feel like a lot of my thoughts about not getting enough notes or whatever on a drawings can be dissolved by just accepting that art of the Game (its plot, events, etc) will pop off more than some self indulgent sketch. people will like things they can recognize, which i was aware of but i just thought that my art would reach the fandom people, yk the ones who are not just attached to the story but the characters too. so making recognizable art of the game wouldn't matter bc it would instead be of the characters

but the thing is, making Serious art of the game is tough. it's hard coming up with ideas, and who knows if the process is gonna be fun or extremely grueling. and on top of that, what hasn't been done so far? every idea has been drawn, been brought to life. the game is like 8 years old now. i kinda don't wanna draw more "Mountain. Blood. Snow. Ugly winter outfits" anymore lol. i mean sometimes i do bc i love the game obviously but when i wanna have fun, i'll tend to do other things that kinda combine with my own personal interests. so like fashion for example, i'll take the characters and dress them up. that's me having fun.

i want to think and Know that people understand this concept, but it feels like they don't? maybe they do. i know for a fact my mutuals do, because you are all very supportive of every silly josh doodle i make lol i appreciate it a lot 🤗 you guys are the kind of people i make this art for, the Character Likers. because i myself am someone who will attach to the characters more than like, the story. which isn't to say i just disregard the source material, that's not it at all, but for me regarding UD, imma be honest yall... i do not give a fuck abt the creature lore in the game at all. i don't care abt billy bates and whatnot. it's fine if you do, but me personally ehhh i don't care much abt that part of the story

i really like the characters out of all of this, i like certain dynamics, dialogue, etc. and i love the story too, and especially love when the story involves the characters (which i think the sanitarium segments doesn't really do? it kinda just gives insight on the 1950s mine incident and shjt) but i like the parts of the story relating to the twins. bc those are characters and they kinda haunt the narrative.

speaking of the narrative, it's part of the reason i like josh. he doesn't haunt the narrative but he controls it a lot id say. he's a very captivating character, very compelling. you want a lot out of him, like what's wrong, why is he doing this, why did he say that, blah blah. i honestly love characters that are attractive in this way, even to other characters in the story. so sam and chris for example. i enjoy the dynamic they have with josh because they're worried about him, they're thinking about him, or they want to know if he's okay, what's up with him and all that. he holds their attention like that, and ofc that led to ships and stuff. i feel like ashley's actress said it best when describing josh: "you think he's one way but then he's another"

which is honestly just so fucking true. you think he's dead, then he's not, you think he's okay but then he's not, you think he might live but he doesn't. he's even like that personality wise i'd say, but that's teetering onto like headcanon territory just somewhat. because sam does say "it's hard to tell with him" but that's mostly bc of the incident with the twins, she can't Tell if he's okay or barely hanging on. josh is hard to pin down, he's Complex, as stated in the game

sorry for getting into a little josh analysis there but since he is an important character (in general) to me, i kinda felt the need. because this also goes into my gripes about people not really getting why i draw him the way i do. j know i won't shut up about this, but i just Want everyone to know, bc i feel as though it was part of the reason why i wasn't really interacted with for as long as i've been a part of this fandom. like nobody really understood what i was doing, but it was really just simple fun. i mean, now i've completely given up hope with ever really Connectinf with the fandom, but i just want this off my chest honesrly lol

like i really don't want to keep drawing josh one way. like i said i wanna have fun so that's what i do. i can't really "make an him an oc" because i don't change anything about his story or writing. putting him in a silly outfit doesn't make him eligible for "original characterification" lol. so that's what i mean by i make a lot my art for the fandom people, the ones who like the game for more than its story, people who like making headcanons, people who like writing for the game, etc

and the reason i do it a lot is bc of what i said before. making art of the game is tough, it's a lot of thinking. what Hasn't been done already? not much lol. so i'll just keep sketching the silly stuff and sharing it with cool ppl who kinda get what i'm doing 👍

but i definitely will make art of the game and not just the characters, i'll make art more recognizable to the average player because guess what. that's also what i like. it just takes a long time for me because Serious art has a lot of thinking and planning behind it and is just very time consuming in general. but oh, josh in a skirt? took two minutes and i can just close my ipad and not worry about anything else lol

okay so i’m going into this event basically being sus of everyone at this point LMAO, i don’t even trust our boys tbh - anything could happen and i’m excited! everytime there’s a big event i always am like “ugh… not another one i have to drain energy into and it isn’t even that interesting” (respectfully). like the last one on the train? i didn’t really care much about it, the only things that interested me were nxx being all up on eachother (exaggerating)

basically i prepare myself to be disappointed, which might sound messed up but tbh the events have only been hittin recently (for me) because of the fact that they’re not having nxx be at eachother’s throats lol. (not saying the past ones weren’t good though and that none of the recent ones were a miss bc again, i didnt fully enjoy the train event)

this one already had me though 😭 got me gagged, the ui is so fucking cool - the card system?? the OUTFITS make me wanna CHOMP my phone (esp luke’s… smth- smth abt it is just. hm, delectable). also baby davis always appearing is so cute his little “hello, miss… uh, i mean, little boss!” LMAO that is my son!!!

ANYGAYS we always have to start off with Marius talking about something going on ‘round town, intended to invite his lovely lady but of course the boys have to interrupt and say hey, where is our invitation??? 🤗 you love to see it

And one of the ways he feels he can be the most helpful is with food. When Liz's cravings hit her hard, Red prefers to retrieve her sought-after foods himself or - only if it's too far away that he doesn't want to leave her or she asks him not to - then he sends a trusted someone like Dembe or Baz, both of whom he knows will meticulously check the order for everything Liz wants before they make the return journey. Red also tries his best to obtain pregnancy-safe versions of the foods & drinks Liz can't have. He flies in specially-made sushi from Japan with no raw fish, orders her favorite caffeine-free imitation sodas from the internet (with Dembe's help), & buys mocha-flavored candies to quench her coffee-cravings. However, his favorite food-related act of love is cooking for her himself, much preferring to oversee the safe preparation of all the ingredients - carefully steering clear of anything that makes her nauseous - & lovingly putting together a plate for her with hearts drawn on the plate in sauces & gravy bc he's a total sap, who are we kidding

Red's favorite part of Lizzie's pregnancies (bc they FOR SURE have more than one baby together, I will NOT be taking questions at this time) is how her body changes. She is beautiful to him in any & every form & pregnancy is no exception at all. He makes a point to worship her body - growing & stretching & so gracefully accommodating his child - especially when she complains of "not feeling pretty anymore". He provides endless foot rubs, back massages, & jumps at the chance to apply lotion to her itchy, stretched skin. And, of course, he takes the most joy in pleasuring her in bed, trying his best to give her tired, aching body all the relief & joy he can. i'm predictable & i don't care 😏

Lastly, the only thing Red loves more than cooking for Lizzie or worshiping her body... is talking & reading to their unborn baby. From the moment Lizzie feels the first flutter, not a day goes by when Red doesn't press his hands to her tummy & murmur to their child, hoping to earn a wiggle or kick for his troubles. The day Lizzie grabs his hand & presses it to her side, trying not to get her hopes up that he'll finally be able to feel the tiny kick from inside her, only to see his eyes widen in amazement & quickly fill up with tears is a day she'll never forget. From that moment on, Red is touching & kissing her belly at every opportunity, talking to the baby quietly - assuring it how much he loves it & its mother - & ordering nearly every children's book ever published to read to it at night time, often managing to soothe both the baby & Lizzie to sleep. The baby responds to his voice from that very first day, always the most active when Red is close & reading in a low tone & Red keeps a hand on her belly to try & accurately judge which books are the baby's favorites, making Liz roll her eyes fondly & mutter that Red is spoiling their baby before it's even born, while she's not-so-secretly happier than she's ever been, tears always sliding down her cheeks as she watches Red interact so lovingly with their baby.

"Don't you have a mission tomorrow? Just go to sleep, I'll finish the movie by myself."

"Don't be silly," He answered, lifting his head from your lap. "I want to stay up with you."

You pat his head back down as he rests in your touch again. You just sigh. "Alright. Nothing I say gets though that head of yours anyways." You muttered the last part more quietly, as Dazai chuckles.

Despite the movie still going on, you don't pay attention to the screen at all. As you pat his hair and play with it, you study his face, the only source of light from the brightness of the television screen.

The small curves that make his face, his dark brown eyes fixed on the screen, and the concentrated expression he makes as he watches.

"What's the point of watching if you'll only be looking at me, darling?" You snap out of your trance, hiding the blush creeping onto your cheeks. Dazai reaches to the remote, turning off the screen.

Shifting in his position with his head on your lap so that he sees you and the ceiling, he watches your face as he smirks. "I know, I know. I was much more attractive than that stupid actor on T.V. You don't need to tell me, dear."

You grinned. "Of course you were, Dazai. Much more handsome than any actor. Because..." You trail your finger down his jawline teasingly. "...you're the one I love."

He looks back at you curiously, surprised by your reply. He snaps back to his normal smile again, taking your hand and brings it to his cheek. "The one you love, you say? How romantic."

He just gives a sly smile, trying not to laugh.

You take a nearby pillow, smacking him. "Oh, for goodness' sake, wake up!"

"But- you said I was the one you loved, Y/N!" He cried as you get up from the couch, Dazai landing onto the floor with a big thud.

"Goodness, I can't believe I tried to be serious for once..." You try to leave, not before Dazai grasps your hand, pulling you down as you land on top of him.

He holds you there, as he closes his eyes. He buries his head in your hair, breathing in the scent of your shampoo. "You smell so lovely, my love."

You don't answer, returning his embrace as he explores your hair, tangling himself with it and playing with it as you just sigh at his touch
