Buck would react how he is reacting now. They are lessening the firefams importance to Buck by saying he would be more upset if Eddie was there as well, he would be equal amounts upset.

Buck cares about Bobby and Hen and Chimney too.

They have to lessen the importance of the firefam when comparing them with Eddie because otherwise they'd come off as only watching for one character and they can't do that.... that's something they've been putting on Tommy fans for over a year now.
