I feel like there is definitely a Gnostic theme to Hell Followed With Us. Like, almost a reverse of the Monad and the Demiurge. The angels talk about salvation and the spirit and entering Heaven but in the end the Seraph is the wrath of G-d. Not the G-d that the angels worship, not the Monad of purity and the soul but isntead the wrath of the Demiurge of flesh and rot.

my theory is that the monsters of the protocol universe don't feed on specific fears but rather specific ways people experience fear, or the fears of different groups of people. Heinrich is kinda obvious with feeding on children and the type of fear they experience.
either that or the individual monsters are all kinda tulpa-esque and as the story around them spreads they become more powerful. in this way they would exist kinda like the 14(15) fears in that they are formed by collective fear only the externals are both hyper specific in terms of the fear they eat and more concentrated as in they are only one being instead of an overarching theme that certain beings/places/rituals fall into
So heinrich feeds not on specific fears but on the fears of a specific demographic? Thats interesting
