I just recently found your blog, and I love the advice and information that you have. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for a new/closet witch for creating a emotional healing anything? I'm going through a rough patch with family medical issues, and wanted to ask. If you feel uncomfortable answering, I'm fine with that. I would say carry a King Solomon Seal for healing and meditate on it for your own needs. Sorry I’m not on here often anymore but I plan to be more! Citrine also balances emotions, protects you from negative energies and increases your self esteem!

Sharing spells is good, it broadens your understanding of ritual and magic, but following them without grasping the why and hows, nor using critical thinking upon them to tweak them to your needs, not so much.

Thoughts on conjuring spirits

Never call up what you cannot put down. It is a myth – and a dangerous one, at that – that a practitioner can only attract things that they can deal with. Just like how when you’re walking in the woods only wild animals will come up to you if you can deal with them. Or just like in real life you will only interact with people that you can easily send away. In reality a person can attract all sorts of things to them that they cannot deal with – and magic is no different. If you start calling for powerful entities that you have no hope of banishing, well, then you’ll get them. If you have zero experience, start with entities that you have a fair chance of fighting – like a kitty or a bunny. See how you do, gain experience in banishments. Go on from there.

What you call will come. It is a cool, but very scary, fact that what you call will come. Start calling Bael or Beelzebub and you can be quite sure the Lord of Flies will take notice of you. You may not be able to sense or see this interaction, but it has occurred. It is a frustrating reality of being a conjurer that you have to control your thoughts and not “accidentally” come in to contact with certain beings. Beings can and will appear to you even if you have not set up your summoning circle, your conjuration tools, or prepared yourself mentally. Avoid calling things when you are unprepared. Avoid calling anything you cannot deal with (see “never call up what you cannot put down” and “start small”).

You are not always going to immediately see the effects of a conjure gone bad (or good). So you conjure a spirit one day and stuff gets freaky, and you feel uncomfortable. But instead of properly shutting down your ritual and banishing your space, you just get up and walk away. Everything seems okay. Then a month later the water faucet bursts and floods your house. Things start to go missing. You can’t be near your closet without getting a panic attack. You feel the need to sleep with your lights on. Your pets won’t come in to your bedroom any more. If a conjure goes bad, you are not always going to immediately see the effects so you can take care of it immediately. Predator spirits can be very sneaky. They want to creep in to your life and start to take control without you noticing. If a conjure starts to go bad, shut it down properly. Banish to the best of your abilities. Take care of things ASAP. A “wait and see” philosophy does not really work with bad conjures. Likewise, you may not even know things have gone badly until the symptoms start to arise. When stuff starts going wrong, don’t wait – take care of your business. If you read that and say, “how do I take care of my business?” then conjuring is not right for you just yet.

Likewise, suppose you conjure a benevolent spirit to help you out. You may not immediately see the effects of it’s touch of grace. Give things a little time to develop – spirits are not “magic”, they require time to work just like we do!

Start small! Summoning big powerful stuff is not your goal as a beginner. Your goal is to work with safe conjures, get experience in banishment and protection, and learn how to safely work with spirits. Once you’re a big badass conjurer and this post is nothing but a distant memory, then go for those crazy summons. Until then, go for those domesticated animal, baby elemental, plant spirit conjures.

Make a habit of doing things right. During a recent psychic reading, a demon verbally kicked my ass for doing things wrong. It was a bit of a wake-up call. If it’s “only” a reading then I don’t need to protect myself, right? If it’s just a bunny spirit I don’t need a proper circle. But this is the kind of sloppy conjure habits that get people in serious trouble. Realize that the point of protection isn’t for when things go right, as you are expecting – it is for when things go really wrong. My ego tells me I don’t need a circle to conjure a kitty cat. But as a rational conjurer, I should know better. Do things right, even for small conjures. It is worth the effort.

You not being able to sense things does not mean that nothing is happening. One of the messages I am getting more often lately than any other is, “I see visualizations just as you described, but I don’t believe they are real.” Well, they’re real, and your self doubts are not stopping a spirit from wondering why you conjured it just to ignore it. Some spirits are going to take offense to this. I know when I conjure a spirit and then my dog (or something) distracts me, they get pissed off. When you conjure, you are dealing with a real being that had the courtesy to show up to your call. Even if you are not able to sense them, visualize them, etc., they are likely there. With experience you can tell the difference between a failed conjure and your inability to see spirits. Until then, always assume as spirit has shown up, thank it, and send it away correctly.

A spirit being “good” and a spirit being a boot-licker are two different things. I conjure lots of “good” (meaning, not predatory, friendly to humans) spirits that are short-tempered, impatient, and generally unwilling to be a doormat. Even when working with angelic spirits, perhaps the “most good” ones you can find, they get frustrated at me if I am doing something that bothers them. Just like you get irritated when people do things that bother you. Goodness is different than endless patience and a desire to comply to your every whim. Just like there are a multitude of predatory, unfriendly, wants-to-eat-you spirits who present themselves as being ultimately benevolent, sweet, and loving, there are a multitude of good spirits who present themselves honestly and don’t want to put up with your bull.

Use good manners. “Thank you for responding to my call.” “Our time to speak has come to an end, please return to your home with my best wishes.” Pleases and thank-yous go a long way in the spirit world. Don’t neglect good manners.

Major Arcana's Meanings Reversed & Upright With Yes Or No Questions Answered

Tarot is one of the most well known and used types of divination that you can find. Millions every year buy tarot decks and ask for guidance to maneuver this world and often it does not fail to reveal the truth these individuals have been looking for. Today, I’m going to start a series of posts on tarot where I can share the information that I have learned with you. I’m going to begin with the Major Arcana, the trump cards of the tarot deck.  The Major Arcana are the first 22 cards numbered 0-21 in a tarot deck, ranging from the Fool to the World. Many decks may have different artwork, but the symbolism remains the same. The numbers on each card including the Minor Arcana, the remaining 56 cards, have meanings as well. The Major Arcana generally is an indicator of important life events, lessons or milestones. For those of you arguing Hekate was not a triple goddess. Hopefully this brings some clarification.

Hey just wanted to pop in and say historically hekate isn't a triple goddess. That's like a wicca/neopagan thingy, not a hellenic thingy

She is a triple goddess but not a triple MOON goddess! In ancient Greek statuary and poetry, she is often depicted with either three bodies or three heads, largely related to her position as goddess of the crossroads. (x) It was never a maiden-mother-crone thing, though, that part is a Wiccan/neopagan thing that gets projected onto her but isn't historically backed. The Days of the Week & their uses in magic

Hey everyone! I wanted to make a post on planetary magic/utilizing the days of the week in one's practice, so here we are. :) I've mentioned before that I meditate during the planetary hours of the ruling day, and I want to share a little of what I have learned through these meditations. Information about planetary hours and the planets themselves is readily available online, but I'm all about taking the time to understand what it means to me on a personal level.

Monday - ruled by the moon, which governs our insides, intuition, emotional state, and so on. Regardless of what planet rules your natal chart (which you should find out!), we as people feel the moon's energy strongly as she governs the tides and we are 70% water. Monday is a good day to do inner work and healing work. Out of all the days of the week, I feel the most relaxed and at ease when I meditate on Monday during a lunar hour.

Tuesday - Mars, baby! I'm a child of Mars and Pluto: born on Tuesday, Scorpio Stellium of Mars, Venus, ASC, and Pluto, so this is the planet that has a very active role in my life and I make a point to track its transits. We associate Mars with war, aggression, and energy, but it is also a planet of guidance. Mars will tell you if you're on the right path for yourself or stumbling towards trouble. Out of all the days of the week, I make sure to meditate on Tuesdays because of the downloads I receive from Mars. The boundless energy of Mars makes Tuesday a good day for general workings and finding lost items if Thursday isn't available for whatever reason.

Wednesday - ruled by Mercury, the messenger of the gods. Rules language, communication, divination and oracles. Wednesday during a Mercury hour is the best time to consult the ancestors, conduct divination, or seek out a diviner/oracle. It may be harder to receive said communication during Mercury retrograde, however.

Thursday - ruled by Jupiter, which governs luck, manifestation, expansion, and magic. It's a good day to do work involving abundance, money, and magical workings in general. Doubly so if working during Jupiter's hours.

Friday - ruled by Venus, which governs love, beauty, communication, war, and purification. Friday is a good day for banishing, return-to-sender, love work, protection, etc. It's also a good day to start breaking bad habits.

Saturday - ruled by Saturn, the governor of death, karma, labor, discipline, and the Crone. Saturn's day is a great day to get in touch with the divine feminine, whether it's through working with deities if that's your thing, or meditating during Saturn's hour. I've found that Saturn is very communicative and that it's easier to receive her messages. Perhaps because we're in the Aquarian Age, of which she rules.

Sunday - ruled by the sun, the culmination of the planets. The sun governs the ego and external self. We're in a solar system and revolve around the sun, hence Sunday giving access to all of the planetary energies but to a lesser degree. I like this day for meditation especially, but you can utilize the all-encompassing energy for everything else mentioned above.

remember that no one has the same path, you might have people who have very similar ones, but you won't have the exact same one

know your boundaries, you don't need to interact with every post, especially posts that make you upset

people telling you that you're doing your path wrong don't know any better than you, they are not an authority on you (please note: this does not include closed practices or cultural appropriation)

people are going to have different experiences with spirits and deities and that's 100% okay

just because your path is lesser known doesn't make it less valid

when educating yourself, look for posts with sources and check the sources out

opinions are opinions, not facts

facts are facts, not opinions

people often stop believing in science because they are going through hard times that have led them feeling scared with reality, so it's best not to attack them, if you want to say something make your own post and don't tag them

if whatever someone believes isn't harming themselves or innocent people, just let them believe it, you can even think it's fucking dumb just keep it to yourself
