What's the deal with fanon Tim bc I read some comics with Tim and I've seen him in cartoons but all I see people talk about is "haha coffee addicted nerd who doesn't sleep!" and that just seems weird and wrong. Like my view of Tim has always been "he's a nice and extremely smart guy who sometimes pushes things a bit too far and maybe a bit set in his own ways/Batman's ways" but now I'm not even sure of that because I really haven't read THAT much (mostly seen him in other series) lol

So I understand where the coffee addiction in fanon comes from but Tim's not actually addicted to coffee in the comics. I actually don't recall him mentioning coffee at all. In all honesty I find Tim the funniest of the entire batfamily to read because he's so-he's so wholesomely quirky in a mean way. That's such as awkward way to describe it but reading his comics, you just can't get enough of them because he's just too funny!

At one point he has a massive fever and stuck underground with a bunch of weird kids and one of the girls is just like "please get better, please get some rest!" as she's wiping away his sweat and Tim has like no breath or energy at this point. But with the last remains of will power, he uses his breath to push one last question between lips.

But Tim overall is just like a normal kid. He's what authors tried to do with Stephanie but failed. They were able to make him relatable to the audience because the way he acts, it's so quirky but funny. Yes, he's a boy detective genius but he likes messing with people, he likes solving crime, he likes hanging out with his big brother, he asks for relationship advice, he can get insecure, he can get upset without acting cold, he gets tired, he gets anxious, he's determined, and he's super dorky.

This scene is probably what explains him best. Tim is someone who ponders a lot. He thinks constantly all the time whether it's about cases or his personal life, he just goes over the choices he makes constantly because he's just soul-searching alot.

He always means well even if he's awkward about it and he's just a diverse personality overall. The fanon interpretation of his character doesn't really do him any justice because it doesn't address how funny he is or confused or just a likeable, real person in general.

my unhinged laurance zvahl headcanons 🫠

- Laurance has a BUNCH of ear piercings. Candenza made him swear not to get any facial piercings, and she's one of the only people he listens to. He did get a belly button piercing to spite her tho :)

- He has a lot of nervous ticks. He used to play with his hair when it was long, but when Cadenza cut it, he started cracking his knuckles and picking at his nailbeds. When Aphmau notices him doing this, she lets him play with her hair.

- GARRANCEMAU. POLYCULE. It was kind of unspoken for a while, and then Garroth got left behind in the Irene Dimension. So, Laurance and Aph got really close. However, nothing was official so she got with Aaron. Laurance and Garroth only ever realized after he had died. Garroth understood, he knew that the polycule wasn't too serious. However, Laurance on the other hand, didn't understand that. Plus, he was dealing with the calling and whatnot. There was a rift in the relationship for a while after that.

- All of the kids in the village love Laurance. I mean, we know he was one of Malachai's biggest role models, and Laur had also grown attached to him. But, he also kinda becomes Naoki (Nekoette but less problematic) and Dmitri's babysitter. He's always been good with kids, but MY IRENE he cannot handle Naoki. Leona also likes to hang around him, as well.

- Laurance used to have a fascination with fire when he was little. (i mean the man has adhd and u know how we r with fire.) He would stare at it for hours. It was the only thing that really calmed his brain. But now, he can't stand it. He can stay near a fire for warmth of course, but he's never the one to start or feed it. He can't look at it anymore. Too many memories. The fire is literally a part of him now. His new body was forged from it. There's no need to stare into the flames. He just has to look in the mirror.

- He's still blind, somewhat. His eyesight wasn't miraculously healed. He has to wash his face in the fountain of Lady Irene every so often, or his vision will completely blur. Even then, there's still spots that never go away, mostly on the outer field of his vision. He has reading glasses, as well.

- He's very physically affectionate. He plays with Aphmau's hair. He grazes over Garroth's hands constantly, running his thumb on all the marks in his palm or his scarred knuckles. When he was younger, he would always find something to fiddle with on Cadenza's clothes.

- He would model for Cadenza a lot. Before becoming a Shadow Knight, he was very comfortable in his body and his masculinity, so playing dress up was honestly very fun.

- Laurance always has to do something with his hands, so he takes up a lot of different crafts. Tying knots, woodcarving (thank you @xerith-42 for that one lmao), making jewelry. (In my hc my OC taught him how to make jewelry, but we don't have to get into that now haha)

- Laurance has Brazilian heritage, and even though he was an orphan, there's a large Brazilian population in Meteli and he was raised around the culture. Hayden kept Laurance very informed on his roots, and in turn Cadenza got to experience all of this as well. (I wanna go into this further at some point but I want to do the proper research first.)

- Since SKs don't need as much sleep, most nights Laurance just wanders Phoenix Drop. That's why he's usually the first to know when something's wrong.

- Before Laurance became an official guard, he was sort of a... vigilante. Bringing justice in the dead of night type beat. When he was younger, in his early teens, there was a high crime rate in Meteli. So, if Laurance saw someone stealing, or trying to break in somewhere, he'd tie them up and leave them outside the guard station for the authorities to deal with them.

Yes, of course! This is really fun to do, thanks for the ask :) I haven't read the manga so this is totally based off the anime! This is going to be long, so bear with me haha

Itadori Yuji

Yuji has a great sense of morality and has well defined values. He will fight for what he believes is right and will treat someone like they would treat him which I think is why he can make friends really easily. He is quite popular in high school, everyone knows him and knows he's strong. Yuji is not really flashy, but people remember him, and acknowledge him.

More than that, even if he's popular he doesn't conform to anything, he can interact with different types of groups, not being scared of his social status and only following his instincts. His open-minded nature makes people warm up to him right away. We can see that with his friendships with Megumi and Nobara. Megumi immediately has a soft spot for Yuji, his shining personality and his sense of justice strike him. He knows that Yuji is a good person and he is so convinced of it that he asked Gojo to spare him. Nobara seems to find Yuji annoying at first, but they quickly get along and she mourns him when she learns about his "death" even if she didn't know him for a long time. He has also an instant connection with Junpei and Todo.

So, for me Yuji makes people trust him and care about him naturally, even Gojo is more invested than he should be. We have a protagonist who is really charming, attracting people around him and that is one of his biggest strengths as a main character. He is just very likable and he cares a lot for the people close to him. He has so much love to give to others and will protect people who can't protect themselves without hesitation, and that keeps him strong and focused when time is needed.

As for his weaknesses, Yuji has a lot of empathy and doesn't act selfishly enough. Having empathy is not a weakness in itself but the way Yuji is using it sometimes affects him a lot. He follows blindly what his grandpa told him before dying but forgetting himself in the process, he always wants to be reliable, save people, but that makes him in danger and devalue his own life. That is until he breaks and is scared to die, but even then, the people around him come before him. He protects people, but he never protects himself and gets easily swallowed by his own emotions which makes him more vulnerable. I think that is why his enemies can manipulate him emotionally to actually hurt him (for example Mahito).

Fushiguro Megumi

Like Yuji, Megumi has very strong moral principles and even if they differ in certain ways because he has his own sense of justice, his drive to also protect people makes him reliable. He really cares about all the people close to him, though, he doesn't show it a lot, his actions speak for themselves. But he's also willing to follow what he believes in, even if that means breaking the rules, for example, when he asked Gojo to save Yuji from his execution. For him, protecting good people like Tsumiki is what encouraged him to become a jujutsu sorcerer. So he doesn't strictly follow authority just like Gojo, if that means to save someone who he thinks deserved to be saved.

Although, his strengths reside more in his intelligence and maturity. Megumi thinks before he acts, he analyses the situation and comes up with a plan or understands people's actions pretty quickly. And he knows how to use his abilities and never wastes an opportunity to solve a problem, even if that means risk his life in the process. I'll expand more on that in his weaknesses. So, I think Megumi is not acting impulsively most of the time, he takes a step back and chooses the best option to defeat an enemy. Since he was a child, he has shown maturity for his age and it has helped him become really independant. Despite being calculating and mature, Megumi can recognize when he is in the wrong or selfish. He accepts that he can make emotional decisions and he tells Yuji that he's not a hero, just a jujutsu sorcerer. He's also aware of his weaknesses and tries to correct them and get stronger physically and, i think, emotionally.

While his strength resides in his growth, intelligence and his ability to better himself, Megumi finds his weaknesses in his lack of self-care. This is really similar to Yuji as well, he is ready to pay the price because he's a jujutsu sorcerer and he thinks sacrifice is part of his commitment. He risks his life while using his domain expansion to help Nanami and Maki and he completely gives up on his life just to complete his mission, without having any regard for his life or how would people close to him feel. He apoligizes to Yuji, but he truly thinks he's doing what's best but in reality he's just gambling on his life and flee the situation and the responsability of the damages his power could cause.

Megumi's abilities are incredible, but he restrains himself too much and didn't realize it until Gojo mentioned it. He was too insecure about Yujii's growth and didn't focus enough on his own.

Yuji & Megumi

I think one of the main things they have in common is their resilience, they both follow their morals and values. It helps them carry on and give them courage.

Yuji is completely broken when he became exactly what he hates, he went against his values and it made him question himself and his legitimacy to exist. For him, his actions shouldn't be for nothing or meaningless so in the end it was all worth it. Whereas Megumi would think that if a sacrifice is needed, he would do it, if he's sure about his actions after analysing everything, he would mostly not think he was in the wrong. When they work together, they can see the bigger picture, they are more lucid and they counterbalance each other's weaknesses.

What's really interesting about their dynamic is that at first glance they seem to be the archetype of the sun and the moon or opposites attract, and I like this trope honestly, but if you look closer, they're actually more alike than we think. That's why they understand each other and can rely on each other.

We can see that well when they fight together in the Shibuya incident, they moved together in harmony. They gravitate around each other, they know each other's strengths, they use it at their advantage. Yuji immediately gets used to Megumi's shadow technique and Megumi takes Yuji's raw power into account. More than that, Megumi reads him well and noticed when something happened to Yuji, he cares a lot and repeats that he doesn't want him to die several times. Yuji trusts Megumi immensely and admires him, he pays attention to details and remembers what Megumi likes. Their closeness is also shown when Yuji taught him how to make meatballs or when they are comfortable in each other's spaces. They always protect each other, hate to see one of them suffer to the point of lying for the sake of one another.

I just think they compliment each other and work very well together, their interactions are funny, wholesome, endearing, intense, everything I like in a friendship or romantic relationship! There is care and love between them, even without shipping goggles, they are connected and paralleled. They're soulmates.

Good Morning! Super excited for these next set of eps to review.

We’ve reached the iconic and pivotal DOD eps. I’m nervously excited to review these. I want to do them justice. They are momentous for not just Chenford but the entire series. Rosalind Dyer is one of my fav recurring baddies. I loved Annie from Castle as well. Was psyched she would be joining The Rookie. This was a rare one where I got to use all the gifs I wanted to. Yay. 2x10 The Dark Side

We start with Lucy and the guys out for a post work drink. Armstrong is there as well. They’re talking about Jackson dating a celebrity. Asking how that is? Lucy says they’re happy if he’s happy. Nick calls her bluff and says ‘Liar.’ LMAO Lucy cracks and says men suck ha They sure can. That the single men in LA suck. That whenever they find out she’s a cop they freak out. (To touch on not dating a cop bit. It is only a mistake when it’s not Tim. Let’s be real.) Especially while she's still a rookie just not a good idea (cough Nolan cough) He was never a good decision though....not even a little bit. I'll die on that hill haha

Armstrong joins the convo and comes in with some solid advice. ‘Those aren’t men they’re boys. Real men are not afraid of a strong woman.’ Your real man just isn’t ready yet my dear. Nor are you. I really love this scene though. I enjoyed Nick a lot as a character. Poor Lucy she goes on her 'Sister Officer Lucy Chen' rant ha Classic. Oh the irony of this convo. In S5 she definitely isn't in a nunnery anymore heh. That is quite awhile away from this point though. Have to note how pretty she looks in this scene. Her outfit is simple but she looks stunning.

Lucy leaves the table to get another round. That’s when Lucy runs into Caleb….really unfortunate that’s his name. That’s my BIL's name haha He seems normal enough with his flirting with Lucy. Both of them being ignored for another drink by the bartender. He's making her laugh and appearing nice and kind. Ugh run Lucy run…Their moment gets interrupted by Lucy noticing a guy stealing tips. She walks away from the convo and apologizes. End ups arresting the thief. The way she takes him down is bad ass I have to say. (Tim would be proud) Says 'Surprise I’m a cop’ haha

Roll call comes around and they find out about Rosalind Dyer. A rare unicorn in their world. A female serial killer. She’s agreed to show them the 3 bodies that were never found. In exchange she gets life with no parole instead of the death penalty. Everyone’s day is now centered around this. Tim and Lucy discuss her past murders. Lucy telling Tim she was in college when they found the first victims.

That it was all anyone could talk about, wondering how a woman could be so barbaric? Tim shares his own story about it. How he worked a scene for the 4th victim. That he was advised not to look at the body. How he wish he hadn’t… The hindsight of watching this scene unfold right before they run into Caleb. It’s bone chilling to think about. Their convo being framed around this before he shows up.

Caleb shows up and Tim is immediately suspicious and does not like this guy. His face has me rolling the entire time. Gives Caleb a hard time about the word 'Perp'. His facial expressions I can not LOL Now part of this reaction is his cop gut. I truly believe that. Not trusting whoever this guy is for Lucy. His default is suspicion. The fierce protector coming out to play in this scene.

I think the rest of his reaction is him just not liking this guy being interested in Lucy. Jealously thy name is Timothy Bradford. Its seeping out of him and he can't stop himself. He's completely forgotten he's dating one of her closest friends in this moment. Written all over his face how territorial he’s being right now. I always love me some protective/jealous Tim. This scene and honestly this entire episode is full of that.

Lucy’s face is screaming ‘chill out’ the entire interaction. She's basically scolding him with her eyes above. They have a mini silent conversation with their eyes before the scene continues. If that isn't the most married look they've had so far. I love it so much. He definitely looks reprimanded in that second gif above. Tim is as transparent as person can be in this scene. Not even trying to hide it a little bit. Caleb has shown up and Tim's guard and protective nature are out in full force. Doesn't like this guy just showing up and sniffing around at all.

Caleb is clearly nervous around Tim (as he should be..) It's too funny he keeps trying regardless to talk to Lucy. Tim deftly snags the paper out of the air. She didn't have a chance of grabbing it. Caleb has to sense how much Tim doesn't want him here. He could not be less welcoming of this man. Tim reads the paper and he asks if Caleb has a last name LOL He says Wright. The irony of that last name...

I doubt our boy even knows why he’s reacting this way to Caleb. Only that he is and very strongly at that. All his feelings when it comes to Lucy are muddled and confusing for him. Yet he acts on them anyway. From the moment this guy showed up the green eyed monster was present. Tim continues to grill him. He asks what he does for a living? Says if it’s a screenwriter he’s going in a cell. He really hates screenwriters haha A theme through out the show for him.

Eric’s facial expressions during this entire scene truly is perfection. Look at the way he looks at Caleb as he leaves. If looks could kill he would be a dead man. Also you can see the mask on Caleb drop when he turns away from them (shudder). The immense distrust written all over Tim's rigid body language. You'd have to be blind not to see it. Both of their faces above are a summary of the entire scene. Lucy is happy to have caught the eye of a 'decent' guy. Tim doesn't trust this guy as far as he can throw him.

Tim doesn’t even think he’s done anything wrong till he turns around and sees her face. Kudos to Melissa for the great reaction. He says 'What?' All innocent like he didn't just drag that guy through the mud. Treat him like a criminal they deal with on the daily. She is so affronted and honestly confused as hell with his reaction. Her face basically saying 'What the hell was that?'

From the moment Caleb shows up to the moment he leaves Tim is NOT pleased with his presence. Lucy is truly confused as to why he is acting this way. She can’t put together why he was trying to kill that entire interaction. We all know Lucy included (deep down) this was jealously thorough and through. But she chalks it up to him being stressed about how crazy everything is right now. Sure that’s it Lucy…She demands the paper back with just her face and outreached hand. Tim is shocked she wants the number of this doofus. He relents and unwillingly hands it back to her. Almost rolling his eyes as he does so.

They’re driving in a caravan to the first burial site. Lucy is looking at Calebs online profile in the car. Tim snaps at her to focus. That this is going to be most dangerous day she’s ever going to spend on the job. Oh the weight of that comment when you know these eps….They both have no idea how true that’s going to be. Might seem like he’s mad when really he’s protecting her by getting her to focus. It’s his way of doing it. I also think it's a little frustration bleeding over from the whole Caleb thing. Not that he's going to put that together right now. Hell doesn't even realize how territorial and jealous he just was.

We rejoin Tim and Lucy once they arrive at the first spot. They're talking about Rosalind during this 'Hike' to find the remaining bodies. Tim asks if she’s less scary in the light of day? Lucy tells him no…but mentions how smart she must be. To have gotten away with this for so long undetected. Lucy smartly mentions there’s a play here they’re not seeing.

Tim tells her it’s just to jerk them around. Oh my love it is far more than that. Lucy is so sharp to observe this hike has to be more than just her deal. She is proven right when they find a fresher body in one of the grave sites with the old one. It’s obvious she has a partner on the outside they just don’t know who…

Lucy is looking at Caleb’s “profile” again. Watching a video of him with a puppy. Jealous/Protective Tim makes his next appearance. Could not be more obvious if he tried. Not a fan of her being enamored by this guy. He makes a snide remark saying I bet that’s not even his puppy. It’s scary how spot on he was with Caleb the entire time. It’s mainly from jealously and being protective of her, but it’s frightening how dead on his cop gut was. He turned out to right about everything with him.

Lucy naturally gives him push back and says she just wants to enjoy a cute puppy. That it’s been an awful day. Can't she just do that? Jealous Tim won't agree with her. So he is a little shit and says 'This your first decomp right? ' Watching her face go from happy to grossed out LOL Oh Tim. He knows how bad this smell is going to be for her and is enjoying it haha The way she follows after him is too funny. Melissa is also amazing at expressing so much as well.

The eerie part of this scene is it’s them being the ones to discover the DOD tattoo… There are so many forewarnings in this episode for her. For them. Literally smacking us in the face with them. That could’ve been her if things had gone wrong... Ugh my heart. They find out the newer victim was suffocated…What an awful way to die. I’m asthmatic and it gives me a pre-asthma attack just thinking about it.

A light hearted part of this scene is once again the lack of personal space. Ah personal space. They don't know her and never will. We're all ok with this notion. Nolan ends up getting Rosalind to lead them to the second site. They find a new body in it with a DOD Tattoo. The freshest one yet. They realize it’s every three months. That 12/09/19 is the the next DOD. John notes it’s 12/08 they have a day to find the next victim.

Tim and Lucy join Armstrong at the jail to search Rosalind cell once again. Trying to find some connection. A way her and this person have been communicating. Nick asks where her books are and they say they sent them back. He asks for every book she's read in the last 6 months.

They’re searching all the books and of course Lucy is the one to crack the code. I love it. Finds something in the binding. Its a coded piece of paper. She figures out the cypher fairly quickly. You know Tim loves how damn smart she is. He’s impressed. She figures out a name from the code. My girl. Bryan Coleman. Funny that doesn’t sound like Caleb Wright….

Harper and Nolan end up saving the next girl. They find out he’s been using the old abandoned zoo as his staging ground. What kills me is them saving her condemns Lucy. They stopped him from scratching that sick itch. Grey tells them all to go home and rest. Lucy spins around and tells Tim she’s just going to go home and crash.

Tim tells her that’s a mistake and gives her the advice that will haunt him in the next episode. Hell for quite awhile if I’m being honest. He will carry this moment with him for a long time. Says after a hardcore assignment she needs to blow off some steam. Find a way to decompress. If she doesn’t she’ll never get any sleep.

Lucy is super cute asking if he's really telling her to go get a drink instead? He tells her yes. Preferably a strong one even with another human being. We all know who that human being is going to be….Side note I adore the fact that he always opens the door for her. Doesn't even realize he's doing that. Just does it out of habit. Her real man standing right in front of her but it is far too early for that hehe

Literally makes me sick to watch her scene with Caleb. My skin crawls knowing where it’s headed. He took advantage of Lucy with her guard down. Her cop eyes we're retired for the night. Just trying to decompress. We go back to the station where Grey tells John and Nick they found a body at the old zoo. Bryan Coleman. Which can only mean one thing as we go back to Lucy. That Caleb is the apprentice….

She goes from giggly and relaxed to sheer terror in a matter of moments. He drugged her and Lucy is slowly realizing the situation she is now in. He also snags her phone before she can use it. Sadly she is over powered easily due the drug he gave her. Then sticks her in the trunk of his car. The ep ends there.

It’s a crazy stressful two-parter. So damn good though. I remember when this first premiered how hard it was to wait for the next episode. I’m pre emotional just thinking about analyzing the next episode. Can’t wait to do it though.

Wopez good scenes not many but really good. Wes clearing not handling his post traumatic stress well. Mixing his prescription with alcohol. Angela coming home asking if he was trying to kill himself. He says I don’t know… Not a great answer bud.

The whole Rosalind SL. It’s so dark but so good. Getting a deeper look into Nick and seeing some chinks in his armor. What he sacrificed to catch her. It’s very good. I enjoyed his character a lot and getting more depth with him as well.

you have no choice but to sit down next to her, but the moment you see her smiling because she finally got some attention from you, you honestly can't say you regret it.

♪ she just worries a lot, please try to be more understanding! like.. she's confident that she will be voted innocent again this time, surely es doesn't want to risk haruka's life, haha.. but she's not so sure about you. what if something happens to you? what if you get voted guilty? what if es doesn't forgive you? what will muu do then? she has finally found someone who she can trust and who is so, so precious to her, she can't just lose you like this!..

♪ even though the way muu has become attached to you is a little bit concerning, she really does care about you, even if her ways of showing it are kinda strange. yes, y/n, her feeding you a huge piece of cake before even trying it herself is her way of showing that she cares. she also shares her accessories with you and if you want, she would love to do your makeup too. she just wants you to feel like a queen as well, haha. oh, speaking of accessories, if you want the same hairclips haruka is wearing, she can tell him to give them back- oh, you don't want them? okay. you deserve something much more pretty anyway.

♪ when it's getting late, sometimes muu just refuses to go to sleep without you and begs es to let her share a cell with you at least when it's nighttime. es tries to act strict at first, but then muu just throws a tantrum and the poor guard doesn't have a choice after that. and right after they sigh and nod, muu immediately wipes her tears away and goes "yay~" and runs to have a sleepover with you. es starts to wonder if they have made the right decision. you two spend the first three hours talking about stuff, even though it's mostly muu doing the talking, but she's still grateful to you for listening to her. she really needed someone who can just.. pay attention to her, listen to her voice and understand what she's saying. 

♪ when muu starts to fall asleep (and she does so without any warnings, she can easily fall asleep in the middle of her sentence), she pulls you closer and you can feel her hugging you tighter and tighter. if you even try to resist, she will mumble something that sounds a lot like "don't go.." while still asleep (probably), so. yeah, you can't leave her now. you just sigh and wish her good night and don't even notice how you start falling asleep as well. you also don't notice how a small smile appears on her face.

Ikemen Villains Part 1 - William Rex Route

I've been curious about this game! I have to say though, I'm not really into the art style hahaha but that's fine, I felt similarly to Ikemen Prince when I first played it but I like it now lol. I'm not sure how to feel about the premise right now but it's nice to see that the heroine isn't as stressed as the other games and has more freedom?😆 I chose William so let's see how it goes~ For now, he's not very much like a villain especially with how considerate he is towards the heroine taking her to the theatre she wanted to go to and stuff like that, but as he says, villains don't go around killing people 24/7 lol. It was obvious that William was being purposely annoying to the heroine to give her an opportunity to talk to the writer she admires but lol, this guy really isn't much of a villain with how nice he is all the time haha. I think it's interesting how they hire maids who are deaf because this ensures they can't overhear things and tell others. Our villains definitely aren't really villains at all with how gentle and kind they actually are. But one thing I liked about William asking the heroine to talk about how scared she really was, was that he was always respectful and wanted her to slowly speak for herself. I guess it's sweet because you know that he has the power to command people to speak even if they don't want to but he wouldn't do that to her.

I guess one thing I agree with William is that just because you can't save everyone doesn't mean you should kill a part of yourself because of it. But it's difficult to not take in that pain and empathise sometimes and that inevitably hurts the kindest people. I understand the heroine's guilt though, because the easiest way is to ignore people's pain as if you don't see them so you can continue to focus on your own life and live happily. It's strong of the heroine to want to face the things she's ignored and to try and start with saving this one girl. I guess she is influencing William to an extent but I feel like he's never really been a villain so he's understandably prepared to save those victims of the butterfly group. I feel bad for William that his father was involved with the Golden Butterfly and even killed someone he wished to see live freely right in front of him. But I guess the worst was him having to accept such evil and use his powers to kill his own father to stop all this. I think it's kinda cute to see them develop their relationship so smoothly and gently, but at the same time, I can't really feel it haha. I do feel the heroine's curiosity towards William though. Well, I definitely didn't expect them to sleep together already! Surprisingly though, they're more cute than I thought especially with how gentle and teasing William was towards the heroine.

I think it's actually kind of sad how the heroine loves his sense of justice to commit evil because he can't stand seeing the innocent be trampled upon, but at the same time after witnessing his crimes right in front of her face, it's still difficult for her to stomach, especially when he crucified that guy. Considering the lack of presence of the other guys in this route, it was actually pretty sweet to see how concerned Ellis and Liam were towards the heroine after she fainted. Even though it's obvious that none of the guys would think to die a peaceful death, there was something solemn and saddening when thinking about William thinking he doesn't deserve any sort of happiness and shouldn't desire for things because of the way he's chosen to live his life. Cutting your hair to show your resolve always works haha, but yeah I can see why the reporter would be shocked to see the heroine do that when he believed that she was brainwashed by William. I feel bad for William that these guys are torturing the people he saved and trying to brainwash them into thinking William is evil so they can use them against him.

I think it's sad to watch William let himself be judged as a villain to free the people he saved, but seeing the heroine cover him when someone tried to stab him was even worse. Everything was resolved quite amicably especially with Bryan's article on the "truth". I have to say though, considering Bryan has no sprite, he had a pretty nice role in this story as someone who did what he thought was right and was not swayed by words but instead what he judged to be "right" and stuck to his beliefs. Honestly though, even though William is the LI here, I've actually got a soft spot for Liam instead because you can see how much he cares for the heroine. I wonder if it's something we should be prepared for, that if you choose to do "evil" in order to protect the people you care about from other evil people, that you need to acknowledge that things that are precious to you will be taken away because of those actions? Not only has the innocent little girl who was looking forward to becoming a florist hurt by stray bullets from Grimsley who was afraid of William coming for him, but now the heroine has also been held at gun point when she chose to go with him to make sure he doesn't be reckless. Lol, so I'm too poor and don't have enough coins but I do have enough gems🥲 Guess I can see whether the premium story is worth it😅 I guess it's twisted but a love where you love them so much that losing them is such a tragedy and drives you mad is a love that is worth striving for haha.

Overall, I'm not too sure how much I like this game for now. Personally, I think the premise isn't as interesting as I thought it would be and I also feel like the heroine's role is rather purposeless compared to other Ikemen games but maybe it's just me haha. Anyway, what I enjoyed about William is that his route explores the idea of sacrificing oneself to preserve the peace of others and giving them the freedom to choose the path they want to tread and to do what they choose to do, which is exactly the opposite of what his powers do, but I guess it's because of these powers that he understands how terrible it is to not have that control over yourself and your own life. However, I feel the romance was rather bland. I'm not sure if I could really feel how and why they liked each other even though I do acknowledge that William was interested in the heroine for the way she chose to live her life. But otherwise, I didn't think they really matched imo haha! I ended up really liking Liam though so I'll be looking forward to his route next!

And I must share my thoughts somewhere because

I have wanted desperately to see more of how Luke having a super-dangerous job affects their relationship (see: Peaceful Place), because most of the time the fact that he's a secret agent is just written as Luke can easily take out any of the bad guys, he's just that good at his job rather than he could seriously get hurt.

I was expecting mhy to totally skirt the suggestive PV scene (cough, SotT card voicelines, cough) with some oh-they-weren't-actually-doing-anything context but oh MAN they did not disappoint this time.

First off, I should mention that the card is like... half angst (of course). Luke comes back to MC presumably very injured (even though he insists that it's not a serious injury). NSB protocol is to not let agents out and about until they're fully healed, no matter how light their wound, but the higher-ups made an exception for him, and he arrives at MC's door with Aaron, all bandaged up and clearly not okay.

He's literally telling MC all this in a hoarse voice because he breathed in smoke from the explosion but haha, no it's just a light wound, a minor accident!

(bonus: he mentions that the reason why he managed to get out with only light wounds was because of MC's protection from afar. And he means that literally because he brings the little trinkets MC's gifted with him everywhere -- the key necklace, the badge from their visit to Hoyoland, the bracelet she gave him on his birthday.)

Part of hiding the nature of his wounds from MC is because the information he handles is confidential. But when MC heads to the bathroom to search up how to treat his bruise, she recognises from the search results that it was blunt force trauma from a bat, not an accidental bump into the bar counter like he'd explained. Here's MC trying to put on a brave face so she can tend to his wounds quicker instead of crying in the bathroom.

(I love lukerosa sm they're really one and the same -- while Luke's trying to downplay his physical pain, MC is doing the same with her emotions, because they don't want the other to see it, because seeing the other like that would hurt them more.)

The thing is, we've all been through Luke's relentless 'I'm actually okay and not seriously hurt at all, I don't you to be worried!', and MC has (rightfully) called him out on it quite a few times. But in this card, as she's treating his wounds, as he keeps talking about how he's not very hurt at all, his wounds and words weigh on her heart.

Luke Pearce is lying. But she knows that she shouldn't be telling him off about not keeping himself away from danger so stubbornly.

Instead, she says this:

Literally the next scene is MC finding that the other side of her bed is empty. And Luke calling her downstairs for breakfast.

In short, I am flabbergasted they actually just did not bother with any oh maaaaybe they did but it's all up in the air nonsense this time. Good night to all lukerosa enjoyers this whole card was a feast. There was an extra chapter and a phone call but I'll edit this post later if I feel up to it, because mainly I just wanted to rant about how happy I am with the way they handled MC dealing with Luke's job this time.

Been talking about Roxy being cute and nice a lot lately. I just wanna say she's petty as hell, causes trouble on purpose for funsies, will absolutely throw hands if a competition gets too heated or just cause she can, absolutely vicious with her words if pushed, destructive as all fuck, and does not need another excuse to punch Freddy so hard his head falls off.

She's literally banned for life from Fazerblast she and Freddy hate eachother that much and Freddy is notorious for never banning anyone for more than a day at most. Roxy has seen the inside of Fazerblast a whole two times ever. To be fair, she hates cheaters and unfair games so with her fancy eyes, she wouldn't feel comfortable playing when she has such an unfair advantage she can't switch off, but that's not the point. Their beef is so bad that Glitchtrap fucking bails on Freddy whenever Roxy catches them luring a kid because he doesn't want to get his shit kicked in while she has way too much fun doing it. It's on sight. No fucks given.

Roxy is the bane of the managers and the staffs existence. Unless the rules make sense to Roxy, she's not following them for shit. What gets them is that the higher ups really like Roxy for some fucking reason, and by that, I mean her misbehaving makes them money. She was pre-programmed to play acoustic guitar, violin, and the drums. She was primarily meant to be the band's drummer but this motherfucker found an old ass keytar in the dusty as basement and fell in love with it. Showed up to her debut, too late for anyone to have a chance to stop her, and played keytar instead. Literally kept deliberately stealing the spotlight to give herself a solo or to drag out the song a little bit longer, she had an absolute blast with it and because the audience loved it, she fucking got away with it.

If literally any of the others had done that, they're convinced they would have got in such big trouble they'd be at risk of getting scrapped. Yet they're currently watching the staff hastily swap Roxy's art and posters for new ones without the drums like it was totally fine what she just did. And she never stops doing it! The others start to join in with it, but god damn that's frustrating at first, even more so when she refuses to stick to the script for five fucking seconds.

She's sworn in front of kids a good few times too. Wise enough not to do it in front of parents though, but it has happened and she's barely got a slap on the wrist for it. The higher ups don't really like when she ignores the pass system and takes kids into attractions they don't have a pass for without charging them, but it's only one or two every so often it's fiiiinnneeee... Bonnie did that one time and they had a real go at him though and she couldn't help but laugh about it cause haha lmao sucks to be him sounds like he did it wrong smh what an amateur!!

She's the king of getting away with shit. She'll find a loophole to anything she doesn't agree with, make her own rules, or just straight up not get caught. She's also the king of never letting anything go ever. If you wrong her, she will not let it go until justice has been served you mark her fucking words.

She's also a pretty sneaky lil shit. She's the fastest in the Plex, can see through walls and has the perks being a guard dog to Mimic gives her too. If she doesn't want to be found, well shit, she's just gone and no one has any idea where to. Completely vanished. Is she even still in the Plex? Who fucking knows!

Prides herself on being able to find anything and anyone in the building just you fucking watch. So long as it's in the Plex, she can find it. Don't ever doubt her on this. She will not hesitate to prove it. She loves showing off too much to let it slide, she will bet her life on being able to find shit and while sometimes it does take her a while, she's yet to meet her match.

The manager was threatening to scrap her one time when she was feeling particularly ballsy after she'd done something actually serious, and she really did bet her life on being able to find something. This fucker didn't believe anyone could be that fucking stupid, and given how much trouble she causes, it would be nice to kick her down a peg... She found the prototype drummer Roxy figurine he asked for within the hour. And then a plushie of one of the much older Bonnie animatronics within a day. And then a discontinued arcade cabinet his daughter wanted to play within the week. Like god damn she was not joking whadda hell. She's so fucking smug about it too like god. Whadda hell.

There's so much more to say about her there's just so many elements to her personality I could do this all day lmao

Hi I'm back again!!!!

I'm haply to know that I'm not alone in the "ship has to be sometimes realistic or I die" boat. Though it's not like I can't consume unrealistic stuff. I just have to be in the mood for it.

I assume the daughter that looks like Aventurine would be the oldest, right? And then later come the other two. I would love to hear about what you came up with!!! (I would also like to draw them, but I don't think I'll do your vision justice...)

In comparison, the fan kids I made aren't all that fleshed out, haha. It's not that I've never thought of them having kids, but my brain feels like it has to build the relationship first before jumping into it, if that makes sense. Like I first have to think about how a ship got together, how the relationship progresses, what struggles they face, whether they would get married, whether they want kids, etc. Whatever I create has to stem from those conclusions. That might be weird, idk. But having someone to bounce ideas off of certainly helps!!!!

Back to the kids, for me I would envision them to have two daughters. They both would have blonde hair, but then the youngest later on dyes it similar to Ratio's, just a bit lighter. The oldest would have Ratio's eyes, and the youngest would have Aventurine's. When they're raising them it's sometimes a jumpscare when Aventurine sees long blonde hair.

I like to think that the eldest daughter eventually gets the fashion sense of her papa (flashy, reference to an animal, excessive amounts of jewelry, etc). Though I'm mostly thinking of those sunglasses Aventurine sometimes wears. They take shopping trips together. Though she'd be the type that just likes what looks good on her, even if it's not designer or whatever.

In contrast, the youngest unfortunately gets one good look at Stelle and it shapes her little brain forever. She looks at Ratio and tells him "I wanna be like them when I grow up!!!!" and it's just a picture of them after they finished dumpster diving. There is no hope to be had. He tries to sit her down and tells her that looting for trash is frowned upon in society and can get her sick. She starts crying.

As for jobs, I like to think one of them becomes a pastry chef, and the other a teacher. But I haven't decided who gets what. Or, like what level of complexity the job would be.

ok ok so here's their designs (always subject to change). fitia is the oldest amongst the three and is a phd holder in archeology and anthropology. she's currently busy with research into her family legacy, more specifically she's interested in the avgin (both for her sake and bcs she grew up with aven talking abt his clan). fitia is a mild mannered person with a sunny disposition and a meticulous approach to her work, which means that she's not very good at taking care of herself. one can either find her nose deep in work or passed out on the floor with several mugs of coffee near her. fun fact, her nickname fi is a play on phi often being used in maths.

selene is the middle child. she's a pro racer and is just about the most reckless person you could meet. an adrenaline junkie at heart, she often makes her family worry. selene is a rebellious one, being very independent even as a kid. she's an avid lover of all things vehicle related and when she's not busy crashing them, she's seen tinkering with bits and bobbles. selene is a yapper, something she inherited from both her parents, and often annoys her two quieter sisters with her talking (they don't mind tho).

cassea is the youngest and quietest of the bunch. she's currently studying geology and is running a blog where she talks about gems. she's more of a listener than a talker, but her tongue is sharp whenever it needs to be. she is quite sweet, but she has taken after ratio's blunt nature. if she's not studying or indulging in her work, she's often seen walking along beaches combing for rocks and pretty shells. cassea has a habit of picking up trinkets and gifting them to her family (selene has a whole lot on her keychain). cassea's name is (might be inaccurate) the romani version of the name keziah.

nooo i love ur two girls they sound so lovely. i like the 2nd one dyeing her hair like her dad's, she's so real for that!!! who wouldn't want to look as good as he does?

oooh do you think that whenever they go on their shopping sprees, that they both legit take hours because they take so long choosing good pieces? i can just imagine her sitting in front of the changing room and waiting for him to come out so they can nitpick every single thing wrong with the article. i can already tell that their closets are full of stuff.

Happy VtM FangFest24 Finale!

FINISHING ON A TIME TECHNICALITY!

My first eleven entries are here. It was absolutely wild to draw 22 portraits in a week, but I had fun. Big thank you to @fuckyeahlabynight for hosting this mega tarot-themed VtM FangFest! I'm looking forward to basking in everyone else's entries now that I can come up for air, haha.

Day 12 - Genina as Justice - With her role in the Haitian Independence, Genina was a natural fit for this card. She had a rough life, a rougher Embrace, and the roughest fledgling experience though, so her later misanthropy makes total sense. Her official art didn't make sense to me. Why is a woman of Ashanti descent depicted as a little white girl? Instead, Genina here looks like Amy Ashwood Garvey, an Ashanti activist. I chose thistle for the misanthropy it represents and the associated symbology for Scottish independence.

Day 13 - Nines Rodriguez as The Hanged Man - For much of VtMB, Nines is this card Reversed. The basil leaves ("I change in death") around him signify what forces Nines to change. After LaCroix's death, he surrenders to everyone's wishes and officially declares himself Baron. In LA by Night, we see him consider new perspectives on the Anarchs after Annabelle dies and hits the Kindred scene, and especially after Isaac leaves, and presumably dies to, the Beckoning. Him dating Ming Xiao is entirely self-indulgent :D

Day 14 - Andrew Emory as Death - Andrew's story deals a lot with change: unwanted or wanted. Each time he adapts and takes a level in badass. The daffodils mean the flipside of endings aka "new beginnings"

Day 15 - Fatima al-Faqadi as Temperance - Since the Baali curse, the Banu Haqim have hinged on this card and that balancing act has been passed on to Fatima. She walks it beautifully. The saffron stands for "beware of excess." Fatima's artists can't seem to decide if she's a hijabi or not. I drew her in a niqab because they're so cozy.

Day 16 - Lucita de Aragon as The Devil - I'm not trying to diss Lucita here--I love her!--but the struggles of the Devil card belong to her too, especially after leaving the Memory-Seekers. The mistletoe ("I surmount all obstacles") shows my confidence that she'll figure it out. The art continues my curly haired Lucita agenda and I don't think I've drawn her plain ol'smiling before. Variety! She contains multitudes!

Day 17 - Bjorn Garinson as The Tower - Bjorn is here because a) he's very chaotic and b) the key joke. If you know, you know. My condolences on knowing.

Day 18 - María Sandoza as The Star - Maria and the Sabbat Inquistion she leads have to grapple with trials the Star offers. She must continue her faith in the Inquistion and that what they're doing is right--despite that the Sabbat is what her icky sire wanted, and despite the temptation of the infernal powers. The flowers around her are alyssum for "worth beyond beauty" because everyone underestimates a pretty fifteen year old girl (until her shadows rip out your throat).

Day 19 - Anatole as The Moon - Totally impossible for me to not have a Malkavian for The Moon. Anatole looks more serious here because I was trying to capture the serious, oscillating nature of the card. The "message" meaning for the iris is one of hope. He'll get the message out, to the right people, at the right time.

Day 20 - Saulot as The Sun - The choice of Saulot is more of an in-joke. Saulot was in our Ancient Rome by Night game and one time he turned into a tiny sun to eradicate a demon. Still, Kindred look to this Clan founder as a source of positive healing, without realizing the heavy cost of that enlightenment or pondering if it's actually possible. The eglantine means "I wound to heal" and touches on this conundrum.

Day 21 - Theo Bell as Judgement - As one of the most active Camarilla Archons, Theo has had to make a lot of judgement calls. In v5, he finally has to judge what's good for him, leading to all the nuances of this card. The chestnut flowers around him stand for "do me justice," which the Camarilla hasn't done. Like Lucita, I drew him smiling and happy because a lot of art doesn't. He wears those baseball hats all the time. Does he have a favorite team? Does he watch baseball with Qadir? He must have smiled because his team won! At least once in his unlife!

Day 22 - Hazimel as The World - Hazimel is one of the most accomplished Ravnos in the entire Clan. Even if Hazimel himself hasn't traveled the world, his eyeball sure has. Having one eye closed is a tease--is he blinking, winking, or missing it? No, no he has his eye. The laurel stands for success and completion, after all. Just like this challenge!

I'm not entirely sure how much of DAI I'll end up replaying--I'm definitely not doing all the side quests, but I do kinda wanna do the DLCs since I totally slept on The Descent and haven't played the other ones since their release. But until I finish the game or get bored with it, I wanted to do slightly more structured rambling about Valerie in Thedas.

First things first: Yes, Goro also exists in this AU. How? Not sure yet, haha. Story-wise, I immediately envisioned him being a bodyguard for a Tevinter magister, but I'm still musing a lot on the specifics. Pretty-picture-wise, I might attempt to create him in DAI's CC. But that's a big might. I don't have a lot of confidence I could do him justice. I think looking into porting some of DAI's assets to Cyberpunk would probably be the "easier" method, but that's not something I'm interested in pursuing just yet.

Valerie's in-game build is a human archer. I was torn between archer and mage--In her canon, she's guns and netrunning, but more on the guns side so I went with archer. (Also, I just like playing as an archer. Old-time mutuals might remember that's what my canon Inquisitor was, too.)

Her face tattoos were an effort to find something to sort of mimic her cyberware, and of all the options, these were the closest. I was originally going to try it with scars instead, but I lost my first attempt at making her because the scars can crash the Enhanced Character Creation mod, and I didn't want to tempt fate again.

Although I'm obviously playing her as the Inquisitor in this, I don't actually want her to be a big damn hero in Thedas. I kind of like the idea of her being from a disgraced merchant family from the Free Marches who ends up doing fantasy merc work that eventually brings her to Tevinter.

I'm still very much trying to suss out where she'd be politically and religiously. She's been denying that she's the Herald of Andraste, which feels right to me, but I can't decide if she'd believe in the Maker or not. I generally tend to assume the average Southern Thedosian probably doesn't challenge that belief too much, but she might not be average in that regard. To be decided.

I don't have Cole or Dorian yet, but Valerie's quick first impressions of the advisors and companions so far: Leliana: The single most terrifying person Valerie has ever met (potentially across all universes, lmao) Josephine: The only responsible, reasonable adult in the room Cullen: Just because he's a good fighter doesn't mean she can't tell he's a total dork Cassandra: Brash and headstrong, but in a way Valerie very much likes; not too keen on the Herald shit, though Varric: Affable and clever, but senses a whiny streak that might get on her nerves Solas: Arrogant and condescending, has to begrudgingly accept his expertise Blackwall: His beard is so big because it's full of secrets, and those secrets are not about the Grey Wardens Sera: A little over-the-top, but in an endearing way (for the moment) Vivienne: Pompous and powerful, definitely not someone to piss off Iron Bull: Almost suspiciously honest, but she admires the bond between him and the Chargers

thank you to @greypetrel for tagging me to do this!! had to give it some thought but we got there in the end (albeit not entirely coherant). it's mostly dragon age, but I wanted to sprinkle in some other oc's in there too :3

Favourite OC: I talk about Mori'na the most and that's because she's probably my top girl right now. She is always invading my thoughts, consumes them you might say. She was one I made when I played Dragon Age after a long time of not playing, and she's constantly evolving. I just think she's neat.

Newest OC: Cyra's probably the newest newest, and I haven't completely figured her out yet. Have to get one good pt with her and then continue to build off from there. She's definitely different from a lot of the other OC's I make and I think that's exciting. Get some variety, ya know?

Oldest OC: Uhhhh I don't think you want to know my oldest OC. I'm not about to share my preteen writing or characters haha I guess the oldest OC I have that isn't dragon age related is from an original work that I want to go back to one day. His name was Adam (I'm probably going to change it) and I was really excited to tell not just his story but the overall story. He was from a Nano year! I was very close to making it to 50k but petered out near the end because I couldn't figure out certain chapters for the life of me. One of these days I'll pick him back up. He was very sweet, loved photography, and the classic trope of having a dead parent :)

If you want Dragon Age, my very first character was an Aeducan! I can't remember her name for the life of me (I made her when I was like 13 so forgive my foggy memory) but I remember her mabari's name was Dum (pronounced doom bc I thought it sounded cute). She romanced Alistair (what's new?) and was pretty nice just because I hated playing mean characters back then. I still do sometimes haha I'm thinking of bringing her back but she's going to make very different choices than my original pt. I want her to be the warden in my Cyra worldstate.

Meanest OC: Could swing either way depending on the sort of mean you want to refer to. Ashari is mean in a very blunt way, doesn't have much room for small talk and will insult you to your face. But she's also fiercly protective of the ones she loves and is where you'll see the most venom if you plan on hurting them. She's very much like this video around her friends and family depending, and some people can translate it to being mean.

If you want calculative, cut you right at the core mean, Cyra. She may come off as kind with the whole Andraste visage, but she knows right where to strike. She will find your deepest weakness and exploit it like no other. She's a very ruthless judge, but thinks she's doing it in the name of justice. I think I have a pin on her pinterest board that says "Divine Violence" and pretty much sums up how she rules. She knows how to play the game. (she's not all mean though, don't worry 😅)

Softest OC: For the most part I want to say Mori'na, she's a soft person in some regards, has soft qualities, but I also don't want people to think that's all she is. She's a complex elf that has a lot going on, but she's definitely a flower crown wearer.

Most Aloof/Standoffish OC: As referenced above, Ashari's deifnitely one standoffish OC but I don't think the most. Blunt, doesn't like small talk, but she's also rather emotional (my very angry daughter) so she's not entirely aloof.

Bohean is pretty aloof, he's definitely got a cold demeanor and doesn't let his emotions show (only Mori'na can read him really). He's very duty driven and finds that letting emotions get in the way isn't ideal (conceal don't feel.....I don't like that movie). Being a mage and the First definitely plays into it.

Dumbest (affectionate) OC: They are all dumb, in their own ways. Everyone makes dumb choices. It's only natural. I guess in kind of original original character, I had an OC named Hattie Dunn (she was from a tlou rp LOL but I devved her outside of it for a bit as well). Everytime I think about her I'm just like, girl. Make better choices. What are you doing? Stop brooding, go talk to Car. Stop it *spritz w/ water*

Dragon Age wise they're all dumb, there's no helping it. They all make some dumb decisions along the way, they gotta for me to make an interesting story lol I guess Faye can be slotted in the dumb category just for pining reasons. Not the best at reading people or the room sometimes. They don't care in the beginning since they're only trying to make coin for the most part. Feelings are where the real dumb comes out. Will wax poetic about a person in their necromicon and write songs about them in their free time, but actually telling the person? Flirting maybe, but a flustered mess when it gets serious.

Smartest OC: Mori'na is very smart, practicaly and being able to read people (for the most part, emotions can get in the way sometimes, don't question it). Knows every known plant under the sun and can relay facts about it in five seconds. Can immedietly know if one is poisonus or not. Has a good memory, never forgets. Which is never good for someone she holds a grudge against you fucked up wolfie. I think she's able to read people better just because she has a healthy mother relationship lol

OC I'd Probably Be Friends With: I can see myself being friends with the main Dragon Age three. Cyra's too much of a wine mom. Mori'na I would enjoy listening to about plants and we could have a nice chat, but also not have to talk at all. Could sit in silence and do our own things but enjoy one another's company. Faye is very extroverted, and I'd probably just let them do their own thing while I observe. Great movie buddy tbh, lot of joking during movie nights. Ashari I would hype up, talk about murdering her capitalist pig boss and I'd just say "yes girl, you tear that man apart". I think she could be good to joke around with, because she does have a bit of a sarcastic side but she says it with the exact same blunt articulation that you can never tell if she's being serious or not.

Oh dear, I started a Sims 4 playthrough.

You know what, "Leeb, Leefuh, Love" sounds like a pretty good sitcom name. I'm going to start naming whatever sitcom-fanfic this playthrough becomes—provided I don't chicken out of documenting This Thing out of cringe.

For starters, Metallica—the three angriest men of the year 2003—decided to move to some random house in Oasis Springs. Why? I don't know. Are they there to find a bassist? Dunno either.

Okay, maybe they aren't so angry.

In fact, James and Lars are coming along pretty well. Since there isn't a way in-game for them to start a thrash metal band, each members are doing mundane jobs!

Lars is a lawyer—looking at you, Napster—while James is an Entertainer, probably a comedian because why not. Kirk's getting a start in the Culinary career.

...Oh, yeah, the Welcome Wagon struck that household, too.

Johnny Zest made a fruitcake. I think they liked it—I can't recall what they thought of it... Kirk's social awkwardness begins to pop up, too, although advice from his totally-bandmates did help a bit.

And yes, that's Makoto Yuuki—from the popular PS2 video game Persona 3 FES—in the background. We'll bother about him in a bit. At least he gets along pretty well with the Metallica household, especially James.

Several hours later, Lars decided to become the new Skrillex, and played around with the music-making-table (I can't remember what they are called).

It's got about as much bass as ...And Justice For All, trust me.

Moving over to that place that the developers designed after the British countryside, not that I remember the world's name, the RBY household moved into a house. Weiss won't fit anywhere between the budding lovers Blake and Yang and the hyperfixative Ruby. She might get created at some point, just outside the hellhole.

So, yeah, there they are, living their lives in the moment.

This is probably my favorite screenshot of them, Blake probably being OOC be damned.

Also, most of the household seems to have fairly... memorable faces, especially Yang's psychotic expressions. I might compile them at some point in the future.

Anyways, so, jobs: Blake writes stuff. Yang is a cop—because I can, and I want her to be as silly as Martin Riggs; so she's stuck in a cop-aganda show. Ruby goes to high school, therefore she's stuck in some teenagers-do-stuff sitcom.

Oh, yeah, Ruby did go to high school, and I have some bits to document.

As pissed off because of some fear about unfulfilled dreams, she seems to have a thing for exercise. It's probably an excuse to offer you one of her goofy-looking faces, though.

But aside from that, everything went as normal, and Ruby managed to acquaint herself with Cassandra Goth.

That's good, I suppose. There were two other Sims that she managed to befriend, too, but I forgot their names. No, that Landgraab is not on the list—absolutely not, nuh-uh.

Also, later that day, she decided to bring Ruby to the Hijinks-and-other-things Festival. She went off to the art museum, while Ruby's left on her own. Noooo, that never happened before in the show Ruby was from! haha! But yeah, she joined the Pranksters—mainly because I wanted a silly laugh—but upon finding out that James Hetfield is there, I thought it'd be utterly hilarious for her to prank him.

So, that's one-half of a thing I'm doing, and I realized that I was capturing too many pictures for comfortable reading. Plus, the default Tumblr layout sucks for this kind of thing, and I have no clue how to code layouts, so... Yeah, the second half coming later on.

Flash Thoughts 9x09--It's My Party and I'll Die if I Want To

Full spoilers ahead!

Tonight was the Return of The CW's Flash, and thus the return of Flash Thoughts! I of course wasn't in town to do Flash Thoughts for the last two episodes so I'm excited to get into this again

So, to get it out of the way

OLIVER QUEEN IS BACK

But how is it handled? Does it do the Godfather of the Arrowverse justice (no pun intended)?

I'd say...Yes. But. the episode is still a bit of a mixed bag. Let's back up a bit.

I think the way they set this story in motion was actually really interesting. Using the weird superaging Barry had to deal with and then got reversed to give Barry a superhero-enforced version of a crisis many people deal with when they hit 30---

Am i using my time on earth wisely?

And to dive into Barry's survival guilt is definitely always an interesting angle to explore. It's fundamental to his entire journey as the Flash.

I genuinely love the kind of meta angle of him being the star, and thus everyone who dies dies for him because he's the most important part of the show

Taking a look at Wally's trauma about being left behind and feeling undervalued and taken advantage of was really interesting too. What we saw tonight was a very similar pain to what we saw all the way back in season 2 when he was first introduced. And honestly, it makes a lot of sense. plus it was interesting to revisit his whole "finding myself" thing that he's been doing for absolutely ages and kinda give a solid reason why it's necessary for kinda the first time haha

it was really cool to get bloodwork back. the CGI monster he turned into was iffy (CW budgets, what can you do), and actually overall I just don't think the VFX for his powers was handled as well as in his original appearance, but I still think he was great.

And Oliver was literally the healthiest he's ever been. It only took him until he died apparently.

Regardless, I actually think this episode handled his return quite well. He's still The Specter (or is it Spectre?) so he can't just pop down to earth any time he likes, but it was established in COIE that even after his death at the hands of the Anti-Monitor and his sacrifice he still existed in some capacity. I think his story from Arrow was used very well to push Barry forward, and their relationship is always really strong and continues to be so.

Oh and of course Ollie's time with dig was beautiful too.

I'll give Eric Wallace this--execution aside, this show has never believed in any benefits of toxic masculinity. It is...genuinely awesome to see men casually and sincerely telling one another "i love you" without an ounce of shame. Oliver and dig saying that to each other in particular was very powerful, because it does show how different Oliver is from where he began.

i know some folks will be pissed about the Green lantern ring thing, and I'll be honest, while i respect what they went for I understand the frustration. It seemed like they were heading in the direction of an exciting payoff to a long held fan theory that slowly became canon, and that would let Dig really transcend Oliver's story. But...I do also get that Dig does not like the cosmic shit. He never has. It would be a little weird for him to go off into space and be a Green Lantern when he's never even stopped puking when Barry uses his super speed.

Anyways, moving on...It's kinda annoying it took three years, but team Flash finally learns about the existence of the new multiverse! Shame we'll never get to see anything done with that though.

Khione gets some confirmation of some of why she is the way she is--specifically, that she is "tuned into the natural order of things". Kinda intriguing, looking forward to seeing where that goes.

Glad we got to dig into the fact that Barry is still mourning Caitlin and Frost too.

In fact, all of this is so interesting, it really ought to have been given more time.

Yeah i think that's my biggest criticism of this episode. It's not so much the content of it, it's that it genuinely feels like this should have been the meat of about half the season and they put it all in one episode.

Especially because this episode played to the strengths that made season 8 so fantastic!

Eric Wallace's Flash has showed multiple times that it's strengths come

A) when it plays with the rest of the Arrowverse in a way that furthers the story of this show

and

B) when it goes really dark and even leans into horror a bit

and the problem is, he's spent most of his run actively leaning away from both. This episode shows just how much of a mistake that is.

Not letting Red Death be Ryan from the Armageddon timeline? Not doing a proper Batwoman/Flash team-up? Not letting Red Death lean into the horror aesthetic her costume easily could have connected her to and instead having those somewhat campy screaming breakdowns and the vibrating camouflage voice? Not letting Red Death lean into the absolutely twisted nature of the comics Red Death?

Eric Wallace's highest points as showrunner were the original Bloodwork story and season 8, especially the Armageddon and Deathstorm arcs (slightly iffy Armageddon finale notwithstanding)

All of these are decisions that lean away from those strengths, and while I'm still enjoying the final season, that's a significant error in judgement on his part.
