chuuya wakes up and doesn’t know his own birthday. he doesn’t even know what a birthday is but he gets taken in by the sheep and they celebrate each others birthdays and chuuya also gets his own day just for himself. it might not be his real birthday but it’s his and it shows he’s part of the group until he isn’t anymore but hey at least he still has the memory of past belonging and celebrations and while it might have a bitter aftertaste now he can still keep this one thing for himself and maybe even share it with his new friends

until the flags show him his birth records and oh maybe this is finally the proof of his humanity. but his new (his real?) birthday is different from the one he was given by the sheep and what does it mean that this one thing that was undoubtedly his and shows that he once used to belong to the sheep is now being replaced by this new birthday?

but before chuuya can even ask himself all of this verlaine arrives and suddenly his friends are gone and chuuya doesn’t even know who he is anymore and he might never find out if he’s even actually human or just a simple lab experiment. until he finally gets his hands on his files and there it says he is human or at least the possibility of it is quite high but chuuya can never be 100% sure.

and if he can never be really sure that he isn’t actually the clone is this new birthday even actually his birthday or did he steal it from a now dead kid who never got to leave the lab? is his real birthday not maybe actually the day the scientists created him as a weapon to be used?

I think it’s crazy actually that people think it’s impossible for Chuuya to trick Fyodor without Fyodor having to be dumber for it. Especially when a popular theory was that after the drowning Chuuya had begun faking it, why is it so hard to believe he’d just been faking it the entire time?

This doesn’t even touch on how it’s been SUCH a LOUD point throughout mersault that Fyodor has hugely underestimated Soukoku. So, by obvious extension that would include Chuuya too if not more so than Dazai seeing as he insinuated multiple times that Chuuya was Dazai’s tool rather than equal partner.

I hc that fem Chūya, and Dazai are at least 5 centimeters taller than their male counterparts in 15.

I think fem Dazai would grow up to be 175 cms or something, and Chūya would stop at 158 cms. They keep their scary height difference because it's entertaining.

Females hit their growth spurts earlier than most males, and they ultimately stop growing at the age of 18 or even before that. Men stop growing at around 21, which means that Chūya might've grown a millimeter or so while Dazai was gone.

I saw a post that made me think of a universe where skk are a truly happy couple. A world where they talk things out, and gain a better understanding of each other. A timeline where sure, they still banter and get on each other's nerves, but lovingly. A reality where they can be soft, and domestic, and not fight or resent each other.

the thing about fem!dazai is that she would not look like that. she would wear the same exact outfits she wears in canon. she would not wear makeup. she would grow out her hair only because she's too lazy to cut it, and she would rarely actually brush it. (the messy look is part of my charm ;)) her nails would be bitten and picked at, and if she ever were to wear nail polish, it would have been forced on her by either chuuya or yosano. she wouldn't wear heels because she doesn't like pain. she wouldn't even have her ears pierced because she doesn't like pain. chuuya tried to convince her when they were teenagers and she kept coming up with increasingly absurd excuses for why she couldn't get her ears pierced. she wears socks with flats because it's more comfortable even though chuuya ridicules her endlessly because "don't you know how horrendous that looks". (why are you looking at my feet? dazai retorts is it because you can't see any higher than that?) the only times she's ever dressed up were for undercover missions in the port mafia, and she griped about being uncomfortable in her clothes and shoes and makeup the entire time. she doesn't even look at her reflection, so why would she spend hours curating the perfect look? she just throws one of her three outfits on and goes

I want to do some doodles for the kotlc rewrite but I don’t really have any ideas, so I thought I’d send out a little request opportunity for character drawings/just talking about the au changes being made or just anything really???

(For those who don’t know; me and a friend are rewriting koltc to be a YA, with a more traditional fair folk spin on the elves and darker themes)

dazai finding a really really fucking tall (plastic) flower and giving it to chuuya for his birthday, like: “happy birthday chibi ^_^!! was gonna give u something nice, but i don’t want to give you anything pretty… and then i found this, and thought—chuuya wouldn’t be able to see the pretty part (the flower) of this anyway, and i still seem super sweet!<3”

and chuuya looks up, squinting to where a small flower is perched on the very fucking long stem … (anyway it broke because apparently it can’t withstand hitting a human skull several times at light speed…sorry, dazai)

Aya might be part of the next generation of Sokuku

okay hear me out! The sokuku line as I’ve been calling it consists of Fukuzawa-Mori

So who will be next?

I think Aya and another new character/maybe a pre existing one. Take another look at the Sokuku line. Mori mentored Dazai (And Chyūa to some extent I think?) who in turn Mentored Akutagawa and Atsushi both are yet to mentor anybody*

If we take this into consideration this shows a pattern of Sokuku gifted (yes I'm calling them that because I have no other name for it) mentoring each other. Now we do know that Sokuku is probably pretty rare of an ability, (and its more of a power enhancer than its own stand alone ability) so it makes sense that the former sokuku member(s) might be (Unintentionally or Intentionally) seeking out the next in the line. Now we still don't know who came before Fuku and Mori, and how they met, but the sokuku line sets a clear pattern of how the members meet their mentors/mentees, all (Except Chūya) mentors met their mentees who were either starving, in severe pain, or had some sort of issue. Think about how Akutagawa met Aya. Bram died infront of Aya, and for her the world is ending due to Amenogozen. Aya is saved by Aku and is presumably going to be taken in by him. Why do I point this out? Because Aya might be next in line for Sokuku, if Aku mentors Aya the cycle will continue. Also if this happens we could see Aku stoping the line abuse on his side! The idea of Aya having an ability is great, but there is one twist idea to this, what if instead of staying with the ADA, Aya stayed with the Port under Aku’s care. Aya was entrusted to Aku by Bram, and as much as I love Kunikidad I don’t think he’s who Aya will end up staying with. Another thing to note is Aya was also abused physically and verbally by her father (and maybe her mother idk) but point is that almost all Sokuku users have come from Abuse or abusive places. Their pain and repressed emotions, I think may tie into how powerful their abilities are. I think this is enough evidence to safely say that Aya might be next in line for Sokuku!

now remember the asterisk I put after I said that Atsushi and Aku don’t have apprentices, well that was partially untrue, Aku and Atsushi kind of both mentored Kyouka a little, Atsushi more but Aku did do something. Why is Kyouka important now? Well she could also be next in line for Sokuku, Kyouka lived with the port (which was extremely abusive) for at least a few months, and was found by Atsushi/maybe Aku before Atsushi. Kyouka matches a lot of the criteria and the patterns that previous Sokuku gens had.

Now to address the idea that we might have a new character brought in for Sokuku. This would/could make sense, but with the massive cast BSD already boasts I really hope two already introduced characters get Sokuku.

This is all to say that I think Kyouka or a new character and Aya may be the next Sokuku generation, with Aku mentoring Aya, and Atsushi mentoring Kyouka or a new Charcter.

Regarding some sskk-skk paralels and an interesting fact

So it is evident to me that all the zskk!-sskk!-skk! have one part of the couple being morally the “dark.” And the other being morally the “light” (Physically: also one is offensive attack and the other is defensive attack/this is not what I want to talk about tho)

But what I want to point back to the “Light” “Dark” concept. And here it becomes tricky:

Well, obviously Fukuzawa is light (his mindset is light and his position in the story is light.) Chuuya however, (his mindset is light, but his position in the story is dark.) And lastly, Atsushi (mindset light, position light.)

With Mori (mindset dark, position in the story dark.) Dazai (mindset dark, position in the story light). Akutagawa (mindset dark, position dark.)

And while I say ‘mindset’ I mean POV, morals, their way of connecting/understanding the world they live in, I mean Dazai became what he is today thanks to Oda, but that doesn’t mean his way of seeing the world changed a 100%. Meaning his true self was doing good in the darkness/would have managed to become boss of the portmafia, etc, etc. Maybe what I want to say here, is that to me Dazai is something like what bbcsherlock told bbcmoriarty at one point: “Oh, I may be on the side of the angels, but don't think for one *second* that I am one of them.”

Which takes me to the second point: and here something I wanted to talk about since I started watching BSD! Dazai and his children/sons…

Is plain to me that he has a favorite people. He doesn’t love both sons equally. He favors Atsushi over Akutagawa, greatly.

Why?

(I think it’s unfair because we could even say Akutagawa was there first. Dazai messed him up in the head very badly. Akutagawa loves him almost fanatically while Atsushi loves him normally… I could go on and on in here but you get my meaning.)

And here is where I put my shipper-glasses on (which I had not put in quite a while)

But, it seems really interesting to me…

That Dazai prefers the ‘light’ part of the couple of sskk!, over the ‘dark’ part that would be a direct mirror to himself (He prefers Chuuya’s counterpart and that, that has many meanings but above all, I think... that is poetically beautiful.)

Something I love is that Chuuya is so much like a cat but he’s a dog person and Dazai hates dogs but he’s so much like one himself.
