Hello. What's the reminder of assassin's fear? What brings back all bad memories to Desmond and his ancestors? Like a word, sound, smell or anything.
And one other thing I wanted to say "Thanks you for being so nice to your followers"
Fire would be one, especially if Desmond could feel the heat bearing down on him and see the flames themselves. His Bleed of Ezio would remember the burning of Cappadocia and the guilt and grief he carried with him till his dying breath. But that would be a kindness compared to when it would remind his Bleed of Ratonhnhaké:ton of the burning of his village and his last moments with his mother. The feeling of desperation and hopelessness clung to Desmond deeper than any fear Ratonhnhaké:ton felt that day. And all Desmond could do ride that maelstrom of emotion… Hoping the hopeless tears wouldn’t fall from his eyes.
.
Loud noises usually don’t scare Desmond. He lived in New York. He learned how to pretend loud noises were just noise. But there are times… mostly when he wakes up because of some kind of loud noise that his Bleed of Ezio would come into the front. For a few moments, he would be in Monteriggioni, hearing the cannons and the sounds of fighting. For a very few moments, he would be filled with terror as he thought about his family. Where was his mother and sister? Were they safe? Did the cannon strike their rooms? Is Uncle Mario outsi-
“Desmond?”
One word.
His name.
And he would be Desmond again, laughing it off as a nightmare. Making up weird ‘dreams’ to make his team shake their heads in fond exasperation instead.
.
Water usually didn’t frighten Desmond or his Bleeds. But one time, Shaun pushed him into a pool because Desmond had said something that annoyed Shaun or another, Desmond wasn’t sure anymore, and his limbs grew heavy as he sank deeper and deeper. Any thoughts of knowing how to swim flew from his mind. All he could think about was that he was in the docks of Acre, accidentally falling into the waters while playing tag with Adha. He could hear the muffled shouts of ‘Altaïr!’ coming from Adha then… he realized that the shouts weren’t calling Altaïr. They were calling for him… for Desmond.
When Desmond’s head finally came above water, Shaun and Rebecca assumed he was joking around.
And Desmond just laughs instead of telling the truth.
.
The smell of blood would sometimes bring back the memories of their first kill regardless of which ancestor it is. Most of the time, Desmond could just ignore it. Killing people had become quite ‘normal’ for him and his ancestors after all. But sometimes, his hands would start to tremble as his Bleed of Haytham would remember the day. The smell of blood coming from his father’s corpse. The blood in his hands as he laid standing next to the first man he ever killed, hands trembling as he held the sword his father gave to him, the blood of his first kill coating both his hands and the blade itself. The scream of his mother that was muffled by the loud ringing of his ears. Whenever Haytham… No. Whenever Desmond remembered that, he always left the room where the scent of blood was coming from, pushing everything away and focusing on the mission at hand.
.
“Desmond.”
That was his name.
He was used to being called by that name.
He spent nine years being another person… of bearing another name…
But…
“Desmond.”
It was easy to return to being Desmond Miles.
It was easy to turn his head to where he heard someone say ‘Desmond’.
“Desmond.”
But…
“Desmond.”
His heart still beats too quickly.
His hands still tremble slightly.
“Desmond.”
He still fears the strike that would either come or not come.
No matter how much he covers it up with indignation, stubbornness or rage…
No matter how much distance he places between them…
No matter what other conversation they have, burying hatchets because there were more important things to focus on…
“Son.”
He still fears William Miles calling him.
.
(Thank you! I like to think that being nice comes easy for me in this blog because you’re all such lovely and understanding people :))

Ancient Greece left a mark in myths and literature, but do you know any Byzantine stories that are worth being recognised? Also do you know any stories by modern Greek authors that deserve the same hype as the old ones?
Yes! The issue with Byzantine literature is that too little survives and even less survives in full, which is a result of both the relentless warring and invasions of the Byzantine Empire from west and east alike and the loud indifference regarding the preservation of anything Byzantine for the longest time, as opposed to the mania with Ancient Greek literature.
Regarding Byzantine fiction in specific, which is what I think you are asking, I think three romance novels survive and an epic poetic one. That last one is the trademark of Byzantine literature:
Basil Digenés Akritas (Βασίλειος Διγενής Ακρίτας), 9 - 10th Century
This versed epic novel is the best known amongst the acritic songs. Those poems were about the exploits of the akrites, meaning the soldiers / guards living and protecting the borders of the Byzantine empire. Digenes Akritas was a hero coming from two different bloodlines, as also evident by his epithet "Digenes", his father was a Saracen emir and his mother was of Byzantine Greek noblility in Cappadocia. Digenes has essentially supernatural power - there are herculian parallels - and he is not infallible in his morals - the story narrates his bravery, manliness, exploits and romance(s), and his piety - in a paradoxical combo truly few could master as much as the Byzantines.
Tumblr media
Erotókritos (Ερωτόκριτος), 16 - 17th Century
The monumental versed romance of post-Byzantine and very early Modern Greece is this classic of Cretan literature, composed by Vitsentzos Kornaros. Incidentally getting written the same time as Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, I will go fully on record saying it's better than Romeo and Juliet. The reason I make this comparison at all is because the general concept is similar, although it unfolds entirely differently in the process; the forbidden love between two young people and the fierce objection of the parents. And also, because I don't get the fuss around R&J. Anyway, apart from the concept, the story is different, it's a friends to lovers, not enemies to lovers, one is a royal, the other is not, and the main character is , again, a super skilled warrior on top of everything else. The story is also set in a fantastical multi-Greek world: it's officially set in Ancient Athens, but it has Byzantine, Cretan, Greek folk and Frankish elements. The lovestory of Erotokritos and Aretusa remains the ultimate Greek romance and the poem has turned into folk songs that are well known and loved by all of us. The Cretan literature of the time produced more notable works, such as Erophile, which is super morbid and dark as hell, but I don't know much about it yet so I can't recommend it.
Tumblr media
As for Modern Greek literature, I am going to state another potentially surprising opinion. I do not consider myself an expert at it, however from the little I've read I like it wayyyy more than Ancient Greek literature, excluding the Homeric epics. Granted, it might have to do with how each can possibly resonate with us but it's also about the prose. This is subjective but I LOVE modern Greek prose and poetry. My mouth always threatens to drool when reading the Skiathitic dialect of Papadiamantis *shrug*.
You didn't ask about poetry but modern Greek poetry is 100% verified drool worthy. I don't know if you know Greek though, certainly translations aren't equal to the real thing. Still, I recommend the poetry of Odysseus Elytis, Giorgos Seferis, Constantine Cavafy, Giannis Ritsos, Nikos Kavvadias, Dionysios Solomos and so many more.
As for prose, I will start as a broken record once more, with the short novel "The Murderess" (Η Φόνισσα) by Alexandros Papadiamantis. You need no more description, that's all.
Here is a list of the 200 best modern Greek novels, as voted by readers. It's in Greek though. I didn't know it, but the Murderess is the most upvoted. I approve.
I will add nine more from this list to make a random Top 10 of classics:
Ματωμένα Χώματα (Bloody Earth) by Dido Sotiriou, 1962
Ένα παιδί μετράει τ' άστρα (A child counts the stars) by Menelaus Loudemis, 1956
Παραμύθι χωρίς όνομα (Fairytale without a name) by Penelope Delta, 1910
Η Μεγάλη Χίμαιρα (The Great Chimaera) by Manolis Karagatsis, 1953
Η Ζωή εν Τάφω (Life in the Grave) by Stratis Myrivilis, 1924
Ο Χριστός ξανασταυρώνεται (Christ, Recrucified) by Nikos Kazantzakis, 1948
Βίος και Πολιτεία του Αλέξη Ζορμπά (Life and Times of Alexis Zorbas) by Nikos Kazantzakis, 1946 (also known as "Zorbas the Greek" abroad...)
Το Τρίτο Στεφάνι (The Third Marriage) by Kostas Tachtsis, 1962
Η Πάπισσα Ιωάννα (Popess Johanna) by Emmanuel Roides, 1866
Το Νούμερο 31328 (Number 31328) by Ilias Venetis, 1931

Travelling Solo As a Young Woman: the do's and don't's
If you follow my Instagram, you'll know I spent a little bit of time abroad this year, following the sun from Australia all the way to Europe, just like every other Aussie from the east coast.
This wasn't the first time I've travelled, but it was the first time I did some of it completely solo without the comfort or fall back of a group tour or friends to meet up with.
As a 29-year-old, I have heard everything from the horror stories to the fairytales about why you should solo travel, and I'm here to tell you, it IS worth it.
I won't blabber on about how amazing it is and what a great time I had, because travelling is obviously one of my passions and I know how travellers can sound droning on and on about how good their most recent trip was.
That being said, it was amazing - but it wasn't without its downsides.
I'll start off with the negative aspects of solo travelling and end with the great ones.
First of all, it is scary - no matter how old you are. Particularly if you don't like being by yourself or you're not used to it. The first two days I was solo I definitely needed the me-time, but after that I was fully thrown into the deep end of introducing myself and meeting new people. For me this wasn't an issue - I am a generally friendly person and enjoy meeting new people, so I would just go right up to people and chat or make conversation with the people in my hostel rooms. This is obviously very specific to hostel situations, but the most important thing to remember is that if you are solo travelling and staying in and out of hostels, you are all there to meet new people and the other people staying there are most likely in the same situation as you or are expecting people to come and talk.
The other fear factor is for women and queer identifying people - being alone can be scary and often a threat to your safety. On this front I would say there are a few things that you can do to avoid getting into a bad situation.
The first one is ALWAYS trust your intuition !!!!! I cannot scream this enough. There will be times when you just know the vibes are off, trust those moments and get yourself to a safer environment or away from the people making you feel that way.
The second one is to be very selective of who you tell that you're travelling solo, particularly when you meet new people. One of my favourite ways to avoid the question of "are you alone" is to say I'm on my way to meet my friends, or that we are doing different activities that day and that we're meeting later. This gives the impression that people are waiting to hear from you that are immediately accessible should something go wrong.
The second tip I have for anyone looking to travel solo is to PACK LIGHT!! I didn't take my own advice and let me tell you, two months of dragging around 22kgs was DRAINING.
I would also recommend to get a backpack bag if you can - like a hiking bag. I'm travelling again in May and I will be investing in a bag that I can carry. Particularly in Europe, the stairs are abundant and everywhere. The roll-wheel suitcases are so irritating to pull around and if you have bad luck like me and many other people I met this year, the wheels can't take cobblestones and WILL break.
The third tip I have is to really think wisely about your itinerary. Make sure your travel days aren't ridiculously long because you didn't take into account train or plane transfer times. Also take night buses if you can in between locations - I did this in Turkiye between Olympos, Cappadocia and Istanbul and I'll be doing it again the next time I travel. Overnight buses save you a load of cash in flight fees and also a night's accomodation that you wouldn't be using. Plus it cuts out a travel day and you can enjoy more time in your destinations!
My last tip is to have fun. There will be people who put you down, think solo travel is stupid or try to dissuade you from going on the trip of a life time. I have heard all the shit that can be said when it comes to solo travelling from family members, acquaintances and people who don't even know me - I ignored it all and have had multiple amazing trips. So many of my life long friends have been made from travelling and I have learnt so much about myself along the way.
I think everyone should solo travel at least once in their life, we are all better people for it.
If you have any questions about solo travel that you think I can answer, please feel free to message me! Or let me know where you've been solo travelling or where your next destination is! There is nothing I love to chat about more than travelling.
Love you all, I'll be back here on a more consistent basis from here on out.
Chat to you all in the next one!
Love always,
G xx

I'm Tired
Scarlett Johansson x Reader
Tumblr media
Credit to GIF owner. GIF is not mine <3
Main Masterlist
Warning: death!Reader, Mama!Scarlett, Daughter!Reader, grieving, mention of bone cancer
The part that is written in Italic is flashbacks while with bold is thoughts
Y/n's Second POV
"M-Mama... It's o-okay-" A cough stopped you from continue calming your mother down. Scarlett just holds your hand, clutching hard while crying her heart out after she heard the doctor's explanation. You can't bare seeing her like this. This is why you kept the symptoms to yourself for merely years.
"No, it's not! You kept this for so long! I am your mother! I should have noticed it! It's my fault-" She broke down crying.
Again.
Tears keep running down your face, while one of your hands is holding your mother's face, stroking her beautiful face with love. You knew this day will come. You just let it flow so that no one would suffer just like you.
Fuck you bone cancer.
Wires around your body. Some of them are attached to your chest. Some of them are just attached to your arms. You remained a silent cry with your mother while holding your sister, Rose in your arms, sleeping soundly just the way she liked since the day she was born. She noticed. That's why you're here. That little 8-year-old girl is smart. For the rest of your 19 years alive, 8 years being a sister to her, you knew she has the purest heart, like your mother.
Scarlett Johansson. Your mother. Who should be in Cappadocia right now for a movie, is here after she cancelled her flight since Rose found you in your room, lying weakly on the floor with blood running from your nose and mouth.
"It's not your fault Mama." You're hoping she understands the pain you don't want her to be in. You don't. No. You can't see her sad. It feels like your heart is being ripped apart. You're grateful for your stepfather, Colin who keeps your secret very well. He's the one that founds out you had the cancer in the first place, bringing you for chemotherapy, buying your meds, cleaning your mess if you were sick, helping you creating excuses so your mother won't find out.
"Promise me, you won't tell Mama or else you know what I will do, Dad."
"I promise, but you need to tell me what's going on so we can make sure you get better. Got it? Scarlie won't be happy and she will be frustrated if she knew about your condition, Sugar."
Sugar. The nickname everyone close to you calls you. But your mother never calls you that. She always call you her sunshine. And you know this will be the biggest regret of her life because she never get to know your pain.
"How much pain are you in right now, sunshine?" Her teary face meet with yours and you smile weakly.
The pain is unbearable. You felt it everywhere over your body. It feels like the Death Reaper is sucking the life out of you. The thumping in your head, the soreness all over your body, the tense you feel in your nerves even with the smallest move can make you scream in pain. But you keep it in.
"It hurts, Mama." You can't speak anymore. It feels like torture with the wires around your body.
"I want them... off, Mama. P-Please..." You're referring to the wires because you can't take it anymore. You want your mother. Only her.
"Are you tired baby? Want Mama to call the doctor baby?" You nod, seeing more tears falling from her eyes as the both of you knew what it means. Scarlett got up from the chair next to the bed, heading outside before she comes back with a doctor and a nurse who come over to you, as your mother picked your sister gently. They pulled all the wires off you, leaving the oxygen mask on, letting you breath and calm down, feeling all those pain slowly drains down as you feel your mother lays your sister back next to you and when she attempts to sit back down, you stop her.
"Can I hug you, Mama?" Scarlett nodded immediately, getting on the bed and sat behind you, letting your body lean against her as you hug Rose's body close to you and you feel Scarlett's arms draping around you, and her lips on your forehead, and hearing her mumbling with tears falling on your face,
"You can sleep, baby. Shhh... Mama's here, sunshine. It's okay. Mama's okay. You look at her, knowing she's not even prepared for anything like this. You tried to talk, but you can't. Your breath feels stuck in your throat. You only can see Scarlett in front of you, nodding with small 'it's okay's from her lips and the things you hear before you sleep is,
"Mama loves you so much, sunshine. My only sunshine. You're not going to be in pain anymore, baby. I love you so much.."
I'm so sorry to write this but I even cried so ugly while writing this one-

for Marabelle, chapter 3 , The Beaumont Bash
"Auntie Bethany, for the Beaumont Bash this weekend, I am not sure what I should wear. Talking to Bertrand, he says to wear a formal gown. When I ask Max, he said to wear a party dress.
What do you suggest?"
"First of all, you look lovely in anything you choose. Second, if I had to choose between the two dresses, I would choose the party dress. It looks more modern than the traditional ball gown."
"Max invited the princes, shouldn't I be more formal?"
Bethany laughed, "No dear, I am pretty certain that the princes would prefer a more casual evening."
for King Liam Appreciation Week - King/Historian
One shot - untitled
"What would you say if I told you that we are going on an adventure this weekend?" Liam was standing in front of the bay window in his study with a broad smile.
Riley giggled, "Oh, my King, that look in your eye tells me that you found something spectacular!"
Liam walked around his desk, and pulled her close.
"How does riding in a hot air balloon at sunrise over vast valleys sound? Or staying at a luxury hotel inside of a cave within a sandstone cliff."
"I did. We are going to Cappadocia, Turkey."
OK, @txemrn watcha got??
Thank you for the tag @petiteboheme

wrt to the ask before this about Greek nationalism, I feel so, sooooo out of the loop in terms of having a connection to Greece like that because my dad, grandparents, and both sides of their entire family are from Istanbul/Cappadocia and left in the 60s for Canada, rather than to Greece with the rest of the 1920s population exchange. No one in my direct family has ever lived in Greece!!! My cousins' grandparents were exchanged so their memories are pretty typically Greek (to me) but my dad/grandparents NEVER lived in Greece as adults, never had Greek citizenship even(!!!), despite being Greek enough to be targets of rising Turkish nationalism. so I'd be at diaspora events and people were like yeah we go to Athens every other summer, the iiiiiiiiiiislands, etc. and I'm like uh....so what's up with Prinkipos :D and no one could relate. i'm also gay so between the not!Greek-ing correctly and the not!religiously accepted, it's kind of very awful :)
many Greeks in Greece 🤝 you: not traveling outside our country of residence and only seeing the Greek islands on posters + not accepted by the religion + feeling strangers to their Greekness/tradition (because of modernization and Americanisation)
Bonus round:
many Greeks in Greece 🤝 you: not having visited the places our family were expelled from
hope that made you feel right at home.....? /j 😂
(I assume you didn't travel there by the ask's wording. Please correct me if I am wrong)
It could be worth visiting north Greece if you can. Since many cities there have 70-80% descendants of Anatolian immigrants, you might feel some connection and build something on it for your identity.
I understand that even Greeks in Greece are at least united by a few more things (hatred for Koulis let's say) and don't face the same identity crisis as you. Yours doesn't sound like a nice predicament to be when you are searching for your identity and not even "your community" can provide a sense of belonging :/ So you are kinda "on the air", as we say here.
Your family is also more "Greek Anatolian" (incl. East Thrace) than "Greek from the mainland/islands" or "Greek from Cyprus", hence that makes you a minority from what I gather. Which is kinda similar to Anatolian Greeks coming to the mainland in 1920 and finding themselves among people they couldn't relate to in many ways. Only you are experiencing it on veeery foreign soil a few generations later, so extra suffering points for that 😬
The good thing is, the Anatolian Greeks made it. They built a future out of nothing in an environment that called them "Turk seeds", and their children lacked nothing in education and upholding Greekness compared to the rest of Greece. Their offspring is also rumored to be the most courteous, generous, cosmopolitan and laid-back people in the country. I don't think it has so much to do with the soil the Anatolian Greeks went after their expulsion because with these qualities you have the potential to excel anywhere. I trust there were some of these good elements in your upbringing (even subconsciously). So you will, too, shine with your type of Greekness and with whatever you have in your arsenal, even when your environment looks estranging.

Today we also celebrate the Holy Virgin Martyr Dorothea of Caesarea. Saint Dorothea was an eminent and beautiful maiden from Caesarea in Cappadocia. The administrator of the district, Sapricius, gave Dorothea into the care of two pagan sisters, Christina and Kallista, to turn her from Christ. But it happened the other way about: Dorothea succeeded in bringing both sisters to the Christian faith. Sapricius in fury ordered that the sisters be tied together back to back, cast into a vat of pitch and then set alight. He then condemned Dorothea to death. She listened to the sentence with joy and cried out: 'I thank Thee, O Christ, Thou Lover of souls, that Thou callest me to Thy Paradise and leadest me to Thy most holy court!' A nobleman, Theophilus, who was present laughed at these words and called out to Dorothea: 'Here, you bride of Christ; send me apples and wild roses from your bridegroom's paradise!' 'Yes; I'll do that!', the martyr replied. When Dorothea was at the place of execution, a handsome youth suddenly appeared with three marvellous apples and three red wild roses. This was an angel from God, and it was winter-time. At Dorothea's bidding, the angel took them to Theophilus and said: 'Here is what you asked for.' When Theophilus received the message and saw the gift, he was very much afraid. Everything within him turned topsy-turvy, and he rejected paganism and became a Christian. He was tortured and killed for Christ, and his soul quickly followed Dorothea's to the Lord's Paradise. May she intercede for us always + Source: http://archangelsbooks.com/proddetail.asp?prod=HTM-A377 (at Konaklar, Kayseri, Turkey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoS71qqh1CF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

If Cavernous ever WAS adapted to a visual medium, what other ideas do you have for shooting locations, actors, etc?
So like, my boring answer is that IRL if i was approached for an adaptation I ............ actually very much would not option the rights 😅
BUT if we ignore the boring answer? 👀 WELL.
Reiterating this ancient post I made about it - I'd want a 9-10 ep. series on Starz showrun by Catherine Hardwicke and starring Zazie Beetz as Joanna 100%. I actually don't have a ton of strong preferences for the other cast members! I have some faceclaims, but for most of those, idk if they'd work actor wise? Here's some ideas --
Irina - Maybe Alycia Debnam-Carey (she's a bit too young though) or Phoebe Tonkin?
Carmen - Auliʻi Cravalho is the obvious choice, and a pretty good one, but the vibes/look are not a bullseye!
Luka - Simon Baker.... but he's too old now. Could Sam Reid do it?????? I'd sure like to see him with the mustache.
Tati: Jodie Whittaker......? HM
The others are a huge question mark for me idk! Consider me open for suggestions!!
I imagine a huge ammt of it would have to be shot on a lot, but otherwise I think it would be a dream to shoot on location in Türkiye and Georgia. Locations like uhhh this cave monastery, and this cave monastery, oh and also this cave monastery? Or any number of mind-bogglingly cool historical sites/churches/ruins in this area. I think Cappadocia would cover a lot of ground on its own!
Ironically I'd probably shoot a lot of the caving-caving stuff in the USA's version of Georgia, because of Ellison's Cave, idk (and i highly doubt!) if you can get permits to film in here, but since this is a fantasy hypothetical world, I say I can. She's a stunner and very visually similar to Krubera, which is my fictional cave's sister cave, geographically.
......... and like, now that I'm here, thinking about it, if I couldn't get Hardwicke...... I'd want Baz and Catherine on it .................... 👀 omg. Wait. No. Omg...... can u imagine...
anyway, this is literally such a meandering answer aldkjfl;akjf and I don't want to go all the way down this rabbit hole because I think this story works best as a book! But ty for the ask, this is a fun thought experiment!

I wonder what the early Christians thought when they decided to just live in Cappadocia. I wonder if they were very focused on Virginity or something, I wonder if they said, "Lord, lead me not into temptation" and then they found the perfect place to settle, nice, secluded, easy to hide in, just dig into rock and make your home and pretend you're not there when the invaders come. I wonder if they thought this was a godsend when they settled into the place with the natural giant stone cock formations rising dozens of meters into the sky. I wonder if they told anyone who would listen, "no, no, these are just columns with a hat". I really do wonder.

I have some more photos of the Louvre and then I'm done with that, for now. I hope I won't have to seet a foot in there ever again, I just at every sound. All people I found were unconscious on the floor so I could just rush by, but trust me, there are more pleasant things than forcing your eyes shut and keep on walking.

Transcript of the first page: So: I didn't make it to the big door I have mentioned earlier, it would have required me to do some climbing and I don't think I'm able to do that (and live). What I saw from afar was this thing - a switch- on top of the door and lots of symbols. I assume someone used the correct ones already or they're still pondering over that, I couldn't see a place it leads to. Suggestion: it's Brother Obscura's tomb. He is indeed buried in Paris even though he was Spanish. So if that's him, someone wanted to make sure it stayed sealed. If this really is his tomb and the LV had ties to him, did they perhaps also hide the paintings there? I can only throw in tinfoils. The yellow paper is a page I found on one of the tables showing two correct symbols already. It shows this weird door and some text concearning the opening.

Transcript of the second page: Here's two pictures: the first one is a photo of what I found under a rock scanner, among other stuff in the mineral block like bones, rubble and probably rubbish, too. The second shows one of the containers next to the excavation. On the screens were articles talking about Nephilim and that they could shape-shift (wth), and the last one was speculated to have been found in Turkey, from the Jurhum tribe.

Transcript of the third and fourth page: I forgot to add this to the collection of pictures I have legally taken from Carvier's office. It is maybe the most information on the paintings I have collected so far. So, the paintings were indeed painted by Pieter van Eckhardt! Overpainted later by Brother Obscura for showing pure evil. He did it in the 1300s or 1400s and would hide the Sanglyph in them, probably in 5 pieces and that spread onto 5 paintings. I made this into a chart on the next page since it's so much I need to take into consideration now. My idea so far: 1. Eckhardt is super evil and has a pact with the Nephilim who make him immortal so he can live long enough to resurrect them and rebreed their race 2. He created the paintings and hides the five parts in them for some reason 3. The Lux Veritatis are having none of that and steal the paintings, let Obscura paint over them and hide them afterwards 4. Something happens, Eckhardt is silent for 500 years, I suspect they really tied him up in the castle Bouzor and he starts missing his art 5. For some reason, the engravings resurface from the monastery in Spain. Eckhardt hears this and wants them back. The LV will want to stop him, but he's on the run now as far as the monstrum kilings tell us. So how do you kill an immortal?

Transcript of the fifth page: Fayolah answered me. Finally. Bless this woman. She might be the key I needed and now everything I know has an almost solid base. Next to the mail I also put up a scan from the library, more on that later. Here's her mail first. She says she'll tell me anything she can about the Lux Veritatis. Mainly she works in Turkey, Cappadocia (where the remains of the stone in the Louvre come from) and there have been churches carved into rocks for Christians to hide in. They also had a tunnel system like Paris has today. A colleague of hers also stepped in to add the LV were part of the Templars, dissolved or not no one knows, and they also used weapons that referred to theri name: splinters of a talisman were used, blessed by the monks, named Periapt Shards. I have confirmation on what I know so far. In addition, he mentioned the looksd of them: the handle shows a lion, probably the Golden Lion mentioned in Nephilim prophecy, and the shards were given from one conqueror to the other. Three of them are mentioned, and the bible always uses numbers like 3 as lucky ones. Also, remember the depiction of the figure with the three knives around it in Fayolah's first mail? I think that's them. And they were inherited from father to son, I wonder if there's a son left today?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Transcript of the sixth page: Here's a picture of a sketch of a shard. I can't read whatever is supposedly written there but it fits the description of the look: an angry head, a splinter of a rock or gem, and the fanciness in general. The idea is that the LV needed a tool to destroy black magic and thus made the Shards. These go from father-son within the LV, material is unknown, it shows the Golden Lion for some reason, three shards are needed to kill evil OR are shared evenly within the Lux Veritatis every now and then to equip everyone with it, and they are splitters of some talisman/shiny rock/whaterever. The LV have wounded Eckhardt but not kill him as he's stilla round. Did they keep him alive on purpose or was it an accident he survived? He couldn't remove them himself I assume, it must haven been to holy to hold, right? Where do you leep a person like this you don't want anyone to see? At your own private party place? Or in the castle that's conceniently owned by your order... Yeah I'm not sure how I can prove that. I must have overlooked something I guess, I'll go through all my notes again. Meanwhile I haven't heard anything on Vasiley. What's he up to?

So I do know that in her lore, Lilith chose a cave to live in... What if that hasn't changed? Sure, it's in a modern setting, but it's not your typical home unless you live in Cappadocia.
