so anyway im now like 89% certain that whatever the "traces" of the narwhal that remain on ajax and facilitate their (ever-growing) innate connection are like. an actually fundamental aspect of it (them?) more or less.

and like if it wasnt for traveler intervening its confirmed through narzissenkreuz and renes world formula that teyvat wouldve just been destroyed. no one could have stopped the narwhal not neuvillette not focalors not anyone.

so what was the one other thing it did right before going for that french brunch? calling for ajax. getting them reunited in the primordial sea. like all the possible implications aside bc theres many different ways to speculate on the exact reasons why and the nature of that link. the point remains.

and its not only the calling from the narwhal side itself either bc this is ALL coinciding with the growth of a 'restless power' within ajax and his vision malfunctioning (the things celestia is literally confirmed to harvest energy thru to repair its damaged authority) and his connection with the narwhal reaching an actual conscious level (arguably subconscious n emotional too bc i find it Curious his mood is poor right as the narwhal is repeatedly described as positively malding to the point its boss fight mechanic is literally a rage meter). ajax' power is growing. his destiny is starting to shift and something is drawing him to fontaine... right as the narwhal is getting close to finished with the primordial sea. funny how it overlaps eh. how it aligns 🤨🤨 why are they orbiting each other like this (they should kiss)

(& not to even Mention how ajax just Happened to get that absolutely exponential and borderline unbelievable feat of power spike in extending his foul legacy endurance as massively as he did. while. within the primordial sea. with his narwhal. who had at that point all but incorporated the power of that sea into itself. i s2g if childe was getting passive home turf co-op bonus exp with a 4x multiplier automatically the whole 40+ days 💀💀)

Mob Psycho 100 is literally the best coming of age story out there.

Mob's slow but steady emotional growth, the way he started working out because he wanted to get buff on a whim (to get popular) only to find genuine joy and satisfaction in it, gosh, the whole overarching plotline of the ownership of his thoughts and feelings, discovering and accepting himself while considering everything and everyone around him. Accepting the truth that the openings are always talking about; your life is your own, everyone can be special because nobody is special, you're the only one of you. The way this show tackles the life-changing stages (puberty, going from a flippant person to a reliable adult, stepping into the world when you've hidden from it for so long, etc) just can't be beaten. The way Mob's emotions are visceral and confusing, but he keeps seeking out answers and hoping to grow.. he's awesome!

Along with Mob, everyone else grows too; Reigen learns humility and takes ownership of the fact he genuinely loves running his silly little psychic shop, even if he doesn't take much seriously in life at all. Ritsu coming to terms with his self-image and allowing himself to be a kid instead of a star student, instead of aiming to be The Best; and him learning to make friends of his own and accept himself and his brother and the people around him and see everyone for who they are - people. Just. Everyone accepting that fear is natural - of danger, of living, of being yourself - but also that fear shouldn't stop you from being true to yourself and doing what you want to do at that moment.

Every character, no matter how big or small, grows so much throughout the story, and I'm so proud of them. I'm glad I got to grow with them.

Anyway, his name is Mort (Mortimer) and he was stillborn of a very powerful wizard lady who JUST lost her husband to a freak magic incident before.

She kind of pulled Ketheric+Mayrina and refused to accept what her baby is dead.

She turned into a lil over the top Myrkul worshipper who called herself "A bride of Myrkul" and brought her baby back by unnatural means.

Which makes Mort both immortal and...uh. Dead. He is like Isobel but more fucked up. And have been this way for all of his (un)life.

8. Reoccurring dreams?

I seem to have a reoccurring dream of a crocodile, and I've had it every now and then since I was very small. Its kind of a toss up if it ends up being a nightmare or not, and I think as I get older the dreams become less scary? The crocodile sometimes ends up being a man with a crocodile head? Various things happen in these dreams but they usually end up being a me vs. The Crocodile situation. I don't always end up losing or being eaten though! I actually used to believe that when the crocodile was "human" he was trying to protect me from something even though I was TERRIFIED of him lol

I think the last time I had a dream about the crocodile was maybe 2019? It was just before I had to travel to Australia and in the dream I had to cross a bridge and if I slipped and fell, I would get eaten by him, and I was being hunted the ENTIRE dream. That's usually the reoccurring part despite the crocodile changing appearances; from sleep to wake its just hiding from it and hoping I don't get caught 🏃🏻‍♂️💨

Anyway re: Jeanne d'Arc. It's anachronistic to define her as a fascist saint or as a nationalist warrior. To quote Lucien Febvre, you're giving Diogenes an umbrella and Mars a gatling gun. I don't think people in tumblr making comics about Joan of Arc as she relates to gender, violence, or her relationship to god are the reason we have the far-right turn her into a fascist icon. I don't think Leslie Feinberg writing about her emboldens Eric Zemmour. I don't think F'murr's Jehanne au pied du mur (an excellent comic book where Joan is either piss-drunk or trying to have sex with her alien husband or trying to rope Attila the Hun into many a harebrained scheme) had any impact on racism in France.

I think we can say it's sometimes cringey & annoying when people use complex & flawed historical people as blorbos (cf: Hamilton, Our Flag Means Death, The Terror). Sometimes it's done very skillfully and it sheds light on history and sometimes it's in poor taste and obscures the events and one's mileage will enormously vary over time (used to be big into Hamilton, find it a poor history lesson and a cringe fandom now, but I don't think it has had any negative consequence on antiblack racism in the U.S)

But people on Tumblr or even writers have very little impact on tradcath fascist radicalisation, and if they do, I don't think they're worsening the situation in any way shape or form. The people in Orleans aren't reactionary racists because Joan of Arc is an inherently Racist or Royalist or Christian figure. They're racists because they're pieces of shit and right-wing tradcath reaction has been a big thing in the french countryside for structural reasons. I can understand getting mad at "Marie-Antoinette did nothing wrong" Coppola-snorting coquettes (M-A was ridiculously and blithely evil irl) but I find it really strange to have Joan of Arc being a tumblr blorbo for us queers a hill one would be willing to fight on.
