A Cantrip Wreathe I made for a client, which involved empowering and aligning the virtues of eight Botanical Spirits within a framework of Knot Magic.
In this Wreathe, eight knots are underpinned by Nutmeg, Wishing Bean, Jezebel Root, Beth Root, High John root, Master Root, Cinammon Stick, and Lucky Hand root, respectively. The ninth and final knot serves to bind these virtues together synergistically, forming a new 'alloy' of virtues specialized for the given task.

Hi, I’m making a witch’s ladder for protection and I’m stuck trying to think of objects to tie into it. Do you have any suggestions?
Witch's ladders are usually made from sticks, twigs, or feathers, depending on what materials you have available. You can use feathers or sticks from the craft store, natural twigs and sticks you find sitting around, or legal and ethically-sourced feathers from reputable dealers. (I will note that this last is hard to find since the laws dealing with the sale and trade of animal parts are very strict.)
For a simple one, I'd recommend craft sticks or twigs from your yard, since that's probably the easiest material to gather. Make sure you use strong jute or kitchen twine to put it together and try to keep the sticks horizontally balanced so it doesn't tilt. Tie a prism or a bell or a clutch of wind chimes at the bottom to give it weight and a focus.
Hope this helps!

Witch's ladders were made with knotted cord. Each knot contained a feather and a curse. This example was found in the roof of a Somerset house.

‘Philip never could have changed and that’s why he’s tragic’ no!!!! Philip absolutely could have changed, that’s why he’s tragic! this man spent 400 years marinating in the culture and experience and people of the place that he was going to commit genocide in and he never once allowed himself to even consider the possibility that everything he was doing was wrong. he had all the time in the world and chose not to.

NEW IDEA 2024
Insects are truly the kings of the earth. Their complex, brutal, strange and magnificent world undoubtedly carries fabulous magic.
Why not raising insects (with great respect) with notions of planetary witchcraft and communicating with them to request a possible magical collaboration? A whole microcosm to recreate with feathers, threads and stones...the art of witch ladders...

A pretty good outline to base your knot magic off of! Witches ladders as a whole are also really interesting. Always remember you can alter a lot of stuff to fit you better, spells included.
