I love borderline so much like it's such a creative concept and you're doing such an amazing job!!! I want to ask, I hope this isnt rude, and if so you can ignore this, but are you planning on adding any superbat to it? I was thinking that through the bond it's absolutely possible for the kids to find out if B is dating clark, or if he has feelings for him maybe even if nothing has happened between them? I'd love to read your thoughts about, even if it wont be included in the fic... like how would you approach that?

The way I’ve felt instinctively about adding superbat to this fic (because as y’all know, I love superbat but I also write Bruce & Clark platonically with equal vigor) is that it would have to be a sort of unrequited, unmentioned thing between them if it did happen.

I think where this fic could shine for them is in illuminating how deeply Bruce cares for Clark and trusts him as a sort-of equal.

The batkids will definitely call him out on those feelings eventually, but anything he’s had established with Clark (platonic or not) would likely be minimal before this fic takes place.

fact is, lacy doesn’t want her own kids. lot of factors here, and none of them to do with eddie as a dad—i wrote about that a little bit here.

to me, it’s what makes the dynamic between her and frankie grow to be so moving. lacy has no fucking idea how to talk to kids, to teenagers, how to parent, nothing. but she knows she needs to now, in order to support eddie (who is, to no one’s surprise, freaking the fuck out but desperately trying to Be A Dad) and support this poor kid that’s shown up on her doorstep. frankie has a mom already, one who’s shown him the world (or at least some of the best hotels in america), but her actual presence in his life is a massive absence. he doesn’t really know how it feels to be parented, and neither did lacy when she was his age.

it makes lacy realise she wants to give frankie what she could have used when she was a kid. first and foremost being real genuine warmth, the kind that she’s found in the home eddie has made for her.

(‘kid’s stayed in the plaza more times than i’ve had bad shrooms, lace. what the hell are we supposed to do with him? what the hell am i… how do i…’ ‘well, eddie, he needs structure, right? like curfew. movie night. made up traditions. oh! mandatory family dinner!’)

in this part of the story, everyone is freaked out by everyone. everyone’s tripping over the right thing to do. but lacy and frankie kind of find each other as these weird confidants, and i really love how challenging and tender their relationship becomes.

But yeah it is, an extremely shitty situation. Esp bc they seem to assume I've got the same information/am in the same situation as them when I'm, very much not and I've been vocal about that since everything happened ... + the whole ... "oh he's not ignoring you/he still cares abt you/you just need to reach out" spiel that same friend has been going on abt for months too just. Makes me feel so alienated from the reality that I'm experiencing, if that makes sense? Like. She knows he flirted w me, had sex w me, and then stopped talking to me after that under the excuse that he was oh so busy .. and yet I'm still the one that needs to reach out?

Sometimes I genuinely wonder if I've overreacted just bc of the way that I feel everyone underreacts. Not to even mention the fact that mutual friends of me and B will say that hey what happened sucked and i didn't deserve that and B is being a dick, but as far as i know none of them have actually said to his face that hey B you've been a dick.
