important lessons I've learned from trans girls tonight when it comes to trans girl representation:

""imperfect"" (what society considers it to be) femininity is realistic, and some women DON'T get gender dysphoria over stuff like body hair, stubble, Adam's apple, that kind of thing. some trans women LOVE seeing those "imperfections" pictured!

don't hyperfetishize. this one is pretty obvious, but I clearly missed huge fucking glaringly obvious stuff before, so a reminder is nice. not every trans woman is a dommy mommy with a huge dick

bad people who happen to be trans is fine, just balance it out with some positive representation so it doesn't come across as "their transness made them this way". also stay away from anything leaning toward TERF rhetoric like (this was the example I was given) using your transness to get a woman alone with you for nefarious reasons, like "it's okay you can trust me I'm a girl too :)" bad. gross. j.k. r0wling.

sexuality can be fine in doses when balanced out with nonsexual representation. again, not every trans woman has a super high libido, that's playing into stereotypes. is she written as hypersexual BECAUSE she's trans, or is she just hypersexual?

reminders:

if you or someone you know might need it in the next few years, purchase plan b. the shelf life of plan b is 4 years, and we might not be able to access it as easily as we can now in the days ahead.

in short, don’t be a snitch, and keep to yourself these next four years. we’ll make it through this even if it seems hopeless at times.

Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.

First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.
