a very lighthearted offical dnd adventure). my brother in law was the DM of last campaign and the tone was pretty Brutal (like fighting dragons, surprise gorey moments, bad things happening to good people for no reason ect) i started this adventure off specifally mentioning saftey tools in the frist session because things like excess gore specifically really Dont Do It for me, to which Bro-in-law kind of makes light of the saftey tools (EG. "can we just skip part of the adventure if im uncomfortable with it") generally BiL is pretty chill/not a bad guy or anything but this irked me when i was trying to be serious about this and he was trying to poke holes in the logic of people wanting to not touch on certain topics? (1/2)

(2/2) we've completed chapter 1 which was just a safe sandbox area but now in chapter 2 we get our first fight (weenie enemies bc its lvl 2) and afterwards hes gone in detail wanting ME to describe how he can basically defile the corpses of the highwaymen he killed (theyre rabbit people. but he wanted skin/bones/teeth). which really yucked me out and i tried to set a hard boundary but i dont know if he really gets me there. This whole situation of him not really listening to me as a DM, and then him acting upset when i have to tell him No has made me really frustrated because i feel like he is just fully not on the same page as me on what this campaign is about and doesnt really respect my ruling as DM (arguing with me this session that a bird familar should be able to sign a warlock contract, dumb things like that?) TLDR: He is my brother in law, and i want to be able to play with him and my sister, but i cant get through to him, and he thinks my escapism fairytale campaign is darksouls. do you have any advice?

Sounds like a real bummer, I'm sorry to hear that! I have experience with voiding tone boundaries on both sides, though both more incidental and because of unclear communication - I've definitely pulled back from gorey descriptions in fights because players were uncomfortable, and I've had to tell players to tone it down because it was inappropriate. It's hard especially when the genre of the campaign is different to the last and there are different expectations of violence - I hope the more they explore the feywild the more he understands the tone for the genre.

If you want to go outside the boundaries of the pre-made module, creating non-violent combat encounters can help curb the more gorey aspects of battles - but if you are more comfortable sticking with the written encounters (which is fair when using pre-made modules), I think you just have to be firm with him. It sounds like an annoying situation, where you don't want to kick him out but he also wants to be a kinda shitty player - I really hope he cares enough to listen to you and continue the game without continuing to be a nuisance.

In the example you used especially - if he tries to pull another teeth pulling thing, I think saying in no uncertain terms "I don't want to hear you describe that." or even "I'm uncomfortable with that action so I won't allow it." might be the best way to go - you're the DM and its your world, don't let him dictate how things operate. A slightly less upfront approach could be redirecting the energy: I know that particular module is set in the Feywild, so maybe if he tries to yank teeth, you can describe the bodies turning into light or poofing away into magic dust before he has a chance. You could even have it so that dying for NPCs/enemies isn't a mechanic in the feywild - people disappear or reincarnate or turn into trees or are simply knocked unconscious - or they run away!

My tl;dr is don't let him run the campaign for you - players should contribute to the world and the narrative, but ultimately you are the one running the session. If he won't listen to either your feelings or your alternative narration, he might not be a great suit for the party.

If it helps at all, I usually get players to fill in a checklist (X) to make it clear what's okay and what isn't for everyone at the table. If he still argues about the importance of consent checklists, thats a red flag in and of itself. I hope this helped!

Why I hate canon Kailor sm

Im not gonna tag Kailor on this for obvious reasons plus this is kinda a long post, I don’t mind fanon Kailor mostly because tbh I don’t think it’s really a big thing and most I have seen of it is fine. Don’t read this if you like Kailor and don’t want to hear it bashed

Okay listen, s4 is my favorite season out of all ninjago, but if theres one thing I hate about it the most is Kailor. This ship has always been really annoying to me throughout the show, and I’ve hinted towards that in my blog. But why?

1. It’s basically jaya redone

Kailor brings nothing new or interesting to the table because honestly? It’s literally just the same dynamic as jaya. Socially awkward guy simps for usually unimpressed girl until she eventually caves in and they start dating.

Not only has this already been done before with jaya, but is also completely out of character for Kai to do.

While I admit seeing Kai as a flustered dork is kinda funny, once you realize the context of the situation that they’re in it’s pretty clear that Kai would never actually do this.

Reminder: Kai JUST found out his dead friend is alive and is forced to recognsizle with friends in order to get him back

Usually when Kai is presented in a situation like this, what he normally does is set himself dead first on the task at hand and usually ignores any distractions. He’s mostly distance and seemingly uncaring

((note this is after Zane died and Kai ran away from the ninja because of cole and jays bickering, knowing him he wouldn’t be the most excited to be back. His arc should have revolved around coming to terms with lost friendships due to death or distance but that never happens)).

What Kai DOESNT do is immediately fall head over heels for a girl he JUST meet to the point where even when he sees his DEAD FRIEND ALIVE AND WELL he completely ignores that for a girl he meet less then a week ago

This is something JAY would do, not KAI, Kai is a loyal friend who do anything to save his friends, he cherishes them and would fight god to help them with anything they need, he doesn’t forget them for someone new

It also does skylor unjustice as well, but we’ll get there when we get there

2. It adds nothing to the characters and is otherwise never mention again

You know how bad you fuck up a relationship if the best aspect of it is how it’s rarely on screen

Even considering the fact Kailor is just jayas dynamic, the connection between skylor and Kai feels completely non existent or one sided

Most of Kailor revolves around Kai simping for skylor

They have no common interests, common goals, they rarely actually talk outside of lloyds plan to overthrow chen

The whole relationship feels forced every time it’s brought up because of how disconnected they both are to eachother, Kai only likes skylor because she’s hot and that’s it, nothing else about her is actually interesting to Kai in anyway ((again sort out of character for him in this situation))

Skylor and Kai don’t form any genuine bond with eachother, it feels hallow and empty

Let’s compare this to lava, wait no that would be to easy, let’s compare this to pixane

Pixal and Zane both genuinely like and respect eachother, they both share bonds outside of being robots, they both care about eachother enough to know when they’re uncomfortable or need help

Kailor is barely mentioned past s4 and most of it in s4 is Kai being a creep

Oh yeah let’s get to that

3. It’s really really creepy

Im sorry I don’t find incest jokes funny ninjago, it’s just really uncomfortable and creepy

Hopefully this goes without saying but Kai thinking skylor is hot, figuring out they might be related and no longer finding her hot, and then finding out they aren’t and thinking she’s hot is really weird and creepy

Not to mention scenes like, Kai looking into her room without her knowledge or consent

Or Kai fighting people for her when it’s not necessary

Or him trying to impress her everytime he sees her

This isn’t cute or funny, it’s gross, privacy invading, and overall just very creepy and uncomfortable and most definitely not healthy

Again, this is REALLY out of character for Kai, Kai knows when to back off and respect people’s privacy

Literally the season before this he didn’t get involved in the love triangle probably because he knew that would make Nya’s situation worse

So for him to suddenly become this privacy evading perv is so grossly out of character for him and makes the whole relationship feel off and unhealthy

And finally

4. The whole thing is misogynistic

During this entire thing skylor doesn’t get a choice in the show once, she follows the commands of her dad before Kai tells her not to like her dad and follows his lead.

She doesn’t come to disliking her dad by her own thought, she was told to by Kai

She doesn’t get to do anything that SHE actually wants to do until LITERALLY the VERY END

She’s told by guys around her what she should do constantly, even without her being a love interest that’s just screams misogynistic to me ((Afab speaking anyways))

Everything about her character, down to the way she talks, who she’s allied with, and even sometimes how she looks is determined by male characters

Conclusion

If canon ships were shrek movies then kailor is easily shrek the third, a constant tired unfunny mess that caused everyone to think that these ships were shit ((to be fair Jaya is kinda bad to but at least it tired to get better))

There’s nothing redeeming about it to me, every time it’s viewed in a romantic setting it makes me groan or upset

What’s even more frustrating is how people constantly say lava can’t be canon because of it

Im going to go on a side tangent so you can just skip this part as it doesn’t add any actual substance to my argument

But it’s so frustrating to see people say that

Cole and Kai have had a much healthier relationship and would be a lot better for there characters

But no, this stupid misogynistic creepy ship where one side isn’t even consententing to it half the time is the one that has to stay canon because “it’s what the creators intended”

Lava isn’t the superior possibly canon relationship because it’s gay, it’s superior because it’s closer to a healthy working relationship in show then kailor has been ((fanon lava and kailor doesn’t count here because they’re isn’t any better fanon ship, Im just talking about in show))

It would be a lie to say that I'm not the tiniest bit salty about what happened this mcc, but I think the people over on twitter raging on it are really overracting. I don't care about the hbomb thing, it was a glitch and he used it to his advantage, good for him. People have done it before. Wlbur glitch anyone? However, I think the thing that is bothering me a bit is Ace race. The fact that everyone was screwed over except Scott's team, who did perfectly fine, is a bit annoying. If it had been any other team that had figured it out and gotten an advantage it would be fine, like good for them for figuring it out. but the fact that Scott's team had such a big advantage over everyone else just going into it feels the slightest bit rigged. Like Scott knew he would have an advantage over everyone, I think it would just of been good sportsmanship to just reset after it went so terribly for everyone but his team. Then again, as of right now I've only seen red rabbits pov so maybe other team's didn't struggle as much, but it seems like everyone participating was at least a little bit annoyed.

I think the big thing that bothers me about it the most is Tommy's team were doing just so incredibly well. Like they were performing so much better then I expected, Tommy literally did amazing and niki?? She popped off! She performed so much better then I thought she would, I was so happy to see her survive for all of survival games (is that what its called?) Tubbo and vikkstar did amazing as well, they worked so well as a team. I really wanted to see them win or at least get topped three, I feel like they deserved it. It hurt to see them get screwed over so much towards the end. Bless Tommy for being such a good sport, you can really tell he's a good kid when you watch him in mcc.

Bt at the end of the day, it's just a block game. It's just a bit disappointing how things turned out win wise. Like, it's hard for me to feel excited for a team that literally got like a huge advantage over everyone else by having a literal developer on their side and pretty stacked players from what I've seen. Not to mention the glitch, but no ones really to blame for that. I think Scott's team could at of least benefitted from a low scoring player in their midst to make up for the fact that Scott was the only one who had experience in the games and could help his teammates with them as well. About tommy being okay with quackity torturing dream. An incoherent ramble written by yours truly (/rp. All names are referencing c!)

Okay first of all, tommy doesnt KNOW that Quackity is torturing dream. He ASSUMED that he was bc of the scar. And if he assumes that quackity got a scar from torturing Dream, it can be assumed that tommy doesn’t think quackity is really doing that much damage to dream or at least dream is able to fight back in a significant way. We know quackity isn’t the best at PVP so it makes sense for tommy to assume that if quackity is torturing dream, it’s not that big a deal (ie it’s not having that much of an effect on dream).

I think it’s also fair to assume that tommy is using the term ‘torture’ very loosely here. Less “you’re threatening him with actual weapons and teeth/nail pulling devices” and more “you’re just annoying the shit out of him” especially since he saw how Sam reacted when tommy pulled out a weapon in the prison near Dream. If the /viewers/ were surprised that Sam let him do that, it makes sense that tommy would be too.

Secondly, Dream abused and SEVERLY traumatized tommy. So It’s not that big a shocker when tommy doesn’t seem to care that Dream is getting tortured. Tommy HATES Dream to the furthest extent. He literally tried to KILL him. And y’all are shocked he’s not rushing to defend him from quackity (again he thinks Dream caused the scar while in prison during a torture session)????? Do I think abusers should be tortured? No. I don’t think anyone should be tortured. Do I blame their victims for not caring if their abusers are being tortured? Again, no. I can understand where they’re coming from even if I don’t think it’s right morally. I’m not going to blame them for having trauma that affects their ability to make moral decisions when it comes to their abusers.

TLDR; I don’t think tommy knows the extent of the torture that quackity is inflicting on Dream and I don’t blame tommy for not caring that his abuser is being tortured.

a quick rant on nonlabeled simon and something thats lowkey making me anxious rn -by an unlabeled person

uhh CW for gay simon snow and bi simon snow headcanon negativity (i'm sorry?)

trying to really take it in that simon is CANONICALLY nonlabeled has been a WHOLE THING because 1) im so so so so happy and 2) i was so so so so scared of this being handled VERY badly

is it bad to be glad to have CANON SHIT backing me up for getting upset with gay/bi simon fics and hcs >:((

(or any labeled simon snow headcanons, really- i just say bi more often, and gay too, because theyre the most popular hcs. and even though i muted bi simon snow it keeps showing up for me, so it gets to me the most)

like it used to annoy me a lot bc i mean- but also i didnt have an actual problem with it bc whatever its your headcanon,,, ill just frown for a sec then ignore it and go on

but now (with simon explicitly saying NO to gay and NO to bi and saying he doesnt know whats up) im . sort of relieved . (its canon, im not crazy, its canon, i have a reason)

Ok this isnt my usual way of doing things cuz... Well, tbh i dont really care enough to actually make a post bout most things, id just rather reblog shit, but I've now seen several posts comparing the Loki finale with spn's and just... Where?

Spn ended as a show with one of the most hopelessness inducing shit I've ever seen, taking a character thats been consistently seen as at the very least depressed and killing him off with a 'that's what his happy ending looks like' plastered on it, another character who's whole ark was reconciling with himself about who he is only to make him essentially cut half of himself out for a kid and also still be unhappy, and a third who's whole thing was learning what free will is and that he too deserves free will only to have him go back to obeying orders in heaven. It was absolutely against everything the show had portrayed for 15 years, including in the actual season this finale was a part of.

Loki is an on going show (s 2 confirmed), but even if it hadn't been, the shows main narrative themes remained true to the end, Loki did in fact grow as a character, the shows ultimate plot is about free will, tackling also the fact that free will means shit will also happen, its not only roses and happiness and Sylvie stuck to her actual goal and achieved it, aka killing whoever was behing the TVA. Loki's goal throughtout the show wasn't killing the Time keepers, it was having the free will to write his own life story and he's done and doing exactly that, sometimes that means shit happens, no characters died needlessly in my opinion and as I've said, in no way did it go against its own themes that it established initially. Not to mention the fact again that it's ongoing!

Finally to touch on what people are really complaining about (the more vocal post I've seen circulating, I've no doubt some people just genuinely didn't like it and thats fine) which is the Sylvie/Loki thing. Ok lets discuss. Firstly, if it's not ur thing that's entirely fine, its not mine either, but to claim it's a problem for u cuz it's, as Ive seen multiole people say, heteronormative is hella problematic to me since it seems to erase the fact that both characters by their own words are bi/pan. That's shitty. Number 2: 'if Sylvie was male presenting they wouldn't have gone there'... Now while I do think Marvel/Disney wouldnt likely have the balls, I still find issue with this statement since it feels very... Sexist to me. I dunno what exactly about it, but it very much reads like y'all would not complain bout the pairing if Sylvie was male presenting more so than a dig at Marvel/Disney and that is not cool with me. And finally, C the selfcest thing as incest stand-in. Ok so I get that selfcest aint for everyone, which again, fair point if u just dont vibe at all, but the actual issues people seem to have is less with it being selfcest and more that its not mlm, which is highly hypocritical. Now to the people who do just dislike it for being basically incest, ur perogative, ur view , but I'd've hoped that the whole multivers aspect of this show could've made it clearer that while they are variants of each other they are not actually the same person. Also also since the spn parallel is what began this, to the spn fans I ask, how tf can y'all not see this, the multuple versions of Sam and Dean alone should have you realize it's someones history, experience, surroundings, accuaintances that mould a person. We don't even know for sure if they share parents! Its a dif universe they've been born in, oddly enough that means they couldn't be more physically different, even if they may share some personality traits or some history between them. Again, i dont ship it, it feels awkward to me based on their interactions, but that doesnt mean imma say some bullshit bout incest just cuz I dont like the idea. Fact is they're not actually related and, as an aside, the would u fuck ur clone talk has been around for ages with little issues about incest because its already covered in the meme as is the pollar opposite.

Ok this was rambly and well, hopefully some of my points have been made clear. To end I just wanna say I do look forward to season 2, I can't wait to see Mobius and Loki reacquaint now that we have a Mobius that doesnt remember/know Loki it'll be a nice juxtapose to their relation this season (yes i ship it, whatever) and also also wanna see what's gonna happen with Kang overall and with Sylvie. She wasn't having a good time there.

So quick add, I just realised why the comparison fucks with me so much more than other shit and it's cuz it reduces both finales to shipping, thats why it annoys me, it essentially undermines Loki's whole arc and reduces it to shipping and it also undermines just how bad spn ended and why its bad since it also reduces it to a ship. Neither are bad or good because of a ship being canon or not on its own and seeing this comparison makes it seem very much like thats the reason spn ended bad and equally makes Loki ending bad because of course it would if the ship didnt go the way you wanted it. But thats not the way to measure a show like Loki or Spn, or at least def not the only measurement to apply for the end conclusion.
