Yeah okay so like I said in the tags of the last post I’m rising from my tumblr grave to say that the ban on TikTok is symptomatic of a MUCH larger and more terrifying problem. Because yes, on its surface it’s silly dances and asmr and cooking videos and whatever, but in truth and at its core, TikTok single-handedly revolutionized the way 170 million Americans communicated with each other AND the rest of the world. Non-Americans love to point out how America-centric Americans are, but fail to realize that we are purposefully raised in an isolated, insulated environment where we are told from basically day 1 that America Is The Best and not to even bother taking a look around because it’s all downhill from outside of here. TikTok has, for MANY Americans, single-handedly destroyed that notion and allowed them (us!!) to broaden our world-view and realize that actually, things are better in other countries, and it did so in a kind, empathetic, and compassionate way.

And yeah most people wake up to the truth of that on their own as they get older, but holy shit!! The VAST majority of the Americans on TikTok are millennials and gen z (and even some older gen alpha)!! People who are becoming disillusioned with “The American Dream” (said with the HEAVIEST sarcasm) while they’re still school-aged or are just entering young-adulthood!! People who are entering - or TRYING to enter - the American workforce who suddenly have an unfiltered window into non-American lives and are wondering why tf we’re struggling and penny-pinching and toeing the line of poverty while our rich elected officials sit around and fight and argue over everything that actually matters to the citizens they supposedly represent and get richer all the while. THAT is why they’re banning the app, and that fact alone should terrify every single American citizen.

Not to mention the precedent it sets for other social media platforms!! You think some nebulous, unproven, and unfounded “threat to national security” will stop with TikTok?? They’ve already censored Adult Material on tumblr, who’s gonna stop them from coming back and doing it again or getting rid of it altogether for the exact same reason? It’s a blatant act of censorship and a direct attack on the American first amendment right to free speech.

NOTHING radicalized me the way tiktok did. I watched people in my life who were STAUNCH Trump supporters in 2016 AND 2020 wake up to the truth and vote blue for the first time in their lives BECAUSE OF TIKTOK, and did so with al the nuanced understanding that even Democrats are severely failing this country, but are at least better than the alternative. That level of awareness and presence in the average US citizen scares American politicians.

The fact that the vast majority of them - including the ones loudly opposing the ban!! - bought stock in Meta BEFORE the ban was legalized/upheld by the Supreme Court?? That Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk were legally allowed to lobby congress to ban TikTok when BOTH stood to DIRECTLY financially gain from their biggest competitor being banned in the US and are guilty of unethically gathering data and selling it to MULTIPLE third parties?? The fact that Trump is now teasing that he may or may not intervene to save TikTok when he was the one who talked about banning it in the first place AND ALSO OWNS HIS OWN COMPETING SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM??

It’s the burning of Alexandria. It’s the loss of a significant chunk of culture. It’s the sharp and sudden loss of contact with the rest of the world for more than half of all American citizens. It’s the loss of $240 BILLION dollars in the GDP when the country is already TRILLIONS of dollars in debt. And on an individualistic level, it’s the loss of millions of small businesses and primary income streams for so many individuals and families who found their primary audience on TikTok. Is the app perfect? HELL no. Are there significant changes needed to make it a safe environment for all users? ABSOLUTELY. But that can also be said of ANY social media platform. TikTok openly fostered connection and communication and creativity and compassion that is completely unique to that platform! It made so many people - myself included!! - feel less alone. I get the feeling I know what the general consensus is about TikTok on this site, but the ban on this app should scare the shit out of everyone.

Look don’t get me wrong I love the PJO TV show. The cast is perfect and some moments that were added I absolutely loved. But… there are some things I felt were so well done in the book there was no need to change it and I’m a little disappointed by the adaptation’s version.

Some of these takes I saw from other people and it put into words what I was feeling so I’m just expanding on what they said.

1. Gabe could’ve been worse. We are supposed to get mean Smelly Gabe vibes and Sally isn’t supposed to feel comfortable standing up to him. I understand “girl boss” and disneys restrictions but it still wasn’t great. I’m hoping they add something towards the end so his murder feels deserved.

2. Sally felt off. Like they read her plot points but didn’t understand her character. She is wholesome and kind and devoted to Percy. The Sally we know never would’ve put that much pressure on Grover, plus him putting the pressure on himself is vital to his character. They also made her seemingly pine for Poseidon. They shouldn’t have changed the way she described him and the choices she made to keep Percy safe.

3. We should’ve gotten Percy remembering the warm glow of Poseidon. It was important that Poseidon broke the rules and came to see Percy when he was a baby.

4. Percy thinking that Annabeth looked like a goddess when he first saw her was so important to the way he viewed her. They included voiceover, they could’ve included that.

5. They should’ve kept Luke as the one to guide Percy around the camp, but Annabeth should’ve been part of welcoming scenes. And Grover should’ve been the one to tell the story of Thalia.

6. The claiming in the book was perfect! There was no reason to change the dialogue or have the trident not be the way it’s originally described. And seeing the campers reactions/having them bow down was important. I was underwhelmed tbh.

7. Percy is SMART! He was the one to put together that Sally was alive and agree to the quest in order to get her back. There was no reason for Grover to be the one to do it.

Otherwise it was wonderful. I still love it immensely and the care into the heart of the show I feel is still there. I can’t wait for next week!

Possible Alternative SPN ending including a huge crossover

Okay, so it has already been established that the multiverse exists in the SPN universe, there is reasonable evidence to support it in the Lucifer Morningstar universe, since he was able to create a tear in space and time for his mother, the strong ties between Lucifer and Good Omens in which it is theorized that Good Omens is set in the universe that Lucifer’s mother went to, and Stranger Things deal with the whole Upside Down business, in which the universe is said to be like a spiderweb, with the Upside Down being the other side of the string, but also saying that there are other strings as well. Going forth with this knowledge, it can be theorized that all of these universes can exist at the same time. Supernatural has confirmed that you can make an opening into another universe, and Eleven can close the tears between worlds. With also the Flaming sword from Lucifer and Good Omens being able to tear a hole in space and time. If the head cannon that Lucifer and Good Omens are directly connected is assumed to be true, Aziraphale and Crowley have access to the sword, and Lucifer can use it to tear a hole in space and time. If Sam, Dean, Cas and Jack were able to travel to the other universes before Chuck destroyed them all, and assuming they were somehow able to be aware of thses other three specific universes, maybe with the whole French Mistake kind of thing where those three universe were tv shows in the SPN world, and went to each of these three universes and brought Lucifer, Aziraphale, Crowley, and Eleven from these universes, them they might have been able to trap Chuck in his own separate universe while he was injured, therefore trapping him and now tipping the balance between light and dark. Jack and Lucifer could open the tears, using Aziraphale and Crowley’s sword, and then Jack and Eleven could team up to close the tear before Chuck was able to get out. 

Anyway that is just my multi-fandom team up/crossover I thought would have been awesome. Plus just having all of those characters and their personalities in one room and working together would both be epic and the most chaotic experience ever.

Not half of the universe, but half of the original avengers. Nat, Tony, and Steve are dead becuase of him. He may not have killed half of everyone's universe, but he killed half of our original universe.

Ok, so Sam and Dean has the anti possesion tattoos to prevent possesions, but we know that some demons could just rip off or damage the tattoos to the point of them not working, right? So what if the boys just got secret devil trap tattoos on somewhere that is hidden from view, then if a demon tries to posses them, boom. They can't move cause of the devils trap. They can set an alarm on their phone to go off once a day everyday that the ring tone is an excorsism. Then when the demon can't move due to the devils trap, the alarm will go off, saying the excorsism and excorsizing the demon and solving the problem.

I’m okay with bibros preferring Jared/Sam and Jensen/Dean. That’s not what I have an issue with. Especially when I prefer Misha/Cas. What I have a problem with is the bibros that hate on Misha. Misha has literally had a hand in saving people’s lives. He uses his platform for good. And I haven’t been able to see a single negative bibro come up with a legitimate reason as to why they hate Misha. It literally makes me sick that there are people that go out of their way to try to make him feel bad when he’s such a positive presence in the world.

On the flip side, I also hate when Destiel/Cockles shippers hate on Jared. It works both ways. The cast of Supernatural have done so many good, pure things for the world. They don’t deserve hate. They deserve love, appreciation, and support.
