Reluctant
I had a social incident yesterday. Not sure yet if it is a big or small one. I made something out of a material someone gave me years and years ago. And after I made it into something I gave it back to the person who gave me the material. In my head, I feel it was a great circulatory moment. But the facial expression on that person was not great. Even as thick as I am at picking up facial cue, I…

You need to read and not project.
I never once said people with a diagnosis didn't go through what I went through.
I was writinig about my experience as someone neurodiverse without diagnosis to that effect, and more specificaclly why someone in my position would cling hard to a diagnosis as an identity.
Never did I say that people with diagnosis didn't live like that or experienced what I experienced.
I was confused by such an odd assumption, so I re-read what I wrote, and believe this is the offending statement: "As we had no diagnosis, we were socially assaulted with this idea that these labels were the result of our choices." Perhaps you read this to mean that I was saying people with a diagnosis are immume (or something?), but that is not what I meant. I merely meant that, for me and people like me, the symptoms were described as choices, and as a child, there wasn't a way for me to even question the validity of such assertions. There was literally no way for me to know that what People In Authority were saying about me was factually incorrect. Beacuse I had no concept of physiology could be playing a role here.
I say that specifically because I did have a fewe ADHD-diagnosed peers, and all of them articulated an understanding about their behavior that I simply didn't have. People In Authority still berated them and treated them like crap, but they had some understanding that the People in Authority were wrong. Whether or not that did them any good back then, I can't say, as that's not my experience. But it was a point of knowledge I simply didn't have and, I believe I (meaning, me personally) would've benefitted from having back then because of how I viewed myself and how I saw the world.
As for diagnosis being an avenue of abuse - when did I say that it wasn't? Again, my point was about why someone who was diagnosed as an adult would cling to it as an identity. Because we are struggling to heal from a lot of trauma, and we see that diagnosis as a kind of shield for want of a better term.
I have a rare neurological disorder, and I was misdiagnosed / medically misunderstood a lot as a child/preteen/teen/adult. I know how a diagnosis can be abuse. I also know how a diagnosis can be used to dismiss other serious medical concerns, compounding the issue. I, too, don't want to detail my medical abuse history, so I won't.
I guess the question is this: what are you expecting to change here? How does the fact that you grew up with medical abuse specific to a certain diagnosis impact the dialog in this case? Especially when the abuse came in the form of specific treatment and we're talking about diagnosis-as-identity labels.
man it's weird when people talk about disabilities like they're Identity Categories

I know this is a few days late, but with how you were talking about Waking Dreamer (which I love btw) recently, I wanted to jump in and say you shouldn't worry too much about catering to your typical whump readers. Psychological whump is just as valid as physical whump. And personally I was drawn to Waking Dreamer because of the cool worldbuilding and degree of mystery it has more than the actual whump in it. Write what you want! It's your story and the rest of us are just along for the ride. <3
thank you 😭😭😭

The story of Kai waters (Part 10)
There should be like 1-2 more chapters, then there will be no more. Thank you all for the positive feed back. Please send in imagines.
Part 1     Part 9
Word count: 1853
The next day was the same. Breakfast. Fears. Lunch. Etc Etc.
It finally rolled around to Friday. The ranks. We had all gathered in the pit before dinner. Four and Eric were about to reveal the rankings. The top ranks get to pick their job first.
    1: Kai Waters
    2: Tris Prior
    3: Maddie Christle
Oh my god. I made it to the first rank. I can’t believe this. Well, I mean I can, since it is right there. Everybody started yelling, and hugging each other. Eric jumped down from the ledge he was standing on, and walked over to me. He pulled me to him tightly. He pressed his lips to mine hard.
“I’m so proud of you.” He whispered.
“Thank you.” I whispered into his chest. I looked at him, and smiled. I grabbed the back of his head, and pulled his lips down to mine.
    “Are you ready?” He asked.
I nodded, “for the party, or the other thing?” I asked not wanting anyone to overhear us.
“Both.” He smiled. I nodded, and smiled. I can’t believe I actually made it. He grabbed my hand, and we walked to the cafeteria. We grabbed a tray of food, and sat down. This time though, Eric and I sat with Izzy, Richard, and Dean. We also were accompanied by Four, Tris, and Max. I’m not really sure why Four and Tris decided to join us, Since Eric and I don’t really get along with either of them.
“Congratulations.” Tris smiled at me from across the table.
“Thanks.” I smiled. “Congratulations to you too.”
Tris smiled and nodded, “Thanks.” I smiled and looked down at my food.
“I can’t believe you got into the first rank!” Izzy said excitedly. “What are you going to do?”
“I’m not sure yet. Probably become leader or something.” I said smiling and glancing over at Eric who was talking to Max.
“What about you? You got 5th place didn’t you?” I asked.
“Yeah. I’ll have to see what I can get. I want to do tattoos.” She explained.
“Hey sorry we never got around to getting tattoos this week.” I apologized. Due to all the training, and everything we both lost track of time.
“It’s cool. We can get one next week.” She smiled. I smiled and nodded, although I knew that we would never get to it.
“So you’re going to become leader, Kai?” Four asked.
I looked up at Four, “Yeah. I think that would be best.” I said.
“I can see that. Maybe you could teach Eric a thing or two.” Four smiled.
Eric didn’t seem to notice. He was still deep in conversation with Max. “Yeah I bet I could teach him a few things.” I smiled.
Four smiled and went back to talking to Tris. After about 40 minutes dinner was over. Now it was time for the party. Also where we start with the new serum Erudite created. Apparently, Abnegation has a box somewhere. I don’t know what exactly it is, but Jeanine says it’s important. I’m not sure she even knows what’s in it.
Eric grabbed my hand, and slightly nodded to me. We all stood up and headed to the pit. Eric and I headed off to one of the meeting rooms before we reached the pit. No one else seemed to notice which was good. Inside the meeting room Max and Jeanine stood waiting. There was little gun looking things lying on the table.
“What’s this?” Eric asked. I stood in between Eric and Max.
“This is a serum gun. It was a needle inside, but you don’t have to refill it or get new ones.”  Jeanine explained. “It will make the whole process much more quick and easy. Everything is supposed to go into action in the morning.”
Eric and I nodded. We were ready. We all grabbed a serum gun, and headed out into the pit. I walked over to Maddie.
    “What’s this?” She asked confused.
“It’s a tracking device. It’s for your safety. Everyone has to get it. I already did, and you barely feel it.” I explained and she slightly nodded moving her hair away from her neck. I pressed it to her neck and injected her with the serum.
I did that to multiple people. Except Izzy and them. Eric got Tris, while I got Four. Eric and I covered a lot of people together. Eventually, we all got everyone. Well everyone except the 4 of us. Now it was time to just enjoy the party. Eric brought me a drink. He put his arm around my waist, and pulled me close to him.
“I’m so proud of you. Thank you for going through with this. I love you.” He whispered into my ear.
“Thanks, but I didn’t do much. Thank you for being here for me when no one else was. I love you too.” I smiled. I stood there with Eric for a while. Everyone was in groups laughing and talking. Soon, all of this will be different. I leaned my head against Eric’s shoulder, and smiled.
Eric pulled me in front of him, and smiled. “I’ve never felt this way about someone.” He smiled and pulled me into a hug. He swayed back and forth throughout the hug. The party was alright. Not much really happened. Every once in awhile it would get really loud. People slowly started leaving. One group at a time.
Finally late that night Eric and I left. With our fingers intertwined we walked back to the apartment. Eric opened the door, and we walked in. We changed into our night clothes and crawled into bed. Our legs intertwined, and my head laying on his chest.
“Are you ready for tomorrow?” I asked.
“Yes, it shouldn’t be that hectic.” He explained, as he rubbed circles into my back.
We both drifted off to a peaceful sleep. That was one of the last few peaceful sleeps we got.
“Kai, time to get up.” Eric said slightly nudging me.
I slowly sat up. Eric was putting on his shoes. I rubbed my eyes, and got up. I wore my usual all black. I walked to the bathroom, and washed my face and teeth. “Ready?” I asked walking out.
“Yes, Ma’am.” Eric said grabbing our coats. He handed me mine. I slipped it on, and we headed out. We walked down the hall, and entered the pit. Everyone, besides us 4, were like zombies.
“Watch them closely. If one of them is out of line it means that the simulation didn’t work.” Eric explained.
Max was talking to Jeanine on the other side of the pit. When he stopped and walked over to some guy. Then, all of a sudden Max pulled him out of line.
“What’s your name?” Max asked knowing now that the guy was a divergent.
    “Alex.” The guy muttered scared.
Max didn’t even say anything. He only responded by pulling out his gun, and shooting him in the head. I flinched slightly and turned my back. Eric wasn’t behind me like I had thought. He was over in Tris’s face saying something. She didn’t move a muscle. Max said something, and Eric turned away from Tris.
“Thank you, Kai. For joining us.” Jeanine said from behind me.
I spun around, “No problem. I’m happy to help.” I smiled, and so did she. Eric and Max walked up.
“Are you ready?” Eric asked. I nodded and grabbed his hand. We both grabbed a gun of the table, and then Eric and I headed for the train, while Jeanine and Max stood back until everyone was out. Eric and I got on the first train car. Today we didn’t have to catch the train. It was waiting outside for us. One by one each car was filled and soon we were off. We headed out towards Abnegation. Surprisingly enough I’ve never been to this part of town.
-
We arrived in the Abnegation section, and jumped off. Soon every dauntless member did the same. They held their guns up and started on their route. Eric and I did the same. He took the front side of the house, while I entered the back side.
We would lead the residents outside, and into a group where other dauntless members would watch them. I felt a like something was wrong. Like it isn’t about everything that was going on, but more with myself. Like internally. I pushed it to the back of my mind, and continued to clear the houses.
I walked out the front door of one of the houses. I heard talking come from a few houses down. I stepped out into the street, and next door I saw Eric talking to Four. Well a robotic looking Four, then I saw Tris step around the corner and point her gun at Eric. Max walked up, and pointed his gun at Four. I wasn’t going to stand, and watch this. I sprinted towards them, and pointed my gun at Tris’s head. I could see Tris stiffen, and so did Four.
“Put the gun down.” Tris hissed at Eric.
“You first, bitch.” I muttered behind her.
Tris held her ground, and so did I. She clicked a bullet into place. As did I. “Honey, You shoot him you don’t even want to know the type of pain I will put you through. Lower your gun. Now.” I hissed.
“Him first.” She said gesturing towards Eric.
“Eric, Please.” I muttered. Eric hesitated, then clicked the bullet back into the chamber. Everyone else did the same. I quickly reached down, and grabbed Tris’s gun.  I pointed my gun to her head. Eric and Max grabbed Four. We walked them over to the house Jeanine was waiting in. Tris flinched when I pulled her arm. I noticed a dark spot on her shoulder where she must have gotten shot.
We brought them to the house that Jeanine was in. Jeanine’s guards walked over, and grabbed Tris and Four. We nodded and walked out.
We continued on clearing out  houses for the rest of the day. One by one. Eric and I stayed back while Jeanine and Max went to the dauntless compound where all the computers were being kept. Eric and I decided to stay in one of the empty houses. I walked upstairs to one of the bathrooms to clean up. I was looking through some cupboards when I noticed a little box.
I reached up, and grabbed it off of the top shelf. Pregnancy test. I noticed my period was a week late, but I assumed it was because of stress. Now thinking about it, it wouldn’t hurt to make sure. I turned and locked the door. I opened the box and pulled out the little blue stick. I took the test and set it on the counter. I paced back and forth so many times in that tiny bathroom. Finally, after what felt like hours. It was done. I closed my eyes and grabbed the test. I took a deep breath then opened my eyes.
                                              Two little pink lines.
                                                       Pregnant.

i’ll write up a longer post about it tomorrow probably but basically what i’m thinking for ella’s f*antastic b*easts verse is that she’s likely working of her own accord to help track g*rindelwald. she’d originally wanted to become an auror, having been heavily qualified to be one, but her distrust in the ministry and M*ACUSA derailed those ideas. with madame and her family being pure-bloods, believing heavily in blood purity and their complete control over the muggle world, ella was neglected and abused by her because of ella’s mother being muggle-born. they’re likely followers of g*rindelwald or at least are eventually.
she’s essentially an informant, distancing herself from the wizarding governments while still trying to do some good, and does a lot of work to try and help with some more petty crimes against the ministry. her main focus is really on g*rindelwald, as her step-mother is likely a follower of his and she worries heavily for her sisters safety. she regularly disguises herself and lies about her identity in order to make herself less assuming, as most people already underestimate her abilities not only as a witch but as someone who could so easily betray someone’s trust ( even when they really fucking deserve it )

Language alone protects us from the scariness of things with no names. Language alone is meditation.
Stop thinking about saving your face. Think of our lives and tell us your particularized world. Make up a story. Narrative is radical, creating us at the very moment it is being created. We will not blame you if your reach exceeds your grasp; if love so ignites your words they go down in flames and nothing is left but their scald. Or if, with the reticence of a surgeon’s hands, your words suture only the places where blood might flow. We know you can never do it properly—once and for all. Passion is never enough; neither is skill. But try. For our sake and yours forget your name in the street; tell us what the world has been to you in the dark places and in the light….Language alone protects us from the scariness of things with no names. Language alone is meditation.

quite literally nobody asked for this and it's a very niche crossover but this is what i think the spicy six's favourite aew wrestlers are/what each one's relationship is with wrestling
apologies in advance, i got really into writinig these lol.
starting off with the person who i think really got a lot of them into wrestling, robin. i like to think her whole sexuality awakening happened after she couldn't sleep one night, she tried to sneak downstairs to get herself a snack but her dad was up late watching wwe. transfixed by the female wrestlers on the screen, her dad thankfully mistook it for an interest in the sport and started letting her stay up late on wwe nights to teach her all about wrestling - the moves, the lore, the trickery of performance. she does end up loving the technical side of things soon enough, her and her dad go to a lot of indie matches together. she started watching aew when cm punk returned, but her favourite very quickly became nyla rose, especially when she learned about nyla being the first openly trans wrestler in the american pro circuit.
nancy initially doesn't take an interest in wrestling when robin starts trying to teach her about it. she thinks that it's all staged and she doesn't understand how people can believe that it's real. then one night she walks into the room to see robin watching dr britt baker, d.m.d. nancy asks robin isn't it misleading to tell people she's a doctor? robin explains that britt baker is an actively practicing dentist who also happens to show up and wrestle 1-3 times a week. nancy starts taking an interest in britt's fighting style specifically - something about being someone who helps others in need by day and a badass who throws people around at night is nancy's dream. nancy doing so is also robin's dream, but a very different kind. robin finds it hilarious when nancy starts cheering for specific moves, ooh-ing when moves look and sound especially painful, and continuing to watch long after britt's matches have ended.
eddie is also a wrestling sceptic, but for a different reason. he doesn't understand how people can watch something where the entire premise is grown men in skimpy outfits putting their hands all over each other and take it seriously. enter the obvious favourite for eddie: danhausen. eddie completely embodies that chaotic little gremlin man. he runs around doing the t-rex hands and the stare, 'cursing' everyone that defies him. he makes 'very nice' and 'very evil' patches that he puts on each side of his vest. steve draws the line at eddie trying to recreate danhausen's face paint, but he does find it funny when eddie shouts "send hook!" at him as he gets a bag of chips thrown at his face. he starts letting robin teach him about other wrestlers' backstories, feuds etc and he gets super invested. robin starts noticing some familiar-sounding lore from the npcs in eddie's dnd campaigns, but she doesn't call him out on it, she's just happy he's taking an interest.
steve certainly has a soft spot for hook, not just for the hookhausen parallel but also the whole legacy of hook being taz's kid, his commitment to the bit of being silent and stoic (aside from with danhausen ofc), his overall performance. but above all else, steve loves watching mjf. it started off with robin excitedly telling him about the cm punk/mjf rivalry, and he'd happily listen to her ramble and he'd watch with her if they were hanging out together, but he never went out of his way to watch it. apart from the dog collar match, of course. he offered to cover that pay-per-view, which robin had to really fight herself not to tease him about. robin's interest in mjf dwindles after his rivalry with cm punk, but steve gets really into the mjf/wardlow arc. he watches every episode of dynamite and rampage, and every ppv, just in the hopes for crumbs in their development.
jonathan has been into wrestling for pretty much his whole life. will even says he used to take inspiration from characters he and jonathan would make up, but jonathan's characters would always be wrestling personas he always wished he could perform as someday. jonathan prefers the indie circuit most of all, he isn't so keen on how wwe operate, but he watches njpw and aew religiously and, more importantly, silently. one day, when robin's telling the group about the bullet club, she gets hangman adam page and adam cole mixed up. jonathan quietly corrects her and her jaw drops. she starts shouting at and shaking him asking why he never told her sooner, which nancy soon puts a stop to, reminding robin that she's gonna scare him off. they chat away for hours over it, none of them have seen jonathan talk this animatedly about anything and steve jokes that none of them would have gotten dragged into being wrestling fans if this had all happened sooner. jonathan's all-time favourite pro is kenny omega, but he's pleased to see cesaro claudio castagnoli out of wwe, too.
argyle just kinda passively watches any wrestling that jonathan does, he isn't especially into any particular feuds or backstories, sometimes he asks jonathan what certain moves are called or whether he's seen this wrestler fight another that he happens to know the name of. however, whenever willow nightingale is on the screen, argyle is hyp. no. tised. no strain of weed has ever rendered him as incapacitated as watching her. the others start making a game out of what they can do to mess with argyle for as long as she's fighting. jonathan brags one time about how he'd saved up to go watch an indie show in new york and so he'd actually watched her perform live and argyle still asks him about it.

Not Quite So Alone
So…I saw Spider-Man: Homecoming and I loved it SO MUCH! And I just had to try to write something for it…because I need dad!Tony moments in my life please and thank you… Also, I’ve never written any marvel characters before, and I’m not sure how well I did, but I tried!
This is really just a short little drabble, and it’s not really spoilery either. I think I mentioned like one thing in the movie and that was it. So, if you haven’t seen the movie you could probably still read this but if you don’t want to just in case I put it under the cut.
Everything was a blur. Peter couldn’t think, couldn’t feel anything. His body followed directions mindlessly. All he could see was the explosion, and his aunt’s body on the ground. She had to be okay. That was his mantra. He kept repeating it to himself, because if he stopped he knew he would lose it. Because he couldn’t lose any more family. Aunt May was the only one he had left, if he lost her he would be alone.
Voices echoed around him, only when a nurse put a hand on his shoulder to stop him, did some semblance of reality hit him. He tried to keep walking, he had to stay with her, he had to know she was going to be okay. Arms grabbed him, and he struggled against them. But exhaustion from the fight, and the numbness of shock had weakened his body and he lost the battle. Allowing himself to be lead to the waiting room, Peter sat down, before immediately standing up again.
As tired as he was, he couldn’t stay still, not when he didn’t know if she was going to be okay. He was dimly aware of doctors talking, but he couldn’t focus on what they were saying. His eyes flickered to the door where Aunt May had been taken as he fought the urge to rush back there and make sure she was okay.
Minutes passed slowly, the shock slowly wore off, but worry still weighed him down.
Sit. Pace. Sit. Pace. Peter didn’t know how long he was there, just waiting. At one point, he tried to read a magazine, but the words seemed to blur together he tossed it back into the basket and started pacing again, running his hand through his hair as he told himself over and over again that it was okay. It was normal for things to take this long…right?
“You keep that up and that floor’s going to break.”
Peter’s head snapped up. “Mr. Stark? What, what are you doing here?”
“Well, I saw an explosion and thought to myself, ‘Now who could that be?’ And then I checked your tracker just to see. And yes, you have a tracker again. I reinstalled it and made it so you can’t tamper with it this time. Though I have to say I wasn’t expecting to find you in a hospital.” Something about the delivery of the words seemed a little off, almost as if he had been worried. But Peter could register it, Tony spoke again. “So, why are you here?”
The anxiety that had been momentarily forgotten at seeing Mr. Stark came rushing back and rammed into Peter. “Aunt May…she…she thought I was still in the building when the explosion…and I wasn’t fast enough. And…and she…I don’t know how she, if she-” Peter’s voice broke as images flashed through his mind, as the reality of it all hit him again. He was only aware that tears had been building up in his eyes when he blinked an a few rolled down his cheeks. “Mr. Stark I can’t lose her.” Peter’s face fell as the words left his mouth. He felt so scared and he didn’t know what to do. This wasn’t a time when he could just will himself to do what needed to be done. Because he couldn’t do anything.
Then a hand rested on his shoulder and he looked up slowly. The cocky smile and confident demeanor he was used to seeing on Mr. Stark’s face was gone. If Peter didn’t know any better, he looked downright sympathetic.
“Peter. She’s going to be fine. I know this place - these doctors know what they are doing. And if for some reason they don’t, I’ll find someone who does, okay?”
Peter nodded once, but despite the assurance, he was still terrified. What if it was so bad that not even the best could save her?
“Come on,” Tony said with a pat on his shoulder then gestured to one of the chairs. “I’ll wait with you a while.”
Sitting down, Peter glanced at the door and then at Tony, who had replaced his hand on his shoulder when he sat. Maybe Peter had been wrong, maybe he wasn’t quite so alone as he thought.
