We were recently re-introduced to this fun little piece of soulbonding history! The soulbonding code, which is like the multiple code but for soulbonders specifically. We might make an updated version of it :3

We decided to try it out so here's ours along with the explanation under the cut!

We have around 30-40 soulbonds.

We're collectively non binary and have a majority of other/non-binary soulbonds with a few female ones as well.

We have soulbonds from original stories; several anime/cartoon characters from alternate universes, fan characters, and a crossover univrse; more than one from comic books/manga; more than one from alternative universes of video games and one fan character.

We have several bonds of other species. The bonder is a fairy, and they have a ghost bond, more than one supernatural bond, more than one alien, dragons that are different from common ideas, undead bonds, and shapeshifters.

Our bonds have a pretty active role in our life.

We decided to skip the fandom bits in the code- partially because our opinion of roleplaying is too complicated for what the code offers and because we're a bit more interested in the soulbonding specific stuff. We did do the last two things though, which were art and writing!

We do art quite a bit and post it, and we occasionally write stories- we mostly daydream them though.

hellooo i'm pretty new to pds, been questioning if i have one (or more) myself, and I'm wondering what are the labels like covert/overt? Seen posts against it while others still use the terms. I'm wondering if the usage of categorizing ur own pd is overall harmful or easier for diagnosis/learning more of pds.

heyo! covert and overt are labels people use to describe the presentation of the symptoms of their disorders, basically meaning wether or not their symptoms are outwardly noticable to other people or if they're more internalized and harder to spot.

i personally don't have much of a problem with the labels, but i believe the main issue a lot of people have with the labels (particularly i've seen a lot of criticism of quiet bpd aka covert bpd) is at times it can come off as having a sense of superiority for having a more covert presentation?

the concern is valid and i do feel like people should watch themselves and how they're speaking about people with more overt and visible symptoms, but i don't see anything inherently wrong with the covert/overt dichotomy itself other than. well. not everyone will fit into it neatly i guess🤷‍♂️

Where do I even begin hmmm

I do have a post here which highlights some of my canon-divergent/au thoughts, but putting those aside in favor of canon rationale— they just have a lot of potential.

Basically the idea came to me like a fever dream well over a year ago— it occurred to me that Pei Xiu was born and raised in the crumbling outskirts of the formerly glorious Yong’an. Considering Lang Qianqiu was born/ascended during Yong’an’s peak, it didn’t feel out of place to think that Pei Xiu may have heard stories of the prince who unified the kingdom and ascended to greatness. So from there it’s fun to imagine Pei Xiu eventually ascending and getting to meet the hero of those stories. Lang Qianqiu is so genuine and sincere and he absolutely radiates a heroic spirit that I think it could shake Pei Xiu’s stoic disposition— especially considering Pei Xiu’s still dealing with his own guilt regarding the Banyue Pass.

And THEN!! There’s the way they have so much potential for crossing paths in the mortal realm when Pei Xiu is in exile and Lang Qianqiu is tracking down Qi Rong— not to mention Pei Xiu has already engaged with Qi Rong to an extent— I think there’s a lot the two could talk about around a campfire (maybe work out some of their tangled up thoughts and feelings while they’re at it). I just think they could be complimentary and offer each other a lot of insight for their troubles.

There’s idolization and reverence! There’s shared history! There’s nuance!

BONUS: snippets of canon that I think are fun to play with in the qianxiu cinematic universe:

The fact that Lang Qianqiu answers every spiritual array communication and speaks with other officials equally— regardless of if they rank below him.

Pei Xiu is said to be an incredibly skilled swordsman and— even though he’s only a middle court official— his skills surpass Lang Qianqiu’s.

Both of them have a common Xie Lian Role Model past that deeply impacted their mortal lives.

Sure, almost all of this is based on behind the scenes hypotheticals, but that’s what makes it such a fun rarepair— there’s creative liberties to take! Plus the more I think on it the more I feel like mxtx really missed an opportunity to play in this space so I’m doing it instead. Big fan of a ship involving a righteous prince and a general fallen from grace hehe
