there's something sort of tragicomic about dedra confronting eedy the way she does. she must have listened to syril's account of his mother always putting him down and holding that "favor from uncle harlo" over him, and what does she do? she goes to the ISB and pulls up any incriminating evidence on syril's family, she intentionally dresses in scary imp black for the dinner, and when it comes time to put eedy in her place, she uses the same cold, domineering tone she would in any other interrogation. like, her first reaction to any sort of mundane interpersonal friction (like tension with her potential mother-in-law) is to go full fascist secret police on their ass, bc that's all she's ever known

Twice-over, Ame has essentially paid Mirara a kindness.

As a child, she gave her an earnest compliment and unprejudiced service (Straight up gave her the kitty mug to boot)

Now as a young woman, she let her off the hook by preventing the vote from coming into pass in the first place (Ame could've been petty or spiteful, but she unveiled the double conspiracy against Mirara as saved basically everyone in the coven)

Even when Grandma Wren argued against her, she never really bullied her with the other witches (they were curt in their meeting, but Wren treated her as an opposed equal)

Now, Mirara has a decision to make, does she stick with the old guard that don't really care about her as either a witch or a person? Or does she take the hand once more of the little girl that told her of all people that her dress and mask were pretty?

I wonder if underneath the skulker facade and overall stress from the situation, she genuinely considered taking Ame for herself when she rapid-fired questions at her with unadulterated wonder and curiosity.

Her crow must also be lonely, it is a very social animal, after all

Most annoying NMJ or JC take is when someone that dislikes them is like "oh you're a fan of him? *scoff* Well obviously you've only seen cql, where he was super watered down. In the novel he's a dislikable asshole and that's the objectively superior canon I'm working from instead of your woobified fanfic." Meanwhile your main canon is novel canon and you genuinely find novel Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue complex sympathetic characters.

Got a new project warped! I saw @aspiring-thembo do tablet woven selvages and I thought it looked cool as shit so I’m giving it a go. I do have an actual card turning pattern and the middle section is a twill structure but it’s not showing up yet because I needed something simple to spread out the warp. It’s uncomfortable turning the cards while reaching over the reed though so maybe I’ll figure something else out. Not really sure what other design stuff I want to do but I have enough warp that I can mess around with samples first.
