Did answer this already, but I guess other than that first thing, maybe it's the roles that I mentally assign the boys? They tend to bleed out even when I'm not intending, and even when the story doesn't even heavily feature them (somehow)

💖 What made you start writing?

Loneliness, if I'm being completely honest. Which is a really depressing answer, I'm sorry XD I didn't have a lot of friends growing up so I spent most of my time at the public library, reading books. At some point I just... picked up a pen and started writing (very, veeeery simple and dumb) little stories. Books have always made me feel less alone and writing did the same thing to some extend. Although I will say that after starting to share what I write (both back in the 2010s and now), I've become much happier - and much less lonely :3

👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!

Sure thing, my dear. Lemme seeeee... Oh, right, let's go with Fangy Clark then! Here's my very sloppy summary, that I'm pulling out of my ass as I type this:

Clark gets hits with a curse on a mission and at first it seems like he's okay - the witch is even surprised that nothing's happening and runs away. The curse is supposed to make Clark go insane, to go on a rampage, tearing buildings - and people - apart with his inhumane strength. But Clark has always had to have perfect control of himself and his powers so he's able to fight back the curse.

For a little bit, anyway...

Because the witch doesn't know that Clark is Kryptonian, he just knows that Superman has powers, so he must be a metahuman, right? Which is what the curse is targeting. But Clark isn't human and the curse doesn't work as expected. Instead it works slower and while Clark doesn't go on a rampage, he feels this itch underneath his skin. He feels irritated, agitated. He snaps at his teammates, he very nearly tears the witch apart with his own hands - and that's not who he is, even through the haze in his mind Clark can tell that something's definitively wrong.

Batman can too. Bruce asks - demands - him to come to the cave to get checked out. When Clark gets there though, something... something seems to have snapped. Snapped into place, snapped part of his reasoning he's not sure. He just knows that when Diana approaches Bruce, he wants to tear her throat out with his teeth.

His teeth, which are now protruding from his mouth as he snarls at her. She can't go near Bruce. Bruce is... Bruce is... Bruce is his.

....um. I didn't mean to write it like that but here we are. I hope that makes any sense at all XD hehehe

my italian regulus classical vocalist au, se sempre nel mio cuore🤭 regulus is fresh out of uni after graduating as a prodigy 23-year-old with his doctorate in vocal performance pedagogy. he’s renowned as the greatest countertenor of the age within the classical community, and although he loves what he does and singing gives him euphoria as a transmasc genderfluid person and an outlet since they’re selectively mute, they miss the life of normalcy they never got to have. in walks rich 33-year-old james “i haven’t sung in years and have no connection to the classical world so i have no idea who you are” potter who signs up for voice lessons because he’s just moved to florence to expand his business and needs a hobby desperately. regulus agrees over the phone to teach him not expecting much, then in walks this Literal God with the most beautiful baritone and regulus keeps giving him love arias in romance languages because he’s just so lovely. meanwhile james is also in love at first sight, and they both know it, so he uses the songs to charm up regulus as best he can, and regulus uses them to communicate her feelings.

For the ask game, this question please.

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

This one is actually kind of tricky because it depends a lot on what character I'm writing and the circumstances they're in. Like, there are certain characters I feel closer to, or characters who have similar weaknesses and insecurities as I do, which means I'll react stronger whenever those are addressed.

But, overall, I'd say moments that involve a feeling of not being good enough, especially not being a good enough person or not being good enough for a relationship. And it doesn't have to be a romantic relationship — platonic or familial works too. Sometimes, that's even worse, in all honesty.

And that's probably because that's something I've struggled with myself. I had a couple of years during my mid-twenties when I was convinced I was an incredibly selfish and unkind person, simply because that was what I was being told by some of the people around me. We're talking full-on emotional abuse along the lines of: "you're a heartless, selfish bully and you're lucky I put up with you since you're such a terrible person."

And since it was from more than one person — and the people who disagreed didn't know about the abuse and therefore couldn't tell me it was bullshit — I believed them. Clearly, if more than one person tells you that you're not good enough — and those people don't actually know each other and can coordinate an attack — then it must be true, right?

So that kind of storyline always hits very close to home for me, because I know what it's like to genuinely think you're a terrible person who has nothing to contribute to the people around you. And I also know how difficult it can be to overcome, especially if you've lived with it for years. It's rough.

Fun fact: This abuse led to an existential crisis when I joined a Winteriron server on Discord (of all things) and I started talking to new people who, within literal days started challenging my perception of myself. I spent the first couple of weeks terrified of the moment people would stop talking to me because they'd figured out I was a bad person. But, spoiler alert — it never happened. Instead, they did the opposite, turning to me for advice and comfort, and telling me how kind I was.

And the whole thing came crumbling down, rather inconveniently, at 2 AM on my wedding night. Like, I legit asked my newly minted wife — who was trying to sleep — if I was a terrible person because, if I was, I figured she'd know. Or at least deserved to know, considering that she was now married to me. And her reaction was, to my confusion, not a confirmation but something along the lines of: "What the actual fuck? You're one of the kindest, most generous people I know. Why do you think I married you?"

It was, as they say, A Ride.

And my wife has now decided that any future existential crises must be scheduled between 7 AM and 11 PM because she needs her sleep, dammit.

Always! I love it when people want to talk about my work, and I'm always willing to answer questions, consider ideas, or just yammer about the thing I love to do :)

There have been a few times, yes. It really only works with multi-chaps, but I wanna think I got surprised by someone guessing the direction on Flight To My Heart. I can't remember what it was precisely though, since it's been like two years (holy shit!)

I will say though, for The Inner Hero, someone did accurately guess what Hyrule's dark world form will be! I haven't had occasion to slip it in anywhere, but it will in fact be a phoenix!

Good question! I think the answer would be "trust"! Most of my fics focus on dynamics and relationships and how they are impacted by whatever scenario I place the boys in. I never realized until I paused here to think, but they're all colored by either a lack or presence of trust! Or, in some cases, to loss or gain of trust!

Ohhh, I do both actually! I've always been more of a 'just write down whatever and see where it takes you' type of writer, but in recent years I've had fun planning stuff out too. I don't plan out everything though; I need the freedom to have my characters run around corners with me, lol. I think my favorite way to write is the two-in-one where I get an idea (typically a piece of a conversation) and write it down and then try to plan around that idea :3

Um... Look, I wanna say Bruce immediately but I'm not sure that's right. I mean, I do enjoy writing Bruce but I've been really into writing the 'sunshine with deeper scars' characters recently (Clark, Goku, Sanji etc) so um. I think this week it might be Clark? for graveyards im not sure how funny it is to the reader but im especially fond of the moment when pete climbed over the gate at the safehouse and then flipped off the security camera knowing vegas was watching and directing that at him specifically lol (that was pretty amusing to me lmao pete you amazing little shit)

theres probs a name for this trope but idk what it is- but i love writing pairings that are having casual (maybe on the down low) sex and then figure out the feelings thing afterwards. i find that so especially satisfying because the intimacy is there the sexual chemistry is obviously there too and just when theyre starting to get too pleased about having an awesome friends w benefits/ enemies? w benefits situationship then out of nowhere the feelings come in and bonk them on the head too hahahahahahaha. its so great and so so fun to write. in another world, i would have liked pete and vegas sneaking around for a lot longer in the graveyards fic and having sex without anybody else realising what they were doing at first but alas it did not work out like that and they ended up rushing into an intensely obvious and committed relationship that anybody could see from space whoops haha

Absolutely yes,

Id say impulsive I have two based on what work,

My very first (and fav) was my villain Shinsou Hitoshi (from a now semi permenant hiatus fic) who basically went "Fuck it we ball" finding out his best friend and extended found family were all villains (also he switched teams SO FUCKING FAST)

Tim from "Drakes Spoiled Brat" fits this actually very well. His impulse control is in the negatives. This guy went "Oh someones being harassed? Let me cause a distraction- this champage tower will work" The only reason it hasnt gone to shit is hes amazing at improving what the fuck he needs to do as damage control after said impulses.
