Life finds a way.

I discovered a burrow of Ohares while I was clearing rubble out of what used to be the temple’s botanical gardens. They’ve probably been living in the tunnels beneath, eating roots, undisturbed for almost two decades...

I know there must be a colony, the Ohare I found was just a baby. I didn’t touch it, but it saw me, perked up its ears, fluffed up the ridge of fur down its back, stomped, squawked, and ran off. I think I’m the first living thing it’s seen in a long time.

...I hope there are more of them. Ohares are supposed to be a symbol of good luck and fertility. Both of those things are more than welcome during Azarath’s reconstruction...

I've had this little idea in my head for a while now, so I decided to sit down and plot it out.

Disclaimer: This isn't meant to be some sort of One-Worksheet-Fits-All situation. This is meant to be a visual representation of some type of story planning you could be doing in order to develop a plot!

Lay down groundwork! (Backstory integral to the beginning of your story.) Build hinges. (Events that hinge on other events and fall down like dominoes) Suspend structures. (Withhold just enough information to make the reader curious, and keep them guessing.)

And hey, is this helps... maybe sit down and write a story! :)

The world exists in such a baffling state of simultaneous sex-aversion and sex-hegemony. Every social platform on the internet is trying to banish sex workers to the shadow realm but I can't post a tweet without at least two bots replying P U S S Y I N B I O. People are self-censoring sex to seggs and $3× but every other ad you see is still filled with half-naked women. Rightwingers want queer people arrested for so much as existing in the same postal code as a child and are also drumming up a moral panic about how teenage boys aren't getting laid enough. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

More Ohares today, more young ones. It must just be the cycle of their breeding season where the adolescents come to the surface to learn how to scavenge in the daylight.

I got so caught up in watching them that it was almost two hours later by the time I realized that I needed to get back to work. I’m... so happy to see them thriving. I brought some sod today, as well as fertilizer and grass seeds so I can plant at least something for them to eat that isn’t mostly dried weeds.

I need to try and find a compendium of Azarathian animals, to make sure I can bring in plants that won’t make them sick.
