Frozen Camera
Tumblr media
I watched Rise of the Guardians and fell in love with Jack Frost because he is my baby. Anyway here is something I just whipped up and I know it's bad but I needed to so it to ease my mind.
I hate studying, I really do. My mind tries to focus but it drifts into dreamland. Dreaming of the impossible. Fighting dragons, ruling a kingdom….....finding true love. But enough about that. To relax a little, I decided to go read a book outside. Since it was Christmas time, I picked up the story about all the different kinds of Christmas characters. It was night time so I made sure to bring some blankets out. As I stepped outside on my back porch, coldness engulfed me. My porch was spacious with lawn chairs and a brick pillar on the side that leads into the grass. Oh, how beautiful it was. Christmas lights dance around my neighbors backyards across the lake connecting them. Lights from blue and white to red and green. The fountain was still going as the wind danced through it. I sat down in order to enjoy reading a bit into my novel. This section was about the famous Jack Frost to whom I believed in when I was a little kid. But not anymore since I am a junior in high school.   About 10 mins into my book, I absentmindedly start singing a famous Christmas Carol.
God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas Day
I heard distant barking of dogs nearby which was normal. And the rustle of plants that were caused by the wind.
To save us all from Satan's pow'r
When we were gone astray
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joyI
Oh tidings of comfort and joy
All of a sudden, my ears perk up at this crinkle or a sound of frost covering something. Like a tingling sound of some sort. I looked around and saw one of my security cameras had frost covering the lens.
“That's weird,” I muttered to myself as I stood up, set my book down and walked toward the camera. Over the lens it looked blueish with little snowflakes covering it. My curiosity got the best of me so I decided to go inside and get a ladder. (The camera was on the ceiling). I got the ladder from the garage and walked back outside. I opened it and climbed all the way to the top. I looked closely at the camera and scratched the frost off of it. Somehow, the frost just would not come off.
“OH GOS-,” suddenly I lost my balance and was headed toward the ground.
“Gotcha,” I was caught by someone who was levitating off of the ground and wrapped my arms around this persons neck. It seemed to be a boy around my age who had piercing blue eyes and platinum blond hair. His skin was pale white and freezing for that matter. His dazzling white teeth showed as he smiled lovingly at me. My goodness was he handsome.
“Woah…” I was too starstruck to even comprehend what was happening.
“Lost your balance, there sweetheart,” the mysterious man said.
“You-your-you…”
“Jack Frost is the name,” he said as he lowered me to the ground.
“Oh my goodness.. It's really you,”
“Of course it's me, alive and in person.” His smile…. Is so…..loving. I finally got a good look at him and he was wearing a blue hoodie with some light brown pants. He was indeed barefoot as he was Jack Frost.
Oh my gosh.  OH MY GOSH The Jack Frost in front of ME!!!
“And what might your name be pretty girl,”
Pretty girl…. I flushed deeply at that. I smiled sheepishly as I introduced myself.
“(Y/N) (L/N) at your service,” as I extended my hand out for him to shake.
He shook it softly and his hands were beyond freezing.
“Wait, what are you doing here?” I was so puzzled as to why he was here. It was December right, but it does not even snow over here.
“Oh.. Well…” he walked around with his staff tapping the bird bath with it and it froze solid.
“I got quite bored while I was patrolling so I decided to fly across a random area where I found a beautiful singing voice in this very backyard.”
As if I could ever be more redder, my face would be a tomato.
“What were you doing out here,” he said as he pointed his staff at me.
I gently pushed his staff out of my face and raised an eyebrow.
“Well, It is my backyard” I started to walk around him.
“But if you want to know, I was reading a book.”
“Oh… interesting”
“Y’know, you have a very nice backyard,” he stated as he walked around and faced the lake.
“And a very nice show you get to watch.”
I giggled lightly at that.
“Oh yes, Christmas is the best time of the year when I get to sit outside in the cold and light a fire. I see all the Christmas lights in their glory.” I smiled at last night's occurrence which was just like how I described.
“Well, isn’t that nice,” he said as he gazed at me.
All of a sudden I hear this ringing noise that sounds jolly. Jack takes a small device out of his hand and looks very disappointed. He verbally groans.
“Wish I could stay, but Santa needs me.”
“You mean North,” I say out of the blue
“Wait how do you-”
“Jack,” I giggle a little,
“Might want to go see him” I say as I step in front of him pointing at the device smiling.
He smiles as he is about to fly away.
“Wait!” I put a hand up signaling him to not go yet.
“Will I ever see you again?”
“I’ll make sure I will see you again, snowflake.” He says as he takes my hand and kisses it with his cold yet soft lips.
I smile and yet again, I flush at the nickname.
He then flies away and I am left alone outside. I walk back to the camera and see that the frost has disappeared. I smile as I walk back inside. I gaze back out across the lake where I think of the many events that Jack Frost will show me.
thinking on a part two maybe or a milti series thing idk yet lol
I have to get back to studying though

RAISED BY WOLVES: a jon snow fanfic.
Tumblr media
02.
it took some time to get the guardian of the north to accept your request, he knew it was going to be dangerous, but he couldn't say no to you, he loved you like you were his own blood.
arya was as thrilled as you, she couldn't wait to begin the journey to kings landing. " i hope i get to practice with my sword" she said to you, while mimicking the action of sword fighting, she also told you that jon gifted her a sword, and that she called it needle.
you knew that sansa was smitten by that baratheon boy, prince joffrey. but you wished to never be in his presence, he was a repulsive human being, and you saw that the days he stayed in your home. but love blinds you, or perhaps, dreams do.
somehow, the news travelled fast enough that they reached robb and jon. robb looked at you, analizing your expressions, like he knew that that was exactly what you needed, a look into your past. and jon didn't say a thing, maybe he didn't care enough to try and change your mind, or perhaps he cared so much, he couldn't say a thing. and you wished it was the latter.
later that day, robb stark entered your chambers, and only the old gods and the new ones knew what the young wolf had to do to put his hands on the old book. "this is for you, sister. so you don't forget your blood, and hopefully, you discover more about it in your journey" he said, placing the valyrian book on the girls hands.
"thank you, robb. i- i don't even know what to say. thank you, brother" you heard your voice cracking, knowing he did too, you hugged him really tight. since the day you arrived, he cared for you, and loved you as an older brother would. and you were really grateful.
"it's nothing, the next time we see eachother, you will have to tell me the stories of the old valyria, and the rise of the dragons. as a payment for the book" he said, showing you a cheerful smile. but you could see his watery eyes looking at you, you were grateful for this family you thought, and later those thoughts became questions. does your older brother loves your sister as much as robb loves you? you hoped he did.
the second one to visit your chambers was jon snow, you noticed that he looked troubled, his eyes seemed tired and even though he was looking at you, he seemed distant. "hi there, i heard you're leaving for king's landing." he muttered, his tone lacking affection caught you off guard.
"yes, lord stark allowed me to go with them. i think i really need this, y'know? my family lived in the red keep for ages!" jon felt your excitement in your high pitched voice, almost resembling the nine year old arya. he didn't know if you were excited for leaving the cold winterfell, or if you were excited to finally know more about your family. and he could relate, he wanted to know more about his family too, who is his mother, and is his mother alright?. "but i'm particularly excited to see the library" these last words made him realize that love is a dangerous thing, while he didn't want to part from you, he was delighted at the same time, thinking of your sudden happiness.
"i hope you find the answers you're looking for princess, i really do. see, i talked with my uncle benjen the other night, and i decided to join the night's watch. i came here to bid you goodbye, i guess your departure should've made things easier, but i don't want to leave without saying this first-" you could hear doubt in his voice and immediatly your anxiety began to grow.
"i don't want us to lose what we have, i still don't know what will happen in the future, but- but if i join the nights watch i will swear an oath, one i cannot desobey. and one i will regret if i don't-"
"if you don't what?" you said, growing more and more impatient every second he didn't finished his sentence.
"if i don't kiss you, princess" you stared at him, his moonlight eyes catching your lilac ones. you were not thinking straight. your bodies started to seek eachother like the air you need to breath. with each step taking you to a rushed decision, your heart knew it was a right one.
with your faces almost colliding, you muttered almost like a whisper, only for him to hear it "then kiss me, jon snow".
his lips brushed gently against yours, caressing each corner of your lips, tasting and memorizing every line, every taste, and every sound that you provided him. this was a scene straight out of his dreams.
and life was not fair to him, he could only confirm.
the second he got you, was the second he lost you.

David Smith at The Guardian:
Joe Biden has shown no mercy to Donald Trump with a series of barbed jokes about his election rival, telling a gathering of Washington’s political and media elites: “I’m a grown man running against a six-year-old.”
The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner on Saturday night provided the ideal platform for Biden to continue a recent run of taking the fight to Trump with more aggressive rhetoric, cutting humour and personal insults. But the jovial mood inside the room contrasted sharply with raucous demonstrations outside the Washington Hilton hotel. Hundreds of protesters shouted “Shame on you!” at White House officials, journalists and celebrities as they arrived at the dinner, condemning Biden’s handling of the war in Gaza and the media’s coverage of it. As speculation about a debate between the two men intensifies, Biden – wearing tuxedo and black tie – opened his roast with a direct but joking focus on Trump, calling him “sleepy Don”, in reference to a nickname Trump had given the president previously. “The 2024 election is in full swing and yes, age is an issue,” noted Biden, 81. “I’m a grown man running against a six-year-old.” The president also skewered Trump over a recent speech in which he described the civil war battle at Gettysburg as “interesting, “vicious”, “horrible” and “beautiful”. Biden said: “Speaking of history, did you hear what Donald just said about a major civil war battle? ‘Gettysburg – wow!’ Trump’s speech was so embarrassing, the statute of Robert E Lee surrendered again.”
Biden then made a reference to Trump’s falling out with his former vice-president, Mike Pence, who defied him over the 2020 election result. The president said: “Age is the only thing we have in common. My vice-president actually endorses me.” Vice-president Kamala Harris, sitting nearby on stage, laughed and applauded. The president moved on to Trump’s criminal trial in New York, where he is accused of falsifying business records to cover up a hush money payment to adult film performer Stormy Daniels. Biden said: “Donald has had a few tough days lately. You might call it Stormy weather.”
And then he brought up Trump’s new scheme to sell “God Bless the USA Bibles” for $59.99. “Trump’s so desperate he started reading those Bibles he’s selling. Then he got to the first commandment: ‘You shall have no other gods before me.’ That’s when he put it down and said: “This book’s not for me’.” Biden also poked fun at his own age and delivered some one-liners at the expense of the media. “Some of you complained that I don’t take enough of your questions. No comment.”
President Joe Biden delivered a masterclass at last night's WHCD, including quips about "stormy weather" in reference to Stormy Daniels and naming Donald Trump "Sleepy Don" and referring to him as a "six-year-old."

Tumblr media

Warnings: Danger, angst, claustrophobia.

A/N: My apologies for how long it took to get this chapter posted. I wanted to take my time on it because it’s essential to the rest of the story. I hope you enjoy it!
Guardian Angel Masterlist
You walked into your room, anxiously shutting the door behind you. Your mind races as you pace back and forth. Running your fingers through your hair, you struggle to comprehend why Onyx Petroleum would be interested in Sokovian land. Your mental spiral is interrupted by a knock on your door, followed by Tony's voice asking if you're okay. You open the door, and the billionaire walks in, quickly shutting the door behind him.
"I can't believe I didn't clock it before," Tony said, holding up the newspaper. "Those con artists from Onyx Petroleum are your parents - sorry."
You force a smile and respond, "It's okay. They deserve the title, trust me."
"I know firsthand," Tony muttered.
“You know my parents?”
“Your father was a regular visitor of the Stark Expo in the old days.” You're taken aback, wondering how you never knew that. “Dear old dad rarely spoke to me growing up, but I remember he once said that Y/F/N Y/L/N was the only person who made him believe that humanity was doomed to extinction.”
“Sounds about right,” you said.
“Oh, and then," he recounted, "A few years ago at a September Foundation grant presentation at Cal Tech. Your mother, as usual, was doing her thing - schmoozing with everyone. She cornered Pepper and started rambling about how a partnership between Onyx Petroleum and Stark Industries could transform the global oil exploration and production industry. Pepper kindly reminded her that Stark Industries no longer partners with companies or individuals that harm the environment or the population. So your mother called Pepper a fraud and threw her drink in her face! Can you believe that?"
You sigh as you sit down on the edge of the bed, “Unfortunately, yes.”
"Any idea what this is about?" Tony asked, holding up the paper again.
You shake your head, saying, "No clue. They've never shown any interest in foreign oil.”
"Do you have access to anything that would give us insights into their business dealings?" Tony inquired.
You shake your head again, feeling helpless. "Not anymore. My parents removed me from all of their bank accounts and company mainframes when they kicked me out," you say with a huff, throwing yourself back onto the bed. “I don’t get it. Sokovia was destroyed. What’s left for them to find.”
“Vibranium.”
“What?” You said as you sat up. “That doesn't make sense. Sokovia was a war zone.”
“What do you think they were fighting over?” The billionaire asked rhetorically.
“How do you know this, Tony?”
“After Ultron's attack on Sokovia and the subsequent sinking of Navi Grad, FRIDAY performed an extensive deep-sea mapping of the ocean—every square centimeter. Seven hundred thousand images were captured at a depth of almost 4,000 meters,” Tony explained, tapping the screen on his watch. “The mapping exercise was aimed at locating the submerged remnants of the destroyed city and ensuring the safety of any underwater vehicles or divers exploring the area. Doing so would provide insights into the underwater topography of the region and assist in the reconstruction efforts.”
You rise to your feet as a hologram of the 3D map materializes before your eyes.
“Instead, FRIDAY found something else,” Tony explained, shifting pieces back and forth through the air. “Outside of Wakanda, Sokovia has the largest natural vein of Vibranium anywhere in the world, but no one has been able to mine it yet because…,” zooming in on the composite. “It’s underwater.”
You studied the 3D image carefully, trying to comprehend how Onyx Petroleum would go about mining the most potent substance on Earth.
“This much Vibranium in anyone’s hands is frightening,” Tony said. “In the hands of a company notorious for unethical business practices, it’s perilous.”
“Does Wanda know?” Your mind was racing with concern for your girlfriend.
“No, and I don’t think we should tell her,” closing the hologram.
“What? Why not? She has a right to know! It was her home. We can’t just—“
"Easy, Willy Wonka," Tony said. "I know she needs to know, but we need more information before we can act. I need to do some more research and figure out the next steps. In the meantime, tell the rest of the team what we know. Wanda is running point on a full-team, large-scale mission the day after tomorrow, and it benefits no one for her to be distracted, right?"
You nod hesitantly in agreement, still processing everything. "Trust me, Y/N. If we take our eyes off the ball, bad things happen. We need to be strategic and focused if we're going to keep everyone safe."
After a moment of silence, you let out a heavy sigh. "Okay, you're right," you concede, looking down at your hands. "I just don't feel good about keeping this from Wanda. We've always been honest with each other, and I don't want to ruin that."
Tony places a reassuring hand on your back. "You're not lying to her. You're just postponing the truth to protect her," he explains calmly.
You slowly nod, taking in his words. It made sense, in a way. But the guilt still lingered in your mind, gnawing at you. You knew that, eventually, you'd have to come clean.
*^~^*
You stirred from your sleep two days later, but the uneasy feeling in your stomach lingered. Your conversation with Tony was still vivid in your mind. You peered outside and saw SHIELD agents hustling and bustling around the grounds. You felt lost, unsure of what to do or where to be, so you did your best to keep a low profile and stay out of everyone's way. This was your first time seeing a mission play out before you. Sure, team members had come and gone before in the three months you had been living at the Avengers Compound, but being so focused on your recovery, you hadn’t paid that close attention.
FRIDAY interrupted your train of thought as you stood by the window. “Ms. Y/L/N,” she said, “Ms. Maximoff requests your presence in The Overwatch.”
You were confused. “The Overwatch? Where’s that, FRIDAY?”
“I’ll escort you there, Ms. Y/L/N,” FRIDAY said, opening the elevator doors.
As you stepped into the elevator, you noticed it was going down. The compartment sprang to life, and you counted at least three floors before it finally stopped. The door opened, revealing a futuristic virtual command center. Wanda stood with her back to you, looking up at a wall of monitors.
You couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow!"
Wanda turned at the sound of your voice, and her smile was enough to melt you into a puddle. "Impressive, isn't it?" she said.
You nodded, still in awe of the sight. "What is this place?"
"This is The Overwatch," Wanda explained. "It's a command center that allows Fury or other Avengers who aren't on a mission to provide support in real-time."
You walked over to where Wanda was standing. "It's only used when everyone gets called away or on big-scale operations," she added.
You looked up at the bank of monitors, each displaying a name in the corner. Your eyes quickly found Natasha's, labeled N. Romanoff. Next to her, you spotted T. Stark, S. Rogers, B. Banner, T. Odinson, C. Barton, B. Barnes, S. Wilson, K. Bishop, Y. Belova, P. Parker, and C. Danvers.
"Am I even allowed to be in here?” You asked.
"Technically, no," Wanda replied with a smirk, "but this is my first time running point on a mission, and I could use the company."
Curiosity getting the better of you, you asked, "Who are they after?"
"Unfortunately, that information is classified," Wanda replied, typing away on the keyboard and pulling up a map, "but I can tell you they are in Europe."
"Well, that narrows it down," you joked, trying to lighten the mood.
Wanda sighed and sat before the command module, motioning for you to join her. "I wish I could tell you more," she said, "it's so much more stressful sitting in here than being out in the field with the team."
You tried encouraging her, saying, "Hey, at least you're safe here."
“Yes, but I feel so helpless," Wanda admitted while monitoring the team's vital signs. "Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to Fury for agreeing to let me ease back into the swing of things, but the loss of control scares me.”
The tense atmosphere was palpable in the comms as Steve's voice cut through, "Wanda, we're on our final approach. ETA, 30 seconds."
Natasha's raspy voice chimed in, "How are we looking?"
"The approach is clear—five guards in the courtyard outside the building.
"I got it," Tony interjected. You heard muffled groans on the other end of the comms as Tony dismantled the threat in a matter of seconds. "We're clear outside."
Everyone, turn on your body cameras," Wanda commanded as the monitors rose to life, giving you a first-person point of view of what everyone on the team was seeing.
"Nat, the security office is two doors down on your left," Wanda directed.
"Noted, I'm on my way," Natasha confirmed.
"When do I go in?" Peter's voice sounded eager on the comms.
"Hold your position, Spider-Boy," Yelena said. "Patience is key."
"Yeah, Peter. You're too eager. Just slow your roll and wait for the signal," Kate Bishop said.
"So is being quiet, Kate Bishop." Yelena cut in again.
I can't believe this is happening," you said involuntarily.
"Shh," Wanda whispers.
"Who is that?" Thor asks as he catches his hammer flying towards his monitor screen.
"Is that Y/N?" Carol asked between shots.
"No, it's not," Wanda lied to protect you.
"It is Y/N! What are you doing in The Overwatch, Willy Wonka?" Tony asked.
“Aww, they’re having a date night,” Clint joked sarcastically as you watched an arrow fly away from his camera and out of sight.
"Everyone, please be quiet. You're clogging the comms," Bucky demands irritably.
"Let's all be civil," Sam adds.
“I concur,” Bruce agreed.
"How are we doing, Nat?" Steve asked as he knocked out another security guard.
"I'm bypassing the firewall, Natahsa replied, typing away on the keyboard. “There. The Iris Detectors are down.”
"On my signal," Wanda spoke calmly. "Disabling the dome cameras in 3, 2, 1. Go.”
Sitting in front of the bank of monitors, you found yourself momentarily bewildered. You weren't sure which of the screens to focus on as the team moved in unison. Each one displayed a different angle of the action, and you didn't want to miss a single moment of what was unfolding before you. You watched with bated breath as they efficiently made their way through the building, their movements purposeful and precise. It was a sight to behold - you had never seen such determination and skill in your entire life.
Despite seeing footage of the Avengers on the news over the years, watching them firsthand was an entirely different experience. You felt incredibly fortunate to be able to call them your friends. As they worked towards the second level, you couldn't help but feel a sense of awe wash over you. These were some of the most powerful beings on the planet, and yet they were risking their lives to protect others. It was a humbling and inspiring sight to behold.
As the team entered the building, you watched Bucky effortlessly kick in a door. "I'm in the lab," he announced, his voice calm and collected.
Tony's voice crackled through the comms, "Do you see the mainframe?"
"There's two, which one is it?" Bucky replied, scanning the room.
"Open the silver panel," Tony instructed.
With a few hard pulls, Bucky managed to pry off the front of the mainframe. Suddenly, the sound of shattering glass filled the air as Carol crashed through a nearby window with a guard's arms wrapped tightly around her neck.
Without hesitation, Bucky turned to assist her. "Keep going! I got this," Carol shouted, her voice slightly strained.
Tony's voice cut through the chaos, "You should see the mainframe HiperSockets that provide high-speed TCP/IP connectivity within the central processor complex."
"For fuck's sake, in English, Tony!" Bucky shouted, his frustration palpable.
"Language,” Steve reprimanded.
An alarm began to blare as red lights flashed, signaling the imminent arrival of more guards.
"Bucky and Carol, eight more guards are heading your way," Wanda's voice sounded over the comms. "Thor, you're the closest."
"I'll be right there," Thor answered.
You watched as The God of Thunder bounded down the stairs and into the lab. In a thunderous flash, he took out all eight guards, leaving the room eerily silent.
"Cut the blue cable!" Tony finally shouted.
Bucky pulled out a pocket knife and quickly sliced through the blue cable.
The rest of the team arrived on the scene, and the lights inside the mainframe went out, plunging the room into darkness.
"How do we know for sure it's down?" Kate asked, her voice laced with concern.
Natasha fired three gunshots into the mainframe, causing the container to smoke.
"That ought to do it," she said, lowering her gun.
"Well done, everyone," Wanda praised. "I'm no longer seeing a heat signature from your location, which means the building is offline."
"Thanks, Wanda. Nice job on the point," Steve said. "We'll reconvene at 1800 hours to go over Phase Two."
Wanda looked exhausted as she removed her earpiece. The monitors had gone dark again; she leaned back in her chair, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath to calm herself down. After a few moments, she opened her eyes and looked at you.
"Wow, sweetheart. That was amazing! I've never seen anything like that in my life. You were great,” you said, touching her shoulder.
Wanda smiled weakly, feeling a sense of satisfaction mixed with exhaustion. "Thanks," she said, "it was touch and go. But I'm glad they were able to get the job done."
You nodded in agreement. "Are all the missions that intense?"
Wanda thought for a moment before answering. "Not all of them," she said, "but this is one of the most challenging ones we've had in a while. But that's what we're trained for, right?"
“Do you miss it? Being out there, I mean,” you asked hesitantly.
Wanda’s expression was pensive as she spoke, her gaze fixed on the ground. "It's a complicated situation," she began slowly. "On the one hand, I don't want to leave my boys. After we lost their father, I made a promise to Billy and Tommy that I would always be there for them, no matter what." She paused for a moment as if lost in thought. "But on the other hand," she continued, her voice growing softer, "sometimes I feel like I'm denying who I am. Like my magic knows, I’m turning away from that part of myself.”
As you sat beside Wanda, you suddenly realized something that had never occurred to you before – you had never seen her use her powers. You searched your memory for any instance where you had witnessed her abilities in action, but you drew a blank. The only thing you could recall was being in her arms after the accident before you passed out, but even then, you couldn't remember if she had used her magic to keep you safe.
You took a deep breath and reached out to hold her hand. "I know we've never talked about this, but is there a reason you've never used your magic in front of me?" you asked, your voice gentle and curious. You hoped she wouldn't take offense to your question, but you couldn't help feeling a little curious about this aspect of her life that she had kept hidden from you.
"I was wondering when you would finally ask me about this,” Wanda sighed softly. “Since Westview, I have had difficulty trusting myself to use my powers safely. I lost control in a way that I never have before, Y/N, and the thought of putting anyone through that again is unbearable." Her voice was tinged with remorse and sadness as she continued, "I don't want to be a danger to those around me or myself. I’m afraid to use my magic again, and I don't know how to overcome that fear."
As you stroked her hand, you spoke reassuringly to Wanda. "I know you're feeling guilty about what happened in Westview, but that was only one aspect of your powers. You've done so much more good in the world than bad, and the magic that courses through you is a testament to that. Remember all the times you used your abilities to save lives, protect innocent people, and bring hope to those in need. That is the true measure of who you are, Wanda. Don't let a single mistake define you or your legacy."
Wanda nodded as she looked at you. “Thank you, Y/N,” wiping the tears away that threatened to fall. “I know I can’t avoid using them forever,” she looked around the room, “I also know I can’t hide down here for the rest of my life.”
“Why don’t you show me?”
“What?”
“Show me your powers. Come on, let’s see what you got, sweetheart. It’s just us, and we’re three floors underground. Nothing can go wrong, I promise.”
She looked at you hesitantly before she finally agreed, “Okay.”
Wanda rose from her seat and walked to the middle of the room. She took a deep, cleansing breath, held out her left palm, and began slowly circling it with her right hand. You watched as an orb of red energy materialized in her palm. Pointing her hand in your direction, you felt the chair you were sitting in move underneath you as you quickly rolled across the room and stopped on a dime in front of the redhead.
“Woah,” you said in amazement.
“You haven’t seen anything yet,” she smirked.
Slowly but surely, she rose above you, her body glowing with a vibrant, otherworldly red magic that seemed to envelop you completely. Despite your shock, you felt a sense of calm wash over you as you basked in the warmth and comfort of the magic surrounding you. It was as if Wanda had wrapped you in a cocoon of pure energy, and you felt safe and protected in her presence. Her eyes were fixed on you, glowing like twin stars in the night sky. For the first time, you knew without a doubt that you were in the presence of a powerful being beyond your understanding. Yet, despite her immense power, she was your Wanda—gentle and kind.
The redhead reached down and gently touched your cheek. For a moment, you closed your eyes and basked in the warmth of her touch. You couldn't help but wonder if she felt the same sense of warmth and safety with you that you felt with her.
I do, Y/N," Wanda said with nothing but adoration in her eyes.
You were confused and asked, "Do what?"
"Feel the same warmth and safety you feel with me," she replied.
You wondered, "I, did I - I don't think I said that out loud, did I?"
"I heard your thoughts, love," she answered.
You repeated, "You heard me - you can hear my thoughts? Oh, God."
Wanda reassured you, "Oh no, no, Y/N. It's okay. This was the first time I've ever listened to your thoughts. Outside of work, I never invade anyone's privacy that way and never would with you without your permission or unless it was an emergency."
The redhead reached for you as she floated down. The red magic swirling around your joined hands.
"That was incredible, sweetheart. I know it will take some time, but don't hide this part of yourself away. It's wonderful.”
The sudden sound of the elevator whirring through the walls startled Wanda, breaking her concentration and causing her to dismiss her red magic hastily. "Shit! Quick, hide in that storage cabinet," she urgently whispered, pushing you towards the stainless steel structure.
"What?! Why?" You asked, confused and alarmed.
"I told you, you're not technically supposed to be here. The security clearance is off the charts," Wanda explained as she urged you towards the cabinet.
You sprinted towards the cabinet and quickly shut the door just as Maria exited the elevator. "Hey, Wanda. Great job on Phase One. Everything looks good on our end," she said, scrolling through her tablet.
“Thanks,” Wanda said, nervously tucking a strand of red hair behind her ear as Maria continued.
"I'm going to go brief Fury, but I'll be back for the check-in call at 6 pm to discuss Phase Two."
"Okay, see you in a bit," Wanda replied, relieved she hadn't noticed you.
As Maria stepped back into the elevator, she teasingly called, "Oh, and Wanda? If Y/N is going to be down here with you, at least give her a key card."
Wanda blushed at being caught. "I don't know what you're talking about," she fibbed.
"Of course, you don't," The Deputy Director chuckled. "Ask her to bring some Candy Bar chocolate for us later when she comes out from the storage cabinet," she added with a giggle as the doors closed.
You cautiously opened the door to the cabinet and stepped out, your cheeks reddening as you met Wanda's embarrassed gaze. She fished a blank white key card out of her pocket and handed it to you. "Here, now you can legally be down here with me."
You took the card and turned it over in your hands.
"Thanks," you said softly. “Tell Maria I'll bring some chocolate truffles later," you winked.
"Hmm, sounds good," Wanda smiled, leaning in to give you a gentle peck on the lips.
*^~^*
You arrived back at The Overwatch a few hours later, your white key card and a bag of truffles in hand. Maria was sitting next to Wanda in front of the wall of monitors. You sat down next to the redhead, passing the bag of chocolates to Maria.
"Aww, Y/N. How did you know? This is exactly what I wanted."
"Shut up,” you smirked. “So, what's happening here?" As you pointed toward the dark screens.
"We had the check-in call about forty-five minutes ago, and Steve should be reporting in any minute to confirm they've reached the target,” Wanda explained.
As if on cue, Steve's camera turned on, followed by the rest of the team. "Speak of the devil!” Maria exclaimed.
You could tell immediately that the team was in an underground passage, evidenced by the rough stone masonry surrounding them. Their footsteps echoed through the tunnel, adding an eerie quality to the tense atmosphere.
"Hey, Cap, you ready to go?" Maria asked, glancing up at the screen.
"Affirmative," Steve replied. “Although some of us are feeling a bit claustrophobic."
"Speak for yourself,” Clint chimed in.
"Tony, you want to take that one?" Wanda asked, typing away on her keyboard.
"Sure thing, Red," Tony replied. "Everyone, reach inside your suit pockets. You should find an object the size of one of Morgan's Legos."
Yelena, ever the skeptic, held up the miniature object Tony had referred to. "What the fuck is this?" she asked, her voice laced with annoyance.
"Language," Steve admonished.
"Oh, tell it to someone who cares," Yelena retorted, rolling her eyes.
"Sestra," Nat scolded, her voice echoing through the tunnels.
"It's a bit of technology I borrowed from our friendly neighborhood ant, and subsequently made even better,” Tony smirked. "Press the button on the top."
As one, the team pressed the button, and a small oxygen mask grew to fit in their hands.
"And we couldn't have worn these on the walk down here because?" Sam asked, his voice heavy with sarcasm.
"Because they only have a 24-hour oxygen supply," Tony explained. "We need to conserve as much as possible."
"Do I have to wear this?" Carol asked. "I can breathe in space. I'm pretty sure I'm fine down here."
"The vacuum of space is very different from underground," Maria said. "We don't want to take any chances. Put it on, please, Danvers."
“Why doesn’t the billionaire genius have to wear an oxygen mask?” She asked.
“There’s an oxygen supply built into the suit,” Tony smirked.
With a resigned sigh, Carol donned the mask, and the rest of the team followed suit. Wanda went over the topography of the catacomb, identifying key landmarks and intricacies that could help them navigate the maze-like structure safely.
In a hushed tone, you turned to Maria and asked, "Have they ever had an underground mission before?"
Maria shook her head and replied, "No, not like this. This is completely uncharted territory for them.”
"Okay, as we discussed," Steve said, pointing to the left. "Group one with me down the left tunnel; group two with Tony down the right tunnel."
As you observed intently, you saw each group setting off towards their designated directions, down the ancient corridors. The walls were adorned with intricate archways, illuminated by sporadic pockets of light that added to the mystique of the surroundings.
“Mr. Stark, this is amazing! Have you looked at these carvings and art? Easily third century—” Peter started.
“This isn’t a history field trip,” Natasha interrupted. “Pay attention to your surroundings.”
The group had been walking through a tunnel for some time when, without warning, felt the ground beneath their feet shake. A low and ominous grumbling noise echoed through the air, and everyone was thrown into the tunnel walls.
"FRIDAY, what's happening?" Tony asked urgently.
"Accessing the wave radar and enhancing the thermogenic signature," FRIDAY responded.
“Do you feel that too, Steve?” Wanda asked
Steve grunted as he struggled to regain his balance. "Yeah, is it an earthquake?" he asked.
"It's an energy surge, Boss," FRIDAY replied to Tony. "A core reactor holds together the primary stabilization of the tunnel structure."
"That's not first-century tech," Peter mumbled, face down on the ground.
Kate helped him up. "Yeah, no kidding, Sherlock."
Just as the group was getting back on their feet, Sam's voice cut through the tense silence.
"Hey! Hold it!" he shouted.
"What is it, Wilson?" Tony asked.
"Someone is watching us at the end of this tunnel," Sam exclaimed as he ran ahead of the group.
"Sam, wait!” Steve shouted.
"Lock onto Wilson," Maria said, standing up.
Wanda quickly shifted to Sam's primary camera and enlarged the visual. The mystery figure took two quick turns to the left as if they knew exactly where they were going. A third turn to the right, and Sam lost sight of the man for a split second. Looking around quickly, but to no avail, he said, "I lost them."
"How will he get back to the rest of the group?" You asked.
"Good question, Y/N," Sam replied.
Maria glared over at you. "Sorry, I keep forgetting they can hear me too."
"Sam, you're closer to Tony than Steve," Wanda said. "I'm pinging his tracker right now. Two lefts and a right should do it. And Steve and company, follow your tunnel about a half a mile down and then take a right, and you should meet up with everyone else."
The team wandered through the catacomb tunnel in silence, only the sound of their breathing and the stone under their feet breaking the stillness. When they were finally reunited, Tony broke the silence, "Okay, new plan. We're staying together."
Peter quickly agreed, "I'm with Tony on this one."
Yelena, standing nearby, murmured to Kate, "Color me surprised."
“Oxygen masks stay on, Nat,” Maria said pointedly.
"Yes, detka,” Natasha replied.
Yelena couldn't resist mocking her sister, "Yes, detka," she repeated sarcastically. But before she could carry on, Natasha pinched her arm, causing her to yelp in pain.
Thor shouted, "Knock it off, Lady Widows!"
Wanda added, "Thor is right. The catacomb can be disorienting, but you need to keep moving. Tony, I'm reviewing the National Geophysical Data Center records to assess your declination value and sending them to FRIDAY. Keep true north."
You turned to Maria, puzzled, "What did she say?" Having no clue what your girlfriend was talking about.
"They should turn right," Maria whispered.
You watched as everyone walked in a single-file line to the right, trying their best to keep their footing on the uneven stone. Suddenly, a second energy surge echoed loudly through the comms, causing everyone to turn their cameras downwards. Your heart raced as you gasped at the sight of cracks quickly forming between everyone's legs. Before anyone could react, the ground gave way beneath them, accompanied by screams and the sound of broken gravel.
Maria gasped, and Wanda put her hands over her mouth in shock.
"Oh my God!" You exclaimed. "What the hell just happened?"
Wanda asked urgently, "Steve? Tony? Can you hear me?"
Maria followed with a shaky voice, "Natasha? Come in! Anyone?"
"Shit," she said anxiously, picking up the phone in front of her. "All SHIELD agents, Romeo, Echo, Delta."
"FRIDAY, Code Red. Initiate Emergency Protocol 3000," Wanda ordered, running back towards the elevator and flipping a red switch under a glass cover.
"Compound shutdown initiated. Director Fury and Mrs. Stark have been notified and are en route to The Overwatch," FRIDAY responded.
You stood there, frozen, not knowing what to do with yourself. The shock of what you had just witnessed was so intense that your vision started to blur, and you felt as though you were about to pass out. Suddenly, you felt someone's arms on your shoulders, and you jumped slightly.
"Y/N? Y/N, love, stay with me, okay?" Wanda said, her voice soothing.
You looked up at her and then back at the monitors, pointing at them with a shaking hand. "They... it..." you stammered, struggling to form coherent sentences.
Wanda nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I know," she said, rubbing her hands up and down your arms in a gesture of comfort.
She slowly led you back to your seat, still holding onto your shoulders, and conjured a glass of water out of thin air. Taking it in your hand, you felt the coolness of the glass against your skin, which helped ground you and bring you back to the present moment.
*^~^*
Fury furrowed his brows and asked Maria, "When was your last point of contact?"
"Five minutes ago."
"Maximoff was running point?"
You didn't appreciate the way Director Fury was speaking about Wanda as if she wasn't in the room, but as an outsider, you chose to hold your tongue.
Wanda stepped forward before Maria could respond, "Yes, sir."
"What happened?"
“Two energy surges of unknown origin, but we didn’t have time to assess the cause before-." Wanda’s voice trailed off as she struggled to continue.
“Before you lost them,” Fury finished the sentence for her. Wanda nodded silently, unable to look the Director in the eyes.
“She didn’t lose them! It was an accident,” You suddenly heard yourself shout.
Pepper placed a hand on your shoulder as Fury’s gaze shifted over to you.
“Who is this?” Fury asked, pointing at you.
“I'm Y/N Y/L/N, sir. It's a pleasure to meet you,” you said, slowly reaching out your hand to shake his, but the gesture went unreciprocated.
"The car accident victim," looking you up and down. "She looks fine, why is she still here?"
You wondered why you were still here yourself, but Maria jumped in before you could respond, "She’s still recovering, Sir."
"Do you have clearance to be down here?"
You fumbled in your pocket for the white card Wanda had given you earlier. Fury looked at the card but gave you no response before turning back to Wanda.
“Are we still picking up pings from their trackers?”
“Yes, faintly,” Wanda said.
"Do we know how deep the catacomb goes?" He continued.
“Roughly 65 feet, but the fall could have taken them another 50 feet at least," Wanda stated.
“They were wearing oxygen masks?” Fury asked.
“Yes, but they only have a 24-hour oxygen supply if they haven’t been damaged,” Wanda explained.
Fury turned back to Maria, “How fast can we have a team of agents on the ground in Rome?”
Your ears perked up at finally knowing where everyone was.
“Four hours,” Maria responded.
“Make it three,” The Director said.
“Yes, sir,” Maria replied as she started to walk away.
Wanda interrupted calmly, "No. I’m going."
“Out of the question, Maximoff. You haven’t been back in the field since your return, save for her accident," Fury pointed at you. "I’m not sending you out there by yourself in the most dire moment in the history of SHIELD. You don’t know what you’ll find down there, and you’re still too unreliable."
“Unreliable,” Wanda repeated. “With all due respect, Director Fury, no one is more reliable than me. There is no one more powerful than me, and you and I both know that it will take someone who can move heaven and Earth, literally, to bring everyone home!”
Fury looked over at Pepper, who had yet to say a word—doing her best to keep her calm.
"Wanda can do it," Pepper declared, fidgeting with her wedding ring. "I have faith in her."
"You leave in 20 minutes,” Fury said, turning to Wanda. “But you're not going alone.”
“I’ll get changed right away, sir,” Maria assumed.
“No, you’re staying here, Hill. You’re too close to the situation with Romanoff.”
“Nick, I-“
“No, you’ll run co-point from here. That is final."
“Co-point? Who is-“
“I need to make a couple of phone calls. In the meantime, Maximoff, you get suited up. We’ll meet you in the hangar,” Fury ordered.
“Yes, sir,” Wanda acknowledged.
You followed Wanda out of the elevator and into the locker room, feeling nervous and determined. Wanda suited up with a look of solemn determination on her face. You didn't want to show your nervousness; Wanda had enough on her plate. She took out her phone, frowned at the screen, and then turned to you with a serious look.
“I need you to do something for me,” the redhead said.
“Of course, anything,” you replied, trying to sound as reassuring as possible.
“I need you to pick up Billy and Tommy and stay with them at my house. I know you have only met them once, but they liked you,” she started to ramble, her voice tinged with anxiety. “Pepper offered to take them, but I just can’t let her do that while Tony is…” she paused, her voice breaking with sadness.
You nodded understandingly, realizing the gravity of the situation. “I’ll do it,” you said, grabbing both sides of her face. “The boys will be okay, I promise. You bring everyone home.”
“Thank you so much, Y/N. I I already called the school to let them know you’ll be picking them up. I know I can trust you,” she said, her voice shaking with emotion. Your lips met in a kiss—one of comfort and reassurance.
The word trust was all it took for Onyx Petroleum and Sokovia to rush back to the front of your mind. But then you remembered Tony’s words. “If we take our eyes off the ball, bad things happen.” Wanda needed to focus. But God, it was killing you to keep this from her, even under the most dire circumstances.
You walked with Wanda to the hangar, an area of the compound you had yet to visit. The mood was a stark contrast from this morning. SHIELD Agents moved about the space with the same purpose and direction, but the energy differed. It was anxious.
You caught sight of Director Fury standing next to one of the Quinjets with two women you didn’t recognize, but it was clear Wanda knew both of them. She ran a few steps ahead of you and wrapped her arms around both of them in an emotional embrace.
“Y/N, this is Dr. Darcy Lewis and Captain Monica Rambeau,” Wanda said, motioning to each woman. “This Y/N Y/L/N, she said, touching your back.
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you both,” you said as you shook their hands, trying to keep your composure.
“Hi, nice to meet you too, Y/N,” Darcy replied warmly.
“It’s a pleasure,” Monica said, giving you a small smile.
"Captain Rambeau will be accompanying Ms. Maximoff to Rome, and Dr. Lewis will be running point with Deputy Director Hill from The Overwatch," Fury explained before glancing at his watch. "It's time to go."
Wanda looked at you with a mixture of anxiety and determination in her eyes. You tried to hide your nervousness, not wanting to add to her stress.
After a deep breath, Wanda spoke, "Billy and Tommy will be off from school in a couple of hours," she said, handing you her house keys. "Let them know that I'm working with the rest of the team, but don't give them any details. I’ll try to check in if I can.”
"Okay, sweetheart," you replied, taking the keys and putting them in your pocket. "Just make sure everyone comes home safe."
"I will," Wanda said with a nod, her eyes shining with determination.
As you leaned in to kiss the beautiful redhead, you felt a rush of emotion wash over you. Her soft lips met yours, and for a moment, everything else seemed to fade away. When you pulled away, you wrapped her in a tight embrace, holding her close to your chest. You watched as she walked towards the Quinjet, accompanied by Monica. Darcy and Fury were waiting by the side of the hangar, their faces solemn. You couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as the jet's engines came to life and slowly lifted off the ground. You stood there, watching as it climbed higher and higher into the sky until it was nothing more than a speck in the distance. As it disappeared from view, you felt a pang in your chest, as if a piece of your heart was flying away with it.

commander week day 2 - profession
guardians ahoy. set pre-PS & during later part of season 4. commander: alysannyra ainsaph.
“Hands down, Ainsaph! I repeat, put your hands to the ground and don’t raise them until the light goes out!”
Nyra almost doesn’t hear it. The wild rush of magic buzzes in her ears, in her bloodstream, lights her up from the inside like nothing else. She can only catch a breath when she feels the grass of the training grounds beneath her fingers.
“Magic,” she breathes, staring at the way light bursts out of her hands and onto the grass. “Magic!” Tips of the grass fall off, as if cut, and she laughs aloud. “I have magic!”
Logan Thackeray crouches beside her and puts a sack over her hands. “You do, and you will blind someone if you’re not careful. Maintain your focus on stopping it so we can move from here. Ainsaph?”
She grins brightly and says, mid-laugh, “This is guardian magic, yeah?” She knows her magical lessons.
Logan’s brow furrows. “Yes. And you will learn to focus, or you will end up hurting someone.”
“Yeah, yeah.” She keeps grinning and wiggles her fingers beneath the sac. “Gods, I am a guardian now!”
She’s 15 years old.
A decade later, Nyra’s standing before a gathered crowd of Corsairs, Pact soldiers, Olmakhan, Legions, dwarves, and many more who joined in on her quest to slay Kralkatorrik. She feels at ease with all these eyes on her. Her home is at the helm of the world, in a suit of armor, leading the charge. Thunderhead Keep rises above her in its historicity; who knows how many souls have passed here before her?
None quite like her, she’s certain.
“Do we have any guardians here? Any lightshapers?” Nyra asks. Her voice booms in the room; Rytlock catches her eye and nods approvingly. “You aren’t a guardian, Brimstone. But you’ll do great as my sparring partner for this exercise, but only after I’m certain we have any I can pass the knowledge to!”
A chorus of voices rises. Nyra doesn’t catch individual faces, but she catches the confirmation. Rytlock stands up from where he’s sitting beside Logan and Aurene and leans to whisper something in her ear. Aurene makes a noise that Nyra knows means she’s amused.
Caithe seems to think so as well, arms folded over chest as she watches Aurene with a soft smile. Nyra hasn’t quite forgiven Caithe, but she knows she means well for Aurene. That is enough for now.
Rytlock gets on the impromptu sparring ring. “Whatcha need, boss? I’m not your dummy so you can just hit ‘till your arms are falling off.”
“I don’t need you to be,” Nyra shrugs. “I like my dummies when they fight back.”
“Mm, gotcha. I can use some stretching myself.” He straightens to his full height, much taller than she’ll ever be, and stretches his neck. He walks over to get a sword and tosses her one as well. It clinks on the floor until it hits the toes of her boots.
“Stretch away, old guy. In the meantime, guardians, and especially my lightshapers, I’ll need your eyes trained on me. I don’t know necromancy, or how to soul snatch an animal, but I sure know a thing or two about our type of magic.” She pauses and looks at the crowd. “And I want the Branded to feel it.”
Rytlock turns with a toothful, charr-like smile. “Show them how it’s done, Nyra.”
She doesn’t need to be told twice.

Base Yandere Jack Frost Headcanons (+ Scenario) Jack Frost Nipping At Your Nose (Rise Of The Guardians) (ROTG)
#JackFrost #Yandere #YandereJackFrost #YandereROTG YandereRiseOfTheGuardians #YandereScenarios #YandereHeadcanons #Headcanons #Scenarios #ROTG #RiseOfTheGuardians #JackFrostROTG #JackFrostxReader #Reader
[Hello My Sexy Muffins and welcome to one of FIVE Christmas yanderes I am doing this years. First Up is Jack Frost, so please do Enjoy this!]
(Disclaimer: Jack Frost IS Over 100 years AT LEAST and is not yandere in canon. This is just for fun and not to be taken seriously. Simping for fictional characters is fine just make sure you are not being gross or illegal about it. Also that you separate fiction from reality. Yanderes are not ideal partners to have in real life.)
-Base Yandere Headcanons With Jack Frost From the Rise of The Guardians-
.Jack Frost is a free spirit and loves to just have fun and make joy for people.
.Though he does not like that no one knows who he is.
.When more and more kids know who he is the more he is seen and he loves it.
.Though there is someone who is no longer a child who belives in him.
.Grown up and still believing in Jack he does not know how to talk to you.
.Kids were easy enough they loved snow days.
.Also he feels something he has never felt before.
.He would first try and follow you without you seeing him.
.The more he would watch you the more he would fall for you.
.It becomes darker and dark each time he is away from you.
.He goes to the north and he is concerned that you an adult could still see not just Jack but all of them.
.You still have hope and wonder about the world.
.Jack is always the type of guy to make you laugh and smile.
.When you are grumpy he will get you in a snowball fight to let loose and have fun.
.Though if someone threw a snowball at you too hard he would not be happy with that at all.
.He would be the type of yandere that is a bit of a stalker but in a more casual way.
.He just so happens to be outside your work.
.To be escorting you from home to the store and so on.
.Also since no one else can see him he uses that to his advantage where you would not be able to tell him to go away if he was annoying you.
.He also uses not being seen to his advantage when you go on a date with rivals.
.They will slip on ice a lot or get snow blasted at them so much they get sick and they cannot even go on the date in the first place.
.Or freeze the car battery and so on.
.That is right Jack is a bit of a jerk and petty type of yandere when it comes to rivals.
.He confesses to you while ice skating with you.
.Being sweet and kind that you most likely would not be able to say no.
.Though if you do he is shocked he thought everything was going so well.
.He will become unstable and maybe a snowstorm will engulf your town as he tries to calm down.
.This cannot be you could have not said no.
.Though you are most likely going to say yes to him and kiss him. Not caring that it looks like to any adult watching that you are kissing the air.
.He would lift you up and fly with you.
.He would also make it so that the moon would make you into a spirit like him. That way he will never ever lose you.
-THOSE ARE HIS TRAITS NOW ONTO A SCENARIO-
(No One's POV)
Jack Frost started to make it snow in your hometown. You did not care for the snow but you also did not hate it. You much more liked it when you were a kid and could play in it. But now shoveling it was a pain. Jack Frost was having his usual fun when a snowball hits the back of your head. The kids scatter and Jack Frost winced. Thinking you could not see him. You turn around and look to see who did it. Your eyes land on Jack and they widen. He was Jack Frost you remember him from when you were just a child.
"Jack!" You call making him freeze and stare. "Jack Frost!"
He knew you now did mean him and he is frozen as you throw your shovel down and run across the street to meet him.
"You can see me?" He asks shocked not knowing what else to say.
"Of course, I can!" You laugh. "Wow, you really have not changed a bit, not even your clothes."
He was confused. How did one of the many hundreds of kids he met, is able to see him as an adult? Also looking at you, your cheeks darken a bit with the blood rushing to them from the cold.
It made his stomach do flip-flops. "I got to go!" He says and zooms off.
He had talked to the north who said he knew. You were one of the very few if only now, adults that kept their childhood wonder and hope. A very, very rare thing indeed. Jack asked if he would be able to spend time with you. North told him yes, though he could not neglect his duties, the children came first.
He agreed and went out to do some of his duties before he went to see you again.
Once he got back to you he sees you talking to some man holding hands with him. Jack felt a knot in his stomach and he quickly made the ice appear under the man who slipped and almost took you with him.
He did not know what this was but he DID NOT like sharing you with anyone. You Are HIS!
[YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS another chapter done, I hope you all enjoyed and stay sexy all of my muffins!]

Republicans say, “It’s the economy, stupid” . . . unless the economy is strong, then it’s “Look, there goes Elvis!”
August 15, 2024
Robert B. Hubbell
I hurt my jaw on Wednesday. I was listening to MSNBC report on the drop in inflation below 3% when the news anchor asked an “expert” how the positive economic news would affect the election. With no sense of irony or memory, the “expert” said, “Well, of course, the election won’t be decided on the economy.”
My jaw hit the floor so quickly that I nearly chipped a tooth. Remember that time—for the last year-and-half—when political pundits told us that voters cared about inflation more than democracy itself?
Now that inflation is at the lowest level in the last three years, pundits are telling us that the economy doesn’t matter—or that the good news about inflation is actually bad news for Kamala Harris. See, e.g., Politico, Inflation is easing. Now, Harris has an even bigger problem with the economy. (Per Politico, the economy faces a possible recession—which is what economists have been predicting for the last year-and-half.)
To President Biden’s credit, he called out the media’s insistence on spinning all economic news as unfavorable. At an event at the White House, a reporter shouted a question, “Did the US beat inflation, Mr. President.” Biden responded,
Yes, yes, yes. I told you we were going to have a soft landing [and]we’re going to have a soft landing. My policies are working. Start writing it that way.” See President Biden on Easing Inflation: "My Policies Are Working" | C-SPAN.org.
But the press has no interest in reporting on a positive economic story. Kamala Harris announced that she would give a speech on Friday outlining her economic policies. The New York Times didn’t wait for the speech to give it a negative review, posting the headline Harris Is Set to Lay Out an Economic Message Light on Detail.
Per the Times,
In her speech, according to those familiar with her plans, Ms. Harris will call for expanding the child tax credit, along with higher taxes on corporations and high earners, in line with Mr. Biden’s budget proposals in office. She will also push for more affordable housing, among other measures. In her campaign, Ms. Harris has already called for raising the minimum wage and providing paid leave for workers. She has defended the independence of the Federal Reserve.
Other outlets reported that Kamala Harris will also introduce “anti-price gouging” legislation to prevent corporations from using inflation as an excuse to raise grocery prices faster than justified by cost increases. See The Guardian, Kamala Harris economic plan to focus on groceries, housing and healthcare
Hmm. Sounds specific to me. Perhaps if the Times had waited for the speech before declaring it was “light on details,” it would have had a firmer basis for its critique.
By comparison, when Trump gave a rambling speech on Wednesday that was billed as setting forth his “vision for the economy,” he descended into name-calling, conspiracy-mongering, and crowd-sizing. The Times’ headline was Trump Lobs Personal Attacks Against Harris in Economy-Focused Speech.
The Times summarized Trump's economic plans as follows:
During his speech, Mr. Trump vowed that he would end “costly, job-killing” regulations in order to bring prices down, though he did not specify which regulations. He promised to address housing costs by opening large tracts of federal land for development, imposing tariffs of up to 20 percent on America’s trading partners and expanding signature tax cuts he pushed while in the White House. He also said that his chief tool to fight rising prices would be boosting oil and gas production, even as the U.S. is currently producing significantly more crude oil today than it did under the Trump administration.
So, Trump's “economic” policy is (1) “Drill baby, drill,” (2) cut taxes for the wealthy, (3) reduce federal regulation, and (4) allow private developers to use federal land to build homes. Now that sounds “light on details,” no?
Ah, well! We aren’t going to fix the broken press before November. But the general acknowledgment that the media is broken is widespread and accepted as truth. See Jonathan Chait in NYMagazine, The Media’s Double Standard Favors Trump, Not Harris.
Per Chait,
If Harris avoids any substantive commitments by September and the media aren’t making a big issue out of it, I’d be surprised. Meanwhile, Donald Trump very much is skating by without serious policy commitments. He floated the idea of repealing Obamacare, then backed away, and is continuing to vaguely promise to make health care better for everybody without anybody paying for it. He has made positive noises about cutting retirement programs without specifying how. He is secretly promising huge tax cuts to wealthy donors, while saying he would “be okay” with setting the corporate tax rate just one point lower. The media are reporting on some of these questions . . . but most of Trump’s issue evasions have disappeared from the news, and the press has had almost no ability to force him to take a stand on any issue he prefers not to talk about. Harris, at least, is supposed to be working on an agenda. Trump won’t get more specific until he wins.
So, as the media whines about Kamala Harris's lack of a full-blown policy portfolio three weeks after entering the presidential race, it has failed to hold Trump to specifics on his grandiose, illusory promises.
One final note: Trump is touting “No taxes on Social Security.” Without regard to the merits of that proposal, Democrats introduced a bill in 2022 to eliminate taxes on Social Security. See Pensions & Investments, (1/31/2024), Bill reintroduced to eliminate federal taxes on Social Security benefits, extend solvency. (“Originally introduced in August 2022, the bill would repeal the taxation of Social Security benefits starting in 2025.”)

Jack Frost x Halloween!Fem!Reader
Part 1:Me? A Guardian? Pft-! Funny!
This is a jack frost x Halloween!Reader. The reader basically Hu Tao from Gensin impact, and only 2 children can see her.
I hope you enjoy this<3!
Tumblr media
It was a cold day, but Sacha(Reader) didn't care about the cold and went outside to play with kids.
"Sacha is here!" One of them yelled
"Hi! How are my soldiers doing? Are you guys good?" I say as I bend down to their high.
After some time, most of the children were gone to home, so it's just that Sacha and James were outside.
"Sacha, can we explore the forest?" James asked whit puppy dog eyes.
"Yes, of course we can." she said as she held her hand for James to hold. As they were collecting mushrooms and chatting, Sacha heard a sound behind bushes.
"James, get behind me." I say and take out my knife
"Sacha..?" James said, his voice shaking.
"It's gonna be okay, darling. Now climb that tree behind us, okay?" I heard him climbing and take my eyes off from the bushes and look at him.
"If is it a bear or a coyote, I will get them away, and you will run to the village, okay?"
"But... what about you? I can't leave you behind..!" I was gonna talk back but shut my mouth when I heard growls from the bushes and coyotes start to come near me looked pissed.
"Suit the plan," I say before running off. As I ran, I saw all of them was behind, none of them there to attack James. I ran to the cliff and looked behind with a sad smile after that it's become dark for me.
Tumblr media
I wake up to see a man standing right beside me. He looked like Deaht Eater from the stories used to tell the kids about. After than a voice from the sky called me
"Your name is Sacha Woods, and you are the spirit of Halloween"
"I'm a what?" I say as I looked at the moon
"We gonna be working together. I'm Deaht Eater btw" he said.
"And I'm Sacha Woods, I guess." it was silent between us for a while.
"Soo.. what are we gonna do together?" I asked him, but he was still looking at the sky.
"I'm gonna bring you the animal souls, and they are gonna help you with your holiday"
"Ohh.. okay" I say as I get up
"See you soon, then." I say, smiling before I start to walk away. I know this forest so I walk to the willage I know. As I get to the willage, I see people upset about something. Then I see james.
"Yo James!" I say as I ran in front of him
"I'm glad you are okay, mate!" I tried to give him a hug, but I can't. He just went through me.
"What?" I say whit a shaking voice
"Hey! Daphne!" I say the girl whit a hope
"It's me, Sacha guys!" I say spinning around.
"It wasn't your fault, James.." Daphne says to the boy next to him. As they start to walk away, all of them go through me. That it hit me.
"I'm I dead?" I say, looking around to see a picture of me with flowers around it.
Tumblr media
It was a snow day at town. I was looking at the kids have a snow ball fight between each other. I was gonna leave, but I see my favorite twins coming on my way.
"How are my favorite twins doing today?" I say as i looked at them. They were first and the only bleivers I got. We talked till their mother called for them. They go to their home, and I stay on top of the tree looking at the sky.
"Why? Why me?" I say looking at the moon.
"If you're not gonna talk, then why you choose me?"
★At the North Pole★
The bunny and North were arguing on whose holiday is more important when man in the moon or for short Manny get into the view.
"Oh! Man in the moon! Long time no see old friend! Sandy, why didn't you tell us?" Sandy looked so done whit them.
"Pitch..!" Tooth says, looking at the shadow that just appeared.
"What are we gonna do then, Manny?" North asked, looking at the moon. After that, a crystal starts to rise from the ground.
"He's choosing a new guardian!" Tooth say whit a exited voice.
"Why would we need one?" Bunny says, rolling his eyes.
As they waited, a figure popped up.
"Jack Frost?" North say in a suprized voice
"Jack frost! Why him?!" Bunny say annoyed.
"There is one more!" Tooth says this time.
"Two?!" North tell at exited.
"Sacha Woods?" Bunny says and laughs in an annoyed tone
"A prank Star and a Devil side? Come on, Manny!"
"It's okay as long they helped us, right?" Tooth say, and sanndy nods at her comment.
"You don't understand! Jack doesn't care about kids! All his doing is ruin my Easter day! And Sacha? She is on the devil side! We can't trust her!"
"How you know she is on the devil side?" Tooth asked this time.
"I just know, okay!" Bunny says as he turns his back.
★Back to Sacha★
As I was walking through the streets, I saw gold sand in the sky.
"You see that?" I say, smiling to my cat with me.
"Let's go and see!" I say as he jumped my shoulder, and I start to fly towards the electrical wires. I touch one of them and it's shape as craved pumpkins and spin around my head.
My cat shadow was copying me on the other hand. As he touches the sand, it's shaped as fish. I giggle at the picture I was seeing.
I was having fun with my pet but suddenly something ran behind me. Me begin stupid, follow it to a dark alley, and look around.
"Hey! It's so nice seeing you!" A feminen voice rang my ears.
"Tooth Fariy?" I say as I let my guard down.
"Did you get mad at all the candy I'm giving to children?" I say, smirking.
"That's too, but right now it's not" I was confused.
"What-" I lifted up by a yeti from my collar.
"Hey! Let go!" I say as I tried to kick the yeti. I see them took shadow
"Give back my cat!" They trow me into a bag and start moving.
"Right on the time, Tooth!" A voice said, coming towards us. The yetis trow me on the ground so I was free and could go out. As I was getting out of the bag, I saw 2 elfs' looking at me.
"No way!-" I say as i get up from the ground.
"Sacha Wood, it's good to see you, my friend!" North say white opening his arms. I flew away from them and look at them.
"So how was your trip here? Was it good?" North asked
"Yeah! I'm so down for throwing into bags and then a yeti throwing me into a macig portal! This was awesome!" I say in a joking manner
"Good! It was my plan, actually!" North says in an exited voice.
"Soo- why I'm here?" I asked while bending down to pat an elf that brought me cookies.
"We'll wait for one more person," North says, and I lean towards a pillar. After some time, someone -whit the same way as me- brought to the north's place. After answering his questions. We finally get to the point.
"You guys are the new guardians!" North say and the music began, and little Tooth fries tried to give us necklaces from our own symbols. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Pft-JSVSJSB Me? A guardian? Jokes on you, I'm not looking to stuck in a place and do work all day" I said leaning against the table.
"I don't wanna be a guardian" I say as Shadow get on my shoulder and I pet him
"Me either," Jack said this time.
"Of course you guys want to be guardians! Music!"
"No music!" Me and Jack said at the same time and used our powers at the same time as well. So it just creates a cloudy mess around us.

Khash: *running away from wolves just outside of Riverwood, bow broken and out of arrows* I'm so dead I'm so dead- *shrieks, a wolf snapping at her ankles just barely out of reach* Leave me alone! I am almost positive I don't taste good!
Saturn: *whistles, catching the wolves' attention* 'Ey! Leave the kid alone, ya' tuskin' mongrels! *draws her bow as the wolves turn, downing one with a glass arrow*
Khash: Whoa..
Saturn: *turns and launches a containment sphere into the pack, releasing a Dwarven Venator and letting it kill the rest* Phew. *hops down from the ledge she'd perched on, jogging towards Khash with a worried smile* Hey, kid. You okay?
Khash: I-I... I'm fine.. *staring up at Saturn with starry eyes* ... You are very strong.
Saturn: *chuckles* Y'think so? Quite the compliment from such a brave warrior. What're you doing out here?
Khash: I was hunting... What is that? *points at the Venator, quite literally ripping a wolf apart*
Saturn: Oh, that? That's my... *turns to look at it, seeing the mess it made* Oh for Gods' sake, we talked about this. *returns the Venator to its containment sphere* Sorry, it's a bit restless. Haven't gotten a chance to use that one in a while.
Khash: Do you have more of those things??
Saturn: Automatons? Yes, I do.
Khash: How do they work? They really just listen to everything you want them to do?? *gasps, seeing her longsword strapped to her back* Is that your sword?! Why is it so big???
Saturn: *smoke rising from her ears, overwhelmed by the questions, remembering why she doesn't do kids* High Elves need bigger swords than humans. Longer limbs.
Khash: Are you an adventurer?? You have to be, right?!
Saturn: I am, yes.
Khash: Can I come with you???
Saturn: *freezes, staring down at the child with a look of shock* Absolutely not.
Khash: What?! Why not?
Saturn: I'm not going to risk bringing a kid with me. It's dangerous.
Caryalind: Saturn??
Saturn: *looks over her shoulder* Oh, hey guys. Took you long enough.
Kaidan: *hunched over, panting* Gods you're too fast- Where did ye go?
Gore: Uh. And what's with the kid?
Khash: *hiding behind Saturn*
Saturn: Uh.. She was being chased by wolves.
Khash: *staring at Caryalind and Kaidan with a look of shock* Is everyone in your group super tall??
Saturn: Hah. No, just look at Gore.
Gore: Hey!
Kaidan: Well, best we get her home then, ey? I've never seen an Argonian child in Riverwood, though.
Khash: I am a mercenary.
Saturn: ...
Gore: ...
Kaidan: ...
Caryalind: I beg your pardon?
Khash: I am! I can fight very well with a bow!
Saturn: Not.. that I doubt that, kiddo, but where are your parents?
Khash: Dead.
Saturn: (Shit.) Er- a guardian?
Khash: Also dead.
Saturn: ... Yeah y'know what I'm just gonna stop asking questions right now.
Khash: So.. can I go with you? Please? I promise I will not get in the way!
Caryalind: Saturn. A word. *tugs on Saturn's arm and pulls her away, speaking in a hushed voice* You cannot seriously be considering this??
Saturn: Who said I was?! That kid's better off being taken care of, not getting dragged all across Skyrim!
Gore: Not like we can just leave her here, though. A kid by herself is far worse off than a kid with a band.
Caryalind: You would know.
Gore: Yeah, and you wouldn't.
Saturn: Boys, please focus.
Gore: I say let her come. If she decides it's too much, she can leave with no more said.
Caryalind: It's outrageous! Kaidan, please be the voice of reason here.
Kaidan: *already getting along with Khash, checking out her bow* Don't worry yourself none about it, lass. Saturn's a great smith, she'll make ya' a new one.
Khash: Awesome!
Caryalind: *deadpan* Absolutely no help.
Saturn: Look, how about this. *takes Caryalind by the shoulders and faces him towards her* We bring her along, then the second we get a chance we bring her to Riften.
Caryalind: I can't help but feel like that's a worse idea.
Saturn: Have any better ideas?
Caryalind: ... No.
Saturn: And there we go. *pulls away, walking back towards Khash* Alright, kid, you can come. Let's bring you to meet the others.
Khash: Tusk yea!!!
Saturn: Pfft. That's some mouth, kiddo.
Caryalind: Like any of you are any better.
Saturn: Rude.
~
Khash: *Meeko laying in her lap, petting him happily as she listens to stories from Inigo*
Taliesin: *sitting some ways away with Saturn* You are absolutely insane.
Saturn: You're not the first today to tell me that.
Taliesin: It's one thing to just bring her to an orphanage outright, but it's a cruelty even I can't stomach to lie and say she can come with us.
Saturn: She would have fled if we did tell her.
Taliesin: Why bring her along in the first place, then?
Saturn: Kids shouldn't be that young and out on their own. She deserves a safe place.
Taliesin: And are you so sure that orphanage is a safe place? There have been unsettling rumors..
Saturn: ... *sighs, watching Khash interact with her family with a frown* We'll just have to see.

Ninjago Headcanons (Dnd Classes) {E5}
These are my headcanons for what the Ninjago characters DnD classes would be. Minus the obvious rogue and or monk class
This is based on personality of the characters, and events seen in the show, and my own headcanons. I thought about doing muticlassed but in the end decided against it.
Includes some spoliers for olders seasons and references to older seasons and some newer, (Not inculding Dragons Rising)
Let me know if you'd be interested in actual state sheets for the characters and classes.
Lloyd
Paladin: Oath of Glory
Lloyd is an Oath of Glory Paladin. I chose the class Paladin for Lloyd, to reflect his status at the leader of the ninja. As the green ninja he embodies heroism and is looked up to by many. I thought Paladin it his fighting style seen in the show as well. Lloyd often weilds a sword and fights rather agressively, with his element as well. Usually firing off shots if he's farther away while relying on his sword when he's closer. Lloyd's personality also fits a paladin.
I thought the Oath of Glory fit Lloyd as being the Green Ninja he's become a living legend. He inspires those around him as seen in The Hunted (Season 9), when he railled the citizens of Ninjago through a television/radio. He also in Tournament of Elements (Season 4) Is the one that rallies the team back together.
This subclass is all about the embodiment of heroism . Honing your body and mind, being an exemplary hero who enthusiastically takes every challenge and inspires those around you; it's great for roleplaying a Paladin who will become a living legend . (Patricio Kobek on TheGamer)
Cole
Barbarian: The Ancestral Guardian
Cole is an Ancesteral Guardian Barbarian. I chose the class for Cole, as I thought it was the most likely class for him to play. I thought it matched his fighting style we seen in the show. Both in the old seaons and later in the new ones. Cole used to weild a scythe but even then he would attack using his element, by smashing the ground. Even with his weapon changed to a hammer, his attacks now almost look reckless compared to the others. His weapon is heavy and bulky forcing him to make large swings leaving himself open to attacks.
I thought the subclass Ancesteral Guardian fit Cole. Considering the events of Master of the Mountain (Season 13). I like to believe Cole's mother is the Guardian that would fight alongside him. Legacy was a big part of Cole's season. He spent quite sometime in it learning more about his mother than he had ever known. He even gained and learned her move the Spinjitzu Burst.
A family lineage can be very important to a character. A strong bond with that lineage can manifest itself as an Ancestral Guardian. With this path, the spirits of your ancestors will aid you in combat, bolstering your defense, hindering your enemies, and eventually outright fighting alongside you. (Patricio Kobek on TheGamer)
Kai
Bard: College of Swords
I think we all knew this was going to happen... But yeah I picked Bard for Kai. Kai is a College of Swords Bard. He seems to have a high charisma "state" in the show. At least he likes to believe he does. In the old seasons he has a very flashy and flirty personality. He liked being the certain of attention and often was. Which made sense he was supposed to be the main character. Regardless I think Bard still fits Kai in the newer seasons. Such in Prime Empire (Season 12) when he used himself as a distraction for the red visors. Yes, he didn't know he had limited lives but, dang if that isn't the most bard behavoir I've ever seen. Not only that but he did romance the daughter of the BBG in a season.
I thought College of Swords was a a good subclass for Kai. I was tempted to go with a different one. Ended up deciding on swords, because of his own chosen weapon, and the way Kai has been seen fighting. The subclass has different flourishs that allow the player to do different things, even after attacking their target. For some reason this matches what I headcannon to be Kai's fighting style.
If you ever want to be a swashbuckling adventurer, the College of Swords is likely to be your go-to. Similar to the College of Valor, the College of Swords bard gets an extra attack and can use its Bardic Inspiration dice for damage. Unlike the College of Valor, you can use those dice on yourself to do extra damage and receive other benefits.(Patricio Kobek on TheGamer)
Nya
Warlock: The Fathomless
Blame Seabound(Season 14) for my decision on this one. Nya is a Fathomless Warlock. I can see her having a Wojira as her deity, and we saw how that ended. Warlock's can still be in the thick of battles and not restricted to being in the back lines, despite being spellcasters. Nya's weapon being a trident/spear, and the fact we see her often throwing her weapon. I liked the idea that she both fights in the back and front, depending on the situation.
As for her subclass Fathomless deep, need I explain more other referencing Seabound (Season 14). A lot of Nya's times to shine is in the fourteenth season. She is seen being able to communicate with sea life. She stands toe to toe against Worjira, which if ending the season figthing the BBG. Who's also kinda of your deity doesn't scream Fathomless Warlock I don't know what does.
This creative angle on the Warlock connects you to a deity of the underwater realm. This could be a variety of creatures depending on other factors to consider, such as your character's species and their choice of background. You can cast spells like Guardian Coil and Grasping Tentacles, which are just as horrific as they sound. (Patricio Kobek on TheGamer)
Jay
Sorcerer: Storm Sorcerer
Another obvious one I feel. Jay is a Storm Sorcerer. I liked Sorcerer for Jay. Because it does give a refernce to his birth mother. As he learned in Skybound (There is no Skybound in Ninjago) Jay's element came from his birth mother the Elemental master of Lightning. I like to think he'd play a Sorcerer as a way to pay homage to his birth mother.
Storm Sorcerer as a subclass, or the obvious reason. Also because in the show we seen Jay's using his element many times and they fit with the benfits of the subclass. At higher leves Storm Sorcerers get resistnace and eventually immunity to bother thunder and lightning damage, they also can fly at higher levels as well. We saw Jay and his at least Lightning reistance again in Skybound (There is no Skybound in Ninjago) when the team used him as a lightning conductor to protect the ship. He's seen using his element to fly in Tournament of Elements (Season 4) When he is a game show host.
This Sorcerer subclass begins with Tempestuous Magic, allowing you to fly into the sky after an attack as a bonus actionwithout provoking an attack of opportunity. It's disengage as a bonus action for a spell caster, which can come in handy more often than you'd think. (Patricio Kobek on TheGamer)
Zane
Cleric: Knowledge Domain
I'm going to be honest I truly considered making Zane a Wizard. One because he is smart and two as a funny reference to Wizard's Health points and the fact Zane bites the dust like every other seasons (jk but not really... please Ninjago stop the robot abuse) Anyway Zane is a Knowledge Domain Cleric. Clerics are warriors and healers, and while Zane hasn't shown to be able to heal wounds. He did save Pixal's life by offering up half his heart to save her. As seen in Rebooted (Season 3) He would play cleric to help protect and heal his teammates.
Knowledge Domain was my choice for Zane. As listed below there are a lot of benfits that Zane already posses from being a robot. Although one of the others things mentioned is being able to see through time. Zane is one of the characters that has been shown to have, visions of the future frequently through his dreams. As seen in Rise of the Snakes (season 1) and Secerts of the Forbidden Spinjitzu (Season 11) to name a couple.
The Knowledge Domain is great for clerics who want to provide more utility than combat usefulness. This subclass gives you a lot of useful abilities, including more languages, temporary experience in skills and tools, the ability to read minds, and the ability to see through time. (Patricio Kobek on TheGamer)
Pixal
Artificer: Armorer
Pixal is an Armorer Artificer, the class was far to perfect to not give to her. She is the one that makes a lot of the Ninjas gear in later seasons. She makes their vehicles too. Sadly Pixal is usually in the backgrounds of seasons. Which doesn't give her much time to shine but it does give her creation times to shine.
Pixal is an Armorer Artificer, and while the website I used didn't speaker highly of the class. I have the agrument clearly the Samurai X mech was not factored in. Pixal upgraded and changed Nya's orginial Samurai X suit. She is seen using it in combat many times. One of her more impressive feat being in Secerts of the Forbidden Spinjitzu (Season 11) the second book. Where she fights off and holds back the Preeminent.
Not to mention it's already difficult enough to play a frontline Artificer without the right build; this subclass definitely doesn't help with that. It's a decent subclass at best that can be built upon to stand toe to toe with some other classes, especially at higher levels. But you'd have to wait in order to reach that, and most of the time, campaigns don't get to those high levels. Overall the Armorer isn't worth it compared to the other two subclasses coming up. (Patricio Kobek on TheGamer)
Misty
Bloodhunter: Order of the Mutant
Misty is a Order of the Mutant Bloodhunter. Misty's own blood is reasonable to for her corruption of her element. It causes her elemental powers to be unstable. Her powers are affected by her emotions. She constantly fears about losing control.
Order of the Mutant was my choice of subclass, because of the fact Misty is part Oni. This leaves her later on in life with some side affects and mutations.
There are a wide variety of mutagen effects from temporary flight speed to damage resistance to increased damage capabilities and more. While these are great passives to access, the downsides of some of these effects are difficult to ignore. Many of them make it so that your character has disadvantage on some sort of saving throw, making you extra susceptible to common magical effects.

Swordswoman Showdown Round 2 Part 2
Lightning Farron (Final Fantasy XIII) vs Fa Mulan (Mulan)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Better here in a "preferred character" sense, not "who would win in a fight")
Propaganda below cut
Lightning
She uses a Gunblade. A sword thats also a gun. Said to be very rare because it takes so much skill to use. Does lots of slashing and backflips. Later becomes Champion of A God and sword fights a guy for eternity. Later becomes champion of a Different god and uses lots of different swords; She is dramatic and has lots of character growth and is awesome.
#She fights sephiroth#she has a fire sword for Drama#She gets armor too#how can you say no to that face#you want it she can do it
#there’s 10 hours left Lightning did not suffer to lose#ALL SHES BEEN THROUGH AND FOR WHAT#HER CHARACTER GROWTH IN THE GAME IS SO GOOD#SHES BEEN THRU SO MUCH#I JUST WANT WHATS BEST FIR HER#FOR HER#SHE DESERVES IT APL#ALL#RISE LIGHTNING STANS RISE#WHERES UR ANGER#WHERES UR RAGE
#back to rep my girl because I am NOT done talking about her#like she deserves everything okay#having to grow up quick and throw away her childhood to become her sisters new guardian after losing their mom#having to continuously grow stronger not for herself#but to keep Serah safe#and then eventually the need to want to protect others#her new found family#the fact that she would do so much for them by the time we get the third game#how kuch she had to fight all she had to do for the#the sake of humanity#the things she’s been through#it makes you want all the best for her
#i love them both but come on I gotta rep Lightning 😭😭😭#come on she uses her gunblade like a pro#but I love how she’s not afraid to throw hands either or how agile she is#so she doesn’t have to rely on her weapons at all times#she’s strong too like even before becoming a l’cie she can knock down men -snow- twice her size#she has the skills to back herself up#lets not forget she stabbed a god in the face with a survival knife#she’s just constantly getting stronger and she’s pretty#did I mention she’s pretty because#she’s very pretty
#she comes with 2x Big Sister baggage!#you know how much you love Grizzled Cynical Old Man Acquires Child?#get ready for Grizzled But On The Inside Woman Acquires Child Who Is Somehow Even More Cynical and Grizzled than Her#Idolizes Her and Becomes a Mirror Turned Back Upon Her So She Has To Examine Her Shit#also she’s just so cool#unpopular opinion but I love the feel of combat in XIII#I’m not a fan of super granular systems I love the vibes-based play#watching her flip and slash her way around the field kicks ass#like yes bitch u barely need me here#SHE HAS A GAY LITTLE CAPE HOW CAN YOU SAY NO TO A GAY LITTLE CAPR#they couldve made her a little grizzled tho. for Me.
#Did I mention she can grill up a good steak#but that's all she can cook#She stabs a god in the face with a pocketknife#she punches dudes in the face#she meets a hot australian chick and slaps her and then shows her her tits#She has a suit of armor and a horse cause she a knight#yes i'll propagandize for her in her every poll cause she's perf
#Ok but you forgot to mention how Lightning is literally one woman army#She freaking uses magic and summons her stead guardian and even users those giant ass double edge blades and they fight in unison#She is also very acrobatic and elegant with her moves#Even more so in XIII-2 where she is literally fighting a war on her own and now has access to divine abilities making her more of a Paladin
Fa Mulan
stole her father's sword to take his place in the imperial army. defeated the invading leader and stole HIS sword too.
Soldier who saved all of china; She’s one of the ogs, man, her movie is a banger
i know she's a problematic fave but i still love her :(

Finally watched the Super Mario Brothers movie. It was cute with a lot of fun references, but it was also incredibly shallow.
And before you come bitching at me about “kids movies don’t need to be deep!!!1!1!1!!”, the answer is NO, I did not expect a Mario & Luigi movie to be super complex. But I need you guys to understand that the depth of a narrative comes on a spectrum: A deeper story doesn’t have to mean adult-level maturity. It can just mean giving the characters more substance, or exploring their character arc with more emotions, or even just giving them a character arc in the first place. Not to mention, movies like How To Train Your Dragon, Rise of the Guardians, Despicable Me, Encanto, and Turning Red are also movies marketed towards children, but even they managed to be thoughtful and emotionally compelling as well. The idea that children’s content has to be shallow and can’t be anything else is ridiculous, and I will always shut down this argument every time I see it.
Anyway, back to the movie: yes, it was incredibly shallow. The only character that had anything that was even close to a character arc was Mario, and even then, it wasn’t very solid. It felt like the narrative couldn’t decide whether the arc was going to be about Mario feeling small, or about the brothers doing their thing together. If it was going to be about the latter, then the narrative should have had the brothers fight over something meaningful, and then have them reunite in the end. If it’s about Mario feeling small, that’s fine too, but they should have gone harder with it.
In addition, having Mario resolve this arc with powerups is maybe not a great way to send the message. Having him beat Bowser with nothing but his strength and wit would have helped that message more effectively. Like maybe have Mario be the one who thinks of using the shrinking shroom on Bowser.
With Luigi, there’s nothing to say. Didn’t have an arc, didn’t grow or change in any meaningful way, was just kind of there to be Mario’s brother and be rescued. I think a very easy arc for a Luigi, an arc that they seemed to be alluding to, is the idea of him learning to be strong on his own and to not always need his brother’s help. You can have had this narrative where Luigi is kind of co-dependent on Mario and can’t really accomplish things without his help and support. Then; when they get separated, Luigi finds himself alone and can either crumble, or learn to fight for himself and be his own hero.
Nothing to really say about Toad since he was just a side character, but heck, I’ve seen side characters with more depth than this. Tell me how Donkey Kong managed to have more substance to him than Toad with possibly less screen time? I mean, DK’s arc was by no means perfect and suffers from the same shallowness as everything else, but it was probably the closest I came to finding meaning in one of the character’s arcs.
But I have to say, out of all the characters that the movie’s shallowness negatively impacts the most, it has to be Peach. You have this character who has no clue where she’s from, who her family is, who her parents are. She’s taken in by this toad family and is made their princess (for a reason that the movie never bothers to explain). She’s the only known human in the kingdom until Mario comes along. She cares very deeply for the toads, so much that she’s willing to marry Bowser (not really, but the scene makes it seem like she’s going to marry him) so long as it means protecting her toads. And of course, she and Mario do a tad bit of flirting towards the end of the movie, alluding to a romantic connection.
There is so much to draw out of a character like this in terms of storytelling: the pressures of leadership, trying to find a place where you belong, being burdened by a forgotten past, the value of human-to-human connection, getting to enjoy life (and maybe even romance) outside of your royal duties, etc etc. There was so much that could have been done here, and yet, the movie just barely gave any of these things attention if at all. I will give them kudos for not making Peach a condescending girl boss and actually letting her be kind to her male peers, but that’s all I can say.
Bowser was alright. If you don’t give your villain a tragic back story, then I don’t usually care how deep you make them, so long as their villainy is fun and makes some sense. I don’t really understand Bowser’s interest in marrying Peach or ruling the world, which is why he’s “just alright” and not “great”. I didn’t need a super deep, complex story for him, but I at least wanted to understand why he was doing this, given that it was the biggest aspect of his villainy. He could have married anybody, or even just ruled without a wife. Why was it so important to him to make Peach his bride?
Honestly, the biggest thing that plagues this movie is “meh setup, piss poor execution”. In other words, the movie has a lot of potentially interesting ideas that they set up or alluded to…….and then nothing really comes of those ideas by the end of the film. They just toss in the ideas for good measure, but don’t actually do anything with them, which makes them feel really unsatisfying. There are a couple of examples, but Peach’s backstory has to be the most egregious. I don’t understand how you can have a character share something so significant, and then it just never comes up again. Like, ever. How on earth did that happen?
I’m going to wrap up before this post gets too long, but in summary: the movie was cute and fun on a surface level, but the hollow storytelling and underdeveloped plot threads kind of ruin the movie’s rewatchability for me. There’s nothing emotionally compelling to latch onto or discuss, so I don’t have anything else to say. The movie also feels like they want to set up a sequel, so maybe a sequel will do better and address some of the things that were set up here.

Keith: Things are busy here too. Gotta make cookies, look after buncha kids…….
Keith: Sweets are more delicate than regular food, s’for real a pain in the ass……
Brad: I’ve heard of that. How these allergen free cookies are popular with parental guardians as well, to the point they ended up being distributed regularly. “Old man Keith’s cookies” was it
Keith: Geh…. Ain’t a fan of that naming sense
Brad: It’s also been reported that the children have become quite attached too.
Keith: ‘Cuz these guys always whine to play and play with ‘em when I hand out cookies…
Keith: Anyways, haven’t I been working too much lately? I ain’t that kinda character. Pity me a lil’ more here

Dino: We’ll end today’s patrol here! Good job you two.
Junior: You too, Dino
Faith: Did Keith go on ahead?
Dino: Yeah. I think around this time, he should be at a meeting Brad asked him to attend
Dino: He’s been really going for it lately. He’s for sure working more than he did before. I’ll have to follow his example.
Junior: You’re naive, Dino. It’s Keith we’re talking about, maybe he dipped ‘cuz it was too much of a bother
Faith: Aha, probably
Dino: C’mon, he wouldn’t go that far no matter how…..
Dino: Huh? It’s kind of crowded? Is there some kind of event?
Faith: Isn’t it prep for the street fair?
Dino: Oh right, now’s the season for these events in Yellow West
Junior: This year’s highlight is without a doubt the real event of Splashy Colors!
Dino: Splashy Colors?
Junior: A game that’s popular lately. Shooting game where you compete against others by splashing ink.
Dino: Aah, I’ve heard of that! So with real event, you mean that we can get a first hand experience of the game in real life?
Faith: Yep. It seems they’re going all-out with it. Like, the ink is some peculiar creation from the research department that’ll be used.
Faith: In order to represent the game’s setting, they’ve gone as far as to also make gadgets and items too
Dino: Waah, sounds super fun!
Junior: What’s this now, you shitty DJ. Ain’tcha going in full detail now. You a fan of it? Of Splashy Colors.
Faith: Nah. I actually ran into Yellow West’s mayor earlier. Heard how he actually sent in a request for us heroes to participate in the event.
Dino: Eh, really? That’s exciting♪
Junior: Seriously! Hell yeah!
Junior: Obviously we’re gonna join, yeah? Yeah?
Dino: Yeah. We’ll ask Keith too and get everyone on board!
-
Tumblr media
Dino: ---Which means, shouldn’t we go for it and join the street fair event?
Keith: Aah~ About that
Dino: Ah, did they tell you about it already? Junior and Faith are hyped up about it too, we should all enter and we’ll definitely have f---
Keith: I declined
Dino: ………Eh?
Faith & Junior: Huh….?

A Day...
Yesterday was delightful. Fun. Exciting! It turned slightly towards the end, but that was about to be expected for Alex after the long exposure to such large social gatherings. Deb enjoyed herself which was the most important thing.
Returning to the cabin was. Fine... The young guardians- "Taby" and Beno...?- had apparently kept themselves busy and didn't seem too put-off by Alex's day-long absence. They didn’t have to know that the plans were accepted to after their arrival. It was a relief, really.
That relief wasn't to last.
A late night out called for a late morning rise. It wasn’t something Alex usually subscribed to, seeing as the reason for staying up was usually restlessness. Either way, by the time they rolled out of bed, breakfast was already set and ready for them. With an interesting addition…
"What's this?"
“Hmm?” Taby turned around from the sink and smiled. “Oh! That’s your medication!”
Alex blanched, and held the little cup of pills slightly away from them.
“I’m… Sorry? What do you mean ‘medication’?  I don’t take- I-I don’t need that.” They set the cup farther away from them on the table.
“Um…” At least she had the decency to look awkward about her slight. “But… You do! I mean, auntie d–”
“I’m not your aunt.” The response was sharper than they intended, and brought to mind a year or so worth of fights. They winced. “I mean… I can, understand how you’d get it confused but. The two of us are not the same person, so while she might have had some… Health issues, I assure you I don’t, need those.”
The pause stretched awkwardly, the silence heavy. The newcomer in pink smiled and offered an awkward, sad chuckle.
“Y’know, she used to say the same thing?”
Alex simply hummed, taking one or two more bites of berry-laden pancake before excusing themself to the basement. They had research to do. And NOT about any potential medication that this lady was trying to push on them. (They don’t notice Deb enter the room, nor her piqued interest at the new medical item introduced.)
Speaking of their subject of research, he’s been awfully quiet today. Shouldn’t he be pestering (heh) them about a bite to eat by now? But he doesn’t answer his texts… And neither does Dirk, which is even more suspicious, seeing as it’s the weekend. Jake might be doing some photoshoot or another, but Dirk would have to be purposefully ignoring them. Maybe it was a bit prideful to think that he couldn’t do that, but evidence pointed in their favor. It was probably grasping at straws at this point, but Alex tried texting their other daughter. Sami answers, which is a good sign, but it means she’s not with her uncle. She hasn’t seen him in a couple of days either…
Fears officially bubbling over, Alex begins the hunt. First to Dirk’s apartment (empty,) then to Jake’s place (no answer.) After an altercation with Broccoli Rob (who knew that salamanders bit people???) they cut to the chase and teleport directly to him.
“Him” being Jake… Apparently.
It made sense, probably. While they were more concerned about Dirk’s whereabouts, they were in Jake’s house, fighting Jake’s bodyguard. They were looking for him before too, after all.
“Ugh… CUT!!” A loud snap. A rung bell. A bright light. Alex bristled at all the sudden activity, despite being the one to pop into the middle of it.
To their side, Jake was sweating. It was just an action scene, right? Honestly, Alex didn’t really know, and certainly didn’t care. Not at this moment anyway. Ignoring Rob’s protests, they dragged the starlet to a secluded area to have a chat.
Distressingly unsuccessfully.
“Dirk’s fine. And I’m not hungry, although I'm flattered you’d be so eager to feed me as to break into my workplace!!!”
“I asked where he was, not how he was.” There was a tug on their sleeve. “Yes Rob!?”
"Neither of us are supposed to be here, and I ain’t lettin’ you get me in hot water with the big shots, toots!!”
“I- ‘toots’? Listen, I’m not done he– OW!” It was more the surprise of the action than the actual pain, but Rob was a beefy little lizard and a kick to the shin wasn’t something easily rolled off.
Jake took that opportunity to slink out of the room.
“Hey! Where do you think you’re going?” Alex marched (limped) after him a few paces before their friend froze in place.
“Alex, I should really get back to work…”
The bustling around them had shifted. Instead of grumbling and milling about for a quick break, actors and crew members were rushing to places and shouting to one another for props, instructions, makeup… The time to grill him was running out.
“Why is this such a hard question for you to answer?” They looked back at him, brows knit together in frustrated concern. “You realize it’s just making things worse…”
He glared. Jake was glaring at them. It was something so abnormal to witness firsthand; they were taken aback.
“Dirk is FINE. He needed a BREAK.”
“A break… How…” Alex asked, carefully, dreading the answer that already cropped up in their mind.
Just then the bell from earlier rang again. A disgruntled and truly angry yell followed shortly after.
“Oh! That’s me! You know what they say, the show must go on!”
“Wait, just- Jake if I go looking, will I find him?” Alex took a step forward to follow. Jake marched on set as if he didn’t hear.
A memory replayed in their head. A party member missing, another sick, another leaving the scene of the crime…
Rob gave a glare all his own as Alex paced back and forth back in Jake’s mansion. But that was fine, Rob was a Tough Guy with a Tough Guy Look. He took his duty as bodyguard very seriously. It made sense. But whatever was going on here?
Sadly, if they were connecting their dots correctly, it also made sense.
Alex sat on a set of stairs, close enough to the door that they’d know the second that bastard made his way back. They intended to wring him for answers- direct answers, mind you!- Because honestly, the truth of it sucked (pun. Not. intended.) but being butted around like this was so much worse.
Dirk’s account was still up, and still replying, but no one was home. It wasn’t the glitchy, missing text from last time he’d been disappeared.
Tumblr media
After that investigative conversation, Alex just felt… Drained. The cabin was invaded by familiar faces, attempting to do best in the worst ways. Frenchie and Ghostie were obviously freaking out about these new guests as well (or at least one in particular.) Jake had, presumably, drank too much from their boyfriend until he disappeared again. Said boyfriend, even incorporeal, was pissing them off even now with boring little chat responders that Alex knew was primitive for his usual works.
They didn’t want to stay in this mansion where a dog lurked. They didn’t want to talk to Jake anymore. They didn’t want to go home. They didn’t want to ruffle anything more with Frenchie or Ghostie or Zack.
… It was too cold for a child to go camping still.
That evening, Alex collected Deb and they made their way to the Temple. Staying there for the night wasn’t exactly ideal, but it was more appealing than the other options right now…
