DAY 64 of Love Is.. On Tour
Tumblr media
For your first December concert in Love Is... On Tour, you prepare a themed costume and performances for your fans. But a surprise song became the highlight tonight.
@.JUN0BABY: can someone tell me what's going on tonight??!?
@.t4asteme: WTF WDYM YN GAVE A LAP DANCE ON STAGE TONIGHT
[email protected]: she just sat on santa's lap
@.pov.yn: siri play that should be me by justin bieber
@.3435outro: as someone who's bi, idk if i'm jealous of yoongi or yn
@.FredInTheDrums: lol santa won tonight [insert picture from the stage]
@.0nlyangelz: her bassist is so hot i can't blame her 🥵
@.loveisviscious: lol how can they do shit like this
[email protected]: ikr?! they are prolly really good friends
[email protected]: we <3 that yn-yoongi friendship
But how did the concert even led to these tweets?
Tumblr media
"Okay, band, gather in."
Before the band could go on their ride back to the hotel, Paul, the tour's wardrobe supervisor, called them to the wardrobe department's area. Exhausted from just performing, Yoongi slumped on the blue couch next to Noah, who was probably the only one still having the energy from the rest of the band.
"What's up?" Akio, the band's keyboardist, asked since she had been craving to go back to her bed.
Paul clapped his hands, "Okay, so you know that days from now is December. And we only have four concert dates left before the holiday break, right?"
The band members nod in answer.
"Good. So, each concert date will have different Christmas themes for these last dates. The first one will be Santa's workshop. And I just need you to pick your characters through the fishbowl method again." Paul explained, reaching for a cup filled with folded papers.
Having themed events is not really new with the band. During Halloween week, you did the same thing. You had two concerts then and decided to turn them into fun costume parties for your staff and fans. Yoongi, who was never lucky with the fishbowl method, got to be the Danny Zuko to your dreamy Sandy Olsson. They were only a week old on the tour at that time and the couple-costume made some rumors that eventually died down after you told the backstory during the same concert.
"Do you want to look at your characters or do you want it to be a surprise?" Paul asked.
Noah and Fred answered at the same time, "Surprise! Make it a surprise."
Both Yoongi and Akio just let them. Yoongi does not really care, while Akio is just dozed off on his shoulder. He tapped her knee to wake her up when Paul began making them pick a paper. After that, they handed back their secret characters to him one by one while he listed them down in his mini notepad.
"Okay, you are now free to go. You'll see your characters in the next performance. I already have your measurements anyway." Paul concluded, knowing how much the band had been dreading to rest.
The band got up and walked out of the room. On their way to their van outside, Fred and Noah were having fun teasing the youngest, Akio, like her little brothers. She groaned at their energy to wake her up. Yoongi walked behind them, busy on his phone, reading some text messages he missed during the concert. Most of them were from his friends and colleagues inviting him to work with them. But one message stopped Yoongi for a second.
From (555) 436-*22*
Hello, Yoongi. S, here. New number. Need to talk to you about something. Please call as soon as you see this.
It was a new number on his phone. But he can already recognize who sent it. Suddenly, his heartbeats were louder than his bandmates' laughs while he stared at the message in front of him. His jaw tightened when he read the text message once again. What does she want now?
"Hey, guys!"
All of a sudden, he hears your voice, greeting the band. He looked up, pushing his phone back to his pockets. You are now back in your oversized grey sweatshirt, after wearing your sparkly outfits all night.
"Did Paul already tell you about the costumes?" you asked, striking a small conversation with them.
You, yourself, are on your way to Paul to talk about your wardrobe for December performances. Costumes and themed parties are always your thing, so you try to do them at every chance you get. Cal stood next to you, busy on her phone for your schedule.
"Yeah, but we just picked some random paper. Then, asked Paul to just surprise us with our characters." Fred replies.
"Oh, that's exciting." you smiled.
You began talking about your plans for the next Christmas themes, making Noah excited as he is another big enthusiast of the holidays. Yoongi watched quietly on the sidelines. You two barely had any interaction since you cried on stage while singing POV, which was three days ago. It was too peaceful between the two of you, no arguments at all. On stage, you have interacted more with Akio or Noah. Not like he minds at all! It's just that it feels like you are avoiding him. You laughed around with everyone in the band during the show and rehearsals except him. He remembered you were being chatty with him before the rehearsals for POV days ago.
"And I got this new notebook, so like I took it as a sign to write new songs! I already have Christmas-themed ones, just need some help with producing them so I can release them before we take a break," you shared with the band, breaking Yoongi's thoughts.
The notebook! You got them. That's good to know. Yoongi did not really know if you got that souvenir notebook he left on your door as a peace offering gift since you haven't really said anything about it. He felt bad making you cry, although that was not his goal, and he didn't know what to get you since his options were limited at the time. He wanted to apologize and talk to you personally but you were always busy and he didn't know how, where, and when can he approach you.
"I know a guy for that!" Fred exclaimed, turning around. "Yoongi, you can help with YN with that, right?"
For the first time in a couple of days, you looked directly at him. It was like there was a switch. Your smile dropped and you blankly stared at him.
Caught in surprise, Yoongi looked away, "Yeah... Yeah, sure. I can help if she wants me to."
Although they won't speak about it, everyone, along with Cal and the other band members, can feel that there is some weird tension between you and Yoongi these last couple of days. There was no petty argument even though there are times that it can potentially start. Like when Yoongi accidentally knocked over your water bottle, you didn't say anything, which is unusual. Because normally, you would make a big deal out of it and Yoongi would fight back, making a bigger deal with it. But nothing, nada. You two were just robots around each other.
"It's fine, I still have other holiday songs that I can cover later these days." you smiled back to his friends. "Anyway, I won't hold you guys longer. I know that you want to rest already— Aren't we all?"
His friends laughed. You continued, "But thank you, guys. I had the best show tonight. I think the fans enjoyed Bed Chem the most."
Oh, yeah. That performance earlier where you invited Noah for the outro part of that song. It was wilder than what you did with Yoongi since behind the curtains, your silhouettes were shown taking each other clothes before getting into a suggestive pose, which you and Noah have fun doing since it was nothing but for entertainment. You are closest with him in the band since he was the only one who stayed from your past band. Plus, he is gay and everyone knows it.
Without any reason in mind, Yoongi's face felt so hot watching the scene, he had to look away.
Tumblr media
Two days passed by quickly, you and the entire crew are now in another city. You left the hotel earlier than usual since you were excited to try on the costumes Paul made.
"Oh my god. This is so cute!" you exclaimed, checking yourself out in front of the mirror.
It was a red mini dress with a heart cutout in the chest area. Its upper and lower hems are lined with white fur. Paul even sewed silver gemstones everywhere, still in the theme of your sparkly aesthetic. You also have the matching gloves that equally looked perfect.
"I'll just show you the other ones every rehearsal." your wardrobe supervisor said. "Just to keep you coming here excited."
"I am always excited coming here to see your creations," you told him, twirling in front of the mirror. "How's the band's costumes?"
Paul pulled a rack of costumes that were made for your live band. There are two sets of costumes for the elves, a brown onesie and headband for Rudolph, and a red sparkly suit, matching yours, for Santa Claus. The faux white beard was ditched as it might disturb the member's performance.
"So, who's my Santa for tonight?" you smiled.
The surprise performance you planned for later needs a Santa. So, other than your costume, you were also excited to know who got the special role. You don't really mind who it is since you get along with almost everyone—
"Yoongi."
Tumblr media
2:37 PM
You looked at the time on the upper right of your phone screen. The call time was exactly thirty-seven minutes ago. Initially, the rehearsals for the surprise performance will be practiced first since it is a new addition to the setlist. But Yoongi said he'll be late for a few minutes. So, they moved to doing a soundcheck for other songs. But it has been five songs without her bass guitarist. Where is Yoongi? He has never been this late before. You walked up to Cal, who was talking with Art.
"Should we just change San-"
"Sorry, I'm late."
As if on cue, Yoongi walked on the stage with his guitar. He looked different, you thought. Maybe because it was your first time seeing his flowy, black hair in a man bun, which you won't admit looks good on him. You rolled your eyes at thinking that. Yoongi went straight to his usual spot in the band. He was setting up his guitar when you walked up to him.
"You're almost an hour late," you told him, crossing your arms over your chest.
"I know, that's why I said sorry," he replied nonchalantly, looking down at his guitar. "I told Art that I am going to be late-"
For the thousandth time, he is avoiding looking at you again. You remembered him looking away nights ago when Fred asked Yoongi if he could help you produce your self-written songs. He was also doing the same thing for like two weeks now.
"Why can't you look at me?!"
Like a volcano that erupted unexpectedly, you cut him off. Everyone watched in silence at you and Yoongi. Your brows were furrowed as you stared at him. But instead of glaring back at you, Yoongi just replied, unbothered.
"As if you weren't avoiding me these past few days?"
You blinked, "Uh... I'm not."
Thank God liars don't really get their pants on fire when they lie in real life, because you would end up burning your legs if they do.
"Yoongi, YN, please follow me. Now." Art suddenly spoke.
He's mad,. You rarely see the older guy look serious. You looked at Cal, who simply tilted her head to Art, raising an eyebrow like she was telling you to follow him. You walked when Yoongi walked past you to where Art was going.
No one spoke as you two walked behind Art. But both you and Yoongi can feel the atmosphere feeling like you two are second graders who are about to get a lecture from your teacher. Maybe get sent to detention. Art stopped in one of the vacant dressing rooms at the arena. He opened the door for you two. he did not say anything but you and Yoongi took it as a sign that he wants you to go in first.
"Please occupy the couch— the same couch." he had to correct himself when you and Yoongi sat on a different sofa that was on each wall of the room. He sighed, kids.
Following what Art said, you and your least favorite band member sat on opposite ends of the couch. An obvious three-feet distance is between you two. Your tour manager reached for a monoblock chair, sitting before you.
"I have had enough of this whole eye contact thing, okay? We have to solve this here and now. It's wasting everyone's time." Art spoke sternly like he was a dad for both you and Yoongi. "Who can tell me what's the problem?"
"He won't give me any eye contact when he talks to me," you said, trying not to sound too bratty or childish.
Yoongi crossed his arms, "Two weeks ago, she was telling me not to look at her and now, she's asking why I'm not looking. I'm just doing what she wants me to do."
Art nods, then looks at you.
"He was staring too hard that day, it was uncomfortable. And I didn't mean for him not to look at me at normal conversations on the daily." you defended.
"We never had any normal conversations." your bassist mumbled lowly, making you roll your eyes.
Art intervened before another fight ensued, "So, what do you want now, YN?"
"I... I just want him to look at me when we're talking..." your volume gets lower when you realise how that statement felt a little needy.
It was like you heard Yoongi put on a smug smirk (if that was even possible), and you turned your head to him just to confirm that yes, he had that stupid smirk on his lips.
"We never see each other eye to eye. Why are you so bothered about it?" he asked.
Before you could pause and ask yourself the same question, you replied, "Uhm, eye contact is part of having a proper human conversation. I mean, it just feels like I am being ignored when I can't see the eyes of the person I'm talking with."
What the hell even is that answer? You mentally slapped your forehead.
"Yeah, you would know something about ignoring someone, right?" Yoongi scoffed.
You looked at Yoongi, who is now looking back at you. Art is starting to feel that this is something deeper than the eye contact thing.
"Should I leave you two alone?" he asked, more careful this time.
"Yes."
Yoongi was the first to answer, being firm with it. You were taken aback for a second by how quick he was but nodded when Art turned to you to get your answer.
"Fine, I'll give you five minutes. Then, everything should be good and we'll go back to rehearsals." Art stood up.
Yoongi waited for him to close the door before turning to you. He wasted no time.
"I'm sorry."
Confused, you squinted, "For... what?"
That was not what you expected you hear from him when he agreed to talk with you alone here. You thought he would just keep on implying that you were the issue and confusing.
Yoongi sighed, "I'm sorry for saying what I said when we were in rehearsals for POV. It was not my intention to make you cry while performing it."
"Oh..." you gulped. That was not his fault. "It's a decision I made, I just got carried away, that's all."
You know that there is something more to that, but you hate to sit and drown yourself alone with your feelings. So, you won't do that today.
"Yeah, I know. But I feel like I pushed you into it. That's why you were ignoring me. Right?" Yoongi added. "I know that everything is probably still—"
"You know what? It's fine, it's okay. I appreciate your apology. But really, it's not fully on you. Let's just move forward from this." you cut him off before he can say more things.
He looked at you for a moment, like he was studying you. You hate it. That is what you mean when you say you don't like him looking at you. It was like he could see right through your lies. Like some magician.
"Please stop staring," you whispered, feeling a little small. "Don't stare like you are reading me like a book."
His stare softened when you said that. Nodding, he looks away.
You quickly spoke, "But you can look at me! Just... don't stare too hard. I'm not that kind of diva."
He chuckled, "Okay."
"Okay." you sighed. There are things that are still not discussed but you can probably talk about it next time or whatever. As you felt the awkward silence filling in the room, you asked. "Are we back to normal?"
"Yeah."
Tumblr media
By normal, it means professional colleagues who probably still have a very tiny animosity due to their differences. Because normal, to you and Yoongi, is not being friends. You are not friends, just two people who need each other for your jobs. But now, you are about to sit on your bass guitarist's lap for a performance later.
"Are you comfortable with this?" you asked him after letting him know that he would be involved as Santa tonight.
"You're just gonna sit on my lap?" he asked with a blank expression.
"Yeah," you replied shortly.
It was supposed to be something freakier than that but considering the unexpected changes earlier in your tour, you changed whatever that is into a simple sit on Santa's lap.
"Okay."
Everyone can feel the tension lifting from you and Yoongi the moment you two returned with Art. You were communicating at each other better and they could see it especially when you began rehearsing for Santa Baby.
The dancers and other band members were teasing and laughing when you two began with your bit on Santa's throne. Yoongi was quiet, but smiling at some parts. You, on the other hand, were playing along, loving the energy with your crew. You were back in your playful persona while dancing around Santa, teasing him, just to make others entertained.
You were enjoying the song, Yoongi understands. But you cannot stop unconsciously wiggling on his open lap and you were getting dangerously close to him, while he is wearing his grey sweatpants. He just have to do something.
"Santa baby— oh."
You gasped at Yoongi's sudden pull down on your waist, making you stay in the same spot on his lap. You looked at him, instantly recognizing the slight tint of blush on his cheeks.
"Just stay here," he whispered with his voice lower than usual.
"Oh, okay... sorry." you pressed your lips together before looking away to smile at something else.
"Just don't move around too much." he added before removing his hold on your.
You nodded, "Noted."
"Good." He whispered under his breath.
Tumblr media
"Of course, we won't let this night end without a surprise gift for you!"
The fans screamed as you announced that. You have been performing for almost an hour now. four outfit changes later, you are now in a sparkly, red cloak with faux fur on its hem, hiding your themed outfit underneath. Your surprise holiday performance is conveniently placed in the final performance of the night.
"Hit it!"
As a signal, you posed, raising your index finger and putting your candy cane before you. The local barbershop quartet that you hired for your four December shows began singing.
"Ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom..."
Once the instrumental of the classic, sultry Christmas song began, Yoongi watched you turn around, instantly meeting his eyes. Unlike before, the director are now aware of your actions since you promised to follow what was rehearsed.
"Ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom…"
In every ba-boom, you step closer to Yoongi with your candy cane. The corners of your lips are curved up slightly. Your eyes say nothing but mischief that Yoongi can only hope that you will not do anything that can make him trend online. Like when you did your favorite freaky position before him.
"Santa, baby. Slip a Sable under the tree for me..."
The fans cheered when your soft voice began singing. You are an angel with the spotlight serving as a bright halo behind you, Yoongi thought. Whenever you sing to him during these live shows, Yoongi sometimes finds himself getting transported to another space. Maybe it's because of the light... the songs... the atmosphere... or the way you nod your head in every word you sing like you mean it. It's hypnotizing.
"I've been an awful good girl..."
By that line, you are already next to him, leaning your back to his side like you are in distress. You continued singing next to him, while a famous Santa Claus throne was being put up on the farther heart-shaped centerstage.
"Santa, baby, a '54 convertible too, light blue. I'll wait up for you, dear..."
Yoongi bobbed his head along with you while playing his guitar, seemingly enjoying the song.
"Think of all the fun I've missed, Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed..."
You began walking around the band and all over the stage, singing to your fans who joyfully sang along with you.
"Next year, I could be just as good. If you check off my Christmas list..."
You took the time to sing and bond with them, giggling at the funny signs they brought with them.
"Santa, honey, So hurry down the chimney tonight..."
While moving to the song's fourth verse, you walked back to Yoongi. The fans screamed when you playfully teased him with your candy cane, before pulling yourself closer to him. You clung to his arm and you two walked down to the center stage.
"Come and trim my Christmas tree, With some decorations bought at Tiffany's..."
While singing, you pushed Yoongi to sit on the throne. He acted like he would stand up but you pushed him again, placing your candy cane on his lap. Finally, you dramatically remove your cloak, revealing your shimmering your mini-dress.
"I really do believe in you, Let's see if you believe in me..."
You danced around the throne, leaning over it before finding your way back to Santa. Yoongi mentally prepares himself, and even adjusts his pants.
"Santa, baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring..."
As soon as you found your place on his lap, your audience went crazy. You continued singing, facing Yoongi, your Santa for tonight. You pointed to your empty ring finger. Yoongi was just vibing along to your singing, swaying his head along.
"Santa, baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight..."
But you were so into the song that you forgot what Yoongi told you earlier. You kept wiggling on his lap once again, singing along with your fans. Screams erupted when Yoongi held your waist. You felt his hand firmly holding you down, making sure that you would sit still. Although taken aback for a second, you smiled and felt blood rushing through your cheeks.
"Waiting... Hurry, tonight... Hurry down the chimney tonight."
When you sang those last lines, you acted like whispering it close to Yoongi's ear. leaning a little closer to him. Yoongi simply raised an eyebrow, an action enough to get loud reactions.
The lights slowly dimmed down with you still sitting on his lap. Fans cheered for the last time, knowing that it was the last song. But suddenly, a familiar tune plays in the whole arena.
"You didn't think that was all, right?"

I have recently encountered this post here suggesting a quite interesting story idea for a Zuko x firenbender!reader fic. I initially tried to contact the owner of the post via pm but I haven’t received any reply yet and I am kind of worried someone else will make a move if I wait any longer.
I am so hyped to write this but I need to ask the general audience some questions. Maybe while we work this out, the owner of the post will see us and help me clarify this stuff as well ^.^
I personally find that I write OCs much better than the reader themselves, the freedom of an OC allows me to dive into the different dimensions of the character much more! But if the main hype is for firebender!reader, then I won’t object of course (:
PS: to get an idea about what my writing is like, you can check out the first chapter of Tame the Dragon (for x reader) or you can check out this stand-alone piece here (for x oc) or the first chapter of this little Valtor x OC series (tho the second chapter captures my OC writing better).
[At this point I realised I can only add one poll dammit]
Second Question: Do you want smut or not?
This is a complicated one since the characters in ATLA are all minors. The reader/oc is going to be the same age as Zuko (16) and I personally did a lot more than making out at that age [for the record, my partners have all been my age as well during that time, and we gave a clear yes each time so my experiences were healthy and based on mutual consent]. So I wouldn't mind including more than kissing from time to time but I can totally understand if the majority would be uncomfortable with characters being 16 and going into +18 territory.
I think that is all I want to ask for now, I cannot wait to start working on this fic!
I am tagging everyone from the original post who wanted to be tagged in case someone started working on the suggested idea, if you don't want to be tagged in the future please kindly let me now via comment or pm!

Zuko x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 1170 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Taking Zuko and Iroh in when they’re made fugitives
Part 2
——————————————————————————————————
It wasn’t everyday that you came across two strangers in the woods while on your daily walk, but today wasn’t just a normal day. Apparently, you were just in the right place at the right time.
“What are you two doing out here?” you called, ducking out from behind a tree with a big grin on your face.
Your father had always said you were too friendly, but in times like this, being friendly was the only thing that you had. After all, it wasn’t like your father was around anyway.
Strangers were just friends you’d yet to meet, and you had to believe that, now more than ever.
“What? Nothing. We’re no one, we’re not doing anything” the younger of the two rambled, looking as if he’d seen some kind of monster at your arrival.
You had startled him, but you didn’t care.
“I didn’t accuse you of anything. I just asked you a question” you assured, holding your hands up in defense. You didn’t do anything wrong, at least as far as you were concerned.
Luckily, before he could panic that much more, the older gentleman smiled. “We’re travelers, just passing through” he informed, doing his best to let you know you hadn’t offended them.
After all, they didn’t have much room to be rude to anyone while running from certain death or imprisonment. Zuko had yet to learn that, apparently.
“I see. Well, you seem like nice people. How about I make you some hot dinner and get you out of this heat for a while?” you offered, not wanting to leave them in the woods like this.
As best you could tell, they were probably refugees running from the fire nation and you didn’t want to leave them here alone.
“No, we’re fine” the first spoke again, refusing you in a way that you couldn't say surprised you. You had only been talking to him for a few moments but you already could tell he wasn’t super friendly.
Not that you could blame him.
People were always rather guarded, especially in this war torn world. At his age, he had probably been raised with that distrust, just like you had.
“Are you sure? I have all sorts of tea and as much roast duck as you could ever want” you hummed, dangling the offer of a warm dinner in front of them like bait.
You had to do something to get them out of here and something told you that they hadn’t had a hot meal in quite some time.
“That sounds excellent, thank you” Again, the older of them smiled.
“Wonderful. Now, what are your names?”
~
“That is quite the scar? What happened?” you wondered, turning your attention to Lee. Maybe it wasn’t the sort of thing you should have asked right away, but you couldn’t help yourself.
It was just something you had to ask, before the not knowing drove you crazy.
“None of your business”
Feeding them had done nothing to ease the strain that Lee felt within himself, obviously. He had something going on, something that you just couldn’t ignore.
“That’s fair I guess, but could you please tell me something? What are you running from?” you wondered, knowing it could be a number of things.
Personally, you were running from the very obvious murder and imprisonment that had faced your people at the hands of the fire nation...but something told you it wasn’t so simple with these two.
There were a thousand stories behind their eyes.
You just wished they would share something about themselves with you.
“It isn’t what we’re running from, so much as what we’re going toward, young one” Mushi started, joining you now with a big bowl of duck and that same grin you’d grown to enjoy.
That was one way to look at it.
“I’m sure it’ll be much better where you’re headed, away from the fire nation I’d hope” you shrugged, wishing you were at a luxury to do the same.
Unfortunately though, you were likely never going to get out of this town. Not that there was anywhere to go that you would actually be safe.
“There is nowhere away from the fire nation” Lee bellowed now, shocking you with his sudden outburst. He hadn’t said more than a few words here and there for the past few hours, but he was being rather vocal now.
It was kind of refreshing.
...And depressing.
“I don’t think that’s true. There was a time before the war, and there will be a time after” you decided, reaching out to take Mushi’s hand casually.
“You believe that, don’t you?” you asked him, knowing that if anyone was going to have your back on this, it was him. Lee wasn’t all that enthusiastic about anything, so he probably thought the world was doomed.
All he did was nod.
It had been quite some time since Iroh had seen a young person with so much optimism within them and it warmed his heart to see it. You had such a refreshing way of thinking.
If only Zuko could learn something from you.
“Now, where are you two headed when the sun comes up?” you wondered, knowing that everyone was headed somewhere. If there was one thing you’d learned from living in such a travel port, it was that everyone was always coming or going.
You were the only thing that ever seemed to stay the same.
“No idea. What about you? Any travel plans?” Mushi asked, making small talk to fill in the space. Small talk that would continue until much later in that evening when the older man turned in for the night.
You enjoyed the time that you’d spent with him, but now that it was just you and Lee, you found yourself glad for the privacy.
Maybe now you could understand why he was the way he was.
“It never used to be this quiet” you started, sitting down beside him on the porch. He had excused himself during dinner to be alone, but now that there was no one else to occupy your attention, it was his turn.
Lee said nothing in regards to you, but you didn’t let it bother you. If he didn’t want to talk to you, you weren’t going to make him.
...But, nothing stopped you from talking.
“Until recently, this was a fire nation base. I grew up surrounded by soldiers, and you know something?” you hummed, your voice casual, though Zuko should have known there was more beneath it.
You wore your emotions on your sleeve, and even Zuko could pick up on the way you were feeling. There was something serious coming, but he wasn’t sure what it was.
Luckily, he didn’t have to wait long.
“What?”
Zuko decided to speak finally, shocking you that he would address you directly. Not that you let it distract you too much from what you’d noticed in the time since you’d picked them up.
“You carry yourself like a firebender”

Zuko’s Story
Summary: Y/n is a fan of tea, but she's an even bigger fan of the cute boy who sells it at the Jasmine Dragon. Prompts: 1. “I think I’m falling in love with you, and it scares me.” 4. “I’ve always been in love with you, since the beginning.” 11. “You look beautiful.” 23. "I really like having you around." Fandom: ATLA Pairing: Zuko x reader Warnings: none A/N: This is for @fromthewatertribe‘s 1k event! This was an idea I had before but saw your prompts and knew it would fit perfectly!
I slowly sipped on my tea, eyeing the cute server. I had been gawking at him for who knows how long, but I knew he wouldn't notice. He never noticed.
I knew his name was Lee by hearing it around the shop. I had been coming every single day for the past three weeks during my little brother Cam's bending lessons. I wasn't a bender, but he was, and I was determined for him to learn. Ever since our father had been taken away for bending when the fire nation raided our village, I knew he had to learn. I ran away with him the day I learned he could bend, refusing to let them take him too. As a result, we ended up as refugees in the last safe place there was, Ba Sing Se. And, even though money was so unbearably tight, I insisted that he go to regular lessons to learn how to bend. I was not going to let his talent be wasted.
"Would you like more tea?" I was startled out of my thoughts my a low voice beside me. I looked up quickly and had to fight back a blush. Of course it was Lee.
"No thanks, handsome," I blatantly flirted with him like usual and pressed a coin into his palm. He blinked a couple times before closing his hand around the coin. I got up and left him at the table, exiting the shop. It was about time I picked up Cam anyways.
I began to walk in the general direction of Cam's lessons. I didn't make it far, though. After a few minutes of walking, I was roughly pulled into an alley. I tried to scream, but a hand muffled my attempts. I twisted and thrashed, but my assailant had caught me well off guard so there was not much I could do to free myself. So, I stopped trying to free myself. I decided to wait until I saw an opening and take it. I had a whole plan in motion but it was shattered when I saw who had grabbed me.
"Lee?" I mumbled through his hand. I scrunched my eyebrows together and relaxed in his hold. It was only then that I processed how close we were. He had my wrists clasped behind my back, the rest of his arm pressing his body to mine. He was half a head taller then me, so he was looming over me.
"How to you know my name?" He rasped angrily. He lowered his hand from my mouth, which I appreciated, but when he brought it back he was holding a knife. I guess I preferred being muffled. He held the blade to my throat as a threat.
Well, I guess he finally noticed my staring.
"I heard it around the shop," I answered truthfully. To be honest, I was scared out of my mind. But, I was also a little bit turned on. This guy was really hot and the tough guy act sure wasn't helping my heartbeat. He was a lot cuter up close, I thought, then cursed at myself. That's what I was thinking about when I had a knife to my throat? However, for some reason, I didn't feel like he would hurt me. Be it the result of my crush or intuition, I just couldn't bring myself to be scared.
"Why do you stare at me all the time? What do you know? Do you know who I am?" He paused for a millisecond. "Answer me!" He shouted.
I opened and closed my mouth, I was sure I looked like a koi. "I, uh, don't know how to answer that," I replied carefully. "But I have no idea who you are or anything else pertaining to you for that matter."
"Then why are you always in the shop? And why do you always stare at me?" He asked the same question again and I knew I would have to give him a response. He wasn't going to let this one go.
"I like tea?" I said meekly. He gave me a hard stare in response. I sighed in defeat and slumped a little bit. I broke eye contact and looked off to the side to make sure no one was coming. It would be hard for Lee to explain his way out of that one. "Can you let me go at least?" I finally sighed. "I am not going to hurt you, you are the one with the knife."
Lee frowned but nodded and let me go. I shook out my arms, slightly numb from the awkward angle, and sighed in relief.
"Now tell me," Lee began, raising his knife to my throat again. "What business do you have with me?"
I rolled my eyes and pushed the knife away, no longer really scared. If Lee was a bad guy, he never would have let me go. "None? Listen if you want the truth, here it is. I think you're cute so I like going to the shop and watching you work. Nothing malicious."
"Oh," he said softly, lowering his knife.
"I am really sorry for staring at you all the time, I'll stop coming if that's what you want-well of course it's what you want of course you don't want some freak staring-"
"No." Thankfully, Lee cut off my rambling. "I, uh, well... I don't mind, well it's not that I don't mind but I really like having you around the shop."
"Oh," I breathed, a flush rising to my cheeks.
"Yeah," he muttered quietly and looked away. He reached up and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and quickly added, "You bring the tea shop a lot of business!"
"Oh," I said again, this time less excited. "Yeah I guess so," I muttered dejectedly.
"Well that's not it," Lee quickly followed up. "I mean I like your presence in the tea shop, you're really nice and tip well and ugh that's not what I mean I am just going to stop talking."
"I think that would be for the best," I chuckled. Then I looked at him again. He was so unbearably cute and I was sure I would never get another opportunity like this again, so I decided to go for it. "Look, I think you're really cute. Want to go out sometime?"
"Uh, I just held a knife to your throat," he responded dumbly. I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, now. Date?"
"He would love to!" A voice shouted from the opening of the alley. The old man who ran the tea shop, Iroh, walked towards us.
"Uncle!" Lee called indignantly. "Why are you here?"
"I was worried when you left so abruptly and good thing I came because you almost would have messed up this date with this lovely girl," Iroh shot me a wink.
"How long were you there?" Lee asked, a flush of embarrassment rising to his cheeks.
"Long enough," he quickly responded. "How about tonight at sundown in front of the shop," Iroh asked me.
"Sure," I nodded. "He's gotta make up for this whole endeavor somehow," I smirked and shot Lee a look. With that, I waved goodbye to the two guys and headed off to pick up Cam. This wasn't such a bad day afterall.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Okay Cam, I want you right in bed at sundown, you hear me? No waiting up for me."
"Why, you planning to be out late with your boyfriend?" Cam shot back all too happily.
"No, because you have your lesson at sunrise," I said quickly, making sure I had everything I needed. Would Lee pay? I wasn't sure but I brought my purse just in case. "I worked hard to get us to the middle ring so that you could have a proper teacher and I will not have you being late!"
I felt Cam roll his eyes and sigh at me. "Yes, mom," he groaned. "At least tell me his name."
I turned to Cam, pursing my lips. I had tried to keep this whole date a secret from him, but having a nosy 12 year old in the house wasn't conducive to secrets. He had found out shortly after I picked him up, asking why I was late and accusing me of being out with a boy. When I flushed and stammered in response, he jumped on the opportunity. That was his go to accusation, it just so happened that this time he was right. Not in the way he thought, of course, but partially I suppose. I mean I did ask Lee out on a date.
I thought for a moment, then figured Cam would find out at some point who it was, especially if we went on more dates. I tried not to get my hopes up at the thought.
"It's Lee."
Cam gasped dramatically. "From the tea shop?"
"Yes from the tea shop," I huffed and spun on my heel. I walked over to a mirror hanging on the wall and checked my makeup one more time. I needed to leave soon if I was going to make it on time.
"To imagine, a love blooming from malicious stalkering-"
"I keep thinking you cannot get more stupid and then you prove me wrong every single time," I sighed.
Cam gasped dramatically again. "Wounded, by my own sister!" He cried. "Besides, am I wrong that you stalk him? I bet what happened was he confronted you about your stalker-ering and you were all like 'I've always been in love with you, since the beginning of time-'"
"Oh hush." I turned towards the door so that he couldn't see my blush. I mean, he wasn't that wrong. Lee did confront me about the stalk- watching of him, and I did confess in a way. "I am leaving now. When will you be in bed?"
"By sundown," Cam responded in a high pitched voice, obviously mocking me.
"Okay, bye. Be good," I said as a final goodbye and left.
My walk to the Jasmine Dragon was uneventful at best. Once I got there, I saw Lee outside. He was wearing a nice suit, his hair parted in the middle and slicked to each side. I whistled as I approached.
"Nice 'do, hot stuff," I grinned. He turned to face me, and unless I was mistaken, a blush rose to his cheeks.
"You look beautiful," he blurted, then flushed a bright red that I knew I wasn't imagining.
I was caught off guard by his blatant confession, and I felt a heat creep up my neck. "Uh, thank you. You don't look to bad yourself, though I do think I like your hair all messy better."
"Oh." Zuko reached up and ruffled it, messing it all up. "Like that," he smiled.
"Like that."
"It took my uncle ten minutes to do my hair," he commented.
"Well it took you a few seconds to mess it up, now come on, let's go. I know a great restaurant that's super cheap but super good," I said and grabbed his hand, tugging him after me.
Eating was awkward if anything. Lee wasn't the biggest conversationalist, not wanting to talk about anything about himself, and the food was mediocre at best. It was cheap, though.
"Let's split the bill," I said when we were done eating. Lee opened his mouth to argue, but I stopped him. "I picked the place so it is partially my fault the food was so bad."
"I didn't know you were in the kitchen," Lee smirked.
"You don't know a lot of things about me," I grinned cheekily. At that, Lee's face darkened. He was hiding something big, I knew it. It was probably something about his past, seeing as he was so guarded about it.
"Come on," I said, breaking the tense silence. "Let's get out of here."
The waiter arrived and we paid our check. Luckily, they gave us two cups of tea to go. I took mine and Lee took his and we were on our way.
"Ugh," I groaned, sipping my tea. "This is disgusting, its so cold."
"Here," Lee reached out and took it from me. He held onto it for a second then handed it back. Miraculously, it was hot when he handed it back.
"What the..." Then it hit me. The only way he could have done that was if he was a firebender. I looked up at him in surprise, ready to make a run for it, but then I took another look at him. It wasn't like a Earth bender gave him that scar, and he was here for a reason, probably to start over. That's why he was so defensive about who he was when he questioned me earlier today. So I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He hadn't hurt me yet, and he didn't hurt me when we thought we were alone in that alley, so I doubted that he'd hurt me now.
"Thanks," I finally decided on with a smile. I let him walk me back to my place, knowing Cam was probably still awake. When we reached my door, I turned to him. "Thank you for taking me out."
"Thank you for uh, not getting mad I held a knife to your throat," he replied, shyly rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well, I don't know if I'm still over that," I said with a small smirk. "I might need another date to see if I forgive you."
Lee's eyes darkened. "I don't know if I can do this-"
"Oh come on," I sighed. "I liked spending time with you, I hope you liked spending time with me. It's not like we're going to get married, just hang out a bit more. Come on, one more date and that's it."
Lee sighed. "One more date. And that's it."
"And that's it." I agreed with finality.
After that, we started going out on dates every few days. We went to festivals together, tried out new restaurants, and even went out on picnics. It was on one of those picnics that I finally decided to confess to him. We were up on a hill under the shade of a great tree, looking out over the sprawling city. We had lapsed into silence.
"I need to tell you something-" We both said at the same time. We both flushed and turned away.
"You first," I said.
"No you." I stayed silent, staring at Lee expectantly until he sighed and caved. "Fine. I think... Well look. There's still so much you don't know about me. I've done some pretty horrible things in my past."
"I think people can change," I asserted.
Lee shook his head. "Terrible, horrible things. Things no one should ever dream of doing. But I did them. I thought that I had lost my honor and that somehow my father could restore it to me... but now... now I am not so sure." He turned to me and grabbed my hands. "Ever since I met you I've felt like I was an impostor, a fake pretending to be someone I wasn't. Now I think this is me." He sighed and closed his eyes. "What I'm trying to say it that I think I'm falling in love with you and it scares me."
I leaned up and moved to kiss him, but he pulled away. "Why?" I said, hurt in my voice.
Lee grasped both of my cheeks and pulled our foreheads together. "Listen, I have to do something before we can be together. I need to make up for my mistakes. I got a message last night inviting my uncle and I to serve tea to the King. I think it's a trap. The Avatar is in the city which means my sister is not far behind."
"Your sister... Who are you?" My voice was barely over a whisper, I was surprised it didn't get lost in the wind.
"I am Zuko, Crown Prince of the Fire Nation."
I paused, my head reeling. I knew he was a firebender but the prince? The prince of the Fire Nation? It was a lot to take in. Luckily he gave me my time and waited patiently for my next question. "And you think its a trap but you're still going to go?" I asked in bewilderment.
"Yes. I need to stop running away from my destiny. You helped me realize that I'm not bad, I can be good."
"What is your destiny?" I asked breathlessly.
"To teach the Avatar firebending."
I pulled my head away from his so that I could get a good look at him. "Then go. And don't you dare not think about coming back for me."
"I will." Lee- no, Zuko looked like he was hesitating, then he pulled me into ferocious kiss, stealing my breath away from me. When we separated,  we placed our foreheads together, gasping for air, our breaths intermingling.
"You have no idea how long I have been waiting to do that," I gasped, but smiled.
"I feel the same," Zuko smiled too. "Now come on, let's go."
With that, he walked me home and then walked right out of my life, leaving me to wonder if I would ever see him again.

‘Impromptu Parents’- Zuko x female!reader
Masterlist <3
An: HIYA! Sorry this took WAY too long, I had no motivation or time :( THANK YOU FOR THE REQUEST THOUGH!!!
Summary:
Whilst walking around the market with your husband, you stumble upon a child that’s all alone. Not having the heart to leave them there, you decide to bring them along with you until their parents are found.
Ps. (C/n) is child’s name! I decided to make the child a girl, hope that’s okay!
Warnings: kids…?

Your steps fell in sync with Zuko’s, soft noises emerging from the carpeted grounds against your shoes. The fiery shades of red from the palace walls and floors surrounded you, as you made your way to the markets outside. Being the firelord’s lonely day off for the first time in a while, you were determined to make it enjoyable and relaxing. His coarse hands were firm against yours, bodies close together despite the massive corridor you two were traversing.
“What do you think we’re having for lunch?” He asked passively, thinking with his stomach.
“Mmm. Maybe fire noodles. I’ve been craving those for forever.”
“They don’t serve that here though?‘
“Who said we’re eating at the palace today?”
“Outside?” he said, shocked.
“YES!? Your one day off I’m not spending it in the same place you work?”
“That’s… actually a fair point. Fire noodles it is.”
“Good.”
“Good.” he repeated, mocking you slightly.
You pushed him slightly to the side, making him laugh before pushing you too, you pushed him again, a little harder so he’d lose his balance. He yelped as he fell, before laughing even harder, “You little,”
“Gotta split!” You sprinted to the nearby doors.
Zuko was closer than you thought, immediately tackling you to the ground, pinning you under him. You both erupted into laughter, bodies tangled and positions rather explicit. The guards tried not to look, seemingly undisturbed, but actually struggling not to break character. Unfortunately for you two, you hadn’t actually seen the dozens of men standing at the doorway. Zuko leaned down and pecked your lips, still laughing.
“Sir.” One of them choked out.
You immediately snapped back to reality, teleporting to your feet, much like Zuko.
“Uh, yeah. We’ll be um, leaving now.” he stood regally, ignoring the heat devouring his face.
They moved apart, swords clanging as they separated, allowing you and your husband to pass. As you passed them, tense and embarrassed, you side eyed Zuko, who was stiff and red in the face.
“We’re idiots.”
“Who’s we? Just you!” you replied.
“Me?” he exclaimed, “I’ll have you know I’m pretty smart.”
“Mm.”  You pretended to think, “I don’t know about smart, but definitely pretty”
He looked away from you rapidly, ear tinting pink, bashfulness making you laugh. You two happily walked to the markets nearby, brushing fingers against the plants. Zuko seemed more relaxed, shoulders light, posture straight and happy, and definitely laughing more often. It was obvious you were the reason - the whole palace knew! He would visibly relax seeing you, and passively smile at the mention of your name, truly, it made the staff realise how different he was from his father.
Before you knew it, you were in the middle of a bunch of vendors, most did not even recognize you and Zuko, which was a relief. You started by heading to the fruit stalls, purchasing a variety of delicious goods, and then to the souvenir stall, securing a few bits and bobs to make the palace seem a little more homely. You two were making conversation when you were abruptly cut off.
“Get it if you want it, it’s ni-” Zuko was startled when a small figure pushed past him.
The child tugged on your pants/skirt (you choose), sniffling.
“Ma’am,”
You looked to the source, a young girl, maybe 6 or 7, stood, eyes wide and fingers shaky.
“I can’t find my mommy,” you bent down to her level, pushing back the hair from her face.
“Where did you see her last, sweetheart?”
She shrugged, “She was in the shops, I don’t know which.” a tear slipped from her eyes, and she quickly tried to wipe it.
“Well, do you wanna come with us, to look for your mom?”
“Yes please,” she opened her arms wide, for you to pick her up, and that you did.
She fit snug into your arms, head tiredly resting on your shoulder.
“What’s your name sweetie?”
“C/n. And you?”
“I’m Y/n, and this is my husband, Zuko.”
C/n leaned back from your arms, turning around to see Zuko, “Your name is like the firelord.” she deadpanned.
“Yeah, it is,”
You struggled not to laugh, your husband trying to conceal his identity.
“Let’s start over there, shall we?” you pointed at a small corner shop.
“Okay,” she said quietly.
As you walked, you tried to make small talk, the child becoming more comfortable in your arms.
“So, you know the firelord?”
“Yeah. He’s like the principal of the school, but like for the whole entire country!” she giggled, making a large gesture with her hands.
“That’s a funny way of putting it,” Zuko said, chuckling.
“Do you think he’s a nice guy?”
You were secretly hoping she’d say no, that would be hilarious.
Instead, she shrugged, “I haven’t met him. My mommy says he’s just a baby though. But I think he’s really old!” Zuko gasped, eyes widened, and mouth contorted into a smile.
“A baby huh? How old do you think he is?”
“Maybe 34.” she giggled at your wide smile, hiding her face in your tunic.
“He’s much younger than 34 I’ll have you know.” the guy in question huffed.
The decor sung once you walked in as the door triggered it. There was no one in the shop other than you guys, so you opted to move on. And this pattern repeated, the mother and father were nowhere to be found. At this point the sun began to set.
C/n was beginning to get sleepy, a yawn exiting her mouth.
“Do you have any fire chips?” she asked, eyes sparkling.
“No um, are you hungry?” she nodded.
“I say we get something to eat, and then see what to do.” Zuko’s stomach growled.
“Agreed.”
“Fire noodles?”
“Duh!”
The lights of the tacky noodle place illuminated your face, a gentle smile gracing your partner’s face as he interlocked your free hand with his. Shortly after entering, you sat down at a booth, and ordered some food - making sure to include something non spicy for C/n.
“So what’re we gonna do?” he asked, looking at the kid, who was fiddling with the hem of her dress.
“I say, we take her home with us, and tomorrow morning we can call the town to do a morning announcement thing, and ask about who’s kid this is.”
“Sounds good, I guess.”
“Is that okay with you, C/n?” You asked her.
“Yes. Thank you ma’am and sir.”
“You can just call us Y/n and Zuko, you know?”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, of course!”
“Okay, Y/n,” she giggled, and you grinned.
The food arrived not too long after, and you all dug in. C/n stuffed her face with the food, finishing it in what could probably be record time, then wiping her face with the napkin. You looked at her, a furrow in your brows.
“Hon, were you that hungry?”
“A little.” she said, sheepishly.
“You should’ve mentioned that,” Zuko said, calling over the waiter.
You ordered another bowl of the ramen for her, before continuing your meal. A few minutes later, you slurped the last noodle, and asked for the check. It was rather cheap, 5 gold coins. Your husband smiled, pulling the receipt to himself and grabbing his wallet.
“What a gentleman.” you sighed, looking at him dreamily, a mocking undertone. I mean, it’s almost like he’s the firelord or something.
He laughed, placing that and a few more into the small book, before shutting it.
“Hey wait! Zuko open it!” he furrowed his brows, C/n holding a fist up in his direction.
He did as she asked, and she dropped a coin into the check, grinning at her actions.
“My mommy always says tip.”
“We did C/n, you should keep your money to buy yourself something nice.”
She shook her head, sinking back into her chair. He shrugged, closing the check and passing it to the waiter, along with saying thank you of course. You gathered your belongings and left the establishment, the little girl choosing to hold your hand.
“The way home is long, will you be able to walk all that way?”
“Yes! I’m a big girl!” she puffed her chest.
“If you say so,” he smiled.
THough, the walk home was long. You had strayed far from the palace, although you didn’t mind. Walking with Zuko was always peaceful. The fire lit lanterns casted a orangey-yellow hue on the world, streets quiet and barren as people retired to their homes for the night. To add a cherry on top to the perfect night, your lover took you to a fountain, lights illuminating the waters. You sat on the edge of the water structure, hands interlocked with Zuko’s, while C/n watched the pretty reflections in the water, occasionally dipping her hand in for a splash. You looked at her, and once sure she was occupied, you leaned in to kiss your husband. It was sweet and short, an ‘i missed you’ type of kiss - and he understood that perfectly. He rested his forehead against yours, licking his lips sweetly, a grin lighting his face. Your hand pushed a stray lock of ravne hair from his face - a futile attempt as it fell back onto his eyes.
“You make a pretty good dad,”
“You think?”
Just as you were leaning in again, you heard footsteps. Immediately separating, you got up and checked on C/n, who was ever so occupied, then your eyes flashed to the source. An exhausted woman, much older than you, walked, another fellow by her side, with equally tired eyes. Looking over at the child, you saw a switch flipped in your head. Their eyes were similar, and her nose was practically a copy of the dad’s.
“Sweetie,” you pat her shoulder, “Do you know these guys?”
She turned her head, and her eyes widened, tears welling up, “THAT'S MY MOMMY!”
The older couple turned to you guys, before noticing the child, “C/N!” They ran up to her. She flew into her mom’s arms, sobbing and clutching her tightly. The lady tried not to cry, soothing her child as best as she could. A contrast to the dad, who had completely broken down, resting his head on his daughter’s shoulder as he cried. You and Zuko stood awkwardly, not knowing exactly what to do in this situation.
The mother couldn’t stop hugging her baby, sloppily kissing her face.
“You scared us! Where were you?!” She questioned, tears streaming endlessly down her face.
“I-I was with Zuko and Y/n at the markets!” C/n could barely say, breathes laboured.
“Zuko and Y/n… Zuko and Y/n?” The dad asked, furrowing his brows.
“Yeah his name is like the firelord.”
The couple turned to you, mouths agape. You offered a smile, Zuko awkwardly rubbing his neck, “Hi.”
They immediately set their daughter down, both bowing, and signalling for her to do the same.
“Why?”
“Honey, they’re the firelord and lady.” the mom said through gritted teeth.
C/n’s eyes widened, and she looked over at you, shock evident on her small features.
“Surprise?” you shrugged.
The little girl almost passed out, immediately going to bow.
“Oh no no! You don’t have to do that!” Zuko said, making wild motions with his hand.
“Please, you can get up,” the parents listened, going back to their feet.
“We will forever be in debt to you, your highness,”
Zuko smiled, and you replied, “Oh please, C/n was an angel today,”
The girl held her mother’s arm, staring at you two sheepishly.
“Thank you,” the dad added, before moving to leave.
They bowed once again before leaving, and you turned to do the same. You got half way down the path, when you heard, “C/N!”
And then, “Hey! Wait up!” you paused and turned, immediately getting pushed over by the little girl, Zuko just about being able to push you back up to your feet. You held her in the hug, looking at her parents who seemed very embarrassed.
“I’ll miss you…”
“I’ll miss you too, C/n.”
She stepped back, then grinned at Zuko, “I’ll miss you too.” She hugged his leg, and he picked her up for a proper hug.
She leaned back from his chest, “You should come to my house! I’ll show you all of my toys!”
“Maybe some other day,” he said, smiling.
“Yeah, it’s past Zuko’s bed time.” you pinched his cheek, and he flushed red, looking at you with wide eyes.
“Do you have a bedtime?” C/n laughed at him.
Your husband narrowed his eyes at you, tilting his head sideways quickly, worlessly telling you ‘just wait and see’.
He let her down after that, and she ran to her parents, waving goodbye on the way.
Zuko’s hand was on the small of your back as you walked home, “Bedtime? Really? That was low.”
You pouted mockingly, “Don’t worry, I’ll tuck you in.” you squished his face.
Zuko pinched your side in response, a laugh exiting you from the sudden, and very ticklish, contact.
And finally, it felt like you two spent a day together, not as rulers (or principal's) of a country, but as Zuko and Y/n. A girl who loves to mock her husband, and her husband who’s name is suspiciously like that of the firelord.

Hi!
I don’t know if you’re taking requests right now. But I was wondering if I could request a Sokka x reader? She/her. I was thinking of a modern setting, but everyone still has their bending and y/n is a fire bender. So naturally Sokka and y/n start out as enemies but grow to be best friends, until one day y/n suddenly goes missing. The gaang does everything they can to look for their friend but Sokka is the one to take her disappearance the hardest. He admits to his friends that he has feelings for y/n. They find her alive a week later (you can pick where they find her). After she’s recovered Sokka finally tells her his feelings.
Sorry if it’s a weird requests. I just thought this might be an interesting storyline.
Hi! Yes, I do take requests, I just haven't been active lately due to various issues😅
This was actually a very interesting scenario, although a bit complicating, but still very fun to write.
I decided to change a few minor details and make into a two part miniseries, but regardless, I hope you enjoy it, anon! <3
Ps: part 2 will come soon

(I unfortunately couldn't find the original artist. If you know who it belongs to, please, let me know, I'll credit them right away)
-------------------------------------------
I love her, damn it!
Part 1
Ship: Sokka x f!firebender!reader
Warnings: swearing, mentions of injuries and gun wounds, a bit of angst, but it ends well
Genre: angst-to-comfort
Fic type: scenario
-----------------------------------------
It had never meant to come to this. At least, that's what the members of Team Avatar thought when they managed to get themselves into this situation.
They had found that key information was stored at one of the heavily guarded military bases in the Fire Nation. Information that they needed to bring down the government and leader of said nation. Yet when they had successfully broken in by using their bending abilities and careful planning and managed to obtain the info, one of the previously knocked-out guards had woken up and set off the alarm.
However, that wasn't the worst of it. They had managed to bust out of the building itself but had yet to get past the borders.
"There!" Katara yelled out, pointing her finger towards a military jeep.
"Everyone get in!" Zuko yelled at the group as he turned back to use his firebending to hold back the soldiers along with (Y/n).
Both of them used their abilities to burn and block their attackers as others scrambled to get into the car, with Aang at the steering wheel.
"Get in you two!" Sokka yelled out to the two newly joined firebenders from the back of the car, shielding his face briefly with a stolen police shield when a bullet flew his way. "We have to go! NOW!"
Zuko and (Y/n) turned their attention to the others in the jeep before looking back in front of them to the defeated soldiers. The older boy then started sprinting off to the jeep while the girl stayed behind to look if they wouldn't be followed when they departed. Unfortunately for her, she could see more Fire Nation soldiers coming down the front corridor, holding either rifles or machine guns, some empty-handed which meant more firebenders.
"Start driving! I'll catch up to you!" (Y/n) yelled out to her teammates.
"Are you insane!? No!!" Sokka yelled back.
"God damn it! Listen to me for once Sokka!" the girl yelled back. "Start driving! If you don't, none of us will make it! GO!!!"
Sokka wanted to argue further but jolted forward when the jeep started working and driving away. Fortunately, he had caught himself at the edge of the doorway, his eyes turning back to the firebender he considered a former enemy and now rival.
The girl looked back and made eye contact with the sea-blue eyes of her rival. (Y/n) noticed how Sokka's brows were furrowed downwards and eyes blazed like the flames that only a few firebenders like Princess Azula could produce.
"How pretty they are," she noted to herself briefly before turning back to the soldiers in front of her, guns ready to shoot at them.
She pulled back her balled hand before thrusting it in front of her and releasing a large blast of flames at them, knocking most of the soldiers back. (Y/n) slightly rose to the toes and in a swift twirl turned the opposite direction and chased down her friends' jeep.
She didn't think about anything else, only Sokka's stretched-out hand. The girl willed her tired body to run faster after them and had already stretched out her hand in return before a sharp pain suddenly came from her calf.
Only then (Y/n)'s and Sokka's brains registered the gunshot. The boy propelled himself as much forward as he could before he would tumble out of the back completely trying to grasp her hand. But it missed, just barely, but missed regardless.
And once again, their eyes locked on each others. Both pairs widened in shock and horror as (Y/n) plummeted to the dirt path when her leg finally gave out.
The firebender could faintly hear the screams of her name from her friends over the deafening sound of her heartbeat in her ears. (Y/n) looked down at the source of her agony and saw that the bullet had indeed managed to get itself deep into her calf. And the longer the girl looked at it, the pain intensified.
She heard the clocking of guns and turned her gaze upwards to see that the soldiers had caught up to her and readied their guns. (Y/n) weakly raised her hand upwards and looked back in the direction she had been running only to see the stolen car driving further and further away.
"At least they made it," (Y/n) sighed as she thought of this.
The girl then felt her hand being seized and cuffed, as the soldiers yanked (Y/n) to her unsteady feet, making her grit her teeth together as to not release a scream of pain. She knew they would use it against her if she showed any weaknesses.
When they started to drag her into the base she had tried to escape, she glanced back down the road where her friends had taken off, not seeing the car anymore, only a black fading dot in the distance.
"At least they'll be safe," she girl thought before her view was obscured by the closing metal doors.
--------------------------------------------
"We have to turn back!" Sokka yelled at the front passengers of the car. "(Y/n)'s still out there! She could die!"
"We have to leave her, Sokka." Zuko replied tiredly, "We are too far away now. Besides, even if we did now turn around and drive back, what then? What's your plan? Busting back into the base full of heavily armed guards and firebenders and hope to magically find her?"
''YES!!" Sokka yelled, his brows further creasing downwards further by the second.
"Sokka, we won't make it," Katara reasoned as she turned to look back at her distressed brother, "we barely made it out ourselves. We can't go back. At least not now-"
"We escaped because she bought us time!" Sokka argued back, "We need to go back to her! We owe her for this!"
"Sokka, we'll get her back," Aang chimed in still driving the car, "but right now, we need to get somewhere safe so that we can clearly think of a way to rescue her."
Sokka stayed silent at this comment. Deep down he knew this, he knew more than anyone that they needed a plan to get her out and that they couldn't just bust her out with their abilities. But the urge to get her back near him, the fear that he might lose her and she would die because he wasn't fast enough, the things he hadn't yet said..
The water tribe boy slumped down the wall of the jeep and sighed dejectedly. He ran a hand through his done-up hair before hesitantly bringing it in front of him on his lap. It's the same hand that couldn't grab (Y/n) when he had the chance, and he hated that fact.
"You really love her," Toph murmured in astonishment beside him.
Sokka briefly looked at the blind girl beside him whose eyes were widened in genuine shock right at him. The boy opened his mouth to deny it, but the words got stuck in his throat, unable to come out. He then turned his gaze back at his hand in his lap and stared at it for a few seconds before murmuring back, although more to himself than to the others.
"Yeah, I do."

One shot schedule list
The Keeper of the Diamond series
Want to be tagged when I post a fanfic?
Introduction:
This is a one shot of The Keeper of the Diamond series. It contains Severus Snape x reader, Lucius Malfoy x reader, Valtor/Baltor x reader and Zuko x reader. It’s a crossover between Harry Potter, Winx Club and Avatar: The Last Airbender. I only own Y/N, Laura and Vera. The three girls are 19 years old.
This is a request from @encantadiafan12 here on Tumblr and Wattpad. Thank you for your request!
The three girls have invited their friends from the Wizarding World, the Winx Club dimension and the Avatar: The Last Airbender dimension. As the others hang out at Hogwarts, Vera cleans up the house while Y/N plays a game of UNO with Snape, Lucius, Valtor and Zuko. Will the guys be annoyed to be in each other’s presence? Or will they have fun playing the Muggle game together?
I hope you will enjoy!
PS: You can send requests!

Y/N tucks into her meal, enjoying her lunch. She just spent an hour cleaning her room and decided that she deserved a break.
Today they will have visitors from the other dimensions - the Winx Club dimension and the Avatar: The Last Airbender dimension. The Winx girls as well as Aang, Toph, Katara and Sokka will be here any minute.
However, they aren’t the only ones who will show up - so will Valtor and Zuko.
Y/N sighs. She wonders if the guys will be fighting today…
Snape and Lucius don’t seem to get along with Zuko, so she wonders if that will be the same case for Valtor. The two of them have never met before, so that will be interesting to witness.
Speaking of the two Slytherins, they will come as well, so will the Trio and their friends.
Just as she finishes her lunch, Laura and Vera enter the living room.
“Oh, hi, guys. Are you ready for our guests?” she questions.
Laura nods. Just as Vera is about to answer, she widens her eyes.
“Wait a minute, we didn’t clean the kitchen, the living room nor the bathroom!” she exclaims.
Laura is about to tell her to calm down, she however decides not to. She knows that Vera cares a lot about cleaning up - it’s almost a hobby of hers.
She can spend hours and hours of scrubbing and cleaning. She once mentioned that it’s therapeutic to her.
As Laura and Y/N look at each other, they both shrug. They decide not to comment. However, can she clean up in time?
The answer to that question is no as they hear someone knock on the front door.
“Great, they are already here!” Vera says as she sighs. She then disappears from the living room.
“Wait, is she going to clean up NOW?” Laura questions, raising an eyebrow.
Y/N sighs. “I have no idea. Come up, let’s not let them wait” she says before rising from her seat.
The two of them approach the door before opening it.
“Hey, guys!” Stella says before hugging the two girls. She immediately enters the house.
“Um, Stella… They didn’t tell us to enter yet” Bloom says, facepalming.
The others merely laugh at the Fairy of the Shining Sun’s behaviour.
“Oh, come on, Bloom. I’m sure they don’t mind” Stella says while looking around the house.
Meanwhile, Y/N and Laura try their best to hide their laughs.
Y/N then clears her throat. “Well, come in!” she says as she smiles.
As everybody enters, they all look around as well. “Hey, this place is nice!” Aang exclaims.
Momo the lemur seems to agree as he nods his head, sitting on the boy’s shoulder.
“So, where’s Appa?” Laura questions, looking curious.
The big flying bison obviously couldn’t come along as he can’t even go through the doorframe.
“Uncle Iroh is looking out for him while we are here” somebody says. It’s Zuko.
Y/N smiles. “That’s so nice of him” she says. Zuko smiles back as he nods.
Meanwhile, three wizards growl to themselves. It’s Lucius, Snape and Valtor - they don’t seem to like the Fire Prince being too close to Y/N.
Laura rolls her eyes at them. Ugh, they are always jealous. Why did they even invite them?
“Hey, why don’t we go to Hogwarts? That way, you guys can see the castle as well” she suggests as she looks at Aang and his friends. They haven’t been to the Wizarding World yet.
However, the main reason she suggested it was in hope of getting away from the wizards’ jealous aura.
Lucius sighs. “I’d rather just stay here” he mutters.
He doesn’t want to walk around that school, surrounded by teenagers. Why did they have to invite these people?
Snape rolls his eyes. “I agree…” he states.
He also doesn’t want to go there. He teaches there every day - and he hates every second of it.
Valtor nods in agreement. “I agree, too. No offence, but being around teenagers all day is extremely tiring” he says, sighing.
He still has to sleep on the couch in the Winx’s dorm… He will get his revenge on Faragonda someday.
“Well, you can’t just stay here alone. I’ll keep you company” Y/N suggests.
The three wizards smirk at that. That would be perfect.
But of course, somebody has to ruin it.
And that someone is the Fire Prince.
“I’ll stay as well, if you don’t mind” Zuko says.
Valtor, Snape and Lucius silently groan. Please say no, please say no, please say no-
“Of course we don’t mind. Right, guys?” Y/N asks as she looks at the three men.
They give a forced smile. “Of course not…” Lucius forces himself to say. He then sighs. Great, they have to be around him all day…
“Hey, where’s Vera?” Flora asks as she notices the girl’s absence.
They then hear the sound of a vacuum.
“… She’s cleaning” Laura says as she sighs.
Toph raises an eyebrow at that. “Cleaning? While you have visitors?” she questions. She wonders if that’s normal to do here.
“Well, I’m sure she will stop so she can go with you guys to Hogwarts” Y/N says just as the girl in question enters the living room with the vacuum turned on.
“Hey, Vera-“ Y/N starts but it’s not loud enough. The vacuum is too noisy.
“Vera!” Laura yells.
That caught the girl’s attention. She immediately turns off the vacuum. “Yeah?” Vera questions.
Laura sighs. “We are heading to Hogwarts. Do you want to join us?” she offers.
Vera shakes her head. “No, thanks. I just started cleaning” she explains.
The others look surprised. Is she serious?
Laura shrugs. “Well, okay, then. Let’s go” she tells the others.
Nodding, Stella uses her Ring of Solaria to teleport them outside of Hogwarts while Vera, Y/N, Snape, Lucius, Valtor and Zuko stay at the girls’ house.
Vera then turns to look at them. “I know this is strange and kind of rude, but… Would you five mind going somewhere else while I clean up here in the living room?” she asks, giving a pleading look.
Once she has started cleaning, she can’t stop until the whole place is spotless.
While the guys look at her in disbelief, Y/N nods. “Of course not. We will just stay in my room until you are done” she says as she gestures for them to follow her.
Staring at Vera in bewilderment, they shrug before following Y/N. They then enter her room.
“Well, this is my room” she says as she shyly smiles, hoping it’s not too awkward.
The four guys look around her room. They notice she seems to like green and black - her furniture is black while the curtains are green, the same as one of the walls.
Snape notices that her enchanted notebook is on her black nightstand. He smirks at that, imagining that she checks it whenever she can’t sleep.
They do often write to each other during the night.
The girl clears her throat, gaining their attention. “Well, since we have to stay in here… How about a game of UNO?” she suggests.
The four of them look rather confused. “U- what?” Valtor questions, having never heard of it before.
Y/N smiles while trying not to laugh at their reaction.
“UNO, it’s a card game” she explains as she shows them the cards.
“I’ll show you how to play” she offers.
Lucius sighs. Great, he has to play a Muggle game with them…
As Y/N explains the rules, the four guys smirk. It seems quite easy, they each believe that they will win.
The game starts off with a blue number two.
As Lucius starts, he puts down a blue number five.
Snape is up next. He looks at his cards before smirking.
Valtor raises an eyebrow as he’s the next one. What is the emo professor up to?
Snape puts down a blue skip card.
“Why you-“ Valtor threatens, looking annoyed. Sighing, he crosses his arms as he’s being skipped.
It’s then Y/N’s turn. She puts down a blue number seven.
Zuko looks at his cards. Great, no seven, no blue. He grabs a new card, another new card.
He then smirks before putting it down. Lucius has to draw two cards.
Growling, the blonde-haired man curses the Fire Prince under his breath before grabbing two new cards.
Snape puts down a blue reverse card. Lucius smiles at that.
“Thank you, my friend” he says before taking revenge on Zuko. The boy has to draw four cards.
“Oh, and I’ll change the colour to green” Lucius states as he smirks.
Zuko huffs before grabbing four new cards. Y/N puts down a green number zero.
Smirking at Snape, Valtor gets revenge by making him draw two cards. The Slytherin man glares at him before doing so.
They keep playing and playing, being very competitive which makes Y/N chuckle.
Snape and Lucius seem to help each other out, only being mean to Valtor and Zuko by either skipping them or making them draw cards.
Valtor and Zuko smirk whenever they take revenge.
In the first round, Snape wins.
“You won, Severus! Congrats!” Y/N exclaims as she kisses his cheek. He smirks proudly as the others growl, clearly jealous.
They keep playing, continuing their strategies.
When Zuko wins the fourth round, Y/N kisses his cheek as well which makes the others glare at him. The Fire Prince can’t help but be proud.
They play for another few hours before realising the time as a knock on the door can be heard.
“Hey, you guys didn’t show up for dinner, so I brought some for you. By the way, Laura and the others are staying at Hogwarts” Vera explains as she puts down five plates of spaghetti bolognese on Y/N’s desk.
They widen their eyes. “Dinner? What in Salazar’s name is the time?“ Lucius questions.
They were so focused on winning that they didn’t seem to notice how hungry they had gotten.
Vera shrugs. “It’s eight in the afternoon. You should probably eat. In the meantime, I will watch a football match. See you” she says before closing the door.
Y/N chuckles. “Well, I guess we had fun, huh? By the way, you guys may stay if you would like. We can just conjure four mattresses for you, there should be enough space” she suggests.
The four guys look at each other, giving a challenging look. They aren’t too keen on sleeping in the same room, but they shrug it off.
Staying the night means more UNO, and more UNO means more revenge.
It also means spending more time with Y/N. Perhaps a sleepover won’t be so bad after all.

Pairing: Zuko x Reader, Azula x Reader
Word Count: 700
Warnings: Blood, angst hehe
Summary: Y/N's left heartbroken, but she has no choice but to help the one who broke her heart.
Tumblr media
Y/N stood between Zuko and Mai, time seeming to slow as she waited for Zuko to give her a response to her crucial question: her or Mai?
“Y/N, I’m sorry.” Zuko’s fingers brushed against Mai’s, who had a small smile of relief on her face. “I... choose Mai.”
“Zuko...” Her voice was hushed down to barely above a whisper. The wind felt colder against Y/N’s face. She bit her lip to try and stop the tears pricking her eyes.
“Y/N-” He tried to grab her arm, but she shook him off. She let out a sob and ran away. “Y/N!” he called after her again, but she ignored him. Instead, she ran, as far away as she could, trying to gather her thoughts.
She woke up the next morning, not knowing where she was. Trees surrounded her, and her face was puffy from all of the crying. She sighed, and picked herself up. Trying to listen for any sign of any of her friends, she creeped along the bushes.
“Help!” someone called out, and Y/N leaped into action. Running as fast as she could towards the cry for help, she sighed with relief when she stumbled into the clearing from the previous night. However, she quickly deflated when she realized it was Zuko. Wait, were those- the Avatar's friends?
“Let him go,” she yelled. The "gaang" was trying to surround Zuko. There were two of them, the two water tribe siblings. They turned at the sound of her command.
"Who do you think you are?" the boy asked, with a tone of annoyance. Y/N ignored him.
“Two on two, Zuko. We can take them... probably.” Y/N rushed past them, jumping to Zuko's side.
"No, you can't. Don't even think about attacking," the girl threatened.
“Why... why are you helping me?” Zuko asked, ignoring what the girl said. He wasn't looking at her, but instead focused on the opponents in front of him. She sighed.
“I’m heartbroken, not heartless.” She stood at a fighting stance, back to back with him. She unsheathed her sword, and got ready to fight.
Sword against sword, back against back, fire against water. They were pretty evenly matched, but thankfully, Y/N was skilled with a sword, and Zuko had been practicing his firebending.
Moments later, Zuko gave some sort of triumphant sound. The water tribe boy recoiled in pain; Zuko had burned him. His sister screamed, immediately getting him out of the dangerous situation and rushing to heal it with her waterbending.
Y/N was ready to celebrate when- she winced; there was a sudden pain in her side. She clutched her torso with an arm, and she cursed when she felt something warm and sticky. She pulled her hand back and looked at it. Blood.
The sight of it made her head spin and her knees weak. She gasped as she fell to the floor, and Zuko rushed to catch her.
“Y/N, I’m so, so sorry. I-” His voice broke. “Hang- hang in there. I’m going to get you back to camp, alright?” He carried her up, bridal style, and ran as fast as humanly possible.
“Yeah- yeah, okay.” Everything seemed to spin, and was starting to blur. She blinked hard, trying to get rid it, but it wouldn’t go away.
Blink. The trees all merged into one green blob.
Blink. Zuko's racing heartbeat was calming... Y/N felt herself falling asleep...
What felt like seconds later, Y/N found herself awake in... some sort of hut. Azula's tent...
"Oh, you're awake." Azula's voice rang through her head. "I... wouldn't try to get up if I were you." She was right, everything hurt, and getting up was the last thing she wanted to do.
“You know, I’m sorry for what my brother did to you," Azula started. Y/N froze. "You didn’t deserve that... For what it's worth, I would've chosen you.”
“He told you?" Y/N mumbled, and Azula nodded, so she changed the subject, trying to avoid awkwardness. "I didn’t know you were physically able to apologize,” Y/N joked, and Azula playfully rolled her eyes in response.
“I’m just... glad you’re okay.” Her voice trailed off, and Azula turned to face away from her, not daring to make eye contact.
"What's this? Affection from Azula... how charming." Y/N laughed.
"Shut up," Azula scoffed. "You almost died, okay?"
"Whatever, Azula," Y/N said, through her smile.

-IF YOU HAVE ANY REQUESTS DONT HESITATE TO ASK-
Things after the war ended had been chaotically peaceful. Turns out that leading an entire nation, specially when it was the one that caused the war, and reuniting the lands that had for so long been against eachother was harder than all of you thought. The fact that a group of teenagers were the head of the operation wasn’t a big advantage either.
Sure, Aang and Zuko, who were the ones who had the most important positions when it came to politics and diplomacy, had advisors and people around to help guide them, but it was still a hard job. Nevertheless, without a war or fighting, you were sure it was good for the entire group to keep busy. They’d kept a lifestyle of always moving around and being on guard for so long it would’ve been a big shock to be forced to stay still after that.
Katara and Sokka travelled back and forth from the Southern Water Tribe to the Fire nation a few times, not too often though because of how far apart the two were. That was a shame because of how close you’d grown to Katara and her motherly self, her advice and her unconditional friendship, and even to Sokka and his bad jokes, his way of teasing everyone and how he could make you smile even when you weren’t in the mood, you even missed how mad he made you sometimes. Suki went with them to spend some time away from everything, she loved her life as a Kioshi warrior but she decided she needed a break after everything she had gone through.
Aang, on the other hand, was traveling all over but mostly between the Earth kingdom, were he would very often meet with Katara, and the Fire nation. You got to see him way more often than you got to see Katara, Suki and Sokka, although he tended to be busy with avatar business. He was doing a great job, you had to admit. The people loved him, he found a way to spread his teachings and the teachings of the Air nomads to the world and uniting others helping them put aside their differences seemed to be his thing now more than ever. But most importantly he seemed truly happy, one time he even told you he finally felt like he was making all the air nomads proud, wherever they were.
Toph still wanted to be away from her parents, so she refused to go back to the Earth Kingdom. She hated the cold, not being able to use her seismic senses in the snow and being bossed around by katara, so she refused to go with them too. So when you offered her to stay with you, she accepted. She made it seem as though it was her last choice because she had to keep her tough girl reputation, but actually she liked you a lot, she saw you kind of as a big sister. You took care of her in a way no one had before, not seeing her as helpless and weak but still being there for her when she needed you. Though she’d never tell this to anyone aloud.
And Zuko was still Zuko, just that now he was a Firelord. He took his job very seriously, determined to prove wrong everyone who had said he was too young or too weak for it. He knew the big responsibility he had in his hands and he seemed to be doing really well. He had his moments, of course, where he would have outbursts of emotion and anger, but he always found his way back to being who he needed to be for his Nation, and you always helped with that. He was the one who suggested you stayed in the Fire nation as a representative of the Northern Water tribe. You were hesitant at first, but after thinking the idea over you realized you had no business up in the tribe, you’d been away for a long time and you weren’t ready to go back just yet.
The two of you had never been incredibly close in the time since he joined the gaang, but you couldn’t denied there was a connection between the two. You got his humor and he got yours, you could tease eachother all day without getting butthurt, you could open up and talk about deep stuff under the stars on a sleepless night, and spending time with him seemed easier to do than with most people. You’d brushed this off as the two of you being good friends for a good while, even after you moved into the palace and started to hang out with him more, but for the past few weeks it’s been getting harder to do.
Every time Toph, him and you ate lunch together and he sat in front of you, you couldn’t help but end up staring at him, not in a weird, creepy way but in a ‘I’m mesmerized by you why am i mesmerized by you and since when are your eyes such a beautiful shade of gold’ way. You were in denial about it but deep down you knew you were starting to have a crush on him, and eventually Toph caught up to it too.
One night after diner she pulled you into her room, closed the door and said “Listen, Snow queen, I’m kinda tired of your heart going crazy every time mister flaming pants is around so you either get over your little crush, tell him how you feel or I will personally snitch on you directly to him, understood?” You didn’t even have the guts to deny it to her, specially since she’d know if you were lying, so you just heavily sighed and looked at the floor. She must’ve felt bad for you cause she took your hand and dragged you to sit on her bed to interrogate you about the situation.
“Out of anyone you could’ve ended up liking I never saw this one coming” she told you taking a seat on the opposite side of the bed
“Don’t get me started” you threw yourself back to the bed and stared at the ceiling for a second before speaking again “Like how dumb do I have to be to crush on someone who isn’t only probably the busiest man on all kingdoms right now, but also royalty and... well Zuko. He would never like a girl like me and even if he did, he probably has to end up with a princess or something.”
“I’m not letting you drown in a pity party here, ok?” Toph pulled your wrist and forced you to sit back up and look at her. “He’s lucky a girl as decent as you is willing to put up with that temper of his and how annoying he can get. Now what are you gonna do about it?”
“Nothing?” You replied in a low voice not taking a second to think about it. Toph punched you in the arm in response “Hey, what was that for?”
“What I said before still stands, I can’t deal with you being all flustered every time he’s around, so get over it or tell him how you feel.” She spat and all you could do was grunt and throw yourself back into the bed
So you were gonna get over it then. Easy task. Never done anything easier before.
It wasn’t.
Turns out that by trying to avoid Zuko at all costs you ended up stumbling into him even more. Around the corners, in the hallways, everywhere. The plan was to just avoid him as much as possible until eventually your feelings faded away, you couldn’t have a crush on someone you didn’t even see right? Wrong. Even when you weren’t around Zuko he was still on your mind. You tried to go to the palace library and distract yourself with literature, but reading romance books only made you feel more miserable and the only other option there was were war strategy books which you weren’t very interested in. The next distraction you chose was gardening, you loved nature and you were a water bender, it was the perfect task you thought, but once again you were wrong. You turned out to be such a bad gardener, Kya who was the one in charge of the royal gardens (and who was the sweetest lady) ended up banning you from messing with her flowers ever again. The last thing you could think of to stay away from Zuko was feeding the turtle ducks. It seemed like a good idea and on the few occasions you’d been in the pond before, the little animals seemed to be very fond of you. You couldn’t mess this one up, anyone could feed the ducks, but there was a little problem as it seemed to be the theme of that day, the Fire lord had forgotten to tell you that the pond was his place of choice when he needed to clear his head.
You didn’t even notice he was there until you heard his voice behind you. “Keep feeding them like this and they’ll get obese”
You jumped a bit out of surprise and turned around to face him with your palm pressed to your chest. “Spirits, Zuko, don’t do that to me, you’re gonna kill me one of these days” It was a bright and sunny day, the heat of the Fire nation weather made his face glimmer a little, his hair was up held by the royal Fire lord hair piece and he was wearing a version of his formal attire made for a hotter weather, leaving his muscly arms on display. As soon as you realized you were staring once again, you turned your attention back to the pond in an attempt to hide the blush that was slowly conquering your cheeks.
He took a sit next to you and waited a couple seconds before breaking the silence. “Hey... um... I don’t know if this is just me but you’ve been acting weird lately, is everything ok?” He asked looking at you.
Everything is fine, definitely just you.” you replied not taking your eyes away from the shining water of the pond. The ducks had grown tired of waiting for you to keep feeding them and swam away.
“I... don’t think so. You didn’t come to breakfast today, everytime we’re together you seem to wanna leave as soon as possible and right now you can’t even look at me.” He paused before taking in a deep breath. “Did... did I do something to upset you?”
You finally turned around to look at him and the look you saw in his eyes was heartbreaking. Ever since he joined Team Avatar, Zuko had been making a huge effort to be good. You could see how sometimes he struggled to pick being kind and gentle over being erratic and explosive, and you also knew that had a lot to do with his childhood. But he had been doing such a good job at it, specially since he became Fire lord, he was so much more friendly, better at socializing and overall improving. And right now it was clear to you that you had made him feel like he was failing at being a good person and he’d somehow messed up with you.
You turned your body around slightly and put a reassuring hand on his knee before saying “Oh, Zuko, no. You haven’t done anything and I’m not upset at you, I mean that. It’s just...” coming up with lies and excuses had always been your strong point but having Zuko there making you ridiculously nervous wasn’t a factor that helped. “I.. uh...I’m getting a little homesick, you know? With Toph gone most of the day and you busy, I’ve been feeling a little melancholic about my home, but it’s nothing I promise. I’m just trying to find something to do with my time.” You we’re impressed with yourself with this one, it actually sounded pretty convincing.
You thought you had the situation handled until Zuko spoke again a few seconds later. “Y/N, I’m sorry. I hadn’t realized until now with all the chaos of being Fire lord but I asked you to stay here and represent the Northern Water tribe and I haven’t even given you time out of my day. I haven’t been the best host, have I?” Before you could even reply he widened his eyes and said “I have an idea, tomorrow I’ll take the day off and we can go on a small field trip to this cabin my family has on the ourskirts of town, there are some nice fields and it’s very peaceful, we’ll have a picnic lunch there and just relax. You can even ask Toph to come with. How does that sound?”
He looked at you expectantly and you started to look for reasons to turn him down, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. It was true that you hadn’t had much time to spend with him ever since he took his position, and in all honesty, crush or not you really did miss him. Your weakness for him won the battle and you ended up accepting the plan saying it was a great idea. The regent stood up from his place and assuring you he’d have everything ready for the next day he left.
You really had messed up this time.
—————
The next morning you put on a flowy, flower-print dress. It was classy but at the same time comfortable and light enough to handle the summer weather. You had nervously been looking at yourself in the mirror for way too long now. Before dinner the past night you at least had hopes that Toph would come with to the field trip and she would help you contain yourself when it came to Zuko, but of course that wasn’t the case. When he had brought the topic up at the table Toph limited herself to look at you knowingly and say “You know what? I happen to be very busy tomorrow, you know, I’m trying to get a name for myself in the Fire nation’s fighting scene and I have a fight tomorrow, sorry.” You knew she was lying because she had told you about her fight but instead of the next day it was three days from then. All you could do was look at the little devil and make sure you wrote a mental note of getting back at her as soon as you could.
So here you were, minutes ago from embarking in a field trip with the person you were supposed to avoid, and you had no idea how you were gonna get out of this one.
A knock on your door startled you and took you out of your worrying thoughts. A few seconds later a maid’s head popped in as she said “Lady Y/N, Firelord Zuko and the carriage are ready for you.” You took a deep breath and walked towards the door while replying with a soft “Thank you, Yun”
The carriage waited for you in front of the palace and so did Zuko. He was already inside, sheltering himself from the unforgiving sun, so you startled him when you hopped inside. “Y/N, you look...nice” he complimented you, a faint blush running through his cheeks making him gain a more childish and youthful look.
“Thank you, Zuko. Likewise.” You responded attempting to stay as calm as you could. You hated that he had so much power over you.
He ordered for you to be in your way before the carriage started moving swiftly. Your eyes flowed to the window, looking out at the capital city of the Fire nation. “You’ve done a great job leading this people. They look... so happy.” You drew your eyes back at Zuko as he stared at you. It was you who was starting to blush now.
“I hope so. I’ve done everything I’m capable of to change the old ways of this nation. I hope I’m making the right choices.” A worrisome look took over his eyes as he let his own attention drift towards the streets.
“Hey” you called to him as you stretched your hand to cover his. “You’re doing just fine Zuko. You’ve done so much for these people and all the other nations as well, I’m sure you’ll do even more good.”
He faintly smiled at you as a response and you could tell that although he did worry about the future, your reassurance helped.
The rest of the ride was spent pointing out the animals you saw on the road, sharing childhood stories about when Zuko and his mom used to come here when they both needed to get away from everything, and a bit of teasing about how Zuko had no idea what to pack for a picnic and had to ask the head chef of the kitchen for help. Luckily you had become friends with chef Karou in the time you’d been living in the palace and he knew your taste rather well.
When you finally arrived there was no sight of the usual movement and noise proper of a big city, the air was filled with the peculiar scent of flowers you couldn’t recognize just yet and grass. In the distance at your left you could see a small cattle of Hippo cows and Komodo chickens. And at your right a long field of grass and flowers that seemed to go up in a small and almost unnoticeable hill.
You and Zuko stepped down the carriage just as a guard handed him the picnic basket. The tall regent turned to you and ordered “Follow me, I wanna show you something”. You did as you were told, being led by him all the way up the hill until you were at the very top. When the two of you got there your breath was taken away by the beautiful view you had in front of you. A huge field of flowers layed gracefully at the end of the hill and extended far enough that it connected to the horizon.
“This is...” you started but were so taken aback by the view you didn’t finish your sentence.
Zuko seemed to understand regardless and replied “I know.” Behind you he started to set up a cloth for the two of you to sit on. You forced yourself to remove your attention from the field and place it on what was going on behind you. Taking a seat on the opposite end of the cloth you helped him take out all the items chef Karou had packed for you. When you were done you looked at Zuko and said “Thanks for this. It’s really nice.”
“No need to thank me, I’ve been leaving you alone so much time lately. I know aside from Toph I’m pretty much all you have here so take this as a ‘Sorry I’ve been a terrible friend’ offering.” He smiled wide expecting you to do the same but that smile faded away as soon as he saw the expression on your face.
‘Friend’
The word echoed in your head as your eyes dropped to the food you had in front of you. Of course he saw you as a friend. You had almost convinced yourself you should confess your feelings to him and he goes on to call himself your friend. A knot in your throat started to form and you did your best to show it as little as you could. But you obviously failed.
“Everything ok?” Zuko asked tilting his head to catch your eyes.
You looked up and faked a smile. “Yeah... just thinking how far we’ve come.” You lied through your teeth before continuing. “Anyways, enough of all the cheesiness, I’m starving.”
“Agreed” He replies picking up something for himself. You chose a small salty biscuit with a mix of meats on top and decided to distract yourself with it. “Chef Karou said you’d like that one. He also said you hated onions and peas. What type of weirdo hates peas?”
You chuckled a little, the feeling that oppressed your chest fading away quickly. “I do. They’re disgusting and if you like them I don’t trust you.”
Zuko laughed loudly before remarking “Its not like I like them, Y/N. It’s just a weird thing to be picky over. They’re peas, they don’t really taste like anything.”
You widened your eyes and quickly swallowed the bite of biscuit you had taken. “What do you mean they don’t taste like anything? They taste disgusting and they are mushy and just... gross”
Zuko replies with another laugh. His laugh made you feel warm inside, it could make you forget about everything, Toph’s threats, your previous plans and even the now faint voice poking the back of your mind telling you to be careful or you’d get your heart broken.
The two of you kept eating and chattering at the same time. You’d finished the salty food and it came time for the desert. Chef Karou had made a type of cake and stored it inside a small glass jar. You tried opening the lid but it was too hard. You heard Zuko in front of you offering you help but you refused it telling him you could do it on your own. After a couple minutes of struggling , Zuko took your deep sigh as a sign of defeat and scooted closer to you. “Here, let me.” He took the jar from your hands and quickly opened the lid, handing it back to you. You looked up expecting to find a smug smirk that felt way to familiar to you at this point but instead you found his serious face dangerously close to yours.
You took the jar back and set in down. “Thanks” you muttered softly and quietly. His only response was to slowly but firmly raise a hand up to your face to put away a strand of hair that had fallen. His touch sent shivers down your spine. All thoughts of caution escaped your mind as you felt his face so close you could feel his warm breath mixing with yours. The tension between you seemed to almost be to much to handle when you thought you saw Zuko lean in a little. Before anything else could happen, one of the guards that had come with and stayed back where the carriage was spoke. “Firelord Zuko”
The golden eyed boy dropped his hand from your face and turned around to face the guard. “Have they not taught you to not interrupt people when they’re talking privately?”
“I am very sorry, Firelord.” The guard bowed in sign of respect. “But we have just received a messenger hawk with a letter from the palace. The Avatar and you other friends are here.”

Zuko x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 1284 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Finding Zuko in the Northern water tribe and hiding him away from the others.
——————————————————————————————————
“What are you doing here?” you barked out, holding your knife high as you looked at the firebender. He had just crawled out of a hole in the ice, and as far as you were concerned, he was the enemy.
After all, the soot in the sand made him look as guilty as anything else.
However, the man didn’t even look phased at your appearance as he tried to breathe. It must have been strange for him, being out of his element…
Good.
“I asked you a question” you repeated, glaring daggers at the man though you had no idea what you would do if he decided to enter into a fight.
You could hold him off for a while, but eventually, he would likely best you. The waterbending you did know was very minimal, all things considered.
“I heard you” he grumbled out, sitting up slowly.
It was a casual movement, compared to what you had been expecting, but you didn’t let up your guard. After all, you had no idea what he was capable of but you weren’t going to let him leave this cave.
If he got out into the city, there was no telling who he could hurt. Not that he really looked to be in the position to hurt anyone right now.
When he pulled his wet hood away from his face, you saw that he was covered in bruises and marks, making it obvious he had been hurt before now.
If he was weakened, you may have had a fighting chance at taking him down.
“Who are you?” he asked finally, taking note of the fact you hadn’t relaxed since he’d arrived here. What kind of person just hung out in the cold like this? All alone.
It baffled Zuko, and that was saying a lot. After all, he loved to be alone and understood the benefits of solitude, but this was a tad excessive.
You sighed.
Firebenders always talked so much. “They call me Y/N. Who are you? What are you doing here?” you repeated, trying to get all the information you could out of him.
He didn’t seem like a threat, but you couldn’t let yourself think that way. He was fire nation, and he was dangerous. He was the enemy and he would kill you if he got the chance.
You couldn’t forget that.
“Are you a fire nation soldier?” you asked then, not even letting him answer the first set of questions you had fired off before it hit you. If he was, you should have just shoved him back into that hole now.
Your people were on the verge of full annihilation and you couldn’t allow him to get out of here.
“No.”
It was an answer, but not a very good one. Especially not considering all the things you had asked him just now. Though, if you knew anything about Zuko, it wouldn’t have surprised you.
“I’m here for the avatar. Once I get him, I’ll be on my way” he assured, shocking you. He didn’t want to kill all of you? You didn’t believe it.
You had never met a firebender before, but from what you had been told, that wasn’t true. The fire nation brought nothing more than death and destruction and this stranger would be no different.
“You’re freezing” you pointed out, noticing the way he shivered as he sat. Firebenders didn’t belong in the north, and he should have known that.
Not that you could really blame him.
“It’s cold”
A lot of attitude from someone who would be drown if you so much as called for help.
“Get up” you decided finally, offering a hand to the man, ignoring the obvious danger you were facing by doing so. You should have just kicked him into the water, but you couldn’t do it.
It wasn’t in your nature to condemn someone to their death, knowing you could stop it.
“You really don’t want to hurt my people? As long as you get the avatar” you clarified, helping him to his feet. It didn’t make any sense but Zuko nodded. He didn’t care about these people, as long as he got the avatar.
That was what he’d come for, after all.
“Do you know where I can find him?” He asked, looking at you with a newfound interest. Perhaps you had a use to him after all, even if you were a bit annoying at first.
You did.
It was wrong to give Aang up, you knew that, but it was too dangerous to let anyone else into this place. You had to protect your people first, and you had to assume that the avatar could handle himself.
After all, the fire nation could tear this place apart, and you couldn’t allow that.
“I’ll take you. But first, you have to warm up. You’ll be no good frozen solid” you teased, not getting much of a reaction from this stranger. He clearly was not easily amused, but you didn’t care.
For some reason, you felt like there was something about this stranger, something that you couldn’t just ignore. He was a person, he felt things and had weaknesses.
It was something you’d never imagined would be possible in the devils of the fire nation. Perhaps that was what prompted you to believe in him so much, but in any case, you couldn’t go back now.
You needed to help him.
“Will you tell me your name now? Or do I have to keep calling you stranger?” you wondered, walking with the man to your home as carefully as you could.
No one was around these back ways right now, seeing as they were preparing for a war, so you didn’t have to worry about getting caught with him.
If you could get a fire started, or at least get him out of the cold, you could get him out of here before anyone else had to find out about a fire bender in the northern water tribe.
It was the most you could hope for.
“Zuko” he grumbled out, keeping close to you though you were only serving to annoy him more and more as you kept talking. You didn’t seem to understand what was at stake if he let the avatar go.
Though he shouldn’t have been surprised.
You didn’t seem to understand much about what was going on at all outside this small island. If only he could make you understand...it would be so much easier.
“You’re the prince, aren’t you?” you realized, putting together everything you should have realized right away. From the scar to his determined way of speaking, you should have known.
They talked of his banishment on every corner of the four nations, and you should have recognized him. No wonder he wasn’t just some heartless killer.
He really wasn’t a soldier.
“Not anymore”
It was so flippant, and you could hardly believe it. He was the prince, he would always be the prince, and he should have known it. “Don’t say that, it isn’t true” you reasoned, sitting down beside him on the ice.
It didn’t make any sense that you were so emotionally involved with him already, or that you cared so much but that was just the effect that Zuko had on you.
He was so powerful, and for being the first firebender you’d ever met, he wasn’t some monster. He was just someone who had been dealt a really rough hand by someone who should have cared for him.
It wasn’t fair but that was just the truth.
It was what he’d been through.
“Whatever you say, stranger” you teased, knowing this conversation was far from over.

“She’s just jealous,” Sokka knocked my shoulder with his.
I rolled my eyes and put my phone away. “I don’t care what she thinks, it was the only real name you picked so we’re going with it.”
“Oh? So I, in the end, named our child?”
“Don’t let it go to your head, Boomerang boy.” I shifted Lana on my hip and then realized something, my keys were in my backpack. “Take Lana for a sec okay?”
I handed over Lana and Sokka took her carefully. I looked away and started to dig into my backpack when suddenly an alarm went off.
At first I thought it was a car near us, but then I realized it was coming from Lana.
“What did I do?” Sokka shrieked, holding the baby towards me.
“I don’t know,” I cried and took Lana back. I looked her over quickly, but before I could finish, the alarm stopped.
Then an animatronic voice spoke.
“Abuse alarm set off once.”

‘Ember Island’- Zuko x (Waterbender)female!reader
Masterlist <3
An: so, this took forever, and for that I’m sorry! I’ve been super busy and this piece was really difficult to write (i couldn’t think of how they portrayed YN badly) , so I’m sorry if it’s not up to standard :( (PS: Being a bender is only mentioned like once, so you could totally be whatever bender you want !)
Thank you for the request though! I’m very grateful for you! ❤️‍🩹
Summary:
@ilovegirlsgeneration
“So an already established relationship with Zu, and it's the day of the Ember Island Play. Reader thought it would be cool and then woops the play basically makes them look like a terrible person and they freak out and Zuko is there to comfort them!”
I changed it slightly so keep the summary as a rough outline :)
Warnings: I don’t think there’s any, let me know if there are though!
Tumblr media
You sat next to Katara on the step in front of the fire nation’s royal family beach resort, observing the avatar and his mentor (more commonly known as Zuko) train tirelessly. Toph laid down on the opposite side of Katara, a relaxed pose adorned by the young earthbender. Not too long after, the teens training bowed to each other, Zuko stretching his arms as he walked off.
“Doesn't it seem weird that we’re hiding from the firelord in his own house?” the waterbender said, looking around the overgrown building walls.
“I told you, my father hasn’t come here since our family was actually happy,” Zuko replied from his spot on the barren fountain, wiping the sweat off of his body with a rag, “And that was a long time ago. It’s the last place anyone would think to look for us.”
You smiled at the firebender, drinking in his appearance - you should watch him train more often. Your moment of serenity (and rather shameless staring) was interrupted when Sokka and Suki joined you guys, the boy holding a scroll in his hands.
“You guys are not gonna believe this! There’s a play about us,” he said, smugly.
-
“We were just in town and we found this poster,” Suki signalled with her hands, and Sokka opened the scroll wide, revealing a poorly drawn (and semi inaccurate) depiction of Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko in the background - along with some writing which you struggled to read due to the distance.

“What? How is that possible?” Katara moved to get a better angle, icy blue eyes blown wide.
Toph neared the group too, meanwhile you went and stood next to Zuko.
“Listen to this: ‘The boy in the iceberg’ is a new production from acclaimed playwright pu wang ten. He scattered the globe gathering information on the avatar. From the icy south pole to the heart of ba sing se. The sources include singing nomads, pirates, prisoners of war and a surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage.”
Your eyebrows furrowed once he reached the sources, how did they even know your team has spoken to these people?
“Brought you by the critically-acclaimed Ember island players.” Suki read the fine print outloud.
Zuko visibly cringed, groaning, “My mother used to take us to see them! They butchered ‘love amongst the dragons’ every year.”
The group stared at the annoyed bender for a second, before the waterbender turned to her brother, “Sokka, do you really think it’s a good idea to attend a play about ourselves?”
He replied, eccentrically, “C’mon, a day at the theatre? This is the kind of wacky, time wasting nonsense I’ve been missing!”
“What do you guys think?” Suki asked.
Zuko looked up to you from his spot, waiting for you to voice your opinion, “I mean, why not? It does seem pretty fun.”
“If you say so.” Katara replied.
“Sure,” Toph shrugged.
“I guess so.” Zuko smiled at you, imagining a romantic time at the theatre together.
“Get a room.” Toph fake gagged, sensing your heart beats.
“You can’t even see us!” you yelled back playfully.
The group had a good laugh at that, Toph still claiming it’s gross.
Shortly after the sun took its leave, and the moon settled between the fluffy clouds, you all made your way to the play. The walk there was peaceful, the sounds of grasshoppers filling your ears. Zuko took it as an opportunity to hold your hand, which you took, gratefully. He didn’t always initiate PDA, so it was definitely a surprise. Once your hands interlocked, he looked at you, a blush illuminating his face. You bumped him with your hips, wordlessly asking him “Why are you shy, stupid?” at which he stuck his tongue out at you.
Upon arriving, you all clammered inside, getting past the herd of people just barely in time for the beginning. The curtains were still shut as you all chose your seats. Toph took a corner seat, followed by Katara right by her. Aang sat next to the waterbender, a grin on his face. You and Zuko took the seats on the higher level, sitting on the outer edge since the other couple took the inner one. Once comfortable, Zuko wrapped an arm around you, pulling you closer to his body.
“Comfy?”
“Yeah.” you pecked his cheek, eliciting a chuckle from him, which shook your body, causing you to laugh too.
“Why are we sitting in the nosebleed section? My feet can’t see a thing from up here!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll tell your feet what’s happening.” Katara assured Toph.
Just then, the lights dimmed, and the curtains began to open. You drummed your hands on your thighs in anticipation. Zuko smiled at your childlike excitement.
On the screen, awfully recreated versions of Sokka and Katara appeared, rowing a boat. Sokka quickly stood, pointing to him and Katara excitedly. Unfortunately, he bumped into Zuko by accident, who bumped into your head.
Your boyfriend gasped, cupping your head, “Sorry, Sokka bumped into me.”
“Don’t worry about it, it didn’t even hurt.”
He looked at you with a saddened expression, and you squeezed his hand in return.
“I’m starving!” you heard Sokka’s knock-off shout, the crowd erupting into hysterics.
The water tired siblings looked at one another in complete shock and annoyance.
“Is food the only thing on your mind?”
“Well, I'm trying to get it out of my mind, and into my mouth. I’m starving!”
“This is pathetic, my jokes are way funnier than this!”
You turned to Zuko, smiling, “Okay why was that actually funny. I didn’t expect him to say that.”
“That was far from funny.”
You gasped, clutching your heart. Just before you spoke, Toph began, laughing: “I think he’s got you pegged!”
“Every day, the world awaits a beacon to guide us, and yet, none appears.” Katara’s actor said, emotionally. “Still, we cannot give up hope, for hope is all we have! And we must never relinquish it, even,” she fell, sobbing. “Even to our dying breath!”
You looked back at Katara, “Well, that’s just silly. I don’t sound like that.”
Sokka and Suki were struggling to conceal their laughter, meanwhile Zuko just smirked, finding it funny. You covered your mouth with your hands, giggles escaping against your will.
“Oh man! This writer’s a genius!”
Suddenly, the screening darkened, and a blinding beam of light clouded your vision. You brought up your fingers to cover your eyes, only slightly helping you see.
“It appears to be someone frozen in ice. Perhaps for 100 years!”
You facepalmed, “No one would just guess that.”
Zuko shrugged, “I mean, I guessed it was the avatar then, and I was aware he was gone for 100 years.”
“Yeah, but they weren't.”
“Fair enough.”
“But who? Who is the boy in the iceberg?”
Aang excitedly leaned forward, practically vibrating at the excitement of his soon to be appearance.
“Waterbend! Ha-Ya!” Katara groaned at this, that’s not even how bending works!
After the actress made a choppy hand motion, the ice broke in half, smoke continuously oozing out. Just then, a lady in a bald cap emerged, winking comically. Aang did a double take, convinced his eyes were deceiving him.
“Who are you, frozen boy?”
The avatar’s actress giggled, “I’m the avatar, silly, here to spread joy and fun!”
“Wait, is that a woman playing me?”
You couldn’t help but notice the smile on your boyfriend’s features, raising a brow at his lack of compassion.
You jumped as a sudden beast popped up behind them, Zuko laughing at your reaction. Appa’s theatrical recreation was appalling, much like the play itself. You furrowed your brows as the creature made loud noises and jumped around.
“An airbender,” the waterbender’s performer exclaimed, “My heart is so full of hope that it’s making me tear-bend,”
“That’s a thing?” you asked your fellow waterbender, who shook her head in annoyance, barely hearing you over the sounds of the false sobs.
“My stomach is so empty that it’s making me tear-bend.” he also fell weeping, “I need meat!”
Aang’s stag player gasped, pointing somewhere in the distance, “But wait, Is that a platter of meaty dumpling?”
The avatar’s face was priceless, his head leaning on the safety bar.
“Oh! Where? Where?”
The performer laughed, an extremely fake sounding laugh, “Did I mention that I’m an incurable prankster?”
The crowd erupted into a, yet again, hysterical laughter, at a quite literally anti-funny punch line.
“Aren’t jokes meant to be funny?” Zuko whispered, jokingly confused.
You giggled, nodding at his comment.
“I don’t do that! That’s not what I’m like,” the young avatar said, exasperated, “And I’m not a woman!”
Toph snickered, “Oh! They nailed you twinkle-toes!”
Aang frowned.
Just then, a boat with an old fellow and a younger one with a high ponytail appeared sailing on a fire nation boat.
“Prince Zuko, you must try this cake.”
“I don’t have time to stuff my face, I must capture the avatar to regain my honour!”
Zuko winced, not enjoying this outside perspective of him.
“Well, while you do that, maybe I’ll capture another slice.” he ate loudly, the chewing noises loud and gross.
“You sicken me!”
Zuko folded his arms, “They make me look totally stiff and humourless.”
Katara, from her spot, replied, “Actually, I think that actor’s pretty spot on.”
“How could you say that?!” The actor for uncle Iroh’s voice boomed, “Let’s forget about the avatar and get massages.”
“How could you say that?!” ‘zuko’ responded loudly.
You giggled at your lover’s defeated face.
For a while, you lost focus on the play, but apparently, during that period, Aang found momo, Suki and Sokka met, they met king bumi, the trio was surrounded by pirates (because Katara stole a scroll).
Then there was that scene where the blue spirit saves Aang, which Zuko seemed uncomfortable watching, And of course then there was that whole Jet incident. Honestly, it was getting boring waiting for yourself to be introduced.
After many, many, more events, the intermission started.
“So far, the intermission is the best part of the play.” you shrugged, agreeing with the firebender.
“Apparently, the playwright thinks I’m an idiot who tells bad jokes about meat all the time.”
“Yeah, you tell bad jokes about plenty of other topics.” you giggled at the kyoshi warrior’s response.
“I know!”
“At Least the Sokka actor kinda looks like you, the woman playing the avatar doesn’t resemble me at all.” looks like he was taking this personally.
“I don’t know. You are more in touch with your feminine side than most other guys.”
He groaned, looking as if he was about to start a fight.
“Relax, Aang. They’re not accurate portrayals. It’s not like I’m a preachy crybaby who can’t resist giving over emotional speeches about hope all the time.”
Everyone started in silence, “What?” Katara asked.
“Yeah, that’s not you at all.” The avatar said, half heartedly.
“Listen friends, it is obvious the playwright did his research. I know it must hurt, but what you’re seeing up there is the truth.”
Just then, the call for reentering beckoned you all to go back to finish this atrocity. Your hands interlocked with Zuko’s as you walked, bodies even closer together this time around.
“Well here we are in the Earth Kingdom.”
“I’d better have a look around to see if I can find an earth bending teacher.” ‘Aang’ flew around.
“This is it! This must be where I come in!”
“I flew all over town, but I couldn't find a single earth bending master!”
“Here it comes!” toph yelped.
“You can’t find an earth bending master in the sky, you have to look underground.”
Everyone erupted into hysterics, Toph still in shock.
“Who are you?”
“My name’s Toph, because it sounds like tough, and that’s just what I am.”
“Wait a minute, I sound like a guy. A really buff guy”
“Well Toph, what you hear up there is the truth. It hurts, doesn’t it.”
“Are you kidding me? I wouldn’t have cast it any other way. At least it’s not a flying bald lady.”
Aang looked as if he was about to blow a fuse.
The actors had more talk with the Toph player, ending in him screaming for some reason.
You sat up straight again once you realised this should be when you come in.
“Your turn, Yn.” Sokka said, laughing.
The false gang were walking around some shops, exactly when you came in. Or, were supposed to. You furrowed your brows as the scene played out, and yet, you weren’t even there.
Katara looked at you, trying to get a feel for your mood - yet you were unreadable. Without a warning, you got up, Zuko’s arm falling down into the empty seat. You walked out before anyone could say anything to stop you, this was beyond humiliating. It wasn't a bad portrayal, it was worse - you weren’t even recognised as a member of the team. You sighed, arms crossed as you walked out onto the beach, soles of your shoes dipping in the clean sands of the Ember Island beach. Your face felt warm, a contrast to the freezing cold weather. Tears pricked your eyes as you recapped the thoughts, Am I that irrelevant? Boring? Why’d they cut me out? Immersed in your thoughts, you hadn’t felt the hot tears stream down your flushed cheeks. You were embarrassed, belittled, and excluded. Does everyone see you as an outsider to the gang? You huffed, roughly wiping the waterworks that never quite seemed to stop.
“Yn!” you heard a familiar voice call.
You shook your head, picking up the pace.
“Can you please talk to me?” Zuko called again, exasperated and clearly stressed.
You stopped walking, a pout on your face as he caught up. He stood behind you and lightly grabbed your arm, turning you to face him. Immediately, the firebender’s face softened, his calloused hands reaching up to wipe your tears. You leaned your  face into his palm, and he pecked your cheek. You let out a deep breath, pushing yourself into his arms.
“What’s wrong darling?”
You shook your head ‘no’, “It’s not a big deal. Just being dramatic.” you let out a forced laugh at the end.
He knew you to be the type of person to respect others feelings, no matter how miniscule. But when it came to yourself, you always invalidated your own emotions, it hurt him to see you be so careless with yourself.
“It’s not dramatic if you're upset,” he spoke intently.
You sighed loudly, shutting your eyes, contemplating what to say -or actually, how to say it, “It- It’s like I’m not respected, or or even important enough to be recognised. I feel left out.”
He paused, waiting to see if you would continue, but you mistook his silence as judgement, and immediately pushed yourself away. “I know it isn’t as bad as anyone else’s it’s stupid but it’s like-”
“It’s not stupid. And it’s pretty bad.” he cut you off. “You are respected, at least in our group. Clearly the playwright made a mistake not including the funniest, prettiest,” he teased, stepping to you and pinching your sides, causing you to squirm. “Most amazing member.” Zuko kissed you quickly, more of a peck really.
You laughed, pulling him into a deeper, more passionate kiss, hands tangling in his messy hair. You rested your forehead on his, lips separating.
“I love you,” his cheeks glew a crimson red, making you snicker.
“I love you too,”

Hi, I hope you are fine.
I think I'm late for your "35 Questions for Fanfiction Writers", hehe.
I would love to know the answer to 22,27 and 33 (only if you want).
PS: I love your mando fic.
Thank you, anon!  <3 <3 <3
22. Do you listen to anything while you write?
Yes!  Absolutely!  I almost never write in silence.  For stories that take me more than a day to write, I’ll often make a playlist for them with an emotional theme I want to focus on.  For my fic Fulminating, I made a playlist called “things catch up” which included songs about drowning, water, and inevitability; for stories with a strong setting, like a desert, I have a few climate-based playlists with tracks on deserts, sun, and heat (”Desert Daze”).  I have playlists for Hawke x Varric, for Fitzsimmons, for Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth Comstock, for Shakarian stories; I also have them for specific characters (Namira Lavellan, Din Djarin, Phil Coulson, Xia Shepard, Zevran Arainai, Cullen Rutherford, Steven Universe).  Writing playlists for me are almost always moody, heavy things, even if I’m writing relatively fluffy stories.  Artists that make frequent appearances include Radiohead, Menomena, Aimee Mann, Modest Mouse, Poe, Kathryn Joseph, The Postal Service, Rufus Wainwright, Florence and the Machine, The Tiny, The National, Wolf Parade, Moby, Muse, M83, and Ted Leo and the Pharmacists.
27. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?
Any comment longer than a paragraph can make me swoon all day and go back and reread it again and again.  But, I’d have to say the comments that have stuck with me longest have been those that commented on my handling of grief in my writing.  My writing definitely changed after my brother’s death in 2017, and I incorporated his loss into many of my fandom stories where grief played a role.  Hearing from others who have lost someone that they recognized that depth, and those feelings, really touched me.  So in stories where Peli Motto encourages Din to talk about losing Grogu, or Hawke nudges Varric to talk about losing Bartrand, or Azula struggles with dementia while an elderly Zuko cares for her, that all comes from a place of loss, and knowing that I helped someone else feel a little more seen and a little less alone is so rewarding.
33. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
Hmmm... there are definitely times that I go back through my own writing and hope that my readers don’t see all of my commonly used tropes and phrases!  There are definitely words or phrases or actions that I absolutely overuse, and I’m not sure anyone has noticed yet, but I know they’re there.  ;)  If you do spot something I use all the time, er, consider it a fun Easter egg?  Y’know, the type of Easter egg you hide but then forget about, haha.
In general, though, my writing process is pretty much Find New Fandom, Wait for Inspiration to Attack, which is why it’s probably a good thing that writing isn’t my day job.  :)

Ok. First of all. ACCOUNTANT?! Big 🧠. Second of all. I’m wondering since you post a lot of ATLA stuff, would you ever consider writing for that fandom? Such as for our lovely Fire Lord Zuko...?
Oh gosh no, not big brain! Thank you though! (Although ps, I’m currently in my masters and will be graduating in the fall, and then it’s on to my license! Woof, lots of tests and studying lol)
I LOVE ZUKO. Also, I have written a couple of Zutara things on my AO3! But I would love love love to write zuko x reader if you guys think you’d be into it?
