Thoughts on the ROTTMNT 3 Months AU comic that’s become popular recently(for good reason, it’s really good lol)?

My thoughts on it? Well, I agree with you - from what I've seen, I think it's really good!

Admittedly - I'm having a bit of trouble staying caught up with all the various fan comic series that have been popping up in the past few months, there's so many good ones. And as much as I'd love to read and reblog every update of each, it's a lot to stay on top of and I end up missing quite a bit or having to put it off and then play catch-up.

But I think the premise of this one is interesting, I'm really curious to see where it's going! It's nice to see a Mikey-centric work, for once, too. I feel like he gets overlooked a lot, plot-wise, outside of being the family therapist.

And the characterization is on-the-mark, as well - I especially love the expression work! This scene in particular really stood out to me in respect to that. ❤

I think the hair change only happens if you ask Shadowheart to undress first. (If you need to take screenshot or smth) That said I hope that bug gets fixed in the next patch.

Actually there is just so many Shadowheart stuff that is bugged or otherwise unavailable in the game that if Larian suddenly decided to care about that it would make the rest of the fandom complain about her getting so much content.

I've heard there's a couple bugs with Shadowheart—complete hearsay that if you play a Selûnite, one unique kiss doesn't trigger?—and the supposedly recently added "Act 2 banter" when romancing her has literally never triggered for me either. Dunno what else is bugged, but it's unfortunate either way. I hope it all eventually gets fixed, though.

Tbh, I think there's other companions that need more/fleshed out stuff (especially Wyll, give the man a fuller sex scene and let him address the PC differently during a romance...) but I take most of the people getting really worked up about other characters getting "more" than their faves with a grain of salt. There's far too often some level of misunderstanding going on, like when people thought that the Valentine's Update was only about kisses.

The pain of a fanfic with the perfect premise and summary, but it's just completely unrefined.

(FYI I know I'm spoilt rotten by ao3 and it's generally slightly older fandom population. But with the rise in popularity of famdom and fanfiction becoming more mainstream, there are many new users, often but not always younger. Please observe fandom etiquette before interacting with fandom spaces, we were all watchers once upon a time.)

Things like;

Pacing issues - the story just jumps around in a jarring way and is all written like a summary and not a full story, things happen WAY too quickly with no explanation or build-up.

Grammar & punctuation - wall of text, no full-stops or capital letters (I mean it doesn't need to be perfect but please use the basics we all learned at like 5 years old), or even too many paragraphs where it doesn't make sense to have one.

Bad spelling - not the occasional typo (we all have those) but just horribly misspelt words in every sentence (how do you even manage that with autocrect and flagging on whatever you're writing on), and text speak when there is no text messaging involved i.e 'they were going 2 the shops'.

Childish writing - I know some fic authors are young (I've been there) but some of the descriptions I just can't deal with, it's like it was written and then never read over again.

I'm not really a big fan of the whole sean having a big criticism of people that didn't want to play the games thing just because, first of all, it's not all about people seeking instant gratification and how thats ruined teens nowadays, sometimes that format of watching while a bunch of people are trying to play a game in a live chat for hours just isn't for everyone. Im completely fine with waiting for things and having large gaps in between content, I mean I probably would have been super satisfied with the week's worth of content slowly releasing that was planned. I didn't like the format of the games on the stream because it felt convoluted and annoying. It wasn't so much of a sense of us going into the chat and theorising and stuff because sometimes you just can't keep up with the conversation and sometimes you don't want to be theorising because you know you sound like an idiot to people who are a lot better versed on the topic. Some people, including myself, just really don't like the whole interactive stream game format and prefer to see a narrative piece of content with separate gaps that make it feel more tense as opposed to making it feel more tedious.

I don't know, something about being told that it's disappointing that a few hundred of us want to wait 4 hours to watch a bunch of people play tic-tac-toe and that we're just seeking instant gratification and how this generation has ruined content creation just kind of doesn't sit right with me. I don't think bringing in the fact that Netflix releases a bunch of stuff all-in-one as opposed to weekly or monthly and that people now are a little more impatient, which kind of ruins content creation, is a good idea to compare to waiting for hours to watch a bunch of people play hangman twice when you have shit to do and you dropped a bunch of work to watch this stream. I don't think that's something you can say about your audience without sounding patronising and it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, like im being told off for not wanting to wait when waiting is all we've done for years???

This disliking of the iris game isnt anything about teens nowadays and attention span ruining narrative content creation, it isnt that deep like jesus christ, not even close. Its just about the fact that some people arent a fan of the interractive game format, not to mention it was barely working in the first place. Idk, am i the only one that feels like this? I feel patronised or like i should feel guilty for tuning in and out throughout the stream because i didnt even know how to participate in the game

Re your recent post and buck’s s6 arc: the natalia of it all aside (bc I completely agree the way they developed this sucked in relation to the whole season arc) the reality is that buck’s happiness arc was very unconcluded this season. I would even say its so unconcluded that I would be surprised if they dont circle back (which i hate because they had time to conclude it this season and just… didnt in favour of natalia. And its such a long arc they should have ended it this season). At least a conversation with hen or bobby, the two other characters most involved in the arc. Like they cant just give us the lev/bobby parallel and do nothing with it, have the two of them circle back to the feeling at ease talk, have them talk about bobby being dead in the coma dream vs what happened at the crash. And maybe he figured out the at ease part and was able to save everyone at the crash because of it, but “key to happiness”? Didn’t get that. Anyways my hope is that we get to circle back to it at some point in s7. Writers have a lot of time to reflect on what people were upset about (not that theyre spending the strike thinking about the show but Im sure they read the reviews) and the main thing seems to be anything related to buck’s s6 arc so Im optimistic we will see some conclusion or re hash of the themes in the new season (and obviously is cool if you dont feel the same, just my 2 cents)

^^^ i don't think i'd be complaining as much if they made romance a big factor of buck's personal arc since the beginning of the season rather than suddenly pushing for it in the last couple of episodes and then concluding his arc on that note. i do feel like they'll circle back to it in s7, but i REALLY don't want buck to get the focus again—give it to literally any other character i beg sdjdksd

I've started reading this Outlander preview and so far it's fun... it did literally have the "let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding" trope thing lmao but what I'm expecting is something similarly dramatic / over the top as the TV series yknow Drama but Fun !!!!!
