Lynx reintroduction in need of public support: the National Trust is restoring parts of Northumberland that could support a lynx population.
Wild lynx have been extinct in the UK for 1,300 years due to hunting and habitat destruction.
In an effort to rewild and rejuvenate the land, a family of beavers were reintroduced in 2023. Europe has had success with reintroducing both species.
Anyone who lives near should go to these exhibitions and voice their public support! It's such an amazing opportunity ❤
"We've lost so much wildlife, and the jigsaw of life is really quite broken, so bringing back species like beaver and lynx could really help restore nature," Mr Pratt, of Northumberland Wildlife Trust.
"The lynx has been successfully reintroduced in countries like Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and Slovenia."
"Lynx were once widespread in the UK but disappeared in medieval times because they were hunted for their fur."
It's literally called The Missing Lynx Project !!!! 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻

the one who trims
his sail
to the wind
is a wise man
I pull back the veil of my window
with a fingertip
the breeze greets me
the bedewed grasses
are thick, soft, and long
I'm grateful I'm alive
he looks up at the moon
like she is a dear friend to him
which means I am already
a dear friend to him
aren't I the daughter of the moon?
I feel my heart beat once
to his loneliness
twice it beats quickly
when his eyes
now full of moonlight
fall on me
I go to him
we crash like stars
warm arms
warm blood
his impatient hands
and an urgency
i don't understand
but know with increasing passion
he is the answer to everything
I ever sought
and want to know
body
into my
soul
I'll never forget the taste of him
it was freedom

It's October 6th, 🦡 United Kingdom (UK) National Badger Day. Some places in other countries around the world also observe the Badger on this day. Today is an opportunity for Badger Day promoters to highlight the plight of Badgers in the UK, where, by the end of 2022, the government will have killed more than 200,000 badgers since 2013 as part of an ignorant, misguided effort to reduce the incidence of bovine tuberculosis, despite convincing scientific evidence that this culling is making the problem worse.
Badgers are small omnivorous mammals that are related to ferrets, minks, otters, weasels, and wolverines. Scientists generally agree on three species: the Eurasian Badger, the Asian Hog Badger, and the North American Badger. Some scientists also include the fearless, more carnivorous Honey Badger in this group. All Badgers, despite their cuteness, are somewhat aggressive, but Honey Badgers take this to a more lethal level. When attacking beehives for their honey, they release debilitating fumes that spread throughout the hive, and when they attack large animals such as lions, they go for the scrotum. Honey Badgers also have built-in resistance to snake venom.
So far, the only Badger threatened with extinction is the Asian Hog Badger. (Actually, one species is one too many.) It’s listed as near-threatened because it's lost 30% of its population over the last three generations. The North American Badger, meanwhile, is doing very well with a population of several hundred thousand in the United States alone. Let's hope the culling in the UK ends soon so that the country’s Badger population doesn't become threatened, too. ☮️ Peace… Jamiese of Pixoplanet

When the universe keeps bringing you to a Dead ends
Well, it's not the time to worry
But, be excited
As the Universe is pushing you to take a leap
To take you to the new adventure

- better people
- better mentor
- better growth and calm
Trust the universe and take the leap of faith
Trust the whispers of your guiding angle in the breeze that flows through your hair

Bumper berry crop could save wildlife from winter storms
A bumper crop of hawthorn berries – reckoned to be the biggest since records began 20 years ago – is bringing a big boost for wildlife across Croydon’s commons and open spaces. Bumper crop: redwings and other birds enjoy the hawthorn berries Hedgerows and woodland across the nation are awash with the red berries which experts at the Woodland Trust are describing as one of the biggest ever…

Gouache painting of long-tailed tits for the upcoming book about my local nature reserve.
Long-tailed tits make stretchy nests from a base of moss and spider silk. On the outside they’re covered in lichen for camouflage and inside are lined with feathers for cosiness!

Here's a sweet encounter with a friendly robin 🤗 I've always felt a connection to these beautiful birds when I'm out in the wilderness photographing wildlife. I feel very lucky as I always seem to attract the sweetest ones 😊😊😊

It’s an oxymoron, but true: The dog is the closest thing to a saint that most of us have ever met. And that’s why Saint Dog is here.

If you live in the uk I really urge you to start mobilizing, protesting and getting hella mad at the changes to environment protections that this government is proposing. Fracking starting again, wildlife protections getting scrapped, lack of regulation on new developments. It’s solely for money. Money soley for the already rich. We all know how important the environment is for us, once these things go its almost impossible to get them back.
