Why does it feel like he's looking in a mirror? Why does it feel like he's thinking "this is what you had to become. Here are all the sacrifices you've had to make. But it was all worth it."
Why did they linger on this shot for 4 seconds ?? Is it foreshadowing his death? The lines he's willing to cross to get Omega back? How dark he is willing to become?
We've seen him desperate. We've seen him angry. Sheer, stubborn determination has not left him once throughout this season. But-
"Captain I will need your access card" and Hunter just shoots the guy. Stone cold, no reaction. I'm not even sure if his weapon was set to stun. The absolute batshit crazy plan to catch a ride to Tantiss attached to the bottom of that imperial ship. The absolutely chilling "negative" with no music score over it.
Should we be scared?

hi hi hi im getting back into Star Wars Rebels again (I think at this point I'm hyperfixating on everything right now HFHDHDH) and it still boggles my mind just how important Ezra is to Star Wars and no one seems to notice/care/wants to admit it and it makes me *yells screams*

The Bad Batch
Somehow, somehow, I have forgiven Dave Filoni for all the pain tcw brought me. But if he takes Tech or any of the batch away from me for good I will never ever forgive him.

Come here children. Come here. Sit down. Take my hands. Listen.
Here’s what we are not going to do. We are not going to let them unravel us and leave us in a heap of bawling bodies. They want us to sob until our eyes fall out and we rupture our abdominal organs because they’re heartless and sadistic and part of STAR WARS—shhh, steady—but we are going to remain CALM. Call it denial, call it call it bargaining, call it what you will, but he’s not gone.
Deep breaths, all together now. Crying is cathartic and necessary for coping with the emotional abuse we endure at the hands of Filoni et al., but don’t cry from lost hope. I’m serious. Was it among the worst things we could have possibly been forced to watch? Has a good majority of the fandom been mulling where the hell we are supposed to find the will to go on after that? Of course. But they’ll be back. And Tech will be, too.
Hush, child. Listen to me.
There was a reason he fell into cloud-cover. He could have been falling into anything. Water can be lethal from that height, yes, but let’s all just remember what Hunter pulled in War-Mantle with falling OUT OF A SHIP and down a LITERAL MOUNTAIN and surviving that with JUST HIS KNIFE. HIS KNIFE, KIDS. Tech accepted what he was doing, and he was okay with dying if that was what this meant, but he’s Tech. Once he fell from view he did whatever he could to increase his odds of getting out of it alive. Trust.
Speaking of falling from view— we know the Clone Wars rules. No body, no confirmed death. Forget that— we know the STAR WARS rules. Even if someone gets SLICED IN HALF before your VERY EYES and FALLS AN INDETERMINABLE-BUT-DEFINITELY-NOT-SURVIVABLE DISTANCE, they STILL aren’t dead. Further still, if you had put the two scenes in front of me with no context, I would have said Echo’s death in an EXPLOSION of FIRE seemed more final and certain that Tech falling away from us. And no, I don’t care about the argument that it’s a kId’S ShOW so they wouldn’t show us the body. Go watch Colt’s death and get back to me. Or you know, pretty much any Clone Wars episode.
BUT THE GOGGLES, you wail. I know, dear heart, I know. I see the cracks in them every time I close my eyes. But Hemlock getting his hands on those isn’t confirmation of anything other than what we already know— no matter where he wound up, Tech is having a Very Bad Time™️. Whether he lost them on the extremely unpleasant way down or whether he’s being experimented on in critical condition is hardly a nicer thing to know, but we’ll take just about anything right now if it means we’ll see our boy again, won’t we?
Shhh, I’m not through. We also have that scene with Phee. If it had been a true goodbye, if Tech had shown an ounce of the development he had with Omega about differences in emotional processing and communication, you’d have seen my soul depart through the atmosphere. But no. That scene’s entire purpose was to be unresolved. Was it just to make us incurably sad in retrospect? Maybe. But my gut says no— there’s more he needs to say to her.
On that note, the same goes for Tech and Crosshair. I refuse to believe we’ll never see them together again. I don’t have anything stronger than my refusal, but my feelings on this are rock solid. There’s also the important issue of THE Bad Batch theme— you know how they’ve established a precedent of not using it unless the whole Batch is together? Collectively, we’re going to refuse to believe they’re going to break that now. And there’s too much love for that theme to never hear it again.
Finally, beloveds, we come to our old favorite: story analysis. You know I’m insufferable about this, but listen. If we look at screenwriting, if we look at story structure, if we look at BEATS, this is the old “DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL” for the Batch (and us obviously). It’s the ALL IS LOST. The EVERYTHING IS AWFUL AND THE HEROES ARE AT THEIR LOWEST LOW. It’s the classic “oh my god this second installment is EMOTIONAL TORTURE HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO ME” that we can point to in novels, shows, and film series again and again. It’s the ESB ending, it’s the Catching Fire ending, it’s the Rebels S2 AHSOKA IS D E A D AND ANAKIN KILLED HER ending. S3 will open as they enter Act III, where they use what they’ve learned to move upwards toward the finale of this particular story arc. Doesn’t that sound like something nice to cling to?
There now. If I’m wrong, I’ll give you all the choice of k!lling me first or tossing me alive out of a plane with no *hard swallow* parachute, jet pack, or functional grappling gun. But I truly believe you won’t have to.
In the year or two we have to wait, cry for his absence, cry for the Batch being more fractured and farther apart than they ever have been, cry for Hunter feeling like he’s failed everyone he loves, cry for all of it, but not because you’ve lost hope that all might not be lost.
Tech will be back.

Why are so many people acting as if that’s it??
I’m like 90% sure they’re building up for another season? They wouldn’t just leave it like that?
And there ain’t no way Ezras just gonna leave Sabine out there, he’s gonna either convince Hera to go with him or go alone to bring her home safe.
Like hear me out. They see each other again. Ezra is back where he spent the last ten years. Sabine is pleased but also a little confused.
S: ‘I sent you home! Why did you come back?’
E: ‘Its not home if you’re not there’
Give me some cheesy ass shit filoni we deserve it.

Do you think it truly was Anakin that Ahsoka saw, or a force vision of some sorts?
I love both so much that I can't choose!!! I suspect that Filoni meant for it to truly be Anakin (if nothing else, a parallel to Qui-Gon's appearance on Mortis, which I think Filoni believes was really him), but I can't rule out that he would be doing a Dagobah cave style vision through the Force for Ahsoka, where it's not really him at all, but what she is bringing to the table. If it's really him, it says so much about Anakin being there for her to spur her on when she needs it, that the Force has been trying to nudge her into dealing with this since at least that vision in the Jedi Temple on Lothal, that maybe it really took him finally being there, maybe it took her being on the verge of death for her to finally be ready to see him, for her to finally start to move past all of this and find full peace within herself again!!!!! If it's not really him, it's all about how much Ahsoka misses him, how much her life was shaped by him, how much he is still a wound on her soul, and how much she needed to hear that it's okay that she still holds onto what he taught her, because he didn't just pass on death and destruction to her, that he also passed on the will to live, the will to rise above mistakes and still keep trying, that she was finally ready for her Dagobah cave moment to sink in and this was all about Ahsoka's story and what she brought to it!!!! If you really pressed me, I suppose I would lean slightly more towards that it was really him, but catch me half an hour from now and I'll probably be leaning back the other way, because both options are SUCH interesting context for what Ahsoka was going through!!!!

WARNING! AHSOKA SHOW RANT DOWN BELOW! SPOILERS!
Furthermore, I’m going to be completely honest in this review so if you’re someone who truly enjoyed the show, you’re a Rebels stan, etc. then this post isn’t for you. Haters will be blocked immediately so take your negative energy elsewhere. You have been warned!
Tumblr media
For everyone else, buckle up because I’ve got a lot to say and I’d love to hear your thoughts on this as well. All comments are welcome so long as they are respectful to everyone.

Okay, so now that the show is done for now. I’m going to be listing some major talking points. We’re there some aspects of the show that I enjoyed/appreciated? Absolutely! But overall, I’m leaving this show very disappointed, confused, and frustrated. The finale left me feeling empty and never have I personally been more silent after a Star Wars show. Now mind you I think this has a lot to do with the fact that I love Ahsoka’s character dearly as well as the Clone Wars and the prequels so there is bias here. Furthermore I am pretty indifferent with Rebels so going in knowing that the Ahsoka show wasn’t going to be…well about Ahsoka but rather a Rebels sequel, that already put a bad taste in my mouth and I was very nervous how this show was going to go and well…it was exactly what I expected from a Filoni/cheap Disney production. Without further ado, here’s a list of all my beef.
1.) Lack of a Coherent and Cohesive Story
So I’ve mentioned this in a previous post, but my main issue with Dave Feloni productions is that the story seems to be going all over the place and there’s a lot of moving parts that don’t necessarily meld well together. I often think to myself that Ahsoka is an example of a poorly written fanfiction brought to the screen. So the plot of the show initally was focused on Ahsoka bringing Ezra home. Okay, that’s simple, there’s many different ways we can make that cool and interesting but that’s not what happened here. We’re just filled with a ton of confusing information and we’re in for a very boring journey heading for a very anticlimactic and unsatisfying ending.
For starters, we the audience are informed that Ahsoka and Sabine had started an apprenticeship (which I have ALOT of issues with but that’s for another talking point) but they got into a tiff (which we never find out about and/or see) and now things are just depressing and weird between them. First of all, anyone who has seen Rebels KNOWS that Ahsoka and Sabine literally had very little to do with each other; I can’t recall a single conversation those two have had in the past, nor was it ever eluded to us that Sabine is Force sensitive.
Second we see that Hera and Sabine don’t have anything to do with each other for some reason? Which is weird considering all that’s happened and their history but okay suddenly Sabine, a grown ass 30+ year old woman is Ahsoka’s responsibility, which again why? We don’t get any background information, we’re just expected to accept and go with it.
Third, Ahsoka and Hyuang are reunited and working together immediately but again do we know how that became to be? No. We see none of that.
Fourth we are told that Morgan Elsbeth, a one off antagonist from the Mandalorian that Ahsoka fought is suddenly a Dathormirian woman even though she looks nothing like one besides her outfits in the show nor was that eluded to previously.
Fifth, we are introduced to these two new…I don’t even know what to call them “dark siders” “non Jedi” Shin and Baylan (who is apparently a former Jedi from the Clone Wars but did we see that or see how he knew Ahsoka and Anakin? No.) but we aren’t given any reason to care about them other than they’re in Ahsoka’s way of completing her mission. They end up being more like time fillers that anything else and end up walking away from the big conclusion. Like…why are they even in this show and why should we care?
Perhaps Dave Feloni has this big grand story in his mind but he’s so far up his own ass that none of us get to see this story. It’s like seeing a little kid play with their action figures and they’re super passionate about it but as a outsider you have no idea what’s going on. Now this isn’t good not only for the sake of good storytelling but it’s bad for business too.
Disney wants to make as much money off of Star Wars as they can. That’s extremely obvious. However here you have a show that isn’t going to pull in a casual Star Wars viewers (they would have to watch so much content to catch up on whose who and what is going on) nor is it really going to pull in fans of Clone Wars and Rebels because while they overlap, the fandoms are different and Feloni hasn’t done a good job melding those worlds together thus the divisive opinions on this show. This leaves for an incredibly small niche of people and honestly I think whatever toy sells they make from this show will do better than the actual ratings. I would be shocked if they greenlit for another season because I’m pretty done with this story as is many of the people who would be willing to watch.
All in all this is embarrassing how Feloni and the gang with all the money and resources can’t pull off a simple and epic show when there are thousands of unpaid fanfic writers that could pull off a much better story and build these beloved up characters, which leads into my next point.
2. The Characterizations of Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera Are Bad
Now I have mentioned previously how much I love Ahsoka but damn it upon watching this show, she may as well be dead. Ahsoka has been given the Luke Skywalker treatment in that Ahsoka has been stripped of everything that made her lovable in Clone Wars and Rebels and is left as a sorry shell of who she once was. Her dialouge is hollow and lifeless not like the lively Ashley counterpart that made us all love Ahsoka in the first place. And no don’t give this “well she’s older now” bullshti excuse because Obi Wan Kenobi never lost his cheekiness and charisma as an old man, neither did Yoda, or Leia, etc. Just because you age doesn’t mean you have to be lifeless. Maturity does not equate to emotionless. Secondly for a woman whose well into her fifties and still acts very much like a Jedi Ahsoka’s views on the Jedi and their philosophy seem very warped and the audience is again left confused as to where she stands on the Jedi. I mentioned in a previous post how I couldn’t stand Ahsoka’s negativity towards the Jedi and how nobody seems to matter but Anakin (even though he’s put her through a ton of trauma and has tried to kill her as Vader) because it’s just so distasteful to the people who raised her and loved her that died by genocide no thanks to Anakin. Ahsoka has zero character development other than she seems to forgive Anakin for his wrongdoings despite the nonexistent apology. For a show that has her name on it, she sure is boring. Makes me miss Ashley and old Ahsoka even more.
As for Sabine I probably could write a whole thesis on how unlikeable she is but I’ll keep it short. One, I find it sick on Feloni’s part that he’s having a grown 30+ year old woman act like a teenager and be snarky with just about everyone. Ezra, who annoyed me immensely in Rebels, was WAY more mature and grounded. And again I’m sick and tired of the Mandalorian excuse of you getting to be an asshole because youre Mandalorian. Shut up. No one is above manners and decency. Sabine’s actions in this show have been far from Jedi like and thanks to her immaturity, she left Ahsoka for dead once and is indirectly responsible for the death of New Republic officers who were trying to stop this very dangerous mission that could possibly bring Thrawn and the Empire back ensuing more death and destruction of innocents. Ahsoka deserves to be angry with her for her words and actions, but of course Sabine gets a free pass and her bad behavior will continue to be enabled.
As for Hera…when did she become such a Karen? Just because you’re an officer doesn’t mean you get to abuse your power for your own personal agenda. That Senator was right about her. Finding Thrawn is a threat to the galaxy and using resources and putting lives at risk for it is a big deal. Hera was depicted as honorable and responsible in the Rebels series and I swear I was watching a different person on screen. Also she is a major Sabine enabler and that needs to stop. Sabine is grown and needs to grow up and fix her attitude.
3.) Anakin’s Role In the Show
Now don’t get me wrong, I love Hayden and I love Anakin, I have the dude tattooed on me for Force sake so don’t come at me for that, but I had some issues on how his character was used here. First, I’m tired of Ahsoka’s relevance to Anakin being the only defining trait about her. Second, I’m continuously annoyed by Anakin’s lack of accountability in these shows; he never once apologizes to Ahsoka for all that’s happened, he never once’s has a meaningful conversation with her; he just basically beats her down until she finally lets go of her past. Did I love the Clone Wars flashbacks! YES! They were my favorite part of the entire show and I want MORE of that; but I so wish Anakin could have been reflecting on his own actions with Ahsoka instead of being like “Is ThAt WhAt ThIs Is AbOuT?” Like come on 🙄
4.) Ahsoka’s “It’s Time To Move On” Line
Are you kidding me Ahsoka? There is still so much more to unpack with her past such as all the other relationships she’s had that completely changed her trajectory like BARRISS and REX and she could also be a mentor figure to Luke and Leia, etc. But nope the only thing that matters is getting over Anakin and all is well despite being stranded in another galaxy and Thrawn being unleashed back home. Like THIS IS NOT OKAY!
5.) The Cheap Ass Production of this Show
I’m not normally one to comment on production but it was so obvious in this show how many corners were cut. For one characters like Thrawn look god awful. Dude looking like a blue Elon Musk instead of an intimidating villain. The use of fog and the volume were very obvious and the places we went to were so boring minus the red leaves forest. The worlds of Star Wars used to be so cool and otherworldly but that’s not the case nowadays and it’s sad. Also why does Force ghost Anakin look better in the 2000’s than it does now? I prefer quality over quantity so I really wish Disney would quit churning out these cheaply made productions and have the audacity to rise their Disney plus subscriptions and not pay their people well.
6.) THE RACISM
I’m so fucking tired of this y’all! 🤬 of course make the Jewish actor in the shipyard be greedy and power hungry. Of course make the Asian Senator the asshole and not any of the white protagonists. The antisemitism and racism against POC is unacceptable to me and it should be unacceptable to you too.
Conclusion
I’m sure I’m missing some talking points but these are my biggest grips and as an Ahsoka fan I’m disappointed. Being a miserable Jedi not Jedi responsible for bringing a new evil into the galaxy but being content being stranded in another galaxy is not the future I believe Ahsoka deserves and I sincerely hope they don’t continue this story. It’s just bad all around. Except for the Loth cats… the Loth cats can stay. And Clone Wars flashbacks.

The fact that Dave Filoni called Anakin “the greatest Jedi ever” is proof that he’s bias AF. His anti-Jedi rhetoric is bupkis.
I wonder if he means "the greatest" in terms of in-universe fame...?
Dunno if this is the case in Canon (then again Dave Filoni blatantly ignores any *non-motion* transmedia elements in Canon so meh), but in Legends he's:
"Anakin Skywalker, the Hero with no Fear™, handsome, dashing, the face of the Republic's army during the Clone War, the only Jedi who tried to resist the nefarious Order's coup and was treacherously murdered for it".
And I seem to remember that, in Canon, he's like the Jedi Temple's superstar anyway, every Jedi recognizes him on sight. I mean, that line from Baylon about "Anakin speaking highly of Ahsoka" must have some meaning beyond artificial personal stakes.
So from a fame and a "power level" standpoint... sure.
He's the greatest.
I'm giving Filoni the benefit of the doubt.
While I've talked about why Filoni's entire headcanon about the Jedi doesn't track with what George Lucas' intended narrative, I think it's worth acknowledging that Filoni's bias comes from part of his duties while directing The Clone Wars was.
One of the goals of TCW was humanizing Anakin, expanding upon his character make him go from "a character whose only purposes is to embody the themes presented in three movies based on the matinee serial format" to a relatable person, a good man, the hero Ben mentions to Luke in A New Hope.
I think it's normal that he'll see Anakin in a more positive light.
Also (and full disclosure this is just me theorizing I am no authority on any of this so if turns out I'm wrong just come right out and say so)...
I'm pretty sure that Filoni, Lesley Headland and most of the recent Star Wars authors are all Gen X, raised by baby boomers forced to conform to society, obey authority and have proper decorum (boys don't cry!) all of which they strove to rebel against. Add to that the corruption they witnessed growing up and coming out of high school, and you see a kind of jadedness emerge. "The rules aren't as black and white, the world is grey."
So while most of them and the boomers despised the Prequels upon release, a few of them projected a more individualistic headcanon onto those movies that fit with where their head was, at the time.
As such: Anakin isn't interpreted by them as a cautionary tale about what happens when you're greedy. He's a misunderstood rebel, a non-conformist who has his flaws but is ultimately good at heart. Which isn't entirely inaccurate, but it is very clearly an embellishment of a character who will one day become a space nazi.
The fact is... the Prequels were made by a boomer. One with very liberal values and who was himself a rebel, but a boomer all the same. The whole point of his story is...
"we all must come together and fight as one, if push comes to shove; we must all be compassionate and selfless if we are to survive; don't be greedy, let people go when it's their time to leave".
And then he makes the Jedi say that, making them beacons of truth and good and compassion in his fairy tale, now aimed at Gen Z kids.
Gen X-ers hear/read that and project all the boomer BS they had been told onto the Jedi...
"oh, so the Jedi are saying you shouldn't love yourself, you shouldn't be yourself, you should give up on what makes you an individual to fit in, you shouldn't feel any emotions"
Because nobody is that good, realistically, right?
This happened in other mediums. The one that comes to mind on the spot is the relationship between Mufasa and Scar.
In The Lion King, Mufasa is strong and noble, Scar is weak and conniving. Simple enough. Around that same time, in A Tale of Two Brothers, young Mufasa is shown to be pretty nice with Taka (Scar), who is framed as a spoiled brat to begin with.
Skip to the 2019 remake, and it's hinted Mufasa gave Scar his wound, and in The Lion Guard they explain that Scar got his nickname from Mufasa mocking him for a misadventure.
He went from being a noble king to a bully who had it coming, Scar is an underdog who got picked on. Because again: nobody is that pure, right? Fairytales be-damned.
Nothing is black and white, it's all grey.
So yeah, long story short I do think that Filoni being part of the generation that wasn't the target demographic but was old enough to retcon the crap out of the Prequels also plays a role into his view of Anakin.

Ahsoka’s last question to Sabine before her Fall was this:
“Can I count on you?”
versus
Tumblr media
Ezra’s first statement to Sabine after being separated for a decade:
“I knew I could count on you.”
Me:
Tumblr media
You guys see what I’m getting at, right? Another classic Star Wars parallel!
You’ve got Ahsoka, her mentor, unsure of placing her trust in Sabine to do the right thing.
And then Sabine does what she does to save Ezra. With Ahsoka’s question lingering in her mind the whole time.
And then Ezra reappears. And he says exactly what she needed to hear. That someone who trusted her had that faith rewarded; that she didn’t let them down.
Filoni, I am in your walls. I see what you’re doing.
Even unknowing of what she’s done, it’s Ezra consistently placing unconditional trust and appreciation for Sabine juxtaposed against everyone else leveraging her to get something.
Ezra. Always having faith in her, when she doesn’t feel it for herself. When no one else does.
Tumblr media
Is it any wonder that she fell so hard for him?

I guess what keeps me up at night is asking what's the point of Sabine's search for Ezra, like... as an emotional arc.
(This text is an adaptation of the thread I wrote on Twitter)
Because when I rewatch the fourth season of Rebels, I get the impression that they are paired together in many episodes as a way to prepare us for a hurtful goodbye between the two at the end of the show, which is to me the same reason why they decided to go heavy on confirming Kanan and Hera's romance because they knew he was going to die.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't really know if the parallels between Sabezra and Kanera are intentional considering how Filoni talks about the former, but Ezra does become Kanan (even has a whole stretch arms sacrifice) and Sabine does become Hera (Deep grief for losing him) and not in a "The kid got this from his/her parent." sense, but in the sense of that the situation is really similar, which is interesting because it wasn't like this originally.
Ahsoka made Sabine's grief towards Ezra not being by her side all the time a thing.
Tumblr media
Instead of simply letting Sabine's mission be about bringing Ezra home like in the original animated epilogue, Filoni complicates things a little bit by implying that Sabine is not doing this for Ezra, but for herself. Beyond that, almost every character notices how devoted she is to him and it even confuses some of them.
Thrawn, for example, has studied Sabine. He is well aware that Ezra is her compatriot and friend and yet... he is confused by her choice. Sabine states "You wouldn't understand." and then accepts to be stranded on Peridea just to see Ezra again. Once she found him and even after hearing he wants to get home, she did not say a word about Thrawn being his only ticket home. Instead, she simply enjoys time with him.
Tumblr media
If you know Sabine Wren, you know that she would never ignore a huge Imperial threat and put in danger people like Hera, who is definitely an older sister type of role model to her, or feel that Ezra is the only family she has, so I do understand why people think she is very distant from the original show.
There might be a reason for all of this. A reason that I'm not sure Filoni wants to dive into, but the way he's been writing Sabine, the vagueness every time Ezra is the conversation's topic, feels like she has fallen in love with him during his absence and honestly? This makes far more sense than any other explanation.
We've seen in Star Wars before, fiction in general, that love is blind. Sabine's focus on finding Ezra is described by Baylan as something that blinds her. Not only this would justify her out of character attitude, but also the parallels with Kanan and Hera.
Star Wars live-action TV shows this year have been interesting to decode. In both The Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka season 1, there's a lot of subtle implications that characters want to build a life with somebody.
Mando does this in Chapter 22 - Guns For Hire, an episode surrounded by romantic love, where a droid bartender tells Din and Bo that human life is so short and then they look at each other. They want to be together, but that has not been verbalized yet. It is still very much in the subconscious.
Tumblr media
Ahsoka does it in Part 7 - Dreams and Madness, by showing Sabine's lack of urgency regarding Thrawn and simply enjoying Ezra's company. It really implies that this was what her mission was all about: Be with Ezra. Her real desire is build a life with him, but that desire is still in the subconscious.
Tumblr media
I believe Favreau knows all of that when it comes to Din and Bo.
BUT DOES FILONI KNOW THAT WHEN IT COMES TO SABINE AND EZRA?

NOW let's ADDRESS the BANTHA in the room!!!
As a filmmaker, and a writer myself, when you build up a romantic relationship between two individuals you empathize how their relationship is growing.
Now, the sparks were definitely there in episode 2!
Tumblr media
That look, (a Medium Close Up on Bo's face) which she gave to Din, after he honored her father's sacrifice could be the foundation, on which the show builds upon.
Unfortunately, afterwards there were no real indications.
No real discussion about Bo losing her castle, no real discussion by the fire when they went to rescue Ragnar, no discussion after the Armorer allowed her to take off her helmet (biggest plot whole so far), no discussion about why she wouldn't challenge Din for the Darksaber, no real discussion about their pasts (bonding is essential, but it's lacking here)... and other minor things that pile up into frustration in the viewer and later disappointment, because GLANCES at each other are NOT ENOUGH to build a relationship up, especially if they are not emphasized (there are no lingering camera close ups on neither Bo nor Din).
And unfortunately, NO the sitting closely beside each other scene is NOT an ENOUGH of an indicator of how closely their relationship is progressing...
Tumblr media
HOWEVER!!!!!!! HEAR ME OUT!!!!
Jon Favreau amd Dave Filoni gave too much time and importance to Bo Katan's character on screen for them to then back out of it and return to simple bounty hunting episodes for Din. (In my opinion that would kill the show!)
It actually dawned on me that they are building up Bo's character too much...
She won back too much this season...
You might ask:
WHERE AM I GOING WITH THIS?
Since we know that there will be a season 4 for sure, and we have not yet seen Moff Gideon, nor Admiral Tarkin appear...
My Predictions are that Jon and Dave will play a (NASTY) card; (Filoni is known to love drama from Clone Wars, so...)
When The finale of this season comes and there's a big battle against the Mandalorians, Bo will be CAPTURED. (Or maybe injured, but that's not dramatic enough...)
This would set up the tension and the anticipation for the next season and would also give a perfect reason for Din to realize his feelings for her.
This would also push him to become the leader of her people and rescue her in season 4!
ADDITIONALLY, this show is about family (traditional family) structure.
Bo and Din spent too much time together, for the show runners not have any goal with this. (Even though they rarely talked WITH each other, rather they only talked TO each other, NOT the same thing!!!!)
I think that if they don't make DINBO happen this season the foundations were laid for the next season! (Slow burn)
ALSO, this entire third season was about how WELL they can WORK TOGETHER, so why waste the opportunity? Why not make Bo, Din and Grogu a family? (Although it could happen that they don't do anything with this, Disney is known for chickening out of real commitments!)
But After all these things these went through... Hmmm...

Hopefully this is the case, otherwise Season 3 of The Mandalorian is a sinking ship....
Anyway, there is still 2 episodes left and the way Axe Wolves has known in the beginning of episode 6 that the Quarren and the Calamari tried to run away for love (“I know it was for love.”) I predict that he will confront Bo about why wouldn't she challenge Din, and then he would find out that she has feelings for the bounty hunter.

Neyo: Well, Commander Ponds. I'm actually surprised that you somehow befriended with that General Windu. Even looks like he has fond of you.
Ponds: Well, he's not the first friend of my, who had to hide his kindness and emotions under most hard and stubborn attitude due to his responsibility.
Neyo: ...Oh really? How kind of you, caring and supporting those assholes others don't like so much.
Ponds: It's worth it to me. Because I care about you as my friend.
Neyo: ...
Just thinking about Neyo and Ponds relationship that officials never gave to us
+) nah Ponds never died do you hear me filoni
Neyo: Wow, I'm surprised that you are still alive after that kidnapping and threatening.
Ponds: Yes, and I love you too.
Neyo: And I'm regretting already about this visit.
Ponds: Yes, next time can you bring me some caf? Medic won't allows me.
Neyo: You still have death wish or something? Do it yourself if you want anything.
Ponds: Thank you brother. See you next time!
Mace: ...Are you okay, Ponds? Your head injury isn't going worse right?
Ponds: No, sir. Just I'm one of the few brothers who can translate Neyo's sarcastic wording in to true meaning even Neyo doesn't want to know.
Mace: Oh, I see.

TBB SEASON 3 EP 9 THOUGHTS & FEELINGS!!!!! | spoilers below ✨
• UHM OKAY CAN WE JUST GET A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR ALL OF US THAT KNEW FENNEC WAS TALKING TO VENTRESS LAST EPISODE 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
• Okay, hear me out: It’s totally possible Omega has a high M-count and could be Force-sensitive. But also, could it be possible that she may not have a high enough M-count to be trained yet her M-count doesn’t degrade since she isn’t aging at an accelerated pace? It could be that for whatever reason the clones’ M-counts degrade over time because their ages are accelerated, genetic degradation due to when they were conceived, what batch number they were, Jango Fett’s DNA degradation, etc? This also begs the question that normal Force-sensitive beings’ M-counts might possibly degrade as they age but not enough to alter their connections/abilities to tap into the Force, especially if they’ve been trained. Idk, it’s definitely possible for Omega to be Force-sensitive but we will just have to see.
•Asajj Ventress, you dropped this 👑
• Her fight sequence with Crosshair had me wishing I was her so bad.
• Crosshair being so brotherly and protective is still 100000/10. “You did.” Implying he was heavily against not intervening in Omega’s tests w/ Ventress but he let her go do it anyway because he loves and trusts his sister.
• TECH MENTIONED AGAIN I—PLEASE BRING HIM BACK I SWEAR FILONI I AIN’T PLAYIN AROUND.
• Wrecker this episode was so 🥹🥹. Him trying to cheer up Omega by telling her they should go eat was so cute.
• I adore Omega’s ability to see the best in people. She doesn’t immediately cast people off because of their pasts and that’s a quality I think many people lack today. We saw Crosshair tell her she’s being naive in an effort to protect her but I don’t think she is being naive. I think she genuinely sees the better part of people and will always be willing to give someone a chance.
• I am once again asking, WHERE TF IS ECHO. Ik he’s with Rex but PLEASE bring our boy back. I’m so tired of the family not being all together.
• DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THAT WE DID NOT SEE CROSSHAIR’S HAND TREMBLE AT ALL THIS EPISODE??? Like not once did we see him shake out his hand or scowl at it. He was steady as hell when he was shooting at Ventress!! His meditation sessions with Omega must be helping 💜💜💜💜
• Crosshair skipping down the Marauder’s steps to help Omega into the ship, adorable. AND THEN EXTENDING HIS HAND TO VENTRESS AFTER NOT WANTING TO TRUST HER. This is such wonderful character development. I think Omega has definitely rubbed off on Crosshair a bit. He’s trying to give people a chance, just like Omega did with him. 🥹🥹🥹
• I really do love that the Batch doesn’t want to let Omega go, esp Hunter and Crosshair. Hunter went months without knowing if she was okay, let alone even alive when she was on Tantiss. Obviously she and Crosshair have such an unbreakable bond at this point that ofc he doesn’t want to let her go either.
• It would be so cool if she is, in fact, Force-sensitive and that she goes off to be trained by Ventress or someone else in order to protect her brothers. But tbh it’s not the best ending the show could have imo. It would be so bittersweet but I also think fall kind of flat for Omega’s character if that were the ending of the entire show. A huge part of me just wants them to all stay together and live happily ever after. Ik it’s Star Wars and we probably won’t get that but still, it’s nice to dream that it could happen.
• And lastly
Tumblr media
I will be thinking about this for the rest of the week.

“There’s some songs I use to focus my mind on their relationship [Kanan and Hera] in particular. Some lyrics that really…because I was always like, ‘How do I define for people what this relationship is? I would get these songs and I’d tell the crew, ‘You have to listen to this song, listen to the lyrics, hear the lyrics. This is what she’s thinking, this is what she’s about.’ And then there are other symphonic pieces of music that I listen to and I’m like, ‘This really pulls it, the drama of what I feel these two are about.’ I really like these characters, I like the people that play them. I think they’ve just done a great job at bringing these characters to life. One day, maybe when we’re done, when we’re through, remind me and after the season and I’ll tell you what the songs were.” -Dave Filoni (x)
So I’m going to need Filoni to drop his Kanera playlist please
